With a sum total of 2 12's released for Samurai Horo and Red Seal, Theme has a sparse but vital discography. Fusing Dub Techno, Ambient and Half Time Drum and Bass, the Theme style developed as a uniquely Berlin influenced take on 170 BPM's post autonomic developing progression.

Following a 2 year gap since the last release, the Theme debut LP 'Passages' builds on this style by accentuating and extending the ambient 'passages' and experimenting with beat structures to create an intricately constructed and textured journey. There is nods to the form that has made the Theme style stand out (Passage 6, 8, 9), beautiful ambient tracks that soothe and guide (Passage 1, 4, 7, 10) but the glue that affirms Passages as an accomplished long player comes from percussive workouts that hover around various BPM's and genres (Passage 2, 3, 5).

Passages should really feel like the pinnacle of a journey for Theme, but instead it feels like the start of an all new chapter in musical form for a musical nomad who has found solace in leaving behind any constrictions and templates.

If you listen closely to Passage 11, you hear the sound of a new life beating from the womb of it's mother, a fitting metaphor for the birth of the new Theme.

Telemorph002 is a collaboration between UNC (aka Dubit) and Reggy van Oers (RVO). Two tracks consisting of several live recordings by using the (D)ronin, an electroacoustic instrument.

UNC is the sub-personality and techno pseudonym of Pier Alfeo who explores the innovative sphere of electronic music. In the late UNC has teamed up with Claudio PRC to collaborate on an EP for The God's Planet (TGP). Playing in clubs around Europe including Tresor, UNC has been able to showcase a
perfectly designed live set to his audiences. Since the beginning of summer 2015, UNC has been DJing in a residency at Sound Department in Taranto, Italy alongside Sleeparchive, TR-101, Heiko Laux, and Adam X to name a few. To start of 2016, UNC will launch a new label of his own 'UNC Series' which will feature collaborations between likeminded artists who are all motivated by the art of creation. To investigate the more exploratory side of the brain, UNC also works under the alias Dubit who released a full-length A/V album, 'Fragmenti' this past March using field recordings from all around Europe. The full-length feature film is coming soon. Dubit, also runs Soluxion Labs for sound design and mastering.

Reggy Van Oers (RVO) has shown himself to be a DJ of class and a highly respected producer over the years. With a clear philosophy on the creation and manipulation of sound we can find his productions played by a large variety of artists across the globe. It is no surprise he is often asked to release on a wide range of labels which also paved the way to collaborate with well respected artists. His music has seen releases on labels like The Gods Planet, Informa, Affin and Green. It is safe to say his deep, minimalistic and atmospheric sound has definitely not gone unnoticed.With his platform Telemorph, a tight bond between all artists involved, he creates a special place for solo releases and fruitful collaborations in order to expand their distinct musical journey. To extend this philosophy even further he founded Morph, with which he brings that same vision of sound to the embodiment of his concept. The artistic freedom and (label)familyspirited feel of the nights allow artists to be fully immersed into their craft. Mindset and artistry are the key pillars of these events.

In sonic and literal tone, the record forms a stark reflection on Justin K Broadrick Brummie stomping grounds, using demolished tower blocks as cues for some of the album's most affective moments, such as the wrecking ball assault of Bayley Tower (New Mix), the rubbled rolige of Stoneycroft Tower, or the 'marish zumby techno lurch of Bromford Bridge Estate, and all in a way that surely dovetails with the perceptions of anyone who has lived in a built p British area, or anywhere else with lots of
concrete and little sunlight.The other half of the tracks are taken from and titled in reference to Antibiotic Armageddon - the inevitable point when pill-gobbling citizens of the world are no longer protected against old viruses, and new ones. The tone of these cuts is understandably bleak af, too. Tamiflu dry-wretches a windswept passage of bummed-out dub techno breaks, where Squalene (New Mix])glumly follows suit with the clammy synth malaise of Ethylene Glycol and the knee-buckled crawler Thimerosal, which sounds like one of his Godflesh tracks in the process of terrifying itself to death.s

The warmth. Yes, above all else the warmth: Sometimes moist and dripping as in Safe Harbour, sometimes blisteringly dry as in Variant. It's no easy task, giving cold, dead machines warm breaths. And no-one quite does it like Fluxion.

