Teste returns with The Box Man, a five-track EP that marks their first release of original material in 25 years. Formed during the early nineties in Hamilton, Ontario, they put out only three official records between 1992-1993 on Probe Records, most notably 'The Wipe,' which is regarded as a genre defining classic, while the follow-up 'Regions' also served as a template for the ensuing sonics of contemporary techno. With only a handful of live actions, the final chaotic show (public disturbance) occurred for Pure in Glasgow 1994. Afterwards, the original Teste lineup of juvenile delinquents disbanded but unwittingly ended up defining the hypnotic and drugged out strains of today's afterhours techno parties. The project vanished for decades until reactivating the chaos in 2014, promoting a slew of remixes 'The Rewipes,' by artists such as Rrose and Terence Fixmer, on the Edit Select imprint.

Since then, original member David Foster, still at large as //HUREN//, has been slugging it out in the fringes with influential output on the seminal Zhark Recordings Berlin and has collaborated as O/H with Rich Oddie of Orphx. First meeting on Mayday 2017 in Berlin, a new alliance with Martin Maischein aka Goner formed. Goner is likewise a veteran with essential output under various monikers on imprints such as Force Inc., Editions Mego, and Hospital Productions. From that pairing, The Box Man came into being for the second release on BITE, the Berlin techno label run by Hayden Payne and Florian Engerling.

The Box Man picks up where Teste last left us with their revolutionary vision of techno and continues to further their interdimensional manifestation of insanity and formation. Pure techno serving as a method of psychic expulsion and self-reckoning. From the opening, the eponymous track approaches full panoramic throttle as metallic synths creep 360 degrees around the listener, setting the tone for panic and loss of cognitive control. Teste then moves into the stealthier outpatient techno rhythms of 'The Long Term Care Facility' and 'Thieves Are Operating In This Area'. The EP contrasts its propulsion with different interpretations of its blueprint. 'Foaming At The Mouth' delves into Cabaret Voltaire-alike rhythm box violence until all is closed with the comedown melodies of 'Lyubov'. Through highly adept methods of sound design and neural interpretation, Teste once again cuts apart reality with their music, expressing nightmares and visions via new rituals and mind control techno.

The 5th release on De:tuned comes from prolific German producer Thomas P. Heckmann and features 8 previously unreleased tracks from Thomas' vaults recorded between 1991 and 2001.

Inspired by bands as The KLF and 808 State, Thomas began tinkering with techno in the late 80s and released his first record as 'Exit 100' on Force Inc. in 1991. Thomas is perhaps better known under one of his many aliases such as 'Drax', 'Age' and 'Silent Breed'. Under the name 'Drax', Thomas released the monster hit 'Amphetamine' in 1994, a track that crossed genres and is one of the defining tracks from that era.

Together with Thomas, De:tuned handpicked 8 unreleased tracks that showcase Thomas' unique production style. Tracks such as 'Jacktrax 2' and 'Toddlers Twist' are a testament of Thomas' early US acid house influences, while 'AGEtation', 'Program Zero' and the title track 'Acid Wreckage' represent the trademark Heckmann sound: fast-paced, frantic, drifting between techno and trance with the 303 as key element.

All tracks were lovingly mastered and cut by Thomas himself. This release is presented on heavy weight red vinyl, stay tuned!

The 2 London DJ's are part of the DNA of the global Jungle / D&B movement and they have remained relevant, cutting edge, authoritative and essential to this truly underground art-form since it's inception. RAGE could arguably be the ground zero of Jungle. The party was started at London's cavernous Heaven club by Fabio & Grooverider in 1988, at the height of Acid House fever that was making it's way up and down the motorways, slip-roads, fields and warehouses of the M25 and further beyond every weekend, troubling the nation, the police, your parents and the press as it went. RAGE was a different beast, it certainly channelled some of that Acid energy but pitted it against the new and exciting sounds emanating from Belgium, Amsterdam, Detroit, Sheffield, Essex and Hackney and in turn created a new style, a new sonic attitude and energy in the process. Rumbling bass-lines, narcotic synth rushes and roughly chopped and sped-up breakbeats all merged into a style that we now know as Jungle. Nothing like this had been heard before, this was a brand new style and it was coming out of London's West End and Fabio & Grooverider were the people firmly behind it.

RAGE is approaching its 30th anniversary. Its sonic and cultural legacy is still being felt today, Fabio & Groove are still shutting down raves and festivals every weekend all over the world with their superior DJ sets and musical knowledge guided by their pioneering spirit. Mokadelic - Doomed to Live is the theme tune to the hit Sky original series Gomorra. In celebration of the enchanting classic, Crosstown Rebels commissioned Daniele Baldelli & Marco Dionigi, who produce two stunning ‘Nu Disco’ and ‘Dub’ remixes and Davide Squillace, who provides the equally impressive ‘Ethnik’ remix.

Based on the acclaimed book of the Neapolitan writer Roberto Saviano, Gomorra, is focused on the fierce Neapolitan crime organization, depicting street-level crime and its hierarchical organization from the pavement, all the way up to regional government offices. The original theme tune played a significant part in the success of the show and was quickly commissioned to be remixed. The end result of which is a stunning release featuring a selection of Italy’s seminal artists, who each represent a different aspect of the country’s long-standing affiliation to club music and culture.

Baldelli and Dionigi’s Nu Disco remix combines cosmic synth stabs alongside otherworldly pads to form a meaningful astral cut, whilst the duos Dub mix features swinging drum solos and an infectious wooing vocal throughout. Davide Squillace’s Ethnik remix of Doomed to Live is a tribal fashion, as hollow drums pave the way for a soothing, emotionally charged piano key that runs alongside shimmering Maraca sounds.

