Techno News
For the fifth installment in the Common Thread series we're launching our series of Various Artists EP's called ''Knives Replace Air''. For the first effort in this series we have the likes of Chinaski, MangulicaFM, 33.10.3402 and Gitchell Moore cooking up stuff.
Expect an odd mixture of genres all sharing a common thread in terms of feel. Maybe not the most dancefloor friendly record but definitely some kind of miniature soundtrack in it's own right.
Hot on the heels of Luke Vibert's 'Halloween' (Part
One),Hypercolour present more acidic business from one of Cornwall's finest bleeps exponent, backed with two very solid remixes from Tom Demac and FaltyDL. More new and exclusive material from Vibert then, on the A side cut, 'iStrain'. Deadly mechanical funk of the highest order, the Eastern melodic flavors float over a bending and bouncing 303 bassline, serving up a heady concoction of analogue goodness, proving that Vibert's still got 'it' in plenty of abundance. Hypercolour regular, Tom Demac, revisits 'Halloween', the dark, Pagan stomping acid tormentor from Part One. Going in straight for the ugular, Demac offers up a heavyweight battering ram of a remix, certainly not for the faint-hearted, as the crushed beats slap and pound against the lysergic moulations and the demented vocalphrases. Coming up for air, Brooklyn's FaltyDL comes to Hypercolour fresh from an outstanding album on Ninja Tune and singles on Swamp81 and Hemlock, with a stunning breaks version of 'Stabs Of Regret' (a track featured on Vibert's Ridmik album for Hypercolour last year). Hustling and frenzied breakbeats challenge for pole position with deep and dreamy chords and light synth melodies, the complex and compelling arrangement keeping things continually fresh in the mix. Vibert's funk is not lost either, with FaltyDL ensuring that this remix stays bang on point and funkier than a pair of Rick James' leather strides.

Wout Records is finally delighted to present the first release on vinyl of series LTD.
The Debut in the first 12" sees Dinkis and Paul Cart with The Silence Of Dark People "three originals written by Gabriele Mineo in collaboration with his friend Paul Cart, and for closing this wax release a fantastic remix by Impellizzeri & Stupia.
A work that embraces melodies and emotions at the same time, with the idea of creating something modern and original to convey these emotions in your hearts.
When silence will fall on these dark people, the air will make a lot of noise ... and their will have to keep quiet. (The Silence Of Dark People)
The illusion of escape from the feeling of a body off, rebelling for his soul, wiping out the darkest figures. (The Illusion Of Phantom Rebel)
And just by eliminating those hidden phobias, it will find the solution for a future light . (Phobia)

For their fourth transmission, Happy Skull presents a trio of dystopian fantasies from analogue maverick Marco Bernardi. Opener 'Floating' is a throbbing trip in to rattling techno territory complete with discordant chords and bubbling acid lines. 'Broken Boiler' offers a trademark Bernardi fusion of sweet, visceral melodies and raw machine drums. Rounding things off is 'upside In', a fearlessly wonky voyage in to freaky techno-funk.

Rhythmic Theory makes his debut for Happy Skull with two of his darkest, otherworldly productions yet.
"Decadance of Delay" is an unflinching sprint into techno-jack territory, all distorted machine rhythms, hallucinatory whispered vocals and hypnotic electronics.
"Endocrine Creeatures" is a dystopian blast of 808 electro built around titanium-clad kicks, snappy snares and rippling acid lines.

Usurp is an anonymous collective of European artists joining into a unique platform in order to spread their similar musical vision, including IDM and Industrial sonorous experiments, without the need of labeling it, in favour of letting the music do the talking, almost as a protest against the common club culture paradigms. Every release is based on empires' histories, and some of the turning points in their existences. After the first record released back in May 2016, inspired by the Roman Empire - its titles took inspiration from The Life of Brian, since USURP artists love Monty Python since their adolescence - its second installment 'Reconquista' is about the Moors, Islamic inhabitants of Maghreb, Spain, Italy and Malta in Medieval times. 'Taifa' opens up with break beat percussions, locked and acidic patterns and melodically ever rising, mind-blowing textures: the track represents the Muslim cities remained such after the collapse of the caliphate of Cordoba, linking to the uncertainty of the future as happened for those towns. 'Covadonga' follows featuring ravey, sinister atmospheres and is considered to be the starting point of the reconquista, where Don Pelayo took the 'oath of Covadonga' when he swore to fight and win over the Moors. 'Poitiers' is again a break beat cut, it displays enchanting but always hitting rhythms interacting with structurally irregular, restless musical elements: the French city was the
furthest place up north the Moors actually went, stopped there by Charles Martel and his army - it took up until the 15th century before the were thrown off the continent. Your reign is over. Your virtue has become your pitfall. We are here to take over. We do not negotiate. Surrender mind and body. You will comply.'

Here comes the next must-have-vinyl for the new clubbing season! PRAXXIZ collects 4 strong remixes of Dr. Motte meets Gabriel Le Mar's last 'Fever EP' (PRZ018) on an sensational new bundle: 'Fever EP Remixed'
Japans Techno legend Ken Ishii transformed the originally deep character of 'Zikade' into an ultimate floorfiller with solid sounds and delicate accents. Also the German Eric Sneo skillfully re-worked this track and left his unique mark on it.
Pascal Feos raised the temperature of 'Fever' with deep Techno grooves plus Chicago and Detroit sounds. PRAXXIZ contest winner DJ Sur from Houston Texas pushed the envelope and created a funky-fresh version with some experimental elements.
Summing it up: this will blow you away!

recordings (mtd.001), with very positive feedback by many dj's, the

harmonics - are listening music and dance floor compatible, too. Plus 3
"locked grooves" we have 6 tracks on this vinyl. This record comes in a

The Clone Basement series dedicated to the true spirit of techno and music that excels in a dark smokey and isolated basement (including the dark and smokey corners of your brain) comes up with its first album release. This album explores the spiritual side of techno with a full length album by Finnish artist Aleksi Perala constructed from parts of the various Colundi Sequence levels presented so far. This is a limited triple album containing the spirit of the Colundi Sequence and showcasing the multiplicity of emotions and conditions as defined through the Colundi Scales. These scales are 128 resonant frequencies chosen via experimentation and philosophy, each relating to a specific human bio-resonance, or psychology, traditional mysticism or belief, physics, astronomy, maths, chemistry. ''The Colundi Sequence does you good whether you like it or not''

Big Bad Donato Dozzy steams in on Bunker again with 2 more absolute beasts..TIP! It's difficult to imagine The Bunker New York without Donato Dozzy. The roster of artists who have played the party over the past decade-plus reads like a proper Who's Who of modern techno and house, but if there's one artist in particular whose sound and vision has had an outsize impact on The Bunker, both as a party and as a record label, it would be Donato Dozzy.

Perception of time is a variable that transcends any state known to us (or presumed). Dragged by a force majeure, the Dionysian spirit is a life force and chaos of becoming. The Apollonian spirit is fleeing from the unpredictability of events. The eternal return is a trap which is subjected to static human destiny.

P.D.D are proud to introduce Yoshitoshi to our ever expanding label roster....
First up on on wax is the boss man Sharam's intoxicating cut HEAVi.....
I was at Warung back in 2012 discussing music with Seth Troxler. We both realized that a key factor for a good producer/DJ is to make and play interesting music, void of any arbitrary genre or labeling.
Long story short, i sent him this thing i had been sitting on called Tripi and he went on to champion that record for a good year and finally released it on his label as the inaugural release.
I was inspired by how that record resonated with a lot of Djs from all across the musical gamut. So i made a follow up of sorts and here you have it. - Sharam

Succeeding his profound and forward-thinking album 'Depth Charged' which was revealed last February, Terence Fixmer returns with 'Depth Charged Remixed' featuring Ostgut Ton's Answer Code Request and UK's underground techno hero Steve Bicknell. 'Elevation', originally the final track of the album, emotional and reflective, is kicked up a notch by ACR's Patrick Gräser by adding ponderous drum patterns making it perfect for the floor. Conversely, Steve Bicknell takes on 'Unforeseen'. With it's fast paced rolling bass it is now put into top gear shivering with feverish reverberations. To compliment each variation, included on the EP are Fixmer's own live versions that have energetically filled dance floors throughout his tour.

Rødhåd is one of the city's most promising and talked about new artists of the last year. With only 2 EP's on Dystopian (the label he helms with friends) & 1 remix on Semantica, that's quite an achievement.
'Spomeniks EP' is his first release outside of Dystopian but preserves his deep & melancholic yet powerful style.
Apart from a rising producer & prolific dj, Rødhåd is a very down to earth guy with a strong vision and an open mind.
Definitely a match with anything Token stands for.

After their last release under the labels Ornate Music (UK) and Finale Sessions (US), Ka One & St-Sene are back with a special Flyance Records release. REWORK: the action of redoing, correcting or rebuilding"; that is the spirit they put in this Ep with those four House music anthems of those consider today as the father figures of this music. Without sampling, replaying all the keyboards and arpeggio, they turned thoses anthems into modern acid and techno vibe. From 1989 to 2015 Ka One & St-Sene give great tribute at Lil Louis, Mr Fingers, Kerri Chandler and Laurent Garnier.