Without this legacy, the contemporary body of electronic music would look different and make very different sounds. With the Release of Vibrant Forms III, Subwax Bcn takes it one step further. Fluxion's Vibrant Forms III album remind us of the timelessness of truly great music, never mind the genre.

The A Side Song for Masahiro' is dedicated to Masahiro Ueda, a DJ and friend who graced the BK scene by way of Japan. It's a bass heavy tune with melodic pads floating in the forefront amongst the occasional cheering sample. It's perfect for either opening or closing a set midsummer. In contrast, the B Side opens with Flow On.' With its distorted kicks, relentless claps and hypnotic bells one could imagine hearing it on a nightmarish carnival ride...fit that into a set. If Psychic Health's self-titled debut album took the lessons the LA duo learned in the teeming clubs of Berlin and Melbourne, their latest LP, Exclusion, look inward, a document of the duo tunneling down the studio wormhole. As such, Exclusion is a remarkably dynamic effort, adeptly jumping between evocative ambience ("Jamaica 88," "Ryso") and equally expansive dance floor fair.
Examples of the latter, such as the album's obvious centerpiece and titular track, Exclusion, document Gabriel Mounsey and Devon Steffens's harnessing modular beast technology for peak techno utility, finding a clear thoroughfare between the soaring strings of Derrick May's classic Transmat releases and Ostgut Ton's current EBM-inflected precision.
As you'd expect from Mounsey's background in film composition, Exclusion whirls with imagery. It's a Los Angeles album, but focuses on raw beauty of the city at night—the lights in the distance, and the desolate downtown streets where kickdrums often waft from disused warehouses. While their debut album opened notable doors for the group, landing distribution from Hard Wax and featuring in the Netflix series Sense8, Exclusion is an altogether masterful turn for Psychic Health, their complete studio immersion easing the listener into deeply hypnotic states.

It is one of the real treasures in life, sometimes is easy to find but very difficult to retain, however when you have mutual interests in one true love, friendship can last forever.

Corda Ep is Anton Kubikov's second solo release on Pro-Tez Records. It's a sultry, padded Ep that makes use of a slowed-down template before covering it in swathes of dub pads and a pulsating square bass lines - reminding of an imaginary midnight sound jam between Maurizio and Larry Heard. It is a robust and propulsive release for all dub techno heads. Anton is emerging once again with his own utterly individual dub emissions with a touch of proper minimalism to it. Available as 180 gram vinyl only release.

The elusive STL returns with a 3-track EP on his newfound home of Dark Matters. 'Nonzero Sonics' is the sixth label release to date, and their first to emerge this year. Stephan Laubner has enjoyed an accomplished career with releases on labels including Perlon, Smallville and Echospace. Despite a scarcity of interviews and public appearances, his reputation as a devoted audiophile and hardware enthusiast has afforded him a loyal following in underground music circles. This release marks the beginning of a new chapter with Amirali's Dark Matters imprint. 'Nonzero Sonics' explores dark and twisted sentiments in avant-garde structures, consistently executed with impeccable detail. 'No More Words' meditates on elements of dub and techno in an extended form, whilst 'Smooth Selector' establishes a stripped back groove replete with sub frequencies and cavernous echoes. Closing track 'Out Of The One' places peculiar harmonies in a tranquil framework, exemplifying the diversity of a producer with true dedication to his craft.

