Re-issue of Mark Broom's Drift and Flip Flop tracks originally released on Mosaic in 1998. Remastered and adjusted versions. Previously unreleased dub mixes of both tracks included as well as two previously unreleased electro tracks found on the original master tapes!

The 20th release from Nina Kraviz's seminal imprint is an homage to some of the most uncompromising manifestations of electronic music imaginable. Tracing sub-cultures from the 90s to the present day, 20 interrogates the boundaries of tempo and form via hardcore, gabber, acid techno and ambient. A mix of unreleased material and essential gems, the ten-track compilation visits regulars, esoteric masters and relative newcomers on a voyage to the extremities of a global underground.

20 continues the tradition of gatefold double EPs as a conceptual album. All of the tracks are selected around a particular story, a trip, and presented as a continuous sonic landscape. All of the tracks are structured in a way that they can be mixed one with another an endless amount of times making a continuous loop, a trip, that needs only end when the party stops. Kraviz works without release dates or deadlines, enabling her to achieve a certain sound bank to shape the story, unmasking the thoughts and unraveling like a dream.

Second release from New York based label/party Frendzone. This compilation features two tracks from elusive label stalwart Ames Henry (with Paul Kav on A1.) + an experimental tech- breakbeat composition from seasoned Drum & Bass producer Fanu. Finished with straight up hardcore junglism from label veteran Octo Octa.

The ever productive Conforce returns to one of his key home labels for another exploration of his prolific deep sea techno sound. His Haedron EP has a firm dance floor focus, designed to propel you ever further forwards. Hi hats glisten like light beams penetrating the deep ocean, topped off with some timeless dub techno vibes that mixes Basic Channel with Planet E to mesmeric effect.

The material featured on this EP was recorded in Berlin over the course of a legendary week-long exploit, the kind you read about at the movies. The music is a marriage of dark synth hooks and atmospheric sound design resulting from extensive Berghain-monitored brain damage. It is very fortunate that both artists were wearing their Twin Turbo friendship bracelets at the time or they may have never even gotten past the door. In terms of raw intelligence, the top one percent of those reading of this will have picked up on the cues that these tracks are techno. The rest have nothing to feel bad about. Our hope is that both communities can work out their cognitive differences on the dance floor every night for the rest of their lives. Our business model depends on it.

Radio Slave's R-Time returns with three unreleased Fabrice Lig productions from the vaults spanning over two decades.

Scanning through his discography, Fabrice Lig's reputation for producing some of house and techno's most brilliant music is indisputable. R&S, Subject Detroit, Planet E, F-Communications, Versatile, KMS... these are only a handful of respected labels which the Belgian artist has released on. Lig now joins Matt Edwards' prestigious vinyl reissue label with three never-released tracks showcasing a sound and style that have withstood the test of time.

'The Meeting' is the most recent track on the package, delivering glorious enveloping plucks over shining string chords before Lig's signature funky melodies glide amidst jazzy cymbal rides.
On the flip, 'Nebula 101' is a retro minimal track recorded in 2015 featuring a wonky rhythm, Shruti synth bass and piercing Roland Sh101 stabs until the high octane 'Noise Revolt', which was recorded in 1995, concludes the package with thundering 909 drums, echoing snares and relentless Sh101 synths.

Having worked with L.I.E.S, Technicolour, Resident Advisor and Dekmantel, Florian Kupfer is no newbie to the House and Techno heads.

Alphonse, whose real name i am not allowed to tell you, has had releases aon several labels including hypercolour and class wrecks and dj's all over the world, currently been doing some gigs with sween - head honcho of Tone DropOut Records, at Houghton festival and in Croatia in 2019 and host parties called Dream Therapy, in London. Another great addition to our family. Then we have Jamie Blanco another real talent, who has been on the scene a long time with multiple releases and several guises with other labels and partners. Living in Melbourne, Australia at present, which shows how our sound has stretched across the world .

Track 2 - Daif - Soberman - then goes our first top gun, Daif comes at ya with a mesmerising bass line that sets the tone for this dance floor filler. Then come the bleeps and the strings in and out , highlighted by a soaring break beat ,and fat basslines . this man is hot talent , watch out .

Track 3 - Ascot/WW - Fifa98 - Here we go top gun number two, our new secret weapon Ascot/WW, offers ya a breakbeat and old rave synth , before breaking down with a rewind into a detroit bassline and haunting strings and bleeps, a real journey, and very cleverly produced another dance floor filler, and a man to watch out for.