The Argentinian based NGLY had seemingly appeared out of thin air landing on the Brooklyn based L.I.E.S. label in 2014 with an untitled four track white label ep. On this ep, the unsuspecting track "Speechless Tape" ended up becoming a cult hit with select djs in the scene (I-F, Mick Wills, Intergalactic Gary...) eventually leading to it being voted as Intergalactic FM's #1 track of the year in 2014. On the heels of his successful debut Rudolfo could have stayed the path and produced an easily digestable follow up dance record or two, instead he chose to take his time and reflect. Sitting back in the studio tweaking his live act, recording endlessly, transforming and refining his sound.
In the end we get his debut eight track lp, Cities of Illusion, a record that walks a fine line between many of the original strains of the electronic realm. The elements are all there to be picked apart, to be used, to be abused, thrown against the wall smashed to bits...played in the club or on the late night mix shows, it's magic you heard in the past and crave in the present. To say the music on the lp is one thing or another is an injustice...it pays reverence while at the same time turns a corner; held together by a loose yet cohesive thread. It is a full presentation that is unafraid to challenge or confuse, with no concern for genre imposed limitations.

Coinciding with the one hundredth anniversary of one of the most surprising works by contemporary icon Franz Kafka, The Metamorphosis (1915), Reeko celebrates the novella or adult fairy tale with his own reinterpretation of Kafka's controversial narration. The author offers a first person account of the protagonist Gregor Samsa's transmutation; a human just like any other, with a grey, predictable and routine existence.
However, this bland existence comes to an end when Gregor undergoes a catharsis, a metamorphosis that transforms him into an insect. A mutation that Reeko describes beat by beat, giving us Samsa's every single heart beat and shudder. We bear witness to his dehumanisation, we feel every trace of humanity dissolve in the cold blood of the new being that is coming to life: an insect man, a new circumstance that will affect the way he sees the reality he thought he knew and the world that seemed to him rigid and unchangeable.
Juan Rico has already demonstrated his capacity for description. With the use of his trademark dark sound - both digital and analogue, since he has mastered both worlds- his sublime double LP Finding the New Matter (Mental Disorder, 2011) took us to new and exciting places, establishing him as a reputed artist within the international electronic music scene.
The first chapter-track is 'La Metamorfosis', which provides the title for the record and is the only track with a name. From here on, there will be no more labels; the dimension we find ourselves in bears no description.
A1, 'La Metamorfosis' acts as a prologue, a prelude which describes the whole record. It is not one of four tracks, but the opening that allows for the rest of the story to unfold. Over the course of six minutes, this first track progressively penetrates an atmosphere which becomes increasingly clear and intelligible for us humans, and at the same time separates us, cell by cell, from our own species.
A2, 'Capitulo 1'. We suddenly become aware, as Gregor Samsa barely managed in the kafkian setting of the original novel, that something is happening to us. All around us, reality remains unchangeable, but our vital rhythms and the way we perceive our surroundings is.. simply terrifying. Or is it just different
B1. Side B welcomes us with 'Capitulo 2': Gregor has lost all contact with his human self and has ceased to struggle, to question what is happening and where this catharsis is taking him. In this track, sounds stop fluctuating and palpitating and acquire a cold and thorny cadence. Precise basslines and rough melodies that transport us with very little gentleness to minute 2:40, where reality turns poignant, painful and imposing. It envelops us and abandons us to a new sense of self that we still cannot comprehend and, least of all, control.
B2. The transformation or metamorphosis reaches its climax with 'Capitulo 3'. The final light of the painful experience. A light which is dark and a place, a reality that, far from reassuring, takes us and pushes us with growing strength. Now we perceive every molecule, appendage and limb (dozens of them that we will need to coordinate from now on). We feel the embrace of the shell that both protects and oppresses. And we want to regain control, assume our new reality as quickly as we can to leave confusion, panic and fear behind. Indeed, all these begin to fade.
We manage to stand up, little by little, with great pain. Nothing has changed around us, but nothing is the same either. Our perception is different. The metamorphosis, the intense sonic battle we have lost in chapter 3, is an avenue to a new life. A cold and invertebrate life, but free from the chains of the sickly heartbeat that tethered us to that false warmth when we were mere humans. Where will this new phase of our existence take us How will we survive as insects from now on

Techno with sensors for details and a special kind of deepness.

The first R&B Rec Record is born from the encounter of two artists in the gloomy Baltimore of the beginning of the millennium, after years in which their artistic roads proceeded in a very much parallel manner, without ever physically crossing paths, driven by their passion for analog instrumentation and the desire to find and create new rhythmics and sounds. It is in 2013 the two decide to join their forces to create their own personal vision of techno music and dance music in general.
Resulting in a hot and scratchy Vinyl that combines dark, percussion sounds well known from Detoit Techno, with the sought after rhythmic of breakbeat and Drum and Base, of the British Nineties. Also packed with influences of Acid-House, this record incorporates features of the so influential 80's Punk Era, finally sinking it's roots in the psychedelic currents of the 70's.
The result is a brand new genre which is difficult, if not impossible to define. A unique way of defining Dance Music, in all its aspects, which is identified under the name of Spaceship Surgery Techno.

Tapan are from Belgrade, hosts to Disco not disco and now delivering two slow psychedelic techno bomb's to crimes of the future's letterbox. We first met Nebjosa and the crew when we played at Drug Store in Belgrade for them in early 2014. Upon receiving these we knew they had crimes written all over them. On Volumes we have two very special remixes of an already heavy original starting with Willie Burns taking them into the streets of Manchester in the early 90's and spending a night on at the Hacienda with no thought of the gentrification approaching. Drvcvltvre is the second provider and in true style switches out the lights and a spectre looms over the dancefloor dripping acid on the dancers below. The EP closes with Who's there featuring the brain melting guitars of Vladimir Djordjevic. Quite a debut we think.

It's hard to believe an entire decade has gone by since Claude Vonstroke first released 'Who's Afraid of Detroit'. But believe it or not, we've reached the 10 year mark of one of the biggest hits of Claude's career, and we felt it's about time for some fresh takes on the track that helped launch VonStroke and Dirtybird.
For 10 year anniversary, we tapped into the Motor City's outstanding talent pool and enlisted an amazing lineup of Detroit artists to help us celebrate. Besides Claude Vonstroke's brand new 2016 remix, we also included mixes from techno icones Octave One, minimal techno pioneer Marc Houle (Windsor is close enough!), and the accomplished trio Visionquest.
Not limiting the Detroit based artist package to just the music, the haunting release artwork comes to us from Michigan illustrator Dan May. In addition, a dark David Lynch style music video comes from award winning Detroit director, Anthony Ernest Garth.
"Who's Afraid of Detroit Remixes" will be released on the 10th anniversary of the Movement Festival in what city Detroit, of course.

The gifted producer behind Mønic and Kryptic Minds returns to Downwards under his own name with a crushingly physical testament to his knowledge of soundsystem dynamics and how to sustain knife-edge atmospheric tension.
The Lust Product EP offers four tracks of stare-down halfstep techno and grubby rolige that's patently a product of so many years manning a DJ booth and dancefloor. Lessons learned from the hard edge of D&B and how to properly make the speakers shake are at the core of each cut, ruggedly manifest in the cement mixer churn and deathly groan of System Living, and tightly laced to the Fishermen-esque, slow techno-meets D&B-on-33 grind in Silver Sun - a fearsome addition to our 113bpm techno folder.
But when he steps aside from the 'floor into more esoteric, dramatic headspaces and themes, he really proves himself a master of cinematic tension, recalling the most funereal rituals of Cut Hands in Lust Product's stygian trudge and sweeping low register string arrangement, or breaching the quasi-speed doom dub zones of Raime in External Laws.
Killer twelve.

2015 will see alex baus new album 'musick' to be released end of april showcasing his definition of slightly dark shaded, organic sounding and intelligent modern techno. A clear statement, free of hi-res artistpics or diverting elements, just the music in a very pure and straight way.
after 5 years it seems to be more than overdue that one of the most respected producers throughout the technoworld delivers a new full-length album after far more than 100 productions and remixes on well established labels like chris liebing`s clr, technasia`s sino, uk top notch label sleaze records, legendary harthouse or most recently also synewave and sven väth`s cocoon recordings.
anyway... it was clear that there just one spot on the label-landscape for his new longplayer: credo, his very own label which was kind of outperforming throughout the last year.
Blackmass Plastics is constantly evolving. Mutating sound. Whether destroying dancefloors with hybrid monsters or making two-step(s) ahead of the game bass music that still sounds fresh after more than a decade, Blackmass Plastics defies convention. A producer and DJ long associated with Ugly Funk, this marks his first vinyl release for the label and organisation for which he is an integral component. This doublepack contains a range of shapes and guises, veering towards the kind of open-minded 'no skool' techno dancefloors that Ugly Funk have become well known for in their 18 years of putting on parties.
'Under the Radar' includes the much sought after Newton's Cradle. (released briefly digitally then swiftly deleted. UFU HQ have been inundated with requests to release this track on vinyl ever since). A fat analogue and dysfunctional rave stomp, described by both Jerome Hill and Truss as a 'KILLER' and reviewed in The Wire magazine - "Newton's Cradle.. a whole junkyard worth of clutter crudely popping and locking, everything shaking as if in a Roobarb and Custard cartoon".
This release also throws some light on his industrious studio experiments from the last few years. Twitchpitch and Lololp are among the first of the new mutant experiments to escape the Lab - on promo and derailing dancefloors everywhere DJs play them. Arresting, not easy to describe, these trax are precisely identified; infectious twisted brainworm loops brought alive by DIY noise box processing. Where Grime and Punk seem to meet at speed. Head on.
Also included is the brilliantly named HR Giger Counter - a stripped down UK Bass rattler for the Nuclear Waste generation, totally unique, you haven't heard anything like this before; whilst Doomatron and Harmonic Minor Chasm both give a knowing nod to The Mover and PCP, touching base with the place where, for Blackmass Plastics, it all began...
As Blackmass Plastics and under other aliases he has released records for Deadsilence / Rag N Bone / Don't / Victim / Coin Operated / SMB / Yellow Machines / Audio Illusion and his own Thorn Industries imprint.
'Under the Radar' tracks have received airplay on Rinse FM, Kool FM, Sub FM
Support from Truss, Jerome Hill, Warlock, Esther Ofei, Dexorcist, NoYeahNo and others

