Qnete came to our long closed record store, Time And Place, in Bremen and worked for us at the coat check at Downtown - Grey Cities oldest gay venue - while we me made our SWEAT Nights happen. He inhaled anything about house music and electronic music he could get into his tender hands and blends all these experiences into his own events, carries it to friends and shapes it into his own kind of musical output.
Three drummachine driven tracks with their own, young dynamic, interpretation of energy, each with its particular bandwidth from filigree to raw documenting a lovely time we had.

Delsin's next trick is a debut double 12" from Sentomea, an Amsterdam native, real name Sander Schuurman, you might not have heard of but a real synth freak. Exclusively producing his music in hardware-based live takes, and that gives rise to perfectly imperfect stuff that feels visceral and alive. Often making music with a visual connection, this EP is full of versatile 909 beats and fizzing electronic textures. 'Relative Solace' is up first and is a frosty house trip with bell textures and melancholic strings sounding all celestial and heavenly. 'Wander' is all about a sludgy 909 groove being lit up with bright strings and icy hi hat ringlets as dissonant pads stretch and skew all about the arrangement then 'Fortitude Boogie' has classic Detroit pads, a lovely broken rhythm and a funkateer bassline that makes the whole cut dance and emotional dance. 'Fluid' is more stripped back and clean, with rubbery 909 drums plodding below watery, gurgling synth sounds up top and this most expressive and textural EP closes with the experimental FM synthesis that is 'Matter' with its raw, off beat grooves and glassy surfaces, and finally 'Reminiscent,' a horizontal, star gazing cut that encourages you to lay back and day dream in the grass.

Trevino is Marcus Intalex. He is widely known for making underground drum and bass. In 2011 he started the Trevino alias to feed his desire to get back to his roots and rekindle his 4 to the floor spirit. He was originally a house and techno dj learning his trade in the late eighties/early nineties. He was a regular hacienda punter, a huge fan of the belleville 3 and a keen late night reveller travelling throughout the UK to clubs and raves way before drum and bass even thought of. He worked his way up in the 90's via working in records shops, djing in clubs and radio, promoting events and producing some significant dnb 12's. From the end of the 90's marcus has been in high demand flying around the world peddling his love for deep drum and bass. He still does this but he now also splits his dj calendar with his other alias Trevino and his love for all things 4/4. Well most things, certainly not gabba or hard house or gospel house or scouse house or anything too happy or too cheesy or too slow or too fast or too hard or too soft....sorry i digress..

Marcus's other major passion is golf. He plays regulary, or he did before he moved toGermany, now he doesn't play at all but that's another story. The alias Trevino is named after Lee Trevino, his favourite golfer when he was growing up. Birdie, well you can guess the obvious golf reference there. There are also track titles of some his previous release that bare the names from the golfing glossary. For him it's just a bit of self indulgence. He doesn't take himself at all seriously and certainly ain't lead by image, fashion or changes in demand and music styles. He likes it pure.

So this all leads us to his current project. Entitled Front', this double ep/ album project has obvious golf connotations. The project will come in two parts with Back' to follow sometime within the next 12 months. Both will contain 9 tracks in the same way a golf course has 18 holes split into two halves Front & Back.

Marcus is keen to point out that the music has nothing to do with golf whatsoever, its just an idea he thought was a good challenge and keeps the golf thing rolling.

So here they are, 9 tracks, aimed squarely at the floor. Nothing too arsey or technical or intellectual, just 8 solid dancefloor cuts plus one short beatless thing to help make them all fit onto the vinyl..

Who Whom is a new label curated by Scuba. The artists are various, the sound particular.The second 12' comprises tracks by Isaac Reuben, Glaskin, Palendrone and Markus Suckut and is titled 'Heavy On The Magick.

Vincenzo Maurices debut EP is a four-tracker, covering the range of hard hitting & distorted analog techno including a sturdy acid tinge while on the B2 we have Die Roh who delivers a perfect remix to bring the record back to it's shaky shaky house vibe.

Techno maverick, Vitalic, will be releasing the first single taken from his new album, 'Rave Age' on October 1st via Different Recordings. Entitled 'Stamina', it will feature artwork by legendary artist, Storm Thorgerson and remixes from Club Cheval and Le Castle Vania.
Renowned for his blistering, sought after productions, Vitalic will up the ante with an incendiary, brand new VTLZR live show starting in Europe this October all through till December.
The new album, 'Rave Age' looks set to be one of the standout releases of 2012. Mixed by legendary production wizard, Stephane Alf Briat, known for his work with Air and Phoenix, 'Rave Age' is a ballsy, firecracker of an album that showcases not just a passion for big room, electro smashers and electronica, but a broad set of influences that stretch from punk and film soundtracks to disco and indie dance.
Showcasing a myriad of talent roped in to give this album added punch, it features the vocal efforts of Joe Reeves (Shit Disco) on 'Fade Away' and 'Next I'm Ready'. French starlets Owlle and Rebeka Warrior (Sexy Sushi) appear on 'Under Your Sun' and 'La Mort Sur Le Dancefloor'. Mickael Karkousse from Belgium electro rockers, Goose, lends his skills to 'Rave Kids Go'.

Red Vinyl To celebrate this second anniversary, we are issuing this limited edition on red vinyl, pressed on one side only, for music lovers and collectors. It includes an unreleased track by 30drop and a remix by none other than The Black Dog, the legendary band from Sheffield and masters of a sound midway between the experimentation of the early days of the Warp label.