A newborn imprint with an obscure name makes the perfect home for Kozo to showcase some of his studio work under the ooodjkoz alter ego.
Uncle Tom's Tune needs all its 13 minutes to develop, with the melodic pattern fading in and out the wobbly baseline, like hiding from the sci fi sounds scattered throughout the track. Crafted to please crowds that enjoy to be cooked slowly, Milly Van Illy takes it to a more dynamic pace, stiching the groove beneath the percussions and storing all the energy into the hi hats. As for Lady Gargara, we're gratified with a twisted cocktail of chopped voices stuttering on broken drum loops. Uncommon as it may sound, Drag And Drob EP is here to add some spice to your record collection.

Following recent releases from Vakula, Alex Danilov and Andrey Zots, Arma turns its focus towards the unique, transcendental sound of Hypnobeat. The project has its roots in the DIY industrial scene of Frankfurt in the early '80s, spearheaded by Perlon affiliate James Dean Brown (Narcotic Syntax) in collaboration with artists including Tobias Freund, Victor Sol and Pietro Insipido. Aside from a few underground cassette releases, the project was mainly a live venture made up of polyrhythmic workouts on an array of drum machines and effects units, long before the practice became so fashionable. After many years in the wilderness, Hypnobeat received a shot in the arm thanks to the increased interest in obscure tapes from the early industrial period. Given her own modern explorations of raw drum machine science, Brown invited Helena Hauff to join him in performing Hypnobeat live with a setup that revolves around three 808s and an assortment of other rhythm boxes, a formidable arsenal of effects, and no preconceived plan. As well as shows at Les Siestes Electroniques and CTM (where the duo shook the walls of Berghain), Brown and Hauff were invited to perform for the Save Festival at Arma17 in Moscow in March 2015. It is from this set that the material on Ritual Fire Dance is gathered, aptly titled as the interlocking percussive rumble takes on a cyclical, tribal quality as aligned with traditional music as it is with contemporary electronics. The recording has been edited into two sections that adorn each side of the 12" peppered with enthusiastic approval from the crowd to affirm the intensity of the moment this incendiary music was performed live. As well as the widespread vinyl release there will be a limited cassette featuring the entire unedited performance, for those seeking the full hit of the trip. Following a two year hiatus, bass purveying record label Soundman Chronicles is back with another EP to add to its collection. Helmed by Wisdom Teeth label head K-LONE, the three track release also features a remix from low-key, Bristolian duo O$VMV$M. A labour of love which has, according to Soundman Chronicles head honcho Parris, taken a year to complete', as both he and Josiah Gladwell aka K-LONE searched hard for a safe pair of remixing hands - Old Fashioned borrows from old school dub influences and breathes new life into the Basic Channel pioneered dub techno sound. Opening with the sparse title track 'Old Fashioned', which boasts warm pads and a dub techno framework spanning ten whole minutes, the EP then accommodates a buoyant four and a bit minute roller - 'In The Dust Of This Planet', characterised by a weighty kick and hard-hitting drums before the remainder of the b-side adopts a more stripped-back approach and Young Echo members O$VMV$M lend the title track an altogether more atmospheric feel in their remix, complete with a fuzzy lo-fi clap and dainty series of hi hats. A welcome return from both K-LONE and Soundman Chronicles, Old Fashioned finds a home on a label that's expertly mastered the ability to look back as much as it looks forward.

2529KM Records is a new dub techno label created by two friends and artists - Piotr Bejnar aka N1KT (Warsaw, PL) and Leon Lolishvili aka Boyd Schidt (Tbilisi, GE). 2529 KM stands for the distance between Warsaw and Tbilisi. The idea of the label to release compilations with artists from different countries and nationalities. Through music the label wants to unite different cultures and to create a group of friends all over the world, who support themselves in music and life.

Fabian Winkels and Ben Balance's Ho Do Ri project has been responsible for some of the best minimal house workouts of the last two years. Fresh off the back of a contribution to the V/A 12' 'EXCURSIONS' # 3 via Phuture Shock Excursions, and a release on Talahachi earlier this year, Nottingham producer Cyclonix returns to the fold with his debut EP for Phuture Shock Musik entitled 'Alien Drug Store' EP.

