Serie 1

Asférico presents "Serie 1". The first volume of a collection of four releases mixed live at Störung Studio. Long developments that transform Asférico's Series in electronic musical trips full of humanity in an aiming for perfection and computer-based world. CD contains the extended version of "Serie 1" while the vinyl release includes an edit version in Side A and 20 useful loops for djs based on the original piece on the B Side.

with a pumping, detroit-flavoured beat and a hypnotic synth.

Berlin based brit Ed Davenport launches his own 'Counterchange' imprint, titled after his defining debut LP last year on UK label NRK. Maintaining the concept of presenting bold, contrasting and multi-faceted dance music, the label will release new material from Ed alongside other artists, ranging from techno, house, electronica, and beyond.

Blending atmospheric house with heavily laden techno, Davenport's 'Inland' project was first revealed on the Berlin based Falkplatz label in 2012, with the self titled 'Inland' EP.

Now with the 'Solstice' EP we find ourselves drawn further into the Inland concept - combining dramatic synth-scapes with strong, pacy techno undertones.
The title track 'Solstice' acts as a beautiful opener, not only for the EP but for the label in general, with its warmth and strong feeling of movement. We then move swiftly into darker, more urgent zones with 'Solstice (Lost)'.

The airy and textural 'Monument' presents a fresh look into Davenport's dubbed, melodic world, spiraling and shimmering in an immersive 4 minute piece. Finally the weighty 'Earthloop' follows in a crisp, powerful and unapologetic club tool.

Beatside V.A. UNRILIS009. Rino Cerrones Unrilis imprint presents a rare 12 inch featuring the Beatside compilation 7 tracks of typically rolling fare from Joseph Capriati, Gaetano Parisio, Sasha Carrassi and Rino himself. Unrilis has a reputation for no-nonsense dancefloor output and Beatside represents the Naples-based imprints modus operandi perfectly. Each of the artists involved in Beatside are part of the tight knit artist roster of Unrilis or its extended family in the fertile techno landscape that is Naples.

Joseph Capriati delivers a stirring, snare driven opener with Spring Sprouts that rounds off a superb year that has seen him become one of the Drumcode labels key players - a fine accolade.

Label-boss and highly regarded veteran of techno Rino Cerrone steps up for track 2, Pitch Black, and shows his skills in a groovey, swinging tech-house form.

Gaetano Parisio rolls out shuffling drums and filtered stabs aplenty with his accomplished and upbeat Black Out which marks the midway point of the EP while Sasha Carrassi turns the lights out for the bubbling, moody and aggressive Tetrahertz.

Unrilis is a breeding ground for talented young artists and the Beatside EP is a neatly packaged insight into its fresh roster and older guard essential stuff.

As a rave Icarus turns to his companion and sighs, "We tried to touch the sun my friend, but we got burned..." these tracks leave a trail of scorched earth behind them while you stand bewildered in their smoking wake. Nurture your most wayward desires to these sounds coming from god knows where, and inflict them on the innocent as soon as you can.

A1: Objekt. 'Balloons' comes on like a frisky catfish with its cascading broken glass skank. Backwards alien voices creeping sidereal, weaving around signature bass-bulbs. Bombastic electro mutation at its best, uncompromising, oblivious to trend. Don't get comfortable cos this track wants to smash your mind like a broken mirror, while around the detritus a melody wave builds like weeds on an abandoned nuclear site; after the blast all kinds of strange legumes start to flourish..
A2: An-i (Douglas Lee) 'Convo' All-pummelling with ripped up digital scree corroding the smoothness of the bass throb. A listening experience like trying to control the most intense rupture of an MDMA rush from the inside of a rave vortex, while all around spins and faces melt. Machine gun whip drums and vicious snap-backs punctuate this most militant of grooves, a work out for the mind and floor punisher of the finest pedigree.
B1: JoeFarr & J.Tijn. 'Mustard Sucker' An aggressive track work for those who like it hard. A distorted acid line creeps ruggedly over you in a dank alleyway - gnawing away at your psyche like a poisoned rat. Just when you think you've shaken it off bam ! Its all up in your face with a punch in the gut bass and and a spray of liquid acid to the face.
B2: Positive Merge 'Note' Welcome to the panel beaters convention. Bathe in this misanthropic machine music for that stay up forever vibe. This track sounds like you are being pursued by a rabid hell-hound across a never ending industrial waste ground. Its so close you can smell its acrid breath. In the end fade its breathing comes to fore, and one can only assume that death by mutilation is seconds away.

Release number eight on Telefonplan is an all family affair. Joining Mad Mats & Tooli's team of artists is Swedish producer wiz Andreas Saag.
Mr Saag has taken the leap from Local Talk and now makes his debut on Telefonplan.
Opening track Justice is dark, deep and with a sumptuous bass to sink your teeth into. It's rough and punchy with a clever vocal sample that almost works like a chant. Justice comes in two versions, for those of you who like your song instrumental we've made sure your wish is granted too, it still got enough intensity about it without losing the pulsating heaviness.