Rimini, Italy's Simbiosi rip out their first 12" proper on the Cosmo Rhythmatic label after leaving a wide berth since their debut 3LP shockout, Elements for Actress' Werk Discs imprint in 2015 and a subsequent appearance on Actress' DJ-Kicks mix. In a fiercely condensed session of hardcore techno thistle and knackered throbs, the Indastria EP slugs like a rusty Italian motor with a wonky cam shaft, constantly threatening to spin out of control with each gear shift but kept on course by way of backstreet-mechanic engineering
It's grim and remorselessly underground material, banking the escalating NPLGNN-style filtered noise of HRD90 at the front and cycling thru the bombed-out doom core trample of Indastria to the depressive collapse of Eve with its carmine horror pads on Side A, then spluttering out the tarry churn of Dicentra and chaotic inverted bass drum pressure of Teiwsjh to round out the B-side and leave no doubts behind their primitive intentions.

Fourth release of UMS Recordings. Split EP by Mr. Svreca and the label owner Alex Guerra. On the A side Svreca - Warszawa is a pulsing dark droning techno, tunnelling groove which grows in intensity and deepness as it builds. Solid sound. On the AA side Alex Guerra with "Make Decisions" and "Matter" deliver two effective dj tools directly to the dancefloor. Dark and dusty techno for the peak time on the club.

Lanthan.audio kicked off 2016 with its third release. Label owner, Christian Gerlach, has already delivered two powerful punches of conceptual techno by artists like Edit Select and Deepbass. This time the South African born, New York based producer the Echologist has been chosen to lead the five track EP.

Echologist, also known as Brendon Moeller, has always demonstrated his passion for hypnotic synths with intense smoky atmospheres. He delivers two original tracks that have then been remixed by a familiar name to the label, Deepbass, as well as the talented Antonio Ruscito.

With the original cuts you can expect a trippy journey into metallic loops on a spatial environment of solid beats. The Deepbass remix offers another version of the hypnotic process in 'Dead Men Tell No Tales' in a more powerful manner.

On the flipside, the Italian, Antonio Ruscito delivers two other interpretations of the original track through different paths. The B2 serves us a proper banging synthetic vibe and the last bonus track, which is digital only, is the final trip to an hypnotic and cloudy deepspace.

With this package Lanthan.audio continues showing interest on a structural sound with that artistic touch of architecture. Expect to see some more new constructions of they're new building.

Karim Sahraoui, known by releases on labels such as Transmat, Cocoon and ARTS, as well as DJ appearances on Boiler Room and on dancefloors all around the world, makes his debut on OFF Recordings. Book Of Life is a melodic techno track in Karim's signature style. Warm and emotional, albeit with a strong drive for the dancefloor, it can set a strong accent in a set. Italy's DAST created a slamming peaktime techno interpretation, which is sure to create a massive effect on the dancefloor. Syncopated chords and a rolling groove build towards an epic break. "Exodus" is aptly named as a perfect track to close the set by the end of the night. Lush and warm pads and melodies evoke a warm and optimistic atmosphere. Anton Pieete remixed Exodus with a minimalistic and more groove-focused interpretation. Altogether an EP with a timeless feel, spanning the borders between techno, house and electronica.

CVBox & Micha Freier transmitting signals from an ancient underwater metropolis.

Swedish producer Hans Berg returns to Pooledmusic's techno-focused sister imprint Montage with another collection of uniquely esoteric techno. Known for previous work on Kant and collaborations with Johanna Knutsson, Berg debuted on the label in 2015 with the Field EP. His second outing once again provides another showcase for his intriguing rhythmic sensibilities and pleasingly askew take on the classic techno sound palette. The EP is completed by another heads-down burner of a remix from Silvershower, aka label boss Ian Pooley.

The music of Swedish producer Hans Berg often soundtracks sculptural installations produced in collaboration with his partner Nathalie Djurberg.
Working as an artistic duo since 2004, their output comprises animation, public sculpture, immersive environments and now, vinyl recordings taken from these same pieces. Berg brings his experience in house and techno music culture to bear on this cooperative process.
The first track began life as an accompaniment to the outdoor work In Dreams (2016), installed at the Wanås Sculpture Park in Sweden. A naturalistic soundscape of birdsong gives way to a wave of complex, driving synth-pop, itself a shimmering reflection of the riotous, mirrored floor that nestled in the forest glade.

Lost Soul Enterprises presents Technology = Garbage, an album by JL. Recorded to Tascam in 2015 on a variety of cheap and obsolete machines. For fans of swamp acid, cavernous drums, grainy synth washes, and reverb.

Shkedul signed the first EP of his new imprint NORD LTD with a perfect club-only release. Moody, hypnotic and high-powered techno.

Triplepoint Pres. Pres. the 7th release of an experiment called Sauron by one of our best artists Simone De Biasio. Triplepoint Pres. Sauron, a vinyl that contains excellent techno melodies. Simone De Biasio - Sauron is a track thought about leaving the track with an electric dance with its best carried synthesizer that goes straight to your ears to connect your body and soul to dance.

Sign Bit Zero's next output is Black Seed, the alternate identity of Turin-based DJ and producer Matteo Viani. The project is a showcase of his excavations into the realm of electro-tinged techno and live experimentation.
Using the sharp edges of a raw, tribalistic robot funk sound as tools for crafting rhythm, Black Seed generates unsettling yet grooving scenarios, basemental bangers of danger dunked in smoke and hypnosis.