As with his previous offerings - that have found a home on the likes of Red Rack'ems Smugglers Inn, Horn Wax, Ruff Draft, plus his co-owned End of Label Boss imprint - Cyclonix continues to explore the deeper and more leftfield spectrum of underground dance music with a futuristic vision. Made up of two original tracks, 'Alien Drug Store' EP draws on a host of electronic influences ranging from deep house to Detroit beatdown, alongside subtle hints of acid house and dub techno, whilst both retain the producers trademark sci-fi aesthetic. The release is completed with a sterling remix of 'You'd Better Not' from a pioneering legend of the UK underground - 4Hero's Marc Mac, under his Nu Era guise.

Heading up the A side is 'You'd Better Not', a slow-grooving techno cut bolstered by punchy kicks and a rubbery bassline, where foreboding sci-fi vox samples are interspersed with dubbed out chords and crunchy offbeat snares, as the arrangement shifts from one mood to another. The sub-aquatic vibes of 'Two Face' follows, which is set to a hypnotic two chord pattern, 4/4 kicks and a lashing of moody synths that gradually entices you into deeper realms through the aid of rippling hi-hats and rhythmic percussion with a submersed quality. On the flip is Marc Mac's Nu Era take on the 12's lead cut 'You'd Better Not', who transforms the menacing original into a blast of uplifting broken techno, where the soulful musicality of sustained strings and piano chords complement snippets of the original's vocal sample that drifts atop adept drum programming, bouncy synth bass and a flurry of glistening synth melodies.

For this vinyl the label presents Giuseppe Cennamo (owner of the label) with his Vademcum, then Yanee, already known producer from Argentina, and then on the B side we have Alessio Viggiano, one of the most talented minimal producers from Italy, and the newcomer Dub Capsule with his pure classy tune No Certain.

Recorded in Melbourne and Berlin 2015-17 by Samuel Karmel, Carla dal Forno and Tarquin Manek, its title is instructive...the spiky eldritch song-spells of previous album Hide Before Dinner have become more dubwise, immersive and potently psychedelic. Euphoric even, but paranoid and laden with self-doubt.

Wolfskuil Ltd returns after a hiatus of a year with a heavy hitter from Italian sound designer Edanticonf. This vinyl only release is a very personal statement from an artist known for his deep, dreamy and dare we say trancey take on electronic music. He made his mark in the music scene through pivotal releases on Silent Season and M_Rec Ltd.

His profile fits perfectly as Wolfskuil's Limited sublabel is dedicated to left of centre releases aimed at leftfield dancefloors. 1989.1 is a perfect setbuilder or afterhour anthem with it's lush string arrangements and offbeat groove. It's counterpart 1989.2 is more meaty especially in the sub domain and could offer a brilliant peaktime relieve for more experienced floors.

Following Rhythm Bu¨ro's debut release last year, the Kiev-based label has returned with a successive RB002. In a similar vein to their first release, this release features Vero and Na Nich as well as a welcome addition from an up-and-coming Ukrainian producer, Lobanov K. A2 finds a remix from the notable and much-applauded 'DJ's DJ,' Eric Cloutier. Sonically, the record ranges from deeper, housey motifs and dubbed-out techno ventures on the A-side to electro-esque and slightly weirder break-beat expositions on the B-side. 'Salute' is Vero's debut as a solo artist and to commemorate the occasion, the track gets a proper rework by one of techno's prominent underground heroes, Eric Cloutier. The A-side represents the deeper side of what RB002 has to offer, and both its tunes prove that the record could become a long-living staple of a house DJ's record bag as well as a techno head's. The B-side takes a different turn: Na Nich's offering is a track reminiscent of his drum and bass roots, with similar ethos of space and break, yet paced to appeal to the contemporary techno dance floor. Rhythm Bu¨ro newcomer Lobanov K. gives a fine example of an explosive and spaced out electro-bomb, the old- school homage here is clear yet the tempo and final touches are indeed contemporary. Gate146 is a future classic, it won't come as any surprise when we hear this one in the sets of some of the most notorious diggers as well as some of techno's top selectors.