On the flipside, 'Call Of Yacuma' could be described as a grittier and stripped down version of Andreas previous Local Talk track 'In The Box'.
It's pure simplicity and groove makes it simply irresistible.
Listening to these tracks it's clear Mr Saag has been influenced by living in Berlin these past years. Both Justice and Call Of Yacuma wouldn't sound out of place in a dark club with a big soundsystem late at night.

Just make sure you get past the bouncer while entering the club.

After EPs on M>O>S Recordings and his own well formed Scenery label, Liverpool producer Stu Robinson aka ASOK now steps up with a solo release on M>O>S Deep.
With an analogue sound full of nostalgia, emotion and subtle shades Chicago, he perfect fits on this most considered underground label.

Up first is the beautiful melancholy of 'Future Wars', a track that, with its doleful pads, paddy drums and generous sense of space, leaves you feeling suspended in the cosmos. Then comes the rather more prickly 'Final Battle' with its spinning hi hats, daubs of acid and lingering pads. On the flip, 'Interaction' is a cleaner, clearer track that places its focus on a squelchy lead synth line that steps up, down and side to side. It's nicely mechanical and perfectly off sets the soft focus pads that swirl all around. Last cut 'Abandoned Places' is a slo-jack track with skittish, broken sounding hits and drums, more flecks of acid and rusted textures so real you can almost reach out and grab them. Once again, then, ASOK and MOS Deep have painted us an alluring vision of their beautifully imagined electronic world.

M_Rec Ltd continues to ascend as one of the the most interesting labels in the techno scene. Today's release sees Giorgio Gigli (Prologue Music, Zooloft, Electric Deluxe, Elettronica Romana, etc.) sign two original tracks and a remix of one of the most important artists of the past few years: Terence Fixmer (Electric Deluxe, Prologue Music, etc.). Together, their approach creates something special and unique. In its original track Giorgio Gigli delivers the best of its hypnotic and psychedelic techno. A great atmosphere, where the ambient pads meet the dark bass sound which made Giorgio one of the most significant artists in the new techno scene. The side closes with an ambient session; a drone of pure electronic,dark synth, making the idea of the state of mind of his own individual unconscious.Terence Fixmer's version is decidedly more rough, stripped of certain atmospheres, highlighting a more hypnotic and repetitive attitude. This rough sounds have for many years marked Terence Fixmer as an icon of the techno world.
This is a great release of modern techno!

It seems that there is an overabundance of artists today who have reached a level of success from their work, but very few of them come close to the level of output and range as Butch. Equal parts producer extraordinaire, DJ, gentleman, and comedian, Butch has everything deserving of a star in todays dance music arena. Which is why, we here at Watergate are extremely pleased to present him as next in line for our Watergate Mix Series.
In twenty three tracks spanning an hour and twenty minutes, Butch guides you through a lucid dream in a technicolor world where time ceases to exist. Reminiscent of a turn of the century Danny Tenaglia, Butch displays his prowess as not only a tastemaker, but an artist encompassing a boundless spectrum of intention and interpretation. The journey begins with the washed out ambience of Jonas Kopp's '55 Dias' as the groove of Octex's 'Liagon' slowly surfaces establishing the foundation for which the mix will follow suit. Slowly but precisely, Butch moves into a lush landscape of utopian sounds with tracks like Redshape's 'Goom' and Minilogue's 'When Sadness Releases Joy Arises' before taking a turn to the heavier side of dance floor pandemonium. Almost obliviously, you find yourself locked in a hypnotic state as the sound of Truncate's remix of WestBoy's 'Green Illusion' and Polar Inertia's 'The Last Vehicle' lash out in proper "four to the floor" techno.
The mix would be incomplete without two cuts from Butch himself, and this is where the mix dives into the psychedelic side of club music. Both tracks 'Spirit', exclusive to the mix, and 'Thai Cubensis' with his partner in crime Hohberg are psilocybin laced expeditions into the outer reaches of deep space. As with any psychedelic experience, it must come to an end. And, this is where your shaman, Butch, eases you back down from your journey with a plush and opulent cloud of warmth. With a compassionate touch and soothing tone, you are gently laid into the sonic opera of Weltwirtschaft's 'Maud'. As an atmosphere unlike that of a ride through the cosmos slowly fades into silence and the adventure ends, you are left with a feeling of complete content and gratification. Watergate 18 is a demonstration of a master's touch and we could not be more thrilled to have had Butch as our guide.