Daniele Baldelli is a veteran of the scene and considered by many to be the pioneer of Cosmic Disco, a sound that first came about during his club residencies at Italy’s Cosmic and Baia Degli Angeli. On top of this, Baldelli’s collaborator Marco Dionigi held a residency at Verona’s Alter Ego club for twenty years. Born in Italy’s Siena, it was a trip to London that ignited Davide Squillace’s passion for electronic music. The Italian native debuted as a Circoloco resident in 2007, and has founded multiple labels since, including Sketch, Hideout and Titbit.

This time we've got a full round of straight-forward floor-weapons for you, contrasting two producer's very different approaches and their respective reworks by Len Faki. The A-side is packing heat in form of classic, jacking acid house courtesy of Michael E, whose tracks have that special Ultramajic-sparkle about them but hit with the tight punch and accute precision of a true LF-engineered edit. Similar goes for the ominous reworks of Litüus' experimental synthesis on the flip. Released originally on Shifted's Avian label, these heavily modulated analogue sequences merge seemlessy together with Faki's metallic percussion. As usual with LFRMX releases, the proceeds of this record will be forwarded entirely to charity organization Straßenkinder e.V., who are working to offer help to the children living on the streets of Berlin.

BVBYLON debuts on Rekids with two cavernous techno cuts entitled ‘ARCADIA’.

Little is known about BVBYLON except, like his name, his background is Arabic. ‘ARCADIA’ is a powerful production complete with booming kicks, animated stabs and squelchy effects geared perfectly for the sets of techno titans like Radio Slave. On the flip, ‘VERSTEK’ is more twisted in comparison with its tantalizing synths, ominous atmospherics and rumbling low end.

This June will see the release of Deadbeat's "Jacks and Slow Dances" EP on Visionquest Records.

Deadbeat AKA Scott Monteith is a veteran producer currently residing in the ever inspiring city that is Berlin. No stranger to the Visionquest imprint, "Jack's and Slow Dances" follows his 2015 release on the same label, entitled The Jacks EP. His latest effort is comprised of 3 originals that are perfectly complimented by a remix from Visionquest co-head Shaun Reeves.

Monteith has been releasing critically acclaimed records since 2000 and has carefully sculpted a dub-laden sound that is uniquely his own and instantly recognizable. He has performed all over the world including top festivals like Sonar, Transmediale, Waking Life and Mutek. The esteemed labels he's released on include Cynosure, scape, Revolver, Wagon Repair and his own BLKRTZ.

The EP kicks off with massive bass, big toms and cascading synths and effects that build with the "Boom Jack" vocal, until diving into a driving kick. The patient tension continues and the repeated synths rise and fall as the rhythm of the vocal becomes more frequent and more manic, sure to excite the dance floor. For the A2 Shaun Reeves' remix of "Keep On Dancing" drops a 4/4 kick on the track and adds a classic Berlin low slung bass line that bumps along with some added sub bass, while delayed keys drift across the top. It's perfect for summer sessions at Club Der Visionaire, which is a frequent haunt for both artists.

The B side kicks off with the original mix of "Keep On Dancing", and sounds as though the listener is dropped into some remote jungle in the middle of the night. Monteith's beautiful and casual vocal arrives drenched in reverb while the minimal percussion accompanies his thoughts along the way. The song continues through the night as an arpeggiated bass synth leads the listener toward the 4/4 kick and the delightfully swung hi-hats that follow. The EP is rounded out by "VQ Infinity Dub, an uptempo jam that starts with his mature building of percussion and cascading synths and vocals that drive and pulsate the track forward. Foregoing the typical use of the big clap/snare, Montieth instead relies on the kick and shakers to keep the track moving and it just goes to show how effective his unique and unconventional his style can truly be.

Greek producer ITPDWIP (Lobster Theremin / brokntoys) is in charge of the third release of NNY Records, a mini LP comprised of seven magnificent songs with an unpredictable analog sound that oscillates between electro and techno. A collection of tracks full of memorable melodies and a punk and aggressive touch that will delight all Dutch West Coast Sound fans as well as more risky techno followers.

It’s with a pride filled, yet heavy, heart that Schrödinger’s Box bid a welcoming return to the uncrowned King of Acid, Andreas Gehm. After Cosmic Interrail come four tracks of acid scorn, corrosive jack and twisted spite. Under his own name, and the time honoured mantle of Elec Pt 1, Cologne’s 303 contortionist serves three works dripping in bitter bars and skewered by claps and snares. “Captain Future” sits outside of the quartet, a carnival outake of whirling lights and crashing cymbals. Neil Landstrumm - Bad Life Choice Club ep Are bad life choices a bad thing or actually quite good really Neil Landstrumm invites you to join his club of fools with this effort on Moustache records. Its money badly invested if you do but endless selfish pleasure awaits the brave. Don't blame me if it all goes wrong. I warned you. Idiot. This six track LP from the early 1980s contains pleasure seeking electro-pop and beastly disco lust, heard from the other side of Mute records black leatherette covered door This record is made by Neil Landstrumm (RIP) on fuck all with shit speakers. Ably assisted by Tommy Stuart and his wall of modular synth and a pork pie on at least two occasions. Made for the French but they didn't have enough money to pay for it. Fuck the Tories and BREXIT. Scotland wanted to stay in the European Union. We hope you all know that.

Amish Boy follows-through with another payload of inventive, grinding techno. Indeed sat next to some high-profilers, his music brutally exposes rigid parameters that some never venture beyond. Still, simple functionality is a beloved corner-stone of dance music and rightly so. Pointless assertions aside, 'Nice Try Donnie' is another six tracker and part two of 'Laika Test Project' with the sleeves of both records combining to make the full artwork.