A Strangely Isolated Place was responsible for releasing some of the most beguiling and magical music of 2016, including superb full-length excursions from 36 and Merrin Karras. Predictably, this full-length from regular collaborators Christopher 'Lav' Landin and Ludvig "Purl" Cimbrelius is rather good. It was inspired by a large number of field recordings Landin made while holidaying in Greece back in 2014, which Cimbrelius combined with his own pianos, beats and electronic textures. After some to-ing and fro-ing, they ended up with a set packed full of evocative ambient and electronica pieces that match melodies and chords to the gentle rhythms of nature.

FIRST FULL-LENGTH IN SEVENTEEN YEARS FROM CHAIN REACTION /FORCE INC. LEGENDS.

Ever since their initial singles were released in the mid-1990s and became international calling cards for the Chain Reaction label, the Porter Ricks duo of Thomas Köner and Andy Mellwig have represented that crucible point in which techno music leaked into new social environments and became the background music for cutting-edge cultural critique.

Their submerged 'scuba' sound, presented in dark tone colors and reverberating to infinity, is now instantly identifiable as one of the 'soundmarks' of Berlin club culture. Just as importantly, it is still a palpable aftershock of a pre-millenial genre explosion that saw deep dub, shimmering post-rock, abstract hip-hop and art-damaged noise all drinking from the same well of inspiration.

For proof of Porter Ricks' enduring legacy, look no further than the fact that 'dub techno' is now a stylistic movement that has expanded far beyond the confines of Berlin and the Basic Channel / Chain Reaction label alliance (where Mellwig's mastering skills also played a starring role). Lurid traces of PR's aesthetic can now be found in the work of producers like Andy Stott and Miles Whittaker, showing the potential for the duo's unique 'aquatic' techniques to be applied to a variety of different musical contexts.

Their new LP on Tresor, Anguilla Electrica, may be their first full-length release in seventeen full years, but it radiates with confidence and with a clarity and intensity rarely seen in a world so oversaturated with communications noise. It's made clear at once that it's a continuation of a sonic ideal rather than a tribute to what has already been achieved: the duo is not idly sitting back while their newer acolytes do their talking for them.

This new LP is well worth the wait and is a life-affirming one in an uncertain and perilous time, drowning out daily anxieties like a rush of incoming surf - yet it is far more invigorating than relaxing. True to the Porter Ricks tradition, it will be just as exciting hearing this music as it will be to experience what new cultural mutations it leaves in its wake.

Last year, Hieroglyphic Being (producer of astral electronic explorations touching house, techno, industrial, avant-jazz and noise), percussionist and producer Sarathy Korwar (who fused traditional folk music of the Sidi community in India with jazz and electronics on his debut album Day To Day' released by Ninja Tune in collaboration with The Steve Reid Foundation), and Shabaka Hutchings (the highly respected British saxophonist and co-founder of Sons Of Kemet, Mercury-nominated The Comet Is Coming and Shabaka & The Ancestors) - recorded a 100% live improvised session at the iconic Lightship95 studio moored at Trinity Buoy Wharf, London. They recorded over 2.5 hours of music across 2 sessions, with 90 minutes streamed live via NTS.

After 2 successful, reputation forming EP's (The Descent Chapter I & II), enigmatic musical entity Pact Infernal re emerge with their debut LP 'Infernality' for Horo. Equal parts horror and simmering mysticism, the Pact Infernal sound has collected a base of devoted listeners including musical contemporaries like Lucy, Samuel Kerridge, Trepaneringsritualen, & Oake.

