Presenting a stylistically broader spectrum of kyoka's music the significant novelty of kyoka's first full length album »is (Is Superpowered)« is that she uses her own voice much more often than usual, in the form of short snippets as well as longer sung melodies. these elements are set and arranged as if they were an autonomous instrument. sometimes these voices give the impression of being a babelesque language mix-up, or even
a kind of cryptic message for the listener like found in the song »meander«.the production process of the record was heavily supported by her label mates frank bretscheider and robert lippok, which is, in this way of forming a production team, a unique
constellation in the history of raster-noton. whereas lippok ocused on preserving the roughness and complexity of kyoka's compositions, bretschneider concentrated on refining them regarding their fluidity and focus. both tried to keep the vitality and hyperactivity of the initial tracks without losing their distinctive eccentricity.although kyoka's sound is often kind of chaotic, it is by no means stressful but rather energizing and easy to enjoy. the only exception to this can be found in »piezo version vision«, the noticeably roughest track of the record. her particularly progressive style is best reflected by the song »re-pulsion«, a rolling groove combined with unusual clicks and snares and topped with crazy sounding voice fragments.the album thus further deepens what was already initiated with her first ep »iSH«, released as part five of raster-noton's unun series. it presents a stylistically broader spectrum of kyoka's music but at the same time exhibits the fresh and positive, sometimes even childlike attitude she is already known for. this eventually renders »is (Is Superpowered)« a perfect extension of our label catalogue.

Developer Archive 2 is a brilliant balance in light and dark featuring 4 solid deep tracks going further into the realm of modern day techno written and produced by Modularz label head Developer.

The speculation as to who is behind the project began after He/aT emerged last June with the "A Death In The Family EP", and was fuelled further on the release of the second "A Terrible Misunderstanding EP" in December. With this, the 3rd EP in the series, the waters remain muddy in that respect, but more importantly He/aT steps things up and drops the powerful "Don't Grow Up, It's A Trap EP".

The title track is perhaps the boldest dance floor track from the project so far. "I Was Young, I Needed The Money" follows, twisting He/aT's now trademark experimentalism with 4x4 techno. "These Are My Principles And If You Dont Like Them I have Others" is the brutal but intricate finale, and certainly up there with his most accomplished work to date.

Coming from his collaborative 12" with fellow mid-westerner Freddy Fresh (on our third release), Paul Birken's Acid Youth of Malibu is undoubtedly the most popular track on the Earwiggle discography to date. It is dare we say, a landmark track in Paul's glittering techno career, and as unique a piece of raw acid techno funk as you're likely to hear. Turn it up loud and just try to stop your shoulders moving uncontrollably; play it in a club to see bodies and faces react in all manner of unlikely ways.Picking three remixers was easy, the three biggest supporters of the track right Upon its release at the end of 2012, Blawan told The Guardian it was his favourite tune of the moment, Bas Mooy was similarly blown away and quickly signed Paul up to his fledging Mord imprint, and Truss... well Truss just loved it! Add Paul into the mix to put a new slant on his original, and we have four stunning (and varied) remixes by four of techno's supreme producers, all made with love !

Picking up where Open Water versions left off, the Habits versions EP is another techno inflected project which again allows a cross section of the Osiris roster to leave their own stamp on one piece of anonymous source material.

It's 6 tracks swing with a dark energy that showcases the rhapsodic gravitational pull of house music in even the most blackened and cloudy specimens. Gossamer sheets and bleeding pads of degenerating ambience coalesce with fine white noise and quilted kicks to bless-it-out and ultimately engulf the body inwards in ferrous dreams. Repetition turns to hypnosis, and as Waiting For Alexis staggers and flanges on its path like one of Villalobos' weird K tracks, and Melting and Josephine drip acid through the haze daze, material reality becomes that bit more viscid. The soundtrack is of milk and honey and weed and rot, each groove a dark fantasy coated in the dust of the building that just fell down next door.' Listen:

Asan has been making music for some time. He is geographically the closest artist to Lampuka Records, yet LAMP004 has taken us the longest to complete thus far. We had hoped this to be Asan's debut release but we were pipped to the post whilst he was on his travels. Gladly though we have what we think is a superfluous release...and well worth the wait. After last years spectacular return to our airwaves and the world of techno with the release of the excellent album From the Far Future Pt. 2, the Detroit veteran Terrence Dixon is back with a new release entitled the Giant Robot EP on Monique Musique imprint, while that enigmatic and experimental British producer Actress has been brought in on remix duties.

