Techno Vinyl New Releases - News

R&S welcome Parisian Sacha Khalife AKA Shcaa with his new double headed single 'An Ungrateful Death / Pacific Gold', following up on his stellar EP on NYC's Blank Slate back in 2015, two killer releases through Archipel and a more recent LP on Sharingtones.

Abstract, deep and dripping with atmosphere, 'An Ungrateful Death' takes the listener on an epic trippy journey - sensuous rhythms and choppy guitars giddly colide while mumbled vocals offer a dreamy counterpoint before the whole piece transitions into an uneasily blissed out ambient coda. On the flip 'Pacific Gold' continues the abstraction, freeform guitar licks skitter and bounce around a loose limbed micro-house groove.

A producer, composer and guitarist based in Paris, Khalife's restless musicality manages to uniquely meld electronics with blues, house and jazz without seeming forced. "My music found its first legitimacy within the structure of house music, the grooves as rails to let free peculiar shades," he explains "I try to not allow my music to fall into mindless experimentations, hopefully the graphic rhythms justify their abstraction."

With 'An Ungrateful Death / Pacific Gold' sure to delight and confound dancefloors across the continent, it's going to be interesting to see where Shcaa takes his music next.

A re-release of this classic debut album by Christian Löffler from 2012. Comes with 180g vinyl, CD and poster.
Christian Löffler is co-founder of Ki Records and well known for his intense, deep moving sound with melancholic undertones. He started to play music at the age of 14. But living in a secluded region near the Baltic Sea, without a musical surrounding, he had to teach himself the essentials of making electronic music. After several stunning releases for Ki and Orphanear, the imprint of Dial's co-founder Pawel, his debut 'A Forest' is now being released through Ki.

Beatniks LDN’s first foray onto wax see’s minimal mainstay ADMNTi release a flavour filled EP with help from Niko Maxen and Casey Spillman. The A-side provides the bass driven original “Make It So”. With subtle elements dropping in and out, the lead track provides the vibe for Niko Maxen’s skippy remix following up with the perfect bounce. The B-side see’s “Riker” rear its head - a simple yet effective bassline with soothing pads is the ultimate bobbler. The second serving also see’s Casey Spillman enter the fray, his fast paced remix taking the synth elements to another level. All in all, half decent beats.

Cybordelics was founded in 1993 in Stuttgart, Germany. In the same year, Mike S., Milan Zemanec and Daniel Varga aka Cybordelics released their hit Adventures of Dama on Sven Väth's label Harthouse. The record climbed up the UK dance charts to the 2nd place. People from London to Germany,
especially in the legendary Omen Club in Frankfurt, danced to their techno anthems until the late afternoon. Today's artists like Ricardo Villalobos, Sven Väth, Gregor Tresher, Chris Liebing, Gerd Janson or Anthony Rother were at the Omen club when this record was played for the first time, and they still consider Adventures of Dama a milestone in techno history. 23 years later, the new Harthouse label begins 2016 with a Remix EP, featuring remixes by Ricardo Villalobos, Butch, Tuff City Kids, starting a new era of the Harthouse story.

New born label, ROWLE is ready to take you on a space trip around the universe. New life forms, new experiences, and of course a new sound coming from other planets. Already supported and played by: Raresh, Archie Hamilton, John Dimas, Dan Andrei, Shonky, Petre Inspirescu, East End Dubs, Rich NxT and Seb Zito. In A side we find the well known Jack Wickham with 'Aiol', a dancefloor track with endless rolling drums and some acid sounds inside. After that, a perfect bassline coming up from A2, the canadian talent Paolo Rocco made his best with his 'Vieux Velo'. Instead the B side starting with a more experimental track from the 'hardworking' V.I.C.A.R.I. where bass and Melodies are perfectly mixed together. Fourth track coming out from a new english mastermind, Bobby O'Donnell, that made a superb hypnotic and mental track that you can't overlook.
Wonderful artwork by Juli Jah makes this release 'out of this world'.

After one and a half year Ateq is back on Giegling with his second release and some more tropical brainstorming.

Kepler. makes the second contribution to Silencio's catalog with "Planetary Systems I".
With refined ethereal elements rendered from what is surely an eerie origin, "186f", is truly engaging. This track is fueled with a seductive synth heralded by haunting vocals that effectively whisper over its steady, punchy bass line. Meandering in the background is the type of idiophone sound one would associate with a hand-percussion triangle instrument. Its particular effect provides a complex, rolling rhythm that vibrates in a beautiful tone until its objective has been achieved.