Dark Sky represent progression. The London duo have never settled for a specific sound nor dwelled in a single niche too long. What's striking about all their releases is their passionate love for all kinds of electronic music not exclusively dance floor related. This is no different with Othona, the second album from Dark Sky on Monkeytown Records. Across nine tracks Matt Benyayer and Tom Edwards manage to reinvent themselves once more by merging contemporary techno, classic electronica and their roots in British bass music into a touching and thrilling whole.

With releases on Black Acre, 50WEAPONS, Tectonic and Mister Saturday Night, Dark Sky have numerously proved their versatility. There's the vibrant deep house of In Brackets, the colourful 2step and breakbeat excursions on Black Rainbows and the vocal-laden melancholia of imagin. Othona picks up on the sound of their 2014 debut and tweaks it just in the right spots. Matt and Tom left vocals off altogether and left the intriguing melodies, shapeshifting rhythms and heavy bass do all the dramatic work. This album reveals them as an integral part of the Monkeytown family as well as innovators in their own right.

A large part of Othona is the result of Dark Sky's touring experience. Years of putting together their live sets encouraged them to focus on hardware instruments and samplers, preferring a more hands-on approach to computer screens. The album is also heavily inspired by photos and field recordings they took of isolated structures within different landscapes. One particular location which caught their attention was Bradwell-on-Sea in Essex, which is based on an ancient Roman fort called "Othona". After visiting the site on numerous occasions they discovered a small self-sustaining community of people living right beside the structure, which had its roots in the aftermath of the Second World War. "Its early pioneers created a movement that sought to pursue reconciliation and understanding between people of different faiths, cultures and nationalities', Matt and Tom explain. "This notion of harmony between individuals really inspired us".

The idea of harmony is not only rendered in the artwork by Harry Cresswell, which was based around the location, but can be heard throughout the album. Othona is always challenging and never takes the easy route, but its tracks constantly reveal the purest form of beauty. The title track opens the album and gently introduces its musical range with emotive pads, elaborate beat programming and subtle club signifiers, which steadily develops into the epic midtempo trance of "Domes". The slightly nostalgic synth melodies and cute bleeps of "Badd" bring to mind classic Aphex, which is never a bad thing, while "The Walker" channels ubiquitous melancholy into a standout moment of euphoria. Dark Sky are never short of emotional elements, but they know very well where to put them. Just listen to closing track "Field Tower", giving the kick drum its final overwhelming appearance - no doubt that this is going to be a highlight in their new live set.

Coverti World can really be no other than Danny Wolfers aka Legowelt of course. His first tape for New York Haunted is a stone cold classic with heavy machinery, acidic lines and his typical haunting melodies. There is a melancholic, almost SAW type feel on these tracks, which might be his best work to date. 8 cuts on a 40 minute tape by the master of wavvy techno!

A lot can be said about the stubborn and confrontational ways of prolific Dutch producer Drvg Cvltvre and his New York Haunted label, but one can never accuse him of taking the easy way out. Musically, his output of experimental electronics has swayed between heavy industrial techno and noise, composed music and slow, doomy and experimental house. On this new, full lenght album 'Nobody Cares Forever' he blends all of the above. From the orchestral hit, rave fueled opener to the melancholic synths of closing track 'All Of My Heroes' and everything in between is pure experimentation and decomposing of standard house, rave and techno elements. Now, here, in this #TrumpAge, you can feel his resistance to authority and the readiness to confront in every inch and fiber of this album...

For the second time in as many releases, we at Second State are proud to deliver a brand new artist to the label. This time it's the Techno savvy Michael Klein from Berlin and with his Drawing EP, he delivers three stellar tracks cut from a master's palette.
Starting off with the title track 'Drawing', Michael takes us on a journey deep into the celestial spaces between lush dub and four-to-the-floor mayhem. Littered with
massive stabs of solar bursts, 'Drawing' is a thrill ride at a neck break pace perfect for lifting the whole place off the foundation.
Following the opening track is 'Illusive Space' and the name says it all. Like a jet engine, the drums do all the work, propelling the ship into hyper speed while just a couple massive blasts of a synth act as shifts into a higher gear with no slowing down in sight. With the final cut 'Pattern Movement', Michael enlists the help of Genevieve Marentette to pull off a colossal grinder of throbbing percussives. Interweaving

Deeply Rooted House welcomes french techno veteran Zadig! He recently has been dropping some heat on his own label Construct Re-form, and he is back on our favorite French label DRH with three killer tracks! The raw and energetic TTRXL, the more subtle and grooving techno monster with its haunting sounds called The Grip. And the mysterious case of Harry lime with it's own pulsating dark energy in a classic early minimal techno as we know from Axis and M-plant! Another essential Deeply Rooted House 12"!!

_Unsubscribe_ is the production project started by Dave Clarke and Mr. Jones. The pair met through Clarke's White Noise radio show in 2011 but it wasn't until a couple of years later that they began working together. They have since gone on to do remixes for Black Asteroid, Detroit Grand Pubahs, Louisahhhh, Octave One, Erol Alkan and labels such as The Public Stand. Their debut single 'Spek Hondje' came out on Houndstooth Records in 2013. This time, _Unsubscribe_ join the Boysnoize Records family
with a pounding five track EP due out in April. Made up of three unrelenting original productions and two remixes courtesy of Housemeister and Jensen Interceptor, 'Penultimate' is a confident reminder of Clarkes and Mr. Jones fierce style and abilities.