Track 2 - Jamie Blanco - Acid Damage - Here the one and only Jamie Blanco gives us a straight up no messing in ya face acid banger. What more can i say, wicked 909 beats , big bass line and of course the acid going in and out up and down, ever changing and moving ,handclaps the lot, soaring high hats and snares , here we go .ACIEEEEEEEEED.

Track 3 - Bonus Tones Breaks 3 - Tones Breaks 3 carries on our new tradition of a little 3 min track on each ep, lots of samples and fun.

Tones 3 , kicks off with lots of scratching and a fierce break beat , and 'GO' sample , before changing with a bubbling bassline, and ripping break beat , then the inevitable bleeps and four four over breaks , this 3 mins of pure break beat chaos, just how we love it .

Long time kept in the pipelines, we are proud to welcome the discreet, although agitated newcomer Legion 808 conveying his debut vinyl release on the label. Composed while stuck in some kind of hallucinated trance, his mind and body cemented behind the four walls of his Parisian apartment, the Frenchman ultimately unleashes a scathing first entry into his discography. Taking the shape of a vicious six track mini-album, long brewed with ruthless humor, oozing fever and nervous breakdowns, 'Tombouctou Crisis' feels as vigorous as a slap in the face. Making up for some of the best industrial bedroom music we've heard as of late, he always manages to find his way back to the surface throughout the many layers of bizarre grooves and caustic humor, zealous snare attacks and strange nursery rhymes. Only to uncover a depressurized atmosphere of sorts; from which a strong smell of burned asphalt never gets off your clothes.

Adventurous, abstract, and deeply up-for-it rave music from Code Walk, a young Danish duo picked up for Peder Mannerfelt Produktion’s first release of 2018

With ‘Distance’ the Copenhagen residents showcase a diverse brief to their sound, equally prone to take in elusive 150bpm electro oddities as mutant breakbeats and bullish techno, and all with a knowing push’n pull of abstraction and function that’s always been key to the strongest techno music since day one.

In six diverse parts the pairing work on, off and around the beat with varying levels of agility. They’re most thrilling when they go fast, far-out and near-weightless, as with the mercurial flow of opener ‘Distance’, and again with the scudding ghetto-tech bounce of ‘Red’ and their smudged power ambient ace, ‘The Same As Me’. But while those cuts are all eminently danceable, the other tracks are perhaps more conventionally ‘floor-focussed, from the flinty breakbeat and noise jag of ’Touch’, to the soggy bass drum march and sci-fi synth strokes of ‘Streak’, and the squared-off, cranky, Surgeon-esque buck of ‘Monitor’.

Following Code Walk’s 2017 debut ‘Doubler’ for CPH’s Ex Local/F12 labels, ‘Distance’ unpackages bold new angles to the duo’s style certain to spark fevered interest from explorative techno DJs and dancers.

As we said before, this monster dropped on Easy Street in '90, and has been caned by the most discerning of DJ's and diggers across the galaxy ever since. infamous producer AKA Silent Witness. This is the first in a four-part series of
deadly rough club cuts.

The electro revival that had ushered in the new millennium was in full swing and this was to prove a seminal tune, being voted track of the year by Groove magazine. As if to prove a point the bass line still grabs you the moment it drops, while the laser-guided melodies feel as relevant today as they ever did. Now with this limited hand stamped whitelabel Dutch master Benny Rodriguez aka ROD steps up under his new Younger Rebinds alias with even more intensity than demonstrated on last year’s ‘Sound of Benny EP’ on Running Back. Picking apart the original with almost forensic attention to detail, he gives new life to each individual strand in the form of two exhilarating mixes that seem destined to leave their mark on dance floors around the globe for the foreseeable future. Remix one strips things down to the raw, dirty basics giving the phasing bass riff some real breathing space as the hook line slowly unfurls amid a flurry of filtered ADSR madness to create absolute havoc. A series of peaks and troughs ensue, as Rodriguez effortlessly toys with the crowd, frying the synapses and gorging on serotonin, as the mix motors relentlessly to its conclusion. Following releases from Trevor Jackson and Jack Latham (Jam City), this new 12" on Utter features a rare alternate 'Dry' version of legendary Post-Industrial/Ambient group O Yuki Conjugate's 'Insect-Talk' from their 1995 album 'Equator' alongside contemporary versions by Tolouse Low Trax (Salon Des Amateurs), Howes (Cong Burn / NTS Radio) and OYC themselves. The record includes an insert illustrated by Andrew Hulme (OYC) and each outer sleeve is hand-stamped with insects in various formations.

Enzo Siragusa adds fuel to FUSE's milestone 10-year anniversary with the release of a metamorphic album that draws influence from the London institution's cultivated sound, as well as the capitals '90s rave heritage that so heavily influenced their decade-long dominance.