Culminating the cycle and international success of his debut album, Daniel Avery releases New Energy, a collection of remixes including six new reworks. Rødhåd proves why he's the most exciting new name in techno by turning Drone Logic into a pulsing, peak-time behemoth whilst Silent Servant shows off his trademark, industrial tinged mastery on the previously ambient Spring 27. To complete this 12', Volte-Face, owner of London's vital experimental night BleeD, enters the production world with a beautiful and ecstatic reimagining of Platform Zero.

Brooklyn-based producer & 1/2 of the Mister Saturday Night duo offers a saber-toothed, bass-heavy take on techno w/an unexpected tender side. Flip for a trance-like stomper sporting stirring strings.

Brothers 008 is really a tale of two sides, a Jekyll and Hyde of a record.

On the A side Berlin based Eomac and Rory St John team up to create a rolling broken beat groover. Laden with spooky, spaced out synth lines, crisp percussion and a truly hypnotic flow. Throw in some exploding distortion and your left with a real journey of a track from start to finish.

The B side is another story entirely. Joe Farr a fast rising star in the UK techno scene team up with Witch, who have released on Happa's label PT/5 Records, with remixes from Shifted and Truss. A harsh, angry, fast and aggressive line starts their collaboration off and ploughs its way through to the end. Distorted and filtered hi hat patterns drive the track forward with pure energy only relenting to open up space for a broken dubbed out kick and whip-lashing acid line.

Perfidious observes society and sees through the lies that are everywhere. Meritocracy and consumerism run the show. We live in borderline times. Roebin de Freitas shows us this wound we have been ignoring and opens it with this aesthetic within techno that Roebin has been defining for himself. This ep consists of 3 tracks which can be labeled as dance floor material but with hints of industrial, ambient and IDM.

At first we find ourselves in unfamiliar territory. ‚Borderline Times' stutters along, creating enough energy to keep you moving while at the same time giving space for a more ambient mindset. Throughout the whole track a subtle balance between an intimate atmosphere and more metallic percussive elements enclose you. This warm mood gradually disappears when we reach our final destination . Tormented pads take over as we plunge into darkness.

‚Stuck midway' takes us by the throat right away. This is high energy techno layered with bass and percussion. Relentless, stomping kicks and an unsettling attitude slowly build and constantly shift. About halfway a distorted melody finally liberates itself from its chains and slowly takes control of the track. This track is reminiscent of early rave techno while capturing today's pulse.

‚Kopzorgen' is heady but still pushing. This track is a turmoil, starting of dark and subtle but gradually giving it a more industrial and energetic outlook. The various bleeps and eerie chirps go hand in hand with syncopated rhythms and create a hypnotic atmosphere. The track has a very playful and experimental side,
which is what Roebin's music is all about.

Silence In Metropolis is a new vinyl and digital label that has a discerning ear when it comes to underground House music. Now on its third release the imprint aims to serve as a hub for up and coming talent alongside established artists that have already paved the way. For their next EP they turn to Usual Things Around, a trio based out of Italy and made up of Manuel de Lorenzi, Paul DC and Samuele Pirani who have clocked up support from the likes of Richie Hawtin, with remixes coming from man of the moment Dale Howard and Jus Nowhere.

The Usual Things Around trio have long histories dating back to the 90s and taking in party promotion, label management and many production projects, and that heritage shows in their tracks.

First is 'Rescue', a chunky cut and heavy house groove with well defined percussion and teasing vocal samples. The rubbery bassline will no doubt slay dancefloors whilst the twinkling melodies work just as well on head as they do on heel.

The remix comes from Jus Nowhere - the pseudonym for the Washington DC based Justin Nouhra who has releases forthcoming on Rebel Hill and hometown label, Silence in Metropolis. His rework of 'Rescue' is more intricate and tightly layered, the drums are a bit looser, the groove more fluid and the neon glow of the background pads seem extra warm.

The other original is 'It's Real' a fulsome and cantering track that verges on techno with its metallic stabs, clicking percussion and dubby ambiance. Driving on and on with subtle elements creeping in and out of the mix, from weird voices to ditty chords via what sound like bird calls, it's a track for the body and no mistake.

After serving up some chart topping bombs for the likes of Morris Audio and OFF Recordings, Dale Howard is very much a new school talent on the charge. His remix is garage inclined remix shuffles and wiggles along without any friction, just the deftest of melodic touches, and closes out a very promising EP from an equally auspicious new label.

UK is (again) a hot place for uncompromising stuff at the moment. It was inevitable Minimum Syndicat would soon welcome a leading producer of the new wave of british darker techno. George Lanham chose the french label to present the fiercer side of his sound, that Dave Clarke once described as "peaktime dancefloor destruction that mixes Beltram with Chicago and Hood with Faki". This one is a lesson in nosebleed severity with a modern twist. XXIst century techno body music. No hipster allowed.