It's been a while since Cristian Vogel drop out techno record so we are proud to present maestro on Heraldic.SPb.
Getting hot from the start, opening "Last Daze" is the minimal bleepy monster to burn basement dancefloors.
A1 " The Newness" combines dystopian sound landscapes with dubby atmosphere and whoopy beats.
B side opens with " G.I.R.R Engine", reminiscent to "Never Engine", one of Cristian's best works up to date, blueprint of minimal techno with no additions.
Last but not the least, " BOX Engine 124" slows speed down a bit and finishes the EP with dark and funky though spacey trip to another dimension.

An original electronic disciple hailing from New York, Sandwell District's David Sumner a.k.a Function presents his debut album 'Incubation' on Ostgut Ton. Like the soundtrack to a suspenseful Techno-thriller, or retro-futurist Sci-Fi tale, it's a modern sound journey heavy on imagery. Over nine tracks we are guided through the varying moods and scenes of Function's musical temperament. Be it through writhing layered club tracks, soaring string-led atmospheres, or melodic pieces founded on classic electronic traditions, 'Incubation' marks a new level of maturity for the Berlin-based producer. What begins as a lush and blossoming lesson in ambient synth arrangements, with the beautiful arpeggios and waveforms of 'Voiceprint', quickly drops off the apex and into the depths of Function's filtering acid world as 'Against The Wall' unfolds. This metallic, acidic concept is explored further too, in the final moments of the album with the chilling 'Psychic Warfare'. A spiraling, organic surge of warm synth tones and other-worldly arpeggios unravels itself in 'Counterpoint', acting as an early bridge between some of the drum-led studies that follow. And thus, the pressure increases. 'Modifier' presents itself with tight, snaking drum patterns and tense, late 90s kinetic warehouse energy. Opening a path into an alternate, yet not too distant dimension then, 'Incubation (Ritual)' takes form; it's haunting and graceful waves of synths continue the Sci-Fi theme, while the tough modulating bass undercurrent reminds us of Function's big-room Techno appeal. The final moments of 'Incubation (Ritual)' glide effortlessly into the album version of 'Inter', where ethereal melodies and snippets of spoken word surround a classic IDM-Deep-House core. 'Voiceprint' returns as a (Reprise) version, in what could become the crossover club track of the year. Coming on like a classic R&S or Soma release circa '95, the undulating synths are now caught in a rapturous groove, urged on by a perfect 909 drum pattern and forward pushing, precise arrangement. Taking the minimalistic, hypnotising mantra of previous Function 12''s like 'Isolation' or 'Burn' to another level, 'Psychic Warfare' brings the voyage to a a close, it's overlapping, ebbing metallic acid tones inducing equal measures of tension and elation. In the CD version of the album, 'Gradient I' concludes the voyage. Earthy, modulating bass and 808 patterns merge as a cyclic, audio resolution occurs. With a final, intense atmospheric wash we find ourselves re-born, out in the ether, having witnessed an event of great weight and substance. In the final mixing stages of the album Function brought the material to cult engineer and producer Tobias Freund (NSI). Since 1980, working with the legendary Frank Farian, Freund's skills helped bring acts like the controversial Grammy award-winning Milli Vanilli to fame, and he would pioneer early European Techno and Electronica through his Sieg Über Die Sonne project (with Dandy Jack). Function chose Tobias to do his work justice, and add his years of mix experience to this ambitious, succinct and artistic album. Bound in mysticism, forged through experience, 'Incubation' is a bold and powerful album from one of modern Techno's key players. Inclined to hold back, rather than release too much, Function has let his sound develop and mature, fusing analog synths and drums with modern production techniques to create something unique and timeless.

You might have heard of Happa by now. He's the Leeds native who first burst onto the electronic scene in 2013 with his blistering 12'single 'Beat of the Drum/ Bring It Back', the wildly precocious teenager (also known as Samir Alikhanizadeh) who won instant fans in the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs, Loefah and even Four Tet, the one who scorched a trail with his dark, bass-heavy sledgehammer house, which sounds quite unlike anything else out there right now.
Starting with the urgent, unnerving undertow of 'Chewy Teeth', it becomes abundantly clear that the last three years have seen a qualitative axis shift for Happa; his aptitude at marrying pounding beats with dark, ominous landscapes has been sharpened to a knife edge, his way around a foreboding bass has become laserlike. 'Ascension' takes things even further, with surging beats and rattling vocal declamations threatening to send the entire track skittering out of control. Closer 'Crickets' with its throbbing, subterranean pulse slowly opens out into a refracted strain of house at its most urgent and unnerving. 'Part 1' is the sound of a young artist refining his sound, with an unerring instinct for the jugular, and many more surprises up his sleeve. You'll be waiting on tenterhooks for the next installment.

The 9th vinyl release is here and we're very glad that, after a long time, we finally have The Noisemaker back on the label. And this time on wax. The Noisemaker, new label / agency regular member, has putted all of his finesse in 4 new outstanding productions. This new EP is an experience with various feelings emerging from the different moods of the tracks. Sometimes it goes on with broken beats, sometimes it is just straight and it always comes with hypnotic, tripping raw and acid synthetizers, entertaining rythmics, all wrapped in dark atmospheres. The EP is supported by a high quality remix from American Techno legend Paul Birken that delivered a real cutting edge rework of the original track "Processing". More than a remix, we could call it a reinterpretation. Paul's very own flow is immediately hitting with patterns running crazy and an intense energy which is raised by heavy bass drums and slashing percs.

After finishing off the DARK ACID series with installment 5. We have decided to delve deeper into the underground for this compilation. Bronze Teeth (Factory Floor's Dominic Butler and Richard Smith of L/F/D/M) open the record with a gnarled acidic beat track 'acid hag'. Satin Doll (Scott Young) brings a degraded noise soundscape with 'escort'. Glasgow's Lord Real (Becoming Real, Mourn, Zone recs), drops two tech beat tracks for the b side, 'more slugs' and 'printed money'. DRMCNT's (aka Acidliner and Hey Colossus's drummer) contribution is a bass heavy, banging track for the floor 'teenager'.

Closed Sessions' is a little comeback for our small family business RIVULET RECORDS, so we´re very happy to get help from some good friends on this one. Pablo Mateo from LACK, Perseus Traxx who has released on Bunker and MOS, Mod.Civil from Ortloff in Leipzig, Profile from Esthland and our very own Stanley Schmidt are artists who have been inspiring and exciting us for quite a while and who seem to share the same love for serious dancemusic. Although the tracks are very different, the whole compilation is driven by a dark and moody vibe which doesn´t let go the utopian and hopeful core of Housemusic which has been the light we´re been running for since one of these mornings... We hope you like what you hear, thanks for the support! Yours sincerely, Rivulet.

Patrik Sjeren, J-Dubs and Work Them Records founder Spencer Parker give Dan Beaumont's lauded 'Spirit Talkin'' the dub treatment.
Having seen much support from names like Truncate, Job Jobse, Marcel Fengler and ItaloJohnson, 'Spirit Talkin'' was an enormous testament to the London-based DJ, promoter and venue owner's production prowess.
First up on dub duties, Swedish veteran Patrik Sjeren, who's been releasing under numerous monikers since the early 90s on the likes of FXHE, delivers a chilling production courtesy of ghostly echoes and tantalising synths.
J Dubs aka Jamie Fry, founder of the STABLO imprint, then focuses on understated percussion as an undulating bassline joins infectious claps, before Work Them boss Spencer Parker combines rumbling kicks with shuffling hats for a stripped back dub version of his Workmix.

After releasing the first two episodes Isabel and Helene, the landslide continues with "Maysak", the third installment of Attic Music Hurricane Series. Here Fabrizio Lapiana returns with three melodic techno cuts, a mix of dark and calm vibes on the b-side, where a vibrant chord defines a melancholic atmosphere in "Leading Nowhere". A corrosive bass line snakes the ground in the ambient-techno's "Water Smoke", a track that express the hypnotic and peaceful concept behind the series.
A tangle of techno grooves, synth pattern and energy on the "Lasnait" side.