On A Decade of Rave, Enzo presents a cross section of his sound - one that has refined this fusion of jungle roots with house, creating eight straight-talking dance floor cuts that capture the essence of FUSE raves over the years, and two ambient tracks that lean on lengthy quests behind the decks. The music spans across two years of studio sessions and exhibits Enzo and the FUSE label's biggest work to date.

Starting with 'Beautiful Emi', then shifting through 'Stromboli', 'Mixed Emotions' and 'Paradigm Shift' all geared in their own way towards the many faces of house music.

'Voodoo', 'Deeper Inside', 'Rollin' Riddim' and closing track 'Mysterious' see Enzo tap into Jungle, '90s hardcore and speed garage becoming clear they were made with the early days of FUSE at 93 Feet East in mind. From pounding beats and acid sounds to dark pads and hypnotic hooks, this record packs serious power and finesse. A multi-faceted techno record that showcases the genre's multiple possibilities.

Iceland's Dynkur debuts on FALKdisks with four thunderous cuts entitled 'Tschu¨ssi' EP.

Dynkur is the creative alias of Thordur Arnarson who's been working with sound for over twenty years through DJing, engineering and instrument creation. Dynkur represents the rough side of Thordur's sound with exploration and improvisation being an intricate part of his process. Arnarson experiments by morphing beats and textures together which can be heard not only in his recordings but also in his live shows with an appearance at Sonar in his hometown of Reykjavi´k coming up later in 2019. Dynkur's 'Tshu¨ssi' EP sees him join FALKdisks, the sub-label of FALK (Fuck Art Let's Kill) following the likes Asmus Odsat and Jo´nbjo¨rn, as well as AAIIEENN and Lord Pusswhip on the main label.

'Trk01' begins with resonating kicks, acid synth zaps and undulating, angelic pads before 'Errrare' maintains the gritty sound design delivering sharp modulations, pacey drums and eccentric, wavering tones. Raw elements layered with pitched down, distorted percussion and shrilling oscillations make way for 'Arecibo' until 'Ocean of Sound' finishes things off with haunting synth keys, esoteric vocal samples and machine-like pulsations thudding in and out of focus.

Following the release of their short film 'The Awakening' and its accompanying single, Lost Souls Of Saturn share the first remix in 9 years by revered musician James Holden. Over thirteen minutes of crisp, stratospheric elegance, Holden’s rework is both slightly mad and simultaneously blissful – like a trance-state reached through frenzied, spiritual ritual.

“I believe in serendipity: if the universe presents you with something that seems right, you should go with it”, says Holden. “When this record hit my desk was one of those moments. Recently I'd been thinking a lot about rave utopias, the pan-global fantasy painted by the early days of Future Sound Of London etc, and listening to LSOS's Jodorowskian ceremonials I felt like they'd caught the same winds. And so, although I thought I'd finished doing remixes for this lifetime, here it is; some kind of dream of a memory of a rave, the spookiness of the original slightly eclipsed by my warm feelings about Seth's good energy!”

The original version of ‘The Awakening’ begins as a serene ambient spacecast, before an ancient alien rite of tribal frenzy starts to emerge through the phosphorescent stardust – sonically somewhere between Demdike Stare and classic Orb, by way of Don Cherry.
Primarily LSOS are Seth Troxler and Phil Moffa, plus further opaque participants congregating to combine music, imagery and storytelling into an inextricably linked whole, all wrapped-up in a philosophy of their own making.
Attempting something creatively that’s above-and-beyond, LSOS explore new ways to open doors of perception and challenge the reality vs. simulation paradigm, whilst capturing the spirit of Philip K. Dick, Sun Ra and the KLF within their music, live experiences and films.
These spiritual, psychoactive aural vibrations resonate for a long distance, all the way back to something deeper and more enchanting than the prosaicism of modern life:

Six years have passed since the events of Welcome to Mikrosector-50 and Mr. 8040's subsequent meltdown that saw him almost destroy himself across the width of the entire galaxy.

Although everything is better now that Mr. 8040 has overcome his taste for space dust and vecta grog from Quadrant PVLN - It has not been so simple and he has been quietly returning to full capacity over the course of the last year.

Once again in our time, Mr. 8040 finds himself secluded in his electropod - cut off from the rest of the planet.