Amish Boy is a new artist in the sense that his first original release was in October last year, however he's been balls-deep in music and parties for twenty years but happens to be one of those rare talents that don't shout "look at me!".

A man of many alias, the multi-faceted talent behind Juxta Position finally finds his way to Figure, leaving us an EP's worth of highly infectious, acid-festered analogue techno runs. Feeding on the raw and dynamic energy of live hardware production, these jams hit the sweet spot where constant modulation and spontaneous changes transform a bunch of loops into something much more than the sum of its parts. Whether it's a bouncy ride around the rings of Saturn with Elixir, the frantic sledge hammer-assault of Stepping, cascading down into the machine's bowels on Automated Reproduction, or the non-stop, all-out overdrive that is Pestered - every track on this record takes on a whole life of its own, making for some seriously potent DJ-weapons!

British-born, Berlin-based electronica producer Kamikaze Space Programme delivers his long-awaited debut album ‘Dead Skin Cells’ for Osiris Music. It’s the sound of eight years of the acclaimed project reaching its zenith, via releases on leading labels likes Mote-Evolver, WNCL Recordings and Mord, and through regular sets at the likes of Berghain and Tresor.

This bold new record mirrors decay of the physical world and the human form through its jarring sound palette and tense atmospheres. It’s a rebirth of sorts, with the title a reference to shedding skin — as KSP has done with his previous aliases. Combining his roots in jungle and dub (as Raiden and Dot Product) with the diverse textures of the contemporary techno diaspora and his skills as a found sound magpie and foley artist, it makes for a riveting, deeply nuanced listen.

‘Skin Cells’ begins with distorted synth buzzes trading places with haunted, heavily processed samples and thundering kicks. ‘Sparks’ channels taut jungle breakbeats, pitched down to a more chugging tempo, while menacing D&B screeches buzz through the track. ‘Dust’ teases DMZ style dubstep tension, while ‘Rain’ shows his mastery of sound design and field recording in a stunning ambient interlude. ‘Insomnia’ reaches for glitchy digi dub in the vein of The Bug with some cinematic undertones, leading to the brutalist sonic architecture of ‘Crumbs’ with its crunching breaks and rasping tones.

‘Derelict’ is the album’s most direct nod to his junglist past, the ghosts of hardcore imbued through blasts of chainsaw bass, dissected breaks and haunting pads. ‘Grey Clouds’ bathes you in thick swathes of ethereal pads and plucked, incessant bass before ‘EF5’ delivers a militant glitch-heavy onslaught. ‘An Empty Sky’ closes the album in apocalyptic fashion, with crunching bass pressure juxtaposed with graceful, filmic chord progressions.

The result of all of this is an album that feels at once uniquely London while perfectly contemporary to the Berlin scene, and perhaps a none-more-perfect sonic encapsulation of the continuing reciprocal dialogue between the two cities. Most of all, it’s the sound of a sonic excavator hurtling towards the top of his game, in perfect control of every granule of sound therein.

NOAH GIBSON from Sweden delivers some fresh killer Techno on his own imprint KRASCH!

Dread technicians Pact Infernal debut on their own Altar Label with 4 all new haunted constructions

Berghain resident Somewhen debuts on Ostgut Ton with four-track EP AFL.

Growing up the son of Polish immigrants in Berlin Neukölln in the 90s, Somewhen cut his teeth as a producer within the city's burgeoning rap and R&B scenes, making beats for local MCs and gravitating toward bass-heavy arrangements. At the time, pre-gentrified Neukölln was known as an affordable working class district with high dropout and unemployment rates - paths Somewhen avoided by immersing himself in sound engineering, working construction and, in his spare time, honing his gritty productions.
Following his first club experiences in the German capital in the early 2000s, he was eventually drawn toward the era's loop-heavy and industrial aesthetic - a sound reflected in 2016's dark but melodic Null EP for Unterton, as well as previous releases on his own SANA label and Marcel Fengler's IMF imprint.
Now, on his first solo EP for Ostgut Ton, Somewhen offers his own take on distorted techno, combining squelchy, ultra-saturated drums with chromatic basslines and EBM inflections. Ryte' (A1) thrusts forward at 133 BPM with a sinister Gabi Delgado-like chant, whipping snares and metallic hats - a kind of set-closing joker. On Undress' (A2) things slow down significantly, while menacing vocals and melodic synths guide the listener through a hypnotic sonic tunnel.
AFL' (B1) emerges into ravier territory, with modulating synth figures and bass drones made for the floor. On EP closer Kilo' Somewhen reintroduces sinister, staccato vocals, minimalistic melody and ominous pads. All in all, AFL is equal portions thrash and groove.

Soft Machine is a surreal wander through the mystical sonic forest. A vision curated and designed by Chicago native Justin Aulis Long. A Cyclopian point of view while gazing through a wide lensed scope, which exists in the liminal spaces where light meets dark and angelic forces bath in the sludge and stardust of unfiltered eroticism.

Eye of the Minotaur - collage 001 is a collection of artists working in varying musical practices that are channeling the solitude of mutantness, strolling through the familiar yet unfamiliar halls of the uncanny, refusing ordinary structures of the mundane, grasping the cold humor of cynicism, basking in the dichotomy of cosmos and chaos, and invoking the energies of Eris and Eros.

Setting the ground is Ciarra Black, a Berlin based New Yorker who makes no apologies for her bare knuckled soundscapes. DuPont Street is a ritualistic unification of discordant entities that summons visions of Pazuzu (lord of the demons) and Inanna (goddess of love) fornicating beneath The Tree of Life. Razor edged synthesizers slice through the atmosphere with the precision of an avenging angel’s flaming sword, while a psychedelic drum code activates ritual movement of the body.

