Techno Vinyl New Releases - News

Since the release of RFR 014 Joannes has remained a quality source of solid techno. With this four track EP he proves his sonic versatility.
„Kiss“ sounds like a lucid dream, when you have spent the nights sleeping upon Robert Hood’s „Internal Empire“ for some time. A respectful homage to Detroit’s grandmaster, combining everything what made and makes techno so unique for decades.

The second track remains true to the minimal approach of this EP. Pictures of a humid rainforest, only sparsely lit by daylight, through whose overgrown paths you’re cutting your way with a machete. Certainly not a place for a „Date”, rather a spot for minimal techno in 90s garments.

A touch of tribal, Chicago infused percussions and gentle melodies are all that it takes to elect „Love“ as one of the highlights of this EP. A wonderful start for those often-underrated record flipsides.
Despite its title, „Hate“ might be the most accessible track of this EP. If you are into melodic Detroit techno with dash of…., you may fall in love with this one and hardly get away from it.

Deep Techno from Japan, comes with a DJ Shufflemaster Remix on the flip

Tokyo's finest techno/house label Vis Rev Set owned by Tresvibes Soundsystem released its 4th EP VRS004
Nord. Featuring essential but minimal structured tracks by Vieux Renard, as known as Montreal's Guillaume Coutu Dumont. This title is his very first attempt as Guillaume's latest solo endeavor which he cited that it was time for him to return to his den and begin crafting his next magical shenanigans.

Four high-pressure modern techno explorations from Stereociti on his second release as Waveguide. 'Venera' builds on driving kicks with tense percussion and a dreamy mid-track breakthrough, while 'Zond' goes in a more abstract direction, matching its offbeat rhythm to eerie synths and modulating atmospherics. Things go for the gut on the B-side, the dub and industrial textures of 'Rosetta' and 'Philae' ready for the most visceral of dancefloors.

One sided – Live extract from Mid-Wooder & Mik Izif. Old school acid Hardcore with a very Cold Rush beginning of the track :) LTD 100 copies !

A four track, vinyl only EP, that falls into an unspecified subgenre of techno with hypnotic and atmospheric influences, complete with a cinematic touch. Side A is slow and atmospheric, while side B is dancefloor oriented and focused on building ideas/themes using the track structure. The highlight of the EP is ”Never Relax”, which is a track inspired by the struggle of producing music in residential areas.

Up next on Pleasure Club we have the debut EP from label owner Bobby. Intergalactic, interdimensional compositions which, if given the chance, could provide suitable soundtracks to a space race. Fusing the sounds of techno, breaks and classic tech-house, all three tracks are primed and ready for dance-floor detonation. May the source be with you...

Draconian Steps brings together Jeremy Rodriguez and Ron Morelli for the first of 2 - 12''s under the name ''Circus of Death''. The tracks were recorded at Devon Analogue Studio in the UK.

Wrangled in from a weekend of long studio jams. Bleak over driven analogue business from start to finish. 3 - 909 cuts crunched out and pushed way into the red. Limited edition!

Collaborating on the newest release are fellow Italian's Divide & Oisel who have released on labels such as Oscar Mulero's Warm Up, TWR72's Float, Pfirter's MindTrip and Oisel's own Evod Music.

Expect to hear experimental cuts of hypnotic, modular techno grooves wrapped up in atmospheric sound design...

New from Dreams (Apron, Private Selection)
Two killer broken techno cuts for fans of Surgeon, Batu and Karenn
Early support from Carista and Identified Patient (‘Paraxotica’ featured in his recent Crack Mag mix)

In 2022, Dreams launched a new label, Dance Data, which has quickly gained the attention of the underground dance music community - and set the stage with a new two track EP called ‘Paraxotica/Vessel’.

Florian Kupfer is back. This time he shows a glimpse into his diversity and depth. Starting in the familiar territory with his trade marked, blue eyed freaky soul vocals and rough beats before meandering his way through strangely sad blown out drum workouts and hip hop styled new beat tracks... Comes with full color sleeve. TIP!!

AAA997 keeps things moving with 4 tracks from the OG’s ….. Think RAW, late night techno into early morning electro with zero regrets.

Very much at the forefront of the UK electronic scene, since 2001, Shelley Parker has innovated and thrilled with live performances, DJ sets, sound installations, and scores for contemporary dance.

Parker's recorded output is just a small part of her musical orbit. That said, a debut album 'Spurn Point' in 2014 and various singles, remixes and EPs for Hessle Audio, One Little Indie, Honest Jon's, Houndstooth, Structure Recordings and OOH-sounds have whet the appetite for more.

'Wisteria' lands on Hypercolour, and succinctly encapsulates Parker's layered and dense production aesthetic, as a myriad of concrete rhythms, breakbeat science, inner city ambience and industrial strength bass unfurl over eight uncompromising compositions.

‘Wisteria’ by Shelley Parker is available on 2LP/Digital from 25th March 2022 on Hypercolour.

Our 40th release to date. Welcoming long time family member VERSA for another trip to sublime soundscapes. This man can do no wrong.

Bepotel lands their most recent EP on their own label, and aptly title it - Startup Label 1'. A 12' comprised of three disorienting techno tracks, minimal in nature yet inviting in its elaboration.