In 2017, Bartellow deviated from ESP Institute's celebrated Tambien, the Bavarian trio (alongside Public Possession's Marvin and Valentino) whose two prior releases had stormed castles across the land, and graced us with his debut 2xLP Panokorama. He set a high bar for discerning listeners, painting grand gestures from a rened palette and bending unconventional audio sources into a rich textural melange. Now, two years later, a motley crew of producers reimagines two of Bartellow's captivating album cuts. Side A leads with a blistering bastardization of Sala Sensi by Florian Kupfer, a down-and-dirty mechanic from the neighboring L.I.E.S. camp who's built a base of thick relentless drum patterns that batters beneath disorienting machines and a haphazardly stabbing piano. Following this, Stockholm depth-charger Skudge strips away the lth, reducing Clypp to a few tidy elements and focuses on their warm hypnotic nature. Side B holds a distorted mirror to its former, leading again with Sala Sensi but Chateau Flight's Gilb'r twists the music into an exquisite corpse, a loose amalgamation of late-night sessions from his Amsterdam studio interwoven as one. Rounding out this bizarre exercises is another remix of Clypp by longtime collaborator from Osaka, Ground—this reciprocates for Bartellow's remix of 2018's Logos—and the musical approach here is somewhat of a Ground calling card; playful, psychedelic, organic and dripping wet. Upon rst listen, this collection may feel disparate as utensils in a kitchen sink, but with time spent pinging between all four corners, we discover a sense of freedom in amongst their disengagement, an unapologetic 'fuck you.'

Berlin techno collective STAUB is about to celebrate six years of existence. STAUB runs monthly daytime events at Berlin's ://about blank club. Line-up stays secret, and main focus is on the music. During these years, STAUB travelled to Detroit, Bogota, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Milan and more.

Fourth release of STAUB will be out on Irakli's new label Intergalactic Research Institute for Sound, and will be available at the event STAUB 6 Years Anniversary on February 22-23.

As the pop charts continue to speed up with euro-trance inflected R&B dross clogging up the upper echelons of what is considered popular these days, Apollo Records returns to soothe the senses. As the world around us frantically loses its head, there's a sea-change going on in underground music - a shift towards slowing the tempo down. The recent R&S label's resurrection has firmly planted it back as one of the most forward thinking electronic labels, but with A&R and operations now based in London, Renaat Vandepapeliere, original founder of the legendary label, is at the controls of Apollo from his base in Ghent to release the music he loves.

Over the years Apollo has heard the likes of Aphex Twin (Selected Ambient Works Vol 1), Robert Leiner, DJ Krush, Cabaret Voltaire & Biosphere pass through its ears. With R&S mainly releasing audio aimed primarily at the floor - especially in its first more techno led incarnation in the 90's - the Apollo output was something so distinct, that it had to be enveloped in its own home. Skewed more towards the more minimal forms of this electronic art-form, on Apollo releases if the beat encroaches it's more likely to be of the low slung variety.

Step forward Manchester's Joe Synkro to champion the soundscapes of the newly resurrected canvas. Effortlessly transcending electronic genres with his brand of deep, bass driven music, Synkro is primarily known for his dub-step and two-step production on Exit, Blackout Music, & Med School. With a wide range of thoughtful and, at times, beautifully delicate sounds he's picked up plaudits from corners as diverse as Instra:mental, Giles Peterson, Mary Anne Hobbs and Chris Coco. The past few years have seen his sound mature and him master various tempos with his original output. With this four-track EP we listen as Synkro examines the deeper side of his psyche and takes us into landscapes as yet uncharted.

Reflective and contemplative, the warm swathes of synths and contorted vocals on opener 'Broken Promise' lay the mandate for the journey ahead. A muffled kick drum sits low in the mix, keys drift through the ambience and you can just see that first chink of sunlight on the horizon if you look very closely.

'Why Don't You' is a slow jam of sorts. Stuttered Manchester sulphuric soul with guitar licks to boot, you're transported to the depths of a low-ceilinged New York basement. The track's vocal hook is a call and response that wouldn't sound out of place on a SBTRKT production or in one of Wolf & Lamb's slo-mo get downs. 'Memories of Love' continues where 'Why Don't You' left off. A reply.

I might be mistaken but 'Knowledge' to these ears echoes the sounds recorded from Jupiter on Nasa's voyage to this far flung planet. One of the most naturally foreboding sounds I've heard and which many a producer tries to emulate. A low-slung, almost tribal rhythm creeps into the mix, giving way to what sounds like dialogue from the actual space voyage

It's difficult to dissect each track too much as the whole release was obviously constructed to be listened to in its entirety in those late, late nights and early mornings when perceptions are warped and senses distorted. This EP cements Synkros increasing prevalence amongst his luminaries and the incredible envelope pushing going on at the moment in the electronic music world.

