Following on from his recent 'Obey / Resurrection' single which continues to receive phenomenal DJ support, Robert Hood returns with the next release for his formidable M-Plant label !!

The seventh volume of Drumcode's annual A-Sides compilation hits with no less than 10 debuts for the label, with Charlotte de Witte, ANNA, B.Traits and Scuba's SCB project, among the collection of topline artists to release their maiden productions on the imprint.

Over two decades into its lifespan, Drumcode keeps evolving and excelling, pushing techno forward while remaining wholly respectful of its roots. This reputation for progression was further fuelled this summer with its inaugural festival at the NDSM Docklands in Amsterdam, featuring a long list of heavyweights including Nicole Moudaber, Joseph Capriati, Amelie Lens and Ida Engberg, among others.

As ever, the A-Sides compilation provides a timely opportunity to showcase the full range of its sonic repertoire, with Adam Beyer scrupulously selecting unreleased tracks that have taken prime position in his sets over recent months.

Part 2 kicks off with Thomas Schumacher's 'The Unseen' an relentless industrial workout with a nod to the 90s European techno sound.

Next up is Brazilian Victor Ruiz with his uplifting cut 'Pulso' layered with emotion & arpeggiated melodies.

On the B side & rounding off part 2, B.Traits makes her Drumcode debut. The esteemed Canadian selector offers up 'I Feel The Music', a euphoric track that's been sought after since spring, due to multiple plays on Adam Beyers Drumcode Live show & featuring in his live DJ sets.

One of Europe's most in-demand electronic music engineers turned star in his own right, Hannes Bieger's no-shortcuts approach to making wondrous melodic house and techno makes him an ideal candidate to provide a truly special mix for the long-running Balance series.

Since stepping back into the light as an artist, he has released on leading labels like Bedrock Records, Poker Flat Records, Tronic and Awesome Soundwave, topped the Beatport Progressive House Chart, provided a guest mix for John Digweed's legendary Transitions radio show and taken his scintillating, analog gear-heavy live show across, from D.Edge in Sao Paolo to Awakenings in Amsterdam to Watergate in Berlin. Balance snare him just as he begins his ascent into the uppermost echelons of dance music.

Comprised of all-exclusive music from Bieger, his friends and collaborators, this mix capitalises on the fact that he was gearing up for another artist album. Instead, the music he'd been saving up for his next LP appears here, alongside music sourced from people has been working in tandem with in the studio. "As an engineer and producer, I am working with many 'A-List' artists in this industry, but also with a bunch of up and coming guys and girls. So, I decided to make my Balance Series not only a platform for my own music, but to view it also as a wonderful opportunity to showcase some of the up and coming artists I am working with." Well-established scene legends like Gui Boratto, Victor Ruiz and Rodriguez Jr. also feature alongside these upcoming names.

Bieger wastes no time in getting down to business, whetting our appetite with the throbbing bass, jagged synths and heavenly vocals of 'The Butterfly & The Bee', a collaboration with French-Lebanese producer Yet More. Tripolism's 'Volta' segues in beautifully, with more dulcet female vocals adding a sweetness to the chromatic bassline scales and squelching synth mutations. ALX's 'Beyond Light' draws in a hypnotic arpeggio that pulls teasingly in and out of focus while snatches of rasping synths cut through the darkness, and Bieger's 'Alluvium' goes into deeper territory, channeling golden era trance with its sorrowful lead line-but keeping things restrained with its introspective feel.

Acidic bass pressure abounds on Rafa Silva's 'Prosodia', the moody vibe intensified by bold, heavily reverbed snatches of arpeggiated melody, before Thies Dry's 'Nomad' comes through like a sledgehammer with its intense blasts of buzzing bass and fizzing white noise. Jason Lange's stunning 'Nebula' sends tingles up the spine with its endlessly modulating, intricate melodies, leading into the blissful vocals, scintillating bitcrushed arpeggios and acid squelch of Bieger and Luna Semara's glorious 'Lose Control'.