As the needle passes beyond the next threshold it is met by a towering totem, bristling with the illuminated light of the sonic astral plane. Erected from the foundational matter that birthed the Detroit electro punk sound, Eyes Up continues to add to the narrative that is drenched in deranged electronics intuitively mangled in a post punk tradition. Dystopian percussive rhythms generate an unorthodox domain where muffled utterances present an aural Rorschach test. Could this be the riddle of the Sphinx, or an ancient spectral being that possesses secret knowledge? Only its creator, Stallone the Reducer, holds the key.

Fixed at the axis of the journey, Perfect Headache Forever, a mystic operating within the DIY spaces of Chicago, levitates on a transcendental mass that is equally melancholic and optimistic. Her voice hosts a strength equal to a pantheon of titans. Armed with a magical electronic musical box, she weaves narratives that are prophetic. Itself Ecstatic is a voyage through a misty soundscape that begins at one point, but ends in a distant other, in accordance with a system of divination.

Gazing into the murky waters of the oracle’s cauldron, Circling Vultures, (a collaborative effort by Justin Aulis Long and Kenneth Zawacki) channel and evoke the spirits of Antonin Artaud and Geroges Bataille. The poet’s voice, engaged in an act of mutilation and self cannibalization, howls while projecting visions of sacred conspiracies, sensations of vertigo while peaking over the edge of the abyss, and the looming weight acquired from the solitude of the Minotaur alone, sitting silently at the center of the labyrinth. Accompanying the mystical bard’s verbal declaration is a triggered mechanized synth that roars with the vitality of Cold War era Wave music, which is then juxtaposed against applications of loose keyboard playing. The artist’s hand is revealed against the calculated actions of machines.

Bringing the document to its finale, Libby Del Barrio, a multi disciplinary artist based in San Antonio, performs a closing ritual in a manner that only she knows. Setting fire to the Elysium Fields while personified as Moze Pray, Del Barrio rejects plastic narratives that aim to pacify. No Tears, is an unapologetic account of life’s feedback loop around the Wheel of Fortune. Sacrificial actions through ceremonial performance reveals a gateway founded on truth and torment. Paris based label Blocaus series is back with their third strike and comes with a selection of quality techno tracks bringing the sound to another level.

This time, blocaus resident ABSL takes the reigns over four powerful techno tracks. K EP is a variety of styles with broken beats, hypnotic background, drilling leads and distorted drumlines. Also it includes two fantastic remixes from Sunil Sharpe and I hate Models.

-1 Alexis Tyrel's Man in the Sky introduces itself as a no-nonsense kick and riff driven track. Although simple in nature, it is a bold and distinct. The track zeros in on the very memorable riff and the different adaptations of it that play throughout. Changes in key, timbre and depth give this piece an eerie vibe in places and a funky vibe in others.

-2 Cynical Slaps is a funk and percussion infused brew that slowly builds over much of the track. The blend, once more, is straight forward enough but the three main elements - dirty drums and percussion, a funky bass and a galloping synth stab all work so well together to give a sublime grooviness to this track.

-3 Less is definitely more with Alexis' solid and compelling Brick House. It is both straightforward and unremitting. Greater than the sum of its parts, it is a thumping example of how a few drum sounds and a catchy sample is sometimes all that a track needs to get a place moving.

+1 The Hernan Cattaneo & Soundexile remix of Alexis' New Religion brings with it subtle rhythms, short punchy bass notes and soaring atmospheres. The shimmering high strings lift the listener into new heavenly realms and give the track a gorgeous expectancy.

+2 Alexis Tyrel's original mix of New Religion is filled with a beautifully tense and anticipating air. A percussive bassline gives the track the fundamental groove, reverb soaked short pads cantillate while nervous synth stabs dance around like the agitated chatter of a congregation that's awaiting the revelation of their electronic god.

The special series commemorates the label's roots, evolution and establishment and honors its residents and friends. The Continuum-series will feature twenty exclusive tracks. The EP's Sonos, Magno Hyacinthum, Fluctus, Luna Frigus and Terra Nova are planned as part of Continuum. Individually each will pay tribute to four distinct artists that have inspired and shaped the sound of Dynamic Reflection. Collectively they become the articulation of a decade of techno.

Featuring tracks from Blawan, SHDW & Obscure Shape, Jeroen Search and Stefan Vincent, Magno Hyacinthum represents the second planet in the Continuum-constellation, consisting of five exclusive releases in celebration on the 10th anniversary of Dynamic Reflection.

Following two staggering contributions from The Analogue Roland Orchestra and 2030 that illustrated to boundless sonic possibilities for the label, Deep'a & Biri return to their Tel Aviv-based Black Crow label with a pair of powerful, emotive techno cuts in the style for which the duo long since become admired. For a long time one of those admirers has been Detroit techno founding father Derrick May, who has been on a mission to push the new 12s A-side, 'Basic Cycle', into instant classic territory through his unwavering commitment to making the track a highlight of his sets. May has been far from alone, with the track being one that D&B have been asked about, if not outright begged for, over the past year or so. On the flipside Dislocated stays with the program, but opts for a slightly deeper approach, riding on an unrelenting hihat. With over 15 years experience in residence at Rome's renowned Goa Club, as a DJ Simona Calvani's penchant for sultry, minimalistic techno has finally made its way onto record in the form of this round and immersive three-track EP. It s time for Lewis Fautzi to introduce his first album on Pole Group, a collection of ten tracks of cosmic techno, carefully crafted making a soundtrack of the future, deep, intense and scientific.

Psycho path is the intro, made of granular textures, subtle drones and ambiences, stepping into Entering, pulsating sub bass, continuous sinoidal sequences, pads and tension.