Second reissue of Teersom's two part 12" series. Hard, gritty, consistent but also genuinely free flowing. With it's non-hit focal point it's always cemented in basic & core elements of techno as known from basement environments. Sides are stylistically only separated by the hard hitting cymbal introduced midway on Side-B, elsewise they complement each other as versions.

Swedish electro-dubstar Andreas Tilliander does a mean pair of acid dubs for Dub On Arrival, a new wing of Joachim Nordwall’s iDEAL Recordings institution

A longtime affiliate of the label, both under his own name and also as Mokira, Andreas Tilliander is a prime candidate to kick off their 7” dub series, bringing decades of echo chamber experience to a brilliant pair of sloshing acid dubs.

In signature style on the A-side’s ‘Expect Resistance’, Tilliander smudges the contours of a 303 and chirruping melodica until they resemble a curdled, lysergic reflection of Jamaican dub proper, highlighting its inherent links to house and techno.

On the B-side ‘Respect Existence’ he goes slower, more spacious and plasmic, like one of Rhythm & Sound’s drowsiest, a la ‘Roll Off’, but merged with early Plastikman-esque acid for a tactfully trippy, psychedelic effect Tilliander can safely call his own.

A1: Damn – deez be some underwater dwellers. Hittin that snare like dem old boys – Lee Scratch or Mad Professor; This stuff is on fire, and not for Fyre; Works on real floors, can’t #Hashtag that shit.
A2: Mr. Max takes us down the Cavelerra highway; Starting with a solid and sparse veneer, turns into a wicked acid-filled warehouse jack. Throw in a strobe and some smoke and away we go.
B1: Old school maestro goes into stormy moody mode. Applying the simple counterpunch with a long and winding synth line, Edgar sneaks in a menacing acid line – teleporting you into the deepest corners of dystopian space. Definitely some shamanic tendencies going on here.
B2: The Anarchy Skyalkers. Nomen est omen. B-boy beats, 90ties rave; Boats and Hoes; Acid in da House; Repeat after me.

YPY is back with his third full-length album, his second on EM Records, following his 2016 debut Zurhyrethm, and 2020 on Where To Now? YPY is the solo alias of Osaka-based Koshiro Hino, who has honed his rhythmic instincts as leader of the acclaimed Japanese band goat and the sound installation/theatre project GEIST and Virginal Variations. His preoccupation with propulsion is on full display here, across five tracks of varying density and intensity, all thoroughly beat-oriented, with skeins of synthesized and sampled sound stretching to the horizon, rising from a bedrock of minimal drum machine pulses, all lovingly embraced in a cassette-borne sonic fug. The cover image and title hearken back to Hino’s past, with the image obscurely referencing his yesteryear green mohawk, and the title derived from Talking Heads, but this effervescent album, though recorded using cassette technology, is not a sad tale of nostalgia, rather a look at a present/pleasant reality. A beautiful swimmer is a small blue crab. The Beautiful Swimmers are Ari Goldman and Andrew Field-Pickering (AKA Max D). And you, my friend, are about to get high on the happy. They’re here to take you on a gleeful joyride around their collective musical imagination.

The Swimmers are full-bore record enthusiasts you see, but whereas you might associate this with squirrelly, exclusive and crabby sorts, they are inclusive, human and warm. It’s a wide-eyed ebullient romp and the joy of discovery is one to share. And to see them DJ IS a joy - they’re having at least
as much fun as anyone else in the room, locked together tight, riding the same wave.

So even when shit gets somewhat darker, the tempos higher and sounds gnarlier (Analogous Doom) the world is never grey. When we’re stone cold balearic in the Adriatic (Plunky) the vibe is up, young and fun. Banging them B’more house beats? Well, you’re probably going to be recognising a welcoming RnB sample (KW Griff).

The Hague Based Producer Cultuurschok Releases His First Ep On False Flag Records. 'op Sterven Na Dood' Holds Four Tracks Of Unpolished Melodic Techno And Energetic Electro.

FireScope welcomes the amazingly talented Russ Gabriel aka Mr Ferox with his debut Firescope EP - The Controller.

The opener and title track 'Controller' twists and turns its bass line to speak to us in tongues. With no kick drum, this one is interlaced with strings and percussion and the melody of a future classic. 'Drimmits' takes over the reins and is a surprising contrast with its pounding kick drum and accompanying bass groove, lush strings and an upbeat happy vibe.

Turning to the B Side 'The Way To Go' leads the way. When label boss Steven Rutter heard Russ jamming with this on a FaceBook Live stream he just had to sign it. Reminiscent of some early Detroit techno, this one uses glorious pads to evolve into and epic track. Leading out we have 'Nova Deep' with a nice retro feel and prominent bass line once again. This joyful uplifting track could have you dancing around or just chilling out with your headphones on.