'Infernality' is an accomplished coming of age for Pact Infernal, a conceptual LP that brings together the elements that worked so well on both their EP's into a robust, coherent statement. Beckoning, sinuous rhythms combine with smoky ambience and subtly anthemic riffs. The haunting percussion that has been a highlight of their past work often takes the lead, and in 'Death & Rebirth', Pact Infernal have come up with their most infectious music so far. After the timely and well received reissue of 'Upekah' in 2013, son.sine is back with new material for the first time in 15 years on the Delsin label. A maven of slow release, organic dub techno, these new tracks prove son.sine still has plenty to say. Up first, 'A Candle' is a super deep and seductive track with big hits, bouncy drums and rich, rounded synth stabs that hypnotise and warm for nine great minutes. 'An Island' is then a more heady and atmospheric track with propulsive, lumpy percussion, vinyl crackle and textural static that sooths the brain and lowers you into a more reflective state of mind. Finally, 'A Room' is the most techno of the lot - with wobbly synths, clacking drums and lots of horizontal pads it rolls on and on, deeper and deeper as distant pads evolve from feeling rueful to the edge of unease. It's a masterclass in tension and long form dub music that proves son.sine should have never gone away in the first place.

Atmospheric and ambient dub master Yagya serves up Stars and Dust, his seventh full length album and second on Delsin. It finds the Icelandic artist perfectly pair melody and minimalism to create ten more tender tracks that will sooth both body and mind with a range of very real emotions. Jacob Long's newest recordings under the Earthen Sea moniker deepen his compelling synthesis of shadowy rhythms and opaque atmospherics, drawing on the most potent qualities of melancholic ambient and dub techno.

An Act Of Love' follows 2015's Ink,' released via Ital's Lovers Rock imprint,
and was inspired by internal tribulations and the experience of exploring an empty nocturnal metropolis. Careful waves of tones drift and decay, beats materialize and pulse across twilit landscapes, a noir mood reigns.

Given Long's background as bassist for revelatory tribal-punk trio Mi Ami, An Act Of Love' showcases a musician in the midst of transcendent redefinition, crafting an immersive language of texture and motion.

This record was made over the course of the most emotionally difficult and stressful year in my life thus far. As such, it is both a reflection of that experience and also something that gave me space to begin working through issues to see a way forward, to a better place both psychically and physically.

An idea that was also central to my thoughts while creating the album was the concept and reality of being out in the city at night, wandering around a large urban area after dark - the contrast of empty streets but with life still going on all around, and the openness and possibilities that can bring. This music was an attempt to capture that feeling.

Comprising 8 tracks and featuring vocal contributions from a diverse range of Berlin based artists, as well as for the first time Deadbeat himself, this 10th outing sees Monteith elegantly showcasing his wide ranging musical interests with a striking new sense of gravity and cutting lyricism not seen in his previous works.

A wise old curmudgeon once said that all great art is born of great suffering, and if that sentiment holds true this album has had plenty of fuel for it's proverbial fire.' Says Monteith of the writing process . The last month of 2014 and first half of this year were not kind to me and my family to say the least. Thankfully I was able to turn to music and writing to work through those feelings over the last year, and found some absolutely lovely people to voice them when I wasn't 't up to the task of expressing them myself. In 2010 DimbiDeep Music initiated by Matthias Springer and Oliver Roos started with the first release "Morgennebel EP" by M. Rahn into a special journey of ambient and dub techno soundscapes, surrounded by a lot of delays, noises and reverbs. Just seven 12" records and about thirty digital releases later it is time to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Diametral sublabel. Swayzak returns with Gestures of a Sycophant. After a back catalogue of severely epic proportions (The seminal album Snowboarding in Argentina for example), A legendary Fabric residency & Mix CD, and a relationship with Tresor that spawned epic gigs and an LP, not to have released a record since 2012 is nothing short of criminal. 2017 then sees Beatnik Boulevard deliver two long overdue tracks of those big room stylings that has become synonymous with the name Swayzak . Even as you succumb to the bass pressure, the oceans of detail and programming flourishes that only come with decades spent in those worldwide techno bunkers bring to mind the pedigree of this release. It was once declared that Swayzak is a Techno Dinosaur - looking back that seems a justified moniker to go with the guttural, brobdingnagian sounds of these compositions. Slow moving though the spawning may have been, the monster has once again awakened.