Another Dark Age captures the schizophrenic culture that exists in one pocket of the underground. This V/A release reaches across oceans and continents to connect music from four obscure projects. From Providence (USA) to Melbourne (Australia), ADA delves deep into the noise and experimental scenes of both cities. Form a Log is a trio of which Ren Schofield (AKA Container) is a member. Their twisted analog improvisations are as disciplined as they are chaotic. 'In the Streets' is a chugging percussive jam that winds its way to-and-fro, between noise and entropy. Phantom Selector, Victim and Carrier are artists who have released diverse music on cassettes under ever-changing monikers. Tortured vocals, eerie textures and cavernous kick drums represent the fleeting moods of these artists who may or may not produce material under these aliases again.

Following the great unspooling of 2013's Syndrome Syndrome, Gardland and RVNG Intl. step back into the duo's not-sodistant past with Improvisations, three live performances ripped from local Austrailan radio in early 2012. The aural impetus behind the artists and label joining forces, this triptych of tone lashed tracks captures the duo in exhilarating, uninhibited form.

An explosive caustic acid concoction awaits from within the grooves of this gargantuan twelve inch from Chicago heavyweight, Hieroglyphic Being. 'Free the Energy (No Vocal Energy)' is highly volatile, with severely unforgiving and distorted drum programming, this violently radioactive adventure is nothing short of brutal and certainly not for the squeamish. For the first release of Le Cabanon Records, Bruma presents Architect Method, a concept EP based on micro-modulation of pure tonalities and sculpture of full spectral signal density. By escaping of the academism, his research permitted him to develop his own vision of the phenomenon of repetition and variation. It has led to the creation of his own composition software. The finality of this sonic approach, manipulating the primary forms of electronic sounds, allowed him to create a rare electroacoustic ecosystem. A complex one, yet delicate and characterized by an abstract style that relentlessly flirts between science and poetry.
Composed during the winter of 2012-13, Bruma offers four avant-garde landscapes. Each of them merges the patterns of micro-dub, post-industrial fog, intimate and meditative electroacoustic atmosphere of an isolated mountain shed, traversed by Bore, the north wind.

Dusty Kid's third album is a cinematic experience of almost 2 hours listening conceived as a single piece of music, like a wall of bricks that strictly belong to each other to give the whole album a well defined story.The album, mixed by using few different vintage consoles and recording everything on a reel-to-reel tape in order to get a more alive and lofi result, moves towards a very underground feeling.There are no easy-listening melodies (don't expect in fact any "America" or "Lynchesque", any "Kore" or "Chentu Mizas") but it rather sounds like a saga of dirty, confused, delirious, sometimes bizzare and ridiculous, very dark techno moments.
"III" might remind of a noir-horror-fantasy movie to watch with eyes closed and where the listener is the main character who can play like in a 'shoot-em-up game made of many levels. The sinister calm of the opening, made of the leftfield acid ambient landscapes and industrial noises of the first 4 tracks, preannounces that something is going to happen and leads the listener into a further level of the game where entrance is initially restrained by a man at the door "He Won't Let You In".
Once got through listener is taken onto a further level and enters the "Leather Bears Cinematic Suite".The 5-tracks "suite" is a deep journey into the 90's techno with its first track "Doom" being an almost metallurgical hell as the listener climbs the stairs that will lead him into the main scene. From now on what the listener will see is just what he would expect to see there...the title of the "suite" says it all! "Pandemonium" and "Dark Room" really seem to drive the listener inside a wonderfully painted idea of what's going on in there.
As the listener takes the "Exit 12", that with its lofi and dark mix perfectly describes the feeling after a night spent in the "suite" and echoes of "Flashback" from the previous night still echoing in his confused and distorted mind, the journey goes even more deeply into the 90's techno. "Yota Wave" is in fact a skillfully grotesque recreation of a futuristic techno trance experimentalism of the early Plus-8 records. Level after level listener goes on in the game and while "In The Wood" sounds like a track recorded from the radio with a poor quality cassette, the triad "Prelude"-"Omega Y" and "Omega X" just seems to be a track coming out from another track which comes from another track like in a concentric way."Escape" follows in the same key as the previous triad with a flying ethereal athmosphere followed by a massive tribal anthem as "Idklip" explodes while the listener approaches the final level of the game."Ending", a simple pronounced piano note that lays on a tender carpet of soffused strings and far reverbs leads the listener to the light at the end of this journey.