"Dethroned" is your typical M-Syndicat dark room acid techno : weird but controled
energy, sinister soundwaves, 3 AM disorientation....and a lot of driving stuff in the rhythm section to keep the whole thing rockin' hard.

Then you have «Shenyang Dark Sword  », a militant warehouse march straight from the T-800 factory, with an omnious synth droning over tribal-industrial percussions. Relentless machinery for the sickest dancefloors.

The french-russian alliance of Jauzas The Shining and Dmitry Distant provides the aftermath with some gorgeous, crepuscular electro, somehow reminiscent of the great early Warp soundscapes.

You know you're ready for something special when lord UMEK comes up with a one-tracker, and even the title on this one let's you know you're in for a manic ride. Sly bass sets the tone, under the tightly-wound rhythm section and flashy stabs make way for a cheeky vocal that takes the lead role. The busy drum edits keep the adrenaline levels high at all times and yet another page is written in production history, with UMEK's trademarked sound.

Another clash of the titans unravels as UMEK goes head to head with Pleasurekraft on this sly one-tracker. Led by huge chord stabs in a familiar progression, "Korea" is bound to be a household tune (no pun intended), also serving as an infectious ear worm. Don't let the melodic sensibilities confuse you, though. The stomping rhythm section blows everything to smithereens and trademarked vocal edits add the much-needed madness.

Olivier is no stranger to the perfect groove and here he delivers another lesson with the title track's evil bass doing all the talking, while indecipherable spoken word snippets and what can only be described as James Brown on crack go head to head with busy snares.

The almighty Filterheadz nod firmly to the sound that shaped their stellar journey and at the same time formulate the blueprint for the next page of their sonic evolution.The monstrous groove based on their custom tribal programming rips and roars over the rubble before their trademarked vocals kick in and remind us of who we are tuned in to. No Filterheadz anthem would be complete without an epic breakdown, and with this one we are definitely taken back to better days, courtesy of the ever-familiar lead.

underground what led to many releases on labels like Toolroom, BluFin, Tiger, Keno records, Treibjagd records and more.

The well known mallorcan artist Dani Sbert who's gaining allot of respect around the World and has contracts with major labels like Bosphorus Underground, Italobusines, Amazing rec, Neverending, Neurotraxx, capsula and many more is responsible for the remix on this one. The Original of 'Your are nasty baby' is a straight peaktime bomb. The rhythm is pushed by funky bleeps, floating vocals and some breathtaking noise. The Remix of Mr. Dani Sbert is even more some kind of bleek weapon for the early morning hours. Full of melting whispers, black haze surrounded by resonance.

this is a great track holgi gave to emerson during the last weeks and it truly is a hell of a tune, one of those you just hear once and remember ever since from then on..... it has this warm crisp feel, nice chords and a monstrous groove that makes the good looking girls wanna go crazy. i am sure you want to have that one in your crate just in case.... the sound is slightly more referring to the minimal/tech house beginnings of the micro.fon labelsound but still it perfectely adds up to the label's profile. included are two high class remixes by tim xavier taking more on the techy side of things and the digital exclusive rmx by mr norman zube who highly recommended himself with this years "mahori" ep on style rockets ltd. great package of beats! early support comes from kaiserdisco, umek & danny tenaglia

Myth Music, the label run by Lando and Baron Castle (Boiler Room Berlin) returns for their sophomore release, with another 4 track EP from Lando himself sporting no title other than the catalogue number 'MYTH002'. The record kicks off with 'No Matter (Where Are You Are)', which embodies the primitive hypnotising rhythms that Lando's releases in the last 18 months have been known for. Listeners are then dropped into the deep end, with the dubbed out, subaquatic groove that is 'Posse Form'. On the other side of the record (and the galaxy) you can find 'Abaraxas II', the new national anthem of utopian Neptune to close out the EP. Preceding this otherworldly communication however, comes the B1 'Insyde', which is somehow the hidden surprise on the record. To best describe this sweaty bassline workout it might be best to just quote DVS1... 'Lando has the funk!'

Staggering beats and heavy synthesis sounds by the New Rhythmic camp. NR014 is a strong VA by Ben Gibson, VSK, Kwartz and labelowner Joton. Not to be missed well produced techno.

GERMANY'S SASHA CARASI WITH AN EP FOR FERGIE'S REKLUSE.

Avian's first release in 2014 comes from the enigmatic Swedish duo SHXCXCHCXSH. Following their highly acclaimed debut LP STRGTHS, released last summer, the duo now returns with their fourth release for the label. The EP collects three staggering techno workouts with fragmented track titles in familiar manner.

The A-side starts off straightforward with VVVLLLLVVV's stabbing kick drum alongside an eerie melody that works its way through to the flip site. MRRRWRRRDS first embraces the listener with a warm, murky bass before falling into the fluttering beat that drives the track forward. Closer MRRRCHNNNN brings no ease with a restless pounding defining the tone for Avian in 2014...