Subconscious starts with the beat, opaque bass drum, micro hi hats, atmospheres and monotonous sequences at a low bpm rate while Diffracted speeds the tempo a bit with electric synths, flanges and twists creating an hypnotic number. Rentless pain follows, with resonant bleeps starring until assymetrical sequences appear and the synth lines evolve in a hi pass filter galore.

Seasick is humid and liquid, gummy sounds, clean drum programming, spaced out sounds and a lot of room. Then we come into Furrow, aimed to the intelligent dancefloors out there, synthetic bubbles, rolling sub woofer action , bleeps and noises. Cyclic Human reminds to the best scifi techno with bell like sequences, digital clicks, jazz harmonies and abstract progression.

Number nine is Optic Chiasm a direct number based on an obscure drum workout and filled with hi pitched relentless sequences, intelligently arranged to create a mental feeling as well as inducing to dance. Album closes with The Brain Revolution, like an evolution of Entering, beatless but still preserving the tension and the movement.

Now that's a massive piece of vinyl! The news about an upcoming remix package for tech-house-maestro Phil Kieran should be enough to raise techno lovers attention. However this time the buzz is even bigger as we managed it to get Luke Slater's cult project PLANETARY AUSSAULT SYSTEMS aboard! Yes, you heard right, the project that helped shaping the image of former techno überlabel PEACEFROG is on remix duty here and the PLANETARY AUSSALT SYSTEM does what we expected... and even more! The Wasps Under A Toy Boat' remix is a mental technomonster with only one message in his head: Let's go crazy on the floor!". Cocoon head Sven Väth had the pleasure to test the remix a couple of times and smashed the floors to pieces everytime he dropped that gem - one of 2015's biggest techno highlights so far! The flipside features a Tom Demac remix for Missp' which breathes cool 80s air with its bassline and almost industrial beat programming. We hear early Detroit club hymns here or the sound of Berlin in the 90s as Demac merges rough beats and stop and go effects with the new-wave-feeling of bands like the Liaison Dangereuse or Propaganda. The result is funky and musical but at the same time electronic and entertaining with enough power get us on the dancefloor. For its fourth instalment, Interstate welcomes Copenhagen's Schacke. Rooted in punk and noise, the Danish artist grew into becoming one of the key figures of Copenhagen's scene and inner part of Courtesy's Ecotherm and newly found Kulor imprint. On INS004, Schacke delivers three originals, exploring musical spheres that are both brutal and graceful. The opener "Cold Hands" kicks things off on a dark yet atmospheric note with driving percussions that make your body shake. "It Was All A Dream" is built around an irresistible synth loop that is accompanied by angelic noises and winds. While this track blooms in its flow and drive, the short break shows what an exceptionally gifted producer Schacke is.The flip-side features the title track "Met Her At The Herrensauna" which is the record's most euphoric. Dazzling leads, shimmering synths and a somewhat otherworldy yowling loop drive this track which has all potential to create the special dancefloor moment one won't forget. At last, IBON, another Copenhagen talent, delivers his take on "Met Her At The Herrensauna" by giving the original an even more clubby and trancy touch. The two combined make this 130bpm and upwards Copenhagen take-over complete!

Shlomi Aber is back on his Be As One label with 'Panix EP", this time joined by Swedish Techno master Skudge. Keeping the no nonsense techno attitude of his latest Nonplus release, 'Panix' keeps bearing Shlomi's relentless, dark and raw signature sound. Skudge strips down 'Panix' into 2 separate remixes, taking the original into a deeper and back to basics mood, with his known trademark grooves.

Next up on LFRMX is another batch of state-of-the-art club weapons. These tools are squeezing the last drop out of their original templates, making for a fun and exciting bag of trickeries. The A-side features a rare appearance from Ian Pooley's classic Silvershower-alias brought up to modern times, backed by DJ ESP's millennial acid-hymn You Gotta Do What You Gotta Do, which still feeds on its iconic riff and vocals in this slower yet just as forcefully booming remix. On the flip, we find Faki's edit of an unreleased gem from his own label's artist Setaoc Mass, before the EP deliciously closes out on some abyssal ambient synth-cascades by L/F/D/M. As with all releases of LF RMX, the proceeds of this record will be forwarded to the Berlin organization Straßenkinder e.V. to be used in actions against child poverty.

Yan Cook takes the listener on a voyage that covers all sides of his musical spectrum. Sturdy technoid rhythms and otherworldly structures make ''Drifted Island'' a true work of versatility.

Irish live act and producer Hybrasil builds on a big 2018 with a fantastic debut on
the mighty Rekids entitled ‘Afra’.

Hybrasil has put out plenty of techno tracks that have topped Beatport charts. He’s
released on Octopus Records, his own self-titled label and Break New Soil, as well
as playing Amnesia Terrace and Privilege Ibiza. He is a new school techno talent
of the highest order. "

Slick opener ‘Afra’ is the sort of lively techno cut that gets the floor marching to its
beat before erupting with big synth stabs that look to the heavens. The Millsian
‘Source Vibration’ pairs things back to flat footed, forward driving kicks and molten
synths that ripple over the drums. As intensity builds, the synths grow ever more
wild to ensure plenty of big moments in the club.

‘Pallas Athena & Aeoleusc’ continues to pair monstrous drum programming with
uplifting chord work that is simple yet hugely effective. Rising up through the
shadows, the glistening pads bring colour and future soul to the track, before last
of all, ‘Bishop’ flips the script with some funkier drum programming that gets you
on your toes as dubbier chords flesh out the grooves.

Berghain resident Marcel Fengler is one of the frontmen of raw and forward pushing techno. Judging by his previous three EPs for the label, it's clear to see how Fengler's work revolves around a love for tough, angular and edgy tools for the floor.