*Hot on the heels of DJ Deep's inaugural Kern mix for Tresor comes 'Kern Vol.2', selected and mixed by Gigolos boss DJ Hell.
*Hell has a track record of releasing benchmark mixes, most notably the wildly eclectic mix for Belgian club FUSE in 2000, and 1995's 'X-Mix 5: Wildstyle', whose concept he feels is 'not far
away from Kern Vol.2'.
*For 'Kern Vol.2', the Munich / Berlin machine dug deep into his vast collection to unite early House and Techno with the new wave. To start the process, he searched in the most obvious place: his basement. 'I was nding records I didn't know that I still owned,' he explains, adding that there are 'so many stories behind each track. It's not just the music - after 20 years there are so many memories that come back'.
*The rst 12' - The Exclusives - comes packed with previously unreleased tracks, specially crafted for Kern Vol.2 and carefully selected and re-edited by DJ Hell.
*Argentinean producer extraordinaire Jonas Kopp offers his own interpretation of the Hell sounds with 'X', an incendiary and wreckless number of instant gritty appeal. On the ip, two reworks operated by Hell specially for the occasion. The infamous Flashback '86 by Capracara receives a raw treatment, for full danceoor effect. The 1993 classic by Halogen (aka Zach Roberts), Bliss gets extended and reconstructed with complete new drums.
*Hell feels that 'Kern Vol.2' is a product of crate digging and vinyl culture, but rather than keeping it to himself, he wants to share it with as many people as possible: 'This music is very powerful & timeless and had a huge inuence on me. I have been Djing since the late 1970s and playing house since 1985 - this is my life.'
*As autobiographies go, 'Kern Vol.2' makes for a compelling opening chapter.

The Kestrel (Turmfalke) will rise in Spring 2015, starting the new label by Matthias Springer with focus on physical media. The philosophy behind is to invite friends to this special cross-over concept. Every artist presents an original in combination with remixing eachother. In the end 4 tracks on one release, no special genre is preset, everything can happen. Frank Hellmond is the special guest on the first Turmfalke release, bringing in his unique deephouse flavour that features some pretty nice vocals from Snowflake, while Matthias is turning it into a combination of dub and acid ... but just have a listen.
To protect the digital integrity all tracks will be re-released for online-media about 5 - 6 months after the physical release. Beside we decided that there is no need for "cool" looking coloured vinyl, so we will keep it black and heavy weight with 180g of pure electronic music!
early support by
Laurent Garnier, Dr. Motte, Slam, Xpansul, Ambivalent, Pan Pot, Marc Houle, Dosem, Someone Else, Franco Bianco, Acid Pauli, Booka Shade, Oliver Schories, Deepchild, Luciano, Magda and many more

Paride Saraceni's debut Truesoul release, Burning, brings us three uplifting and vocal-heavy tech house tracks.
A steady groove throughout, Saraceni's choice of instrumentation and flowing percussion create a melodic yet techy release with all three tracks laced with a solid kick drum, tinkering high hats and sporadic vocals. Burning is the perfect offering for the new year and proves there are big things on the horizon for Saraceni.

After the success of All In, Sven Tasnadi's latest album on Moon Harbour, the label is now
delighted to offer up a selection of remixes from it. Those enlisted to add their take on the fine
originals are the internationally acclaimed talents of Nick Curly, Map.Ache, KaiserDisco, Simon
Baker and Cristian Viviano.
Up first is 8Bit label boss and Trust man Nick Curly. The Mannheim producer has long been a
tastemaker when it comes to tech house and his effort here is a fine one. His take on 'This Girl'
flips the track into a deep and loopy number with sunny pads, cosmic melodies and non stop
beats that will keep people moving for days.
Map.ache (a founder of the KANN label in Leipzig) then goes all dubbed out with his excellently
watery, rolling remix of 'Until The End.' It's a moody, heads down and thoroughly underground
track for intimate backrooms that has airy hi hats and a muffled vocal phrase lulling you into a
trance.
The prolific Hamburg based duo of Kaiserdisco (associates of labels like Drumcode and My
Best Friend) then turn 'No Laws' into a perfectly roughshod house shuffler with undulating
drums that really get under your skin. The percussion is subtle, there are all manner of soft
shakers and distant synths that really add to the overall effect, and the result is truly fist
pumping.
UK star Simon Baker, of labels like Last Night on Earth and 2020 Vision, then goes hard with h
thumping, drum led version of 'Rest.' A robust bassline also adds weight to his groove and
some spangled synth patterns ensure this one will really set the 'floor alight at peak time.
Lastly, Italian Beatport remix competition winner Cristian Viviano comes correct on his full
blooded, barrel chested remix with its physical drums, skipping percussion and cutting hi hats.
This one bobbles along at a fair pace and is sure to sweep up dance floors as it rolls along
unstoppably.
Each one of these remixes breaths fresh new life into the originals and adds a personal spin on
things. They all make for fine listening and are sure to make their way into plenty of top DJ
record bags this summer.

30drop Records is pleased to announce the fourth release of its project, under the same name. "History of Gods" is an EP that envelopes us in a rhythmic spiral, taking us straight to the dance floor of the space. Four amazing tracks: three originals and a remix by the historic technomaster Steve Rachmad, as Sterac.
The festive opening vibration of "Transversal Sight", the schizoid cosmic rhythm of "History Of Gods", from the prism of 30drop or based on the vision of Sterac, and the galactic depth of "Complex Entropy" all define a solid work that takes us to the very depths of sacred geometry

Lucidflow have a habit of kicking off the year in style. Even by that standard, Justin Berkovi's entry
onto the label coming in both digi and wax flavours is quite remarkable.
Prelude heads up a quartet of tracks in style, featuring one of the best drops in recent times. The
lush strings and gentle keys provides one of those "stop and gawp at your mates" dancefloor
moments. Equally distinct is Dusk And Beyond, featuring bending and urging synths that sit
somewhere between classic Detroit and the protoPlaid works of Balil.
The classic Lucidflow template is represented by Something Together, running with airy progdub
tones and spoken word snippets, while What Will We Become goes for no messing Detroit in intent
whipcracking claps and a commanding vocal that cuts across the mix.
This release marks a new beginning for Berkovi, better known for his tougher Music Man, Force Inc,
Djax and Harthouse releases over recent years. After haunting the bside of one release too many,
a reboot into a more beloved and emotional techno template is obviously reaping dividends.
According to the man himself, this is no trend following phenomenon: I've always produced deeper
music, more often than not even years ago was always pushed to B sides of EPs or remixes but
now it's the main thing I want to do, techno with soul. After releasing a lot of more melodic material
on labels such as eevonext and an album for Trapez a few years ago I want to return to solely
concentrating on this style for my music and live sets'
Hitting the street on 3rd March 2015, make sure you're on board with a man relishing a new lease
of life.

Japanese computer dance avatar NHK returns to Diagonal.
NHK's second LP following releases for Raster-Noton, Pan, Line.
Chewy garage techno and new beta bounce — extra trax on CD version. Art by Guy Featherstone, as per.
Mastered by Matt 'The Alchemist' Colton.
RIYL Artwork/Grain, Demdike Stare, Gescom, Blawan, Zomby.
Kouhei Matsunaga's 2nd album as NHK — his label debut for Diagonal — is a pixel-pill gobbling, seesawing wave of techno emotions presenting the Japanese artist at his most rugged and damaged. After recent LPs from Not Waving, Elon Katz and Russel Haswell, Diagonal now excel in drawing out powerful album statements from some of the most distinctive musicians in contemporary electronic music.
As bonkers as the narwhal-cavorting-with-a-rhino artwork, Doom Steppy Reverb is the skizzo brother of new beta, a 3D spec'd rally thru some of NHK's darkest, most driven material, done with a gangster swang in deft minor key arrangements that hint at a certain rudeboy vulnerability.
Its seven tracks toe a fine line between novel and nasty, sidewinding from warehouse acid to brukkin' garage techno by the brutal close of 1073+snare, or basic channelling Autech/Reichian chords with sole-melting synth juice in Y, only to unexpectedly turn out a baroque scally bubble, Zomby style, with 1082_s. Make no mistake, it's a record full of club bangers, though: L gets on Lory D levels of neo acid house squirm and 1083_lo_oct will demolish a big room at the right time thanks to some properly toned subbass, adding a new weapon to Diagonal's arsenal of world-scattered radge packets. It's proper fuel for DJs, dancers and headphone excursionists — and the artwork makes it just a good ol' laugh to look at.
This is NHK's best work — and demands to be felt.

The second installment of re Interpretations form Slam's latest, critically acclaimed album Reverse Proceed sees Soma look to yet more highly regarded Techno artists to provide their reimagining's of their favourite tracks from Reverse Proceed. Long time Soma collaborator Gary Beck makes a welcome return to the label alongside fellow Scottish upstarts Clouds and finally Dutch Techno wizard, Jeroen Search. Each brings their inimitable style to the project.
Gary Beck steps up first with his take on Catacoustics. His fiery brand of looped out Techno take the already tough Catacoustics into another realm. Gary comes out, all guns blazing using the original hook to great effect as it trips out over his ferocious kicks, thundering percussion and powerful dance floor groove.
Not shy of a fierce remix, the Clouds twosome give Resolved a thorough going over. One of the more ambient tracks from Reverse Proceed, the beatless, breathtaking original is well and truly given a proper workout by the young Scottish producers. Filtered, shaking percussion leads us into the analogue warmth of the Resolved pads. This light start rapidly gives way to a full on assault of rhythmic destruction as Clouds turn in a serious weapons grade Techno track.
The influential figure of Jeroen Search closes off this EP in fine form with his version of Cirklon Bells. Widely regarded as a true innovator in Techno, Jeroen shows off his skills with this remix as he powers in with a straight out 909 workout infused with hypnotic synth hooks. Given the live treatment, Jeroen is able to keep things exciting with the remix and easily pulls out a highly addictive remix.