In the midst of a busy year, full of wildly-varied accomplishments, David Lieske (aka Carsten Jost) has surprised us all with an unannounced 11-track full-length album on Dial-- his first since 2000's "You Don't Need A Weatherman..." In the interim he's kept busy curating countless releases on Dial, the label he co-runs with Peter "Lawrence" Kersten, celebrated a 15 year label anniversary with an all-encompassing 2LP/various artists'

compilation, released a gallery-edition album of his black ambient collaboration Misanthrope CA with Robert Kulisek, "Deathbridge" and launched a new magazine project (also with Kulisek) named after the speed of light i.e. "299792458m/s". All this activity, even after his recent trans-atlantic relocation from Berlin to New York City, mainly to open the American branch of Mathew Gallery has surely taken us all by welcome surprise.
Out of all of the Dial house and techno artists, Carsten Jost has always represented the most precise brand of exquisitely doom-laden house, laced with equally strong doses of melancholy and beauty. Here on "Perishable Tactics", Lieske runs through his distinctively stealthy low-slung beat-mospheres, leaning towards a decidedly low-lit and sultry space, but mixed with a fresh, gently arc-ing feeling of romance and dare I say itLove() Tellingly he's seen it fit to include 2007's "Love"-one of his best e.p. tracks from a split release with Efdemin. But while "Love" represents a climbing and yearning towards a place where love might reside, the remaining new tracks debuting here seem to represent a place where this love actually exists. This feeling is woven into his deep, medium tempo, detroit-inflected house rhythms, accented with crystalline keys, disembodied voices at times and gently soaring strings. While anger may be less in the forefront here it is important to notice that these tracks are ripe with the balance of joy and unease inherent in house. There is definitely a newfound languidity here that feels particularly like a moment shared by two (perhaps amongst many) but the atmosphere still remains decidedly pensive. See "Ambush" with it's strolling beat, moody yet sweet chords and chilling atmosphere later joined by thunder cracking in an almost-approving-manner a safe-distance away.
Of course diehard fans will find satisfaction knowing that Lieske's delectable angst hasn't completely abated. Title track "Perishable Tactics" takes a disarmingly peaceful setting and rolls a heavy fog over it to herald a sure-to-arrive fate that awaits us all. (See also "Army Green".). But with "Dawn Patrol" the whispering hi-hat and gently clanking rhythm offset by rolling strings marries the old and new Carsten Jost most successfully. All of this atmosphere bookended by ambient intro and outro tracks by Misanthrope CA make for a perfectly foreboding, elegant and deliciously dark new album release by Carsten Jost.

One month after the release of 981 Mb RSD EP, we are glad to introduce you to the new Molecule's album: 60° 43' Nord (Deluxe Edition). Some would associate the sounds of the waves to heat and relaxation and rest assured, we're part of them. That being so, some others visualize the sea as a wide playground from which they can pick up the echos to turn them into a deep sound. That is precisely the case of Molecule who decided to record the wild voices of the Atlantic Ocean aboard a 90 metres long fishing boat. The result is made of powerful and danceable techno beats ("8 ZL 40), tracks that will take you directly to the Atlantic's depths ("Abysses"), and harmonious moments of time off ("Le Jardin' or Soleil Bleu"). The whole of the tracks is captivating and flows naturally as we listen to it. You'll find the song Hébrides, present on the 981 Mb EP, as well as the original version of Rockall that you might have heard already as a live version. My So-Called Friends tells the story of a sincere and vulnerable young woman facing an inner battle between excessiveness and self-restraint. These drugs they are making me so sad I can't stop taking them.

A2 is a testament of Gracioppo's focus on maintaining a balance between songwriting and sound design.