Ape-X Records is the new label created by the people behind the Newcastle club party of the same name.

After 11 years of bringing global DJ talent to the North East of England, Ape-X is now turning things on its head and bringing the musical talent of the North East to the rest to the world.

Its first release features the debut release by the mysterious new spoken-word musician “MARSKE”.
“Hospital Corners” is as high brow as it is lo fi, and is difficult to describe beyond saying it shares DNA with House Music, Techno, No Wave and Beat Poetry
Production duties for the original track come from North East artist (and Ape-X’s Label Manager), Man Power.

Over its 11 Year tenure in Newcastle, Ape-X has always followed its own uncompromising musical path, immune to trends, and with a distinctly northern personality.
As a result, a specific sound for the party will always remain hard to pin-point, but Luke and Gabe from the party best describe the sound of the label as:

Emerging from the wake of his sold out release with Zehnin Records, Paleman continues his experiments with textural and visceral modular music exploration for his debut 3 track EP for Nonplus Records.

A side 'Sweltering Rain' is a powerful piece of groaning, urgent dance floor minimalism, charging forward with a ritualistic, undulating droid line set against scorched, otherworldly drones. B1 'Cells' opens with scurrying modulated white noise and reverberating cosmic texture patterns set against a monolithic kick drum ostinato. The elegant minimalism develops with radioactive analog synth alarms and stark futuristic vocal glitches as the track barrels forward with momentum.

B2 Titan Vulture explores an undiscovered alien landscape evoking imagery of liquid pools of methane, erupting geysers and swirls of otherworldly elements. It is an absorbing, chugging and captivating piece of textural escapism, evolving as it goes whilst still featuring the elegant and considered minimalistic touch that runs throughout the EP.

This EP sees Paleman returning to the physical dance floor based music he is known for, but undoubtedly reflects strong developments in writing approach, quality of sound and exploration of new techniques. 2019 seems set to be a flourishing year for the young producer.

Over the last decade, we’ve come accustomed to Jason Letkiewicz releasing material under a dizzying array of aliases, each utilized to explore a different side of his multi-faceted musical persona. Now, some 14 years after he made his recording debut alongside Ari Goldman as Manhunter, Letkiewicz has joined forces with Into The Light Records to release his first album under his real name.

The Reflecting Pool sees Letkiewicz exploring the uncomplicated and uncluttered in the pursuit of pure aural beauty. While his recent album as Opposing Currents was dense, dark, urban and industrial, The Reflecting Pool is stripped back, quiet and melodious. The contrast between the two projects is marked, with The Reflecting Pool drawing more on Letkiewicz’s love of crystalline ambient, slow burn synthesizer soundscapes, early ’80s library music and the kind of obscure electronic new age music that has been a hallmark of Into The Light’s releases to date.

The set’s 12 tracks gently ebb and flow, with Letkiewicz making great use of dusty old drum machines, effects units and a range of vintage analogue and digital synthesizers. It’s a set-up that results in a range of complimentary mood pieces and interludes, from the delay-laden military drums and lilting lead lines of “Out of Body Experiences”, to the drowsy, sunrise bliss of “Sunspot”, the bubbling Tangerine Dream style shuffle of “Mind Awake Body Asleep” and the outer-space atmosphere of “The Kill Fee”.

Throughout, Letkiewicz showcases his seemingly intrinsic grasp of mood, atmosphere and melody. It can be heard within the glacial guitar motifs, occasional beats and elongated chords of “The Reflecting Pool”, the rhythmic bustle of “Numb Drums”, the glassy-eyed melancholia of “Arhythmia” and the cinematic paranoia of “Burning Off The Morning Fog”. It’s also evident amongst the classically beat-less ambient of closing cut “Weightless”, whose alien electronics, effects-laden pulses and opaque chords recall established masters of the genre.

With The Reflecting Pool, Letkiewicz has provided us with a much-needed dose of stress-free musical escapism, at the same time offering hope that in these troubling times, love may still save the day.

Ahhhh the joys of creating a new label! I have started Holding Hands Again to bring to light some records from the past that I adore and think should be made more widely available so that everyone can slam them in the club.

Bushwacka! is without a doubt one of the main influences behind the main Holding Hands label. His UK take out house and techno then lead onto his groundbreaking labels Oblong and Plank that have inspired many of the generations that came after him. I love those breaks releases and play a lot of them in my sets but my favourite of his cuts are actually his super early releases that he put out on his own label Sound As A Pound. Volume 1, 2 and 3 are packed with gems and sound just as original today as they did in the mid 90s. They are incredibly rare and sought after by any DJ who knows their stuff, which is why I am so pleased to be able to share three of my favourite tracks from those releases.

I chose three that covered a broad range of sound. Loopy trippy house, techno with a ton of soul and one straight up classic house banger. I have also done a garage remix of track 8 myself to bring another spin on his unique sound.

This re release has been freshly remastered for maximum boost and sounds fat as fuck on a system.

All four tracks are produced and sculpted for the club. They want big sound systems and dark rooms.

Mick Harris (Napalm Death, Scorn) is back on L.I.E.S. with his second ep under his FRET moniker. Harris who has arguably pioneered the template for industrial techno and dubstep genres again shows us why he is the boss with this ep. Fusing ultra heavy blasted broken drum programming with mutant dubstyle mixing desk techniques, Harris once again creates a sonic black hole which there is no return from. Brief moments of tranquility give way to crushing bursts of metal on metal screams and tortured frequency abuse, as the buried voices try to rise from the wreckage. Once again, this is controlled chaos executed by a master, remorseless electronic music with zero compromise, plain and simple.

