Salmo/São a fonte da sua própria luz comprises two tracks exploring similar ideas through very different means.

Salmo consists in two voices together for a stretch of time, trying to avoid any kind of mannerism, ambient or other. Moving quite a bit, but not too much though, it quickly becomes clear that Salmo somehow references its own technical support, even though it does so through the mention of its faults and fancies.

On the flip side, São a fonte da sua própria luz, shines in a very different but not unrelated light. With the exception of an insisting kick drum, nothing ever repeats. A drum solo that comes and goes with little concern for composition. Any detail in it is most likely accidental.

At some moment last year Novo Mundo (aka NIAGARA) made itself manifest. It was pretty simple, like most necessities are. Here is Tenda, the result. Dezembro is but one idea, never ashamed of its simplicity, straightforward techno: its all about the basics of motion. Leviathan is circular, a slow burn, until the kick and the hi-hat surprise you: insane in the membrain. The record ends with Arsenale, a very slow motion, no drums, the calm after the storm.

53 Degrees North marks SK_eleven s seventh release, as Setaoc Mass continues to add to his flourishing imprint; this time with a two-part EP release. 53 Degrees North Part One focuses its efforts on four-to-the-floor club-centric music the label head is renowned for. All four tracks are emblazoned with his signature, disparate pairing of light and dark sound palettes glued beneath rich, atmospheric textures and hypnotism - all the while keeping its muscular club chassis gleaming beneath. Part Two of the double release sees Coates revealing more of his experimental side. The second cut pays homage to past influences of the producer as he floats between ambient, IDM and electro cuts with ease, all rife with emotion and passion.

Made during his travels in Paris, London and Antwerp, the 20 year old Siwei presents the first outing on his own namesake imprint in the form of a three-part series. Each part showcasing his love for endless fidgeting with his modular rack and combining these cinematic and eerie soundscapes with off-kilter drum patterns.

The project was launched with a four-track VA featuring S3A, 9th House, KETTAMA and Asquith and here we see two new additions to the roster in the shape of France
Anaxander and Azuni aka Washerman.

Matthew Dear's Audion project stands proudly at the intersection between art and hedonism, realised over a decade long dedication to powerful and relevant dance music. Growing out of the vibrant DIY Detroit underground, Audion and his contemporaries were free to feed off the energy reverberating from UK and European dancefloors, but singular in their desire to create their own sound and spirit. An Audion release is techno in it's purest sense - whether it's pushing the bombastic limits, spinning the dancefloor out of control or elegantly toying with just a few sonic elements. 'Alpha' is Audion's first artist album in 10 years and comes at the end of a period of fevered activity. The collective body of work standing as a marker in time and a defining moment in the life of the artist. Drowning out the noise of the outside world, 'Alpha' was a puzzle pieced together sonically in the shadows and wildly brought to life in a matter of weeks. The artwork for 'Alpha' has again been realised by Will Calcutt, Dear's long time collaborator, who has a visual plan for the music that matches the sonic vision, completing the final critical piece of the puzzle. Taken from the album, Gut Man Cometh and Destroyer get the remix treatment from UK producers Matthew Herbert and FOLD

It sounds ridiculous to state that this is Efdemin's best release so far on Curle, when you realise that's the artist that brought us classics like Acid Bells and America... But the whole EP truly is amazing from start to finish. All tracks feature Efdemin's brand new second mix-album called 'Naïf'.

Second part of this conceptual double EP by Eric Fetcher. "Krell lab" is a full journey into a deep interpretation of the evergreen basic of techno by one of the most solid techno producers. His sound is accurate in every detail, a mix of past, present, future... high level of techno!

Josh Wink joins Ellum Audio for a stellar new single backed with a remix from DJ Seinfeld.

