Med School Music veteran Bop launches his own label "Microfunk Music". The first release contains 4 minimalistic tunes, starting from the chill autonomic moods and the lovely nostalgic arpeggio of "Telescope" written by Bop and Synkro, moving to Nuage's fragile synths and luscious summer vocals, followed by a warm analogue bass in "Endless Green". In addition to these beautiful sounds, Microfunk Crew includes the more energetic, fit for the dance floor drum&bass with strong juke and ambient influences of "Crab Nebula". The EP is perfectly completed by Dissident with his kind and even slightly infantile soundscapes in "Design Yourself". This vinyl record is a great introduction to the label's unique sound. After a much needed break, the B1 puts you in an immediate trancestate lasting just a few minutes and before you know it you will be blasted into drum and bass land with ‘Tasteful Nudes’ closing out the EP.

The new batch from the bottomless edit archives of Danny Krivit is an uptempo, guitar-heavy excursion into two cuts of danceable rock from opposite sides of a decade.

“Marbles” originally came out late in 1970, the result of a collaboration between the fiery British guitarist John McLaughlin and drummer Buddy Miles. Miles was hot off his time with Jimi Hendrix, and producer Alan Douglas, who’d been instrumental in putting together the Band of Gypsys group, attempted another crossover combination with a brand new, blazing guitar god. Also on the date was Larry Young, an organ player best known for his expansive jazzy albums on Blue Note, and several veterans of Buddy Miles’ funk-rock combos. The resulting mixture produced in “Marbles” a powerful, driving rhythm anchoring an addictive riff that steamrolls through the cut in a fashion not unlike the motorik sound of Velvet Underground or Can. Mr. K’s edit leans heavily on the drums, naturally, with a long, tailor-made intro and a mesmerizing focus on the main riff, extending things well past the seven-minute mark.

Ten years later, the world of music was in an entirely different place but a good guitar riff coupled with a driving beat was still powerful currency on the dancefloor. This time, the group was Scottish new wave-punk group APB, whose single “Shoot You Down” had garnered unexpected peak time play in cutting edge NYC hotspots Danceteria, the Peppermint Lounge, the Ritz and the Mudd Club. “Shoot You Down” combines the urgency of the Clash with the free for all vibe that characterized the downtown scene (and throws in a chant borrowed from P-Funk for good measure). Mr. K has created a long instrumental opening that leads into the vocals, giving the tightly-wound 7-inch single a proper extended 12-inch treatment it deserved but never had before.

The sound is crisply remastered for club play, and stretched over the breadth of a 12-inch single. Both of these tracks are appearing on the long-format player for the first time.

Following his Interferenza cassette for Osiris Music, Berlin-based sound artist Adam Winchester returns with a new body of work that sees him embracing ever more forthright rhythms while adhering to his established lines of sonic enquiry.

With roots in the Bristol dubstep scene and a long-standing partnership with Christopher Jarman in Dot Product, Winchester has spent the past few years investigating alternative methods of sound generation that deal in hidden electromagnetic frequencies and spectral tones found lurking in circuitry. Bringing these extremities back to a more structured focus, Muutto is a highly personal work that captures the period of transition as he moved from Bristol to Berlin.

While the finely sculpted tonality and artful distortion of his recent work is plain to hear throughout, Muutto is also grounded in arrangement and melody, weaving a tangible narrative that pivots around steely rhythmic architecture, nodding to his roots in club music without expressing anything explicitly 'dancefloor.' Even at its most physical, as on the weighted march of 'Hold,' the emphasis is on atmosphere and mood, no matter how heavy the drums fall. In the distant murmurs of pads and poignant vocal threads, the bittersweet emotional backdrop to the record comes through in abundance.

There's space afforded for the more avant-garde tendencies in Winchester's music too. 'Metaphors' is caked in guttural feedback that comes on like a particularly noisy Albini studio session strapped to a chassis of the swampiest blues rock lurch you're likely to hear all year.

In its needlepoint detail, broad scope of sound palettes and potent expression, Muutto is an accomplished offering, but more significant is the way these facets are bound together by immediacy and form that transcend the freeform experimentation many of Winchester's traits are drawn from.

'a quiet RIOT' is an electronic music label based in Livingston, Scotland orchestrated by Nomad and is the sub-label of the highly renowned 'RIOT Radio Records.'