Through the Waveform Transmission-esque 'Triton' or equally pummeling alien frequencies of 'Proteus', the influence of heyday Tresor basement sweat and strobes on the a-side never seems far away. On the flip, mysterious UK producer Bleaching Agent (Mira, Opal Tapes, Komisch) turns in a jittery broken beat rework of 'Proteus' that's full of piercing atmosphere, while the churning bass and loose playful rhythms of 'Thyone' offers yet another peak-time option. At the center of anything lies its core. Whether mechanical, organic, global, or human, the core presents an essence around which objects and systems unfold. This EP is the inaugural seed of the VRV concept. Four tracks here display varying degrees of aggressive, essential techno, with stripped-down elements containing measured amounts of grit, power and depth. The EP's use of tension and dynamics continues to propel the music forward, building to an epic finale, a great closer.

The first Bangers & Ash transmission of 2014 features remixes of Certain Creatures' collaboration with Ike Yard, "Sparkle", and Best Available Technology's "Bulldozer Rituals". We enlisted friends and like-minded souls to re-assemble these heaving, Ash-laden sonics into new and brutal forms: Samuel Kerridge of Downwards, Jahiliyya Fields of L.I.E.S. and our own Clay Wilson. Behavioral scientists discovered why watching a forest relaxes the mind while the sight of an urban jungle, no matter how intricate, stresses us out. A forest contains so many lines, triangles, etc that our mind immediately gives up on trying to see it all. This giving up is the relaxing effect.

In the city our eyes and mind keep on trying to see every line, square, rectangle, etc. Impossible of course, and thus: stressing. The same goes for Hiele's music which is a true aural forest of all music electronic. There's simply too much to hear: ambient, 808 jack, nineties IDM, Chicago footstep, glitchy bits,...

So, only two cerebral reactions possible. First, if not accustomed with electronic music, is to put the needle off the record after a few seconds into the first track, and to never give it a second try. Secondly, to sit back and let the ingenious compositions wash over you.

By the time you've been able to pinpoint a certain recognizable sound, Essential Oils, even more so than it's predecessor, has already moved on so much that it leaves you wondering if a new track has already begun or not. (This wondering, again, makes you lose the pace.) Most electronic artists would be able to make a full-length album with the material that Hiele uses in only one track. Yet, amidst all his frantic compositions, Hiele never loses his keen sense for sweet melodies and, yes, even danceable beats.

The album comes in a full color printed sleeve, with cover photo by Hildegard Hanssen and graphic work by Victor robyn. All tracks produced and mixed by Roman Hiele. Mastered at Dubplates & Mastering Berlin.

This Time Around is the long awaited follow-up to the succesful Probe album by Roswell Return. The original is a mesmerizing piece of minimal electronic music, heavily inspired by composer Steve Reich. More than 10 minutes of pure synth bliss. On the b-side Syncom Data take it into deep techno territory with a shuffling and ridiculously low-end remix that's both warm and unsettling at the same time. Deep basslines keep pushing everything forward, while the constantly rising church-like organ brings a nervous mayhem quality to it.

A Series Of Shocks" is the second solo album from accomplished Berlin based producer Tobias Freund.