Daywalker & CF follow-up 2015's Shimmer and Supersonic Transport with more cosmic synth noodling and a club ready tune on BANK Records. Entro Senestre and Willie Burns always manage to hold together musical continuity while aimlessly jamming in Burns' smoky studio. It is their forte. With that being said, their style is not genre specific. One thing is for sure, the music is going to be trippy and synth driven. The title track Wave Force is a driving dance track built for big rooms, reminiscent of Supersonic Transport. The B-side features the producers implementing freaky synth lines and spacey sound effects on Rhythm Wolf. The final track, Between Worlds is somber. Daze's track "Compton" (LT012) was one of the best things of 2015.

"Slums of Grand Central" is built from those same guts, transposed in a more wistful direction. This is an ideal mood cue soundtrack for high school cafeteria outcasts.

On the B side , Torn Hawk builds a typically melodic lace-space out of shreds of the original track. Then a scumbag named Decor runs "Slums of Grand Central" through a rented chipper/shredder for a fun and sludgy defacement . He returns the shredder to Home Depot, destroyed, held together with artisanal twine and duct tape.

Raw minimal techno specialist Mono Junk is back with a selection of new material on his own DUM Records. Having pioneered key techno sounds as far back as 1990, more than 20 years later the influential Finnish artist is still on top of his game.
Up first is Halo, nine minutes of edgy techno with a nervy lead synth snaking around in paranoid fashion. Rolling drums set a direct groove in motion below and the whole thing will be brilliantly hypnotic on the dance floor. Halo 2 is a hallucinogenic bit of ambient with celestial drones and icy synth prickles making for a tense interlude, then Musta Peili is all fucked up and scuzzy, study and disrupted. Sounding like a slowed-down techno track heard though a freezing snow blizzard, it is masterfully textured. Farewell closes out the EP with an intergalactic bit of glassy melodic techno that will have you up on your toes.

Italian Roberto Clementi has really struck a chord in the hearts of Northerners, with releases on Scottish Soma, Danish Echocord Colour and Swedish Kontra-Musik. Perhaps it's his ability to create evolving and often emotional melodic landscapes over raw, punchy beats that's especially appreciated north of The Wall. This is very much true for True Rotary Recordings, in any case, bringing Roberto Clementi in for the label's second release. 'To Balance a Tide' is perfectly set in the True Rotary Recordings universe, combining analogue warmth with genuine musicality. There's no question Roberto Clementi has soul and has willingly poured some of it into this release, the music has a considerable thickness to it that's very pleasing to the ear, yet it's still exceptionally artful. Clementi's soul seems to be an ancient one, given the timelessness of his tracks - old SVEK releases come to mind but with an added futuristic twist. This is music for dancing and music for dreaming, all in one package.
True Rotary Recordings is run by Joel Alter and Ena Cosovic. 9 years on from their inaugural release from back in December 2004, Saved Records have now reached their landmark 100th release. Ever since SAVED001, Skylark presents Buick Project - "Chancer / Drop The Beat" Saved have stood as a benchmark for quality whilst nurturing new talent and pushing the envelope for electronic music as a whole. Celebrating the achievement in style, the Maidstone based imprint will be bringing together a mind-blowing collection of the label's favourite producers and DJ's, covering all aspects of the musical spectrum; from deep house to peak-time techno and will be available on limited vinyl samplers.

Saved 100 will feature original material from label bosses Nic and Mark Fanciulli alongside Saved mainstays Robert Dietz, Philip Bader, Stacey Pullen, Gary Beck and Alex Tepper. Mouth-watering remixers include Danny Daze, Frankie Knuckles, Joris Voorn and Adam Beyer with the likes of Subb-an, Spencer Parker, Terrence Parker and Mark Broom all also set to feature in a compilation that displays both the depth and dexterity of Saved Record's impressive back catalogue. The compilation will also come with an exclusive mix from Mark Fanciulli, serving up a label perspective from right within the eye of the Saved nucleus.

The Saved 100 tour began at Output in New York on January 3rd before heading off to Mexico for a stellar Saved showcase at this year's BPM festival. Continuing until April, it will then encompass shows in Tel Aviv, Dublin, Montpellier, Munich, Basel, Barcelona, Chicago, Miami, Detroit, Antwerp, Copenhagen, Toronto and many more.

Kobosil, Norman Nodge and Marcel Dettmann offer new versions of Terence Fixmer's 2003 'Aktion Mekanik Theme' on Ostgut Ton. It's safe to say that Terence Fixmer's track 'Aktion Mekanik Theme' (Music Man Records, 2003) was as much a landmark release for Techno as the whole Aktion Mekanik compilation was for EBM as a genre. 'As an artist who's been pushing EBM sounds into the modernity of Techno it was a logical step to do the compilation back then,' Terence says. 'I wanted to show my influences as a Techno artist, as Detroit sounds weren't my roots at all, but classics by Front 242, Fad Gadget, Nitzer Ebb, Crash Course In Science or Snowy Red.

UNKNOT is the duo consisting of producer/dj Sciahri and composer/audiohead Emanuele Porcinai. UNKNOT01 is the first release on the duo's self-titled label. The music is derived from recordings of jam sessions taken on a semi-modular set-up and later contextualized, through arrangement, within a dancefloor-oriented framework.