Leftroom welcomes it's new 'Vinyl Only' White series. The first release see's the return of Geeeman and Mosca with their instrumental takes on Matt Tolfrey's 'The Truth' and Sweatshop Boys's 'Wide World.'

it seems that we have heard it all and it's partially true. But if you step outside of the system that links new names with the usual labels, then you will discover new artists. New artists who are already doing their part in the current techno scene, or who have just started to be part of it. These two artists are the example.
Techno as it should be!! PVS (already released on his own label H.omevvork and the prestigious M_Rec Ltd) has signed one side of the vinyl with 2 tracks. The other side is signed by the Spanish Hector Oaks, already highly appreciated as a DJ and as a producer, wherever he goes.
You have to listen to the record, everything else is just talk. Let's do it!

Guy Andrews first appeared on Pennyroyal's parent label Hemlock with Shades / Textures in 2011, two cinematic and reflective UK techno tracks that earned him a loyal student fanbase. He returned to the wavering imprint in 2013 with the pounding tribal thumper 'Resistivity' and has since released an EP on Leeds based techno label Fina because his ex-manager thought it would be good to "Keep things moving." Since then Guy has been busy developing a unique 'career portfolio' including composing for film and television, launching a niche specialist winter sports fashion line and lifestyle channel 'Curl goth' and more recently founding a peer-to-peer lending co-operative and crypto-currency for exchanging controversial facts surrounding the National Trust.

In-between these diverse activities Guy has channelled his inner spirit animal (Icelandic horse) to produce two monstrous yet boringly titled techno stormers: 'Ambient Track / Experiment 02' that are a natural fit for the Pennyroyal oeuvre/overdraft.

His epic sound design and signature attention to detail remain intact; this time bolstered by reinforced metallic drums and clipped distortion. Mastered by Sam @ Precise Artwork by Richard Dunning

The unstoppable Austrian dark techno king Niereich teams up with Hackler & Kuch from the Netherlands for a moody stomp through the outer sphere on this latest wave of Techno from Sydney label Darknet.

On the A1, "Do You Read Me" is a heads down, hypnotic synth ride with slamming beats, which the legendary Thomas P. Heckmann turns into an amped up, tweaked out banger on the flip side.

The second Original, "In The Desert Without Water" relies on textures and mesmerizing metallic bells to draw you in, while The Yellowheads remix strips it down a notch into a stumpy shuffle.

Russian producer Sanys has impressed with a series of raw techno records on his Downfall Theory label - and his latest release further showcases his talents.

'Dominance' starts with atmospheric synth washes before a granular bass and relentless percussion propel it forward. Like previous Sanys releases however, this is not straightforward linear techno and a rumbling vocal and insistent drums will keep the listener engaged. 'My Concern' sees Sanys opt for a different approach, with a pulsing bass and a crystalline synth line going up and down the scales, intertwined with a vocal snippet, while 'Told You So' features another stylistic shift. On this occasion, it's back to the darker sound that was audible on some of the earlier Downfall Theory releases. Tight, snappy drums and robust, insistent claps provide the basis for a droning, murky bassline that cuts through the arrangement like a lighthouse rays in the dark of night.

Finally, Irish producer Eomac, one half of Lakker, delivers a version of 'Dominance' that centres on lithe broken beats, ghostly melodies and insidious tonal shifts.

As its title suggests, 'Dominance' shows Sanys has become a master of the techno form.

"Patience" is Finitude Musics fourth release. Once again label boss Marcel Heese teamed up with d_func. aka Alexander Kowalski. Most people will surely remember his classics on labels such as Tresor Records or Kanzleramt. The Jeff Mills influence can't be denied on the A-Side. Remix on B-Side comes from up-and-coming Portuguese producer Lewis Fautzi (Soma, Figure) who has turned "Patience" into a 303-laden floorbomb.

Following his EPs 'Remember' ('Music of deep intrigue, cloaked in an atmospheric fog' - Resident Advisor) and 'When The Watchman Saw The Light', Gacha returns to Apollo Records with another contemplative and composed record, his debut album 'Send Two Sunsets'. Jacek Sienkiewicz is back. Drifting' is the artist's 5th full-length release and the second one on his
Warsaw-based label Recognition since 1999. His records were played and strongly supported by
renowned artists such as Sven Väth and Richie Hawtin; legendary producers like Ricardo Villalobos,
Uwe Schmidt and recently, Max Loderbauer collaborated with Jacek.