Continuing his exploration into "non-standard" electronic music, and expanding on the rich sound palette charted in his first LP, "Leaning Over Backwards" (2011, Ostgut Ton), this new chapter presents 10 versatile tracks taking us ever further into the purist, evolving sonic world of Tobias. A warm wash of synthetics begins it all with opener "Entire", a lush synthesiser sequence with additional contributions from NSI.'s Max Loderbauer, the track casually flaunts the sheer depth of sound and sense of space awaiting the listener. Varied, playfully contrasting moods then follow, with great finesse and an ever-present attention to detail. Freund's live shows, where the use of either the Roland TR-808 or TR-909 has become an integral part, have clearly played a role in the development of the Tobias. sound manifesto, and a large proportion of "A Series Of Shocks" has the 4/4 structure at its "Heartbeat" - indeed track two takes this as its namesake, in a submerged and tense exercise. Exceptions to that steady throb are also a joy to be found, with the frenetic techno syncopations of "Testcard" offering an early moment of broken-beat hypnosis, and later excursions into breaks like the euphoric "Cursor Item Only" or the brash dub of "If" prove there are indeed complex systems at work. Reaching for more energetic zones, fans of classic Tobias. jams like "Street Knowledge" or "Dial" will be pleased to find several well-honed and on-target club tracks, like the textural "Instant", "He Said", or the more meditative, but no less visceral "Ya Po". Snaking, arpeggiated synth patterns are Freund's go-to tool to build paranoid, yet at once funky and complex moments of mystery. Repeat listening will reward the listener by unearthing even more subtleties beneath these undulating elements. For an album produced largely with machines, the end result is in fact anything but rigid; a multitude of dynamics breathe life into every track. Synth elements swim in tension, build and recede with grace, and intertwine themselves into oblivion. Warm, natural drums state their presence, but do not overpower, letting the sum of the parts create the power, rather than merely the kick alone. The resonant sting of "The Scheme of Things", matched with its smooth undertones illustrates this perfectly.

With clarity of sound and a conscious mind to allow each element its place, Tobias. has found a maturity and a true art in controlling the lively dance of the constituent parts. A master at the mix-down, everything gels; nothing is left in-concluded. This sense of togetherness continues until the very final bars of "Fast Null" leaving us in a suspended moment of wonder, and appreciation.

What becomes apparent is that this album carries not only sixty-one and a half minutes of inventive contemporary electronic music, but also decades of experience, knowledge and passion for an artform that can only grow through the work of activists such as Tobias Freund.

The Death Of Rave's fifth turn presents a lesser-heard aspect of L.A.-based producer, Delroy Edwards. Whilst best known for making bangers steeped in raw Chicago Ghetto-House for L.I.E.S and his own L.A. Club Resource, Delroy's 'Teenage Tapes' LP yields eight trax built with a similarly stripped-down approach, yet with altogether different results owing more to Minimal Wave, Noise, EBM, and Black Metal. Half of the release documents reel-to-reel and guitar pedal experiments recorded to tape while Delroy was at Art College, which he's been saving for the right release. The other half stems from more recent sessions on his SH-101 and drum machine that didn't quite fit in with his pounding DJ tools. Those nascent, freeform Noise pieces range from intense, bilious drones to vicious, combustible little buggers nodding to classic Prurient and The Haters, whereas the improvised, rhythm-driven cuts bear comparison with Liasons Dangereuses' EBM blueprints, the motorik momentum of Wold, and the obscure early '90s tape experiments of Tuning Circuits. Committed to worn-out tape in one-take shots over a number of years, it's all testament to the spirit of febrile spontaneity and disciplined dexterity consistent to Delroy's art, an aesthetic acutely at odds with so much anodyne dance music and manicured noise.

In the not so distant past, a certain Chicago house sound found it's way to clubs worldwide. A jacking house sound made up of anything producers could get there hands on. If you had a cool alarm sound, you could throw it under a 909 and watch dancers freak out. DJ Rafael's new EP for On The Prowl is a nod to that era. While he's not using an alarm as his tool, you'll notice the "in your face" style in which it's based upon. Some of you might know Rafael from his earlier Miracles Club releases for Cutters and Mexican Summer. This time around Rafael Fauria joins friend Brian Foote for some on the edge jack tracks which are both packed with acid and foot stomping percussion.