The core of UNKNOT's sound is strictly bound both to Sciahri's solid techno background and to the mutable character of Emanuele's electroacoustic productions. The dialogue between such distant practices and approaches, brought to an extremely restrained setup, is what defines UNKNOT's musical identity.

UNKNOT01 is a stark, angular swarm of sounds, shaped within very structured yet experimental arrangements. Each track delivers propulsive, cryptic and poignant melodies disguised in the harsh and outright aggressive rhythmical patterns.

Rob Booth's preternatural ability to cherry-pick the finest emerging talent in electronic music (see: Mount Kimbie, James Blake, Akkord) continues with EE:V:003 - a brutal pair-up of two of the UK's most promising techno fiends under the menacing-sounding guise Habits of Hate.

Heroic young gun Happa and already-prolific producer Manni Dee are both quickly rising through the ranks of the UK techno scene with releases on labels like Boomkat Editions, Bleep's Green Series, Perc Trax and Black Sun Records shared between them. Born out of swapping tunes and discovering a shared spirit of pushing dancefloors to previously uncharted limits, "Limelight Roles" takes a rigid, stomping pattern to its absolute breaking point and refuses to let up, calling to mind Regis' most unrelenting tracks, whereas "A Rebel From the Waist Down" blends equal parts sub-crushing bass with corrosive mid-range textures. These two slabs of brutalist techno just might be both artists' most gleefully punishing work to date, falling in line nicely with the recent output of other unhinged vanguards like Shifted, Perc and Untold.

Happa is Leeds-dwelling 16 year old Samir Alikhanizadeh whose early productions gained fervent support from luminaries like Zed Bias, Skream and Mary Anne Hobbs, quickly solidifying him as a bonafide prodigy and one to watch. His future looks just as exceptionally bright as his music is exceptionally dark.


Manni Dee is a futurist of sorts - an impeccable, razor-sharp tech genius and restlessly inventive producer who's unafraid to tinker with the boundaries of sound and music, expertly walking the line between solid and abstract, carefully constructed and organic. Based in Brighton, he's already released on some of the top underground dance labels and earned enthusiastic praise from peers and critics alike, from Blawan to Surgeon to Giles Peterson and more.

A mainstay in the underground house music scene for almost twenty years, Joeski makes his next move on the mighty Crosstown Rebels with a sublime 'Tribute EP' to the great divinity Obatalá.
The EP journeys through three tracks, where ethereal layers are used to infiltrate the dancefloor and varying tribal percussions, native chants and vocal haunts flow effortlessly throughout. From Yoruba religion, Obatalá is an Orisha, Sky Father and creator of human bodies. Joeski explains "I've been wanting to do this tribute for a while now. It's a creative musical offering to Obatalá. I feel like Crosstown is the perfect home for it too."
Joeski's roots are in the underground house scene of NYC in the 90s, where he played regularly at historical clubs such as The Limelight, Tunnel, Palladium and Roxy. Later establishing himself as a producer he began releasing music on NRK, Siesta, Shaboom, Tango, Junior Boys Own and many more. He also runs his successful label, Maya Records.

Italian bred artists Uakoz & Alex Lentini deliver their debut OFF EP, after earning much praise for their recent outings on Terminal M, Flash and other labels.

A love for spacy techno is the common element of all 4 originals. While Isolated & Puzzling rely more on psychedelic sinewave melodies, Nothing More & Changeless feel closer to dub techno.

OFF-head Andre Crom created a very functional remix, reinterpreting parts of "Puzzling"'s notes with a bass synth, and a hypnotic arrange that works steadily towards a central break.

KILLEKILL MEGAHITS II is a jubilee release. But it's not only that. It's also milestone and turning point in the Killekill history, because with this release Killekill closes one chapter, and opens up another. We will start several new labels over the next months, so this is a hello and a goodbye release - looking back and forward at the same time.
The full compilation got a lot of coverage and the tour was very successful, and so we will release the records as single releases as well.

Part 2 is Chicago-inspired and is jacking like a rabbit.

Lessismore record label, founded in 2003 by the Dutch DJ and producer Alexis Tyrel together with MBC, has been home for mostly his own releases under all his monikers and 'various artist' compilations. 'Return To Planet Alpha' continues in this tradition, being a second long-player of Alexis Tyrel after his debut 'Newtradition' from 2011.

Return To Planet Alpha is a collection of elegant techno tracks which instead of following the now so popular dark and destructive path focuses on daily moods and airy atmosphere, which is closer to open air and lounge than to sweaty pits of contemporary rave. But that doesn't mean that the twelve tracks are just indistinctive background music. For one thing, Tyrel is a master of slick and tight beat foundations of kick drums and bass, often smoothed out with cool synth pads, onto which he layers all kinds of rhythmical chains, subtle melodic ideas and sounds ranging from vintage synths and industrial bits to organic textures and even field recordings.

Another distinctive feature of Alexis Tyrel is diversity and playfulness. The sound environment of the LP, which is obvious from the album and track titles, inclines to a space theme, mainly thanks to the synthesizers recalling the 1980s. But instead of just recreating that sound, Alexis Tyrel uses the associative effect of the vintage synths and puts them in his own contemporary context.