"Drifting takes its listener on a complex but still accessible journey to a state-of-the-art Techno
territory where Carl Craig melodies coexist with stark minimalism of Robert Hood, but they serve only as entry points for further exploration. There is no doubt - Sienkiewicz knows all of his roots yet he creates signature sound that results from his highly original approach to modern electronic music production. His new album can be seen as a personal diary that Sienkiewicz uses to invite all

33-10-3402, also known as Serbian-born artist/producer Nenad Markovic, returns to the ESP Institute for the third release in his opium den and whorehouse inspired Mecanica series. Slow Port is a cacophonous track, skillfully composed of an erratic barrage of percussive klinks and klanks as you might find in an automotive factory—pistons, gears, quips, cranks, but despite its industrial instrumentation, Nenad manages to extract a beautifully seductive quality from this beast. On Side B we're faced with the slightly more musical Plutonium Certainly, an exercise in distortion which is punctuated by repetitive androgynous chanting, and finally we culminate and release simultaneously with Elika, an overtly ethereal blur somewhere between hope and melancholy. To fully appreciate Nenad's crafted subtlety, we recommend repeated listening.

Metamorfoze is a psychedelic melting pot which can best be described as a train commute to a distant planet—our senses confronted left, right and center by unfamiliarities. Its counterpart on Side B entitled T Bov boasts a pseudo tribal rhythm, yet its post-apocalyptic soundscaping takes us anywhere but the expected. At this point Nenad has managed to whirl our imagination into a state of confusion so deep that we're simply at a loss for words. Its in these moments where we at the ESP Institute are most proud, with the birth of something absolutely new. Bravo Nenad, bravo.

Muscle and Mind is the return of Oscar Mulero to long plays, after Grey fades to Green and Black Propaganda. 'Muscle' and 'mind' may seem antagonistic terms in real life, but in terms of music they make sense together, especially when talking about techno.

The coalition of introspection and abstraction is not incompatible with the rough and the percussive, and this
album is a good example of this. The underlying message behind the title refers to the reflection of mental states in the body, the genesis of emotions where body and mind are managed by the sense of hearing.

Throughout these twelve tracks, one can dive into the musical world of this producer whose discourse mutates in every album, always intricate, always meticulous. Darkness acts as a thread and repetition as hypnotic therapy. But now, he sets his usual hard sound aside and looks for a much more cared for and precise sound , where there is room even for a harmony and musicality that go hand in hand with danceability.

The combination of atmospheres and rhythms is constant throughout the album. Each of the cuts has been prepared with few sonic elements. He takes elements away one by one, and keeps exclusively the necessary.

A record that has been developed during endless hours in airports and travelling, absorbing influences from all over the planet. Made in solitude but surrounded by people who don't know what you are really doing on that computer. To close the circle, the album was mixed in professional studio using solid state technology, which gives this work a unique warmth that cannot be achieved in a domestic environment.

Muscle and Mind will be released on vinyl and CD. The digital version will include extra tracks which will also be published in an EP. This will precede the album with edited tracks from the album and remixes by Stanislav Tolkachev and SHXCXCHCXSH.

Komisch welcomes Irish modular wizard DeFeKT to the label.

Having recently released a stunning EP for Rob Booth's Electronic Explorations label, Dublin-based producer, real name Matt Flanagan, drops three killer tracks on 'Below Ground', the nineteenth Komisch record.

Flanagan's mastery of hardware gear is audible from the get-go as "Chain Drive" as sparse kicks are married with drip-drop frequency tones and insistent percussion.

Uniting the primal ghetto urges of Mike Dunn and Robert Armani with the stealth-bomber precision of electro funk, "Chain Drive" is a peak-time cut that stands out from the crowd.

On "Move", Flanagan revisits similar territory, but amid the rolling 808s drops a bass so oppressive it makes Putin look a softie. When the acid break drops, the intensity levels are pushed into the red.

Finishing with "Down Here", Flanagan reveals a deeper side to his sound, but the dubby chord sequences are underpinned by lithe drums and clanging percussion.

DeFeKT may be underground but he's shooting for the stars.

Heiko Laux was one of the very first artists to grace the Rejected catalogue with his double-header "Mirabella / Zeitluke" back in 2008. Renowned for his emotional and powerful productions, Heiko is also the owner and driving force behind the legendary German imprint, Kanzleramt.

Hiver's demo reached me shortly after I had bought their debut release on Vidab. Since that's a label I tend to buy blindly, I hadn't heard it yet, so I found myself listening to both the demo and the 12" on the same night. I immediately fell in love with the analogue sounding deep techno of the Italian duo and asked one of my favourite producers - there is nobody with a better sound, period - to have a go at one of the tracks. Tobias. (Freund) totally nailed it, again. A very atmospheric piece that fans of Convextion/E.R.P. should definitely check out.