Edit-Select is the project of Scottish DJ Tony Scott and one of the pioneers of deep driven hypnotic Techno. Already confirmed with tracks like Bauer on Ostgut Ton or his own label 'Edit Select' Tony belongs to the best and most respected techno producers in the world. Nearly all of his techno tracks have been played and charted by all Techno DJ s. But that's was not the reason to sign the album 'Phlox". No, we really think the moniker Edit Select with all his passion for deep driven techno track is more than a perfect fit into our label philosophy. Tony s ability to design real hypnotic was already recognized from us for years now. So much the more we are extremely proud to present 'Phlox' a extremely doped mixture between emotional ambient tracks and very effective sci-fi tricks tracks moving to hypnotic monsters for the dance floor. We see as well a new Bauer version, one of the best techno tracks ever in our opinion and last glad our mate Dino Sabatini has contributed on track 'Survivors Of The Pulse' . Englishman Englishman Saul has had a busy 12 months - not only did 2013 see him release his debut
album as Close, an avant guard dance-pop project that called upon high profile collaboraa
tors like Scuba and Appleblim and landed on !K7, but so too did he make his debut in the
live arena at clubs like London's influential fabric. Of course, in that time he has also continn
ued to steer both his labels down various underground house, bass and techno paths, nurr
turing new talent and old heads alike.
Says the man himself... "I wanted the mix to represent how I DJ in the sense that the majorr
ity of my sets are made up mainly of my own, or my label's, unreleased or forthcoming
music. Hopefully this gives me something unique as DJ, not just as I play tracks that no one
else has, but also because they are artists and tracks that I love enough to want to sign, so
they really represent what I love about electronic music.

'With this in mind, I approached all my nearest and dearest for some tailor made exclusive
tracks. The result is hopefully a mix that rekindles the thing I loved about listening to mixes
20 years ago - that unknown aspect where each new track is a surprise. In a time when all
music/track IDs and myriad mixes are accessible at the click of a button, I hope this makes
for something a little more interesting.'

A symbiosis of two perfectionists who would like to surprise with something new and got lost in the deep widenesses of techno. Now, Zdenko Grbavac and Morgenklang let it come true and release their first record in common. The two tracks are technoid, impulsive and surprising at the same time. "Epos" comes out on top at the middle distinctivly. The track's baseline is remindful of the early 80's synthi pop and sounds in combination with the remaining parts like an unstoppable train. The track "Novum" is a monster of chord and pushes relentlessly. However the athmosphere creates a certain easiness and moves the audience in a dreamy state.

Having swiftly carved a niche for himself amongst the likes of Perc, Ben Gibson returns to Sect to deliver more of his brooding and engaging techno. There's a great emphasis on sound design and atmospherics in the two tracks on Quien Es, as ominous clangs and tense tones hang heavy over rugged drum workouts. "Ceased To Gasp" is the more industrial of the two, but still allows for a melodic slant in the cavernous echoes that define the track. "Remain" adopt a swirling, psychedelic approach to sonic decoration that draws you in just as it continues flooring you, like all good techno should. Highly recommended.

Smashing into 2014 comes the debut release on Cold Tonic from label boss Krystal Klear.

In the case of the A side 'Squad' it's about putting out a banger that sees Krystal Klear explore heavier dancefloor sounds, featuring an infectious bassline that slowly creeps in until it decides to grab you by the balls and punch you in the face. Don't miss out on the switch up at the end that brings things back down to earth gently.

On the flip, Tun Valve works as more of an eclectic DJ-tool, straddling the lines between spaced out disco sounds and dancefloor oriented drums designed for the big room.