Many tracks also have a physical vibe of playing live, real time manipulation and improvisation, like Concurnation or Homeboy. The opening track Plant DeltaGema Process and Orbiting Planet Alpha are synth showers of all colors, shapes and rhythms, from acid prods to shimmering nebulas. For All You Flonkers is a cheeky and spry tune with a blithe motive hopping above an energic beat. Its remix is based on a distorted synth and a perfectly smooth groove as a base, which lets turbulences of synths and bubbling water recordings seep through it. Potential of the Lonely Star is a sweet, sparkling gem working with string instruments, from violin to harp. The closing track Nothing In Between is the most minimalistic piece of the album, revealing various synth sounds one by one, as if they would be saying goodbye in the end of a jazz concert.

Return To Planet Alpha is a magician's hat for a DJ, from which you can always pick the right tune in various moments and locations. Both on Earth and in a space bar.

Daniele Di Martino now comes back with an EP that is made for long and dark nights in the small clubs. Therefore, Di Martino goes back to his roots by creating straight deep house combined with a pushing bassline, as he does in the original version of Faust - providing a result that is perfect to be played somewhere in the deepness of the night when there is no time for hesitation. The second track Different comes a bit more melodic, includes vocal snippets and leaves space to breathe und feel - while the bass is as dark, it could dig an aisle in the middle of the dancefloor.

Daniele Di Martino's two tracks are reduced to the minimum - thus, they present a little less of the easiness and playfulness of his former releases - however, this is no chance but the producer's way of expressing his development as an artist.

The third track leaves a completely different impression as it is made by techno-legend Thomas Schumacher who gave Faust his personal interpretation. Since Schumacher is an expert in creating clear and straight-into-your-face techno sounds the result comes harder and even straighter than the original. It crowns the EP by leaving no space for thinking or dreaming and reflects the intention of the whole trilogy.

Meandyou returns with the sixth instalment of the collective's record label, this time presenting 'Geometry of Disorder', a solo EP by Ezsaid - co-founder of Paris based label Collapsing Market.

The follow up to his "LIFE ON TITAN EP" now repressed on limited colored wax as part of MATHEMATICS 20th anniversary reissue campaign! 4 tracks with the title track and "FORGOTTEN LIGHTS" on the A side and "WHAT ONCE WAS" and "AHEAD OF TIME" rounding out this EP of classic house and techno vibes.

Fly Rocket Ships EP unites Berlin based Alland Byallo's breakbeats and Swedish Fjader's cosmic techno for a unique EP that takes you deep into space.

Jann arrives on Pinkman with a soundtrack of breathless panic, an ode to a blighted world of diesel fumes and indifference. Rhythms are grizzly, gored and torn. Thick chords judder, revving like a clapped-out engine as metal slashes at savaged snares. Acid scorn is poured on this inhospitable world, amplified by the haze of distortion that clouds Jann's hard and cold vision

Following on from his release on Beneath's Mistry imprint, Webstarr inaugurates his De Grey label with a three-track collection of bass-flecked techno.Opener 'We Can't Have Nice Things' evokes Punch Drunk and the Bristol sound as skittering beats deliver a two-step-like rhythm, propelled along by a synth melody that teases a potent breakdown. Meanwhile 'Warsaw' bumps along with a brooding bassline that gives way to multi-layered percussion direct from an Eastern Bloc steel mill.
Closing track 'Exit' changes gear to play to the floor as a piercing kick and clap drum pattern combines with the subtlest of sub-bass and sharp synths that probe behind your eyes to lift the track effortlessly in a 2016 nod to Detroit.

Following on from son.sine and Sven Weisemann on Delsin's deep and house leaning series of releases is Artefakt with a new three track affair entitled The Fifth Planet EP. The Dutch duo has been making music for the mind on labels like Field and Prologue for a few years, and are experts at conjuring up atmospheric grooves that seduce your soul. Opener 'Transit' is a thick, heavy and heady track with rubbery kicks tunnelling deep. Above it, smeared, sombre synths gets stretched and skewed into trippy forms and the whole thing has you as a slave to the groove. 'From Our Minds To Yours' is quicker and more overkill, but is again rooted in rolling rubbery kicks. Hypnotic once again, the synths here are lighter, more airy and more uplifting and induce trance like states of mind. Lastly, 'The Fifth Planet' steps it up another gear, with celestial melodic patterns, heavy synth daubs and spine tingling pads all expanding around a ticking techno groove. This is expertly crafted, serene and supple stuff that will sound perfect in the dead of night on some intimate and spaced out dancefloor.

Channel#9 collects five tracks of free flowing techno from Italy's Ascion. A talent who has graced labels like 3TH and Repitch, this EP balances floor fervour with subtle warm washes and colder echoes. The lulling wonders of "Anhatolia" hark back to a time of dreamlike ambience, that calm turning frosty in the early morning light of "Illusorium." Those arctic currents become knifelike in the jagged thump and bitter acid barbs of "Doubledpang" But the rasp never turns too venomous. "Fraxtile" and "Cybbar" are from a similarly murky place, reducing some of the throbbing pound to allow melting melodies to shift and swirl. Spirited and soulful with just a hint of serpentine. Limited to 250 coloured copies in a printed sleeve with a photo by the Dutch Photographer Awoiska van der Molen.

Bambi is back and as effective as ever!
50WEAPONS proudly presents two stripped back club tracks by Bambounou, our main man for dancefloor euphoria. Watch him drop both of the tracks in his Boiler Room set in Paris in September 2013 and you'll understand what we mean. YouTube commenters have since been all over these tracks.