Vin Sol is a third-generation San Franciscan of Salvadorean descent who has released on Unknown to the Unknown, Clone, Delft, Honey Soundsystem, and Ultramajic. His DJ sets expertly span the genres of house, electro, techno, italo, disco, soul, funk, and whatever other finds he digs up. He's also a musical partner of Matrixxman, AKA Charlie Duff, with whom he started the Soo Wavey label. His current focus is on the wild monthly party and label Club Lonely, which he runs with Primo Pitino and Jeremy Castillo. 'Planet Trash' consists of 10 tracks spread across 2 slabs of vinyl and a bonus flexi disc. Vin started working on the album in the winter of 2017 while taking a break from making club tracks. Simultaneously he also wanted to disconnect from the grip of the internet and 24 hour news cycle. Spending more time outside, he became entranced by the Bay Area fog. Sutro Tower wholly enveloped in mist is a view that inspired the ambient tracks on the album. You will also hear hints of the Latin freestyle and classic acid that informed Vin's youth. By spring of 2018 Vin headed to Berlin to finish the album and work on a collaboration with Matrixxman, an homage to SF musical institution Bottom of the Hill that kicks off side C. Vin's musical approach is honest, using the tools of the trade to both innovate upon and pay respect to classic forms. All songs have been mastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. Each copy is housed in a jacket using photos by Vin Sol, and designed by Kevin McCaughey of Boot Boyz Biz. It includes a 4-color giant newsprint fold-out poster and golden flexi disc.

Fold strips it all back with his Toastie Re-rub, melting out the lower end to deliciously slippery effect emanating in an up-to-date mutant stomper. Fresh.

Three ultimate Jungle Techno tracks, two new and one reloaded Dubplate tune that DJ Ratty used to play in 1993, totally remade from scratch. One of those records you will regret not buying. 10/10

It's easy to fall for a nostalgic approach to dance music, to cuddle oneself in the warm analogue sounds of late 1980's dance productions - especially with the heavy ongoing reissue trend going on. However, we have to stay focus: look out for contemporary sounds and means of production. Parisian producer Nathan Melja makes his debut on Antinote with an idiosyncratic three-tracker and our guess is that it sounds contemporary.

On the A-side: one tune: Deadrums. Both the name and the music speak for themselves. It's hard, it's efficient and at the same time, there's quite a lot going on, tiny bumps on the straightforward road to techno ecstasy. Nevertheless, Deadrums is a precise piece of machinery, an atmospheric banger, yes, but with deadly jaws made out of tempered steel to tear a dancefloor apart, piece-by-piece. On the B-side, Angels stands out as a perfect example of a song that has many dancefloor qualities but, like some of DJ Sprinkles' seminal recordings, turns out to be more of a late-night tale of urban wanderings on wet pavements (think Taxi Driver and its soundtrack by Bernard Hermann). Contemplative, melancholic and - let's say it - sad, its nagging melody can bring a little tear to the eyes of the most sensitive ones. Rounding up the 12' is Candy, a tune under the influence of bad boys like DJ Overdose, or Ghettotech legend DJ Assault - so that you can dry your tears.

It's Nathan Melja's first release on Antinote, but he's definitely not a newcomer. He's been around since Antinote exists, and we're glad to finally collaborate with him.

The frosty melancholy of Citizen // Nowhere is reworked by London producer Manni Dee into something altogether monstrous. Introducing itself with a kick drum powerful enough to level a warehouse, and only getting more urgent from there forward, Dee's remix blends a knowing rave glint in the eye with a nonetheless uncompromising stance.

The Copenhagen-via-Moscow producer Anastasia Kristensen immediately justifies her status as a rapidly rising talent on the scene, locking into a delicate yet no less powerful groove for her sparkling remix of Glitter. Seamlessly heightening the almost meditative qualities of Avery's original, she weaves a blissful rhythmic trip, taking in razor-sharp percussions and spectral dub techno.

A longstanding fixture on the Midwest US rave scene, Patrick Russell applies his typical grit to 'Song For Alpha's firmly dancefloor focused centrepiece, Diminuendo. In subtly shifting the focus to the track's passages of overwhelming feedback, he sculpts a black hole of snarling electro and piston-like breaks, sure to prove an inviting wormhole to those willing to surrender further, deeper and darker.