Few new techno artists of the past years gained as much momentum as Recondite. His atmospheric, driving, bleak tracks are techno to the core. But they are much more. They are not Techno about Techno, music reprocessing other music, but music about emotion and experiences. In dealing with themes like longing, nostalgia, romanticism and the general uncertainty of being human, the productions of the thoughtful Bavarian introduce a new range of issues and emotions. His music is widely available through many releases on renowned labels such as Ghostly, Hotflush or Dystopian, but it never reveals its mystery. It is charming, yet serious, it is beautiful but dark. It is the soundtrack for a perfect night out, and it reveals a profound insight into the abyss of the human experience.

With Iffy, his third album, Recondite tries to introduce a wider audience to his basic interest: the feelings and emotions that are hidden in the dark. Recondite does not present the arrangements and structures on a silver platter, but leaves room for interpretation. He is not interested in getting blurry or arbitrary tough. Managing to put his moods in a nutshell he does not need words or voices to allow people to relate to his unique personal experience.

The dogs indecisive expression on Iffy's front cover is the major key emotion, leading through the whole record. It is driven by conflicting moods and despite all commitment the outcome always remains open. But there is existential gravity in its core, which makes Iffy more accessible than Recondite's previous works and therefor delivers his idea in yet another - different robe. Innervisions being the platform for this piece of music promises to be the perfect fit as the ever emerging and highly respected Berlin record label's musical ideas and harmonic desires are nicely in tune with the bavarian producers output and personality.

The Lyon-based french label strikes again for its one year anniversary. In line with its characteristic sinuous way to explore the various side of the underground techno scene, the mysterious Clft Militia delivers this time a very functional and effective whack, with non other purpose than banging the dancefloors. There's a lot of techno out there but none of it sounds like Stanislav Tolkachev. In the past few years the prolific Ukrainian producer has molded his love for old school techno with enormous doses of experimentation and tension. The results have been incredible. His EP for M_Rec Grey Series ( Depth Of Light', released in 2013) grabbed everyone's attention thanks to off-key interpretations of fast and forward driving techno, reminiscent of the rave years. These are soundtracks to psychoses, filled at the same time with excitement and nervousness. Impossible to ignore. This second EP for M_Rec Ltd Grey Series 11 (titled All Night Vigil') opens with Vitamin K', a Vangelis-on-LSD intro where melodies get crooked and queasy while still delivering large amounts of feeling. That's Where the Dog is Buried' is an almost-ten-minutes trip where jazzy analog sounds become increasingly unstable, incited by a pounding bass line. You can play this track in its entirety and, for once, people will literally freak out. On the flip side, All Night Vigil' is much less playful. Tolkachev's signature build up of synthetic sounds is endlessly manipulated over a bed of very aggressive drums. These acid experimentations remind us of the Universal Indicator series on Rephlex, but in 2015 things got a lot more disturbed and wild. Closing the EP is probably the most dancefloor friendly of all the track. Titled The Chance for Both of Us', the cut revolves around an equally untamed acid refrain, although soundscapes and reverb grant it a beautiful sense of melody. Drum programming is kept raw and stripped down making the track perfect for the most unconventional and adventurous sets.
All Night Vigil' is a thrilling release of very experimental techno.

After a break of four years, Robot Ranch Records presents a new double ep from Ash Carr, artist and producer from Leeds (UK). The record includes three original tracks as well as three remixes from H.off.i, Schwarz Weiss and Freq Freq. The three original tracks represent an excerpt from Ash Carr´s creative period from around five years ago. Soggy Bottom, the basic and main title of this ep, appears unusually relaxed with it´s amusing constructed percussion arrangement and the powerful 808 kickdrum. The recorded deep voice vocals are hanging over the Soggy Bottom like a sword of damokles. It almost seems as if they were take the audience into the depth, alternating with short emerging acid bubbles. Safari and Something Fuzzy are more playful and even more relaxed and put the record to a cohesive overall picture leaving space for interpretation. The approaches of all three remix artists show off how different each one picks up the "red thread" with his needle and reentangles it into something "new". H.off.i`s A13 rmx put´s a simple recurring "beep" synth sound for the hookline over a shuffled rattle percussion beside the freaky robot voice in the break - all in a down tempo mood. Thereby he leaves his very own piece of cosmic disco. Schwarz Weiss with the clear sometimes stumbling structure and the reduced, snotty way creates a note reminding to early Areal Records (Ada,Basteroid...) from the 2000s. Last but not least, Freq Freq`s straight techno version of Soggy Safari merges the essences of two tracks into one,so that the full depth of the track becomes apparent only after repeated listening. MOS Recordings is proud to present its next album project, namely a debut solo full length from Chicago's Ike Release. Ike is an accomplished solo producer as well as being one half of acclaimed duo Innerspace Halflife with Hakim Murphy, and has a long and fruitful relationship with MOS Recordings.
For the last five years or so, Ike has been releasing a mind-expanding brand of analogue rich music that continues in his native Chicago's fine traditions without resting on the usual tired tropes. Labels like MOS, Machining Dreams and his own Episodes have released it to date and now this full length, Noir, comes as a fully formed artistic statement that lays out his sound in all its glory.