'Feel Like This' is built around a hypnotizing vocal sample with hi hats sharp enough to cut a hole right through your braincells to activate your dance-nerves. Leaving your synapses to the mercy of the pounding kick drum which is fat enough to get everyone in the room moving.

'Onto This' sees Bambounou unleash his talents in a very NY-esque way, with those sharp skippy hats that are definitely drawing on UK garage and one of the grooviest organs we've heard since "Kaoz on King Street". Both tracks will definitely reap lots of support, from Panorama Bar to the beaches of Croatia and back to Paris.

One half of Laszlo Dancehall with Leon Vynehall, Christian Piers returns to Dusky's 17 Steps with three tracks of machine driven music aimed at the dancefloor.
Leading with the heavyweight techno of 'Detachment', the package also includes the dark mechanical rhythms of 'Expanse' and drum workout 'Strain', as well as Trevino's stripped back dub techno interpretation of 'Detachment'.

Dark Sky represent progression. The London duo have never settled for a specific sound nor dwelled in a single niche too long. What's striking about all their releases is their passionate love for all kinds of electronic music not exclusively dance floor related. This is no different with Othona, the second album from Dark Sky on Monkeytown Records. Across nine tracks Matt Benyayer and Tom Edwards manage to reinvent themselves once more by merging contemporary techno, classic electronica and their roots in British bass music into a touching and thrilling whole.

With releases on Black Acre, 50WEAPONS, Tectonic and Mister Saturday Night, Dark Sky have numerously proved their versatility. There's the vibrant deep house of In Brackets, the colourful 2step and breakbeat excursions on Black Rainbows and the vocal-laden melancholia of imagin. Othona picks up on the sound of their 2014 debut and tweaks it just in the right spots. Matt and Tom left vocals off altogether and left the intriguing melodies, shapeshifting rhythms and heavy bass do all the dramatic work. This album reveals them as an integral part of the Monkeytown family as well as innovators in their own right.

A large part of Othona is the result of Dark Sky's touring experience. Years of putting together their live sets encouraged them to focus on hardware instruments and samplers, preferring a more hands-on approach to computer screens. The album is also heavily inspired by photos and field recordings they took of isolated structures within different landscapes. One particular location which caught their attention was Bradwell-on-Sea in Essex, which is based on an ancient Roman fort called "Othona". After visiting the site on numerous occasions they discovered a small self-sustaining community of people living right beside the structure, which had its roots in the aftermath of the Second World War. "Its early pioneers created a movement that sought to pursue reconciliation and understanding between people of different faiths, cultures and nationalities', Matt and Tom explain. "This notion of harmony between individuals really inspired us".

The idea of harmony is not only rendered in the artwork by Harry Cresswell, which was based around the location, but can be heard throughout the album. Othona is always challenging and never takes the easy route, but its tracks constantly reveal the purest form of beauty. The title track opens the album and gently introduces its musical range with emotive pads, elaborate beat programming and subtle club signifiers, which steadily develops into the epic midtempo trance of "Domes". The slightly nostalgic synth melodies and cute bleeps of "Badd" bring to mind classic Aphex, which is never a bad thing, while "The Walker" channels ubiquitous melancholy into a standout moment of euphoria. Dark Sky are never short of emotional elements, but they know very well where to put them. Just listen to closing track "Field Tower", giving the kick drum its final overwhelming appearance - no doubt that this is going to be a highlight in their new live set.

Canadian Paolo Rocco kickstarts the New Year with his Judgement EP on Hot Creations. The first release of 2017 is an international affair, with Manchester born Trevino and one of the most spoken names of last year, Greece native Detlef on remix duties.
Initially making a name for himself through his DJing skills back home in Montreal, Paolo's productions entered the market in 2012 with instant international support. His releases on Real Tone, One Records, Saved and others were all met with high acclaims as were the compilations he mixed for Defected and Get Physical. The creation of, 'Judgement' and 'That's It' prove Paolo truly understands what works on the dance floor.
2016 saw Detlef reach new heights whilst also debuting on Hot Creations with his 'Kinky Tail' EP. He returns to the label with a devastating edit of 'Judgement' and his rolling signature sound.
Trevino aka Marcus Intalex ramps up the EP with his remix, centred around shimmering high hats and a freaky groove. A champion of how a DJ can achieve success in two different genres, Trevino has released on several of the most praised drum & bass and techno labels for a number of years.

A new ExoPlanets release is coming out from the 30drop shuttle. Univac, a side project of Geistform's mastermind Rafa M. Espinosa, presents Unknown Radio', an electrocharged bomb EP. Starting with Detroitian electro- heritage, Univac, push up the style into a rhythmical, elegant and contemporaneous status. Four original tracks and a remix by the legendary Der Zyklus (Drexciya, Dopplereffekt, Arpanet,...). Unknown Radio', the homonymous track, opens up the work backward- looking to the techno dancefloor. Lunik' purpose a cold and explicit electro discourse, well understood and remanufactured by the hands of Der Zyklus. Null' is an electrical discharge and, finally, an energy-boost called Zender' closes the work. Unquestionable job.

Informationstechno was released on cassette in 2014 via Zeon light and it was nominated for best Swedish dance album of the year at Manifestgalan 2015. During 2015 the band received attention from Swedish radio P2 and P3 and performed a series of gigs at home in Stockholm.