Pigmalião is moving forward in his musical direction and sound, this release really shows where he is and is going. The tracks Aurora and Baskéda are ever moving sounds of energy sure to a dark basement but keeping the originality Pigmalião always has making his tracks stand out in the constant traffic of electronic music being released. Zingili is another great example of his always great sample selection taking you on a Fifth Element style mechanical beats journey to a distant planet's civilisation and the final track Bahiafro takes the album down in energy to a slower tempo but hauntingly beautiful, like that long slow journey back to Earth with the memories of the amazing adventure you have just been on.

R&S welcome Parisian Sacha Khalife AKA Shcaa with his new double headed single 'An Ungrateful Death / Pacific Gold', following up on his stellar EP on NYC's Blank Slate back in 2015, two killer releases through Archipel and a more recent LP on Sharingtones.

Abstract, deep and dripping with atmosphere, 'An Ungrateful Death' takes the listener on an epic trippy journey - sensuous rhythms and choppy guitars giddly colide while mumbled vocals offer a dreamy counterpoint before the whole piece transitions into an uneasily blissed out ambient coda. On the flip 'Pacific Gold' continues the abstraction, freeform guitar licks skitter and bounce around a loose limbed micro-house groove.

A producer, composer and guitarist based in Paris, Khalife's restless musicality manages to uniquely meld electronics with blues, house and jazz without seeming forced. "My music found its first legitimacy within the structure of house music, the grooves as rails to let free peculiar shades," he explains "I try to not allow my music to fall into mindless experimentations, hopefully the graphic rhythms justify their abstraction."

With 'An Ungrateful Death / Pacific Gold' sure to delight and confound dancefloors across the continent, it's going to be interesting to see where Shcaa takes his music next.

The legendary Moscow club Propaganda celebrates its 20th Anniversary in April 2017 and launches a brand new record label. The label will cover different styles of intelligent electronic music, focusing on techno in the first year. At the beginning there will be released music by great artists who had performances at Propaganda club in past. More artists will be involved and more excellent music will be released over time.

2019 marks the return of Austrian electro duo Microthol with the project's first EP since 2011. Don't be fooled by its unassuming title: 'Transmissions' is the culmination of years of sonic research. From techno-esque opener 'Hostile Invasion' to 'Transmission 0608's soundtrack of a burning space ship spiralling out of control - 'Transmissions' is much the sonic equivalent of a wormhole linking the aural orbits of Ultradyne and Autechre.

Lebanon Hanover's bassist William Maybelline is back with his solo project. After the debut album Sable from 2015, Qual strikes back with a three-track 12' maxi-single. Each one of these new songs explore a different dimension of Maybelline's approach to Body/Wave electronics.

The title-track Cupio Dissolvi is what we may already call classic Qual: gloomy and throbbing, synth-driven and labyrinthine. A Bloody Blob explores new martial slants, with war-like timpani and a marching robot gait. Rape Me in the Parthenon is a 8 minute long dancefloor mayhem anthem scanned by some pounding techno drumbeat and EBM snare and pads. The most alert of you already checked this in some Ancient Methods DJset. By far the most extreme track Qual recorded so far.

'Buried in flowers with hands of gold / Buried together we'll never mold' shall be thy epitaph here, as well as your message engraved on virgin vinyl.

Returning victorious to M-Plant after the Floorplan album and EP takeover, Robert Hood, whose work under his own name has continued to garner equal support with the 'Paradygm Shift' series for Dekmantel, brings the heat with this triple-tracker. The original minimal techno master wastes no time with 'Clocks'. There's a sense of urgency as the track builds, looping into its crescendo with waves of staccato hi-hats. Tick tock, tick tock. Over on the flip side there's a familiarity in the opening chords of 'Low Life' that will resonate with fans of Hood's work. Instantly recognisable, it's stamped with his ability to bring funk and groove to the colder stomp of techno.Final opus, 'Go' brings a spiralling samba tempo to the dancefloor. The punchy drumbeat is interwoven with sweeping cymbals for a highly effective infectiousness, like a call to arms, or better still, the Brazilian call to carnival.

The promising opener is then followed by "The Optimist", a track that slowly morphs from shadowy breakbeats into some serious trance euphoria.
On the B-Side, Fear-E provides "Alamogordo" with the high energy 909-foundation that we all know and love from the Glasgow-based producer and his releases on "Dixon Avenue Basement Jams". Bremen's Ray Monero finally closes the whole thing down with his - Pessimistic Future Remix", a surprising take on "The Optimist" that combines heavy
breaks with spaced out pads.

Redstone Press co-founder Pseudopolis returns to the label for his second 12" with a harder edged and faster paced flirtation between UK Techno, electro and breaks.

The A-side dives straight into kaleidoscopic hypnosis with an intense drum workout on 'Yaris Crew' & the haunted synth lines and tripped out dub stabs of 'Pressure'. Whilst the B-side hikes up the bass-weight with urgent twisted breaks on 'Frenzied' and peaks with the patient building euphoria of 'Dirty Palette Cleanser'.