Since 20th February 2015, Nomad has run his own very successful fortnightly internet techno radio show called the "RIOT Radio Show.' Each show has a resident warm up set then a further hour with a wicked guest, the majority of whom are among the world's top electronic artists. The show gets thousands of listeners on each transmission with every set recorded exclusively for it. You will not hear them anywhere else.

A hoard of very well-known and simply stunning acts always feature on the show along with a whole host of very talented local music makers.

The Frankonia (EP) is the result of the collaboration between Nils Weimann and Martin Glowacz, which started many years ago.
Side A serves two different, powerful tracks. Frankonia comes with warm atmospheres and spaces. Driven by the interaction of bass and synth lines, wrapped in some subtile delayed textures.
Lower has a rollin bass structure, combined with smashing vocals and surrounded by resonating marbles.
Side B belongs Paul Agripa's interpretation of Frankonia. (He's also known as a part of Comoji.)
The remix takes you on a 13 minutes trip, carried by a harmonic baseline, extended spaces and melodies. Play it loud! Support by Cezar, Sedee, Vlad Arapasu.

Instant is the trio of Bernd Schöll (Bass, Vocals, Rhythm), Mike Hauer (Guitar, Synth, Percussion), and Marion Siekmann (Vocals) from Munich, Germany. They formed in 1980 after meeting through mutual friends attending the local art and graphic design school. The trio were dissatisfied with their surrounding musical environment. Inspired by the Velvet Underground, Kraftwerk, and Giorgio Moroder, they set out to create their own brand of Neue Deutsche Welle fusing Dada, disco, and Krautrock.

Over the course of 2 weeks in Summer 1980 the band teamed up with local producer Mario Strack to record 6 songs. These would make up their debut eponymous album that was originally self-released on 10' vinyl in 1981. They utilized a simple set up of guitar, bass, and keyboards, plus the BOSS DR-55 Dr. Rhythm drum machine. Metal scraps clanging appear on the tracks 'Do Not' and 'Optimate Minimum', and a washing machine was sampled on the track 'Joyboy', which features Marion reading from the appliance's instruction manual. The A-side features 4 tracks in 11 minute, while the B-side hosts 2 songs in the same stretch of time. 'Charade' features no wave saxophone accompaniment from Kai Taschner of Munich New Wave band Luna Set. Marion's vocals are between Nico's Teutonic chill and Alison Statton's (Young Marble Giants) playfulness, while Bernd takes a monotone approach. Lyrics for 'My Boy' and 'Everybody's Gotta Mutate' were adapted from 'Rotwang', a fragmented novel written by Tim Hildebrandt, one of the brothers famous for illustrating the works of Tolkien.

All songs have been remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The vinyl comes housed in a replica of the original jacket design, which features a neon red screen-printed drawing of a cut-out doll family on a stark white background. Each LP includes a postcard insert with lyrics.

"Mighty Vertebrate" is the International Anthem debut from Anna Butterss (2024). The Adelaide-born bassist/composer has been a first call for LA tour and studio work since relocating there in 2014 - racking up credits with notables across the experimental, jazz, and pop worlds alike - but their most notable contributions to the burgeoning LA scene have been as a member of both Jeff Parker"s ETA IVtet and rising proto-trance supergroup SML, who Pitchfork says "represents the thrilling next phase of a vibrant L.A. community."

It feels like a lifetime ago that the first Rat Cage demo tape was spat into the Hardcore Punk underground. Maybe that’s because for the past 10 years Bry Suddaby has been relentlessly chucking out a slew of pummelling records, arming many Punks worldwide with a soundtrack to survival in the modern age of death and destruction.
Fourteen bloody releases later, the third RAT CAGE LP comes crashing in as the state of global horror reaches a grave pinnacle. In true RAT CAGE fashion, the drums relentlessly hammer away under rollercoaster riffs, while Bry’s viciously cynical bark spills the trials and tribulations of trying to get by in 2026.
For the uninitiated, RAT CAGE pulls influence from 80’s Northern European Punk like MISSBRUKARNA or APPENDIX, contemporary Swedish sweet spot Hardcore like HERÄTYS or FYFAN, ripping USHC ala POISON IDEA or OUT COLD, while naturally adding a classic British injection of GBH or THE VARUKERS.
As always, there’s the constant apprehension that you never quite know what’s around the next bend, and with ‘Not Asking for Much’ Bry has cast the net even further. T-Spoon is a Dutch Eurodance project founded in 1991 by rapper Shalamon Baskin (known as Shamrock) and producer Remy de Groot (known as Prince Peration). They had multiple hits in the UK, Australia, Canada, Israel, Ireland, Scandinavia, South America, and, of course, their home country, the Netherlands.