Says Ike of the LP... The aim with the album evolved since the time it was initially proposed. I was being pretty diligent about sending (the MOS boss) tracks I was working on, and really all I wanted to do was showcase who I am musically. 'Noir' is what came about in the end - the title plays into a theme that runs through much of my work, which Steven helped me identify.'

Across ten tracks, Ike unleashes his array of machines (Microkorgs, a machinedrum, MPCs, iPad Apps, cracked soft synths, borrowed Nord Leads, field recordings) and explores deep, textural house, ramshackle percussive grooves, the darkest corners of the galaxy and lots more besides. Opener 'Lost Cities' is an underwater rhythm with gloopy synths and stiff drum hits that eases you into the ride. From there, there's the raw, deep jack of 'Precipiate' with its soft acid line, the dishevelled house of 'Vapor' and the gluey synth layers and dreamy pads of 'Solace'.

'Faded' is a more subliminal and ambient interlude but then the second half of the album kicks again with the celestial soundscapes of the title track, which mange to sound both heavenly and yet aggressive at the same time.

Always managing to coax maximum feeling and atmosphere out of his tools, Noir is a true journey into the deep that will leave you feeling somewhere altogether different.

If there's one thing Jonas Kopp has proven over the last decade is that he can turn his hand to just about anything.

Since debuting on Prter's revered MindTrip Music back in 2006, the Buenos Aires native has managed to rack up a rich and compelling discography, coursing with ease through electronic music's various forms.

From warm Chicago house through to deep, dark and driving techno on labels like Deeply Rooted House, Stroboscopic Artefacts and more, Kopp's hypnotic and heady sentiment has remained the red thread throughout, which has allowed him to ourish as one of techno's more liberal dance oor purveyors. More recently, for Illian Tape he strayed out of the ring entirely to deliver two billowing, orchestral-sized ambient works; proof that there's still plenty more to come from someone already so well-versed and dexterous in his craft.

Red Plented EP weaves Kopp's discursive repertoire into a single and concise narrative, covering both familiar ground and exploring new and spellbinding territories, along with just a hint of cosmic neo-retroism that makes this a welcomed edition to the Tresor catalogue.

Despite having just a single release on the label so far, 'X' featuring on DJ Hell's 2013 Kern Vol.2 compilation, Kopp has been a rm xture at the club since 2011. Jonas Kopp is the next in line of contemporary luminaries that Tresor proudly welcomes to the fold.

'This ancestral bones' - title of the second release of the Berlin-based label Ownlife. It features two original tracks of Leiras and a remix by one of the key-names in the electronic music-scene, the multifaceted Peter Van Hoesen.
The record opens with a direct weapon. 'These Bones' combines the classic sound of techno with the actual vision of dance oriented music. Metallic sound melts over its gloomy atmosphere to a true profit for a dark clubsound.
'Diagram' is the ideal example for the characteristic, hypnotic sound of the label - with a hard-hitting rhythm, keeping the driving sound.
The B side completes the record with the remix of Van Hoesen. The different sounds of the original track intervene in a repetitive way, creating an incredible groove. The belgian producer illuminates the release, with a dreamy pad to an eigth minute long trip, what is the perfect end to this EP.

'Power' (Kalden Bess) is true to its title; this powerful song starts off with a throbbing bassline that is run through a synthesizer with a saw. The produced sound is similar to a harmonica, giving the nostalgia of the Blues. As the intro merges into the body of the piece, the intense drum track joins with vocals that serve as instruments. This versatile track will leave a tremendous impact on anyone who listens to it. It would be a perfect anthem for any large festival as well as club. Additionally, this would greatly appeal to filmmakers for action and speculative soundtracks. Videogame companies will be intrigued as well.

'Keep' (Simone Tavazzi) begins with a low bass drum that's soon joined with a synthesizer and high hat. The track is brought through a remixer and feels very circular as it builds up. A fusion of experimental noises complements a deep, echoing male vocal track. This haunting piece would appeal to a broad spectrum. It would be a great opener for any DJ's set, mellow enough to set the mood while the increasing intensity draws the listener in, preparing them for a great night out.

Pitched Black aka Irfan Rainy (Rainy City) from the rainy city of Manchester drops his new track on Modelhart. Already dropped two releases on his new sonic project and label Something In The Water. Irfan continues his dark assault on the sonic landscape of house and techno. Taking cues from Berlin, Detroit and Manchester, the release features the track 'When Stars Collide', a version for the dance floor and a beatless version for the more experimental minds.

As big fans of Red Axes, we're happy to welcome Niv and Dori to the label. Their first release for Hivern is Pil Sagol, a three-track EP that features some of their most adventurous material to date.