Wilson Tanner come to shore with a new album of floating melodies. Wilson Tanner is Andrew Wilson aka Andras and John Tanner aka Eleventeen Eston and this album follows on their 2016 debut album 69 for Growing Bin Records

We are back with our label's latest release, from none other than the label's boss Oscar Mulero and his piece 'Electric Storm'. This track was featured in digital format in the Unknown Landscapes compilation, and now we bring it to you on vinyl, together with two outstanding remixes by Sigha and Tommy Four Seven, and an additional track: 'Cave'.

'Electric Storm' is in its original version an exercise in tension made with continuous flanged sequences, subtle kicks and sharp high hats that evolve and change for all six minutes. A building tool perfect for long mixes and club workout.


Sigha makes his own personal twist on 'Electric Storm' altering the main sequence, changing the drum patterns and redefining the overall feeling in his very own style. The result is dense and hypnotic.

'Cave' is the second original track. Subterranean kicks, reverberated FM percussions, high tempos and a constantly changing arrangement. This is another club tool designed for mixing wizards.

'Cave' in his own personal style: taking some pieces from the original beat, completely deconstructing the drums, breaking the rhythms, giving an industrialized flavour to everything: metalizing, distorting and completely taking the elements to the extreme.

Stellar new EP on the way from Dutch producer Qindek. The rising star has been on the up as of late having released on labels on such Wolfskin Records and Invite's Choice Records. This time he's releasing on vinyl only label Dreiklang who have had some scintillating cuts from Edit-Select (who appears as one of the remixers on this EP) and Claudio PRC.
Qindek has really been honing his skills and is known as much for his flowing DJ sets as he is for his masterful live sets. This level of technique is truly standing to the artist as we can see from his comfortability with hardware shine through on this project.
'Come Closer' will be the fifth release from the label: it features the original mix Come Closer and three remixes from VOLTMAR, Edit-Select, and KUF, which show the different facades of the track. The original cut is a primal, tribal number merged with club elements. It enters with a bongo-like drum that is followed by a hi-hat for some pace. A surreptitious synth floats in and levitates back and forth, which is coupled with fluctuating keys and toms. It's a mesmerizing number with an understated tempo, bringing the forest to the club.
Cologne based artist VOLTMAR takes the first remix. Known as a DJ for many years now, he has performed in clubs across Europe. He tends to enjoy a deeper sound and this is prevalent in his take on the cut. The percussions are deeper and more hollowed, which creates a different kind of sway. It feels more tribal, with more jungle elements to it. It has less synth and more of a heavy bassline, designed to connect people on a primal level.
Next to feature is none other than Edit-Select. The British native is well established in the club scene and does not disappoint with this remix. A more complex sound, he takes the track and elongates it. It's a consistent sound with underground elements and a slight bit of tempo. It has this divine gothic synth that oscillates with a certain lilt to it. The beat is enchanting as the cut slowly diminishes.
The last stand is by Swedish artist Kuf. Known for his energetic sound, this cut does not disappoint. It's a high-velocity all-out assault club banger. It has rolling beats, speedy hi-hats and a tempo that is driven forward by hand claps. It has a skeleton aspect to it, whereas instead of using builds, they add and subtract elements inject an ever-changing pace.

Woo York takes us on a trip to the Kazakh city of Baikonur. A landscapish and interesting journey which is well orchestrated and never dull. The opening track Sawcure is an intense voyage through sound, excisting out of syncopated synths and a smoothly progressing bassline. The sophomore bit is a little more ominous, deep and terse. The remainders of this cinematic plot are just as diverse and well brought. The sublime edits throughout the record make it even more interesting. Top Notch stuff from Woo York

Over a year into living in The Hague, International Weirdo and Film Composer Antoni Maiovvi begins receiving instructions via his dreams from Jaz Coleman from Killing Joke instructing him to make a project called 'Ye Gods' in order to unite the universe through electronic sound and then to deliver these recordings to Guy Tavares to desseminate through the world.

Hot Creations continue to bring the heat as they deliver the next release from German wizard Basti Grub. The emotive Darling also features a remix from FUSE favourite Rich NxT.

Darling is powerful with a raw groove and a dark yet almost ethereal synth section and a vocal hook that will play repeatedly in your head. Rich NxT adds his unmistakable sound to the track, distorting the vocal and adding a full-power, after-hours bounce to the bass complete with a woozy, synth-led break-down.

With over a decade in the business, Basti Grub has forged a solid reputation for himself with his output. Unafraid of experimentation, he expertly fuses together traditional instruments with modular synths. His releases have been signed to Mobilee, This And That and Bouq. Records, and in 2018 he collaborated with Timo Maas and Eric Volta on the masterful We Were Riding High. Grub shows no sign of slowing down in 2019 as he puts the finishing touches to his fourth studio album. One of the key figures and original residents of London party FUSE, Rich NxT's releases have been supported by the likes of tINI, Jamie Jones and The Martinez Brothers. He also heads up his own imprint, NxT Records.

Wax Factory Records returns with four atmospheric Techno track with all the usual trademark fat beats and lush chords.

Maksim Dark returns to his spiritual home of Senso Sounds - Oliver Huntemann's much touted imprint for his tougher, technoid leanings. Maksim, born in Serov, Russia, has created an indelible impression over the course of his young career, and 'Movement' is clearly the next step on his road to very great things. 'Attack Disco' is true to form - a lean, mean and tough to the bone piece of techno with a driving, powerful edge. Growling, snarling synths sound like shards of metal ripping through the groove producing an intense vibe. 'Coordinate' is a notch more reserved, but builds a killer, hypnotic groove through stripped back elements, before Maksim's off-kilter sound design provides the trippy topping. The title track 'Movement' fits its name - the track bursts with energy and atmosphere, propelled by a thick, tactile rhythm and pitched down, demonic vocal by the man himself.