Perc And Pig And Dan pick up techno where Samuel L.Session left it, only to make it even heavier with two amazing remixes of ''Four To The Floor'' - Perc's remix is a ''Radio Slave meets Chris Liebing'' moment of relentless techno, all about reverbs and echoes. This is another one of those tracks with a lot of small elements evolving slowly and becoming at some point so intertwined that anyone would just get lost in it. A mechanical beat made out of some distorted banging sound vaguely evocative of a drum that just goes as deep as techno goes, only to be somewhat softened by the subtle atmospheric waves from the original track that kind of drifted into the remix. A brilliant track, of a new purist kind.
As soon as this DJ-friendly track starts the tight production skills of the Spanish duo Pig And Dan can be recognized. It wanders into the realm of underwater funk and features a wobbling bass coupled with an almost gentle feeling, a peculiar aspect for a track that can undoubtedly be classified as a banger. A robotic rhythm is slowly unveiled in a very clever yet classic framework, with a long breakdown paving the way for an even bouncier beat. A nigh time slammer.

Despite refusing to stick to a single genre, Deft is one of those immediately recognisable producers, which is nice because it means we don't have to waste any time comparing him to anyone else. 2013 saw the Croydon man skilfully hopping from headphone to dance styles, often within a track, his signature blend of cinematic soundscapes and crisp, intricate percussion covering hip-hop, house, and ambient. What's more, his noteworthy contributions to the burgeoning UK footwork scene means the young producer can now count Mark Pritchard, DJ Shadow and Rockwell among his biggest fans, and boy does this boy have fans, check this Bandcamp review of his Project Mooncircle EP Voight Kampff:

Anything this magician puts out has a pretty good chance of getting you pregnant right in the good old music hole. Says it all really.

Emeralds opens with bubbling synths, building into epic space-station jungle juke with haunting toplines and heart-shaking bass. Cavernous electronic atmospheres introduce A Little Kiss, which interleaves percussion and stuttering bass with the incredible attention to detail we've come to know and love.

Octavia is a feisty younger sister to Loqux & Past, the Maya Jane Coles-championed hit from his Space Hardware EP; warm, headnod house joined by a SHOWER bass-line that roundhouse kicks its older sibling in the face for hogging the limelight. Maintaining the hyper vibes, Perky couples spiky footwork beats with slowly-evolving chords creating euphoric rises and falls, leading perfectly to the epic reflection of closing interlude On The Other Side.

All in all, Deft is an artist who continues to develop in awesome and interesting ways, increasingly able to balance striking dance music with immersive ambience. And finding his path with similarly ambitious labels like WotNot, there's a not-too-distant future where Deft no longer worries that it's always greener on the other side.

Cocoon Recordings very own "best of" series presents the next issue which is again simply called by
the number of the release-order. So it's number - nine' this time ("Neun"). Yep, you heard right, number
nine it is and another proof how fast time is passing while we listen to house and techno ;)

Sven Väth has choosen Chris Tietjen again to compile and mix the pearls of the last Cocoon
Recordings releases. Tietjen started as a young gung in Väths Cocoon Booking agency and
developed into a proper club-dj over the last years. He even released his first solo-12" on Cocoon
Recordings in 2012 which marked his final arrival in the techno-business.

Tietjens progression as a DJ is clearly noticeable here as he laid down a very elegant and smooth
overall mix. He delivered one of the best of his mix-compilations so far. He starts the journey with two
Matt John and one Minilogue track which creates a very moody and warm introduction. The transition
into the following part can be seen as a kind of "warm up" one would like to hear in a good techno-
club. Next in the mix are Adam Port, Popof (Animal & Me) and Nick Curly who step by step feed the
mix with more energy. From minute 22 onwards the mix starts to kick in and the bass-cabinets of your
speakers should defintely move stronger now.