Josh Wink needs little introduction to fans, or even occasional listeners to dance music. The American DJ and producer has been one of the most enduring figures in the scene with a catalogue of music on labels like R&S, Strictly Rhythm, Nervous, Pokerflat, MNus and of course his own long standing Ovum Recordings imprint. As a DJ, he has travelled the globe since the mid-nineties, headlining festivals and clubs wherever he goes. What he has never done in his almost 30-year career is ever lose touch with the roots of underground dance music, something he demonstrates once again here with a standout new single for Maceo Plex’s label.

As Josh says, “Eric and I have known each other since the 90’s, when I would come to Dj in Houston Texas, and now so many years later, I’m excited to have my music released on his mighty Ellum imprint, including a great remix from Dj Sienfield”.

‘Feel’ is classic Josh Wink, near eight minutes of spacey, hypnotic dancefloor wonderment fuelled by syncopated percussion and arpeggiated bass which builds the tension before a spacious drop and meditative, spoken word vocal take the reins. Timeless and heartfelt this is a gem from the Philadelphia legend.

Remix duties fall to Sweden’s DJ Seinfeld, the lo-fi house pioneer and Young Ethics label boss who chops things up with a warped bassline, wonky FX and dancing synth lines to bring a brilliant alternative to the table.

Split Release between Pomelo Records and Minimal Soul
...For Minimal Soul, electronic music legend Orlando Voorn contributes an absolute corker of a track, he takes himself back to his electro/techno roots and comes up with 'Slam' - Black Dog doesn't disappoint either, his remix is a study in restraint, and its simple relaxed melody lifts the track into classic territory.
On the 'Pomelo side' Lodig obviously has his work cut out, but doesn't let the credentials of the producers that have gone before put him off his stroke! He comes up with a slightly more gnarly techno cut, not exactly heavy, but with that extra bit of dirt that is very satisfying after the clean cut techno funk of the previous two cuts. He then slips into his slightly better known guise of Lok44 to round off the EP nicely with a warm and bleepy minimal techno roller of a remix.

One town, three times of the day, a triarchy of Techno music, rolling into the deep – coming as green marbled vinyl with an exclusively designed festival wristband!
Rico Puestel rears a monument to his growing-up-town „Uslar“ with three different approaches on this second part of the home-loving „Solling“ series that dig deep into a downscaled and natural framework of sound (all recorded and produced right at that place).

The initiation ritual on A1 with Uslar at 6'23 in the morning starts off with an actual electric guitar theme, originally recorded back in 2003, that builds the foundation hub to one crisp and point-blank Techno-Electro ceremony. The clean minimalistic sound will showcase all the details of any structure within while one's certainly getting caught by the overall force of melodic attraction like the sun working its path through the misty valleys.

At 13'35 noon, a rising rhythmical and progressive interpretation of the initial morning sounds makes an appearance on the flipside that doesn't allow much time to leap right into the centre of the da(y)nce, immediately creating the guesswork where side AA is leading all along.
The evening hours at 21'55 then take a flying leap into the mystical peak of the whole process, taking the morning sounds from side A into some uneasy realms and sceneries, prevailed by an almost voodoo-like momentum and a dance into the depths of its surrounding woods that will coherently dignify 90's loop Techno par excellence.

Terence Fixmer returns to NovaMute with a new EP, The Swarm out on vinyl on 24 May 2019. Terence Fixmer’s career has spanned two decades with releases on many acclaimed labels, most recently releasing his sixth solo album Through The Cortex, on Ostgut Ton. His sound deftly avoids repetition by developing soundscapes which maintain musical depth and integrity and he above all preserves an original style, an increasingly experimental, simultaneously ruthless and instantly recognizable aesthetic. “The title track ‘The Swarm’, I made with the full Roland System 100 [1970s’s vintage semi-modular analogue synth]. I had been collecting all the individual parts of the System 100 and was happy to finally find the sequencer System 100-104. This was the first full track I created with it.”

We warmly welcome the artistic project of the talented UK brothers Harvey and Ryan Mckay also known as ALIAS.

Title track Force' is nicely balanced by its thick and dry kick and bass-line groove with a melodic predominant synth. It's a powerful jolt that makes your body move.