'Preparations' is the first record to be released on Tri Angle by Fis. Based in Wellington, New Zealand, Fis has steadily been building a name for himself on the underground as a producer to keep an eye on.
Having already put out a number of very limited edition and very well received releases through a handful of drum & bass oriented labels, 'Preparations' finds Fis at a point in his musicmaking career where he's ready to be introduced to a wider audience and confirm why websites like Resident Advisor have said things like: 'A producer that has suddenly appeared, rather fully-formed, doing something completely individual, sounding like absolutely no one else.'
It's difficult to explain exactly what Fis sounds like. Drawing upon a rich history of New Zealand customs and periods of heavy meditation for inspiration, Fis' tracks have the ability to completely disorientate and absorb the listener, creating rhythms that constantly seem to be cannibalizing one another.
'Preparations' feels forward thinking in the extreme and yet entirely elemental and strangely ancient.

Sugar Jim Jr.: DJ, founder, event manager, Movine Gu.nther (one part of Tricky Fixinf), Head of it All. This man knows what works in the club, has also built a few dance temples with his own hands. Awesome Dude! Music wise Very simple . deephousedisco & 6 a.m. euphoria! Letienne: Full-blooded Italian musician coining his tracks with the Dolce Vita stamp. His pieces make you feel fine, like a sip of a good red wine. Result: southern exposure, very sunny, soft playful bouquet and just great in the finish! Koellelectronic: Electronic visionary, sound art nerd and master of the faders and turning knobs. What this dude gets out of his analog-synth collection is just criminal. Warm but forceful base lines that start off with massaging the tummy, to reach a physiotherapeutic extend towards the end. Ike Tuner: West Berlin Hip Hop Dance Dude and Body Claus (second half of Tricky Fixinf). This boy has already filled his block, his street with old school Hip Hop beats and rough electro sounds when he was a child. The founder of countless combos is now responsible for the crass, beautiful beats. Hip Hop meets House & Pop. But with sense and thoughtfulness...Word!

Returning to Houndstooth a year since the release of his One Sound / Layer Lock EP is Second Storey. After spending most of 2015 focussing on his collaboration with Laurence Osbourne - Second Storey & Appleblim present ALSO - over at R&S Records, Alec Storey came back into the fold as part of the Houndstooth 3rd anniversary compilation earlier this year. Now he returns to the label in full with a gleaming new EP, Bismuth.Initialising the release, title track Bismuth takes inspiration from a documentary on the visually impressive metal. Affected by its angular, complex 3D elements and fluid like structures the music itself mirrors the element's appearance deploying the intricate precision of IDM creating its own multiplex of textures.Created directly after moving into his new studio, second track Vapor Valve is the product of Storey feeling invigorated by his fresh set up. Melodic poly rhythms and chord structures define the track from the outset which work neatly with Storey's trademark tight percussion, which sits in that golden spot between bass and electro.
Bringing the tempo up a couple of notches, Grand Rapid lives up to its title. Urgent in nature, it reflects the environment it was created in - crafted on a laptop while speeding through the countryside on a train. Propelled by its ever-present bassline groove, percussive elements speed and whir by in this pacey venture. Finally, Helicat completes the EP, built around the interplay between the main riff and synth percussion elements; from the outset bit-crushed bass drops and pommels out an electro-esque off beat rhythm while the synth line gives its circling answer. Those looking for deeper meaning to the title Helicat can tune into the bubbling sound that rises up midway, which Storey imaginatively describes as "a cat with helicopter wings on its head, taking off." Second Storey - Bismuth EP is out on 29th July on Houndstooth and will be available in both coloured vinyl and digital formats, vinyl limited to 300 for the world.

No schools, no boundaries.
These two styles of music - techno on one side and electroacoustic music on the other - are traditionally pitched against each other. However the two schools have a number of things in common, particularly the way they approach tone and the treatment of sound via electronics. Rebotini, who actually composed for the GRM, has often reaffirmed his admiration for composers like Bernard Parmegiani and Luc Ferrari. As for Zanési, after originally being in awe of Bartok and Stravinsky, he studied under Pierre Schaeffer in the1970s before discovering (rather late) the music of Kraftwerk and Cabaret Voltaire.Sharing the same curiosity for classical, contemporary and electronic music (even noise), the two composers decided to bring together and confront their two styles of music in a shared project called Frontières, first on stage and then in the studio.Over the course of their first live shows, the two musicians began to improvise, varying the intensity and length of the songs, whether playing in a club at 2am or in more traditional surroundings. Since the beginning they have been accompanied by video artist Zita Cochet who composes images to illustrate their tracks and serve as a backdrop to their concerts.

After on-going success showcasing events in the capital with heavyweights including Surgeon, Lucy, Xhin, Ryan Elliott & Peter Van Hoesen, London based techno imprint Weekend Circuit returns with another of the cities rising stars.
Dax J takes centre stage for the first vinyl release on the label, and doesn't fail on producing one of his most versatile pieces of work to date following on from his latest 12' on Monnom Black. 'La Haine' EP brings the heat with three tracks filled with atmospheric stabs, dark droning synths and hypnotic drum sequences throughout. Argentinian talent Jonas Kopp, better known for his releases on Ostgut Ton, Electric Deluxe & Stroboscopic Artefacts has been brought in to lead the line and delivers a raw & memorable take of 'La Haine'.

Following acclaimed releases by Jeremiah R and HVL, Organic Analogue is proud to present an extensive new release from a true underground hero of UK electronic music, DJ Guy.
For this latest exploration of Guy's music, Team O/A were keen to represent the full spectrum of his sounds, both stylistically and chronologically, across two different formats as a nod to the decades he has spent immersed in music. Recent releases have focused solely on tracks Guy recorded in the 90s, so they wanted to devote the vinyl part of the release to some of his newer productions.
The tracks on the Structures 12" prove that the same spellbinding atmosphere, swooning melodic content and crafty arrangement flex is as present in Guy's contemporary work as it is in his earliest tape rips. Elements of Drexciyan electro and UK ambient techno can be felt throughout, but they're delivered with an equal dose of ingenuity that is all his own.
As well as his plentiful techno output, Guy equally turned his hand to some crucial experimental jungle over the years. Rhythms 94/99 harks back to the era of Black Secret Technology, Plug and Depth Charge, all phased, diced up amens and dreamy pads that form a link to Guy's 4/4 work while once more demonstrating how on point his productions were at such a seminal time. The tape they have put together contains ten tracks recorded by Guy between 1994 and 1999 as well as an additional remix by White Peak that draws upon all the tracks for source material.
In addition, they wanted to document and explore the fascinating story behind Guy's music in more detail, and so produced an A5 book that features an interview and track notes alongside old flyers and studio photos from the earliest days of Guy's life in music.
"We hope that in some way this serves to document the tireless work of an immensely talented artist who has never created for anything but the most honest of intentions. Even if his incredible productions should have been more widely enjoyed back in the day, at least they're getting the recognition they deserve now."

Baastards never sleep! So don't think we were napping but just on the hunt to further the Baastard family. Whilst searching Italy we found not one but two Baastards, brothers so it must be genetic.
So finally we are happy to share what we found MATHAME. Matteo and Amedeo are from an art and classical music background. Mathame concept is to explore the compositions of techno as a contemporary translation of a Holy Icon. Studying medieval iconography led the brothers to a method of refining the procedures and practices of monks ( Matteo lived for five years in a kind of secular monasticism practicing mediation, exercise , abstinence and fasting.) Methane produce SONIC ICONS but their work is not devotional.
The remix was done by one of the biggest Baastards we know TRUS'ME. Turning Menhlaio into arse shaking groover with it broken breaks and pounding bridges whilst using the original chords to anthemic results. Already getting support from Klock and Dettmann.

Channeling the energy echoing off dancefloors along his path, Reinier Zonneveld has been on a steady slope rolling out dance igniting productions while touring an intricate live set. Megacity Servant, the artist's third studio effort, stands as a coherent 16-piece techno outfit tinged with experimental tones while playfully deconstructing classic acid and disco fragments. Coming from a classical music background, Reinier's style of production ranges from cavernous powertracks to more concise trips subdued with melancholic piano-stemmed soundscapes, rounding up to a signature sound that is evident as it is enveloping. Plastic People, our intro to Reinier's collective body of work, swiftly introduces a raw techno dungeon mood. Varying elements make for a surrealist atmosphere. Whispered vocals give a soft edge, while the contrast between the upbeat melody and grave stems reiterate its dreamlike character. Following up in the same timbre, a heavy-hitting percussion sets off 8 Ball. The moving bassline is revealed as centerpiece, while faint vocals antagonize the rhythm. Techno mainstay vocalist Cari Golden makes a notable appearance on Things We Might Have Said. Having previously teamed up with sonorous names like Pan Pot, Fur Coat & Coyu, Golden's stellar vocals and skillful lyrics shine paired with Zonneveld's production prowess. The production-vox chemistry is instant, as the track mesmerizes from the get go. Seizing attention for the full length of the track, the entire arrangement seduces the listener, making for a clamorous earworm

Ok where to begin with this one... maybe some bullet points first
- Stalker is a long standing friend from Australia, I met him when I was first starting out on this path and he has always been a guiding light for me.
- More directly he is a key part of the Ruf Kutz sound - Stalker has mastered every Ruf Kutz release
- Somewhere along the way, the word "analogue" has become conflated with the phrase "badly recorded on cassette" - this record hopefully seeks to redress that somewhat
Serious now, Stalker has a back catalogue like you wouldn't imagine - prolific doesn't even begin to describe it. I've picked 3 steamers from his archive, all made on a bunch of really amazing analogue synths and especially mastered for vinyl by stalker himself through his incredible collection of mastering gear. Forget waves l2, we are talking Fairman, TMC, Elysia Alpha & Maselec mla-3. That is the type of analogue we are talking about.
It's hard to believe that this is his first vinyl release. I know it won't be the last.