Max Cooper is releasing an EP of remixes by friends and other artists he admires, on a DJ friendly 12" vinyl with 6 remixes.

It takes the LP from an incredible home listening experience and onto the dance floor. On the 12" will be the remixes from Vessels, Rival Consoles, Tom Hodge, Kimyan Law, Christian Loffler and Ash Koosha.

Next up on COS_MOS is a label debut from Tom Dicicco. The UK techno artist has amassed a fine discography on the likes of Delsin, Off Minor and Dred Records, always with a rugged and club focussed current running through what he does.

The four cuts he offers here kick off with the hammering synth stabs and coarse claps of 'Varykino', a brutal twisted dance floor mover. 'Laser Life' then cuts loose, with squeaking machines and alien life-forms jumping about in a broken beat framework that brings off balance grooves to the party. Acidic bouncing bass lines jumping over the b-side on '99 Rising', where 'Quiet Theory' flips the script again, this time with percolating and trippy synth loops rising and falling with skeletal beats stuttering below. A well balanced party pack for every hour of the night.

The score fittingly winds its way through the trials and tribulations of this journey, blending minimal and harmonic rhythms, industrial funk, dreamy synthwave and transcendental techno into the rich tapestry of music that documents the ‘Return To Telepathic Heights’. The album features original artwork by Johnny Bruck, fully licensed, and taken from the legendary German science fiction novel series, ‘Perry Rhodan’, which ran weekly from the early 1960s, and was the most successful sci-fi book series ever written.

Chained to a ladder: There's no way up. There's no way down. You're hung on a rung and there's there no place to escape as Dino Lenny delves into your innermost psyche with this heavy slice of pedigree Italian electronica. A Darkroom Dubs debut from the original craftsman, 'Chained To A Ladder' is ominous in its mood and tone, dramatic in its new romantic vocal style and uncompromised with its devilish analogue aesthetic.

Remix-wise we're unquestionably spoilt and torn in two powerful distinctive directions as label bosses Silicone Soul unleash their first production of the year with an immense 9+ minute cosmic bluesy stew, cooked slow and low with deep psychedelic flavours.

Skinnerbox, meanwhile, up the tempo with a jacking acidic 3am foray where Dino's stark spoken word is textured to trippy effect over a prickly, sinewy groove. Two versions that develop the original's story in two stark ways, this is what remixes were invented for.

Last but not least, Dino seals the deal with 'The Right Place'. A broken drum mutant powered by technoid rocket fuel, its breakbeats drive a writhing groove that's awash with touches of classic electro, new beat and hardcore with dark broadsword bass sweeps. Splashed with sudden blasts of synth colour, Dino's signature sense of contrast is visceral, focused and direct. A true homage to every genre's foundations and salute to the future, tremors can be felt from techno to drum & bass.

As the soon to be released 'Darkroom Dubs Volume IV' celebrated the last few years of releases, Dino sets the scene for another exciting chapter for the label. A chapter that will see the label continue to explore its signature atmospheric late-night sounds celebrate its 15th anniversary next year and a long awaited fifth album from Silicone Soul. French producer Etienne is a musician like few others in his field. A multifaceted individual with a knack for unearthing rare tracks and weaving them together as only he knows how, he's also a deft hand when it comes to crafting sonically-appealing house and techno. It's this meticulous way of working that's led to him to working with a close-knit group of genuinely exciting artists and labels, be it Frankfurt label Traffic or London party starters, Undersound. On his debut LP, released here via his own new imprint, Reductive, we're supplied with a killer reminder of the man's production prowess.

Spread over 2x12's, the record gets underway courtesy of the techno/electro stylings of 'Signé Furax'. An abrasive, in-your-face cut that immediately lets the listener know he means business, it's a upfront introduction to an LP that's littered with expert moments throughout. 'All About' showcases the producer's more introspective touch, while '3rd Nuke' brings us kicking and screaming back toward more forceful, synth-led planes. The first half of the record culminates courtesy of 'Forget Me Not', another space-tinged cut that takes its lead from vintage Detroit sounds.

Growling and menacing, 'Lies.Inc' then picks up where 'Forget Me Not' left off. Another twisted, gnarly jam that's been made for peak time 'floors, it's full of zest and bristling kicks from start to finish. 'The Doubtful Guest' is similar in stature, but the album takes a wonderful left turn by the time we're introduced to 'Information Society'. Much as Jeff Mills is known for pairing things back a bit courtesy of his Milsart project, Etienne does a similar trick here. The album's warmest and catchiest track, it takes us by surprise but also provides welcome respite to the slamming sounds elsewhere. The haunting sounds of 'Squall' then bring things to a conclusion courtesy of a heavily-filtered jam that wraps things up nicely and sees us out in astute fashion.

While the very essence of techno means it's often cold, unrelenting and brutal in stature, Etienne has pulled off a rare feat here by supplying us with an album that's all those things — but also catchy, melodic and thoroughly engaging throughout. Yes, this selection of tracks will bang hard on the dancefloor, but chances are they will also be the ones you'll be humming on your way home from the club.

The production of 'The Residue' was inspired by the city of London and its general living conditions. More particularly, how social cleansing, inequality and the political situation generally - and on a holistic scale - informs internal and external locus of control.

Whereas Sign of the 13th pyramid delivers eerie sounds and a post apocalyptic feeling, Haka (War dance) leans towards primal deep techno with a thick nasty driven bassline!

With support by Ghost in the machine & Remco Beekwilder who have been frequently already dropping these tunes in his sets this release will prove to be the blueprint of a hard techno underground label to keep an eye on.