Cement returns with its second story - this time delving deeper into the dub techno abyss on the A-side with Montreal veteran Mateo Murphy's banger "Black River". It has peak hour written all over it with its full-on sound and tantilising dub atmosphere; a dark flowing bassline builds into a droney crescendo. Next Sonitus Eco of Silent Season, his label HAAV and the crucial Verdant delivers a coup de grace of dub techno. Stripped back with an effective 808 pattern, his tenacity with pads and atmospheric space echo gives "Ruffcut" its character and leaves you wanting more.
On the flip side, the elusive CMNT returns for another arpeggio-laden journey. With a constant kick and airy hats pattern, occasional stabs, melodic notes and some random human voices give texture to "White Heat".
Finally, label founder Caspian Rabone's electro moniker Fourmatic, drops a spacey electro workout "Ectosketch". Playing with tonal rhythms, the track unveils awkward synth hooks and metallic strings to keep things edgey.

To celebrate a century of outstanding releases, LNOE drops its first compilation; tracks selected by Sasha's invited guest remixers. Radio Slave, Frankey & Sandrino and Locked Groove step up for their label debut, while Fur Coat, John Monkman, Dubspeeka, BAILE and VONDA7 return.

After almost 8 years as a platform for new and established artists as well as for Sasha's own productions, Last Night On Earth is a global success. Primarily known as Codex Empire, Mahk Rumbae slides his Antechamber project over to Horo for an EP of crushing, relentless stagger-tech.

Following on from his s/t Antechamber debut for Instruments Of Discipline, Rift sees the artists minimalist brutality refined into an even more dominant language. From the nightmare grinds of Dagger Complex and Rift to the sinister rhythm of Repudiation and the conjuring ambience that emanates from Arch of Hysteria, the Rift EP offers an intimidating assemblage of doom laden sonics. The limited vinyl edition of this release is a 10" cut onto a 12" plate.

Ghost Ships, the label, will be a non expected music mirage that its planned to appear and then be vanished . This is the first release out of five, with a limited run of only 100 copies, each one of the releases will accompanied with a series of artworks in which we interpret as space figures created by artist Meesh Nah. The first cut is made by Butch Sundance and Joone, sticking to a just hardware and analogue process manifesto on the X side 'Star Meltdown' hypnotic and atmospheric, arpeggiated melodies driving the track from start to end with a solid beat. Y side 'Planet X' house flavoured track with distinctive synth stabs, percussion and piano breakdown.

"Brighton-based producer Caldera joins up with Boogie Box Records offering four broken techno cuts titled '13 17' this November.
Originally from Germany, Caldera has been making steady progress within the off kilter techno scene whether as a resident at Brighton's Patterns, or releases on WNCL Recordings, Noorden and his Riviera Club label. His first production outing of the year so far, Caldera now joins Boogie Box's ever impressive roster of artists, following quality releases from the likes of STL, Cain, Causa and Appleblim, not to mention remixes from Shed, Forest Drive West, Fold, Jonas Friedlich and Juniper.
Kicking things off, 'Akman's Rhythm' deploys organic rolling percussion fused harmoniously over the intricate, outlandish melody and fluid bass line whilst 'Old Hands' delivers spaced-out, leftfield drums balanced with soothing resonance and warm vibrations.
'Anaconda Legs' offers dusty grooves throughout, keeping it deep and fluid through subtle, fluttering synths and hypnotic oscillations. Finally, 'A Moment To Breathe' pitches things down, incorporating a darker atmosphere as unfolding chugged out pulsations join recondite ambience."

Token starts off 2019 with aplomb, courtesy of a new three-tracker from Inigo Kennedy. Entitled Trajectory, this set of compositions continues to cement his legacy as an innovator who has been evolving his own style for more than two decades now. Starting off with the thwacking title track, Kennedy balances bright melodies and ethereal chords alongside rhythms that stir long after the track has faded away. "Tone Poem" is methodically coy around emboldened percussive storytelling that takes center-stage up until its last moments. "Turmoil" is a sci-fi trip that beams down to the dancefloor with thundering drums.

M.A.D. is a collaboration of the Funkroom DJs and producers Moxx And Digilog.

After having contributed single tracks for YOSHI005 and WWM003 they subsequently announced their first EP together as M.A.D.

Their 'Sanset EP' consists of four drum-oriented House/Techno hybrids which, through their cutting-edge production, stand the test of time and work very well with contemporary dancefloor-minded club music alike.