Envisaging a trustworthy approach to sound, French DJ and producer Voiski has steadily built a name for himself in contemporary left-field dance music. He took a singular path in techno, oscillating between experimental projects and signature sound dance floor material. The Parisian brings his versatile skills together on the third installment of Dekmantel's UFO series, serving up five completely different yet coherent sounding tracks.
.
The beat lacking ambient synth jam 'Go To A Mountain' is a display of Voiski's ear for mesmerizing soundscapes, while the pulsating, Nintendocore fuelled 'Happy Piece' and the dark, bass-heavy 'Seriously No' are two peak-time beasts. On the B-side, 'Come Back' gives you a glimpse of what the future of techno sounds like, whereas 'Drama In the Futuristic Cabinet' echoes Hi Tech Soul gone breakbeat. Welcome to the Dekmantel family, Voiski!

Under the stewardship of Alan Fitzpatrick, 8 Sided Dice Recordings continues to maintain its reputation as one of the most consistent techno labels to emerge in recent times thanks to a steady stream of well-received releases. The label operates as both a home for high profile artists and an outlet for emerging talent; striking a balance between output from Fitzpatrick and that of his contemporaries, including contributions from Rich Jones, Chris Colburn, ON/OFF, Harvey McKay, Hans Bouffmyhre and Nicole Moudaber.
Established in 2008 as a vehicle for Alan Fitzpatrick to release his own music, 8 Sided Dice has evolved on an impressive trajectory in line with Fitzpatrick's own career. Recognised as one of the most exciting talents to emerge from UK in recent times, Fitzpatrick's brand of infectious, modern techno has propelled him towards the upper echelons of the scene and has encouraged an impressive list of legendary techno talent - Cari Lekebusch, Joey Beltram and Slam - to grant their endorsement to 8 Sided Dice.
Having made his debut on 8 Sided Dice in April, Bryan Chapman makes a welcome return to the label with his latest EP, entitled 'Glitched Exit'. A big hit with the likes of Luke Slater, Adam Beyer, Jerome Sydenham and Cari Lekebusch all supporting and followers of 8 Sided Dice loving the heavy-weight funk and industrial darkness of his music. Elsewhere, Bryan has added to the production currency generated from his EP's for Jon Gurd's Primal Rhythm label and Dustin Zahn's Enemy Records.

Martijn Deijkers is a man of many facets: The Dutch-born now Washington D.C.- based artist and Panorama Bar resident started DJing in the 90s, producing in the noughties, released on labels such as Ninja Tune, Warp Records or Steffi's DollyDubs amongst many others as well as his own 3024 imprint - always with a unique, distinctive sound, nestled somewhere between 2-step, House, Dubstep and Garage. After having remixed Shed's "Another Wedged Chicken" (2009) and contributed "Miniluv" to Ben Klock's Berghain 04 (2010) we're happy to finally offer a Martyn solo 12" release on Ostgut Ton. Falling For You starts with the almost ten minute-long track of the same title: Opening with a major piano motif and some field recordings from along the road the A-side picks up momentum through its luscious Garage-inspired rhythm, bubbling synth bleeps, organic percussion and more subtle yet stirring piano motifs. Berliners may be familiar with Kreuzberg's 'Kotti' and its converging trains U1 and U8 - let's say it's a fascinating, multiculti yet rough place. The same goes for "U1-U8" on B1: a slightly darker offering with syncopated melody, hihats, claps and sampled shehnai sounds sitting atop the hollow kick. "Ahmadiya" closes this release with a rather pensive-tempered synth, string elements, beguiling piano strokes and a more break-heavy vibe. Winter may be coming by the time of release, but this record has club-meets-afterhour-meets-summer's-day written all over it.

London's DEXT Recordings continue to strengthen their catalogue adding to originals and remixes from Dubspeeka & Visionz, Komon & Appleblim and Bodyjack with their latest offering from the Manchester based Oli Furness backed up by Clone mainstay Alden Tyrell. This, the third release up on DEXT carries the same raw brawn as its predecessors and is a rattling meld of Jungle, UK Techno and House.
Throughout his previous releases on NDV, Morris Audio and his own Music Is Love imprint, Oli Furness has astutely touched many bases whilst drawing for the tape driven kicks, nifty sampling and intricate drum work that have been his calling card since the off. His 'Decisions' EP brings these tools together and opens with the title track that drives a thunderous kick under crunching stabs and a starkly contrasting vocal sample. 'Jungle Book' then sets a hefty break tumbling towards the introduction of a thick, flexing sub and bubbling synth patterns.
Next up, Dutch master Alden Tyrell adds to a catalogue that reaches right back to 1999 and weighs in with a stripped and burly revision of 'Decisions'. Powerful analogue hats are set crashing over a concrete kick and cavernous stabs before 'Let It Go' snowballs behind a classic break that gathers a jagged synth pattern and 90's vocal samples that are sure to send the floor into rapture.

* London based electronic music label Khemia Records announces its second split release vinyl Ep.
* 'Aurora' on the Lunar side is a new work created for Khemia by venerable Canadian producers Orphx.
* Crepuscular, infrasonic hydro-acoustics submerge padding rhythms, emerging gradually through oscillations and the caustic snarl of static, into a mutant echo chamber of polyrhythmic hypnosis and fractal bleeps to be finally swept away by vast, billowing swathes of spectral harmonics.
* 'Emboli', on the Solar Side is a new track written specially for Khemia by the enigmatic sound artist Rrose.
* Cascades of iridescent particles coruscate against the shadow of an ominous dirge, crashing into a wall of slurred rhythm that opens into a glacial abyss, punctuated by a fearfully insistent whiplash that finally dissolves into a quantum field of bituminous drones.

Clear Vinyl Pressing!
Tired of just rumbling low ends and mindless battering, Stefan Vincent points us in a more melodic direction. A rather melancholic and dystopian one, showing off his understanding of harmonics and tone sections. These compositions in Minor and Major hint towards equally feeling, futuristic atmospheres in which human kind is more and more affected by its unsatisfiable hunger for technology and perfection. Guided by the terrifying beauty of this vision, Stefan takes us on a four track tour through this world. A world in which we will have become merely observers of ourselves and we can only be let down. We can only watch as we rise towards being doubtful sentients. We can only listen as we wait for the machines to catch up with us.

2016 REPRESS !
12yrs on from it's original release - this absolute classic rises again from Newworldaquarium in Ross 154 mode! TIP!
here's the original press release:
The second release on the M>O>S record label could have been part of Hollands rich techno-history, if released when the tracks where made. Dating back as early as 1993, these two tracks come straight out of a plastic bag full of SA90 tapes in Ross154s bathroom (thats where he plays his music LOUD) and a cardboard box filled with cassettes rediscovered while moving Aroy Dee into his way too expensive spacious loft in the historical centre of Amsterdam.
Anyway, it all fell into place on a Christmas-diner last year at NWAQ-headquarters where these gems hit the speakers throwing Peel into a manic fit and Aroy jump out the front door puking his guts out in a format which would have made the Pizza Hut sue for copyright reasons. Fortunately, this wasnt about the music but about the chef, and all was forgiven in the end. It took some effort to polish these tracks so they could be released (I dont think Dexter will talk to us ever again) but here they are, bright and shiny!
Till my heart stops is probably the older of the two, and has survived the humid environment of the mystical washing facilities rather well. I guess he likes to shower long, but never too long. Kaoz is a small part of the now infamous My old piano sessions at the hangout of Haarlem DJ-collective Kaoz Connection, which where heavily inspired by KLF, The Orb and J-J-J-jack fever. Named after the always-present Diana Ross evergreen My old piano on 33rpm these sets they were a pretty mad mix of live electronics and odd tunes, and always ended in either a neighbourhood riot or a civilized police-request. Unfortunately most of these sets are lost forever, but somehow someone managed to press record while the 154 was doing some serious knob twisting.
Too keep it short, heres some old shit for new times. Enjoy!