The second half of the mix is comprised exclusively of tracks by Bieger himself. His collaboration with Rodriguez Jr. 'Orca' pulls us into a deeper place once again, but still heady pitch-bending melody abounds on this dreamy workout, while 'Embers' is a pure scene-setting, brooding, atmospheric mood piece. The masterful Gui Boratto lends a hand on the spectacular 'Requiem', featuring one of the mix's most memorable riffs and a lot of apocalyptic big room energy, and Hawaii's Olivia Foxglove weighs in on the dizzying riffs and techy rhythms of 'Lucid Dream'. It's left to Bieger & Victor Ruiz's 'Virtual Love' to close the mix in triumphant fashion with its rousing chord progressions and intense climax of thick, resplendent synth tones.

The mix has the curious and pleasing effect of warping time. Each track is a journey within itself, and when painstakingly fused together, their ebbs, flows and mutations give the impression that a considerably longer time has passed than 77-minute runtime. The second disc strips away the beats, creating a 'Synthapella' version of the mix that allows the glorious melodies and atmospheres to be experienced in all their unadulterated power. It's as captivating a ride as the first disc, but the feel is markedly and surprisingly different when the pounding rhythms are stripped away. "I think my name somehow stands for a certain musicality" he says of the underlying foundations of these majestic tracks. "I always strive to make music that is not "just" dance music. My goal is to create "songs"."

Taking the multi-tracks of each production and editing the various parts to provide the best segued listening experience, Bieger has gone above and beyond the call of duty to make this a perfectly crafted ride. That's what happens when you ask a producer-engineer-live artist to make a 'DJ' mix...

It's a familiar fable. A story that spans three decades and three generations. Their elasticated bass tones have touched the lives of everyone in Scotland's biggest city. They are the devilish duo responsible for Glasgow's techno city. Ex-NME hack, Channel 4's Stuart Cosgrove, might be spouting a load of old techno bollocks, but he is just one such infamous Scot who has been influenced by DJ Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle's twisted funk.

Wherever you drink, wherever you work, where ever you dance; every teen to thirty something has raved and craved Slam at the Arches. They are the dirty disco duo who form part of the cultural fabric of Glasgow's clubbing society. It's their sound that permeates every creative walk of life from marketing offices to bars, design companies to the city's restaurants, art institutions to hairdressers. Each month Slam DJ to 2500 people and to 25,000 people in July, that's 55,000 people a year in Scotland alone. Ask around the city and most people will have had a life changing moment at Slam at the Arches. This is the sound of Glasgow and Slam made it. Lock up your children.

Like so many other releases on the Drumcode label it is hard to choose which of the two tracks is better, then you realise why the hell should you have to! Tham launches his own label "DRILLER" with the release of his new EP featuring four original tracks. Emerging from one of the epicenters of industrial dance music, the Berlin based "DRILLER" is made for providing an extraordinary dance experience in full Tham manner by combining complex rhythms, atonal melodies and otherworldly textures - a sound to lead the night with and to explore new paths of creation.

Guy J is an Israeli music magnate, label owner, artist, and producer, famous for his distinctive fusion of melodic techno, intelligent electronica and progressive house. He is admired for founding and leading Lost & Found. Guy launched the enterprise in 2012 and it went on to become one of the world's leading underground dance music giants. Still, his own creations always make a difference, and this one definitely fits the bill! The release opens with "Day Of Light". It is a nonchalant theme with a chillwave synth feel, definitely keeping Guy's recognizable avant-garde expression. The music is massive, passionate and profound, rich yet grainy. The two-track material concludes with "Mind Of", where J furthermore demonstrates his advanced studio virtuosity. Foremost international techno outlet Drumcode is delighted to announce the release of its next full-length album, 'Satellite', by enduring Italian techno talent Sam Paganini.

Though he has been active since the mid nineties, recent years have been hugely successful for Sam, with searing techno EPs coming on revered labels such as Riche Hawtin's Plus8, Sven Vath's Cocoon and of course, Adam Beyer's Drumcode. In his time he has been responsible for underground hits like 'Zoe', 'Polyester' and 'Fire In My Arms', all of which demonstrate his dynamic understanding of sexy, dark and hypnotic techno grooves and at the same time have earned him plenty of great Beatport chart positions as well as respect from the best in the game.