Graffiti artist, graphic designer, music curator, DJ and producer, Richard Sen has been around the block and back several times. Now he comes up solo with the Ghost Train EP - a dark and brooding release of old school meets new school house jack. Taking inspiration from the late 80s NYC, British and Italian house records that exploded on our consciousness and changed many lives, Ghost Train is both a homage and totally new take on what club music is about. After curating the amazing "This Ain't Chicago: The Underground Sound Of UK House & Acid 1987-1991" compilation in 2012, Richard now shows how it's done. Taking those influences running deep and melding the sounds of a mispent youth into an EP that has been moving dancefloors from LA to Berlin since appearing late last year as a limited white label. Chugging, brooding, deep but with a low slung groove and (can you name them) samples underpinning the classic feel of Ghost Train and it's minimal sibling, Ghost Dub, the EP could end here and be killer. However, Richard shows his skill of soaking up his clubbing years in to new musical directions with Meteor Shower. Steppers kick, discoid bass and tranced out keys are go. Hype and demand has been interesting to see with support from Andrew Weatherall, Dominic Capello, Cosmo Vitelli, Mark E, Metro Area, Soft Rocks, The Glimmers and Trevor Jackson to name a few.

incredibly storming release. Both tracks are huge weapons that will pulverize any dancefloor! Special

After some young and talented debut artists on the recent Session Deluxe releases, we present now are real big package of three well known, famous and international accepted artists. It s time for some strong Scandinavian power, coupled with New York energy. Session Deluxe 038 presents a three tracker Ep, made by Mood Music Honcho and Vodka lover Sasse. He collaborated with his brother in crime Tuomas Salmela better known as Phonogenic. Alexi Delao, the guy from Brooklyn, New York, was responsible for the remix. Normally, we don thave to explain these artists. Each of them is a part of the techno-house scene for years. Sasse and Phonogenic are especially famous for their unique deep, soulful and catchy deeper house tunes. The all-rounder Alexi Delano, stands for releases on Drumocode, H-Productions, Truesoul, Plus 8, Minus and many many more. Techno and House are his obsession. So we can truly say: this is definitely one of the best combination we ever had, on Session Deluxe. Returning to the party like an unwanted family member, drunk, staggering and harbouring broken toys of acid and drum, Z O D I A C 4 4 lurches forward with it's second release of the 12 release run. ZPISC contains more of the acid goodness, all wrapped up in black vinyl for your private pleasure. Daniel Andreasson (Tabernacle, Autodidakt) fires up the 303 and lays down three tracks, all of which differing but still linked by the wiggle. Dockman John Heckle (Creme, Mathematics) does his meanest impersonation, locking the original up in a room of reverb and demonic voices. ZPISC is the second of 12 releases. One for each sign of the stars and then Z O D I A C 4 4 is forever dead and gone. Forever.

For its fourth release June Records presents London based Trenton Chase's debut E.P. The Vampire Of Sacramento ep consists of furious acid warehouse tracks, which were sequenced and recorded live on the MPC. Chaos comes to an end with the illusory closer, P.I.S.C.A.

'Morphology', a new collaboration from Finland consisting of Michael Diekmann who records under the alias CRC and Matti Turunen otherwise known as Näköradiomies. Morphology fuses early electro sounds with haunting melodies to create a deep blend of atmospheric future funk.

For the first one we propose 3 duo and a solo. Dustin Zahn & Tim Xavier deliver a huge techno ghetto ravey track, dweller, fitting perfectly for peak times in great deep warehouse. Leghau follow the ravey feeling with a bit more happy ingredients which could remind easily of some tunes from Joey Beltram or Green Velvet. D'Jamency & Oliver X proposed a mix of their unique way of doing tribal techno dance floor to a skryptom touch of rising sounds. To assert definitely, the skryptom will of a dance floor eclectism, Electric Rescue and Remain propose a more electro techno deep but not less groovy and dance floor vision.

Eomac is the solo project of Ian McDonnell who also makes up one half or Irish duo Lakker.

With a release under the Lakker name on Candela Rising last year, Ian is back on Candela Rising with 3 tracks covering different textures, designs and moods.

After an excellent year in 2013 for Eomac, with releases on Killekill and on Trilogy Tapes, 'Origin and Destination' see's Ian drop his first release of the year before his album later in the spring.