Second track Paradox' has the Alias sound written all over it. The minimalistic but smart fusion of strong and dynamic sound elements create a vigorous blitz.

Label head Jay Lumen contributed with a smashing remix. It's a total recreation of Alias's Paradox' with Jay's sharp Acid Techno sound. With a magical old-school chord melody he build a bridge between future and past. Mainstage bombes all the way!!

Teste's "The Wipe" should need no introduction to those well versed in Techno history. First appearing on Richie Hawtin's seminal Probe label in 1992, "The Wipe" and it's associated mixes literally took dancefloors by storm. 22 years later, and Edit Select summons this classic once again for an impeccable remix that maintains the force of the original while adding a decidedly contemporary touch. On the flip, Teste return after 21 year hiatus to team up with Edit Select himself for the immaculate "Ascend".

Not much to say about our 6th release, as the music speaks for itself. A heavyweight V/A with some of the finest artists of our scene, including bomb tracks from UVB, Endlec, Kwartz and, one of our all-time favourites, Dj Boss! Proudly compiled and presented!

Cult label Groovepressure returns with its 17th release. A 4-track EP that is one of its best yet. A collaboration between label boss (and Memory Box head honcho) Robin Ball and regular Groovepressure cohorts A². Taking turns to remix each other’s tracks delivering a 4/4 and breakbeat track and remix each. This EP has all the Groovepressure trademarks. Mixing up techno, house, breakbeat and electro with a deep underground vibe. Music for your head and your feet.

First up A² “Delaycious” is an unreleased track from the vaults. A real gem made in the 90’s and thought lost until re-discovered recently on a dusty DAT. And on the flip side Robin’s stripped back teched up “Oh Yea”.

Dame-Music kicks off 2020 with a bang! For her first release of the decade, label head Bloody Mary has teamed up with Barcelona-based artist Cardopusher (Dark Entries, Zone, Super Rhythm Trax, Boysnoize Records) to deliver an EP full of hard-hitting, acidic EBM weapons. Conformity Kills is an ode to all those who go against the norm. But what exactly is the norm? Who makes up the rules? Why are they in control?

Bloody Mary & Cardopusher’s first outing together on the A-side sees the pair serve up the EP’s title track “Conformity Kills” – a high-energy original complete with a broken-beat alternative mix.

On the flip side, the pair are joined for additional vocals by Lbeeze on “Out Of Control”. The package is rounded out with a heavy remix from EBM man of the moment, Sarin, fresh off the back of his album on Phase Fatale’s “Bite” in late 2019.

R&S welcome electronic composer Matthew Puffett AKA Future Beat Alliance with his killer single ’Never Forever’ a sublime slice of broken beat techno that originally had a limited release on his “Patience and Distance” album in 2009. It now comes backed with a first rate remix courtesy of R&S regular Afriqua.

A veteran of the UK electronic scene originally from Oxford but now located in Berlin, Puffett made his name in the late 90s with a string of sought after releases on Void Records under the aliases Mode-M and Soul Electrik before settling on the Future Beat Alliance handle. Notching up releases with the likes of Delsin, Rush Hour and Versatile as well as with the storied Tresor imprint, both as a DJ and an artist. In 2019 Matt started his new imprint Reward System to self release new creations.

Life long friend from Oxford, Mo’ Wax and Unkle maestro James Lavelle reached out in 2012, which led to a further creative chapter in Puffett`s story that culminated with him co-writing & programming on Unkle’s 5th studio album ’The Road Part 1’ as well as some singular work in film and television. “The moving image plays a key creative motive in my process,” Matthew explains. “Sound & picture married together is such a powerful combination that always inspires me every time to make my own version, 'Never Forever' is one of my many attempts to try and
capture that.”