Deathday (formerly Deathday Party) is a Los Angeles based Experimental Post-punk band, formed in Santa Ana, California in 2008 by brothers Alex Guillén and Giovanni Guillén.
Previous incarnations of the group can be traced back to Santa Ana's Koo's scene of the late 1990's. While the title-track is an unreleased one, instead "Dropped Into Obscurity" was already included in the Downwards compilation "Click Heels" alongside with Tropic Of Cancer, Silent Servant, The KVB. On the B side Mannequin asked to the synth-master Legowelt to remix After Dark".
Seldom has the post-punk revival seemed as urgent as with Deathday, who match their guitar driven dirges with esoteric industrial soundscapes and tape manipulation. Their music is often as bleak as it is violent, with low end cacophony bludgeoning the listener into submission. Lyrically, Deathday often invoke the violent culture hidden beneath the media, as well as explore the crippling aftershocks of isolation and the mysticism of the occult.
Comparisons, for those who prefer them, could easily be made to the likes of Throbbing Gristle and Suicide's uncompromising attitude and primal infrastructure, but the band has equal roots in forgotten post-punk favorites such as Nagamatzu, Venus In Furs, and Joy of Life, creating a powerful hybrid exploring the darkest and most hypnotic corners of the spectrum.
Known as Deathday Party until 2011, the band's self-titled cassette, released in early 2012, exists as a cold snapshot of their formative material, while both 'After Dark' and 'Dropped Into Obscurity,' released on Mannequin's The End of Civilaztion and Downward's So Click Heels compilations respectively, offer a club-friendly alternative. While neither track compromises the band's dark overtones, these tracks are ripe for the dance floor, having garnered heavy play in LA, New York, and Berlin especially. With a handful of releases on the horizon for 2013, including a split with Bestial Mouths, a vinyl reissue of their self-titled debut, and new material to follow, the future is looking uncharacteristically bright for Deathday.
In March of 2006 the brothers Guillén participated in Glenn Branca's 'Symphony #13 (Hallucination City)' for 100 guitars in Los Angeles.

Factory Floor return in 2016 with 25 25, their second album for DFA and the follow up to their hugely acclaimed 2013 self-titled debut. With their music stripped to a mesmerising dance of percussion, fragmented voice and melody, 25 25 captures the next vital stage in the evolution of one of the UK's most restless and exploratory groups.
Following the release of their debut album Factory Floor in 2013, the band - consisting of Nik Void and Gabriel Gurnsey - slimmed down to a duo. Having already boiled the scorched textures of their early singles down into their debut's hallucinatory club-not-club stomp, they both seized the opportunity to voyage further along the pathway, mixing the album with razor-sharp precision via David Wrench (FKA Twigs, Caribou).
Inspired by playing a growing number of late night club shows, the pair's music gradually evolved into the sound captured on their second album and in their current live incarnation: a stark, ultra-minimalist and eerily soulful dancefloor pulse, yet one that still bears Factory Floor's unmistakable hallmarks of hypnotic repetition and jagged, punkish intensity.

The label Bond is the brainchild of Swedish techno DJ and producer Petter B. The concept of the label is 'music by DJs for DJs'. The label focuses on releasing tracks that enable the DJ,
rather than the producer, to be creative. It is based on that special bond which is created every time a DJ combines tracks, loops and
sounds live into something new and unique.
This third release is a three-track EP made by Petter B himself. On the A-side there is the track 'Belgian Green' witch is an exercise in
percussion, rhythmic delays and peak time energy. On the flip there is the track 'Vacuus void'. It is a track made to create that
feeling of vacuum in the soundscape. It has long rises and predictable drops, always ending up with only the essentials of the
groove left. Tool02 is also built around a repetitive pattern of rises and drops. An atonal banger that is perfect to create mixpoints on
the fly with. It also has a forward momentum that can be applied to any track that lacks one.
Part of the release has already been played and supported by Adam Beyer, Joseph Capriati, Cari Lekebusch and Joel Mull. Big thanks for your continuous support!

Covered by water
I search for an escape
from these tightening walls,
Far laughs confuse me, and
I see the shadows of pedestrians
over me, unarmed,
In vain I try an handhold
but I'm absorbed always more,
I do not find an escape,
one last inhalation,
divides me from the death given to me,
no more footsteps, no more shadows,
no more laughs, no more water,
One thunderous, gentle, Rustle
dries out each one of my tears of desperation,
the eyes get closed, already white because of the cold.

"undying pieces" is the debutalbum of the german producer ascon bates.
ascon bates released technomusic since the late 90s on different labels
like hard-rec-audio, mindjacking, 9volt-musik, drug machine inc.,ritus,
credo, solid rush,... and so on.... he did remixes for asem shama (from
vanguard),
alex bau, alex kork and many more.....
his focus was and still is straight dancemusic for the floor. so it is
quiet normal,
that his debutalbum consists only of tunes for the solid deejay. the
influences
in the trax can not be overlooked: native detroit sounds between chicago
styled
drumpatterns, thats the hypnotic essence of the typical music made by
ascon bates.
so enjoy and push that masterpiece straight through the floors of your
clubs.

First release for I.vy on her own label Chinese laundry.
The delicate task is entrusted to the producer, which presents herself for the first time ever with a release of her own, not surprisingly titled "Vol I" .
A careful work, a well illustrated journey, where the four cardinal points are 4 originals marked by a bass line sound that seems to come from a TB 303 just dusted off by a deposit of Mr. Ikutaro Kakehashi .
To accompany the wave generated by the rampant synthesizer in the furrows of the pvc, fits perfectly a drum machine that sometimes cuddles the groove, as in the case of Blue Lanternes with a precise hihat. and on the other hand, reappears gritty and intense as in Dragon Head, where the synth sound becomes more acute and clear; and here its appropriate to say, "devastated" by a filter with unmistakable acid reference.
To enrich the collection is the A2 side, Straw Sandals, which acts as a bridge to the other side (more aggressive). Track set with a repeating unique mood, but perfectly modulate.
Four possible choices, each with its own soul.

Lovers Rock Recordings celebrates its tenth release with another lush compilation featuring tracks by three core members of the LR family and newcomer Gunnar Haslam. Opener Vacation' by Ital sees the label boss crafting a supple DJ weapon out of a lysergic sonic ecosystem. The rapidly-maturing DJ Wey returns to the fold under his DJ Python alias with Amazonia,' an ambient bomb that allows a deceptively simple hook to lilt across a thumping reggaeton rhythm. Gunnar Haslam makes his LR debut with Vector No Campo,' blending modular acid and perfectly crunched electro drums. Finally Sleeper Cell close out with the shimmering, haunting V.' The first LR release of 2016, LR no.10 exemplifies the label's ethos and sound while pointing to the future, with EPs by Ital & Halal, Yoshinori Hayashi and others slated for later in the year.

Following the release of 2015's Animistas album on Mindtours, Steevio returns with the fourth and final volume in the Modular Techno series after starting the project in 2012.
Initially conceived as he moved his studio practice towards a purely outboard, analogue, modular synthesiser set up, the Modular Techno series has charted the development of Steevio's exploration of this working practice both on record and on stage. The work involved in live appearances across the UK and Europe over the past four years have fed into the creative process, with rehearsals for sets often yielding the material that has ended up on vinyl.
Volume 4 is arguably the darkest instalment in the series to date, dealing in a strict economy of minimalist rhythms and off-key melodic touches while still easily identified as the unmistakable tones and distinctive grooves of Steevio. In the grand tradition of techno as visionary music, the dystopian tone that lingers throughout Modular Techno Vol 4 points to a future of uncertainty, but this is far from nihilistic music; always within the darkness remains a glimmer of hope.

A year after his debut album "Viaggi", Amsterdam based italian Marco Antonio Spaventi is back with another fine full length statement. Entitled "Isola Sommersa" and landing on M>O>S Recordings, it follows up after many great EPs on the label over the last five years.
Spaventi has a passion for old school house but always brings it up to date. Using hardware tools like a natural extension of his body, he cooks up rugged grooves, nostalgic moods and smoky atmospheres that cocoon you in sound of its own. As well as releasing on other labels like Slow Motion, Secretsundaze, Pizzico Records and Cos_Mos, he is also an acclaimed production wizard and runs his own professional studio.
Long the way here, Spaventi dips his toes into various waters with equal success. There are spaced out and invitingly warm grooves such as the rubbery 'Tape Noodles', blissful ambient interludes like 'Undisclosed' and serene synth passages filled with retro future beauty such as the closer 'Titanic Moments.' Cuts like 'Simple Mind' prove this artist can conjure up genuine feelings of internal reflection as well as raw physical drum lines, and 'Best Regards' is a tantalisingly go slow bit of cosmic house that erupts into a fluid acid track.
Though Chicago and Detroit are obvious reference points, Spaventi always develops his own ideas with a refreshing vibe. It makes for an album that is house at its heart, but also one that is ambitious, absorbing and widescreen in the way it is executed.

MRT release number four is a relentlessly loud outcry. Bruno Belluomini delivered three overwhelming techno pieces that dive into rough, violent, dirty waters.
The EP is fast and unforgiving, and if one lets it, it will take one down and never let go. The outcome is clear, as it is well known, we all did terrible things to survive.
Hotflush's remix series continues in style with fresh interpretations of Dense & Pika's 'Colt' and 'Airless'. The UK techno duo's slamming main-room originals are still hot properties, but in the hands of George FitzGerald and Grain they get new life and perspective breathed into them.
George FitzGerald is the Berlin based Brit who made a big impact with his bass heavy tunes on labels like Aus and Hotflush before getting snapped up by a Domino offshoot Double Six for his acclaimed debut album earlier this year. He returns to Hotflush in grand style with a remix of the now-classic cut 'Colt'. Uplifting and replete with the inimitable tropes on which he has made his name - emotion and groove in equal measure - FitzGerald revitalises the original's unforgettably forlorn piano hook. The second remix comes from Grain aka influential and multifaceted producer, Artwork. This is an old alias of his that makes a stomping return. His take on Airless is an exquisitely boisterous techno roller: heavyweight kicks, lively ticks and some serious main-room heft.