Motormännen make information techno infused with an air of Swedish nostalgia through a filter of retro-futuristic skepticism. The music is packed with minimal acid loops and samples with excerpts from Swedish politicians, documentaries and Christer Glenning, reflecting on times when the cold war and the traditional welfare state were dissolving. Inhibitions were relaxed and new, foreign influences crept into the body of society and the old information monopolies. Motormännen's tracks are visually enhanced by messages from pictures and videos from the 1970's and 80's.

Stepping up next for EarToGround you have arguably one of the best Techno producers from Ireland.

Tracks included cover the full spectrum of Myler's dynamic range, via an excellent display of Techno. Visually Myler sent himself out and took some photos of the industrial estate he used to work at, of which can be seen in the cover artwork with our own EarToGround angle included.

Over the course of the past five years, Amsterdam based label Indigo Aera has evolved in to one of the most trustworthy and respected contemporary Detroit techno labels around.

Apart from new music that's mostly analog based and highly energetic, head honchos Maarten Mittendorff en Jasper Wolff decent to the vaults of early day, soul-searching techno regularly, digging up forgotten gems to re-issue them with modern quality standards. Esteemed artists like Stephen Brown, Skudge, Steve Rachmad, Antigone, Louis Haiman and Kirk DeGiorgio all contributed to Indigo Aera, and there's more to come.

The Lost Archives Special consists of unreleased tracks from absolute legends, to music that has never been released in a physical form before, to fresh compositions of techno's most talented contemporary artists.

The first long-awaited release of Champ Libre Records compiles the tracks of the label's three pioneering artists. Since 2015, Spun Off, 3-pi, and Size Pier heave been heavily shaping the eclectic character of the most daring parisian dancefloor. Their work reflects the crew's transgressive approaches to techno. Mr. Al Ferox delivers another dead-or-alive remix for the Welt In Scherben track So Schoen War Die Zeit and adds his trademark rough and ruthless remix work !
Another big Welt In Scherben track simply called II-1 gets a makeover by Abstract labelboss Sven Schaller, who with no doubt delivered another floor filler with his nice building and powerful excursion !

Panel Trax has grown international due to the producers and the trax being played abroad. The label is releasing trax in the spectrum of techno, acid, minimal, detroit, ambient and dub.
It is into oldschool a new things as well but doesn't want to follow the actual trends. It just has a focus on atmosphere and sounding.

The fourth release on Bjarki and Johnny Chrome Silver's bbbbbb Records, comes hot on the heels of the first. Two and three are limited run, vinyl only, hand stamped releases to be sought out from your local dealer.
Bjarki returns as Cucumb45 with the 5-track EP 'Something Weirdcore'. On the surface there are elements of jungle, breakbeat, techno and rave, but to say this spans genres would be an understatement - it defies them.
The title track instantly commands attention with breaks samples offset against indecipherable robotic groans and melancholic chords, but a sudden change of drum pattern shows this is more than a reprieve of known territory - it's a voyage away from the limits of tempo and genre.
This theme is explored throughout the EP by way of unnerving stripped back techno (Akureyri), electro with subtle inflections of dancehall (Comatack) and even a big beat/dub influenced jam (Music for Advertising). As Cucumb45 plays with genres as we know them, so he does with the emotional resonance of the release. Frequently switching from euphoric to anxious, each track is a testament to his incredible attention to detail. Simply put, this is music for those who hate to be labelled.

DREF033 sees the return of two long time label friends and contributors, the Scottish Deepbass and the Italian Ness. Despite the fact that both of them are prolific enough solo acts as it is, once in a while they combine forces and deliver a co-produced masterpiece, to which the Outer Limits EP is no exception.

However, make no mistake: the fact they have found their signature sound, does not mean they aren't constantly reinventing themselves. For this occasion, the two have made sporadical use of euphorical synth sounds, even gently alluding to trance at some point. Apart from that, they have adequately built their ever-evolving soundscapes upon subtly processed percussion.

A welcome addition to the two original tracks presents itself in the form of the talented producer Shlomo. The Frenchman has given his version of Outer Limits a powerful breakbeat foundation, making this EP into more of what it already was: a match made in heaven.

While the saying goes that writing about music is like dancing about architecture, this seems to be rather unfitting when it comes to artistic works like ELECTRIC INDIGO's release for the next installment on SCR-DARK SERIES, the techno-leaning sub-label of Berlin's SUICIDE CIRCUS club enterprise of over 20 years of existence.
Depending from which angle you look at it, her forthcoming record is either a legit piece of artistic expression well worthy of being written about, due to her incorporation of digital bits, pieces and sound bites, ranging from fragments of granular sound synthesis to chopped-up voice recordings or spectral processings - while at the same time, it's simply two beautiful pieces of reduced, smart and abstract club music to listen and dance to, each accompanied by a hefty remix from a couple of hand-picked fellows in the likes of Bill Youngman and Dadub. Berlin's notorious techno stalwart BILL YOUNGMAN contributes a distinct interpretation with his slightly broken peak-time banger of a take on 'Cinq', wilst DADUB, the duo made up of two of the core artists (and mastering wizards) of the well-renowned Stroboscopic Artefacts-imprint, reconstruct the original 'Zero' to a fiercely pumping, blacker-than-black monster.
Yes, we are indeed very excited about this release, obviously, and we're really looking forward to seeing it hit the stores soon, as it turned out to be a rare case of heartfelt cooperation between like-minded souls and, first and foremost, friends, who engaged in a DIY effort to then have it culminate in an adventurous record - a kind of approach that, as another saying goes, was once referred to as True Spirit.