On the B-side "452b" is a great track to open up a set with, gentle yet still energetic in how it introduces itself to the audience. It begins with a series of echoing sounds that rise and dive throughout, seemingly reflected off the surface of one's subconscious, in a satisfying manner. Accompanied by a deep pulsating bass line that accents its driving drums, this track will set the tone time and time again.
Imagine the dawning of a realization formed from an inspiring event in nature. The second track, "Luzon", features a laid back tropical tempo and samples that feel transported from a lush, rhythmic rainforest. Kepler expresses this vision within the confines of a catchy groove, utilizing subtle bird sounds and rattles that resonate over layers of atmospheric synth. This is emotional music meant to move a crowd or manufacture a sincere moment of clarity.

2nd output of the Beau Mot Plage collective. Here on this two tracker, they have chosen to put the light on Stellae, a young producer from south of France who has been dealing with his machines for nearly a decade. The two tracks on this EP showcase the last sound inspiration of this talented young man. Selected by the Beau Mot Plage crew, these two tracks are vivid pictures of a journey that stretches through the night; Lavirra could be peak time of it and Kfort both the warming up and the afterhour.

Pierre Codarin continues with his fifth installment of his vinyl
series.

Leftroom continue their rejuvenated, rich vein of subversive form with this dynamite 12' from a man who needs no introduction whatsoever: Alex Arnout.

Long time Leftroom kindred spirit and close friend, first time label artist, here we find the Dogmatik bossman in stone cold groove mode with three crystalline originals and a powerful remix from fellow London-based craftsmasn Voigtmann.

'Phantom Power' ignites the EP with pure signal energy. Unhurried in its gradually twinkling charm, what begins as a dark dubby sound soon flips into a timeless rising harmonic hook that's unabashed in its strong themes of uplift and positivity. Watch as you floor turns to jelly when those chords sweep in. Then drop the Voigtmann remix and watch as every single limb loosens up to that distinctive, fluid dark late nightLondon funk that the Toi Toi Musik founder has made his own.

'Distorted Lens' brings up the rear, leading the B-side with bubbly jacking charm. Molten in its groove shape and flow, it's peppered with vast emotional washes that sweep in and arrest the senses when you least expect it.

Last but not least, 'Ssub Space' closes the show with a crafty flip from bubbling to wriggling. Here we find Alex fixes our focus on the dirtier bottom end of the track. Shifty, switchyand just on the right side of tippy, if this isn't moving your lower lumber, you need to reconnect with a dancefloor very very soon.

Dorisburg Returns To Boss Records With A High Quality Tight Modern Club Release As We Would Expect From Him!. On The A-side 'internet Tension', He Weaves An Augmented And Hypnotic Sonic Fabric. Straight Forward Grooves Merged With Enigmatic Melodies That Leads Your Mind To Abandoned Server Rooms And Haunted Programming Code. A More Elaborated Rhythm Is What Hits You At The Flipside With 'rytm804'. Spacey And Percussive Drumming Paired With Lamenting Bells And Emotive Harmonies Constitute A Hymn That's Otherworldly. Sonic Landscapes That Evoke Feelings Of Futuristic Seances And Interstellar Shamanism. Another Strong Boss Musik Release!!

A new year, a new VisionQuest excursion: rising Romanian Floog is our navigator for this mission and he's coordinated a precision interstellar trip to ease us into a new season.

The timing couldn't be better. Momentum made via his debuts on the likes of Crossed Grooves and Atipic, 'Suprapus' is Floog's boldest, furthest reaching EP to date as he continues to map his own name around the cosmos.

'Suprapus' takes the lead. Romanian for superimpose, it lives up to its title as layers weave with natural ebb and flow. The sense of timelessness is another strong superimposed weave as we're immersed in a haze of foundation elements and a strong rolling funk while driven by future focused beatcraft and production.

This theme is continued on 'Staring At The Sun'. Another wistful piece that stares up with hope but runs with such groove hypnosis you lose any temporal senses, it's both heads-down and shades-down as Floog rolls out into the centre of solar system.

Finally 'Premiza' brings us back home. Darker, gruffer, trippier and relentlessly driving. There's some serious noir magic at play on the tweaked drums, creepy arpeggios and overall sense of tension. Transition in 2019 complete, but don't get too comfortable... Another VisionQuest excursion is awaiting imminently.