Incredibly, 'Satellite' is Sam's first full-length album. Informed by his DJ gigs at legendary places like Berghain in Berlin and Cielo in New York, the album starts with a dystopian bit of sonic scene setting, as if a space ship is charging up ready to take off.

DJ Girl is a DJ and producer who was raised in Detroit, but since the pandemic has been based in Austin, Texas. She's the co-founder of the up and coming Eat Dis Records and her recent releases have been generating excitement in all the right places.
In some ways, 'Hellworld' feels like a direct relation to a lot of early 2000s Planet Mu releases. It could sit neatly alongside Hellfish or Neil Landstrumm, with a similar anything-goes, gleeful attitude, but instead DJ Girl mashes together a driving sound that is founded upon Detroit techno and electro, Chicago juke and Miami bass, with an old school/new school production style that's finessed with distortion and sparse IDM production.
It's a midwest USA style that takes a leaf from DJs and producers such as the wild-style hard techno of Lenny Dee, the tough midwest acid of Woody McBride and the system wrecking electro of Dynamix II, with a joyful, take-no-prisoners bounce.

'Hellworld' kicks off with the industrial juke of 'Get Down', followed by the powerful electro of 'Opp Pack Hittin' (the first of two tracks to feature MC Malik McFly).

'Technician' is a chirpy old school electro track that gets crazier as it progresses, while 'Lucky' mashes together samples and rough beats like an electro version of breakcore.

'Gallery' again features Malick McFly and switches between footwork beats, pumping techno and electro.

'So Hot' is hard 8-bar electro while 'When U Touch Me featuring Irish producer Lighght feels like a very manic take on hyperpop.

The album ends with the tough, spiralling acid of 'Groover' which wouldn't be out of place on a late nineties Jeff Mills mix. The fun is infectious on this one.

Yan Cook joins the Core of the label with a release that confirms one more time his amazing technical skills, Hammerhead is a non-stop heavy pounding release that showcases Yan experience. This is a sure-shot on any rave dancefloor.

Science Cult continues the Singularity series featuring prolific young artist Gautham Garg aka Decoder. Decoder is no stranger to producing precise and banging techno tracks that deliver, which is on full display with this 4 track EP.

The series, inspired by conversation with Decoder, revolves around a story written by label co-founder Syrte. US based illustrator Renton Hawkey has once again provided a beautifully illustrated comic book style artwork for both the cover and labels. This is again the culmination of months of work writing and storyboarding, revising and character building.

It's always a pleasure to have a visit from the family, so we welcome again Kessell at home. Not many words needed to introduce this classic producer whose name means skills, futurism and quality.

He offers four cuts of hypnotically driven techno, starting with "Killing Vector". Sharp drum work, funky stabs and classy feeling.

"Crypto" follows with a more alien approach, random Fm sequences, shuffled grooves and asymmetrical synth lines.

"Processed For Use" comes into tooly territories, with opaque sequences that progressively grow from the low part of the sound spectrum and a solid rhythm backing, mutating and evolving wisely.

"Refuse To Conform" sounds scifi and bleepy, irregular drum patterns, reverberated synth bleeps and lots of fx processing collide in a super intelligent mix tool.

Last seen on Discogs in 2017, the mysterious Marvyn Don returns with a full release of his old Lilac Road & Swag related EP from the early 2000’s, with four UK techno and tech house inspired rollers that are fit for any dark club or afters.

Newly-founded Icelandic imprint NIX welcomes Swiss talent Chlär for its sophomore release as he drops a trio of dynamic productions across his ‘Dance Instructor’ EP.

