Daniel Steinberg aka Harry Axt has always shied away from press attention, instead preferring to craft his music shrouded from ego and hype. His productions are in favour with the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Claude Vonstroke and Richie Hawtin and he is very much an unsung hero of the scene.
As Berlin's underground throbbed with minimal beats and stripped down house, Steinberg seemed to reach into the concreted shadows and caverns and emerge with something shimmering with real heart and feeling. Dicing Brazilian samples with killer beats and laying on the glitch to heavy effect
A veritable chameleon of Berlin's musical landscape since he first started producing his colourful vision of house and techno back in 1993, a time when Berlin's sound was stripped back and very distinctive, Steinberg was already thriving outside this box, experimenting with exotic world samples and having fun fusing elements together to make a cohesive whole that was always greater than the sum of its parts.
And again he leaves no doubt that he can rock the house with his distinctive style whatsorever ! The title is to be taken as an ironic statement as it is hard to categorise his output...and then again, who needs categories anyways!

Modularz is a label focused on re-inventing American techno and concentrating mostly on the grey area where bothTechno & House music have no separation. The fusion between new elements mixed with older influences have a strong identity with label and by incorporating these subjects as well as the obsession with all things modular its given the label a niche identity among the techno and international dance community.

Full 3 years have passed since Indy Toureau released his last EP on Solee's imprint Parquet Recordings and after
remixes for Beroshima, Xenia Beliayeva or Johannes Heil he's finally back home on BlackFoxMusic.
"Melanchromantic" is a kind of "retro-new-wave-techno": melancholic AND romantic at the same time! With an
80s-infected electrotech-style, the perfetctly setted movie-samples and his emotional melodies the track pushes
himself on every technofloor to blow the speakers out and destroy it! In a crazy electronic suit a la Mr.Oizo
comes the remix of Stockholms Zoo Brazil: With releases on labels like Get Physical, Systematic or Great Stuff he
knows exactly how to produce a peaktime-burner. The remix of russia's new talents Polina & Zemtsov is for the
groovy "ass-shaking" part with their short nice sounds of the original melody and always looking forward to get
the crowd dancing! Berlins's well known DJs Thomas Lizzara & Jordan from the Ostfunk-Crew presenting their
interpretation with the thought to put it on the big openair-floors this summer. The warm sounds rotating in your
first ear to flow out from the second into the whole wide sunny world and maybe develop to THE hymn this year.
French mastermind Francois-Xavier Michel aka Millimetric, who already work with David Carretta, Horrorist or The
Hacker, turns it into a phat analog electrostyle with spacey russian female vocals.

Die drei Tracks Light of Day, Funtasia und Moving Shadow* sind schön deep und ziehen gut nach vorne; Garanten für Bewegung im Club.

Following his recent Roland TB-303 experiments for Absurd and his understated reworking of Scuba's 'The Hope", Berlin's Recondite has put together the debut release on boutique-label 'Trolldans", based in the city of Kontra-Musik. Melancholic and spellbounding sounds as always. Come's with a tribalish remix from the analogue techno act Skudge. Recondite's work stands on its own, feeling strangely divorced both from his previous output and especially from over two decades worth of acid house history. Vital Sales Points: Recondite - On Acid Top 14. The A12 motorway was wrapped in complete darkness. The lights of the windmills were blinking in the rhythm of the rotor blades passing by. They appeared just before sunrise. No one had ever seen this kind of creature ever before: red flashing, and bright shining alien butterflies attracted by the windmills.

The second vinyl sampler showcasing some of the highlights from Sect's recent compilation It's All For You sees Croatia's Jolka and Manchester's Casual Violence share the billing on this fantastic 10", pairing two huge tracks that feel like two sides of the same coin. Jolka's "Life Is Changing" is the more overtly bright of the two, utilising a jagged arpeggio and bright stabs which provide an intensly hypnotic backdrop to the track's monolithic beats. On the flipside, Casual Violence's "Acceptance Of The Fact At Hand" operates on a slightly more subtle level - its sweeping strings and soothing melody deceive you into thinking the track is lighter than it is, but the thundering kicks and concise percussion tell a different story, creating what is an organic, cavernous composition filled with rich textural nuance.

Italy's Gianni Sabato and Alfredo Caforio, collectively known as Rush, release this eagerly anticipated four tracker on Memento Records. Showcasing their love for both abstract and deep grooves, the duo deliver an ep influenced by classic house music, echoing the sounds of the landscapes of their native homeland. "Lemonade", a lively tech-house groovy track, is designed for the dancefloor: the bass goes hand in hand with the percussions leading the bubbly rhythm, with vocal samples occasionally breaking down the pace and uncanny sounds filling in the empty background. "Les Amours"'s moody intro developes into a kick-driven obscure track, while "Little Zoo"'s screaming voices precede a housey 8-minute tune built around catchy synth melodies. "Uzury Says"'s deep-house feeling is characterized by distorted vocals, acqueous percussions and atmospheric pads. The product of two separate minds, this ep is a great example of how different ideas work just perfectly well when the need to make unusual music translates itself into a research for unexpected moods
and song structures.

Scan Mode and Alvaro Sanchez, two well-known and talented Spanish Djs, come together to run the so-called Raw Rootz alliance, which is also a new Record label.
Under this name, they produce house music on the basis of sounds from the legendary Roland TR-808 and TR-909 drum machines.
With their first release of a classic house music track, it becomes clear the path the label has chosen to follow that is under the influence of disco and funky music.
The EP also includes two juicy remixes, one from Alex Under and another from Felipe Venegas.
Alex Under has become a living legend in the european techno scene. He has provided us with a powerful 128 bpms techno track conceived to be a killer on the dancefloors.
Felipe Venegas is both, one of the most representative musicians in Chile's electronic music scene and, a very active member of Cadenza. His definition of house music manifests through the mix of lots of percussions drums and culminates with the production of such a track, that surely will be acclaimed by all Cadenza fans!

Oshana's first EP release with Brouqade is reminiscent of summer and good times past. REMINISCE opens with the soulful monologue, "I don't write love songs". A rhythmical gem is transformed into a colorful crescendo of evolving synth notes and chugging percussion. An enchanting love story transcends the limits of time beyond the seasons to come. Wiping away the melancholy, Alejandro Vivanco builds his Remix around an organic bassline core - patient and to the point. The emotional finale of the EP begins with pads which take hold of you while the percussion leads you on an endless journey. The deep house groove of this track is bound to demand the attention of house lovers and techno fanatics alike. The complex rhythmic structure of Dana Ruh's remix punctuates the sultry atmosphere, created straight for the dance floor!

The Awakening is one of the most beautiful tracks from Gunne s album and has kind of a Massive Attack and Björk-Flavour.