Despite making a impression with rough-hewn techno records on TAANSTAFL and his own Tallmen imprint, Brian Mitchell aka Tallmen.785 is a relative newcomer to the genre. Arriving in Berlin to continue studying jazz guitar - a craft he'd been learning in New York from legendary jazz musicians Ornette Coleman and Lawrence D. 'Butch' Morris - it was a long night in Berghain that steered him toward electronic music.
Mitchell hasn't altogether discarded his jazz learning, having successfully applied for and won a grant from Musicboard Berlin (www.musicboard-berlin.de) - an organization that allocates state funding for creative music projects - based on a his pitch for a new project in which the Kansas native plans to combine jazz and Delta Blues with the Detroit and Berlin sounds that have shaped his musical outlook as it is today.
'Mississippi, Detroit and Berlin share common stories to me because they have all seen, and still see very hard times and they have a strong musical history connected to folk music,' says Mitchell. 'When I listen to John Lee Hooker, I hear Jeff Mills and Robert Hood. One chord, maybe two, one foot pounding on a wood floor, sometimes at around 130 bpm. John Lee Hooker lived in Detroit for an extend period of time, worked for Ford Motor Company and somehow the machine funk that would later inform Drexcyia was already being investigated by Mr. Hooker.'
The 'Blues In Roots' series will take the form of three 12s released over the course of 2014, with an organic fusion of Mitchell's Delta Blues-inspired instrumental musicianship and the tough raw techno production he has mastered in his Tallmen.785 guise, creating a sound that traces a natural musical lineage from Berlin & Detroit all the way back to early 20th century southern USA. 'In the south, they had a wood floor and a guitar, in Detroit and Berlin they have synthesizers, samplers and drum machines. That is where these two seemingly divided worlds collided, and gave me the inspiration to make my music rooted in this specific angle.'

Not much more than a year has passed since the Zenker Brothers presented their debut EP - 'Lion in Mars' - on Tresor Records. The follow-up record segues perfectly between a triumphant year in the studio and in performance, and a 2014 which promises to take their growing reputation for blazing techno to new heights.

'Stratus Phunk' is an incendiary record, developing the ideas seeded in their first release to their fullest extent.

The title track runs along the entire A-side. Building the raw acoustic sounds of wind
instruments into a rolling jam which soon becomes an unstoppable locomotive, shape -shifting in and out of smoky synth lines, tracky hi-hats and acetic basslines, « Stratus Phunk » is a vintage tune forged in the Tresor basement furnace.

On the flip, « Thirty-Two » and « Vamp Like » explore the more splintered dimensions of the Münich based brothers' work, familiar to whoever follows the releases on their own Ilian Tape label.

Ben Sims' Theory imprint begins 2014 with Volume 5 of the V/A series 'The Box' in February, featuring contributions from Sandrien, Tripeo, MDL vs JR and Craig McWhinney.

Sims, fresh from mixing Fabric73, has curated the 'The Box' EPs since December 2008 and featured the likes of Phase, Hiroaki Iizuka, Ritzi Lee, DJT1000 and many more, so for the final 'Box' release Theory have something a bit special for you, 4 road tested club winners that have been getting serious attention all over, 3 of which are exclusives from Fabric 73.

First up, Dutch DJ/artist and Trouw resident, Sandrien, makes her Theory debut with 'I Left My Girlfriend At The Club' - a 909 and resonant synth fuelled cut which wraps the titular lyrics around a lean skeletal Chicago flavoured groove, Then the mysterious Tripeo drops 'Kienokki' and excels yet again with a classy, bleeping modern twist on golden era minimal techno (vinyl only).

MDL vs JR, otherwise known as Massimo Di Lena and Joseph Russell, turn in the tough and suitably raw drum assault that is 'Belmont', which has been in demand since featured in Bens much downloaded set from Detroit's 'movement' festival in May 2013 and last but no means least, Australian Craig McWhinney dives into the moody immersive textures and dubbed out after party vibes of 'Untitled (Re-dub)' to close out the EP in style.

Mid-paced, fresh 'n' funky electro gear on this eight track EP from Swedish artist, Obergman. All very nicely produced while maintaining the quirky factor throughout which results in an EP that gels perfectly from start to finish. Having first appeared on Luke Eagoggle's label Stillenben earlier in 2012 Abstract Forms quickly got in on the action, and once again Obergman doesn't disappoint, the funk is strong in Sweden.