An imprint with an ethos of showcasing fresh, singular material from across the electronic spectrum, NIX looks set to make a statement as a label to watch in the months ahead. Founded in 2021 by Reykjavik favourite and bbbbbb alumnus Árni, who combined with fellow Icelandic talent and synth-disco producer Hermigervill for the label’s first release, the label now opens its doors to its first international guest in Berlin-based, Swiss DJ, producer and label owner, Chlär. Fresh from releases on Mutual Rytm and Welcome To The World Loop, the Bipolar Disorder co-owner flexes his muscles as he serves up a trio of driving yet nuanced productions across his ‘Dance Instructor’ EP.

A1 ‘Galvanizer’ is a loopy, hypnotic tunnelling ride through classic and modern techno soundscapes as rolling drums and icy hats guide vocal snippets down a descending groove, while ‘Vital Force’ showcases his studio talents and wide-reaching sound palette as skittering percussion, snaking low-ends, and further warped vocal interjections drive the production into the peak-time hours. The B-Side is home to title track ‘Dance Instructor’, serving up a seven-minute cascading dive through vivacious, spirited percussion arrangements, resonant lead stabs and sharp claps to draw from cues in its title and serve up a production set to make dancers let go and lose themselves to the groove. Tip!

Coyu and Ramiro Lopez are regular production partners, having released a number of tracks on Coyu's own Suara in the past, as well as John Digweed's esteemed Bedrock Records. This latest track on Drumcode further adds to their reputation as a force to be reckoned with. 'Clap Your Hands' allows the pair to display their talent for harder- edged techno. Pounding drums, metallic rattling, a tension-filled breakdown and the eponymous distorted vocal sample help to ensure the track fits in perfectly with Drumcode's high-quality repertoire. Made with the dancefloor in mind, Coyu debuted 'Clap Your Hands' during his set at Valencia's Marenostrum Festival, where it received a spectacular reception.

Detroit's Burden Bros have long been looked upon with immense respect within contemporary dance music. Having been in operation since 1990 with their 430 West imprint they have long encapsulated the forward thinking vibe of Detroit Techno with their output over the last 20+ years, gaining praise from their motor city peers as well as fans worldwide. Having had success in the mainstream and an enduring underground presence they are well versed in the art of music.

This double-pack 'Cymbolic' originally came out in 1995 and found favour with electronic music fans who sought a deeper edge in their music. It's all here, the trademark drum programming, the epic sense that all of the Burden Bros productions have within them. This is dancefloor music, music for DJ's to utilise, tools, but tools with the deepest soul imaginable. Listen to 'Terraforming' or 'The Symbiont' - perfect examples of driving, almost tribal-esque rhythms fused with strings, synth pads and human feeling. 'Cymbolic' is for you if you're a fan of Detroit Techno, but it's also for those who enjoy the deepest electronic sounds. That's not to say it isn't funky though, these tracks will decimate most dance-floors, and therein lies the secret. Their eponymous debut album was released on April 20, 2009. Perhaps the secret of Modeselektor's and Apparat's collaboration lies in the fact that they never even tried to get close to one another. Modeselektor's thundering bass rumbles in the cellar, Apparat's sensitive and subtle melodies float high in the eaves. The fact that what one assumes to be incompatible actually communicates, is what makes Moderat so unique.

Moderat is not just a studio project: with a set of visuals created for these concerts by Pfadfinderei, they toured all five continents and will do again immediately after the release of the new album.

4 years after the debut album Modeselektor and Apparat have come together once again: more mature, but not worldly-wise, wiser but not unquestioning, more experienced but without having sacrificed any of their pioneer spirit.

Complicated times need straight forward music! With no questions asked, the new techno project 7Function demonstrates what it sounds like when two long-standing musicians do exactly what they feel they need to do: genuine techno.

You could say, ahem, that Infiltrate has infiltrated deep into our conscious with its fine run of releases as we are well and truly locked in to the output each and every time. As far as we can tell, both of these artists are new names who are making their first releases here - or they are at least appearing on Juno for the first time. But the music is so impressive we find it hard to believe this is their debut. Cyphon kicks off with the tight, twitchy electro workout that is 'Hegemony' which Gene Harvest mixes into something more full fat and celestial. Konertymi's 'Valtameri' is a rich, colourful world of freeform melodic arps and arching heavenly chords while Astraali Suunnittelu could be a Kraftwerk does modern electro tune.

