Second release from bore hole, Russian label associated with the now infamous Клуб (Kisloty Club). The release continues the label’s DIY philosophy with four trippy lo-fi cuts from an obscure Moscow artist balancing different in genres and tempos ranging from 120 to 160 BPM.

Mihail P (Verdant/Where We Met/Magnonic Signals) returns to Distant Worlds with 4 more communiques of inter-dimensional wonder. Here, the Macedonian sonic strategist sets his sound palette ever wider whilst still maintaining his signature emotional pads and haunting melodies integral to all his productions. His hauntological approach bears fruit throughout -the future fails us so let's explore different futures, different interpretations of the past, the present. Certainly a maturation in sound, this manifesto offers up 4 distinct meditations on the continuum of electronic sound from the early 90s through to the present day and beyond...

With Resident Advisor track of the year last year, Schacke is already known for his anthemic style of Copenhagen techno. This release is no exception, with Role Modeling following the foot steps of big hits like Kisloty People and Trained To The Floor, sporting an entrancing bassline and catchy vocals.

‘Telomic Ghost’ is the natural peak of TM404 & Echologist’s transatlantic collaboration. Since their first release together in 2017 (KYN007), Andreas Tilliander and Brendon Moeller have explored their subaquatic, techno sound on a further EP (KYN010), and now this album broadens the scope with ambient cuts, slo-mo acid and dubbed-out house.
Both Tilliander and Moeller have renowned discographies of hazy electronics, under a number of aliases and with numerous collaborators. Their records as TM404 & Echologist have struck on a powerful synergy, pairing the glitchy, Roland indebted sound of TM404 with Moeller’s dub-wise headspace and striking sound design. Turn the lights down, press play and freefall into the depths of ‘Telomic Ghost’.

The turning point between Pumpin tribe and « back to techno »... X-tech have always been a bit electro and on this EP he defently goes for it... This is the successfull turning point for his artistic choice. Even if you can still feel the acid, and the pumpin and the breakbeat of a classic tribe tune, there is here already the elcrto (this is a Marseille thing), the down pitch to more reasonable speeds, and aslo the variety of style into a single, witch was kind of a revolution and will always be ! A breilliant record that deserved a descent repress ! Was mastered and cut at DK Mastering, near toolbox. Brightening old this old DAT before it's too late !
Since Anna's huge success with 'Where Are You Now' last october a lot has changed in her live. Brasil's first lady of techno not only tours the world and continued with more fantastic releases on Diynamic, Tronic and Turbo Recordings but also found the time to be back in the studio again for her first proper EP for Monika Kruse's label Terminal M.

“Sueño“ is the continuation of DJ Gigola and Kev Koko‘s collaboration, and marks the 6th installment of Live From Earth Klub imprint (LFEK006). The 2-track-release presents two different ideas of club music. The lead track, “Sueño“ (Side A) is a dreamy yet bass-driven composition featuring DJ Gigola’s soft vocals. Side B shows a breaky high-energy approach towards nostalgic rave culture.

Over the course of his seven-year recording career, Jan Schulte has delivered countless revolutionary remixes under the now familiar Wolf Mu¨ller alias. Now, Safe Trip has gathered together some of his most celebrated and hard-to-find reworks on Sorry For The Delay: Wolf Mu¨ller's Most Whimsical Remixes.
.
The collection includes a string of lauded revisions of the likes of Tolouse Low Trax, Africaine 808, BAR and Jose Padilla, all in a trademark percussion-rich, polyrhythmic style that joins the dots between the tropical rhythms of South America, the tribal musical traditions of Africa, the experimental electronics associated with Schulte's home city of Du¨sseldorf and the sun-kissed Balearica of Ibiza.
Since making his debut at the dawn of the decade, Schulte has carved out a niche as one of European electronic music's most distinctive artists. Under this best-known alias, Wolf Mu¨ller, the German producer has delivered a string of sought-after singles, two critically acclaimed collaborative albums (the most recent of which, produced alongside percussionist Niklas Wandt, was released earlier this year), and a swathe or radical remixes.
It's the latter that's showcased on Sorry For The Delay, whose apologetic title tips a wink to Safe Trip's debut release, a compilation of Young Marco remixes called Sorry For The Late Reply. The majority of the eight included reworks are revolutionary in nature, with Schulte gaining inspiration from, or making use of, just a handful of elements from the provided source material. For example, the oldest remix in the collection, a 2011 rub of Mungolian Jet Set's quirky disco cut 'Prog Rocks and Moon Jocks', made with Christian Pannenborg as Montezumas Rache, features numerous vocal and instrumental elements omitted from the Norwegian duo's final version.
The collection naturally comes packed with deliciously percussive moments, including an undeniably heavyweight translation of Tolouse Low Trax's 'Jaidem Fall' - the first ever Wolf Muller remix from 2014 - a chiming, melodious and sun-kissed revision fo BAR's 2016 cut 'BAR Theme', an inspired tweak of Africaine 808's 'Rhythm Is All You Can Dance' and a riotous take on 'Ba Hu Du', a never-before-released track from Schulte's other headline-grabbing, club-rocking pseudonym, Bufiman.
Schulte's ability to create mesmerizing, slow burn soundscapes can be heard across the compilation, too, from the druggy and psychedelic pulse of his krautrock-influenced version of Telespazio's 'Barrier' and the humid tropicality of the Deep Dub of Sound Species 'Balafon Jam', to the dreamy new age synthesizer lines, twanging Jews Harp and seductive beats of Jose Padilla collaboration 'Oceans on the Moon'.