Taking cues from modern cinema masters like Denis Villeneuve, Panos Cosmatos, Steven Soderberg and Jonathon Glazer and their respective composers, Puffett's widescreen sonic craftsmanship alongside his irresistible rhythmic sense are a key part of what makes Future Beat Alliance music so alluring; "I want my tracks to guide the listener on a exit route far from this world”

The first explosion into 2020 from the Planet X marvel is finally scheduled for space in mid-February. Musical progeny from the depths of the planet, better known as Lafontaine, who has been preparing custom smashes specifically designed to counteract the degrading and demolished virtual reality that seems to make the Earth's uplifting generations destitute. Those generations who have little or no ability to take on life's struggles and consequently fall into the slavery role in the future. Lafontaine has been given clear answers, along with direct goals to counter this trend. And with this EP called "Dehumanized", Lafontaine comes up with indescribable frequencies, sounds and elusive electric currents to break the prescribed spell for human slavery. With one of the most distinguished space guys in the team, the most trustworthy astronaut of the nebula, Matrixxman as the recorder of this important EP, nothing can stop it from breaking up the sins of the universe and its intrigued intention to make the future generations a selection of paltry runts..

London based French producer Mondowski follows a spate of recent releases on Relish and Ombra with a new club-orientated vision for London label and clubnight SC&P. Following his remix services on label's debut and 4th releases, Mondowski makes his full lavel debut with an electro inspired turn. Dancefloor orientated lead track Sholay finds a mesmerizing path somewhere between extroverted 80's electro and celebratory spiritual transcendence and gets the remix treatment from Pinkman's Kris Baha who subverts the original by turning the electro backbone up to 11. The EP's B-side, Negative Space, voyages into darker electro territories with Kraftwerkesque synths, rolling pads and a motorik bassline, all of which provides the launchpad for Multiple Man to turn out a pitch black EBM banger.

For his first solo release N-Gynn serves up a 4 track EP spanning spacey house, techno and electro. Hardware hallucinations fused with machine mysticism to produce interstellar introspection. A collection of recordings that are at once entirely familiar whilst also completely alien.

They are coming back to Oráculo Records with “Deception Island Part 1” where fresh cold beats meets hypnotic techno and avant-garde of a ferociously experimental nature. All tracks have been specially remastered for LONG CUT vinyl by Daniel Hallhuber at Young and Cold Studios.

The Lisbon based VIL return to Be As One with a driving 4 tracker EP of classic meets new school techno at its finest

Hot on the heels of its debut release, Montreal’s Chambre Noire is back with its second record: an EP by Québecois artist Vromb, a veteran producer around since the mid-90s, known in particular for his releases on Ant-Zen. Over the course of five tracks on vinyl (six in the digital version), the artist’s sounds seem to take on physical shapes, like living origami: constantly mutating as they open, close and transform into something else. With attention to movement and boundary-challenging textures, this EP is ready to ensnare listeners in a variety of contexts, from club environments to more contemplative environments.

Ukranian techno producer Yan Cook returns to the Planet Rhythm imprint with a belter EP. Evolving techno sounds that are carefully carved out of analogue pulses and ferm drum hits. Where the A side thrives on well produced arps and atmopshere, The B side really hits it with peak time synth action and great FX.

Following noticeable releases on Tone Dropout, Art Of Dark, Overthink and Shadow Play, frenchman Daïf returns to his own imprint for LUMINAERE 002 Highways of Life. Distancing from the spacey atmosphere of the first one, this four tracker captures a personal side of Daïf’s musical identity, powerful and twisted.

On the A side, Downtown spiral sets the tone of the EP. Field with melodic pads and ear-piercing leads this 4/4 track bursts with energy. Then follows Burnout, perhaps the most complex of the four. UK garage like style, mesmerizing bass lines and pads, buckle up, you’re in for a 200 mph drive.

On the B side, Terrible Lie is a hot banger with a ravy old school flavor. Warehouse synths, cheesy vocal samples, stabby leads and melodic pads, this one is guaranteed to do some damage. Finally, closing off is Exhaust-ed, hauntingly beautiful track with powerful breaks interleaved with acid bass lines going back and forth with melodic chords.