Rhythm Nation is back on vinyl, with a master of the deeper side of UK house and Detroit-inflected techno, Jayson Wynters.

Following up his 'Exit Wound' digital-only release of last year, which also featured remixes from Phantasy Sound's James Welsh, Jayson drops two brand new tracks as well as a physical pressing of those two originals from the previous release.

'War Heads' is a true late-night wormhole of a track, embarking on a journey of percussion and atmosphere, leading inexorably to the emergence of the warmest pads and the deepest bass.

'Bandwidth' flips the switch to a fresh take on classic electro, maintaining the signature Hayson Wynters sound of drum machines and classic synths that seem to hit just slightly left of where the listener expects.

Orginally released digitally in 2022, 'Exit Wound' and 'Lost City' offer a similar contrast - the former is a bassline-driven peak-time stomper, while the latter takes things deep into real electro with an infectious groove and evergreen textures.

Rhythm Nation is part of the Hotflush Recordings label group, curated by Paul Rose aka Scuba, celebrating 20 years in 2023.

Luigi Tozzi returns to non series with his 3rd solo ep on the label and his most mature work until date.

Second Skin is Spanish producers Psyk and Oscar Mulero with their first release for James Ruskin's Blueprint.

These two prolific figures of the Techno scene will already be known to many. Oscar Mulero has run his own label, Warm Up since 2000 and PoleGroup Records since 2004, as well as releasing more recently on the likes of Token and Semantica. Meanwhile, Psyk launched his Non Series imprint in 2011 and has graced other labels including Mote-Evolver, Tresor, and Semantica (like Oscar). Of course, both artists boast a heavy DJ schedule with sets across the globe.
Joining forces under the name Second Skin, they are resolute for this next Blueprint release. The tracks range from the techno tribalism of 'Bare Hands';, the pitch-black 'Sense of Purpose' and driving 'Reformed Theology', to the hypnotic 'No Escape'

Synthesis Records is a Techno music label orchestrated by Dj Pepo one of the greatest exponents of the Spanish Techno and with which he returns to his origins more techno to give us his more personal point of view, counting on young talents in the production as well as great artists of international scene. Here is the 15th release, but the very first vinyl release for the label.... certainly not the last!

LIP006 introduces a new face to the label: DJ Physical. Seemingly emerging out of nowhere but already familiar to the connaisseur, 2022 sees him bursting onto the scene with releases on renowned labels such as 10 Pills Mate and Shall Not Fade.

For his 'Calm & Quiet' EP on Life In Patterns he delivers an auditory self-portrait describing his state of mind during the last two years. The brutality of these long periods of confinement and the frustration it entailed are expressed in distant melancholic pads, raw acid lines and sombre rap vocals showcasing the Paris based artist's UK jungle and Australian techno influences.

The EP is completed by two collaborations, a stab infused roller with label head Ferdinger and an acidic moody banger with childhood mate DJ Bigspin.

HIEROGLYPHIC BEING emerges with more electronic easy listening music for the home listener & the defiant ones who move in silence in a crowded world. This project is a sonic tribute 2 the likes of JON HASSELL.

Alan Fitzpatrick's record label We Are The Brave celebrate their 88th release with a stunning four track EP from French producer Paul Roux.

The Montpellier based artist makes his debut on We Are The Brave following releases on other influential techno imprints such as ARTS, Wide Division and Alan Fitzpatrick’s Apex Faction. Creating a stunning fusion of live instrumentation and electronic craftsmanship, he uses analogue textures and industrial percussion to create cinematic soundscapes with driving energy.

'Emperia' brings the energy with rave inspired synths and a computerised vocal that together create a dystopian vibe driven by a pounding kick drum. 'Loveland' has a fast-paced groove and explosive percussion that combine with poignant synth chords for an epic ending. 'Cosmic Blues' and 'Craft Control' are both best described as sunset techno due to their combination of melancholic atmosphere underpinned by rolling percussion to create a compelling dance floor experience.