Blue Hour completes his ‘Remixed’ series with the fifth and final instalment. Over the past five years, he has curated a quality addition to the label inviting key artists along side exciting newcomers to re-work his music. ‘Remixed 05’ see’s Julian Muller, Adlas, Tranceman2000, and 3KZ bring the ‘Remixed’ series to a close accompanied by a full re-release of all past editions plus new bonus material.

Reclaiming his place on Token with another 12" record, Belgium's Border One presents 'Light Trail' - an ode to dissonance and drive. With his recognizable use of dynamic percussion and metallic synth work, he stops at nothing to provide a sound-system ready record for a busy dancefloor.

Opening the record with a throbbing bassline and a sustained pad, Border One wastes no time in getting to the point. He begins with leaning on rock solid groove to space out his ambient elements and stabs, creating a rich atmosphere while remaining focused on the movement.

Transitioning from an intriguingly subaquatic A1, the needle slides to a more brutal second followup 'Transmute'. Providing a constant and saturated low-end, Border One remains expressive with his use of his drum machine while keeping a familiar bubbly main synth. The reduced depth in 'Transmute' is likely due to the tension coming from his percussive work as opposed to a synth, making it very efficient for virtually any occasion.

As the A2 draws to a close, Border One dives back into the mind with the other side of the record - starting with 'Radiant'. Shrill tension makes its return over a playful, hypnotic synth sequence to create a satisfying contrast between crystal and viscous elements. 'Prism' then closes the record down on a driving jazzy tone, showing the artist's versatility and understanding of his genre. Dissonant chord stabs peak out of sometimes busier percussion lines, making it the perfect way to conclude a dance floor-oriented record.

(inhale deeply) We continue to unfold our record label with a release from a mysterious New York City-born artist we have only known for a short time now yet who we admire and whose personality and uncomplicated way of being inspired us and motivated us to dig up his phone number, pluck up all our courage and dial the Berlin area code to ask if he had anything to add to the Basic Moves story. (exhale) As you might have guessed, the answer was positive and slowly, little by little, the elements of Basic Moves 05 began to assemble.

A year later, we had found the two horizontal techno tracks we were looking for. After our previous adventures of more ornament-focussed dance music we wanted to send a well-adjusted rhythm into the music stratosphere. Although Forgive and Not Knowing are clearly rooted in US techno and early minimal house, these tracks prove that roots tend to keep growing below the surface and that any new growth is proportionate to its groundwork.

Of course, we could try to pin down the effect of these balanced, layered compositions as much as we like with words but actually, their bright secret can only really be felt in sound and movement (loud, dancing). Walrus & Islas, Brussels, 2018

Sous Traitance is back with a VA of heavy hitting & crunchy electro and techno.

The evocative home listening journey presented in Âme's debut album "Dream House" has now been transformed into a range of indispensable dance floor remixes, reminiscent of the dance weapons crafted by Âme over the last decade.

Renowned techno artist Jon Hester returns to Rekids Special Projects with a thundering fourtrack release, aptly entitled ‘Momentum’. Since his previous Rekids appearance, the Berlin-based Minneapolitan has continued delivering a steady stream of club ready cuts on labels like Transmat, LET and Deeply Rooted. Following a busy summer playing at the likes of Rex Club, Tresor and Hï Ibiza, Hester now returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids Special Projects techno imprint in fine form. ‘Accelerator’ opens with solid, overdriven kicks, deep chords, electrifying synth patterns and saturated claps followed by ‘Beatwave’ which features rhythm-led vocal sampling, upbeat Arp stabs and sparking cymbals. On the flip, ‘Zoned’ thunders with low-end frequencies, emphasised by a flying groove with snappy hats, subtle claves and white noise hits when to finalise ‘Part 4’ bounces with distant congas and tribal percussion, tight hi-hats, floating pads and a punchy kick.

Following a series of remastered gems from M-Plant's back catalogue for the "Perpetual Masters" series, Robert Hood now delivers his first new release since his 2021 Monobox album.

The release features two peak-time heavy hitters, starting out with 'Hectic' and its siren-like stabs calling out for people to join the dancefloor, while building the tension throughout; a skill for which Hood has become well known for.

Meanwhile 'Amazon Dust' takes things deeper and is somewhat reminiscent of the work on his Monobox 'Regenerate' album of last year.

Fünfzehn + 1 is a commemorative compilation celebrating 16 years of Ostgut Ton – and the first glimpses of light at the end of a long dark tunnel for parent club Berghain. Originally planned for release in 2020, the music focuses on the interwoven nature of the label and the club in its multitude of different spaces and musical facets. Ostgut Ton artists and close affiliates worked together in pairs to make music dedicated to five different floors, each represented by a specific 12" vinyl. The result is a diverse selection of sometimes functional, other times more abstract sonic tributes; musical homages to spaces they have both influenced and been influenced by. With the pandemic having forced the club to close temporarily, the collaborative nature of the 5x12" boxset represents an attempt to transcend varying degrees of isolation and to wrestle with memories of music and space that had been inaccessible. But certainly not forgotten.