Enlisted on remix duties, the always excellent Fred P flawlessly Reshapes Gracioppo's A1 into a hymn suited for the early morning comedowns.
Fred Ps vibrant pads resonate up and down in frequency and wrap the wavering vocal in warmth and comfort.

Ever since their initial singles were released in the mid-1990s and became international calling cards for the Chain Reaction label, the Porter Ricks duo of Thomas Köner and Andy Mellwig have represented that crucible point in which techno music leaked into new social environments and became the background music for cutting-edge cultural critique.

Their submerged 'scuba' sound, presented in dark tone colors and reverberating to infinity, is now instantly identifiable as one of the 'soundmarks' of Berlin club culture. Just as importantly, it is still a palpable aftershock of a pre-millenial genre explosion that saw deep dub, shimmering post-rock, abstract hip-hop and art-damaged noise all drinking from the same well of inspiration.

For proof of Porter Ricks' enduring legacy, look no further than the fact that 'dub techno' is now a stylistic movement that has expanded far beyond the confines of Berlin and the Basic Channel / Chain Reaction label alliance (where Mellwig's mastering skills also played a starring role). Lurid traces of PR's aesthetic can now be found in the work of producers like Andy Stott and Miles Whittaker, showing the potential for the duo's unique 'aquatic' techniques to be applied to a variety of different musical contexts.

Their new LP on Tresor, Anguilla Electrica, may be their first full-length release in seventeen full years, but it radiates with confidence and with a clarity and intensity rarely seen in a world so oversaturated with communications noise. It's made clear at once that it's a continuation of a sonic ideal rather than a tribute to what has already been achieved: the duo is not idly sitting back while their newer acolytes do their talking for them.

This new LP is well worth the wait and is a life-affirming one in an uncertain and perilous time, drowning out daily anxieties like a rush of incoming surf - yet it is far more invigorating than relaxing. True to the Porter Ricks tradition, it will be just as exciting hearing this music as it will be to experience what new cultural mutations it leaves in its wake.

After the last release in november 2009, Resoe has decided to relaunch Baum again. In the last couple of years Resoe has been really busy, and did not have the time to take care of the label. He has released his debut album and 12"s on Echocord, Echocord Colour, Pattern Repeat and Curle recordings since the last release in 2009. Resoe has decided that 2012 should be the year to spend time on his label again, and to do that he decided to use some of the old artwork, and redesign the design concept of the label. The future music profile of Baum will still be Deep Dub Techno, but there could come some releases that would fit under another genre. Cottam returns to the eponymous label that started his musical journey with a couple of first for the label - more than two tracks and a step away from the reworks that have usually characterised this label to more original work with a minimum of samples, all with a nod to Paul's continued struggle with illness.

Raising the temperature, Heat Stroke has a dub techno vibe, mixing classic house drums with crunchy percussion and disembodied voices for a tripped-out old school Chicago feel.

Lymph Nodes drops the pace and drops the bass, an almost unmasterable bassline mixes with far-easten strings and percussion for a heavyweight head-nodder that builds an unsettling vibe, proper haunted house.

Wall of Sound is nothing to do with Phil Spector but is a real builder, starting like (proper) minimal house and working the percussion & effects, with warning shouts, ghostly cries and ethereal voices that spin in &, out of the mix. A real change of mood track that will freak out the floor without resorting to obvious build-and- drop tactics.

Introducing Klorin, a collaboration between Kenton Slash Demon and Norin, also known as the lead singer of Swedish synth-pop trio Lust For Youth. Their debut EP 'Noncompliance' floats inbetween industrial hypnotic techno and dark ambient, created in a number of early morning sessions in Kenton Slash Demon's Copenhagen studio. "We were fascinated by the idea of combining something that was almost primal or tribe like rhythmically with an atmosphere that felt tecnologically advanced and futuristic - aiming to capture a feeling of being detached from society in an industrialized, achromatized and modern world.