King Cheetah is new shining star from the Motor City. The new release is 3 tracks inspired from techno vinyl digging in the late 90s. A time when music was a lot more simple and focused on a vibe through the use hardware limitations. Though, its King Cheetah's first official release, he has been making music for over 20 years in seclusion on the West side of Detroit. Finally, after almost a year of negotiation, we've struck a chord and are able to present this release!
We also celebrate the first release of Light Body Works. Light Body Works is a music label who doesn't claim any city as its own since its irrelevant these days. The intention is to release club music that both induces hypnotic states through repeating melodic movements and straight rhythm patterns.

The Bunker New York is proud to announce the second EP from Mehmet Irdel, also known as Løt.te (pronounced Loat-tey), following his debut release on our label in 2014.
Løt.te's 'History of Discipline' EP features two distinct moods and detailed, industrial-inspired sound design with a firm focus on the dancefloor.
"When I discovered the heavy, dark techno coming out of the U.K. and Japan in the '90s and '00s, like Regis, Surgeon, Female, and Takaaki Itoh, it was a revelation," Irdel says. "Until then, I hadn't realized that techno could reference the grittiness and physicality of industrial music and make it work so well, and feel natural on the dancefloor." These muscular, upbeat techno artists are the perfect reference point for Løt.te's music, but Irdel takes his work one step further, featuring an emotional complexity that many other producers lack. "I'm interested in techno that feels both masculine and feminine at the same time," says Irdel. "These days, most techno feels either very intricate and clean, or very noisy and macho. What interests me is finding an in-between."
True to its name, "History of Discipline" is the darker track here. Built on a foundation of heavy, swinging kick drums and shuffling hi-hats, the track builds to an enormous climax before winding down into a rattle of metallic percussion. "A Mutable Constant" is more ambiguous, featuring a rubbery bassline and steadily-building background percussion - until a moody, longing synthesizer pad begins to take center stage. "I don't honestly know where the emotion in 'A Mutable Constant' came from. That wasn't the plan when I started working on it," recalls Irdel, "but I incorporate a mix of analog synths into my productions, like the Korg MS-20 or Doepfer Dark Energy, and their sounds sometimes surprise me. My production process begins and ends with a computer, but I love being able to have that '90s analog sound' in my work. I'm very conscious of not having any 'overly digital' sounds in my tracks."
Løt.te's latest EP embodies the spirit of techno while simultaneously pushing its sound forward. "Techno, for me, is an experiment in human perception. A way to find the fringes of perception in rhythm, melody, and emotion, to push all the way to the edge, to find the breaking point. I'm trying to push techno's boundaries without ever losing sight of 'what makes techno techno': its restraint and groove."

For more than a decade, The Bunker New York has been a nexus point for the transnational techno community.
A chance meeting at The Bunker in 2011 brought together Gunnar Haslam and Johannes Auvinen (also known as Tin Man), who became fast friends and collaborators soon after, conceiving a joint project called Romans. The Bunker New York is proud to present Romans' Ambulare Aude, a collection of atmospheric acid techno tracks following the project's debut on Auvinen's own Global A in 2014."The Roman theme opens a world to explore beyond both of our past endeavours," says Auvinen, explaining
the conceptual genesis of the collaboration. "In the same way Ennio Morricone may have conceived the 'Spaghetti Western' genre by fusing together various contemporary motifs and moods to conjure the spirit of a past era, we're imagining stories and scenes from the Roman era, trying to manifest narratives while celebrating the distortions we see looking through the murky lens of time." And while Morricone may be a conceptual reference point for Romans, their sound is anything but—instead offering up a pair of murky, psychedelic acid-etched cuts (Emona, Delmenium) buffered by a gradually unfolding up-tempo floor-burner
(Coptos).
The record is the result of several extended improvisational jam sessions in Vienna and Brooklyn in which both
artists would play off of each other in the studio. Accordingly, each of the three tracks have a slight aleatory
air about them, as though both artists are being led down an unforeseen musical path, not entirely certain of
where it leads. This culminates in Delmenium, the record's B-side, a true techno journey, featuring an emotional, metallic synthesizer coruscating against a melancholy background.
"I like to think what we make sounds simultaneously like both of us and neither of us. We both push each other
in different ways," Haslam says, recounting their production process. Auvinen adds that "(Collaboration) offers a chance to hear from someone else's perspective. Working with others, I'm often reminded of how radically different the way people hear things, and relate to them in a musical context, can be."

Lucky Light LTD is vinyl only techno label founded in Belgrade, Serbia by a young talent Speedy. His coworker on this first release, somebody who's known to worldwide audience, based in Berlin, Alexander Kowalski is opening this release with his remix of Speedy's track False Theory. D_func, who made this remix, is the project of Alexander and represents his new way of techno production. Serious theme of this remix, with usage of heavy hi hats and hooks, is bringing up together all qualities of Alex's musical abilities. Massive peak-time track good for dynamic sets! After that, on this release, you can find original version of track named False Theory. Slow opening with kicks followed by tomes and with shake loop is quickly transforming, into technoid drive. Repetitive Synth and FX part carry this song to break where the track is going to lay down a bit which is later followed by one dynamic breaking-in of the main theme. At the end we have False Theory in Speedy's Lucky 13 Rework remix. The main theme of the original here is also present, but with different approach to dynamics. Massive break followed by rush of kicks and snare parts which, simply said, break the rhythm and make excellent euphoric moments. Played and supported by: Marco Bailey, Cari Lekebusch, Alexander Kowalski, Ben Sims, Dave Clarke, Gary Beck, Mark Broom, Markantonio, Luigi Madonna, Alan Fitzpatrick, Petar Dundov, Cristian Varela, Slam, Marko Nastic, Mladen Tomic, Dejan Milicevic, Tom Hades, Billy Nasty....

This up and coming producer is already a legend amongst the crew of techno freaks in Brooklyn. With previous releases on local imprint Lovers Rock, and releases slated for Proibito and Exotic Dance under the the aliases DJ Python and DJ Xanax, DJ Wey aka Brian Pinyero has contributed a massive 12' to BANK Records. The A Side Song for Masahiro' is dedicated to Masahiro Ueda, a DJ and friend who graced the BK scene by way of Japan. It's a bass heavy tune with melodic pads floating in the forefront amongst the occasional cheering sample. It's perfect for either opening or closing a set midsummer. In contrast, the B Side opens with Flow On.' With its distorted kicks, relentless claps and hypnotic bells one could imagine hearing it on a nightmarish carnival ride...fit that into a set. The record ends on an electro tip with spaced out pads, backwards samples and classic electro style drum patterns. Distinct in sound and diverse in approach, don't sleep on the homie DJ Wey

Our 8th release comes from a true unsung, underground hero of the Australian electronic music sub-strata.
A 6 track EP of unheard, unreleased archival tracks taken from Ewan "Red Ember" Jansen's vast DAT collection spanning the period 1999 - 2004.
The Red Ember story is fascinating, a true DIY operation releasing the deepest House and techno sounds on super limited lathe cut discs throughout the nineties and early noughties. Ewans heritage as a producer runs deep with him catching the attention of various Detroit and US based labels with his own melodic, unique take on House/Techno leading to releases that today that still sound super-fresh and are highly sought after.
"Lost Embers" runs the line from sparse, lo-fi hypnotic House, to downer Ambient to epic, true school Detroit laced Techno.
We are very proud to be releasing this record and we'd like to thank Ewan for his openness and generosity regarding this project, and to Alex Egan of Utter for his fantastic design contribution. Thank you!

Seriously strong Jamal Moss LP under his Hieroglyphic Being moniker... essential.. TIP!
In HB's own words:
'Describing The Disco's Of Imhotep he says:
'The Disco's Of Imhotep is about creating Frequencies and Vibrations for the Listener that are conducive for him or her to Heal The Mind and Body and Enrich the Soul by creating Hemi-Synced Harmonies and music that contains embedded Binaural Beats. We have been made to believe that electronic sounds are just for Movement, Enlightenment, Primal Afflictions and Entertainment purposes, but it's much more... It's Sound Healing, but the ancestors would call it Frequency Medicine. Medicine is Healing and this project is dedicated to one of Earth's first Healers: High Priest Imhotep.
The One who comes in Peace, is with Peace."
Ninja Tune set up Technicolour as a singles label. The Disco's Of Imhotep is only the second Technicolour album release in the wake of 12's by Legowelt, Florian Kupfer, Nathan Melja, NY*AK, Kutmah, BNJMN, U, and the first longplayer on the label by Levantis.'

Nick Klein and Maoupa Mazzocchetti recorded some wild jams while touring together last year for an Unknown Precept label showcase. Combining noisy sounds with live melodic synth riffs as well as a jacking 808, Klein and Mazzocchetti made some harsh left-of-center techno. With time signature and tempo changes mid-track, this music has a zero fucks given attitude. Recorded in Berlin. Hand stamped 7 inches manufactured in the USA. Quality music for your soul!