Klose One and Claus Fuss return to their collaborative techno alias OneOneOne with the Pipeline EP.
As a DJ, Klose One’s knack for fusing a house music backbone with elements of UKG, bass and grime has allowed him to endure as a staple of London’s fast moving underground scene. Claus Fuss is a classically trained producer and composer, and a master behind the scenes as co-creator of Zed Bias’ live set, and more recently the head of live sound for German synth pioneers Tangerine Dream.
As OneOneOne they take an improvisational approach to production, channeling their ideas through analog equipment and live sequencing. Title track ‘Pipeline’ and closer ‘Bewusst’ demonstrate an economic use of individual elements to create tightly wound dance floor rollers with a tough edge. The two let loose on ‘Squeak’ and ‘Jolt’, a pair of stripped back and anthemic techno bangers, primed for a grunge-y basement setting.

Svarog representative of the Ukrainian techno scene joins Lowless for a deep and atmospheric techno EP. The main inspiration of the artist is about the searching for mysterious and incomprehensible things, esoteric knowledge. The Way To; an hypnotic techno track where organic drums meet shamanic voices to start the trip. Flight Over; deep pads melting with flowing minimalist percussions giving an ethereal feeling. Walking Through; Subtle melodic synths answering to a dynamic bass for the most techno track of the EP. Find Your Way; an ambient track closing the journey with a vocal between textures.

So what’s the deal now - are we all just going under? And if so, what will we find below? On his second EP for the label, Leibniz immerses himself deeply in the subject matter with three tracks that draw on the titular »Hydron« as an alternative source of energy, with three tracks offering more water displacement than a regular Typhoon-class submarine - it’s that cold, clear bottle of Fuji in a desert full of uninspired memes.
The hundert co-founder overtakes the discussion about electric cars and those damn scooters by cruising down the aquabahn with his hydrogen car at 132 to 134 knots per minute. There’s a coming changeover of power to be felt in the air here for sure, yet there is much more to be gained from the water - the fuel for your deep dive into the unknown once we’ve gone under. In the meanwhile however, you have two options: become conscious of the impact that we as a species have on this planet or find the one gadget that will serve as a fix for everything. Just remember to stay hydrated along the way.

The wicked intensity of Toronto's E-Saggila takes on novel limits for her new album for Northern Electronics. Constructed out of her live works, there's a lack of restraint on 'My World My Way' that could only be forged in the moment. Following on from last year's album for BANK Records NYC, E-Saggila has put together something that addresses the club and the headphones in equal measure. Taking the approach of a documentarian of our virtual landscape, there's a deep motive that underpins the heavy digital signal processing. With plenty of storming mechanical rhythms that embark from gabber's chaotic neighborhood, the samples of voices, conversations, and phone calls, all wind the listener around the desperation that's embedded in the digital world's seamless mediation of our lives. Owing as much to power violence and industrial as to Rotterdam, E-Saggila's affinity for the extremes is as conceptually critical as it is stylistically present. Riding the BPMs high, and binding this all together with ambient music's sensibilities, 'My World My Way' moves in sharp strides between a political statement and a dancefloor assault.

HELLCAT is a new series from bbbbbb records focusing on club-ready dance floor
driven tunes. The first edition, HELLCAT VOL.1 welcomes VTSS and Cadency on
the A side, juxtapositioned by the Icelanders Bjarki and Kuldaboli on the B side.
Berlin-based Polish producer, DJ and live act VTSS is a regular at Warsaw-based
club Jasna1 and her visceral productions and energetic performances join the
dots between hard techno, acid, rave and EBM. ‘Sober Raving’ sees her once
again in her finest form with rumbling bass, mean melodies and a cacophony of
percussion.
Cadency is the moniker of OAKS and KAOS founder Héctor Oaks. He is one of
the most exciting names in today’s thriving techno scene and is a regular at the
likes of Berlin’s infamous Herrensauna and Tbilisi’s nightclub institution Bassiani.
‘Eating Steel’ is an example of how twisted Oaks can get, combining reverberating
kicks with oscillating atmospherics and murky vocal samples.
Bjarki needs little introduction as the founder of bbbbbb and one of the most
versatile electronic music producers and live acts out there, creating high quality
techno, electro, IDM and even ambient. Meanwhile, Kuldaboli is another Icelandic
electronic music producer based in Berlin who specialises in stone cold electro.
Together they team up for ‘Hrái Hötturin’: a fast paced and mesmerising cut with
sci-fi stabs and intricate warps before the blistering solo outing from Kuldaboli
entitled ‘Hefurðu einhvern tímann hugsað um það’ warps listeners through outer
space at 160 bpm.

Techno, Disco, Italo, Electronics, House, Library, Cosmic and Ambient frequencies - These are the bedrocks of the Midnight Drive ethos and sound. A label shining a light on overlooked or unheralded creations and respectfully reissuing them for the contemporary audience. A label that respects and understands the connection between these disparate and sometimes forgotten forms of musical expression and celebrates them. To kick off 2020 in fine style, Midnight Drive bring you something different, from the far depths and fringes of London's mid 90's Techno scene....
B.C. aka Cisco Ferreira (The Advent) and Robert Leiner (The Source Experience), are 2 very well known and respected figures in the global Techno underground. Between them, Cisco and Robert have both performed across the globe and been behind numerous seminal records, and worked with some of the most highly respected record labels to date including: R&S, Apollo, Jack Trax, Fragile / Transmat, Labworks, New Electronica and more since the late 1980's. Entrenched in electronic music, and armed with decades of experience, it is safe to say their collective reputations precede them.
'Stronghold' was a one-off concept from Ferreira and Leiner that yielded only one EP, realised in 1994. The perfect frisson of dub aesthetic, electro-techno and ambient. A stripped-back juggernaut of cavern deep weaving rhythms, modular melodic sonar blips and driving bass. Total power. 'Stronghold' is one of those records that seems to morph, winding from skeletal electro snares into an off-the-rails kick drum driven freight train, pure soundsystem pressure. Only for the headstrong. Peep Dave Angel's seminal X-MIX from 1995 for a taste, the track features prominently early on in the mix to devastating effect. Also featured on this special and limited reissue of this most sought after and lesser spotted techno classic is a never heard before, unreleased and alternative take of 'Stronghold', from 1994. Lifted from DAT. It's possible that this newly unearthed version may be dubbier, trippier, perhaps more potent, more driving.....? But we'll let you decide.
Special thanks to Cisco Ferreira (The Advent) and Robert Leiner (The Source Experience). Remastered from Cisco's DAT archive by Radioactive Man, London 2020. Worldwide distribution by Above Board distribution. Artwork by Atelier Superplus.

Nathaniel Young a.k.a. Guilt Attendant lives and works in NYC, where he also produces music under the monikers Hofmann, Kohl, Moral Extrication and richard_p, and runs the Severed Mercies and Blankstairs platforms for art and music alongside his design duties for Dais and Hospital Productions among many other publications and labels.
‘Suburban Scum’ is his devilishly detailed debut of girder-strength techno for Hospital Productions, forged in the image of late ‘90s hard techno and reverberating strongly with prevailing trends. It’s inspired and informed by the artist’s deeply held urge to undo the dogma instilled by his religious Christian upbringing. and, as such, it expresses a sense of free will within the context of Satan’s fall from grace, fully grasping techno’s repetitive excess as a potential path to hedonism, freedom and other ungodly matters.
Recorded between 2016-2019, the 8 tracks of ’Suburban Scum’ find Guilt Attendant in cold control of his agency. While they may possibly make crowds consider their own relationship to god, especially in his use of sampled sermons by his former preacher that crop up throughout, and most strikingly on the closing ’Severe Mercy’, the majority are more likely to make dancers slam the walls and trample a hole in the ‘floor, especially with the galloping horsepower traction of ‘Broken (Free)’ and his scudding 140bpm missile ‘Cursed Spawn of White Flight’, while the title track deals in purely clenched EBM and the dread-filled palpitations of ‘Imminent Unraveling’ features his vocals low in the mix and wrapped around the track’s rugged spine.
While there’s a certain irony in eschewing one dogma to embrace another, Guilt Attendant utilises the inherently principled form of hard techno as a steely framework in which to explore his own spirit. In the process he opens a derelict warehouse-like playground to reflect on key themes of moral independence, social segregation, free will, blissful despair and decisive autonomy (from
a much longer list) that patently apply to popular conceptions of the dancefloor as “church” and techno as ritual.