The group released its debut single, “No Time To Waste,” in 1993, which became a European top‑10 hit. In the years that followed, T‑Spoon scored a series of international successes with tracks such as “A Part of My Life,” “Where R U Now" and “Take Me 2 the Limit.”

Auf der sechsten LP von Radiator Hospital, ,Distorting Time", spielt Sam Cook-Parrott nicht mit Nostalgie - er geht ihr aktiv aus dem Weg. Im Laufe von fünfzehn Jahren hat er RH von einem Solo-Projekt, das er in seinem Schlafzimmer aufnahm, zu einem vollwertigen Rock-'n'-Roll-Quartett ausgebaut, wobei er am Rande des Mainstream-Erfolgs blieb und sich gleichzeitig einen Ruf als echter Außenseiter der DIY-Szene erarbeitete. Die Veröffentlichung von ,Can't Make Any Promises" im Jahr 2023 brachte Sam an eine Art Scheideweg - doch er war entschlossen, keine Zeit mit Rückblicken zu verschwenden, sondern stattdessen nur auf das zu blicken, was vor ihm lag. Aus heiterem Himmel wurde Radiator Hospital Ende 2025 eine Tour angeboten, was Sam dazu veranlasste, seinen Ansatz zu überdenken und das Gewebe seiner bisherigen Arbeit in eine völlig neue Form zu verwandeln. ,Ich beschloss, etwas Neues live zu probieren, was ich noch nie zuvor gemacht hatte: Ich nahm meine Begleitmusik auf einem 4-Spur-Kassettenrekorder auf und sang dann einfach dazu", erklärt Cook-Parrott. ,Distorting Time" - seine erste Veröffentlichung bei Lame-O Records - besteht aus 13 Songs, die bei Sam zu Hause auf einem 4-Spur-Kassettenrekorder aufgenommen wurden, mit zusätzlichen Elementen, die im Uniform Recording Studio von Jeff Zeigler in Philadelphia eingefangen wurden. Die Songs wirken gleichzeitig sanft vertraut und doch auffallend eigenständig; sie nutzen die Grenzen des 4-Spur-Setups aus und lassen sich gleichzeitig von Bands wie Young Marble Giants und Tall Dwarfs inspirieren. Thematisch beschäftigen sich die Songs mit dem seltsamen Gefühl des Vergehens der Zeit, insbesondere aus der Perspektive eines Künstlers und seines Schaffens.

Fear Is The Key is a 1972 British action flick directed by Michael Tucher starring Barry Newman (Vanishing Point) and Suzy Kendall, based on Alistair MacLean's 1961 eponymous novel. The film is probably best remembered for its spectacular and lengthy car chase sequence, which necessitated a ten-minute plus action cue that demanded split-second timing so that each bar would blend perfectly with the chase sound effects. Realizing composer Roy Budd was just 25 years old when he recorded this score, makes it all the more impressive. Fun fact: this is the feature film debut of Sir Ben Kingsley so make sure to give it a whirl, especially if you're into hard-driving British jazz. In any case, this soundtrack too will surely satisfy fans of the jazz-funk and library music found on labels such as KPM and Music De Wolfe.

To celebrate the Ellis Dee Month we have repressed Ellis Dee Project Part One, a release that is iconic within the rave scene and one we are always being asked for. Originally put out in 1992 as a self-released 12" by Roy himself, we repressed it for him back in 2019 on black vinyl, that pretty much sold out straight away via Kickstarter, which is how we use to press releases back then. There was a very small repress a couple of years ago on a marbled grey vinyl, but again, that sold out straight away. Grab fast as they will sell out!

Baratro was born when Fede (Council of Rats) and Dave (Unsane) met at a show in legendary Milan squat Cox18 and started to trade riffs and song ideas. After a while they decided to shape these experiments into a proper band and got Luca (Marnero) behind the drumkit to complete the line up.
After a few months of practice and a couple of shows in Italy, the band recorded their very first six songs in the empty concert hall of Cox18, which were later released as the “Terms and conditions” EP via Sangue Dischi records (July 2021).
Given the worldwide shutdown of live performances through 2020/2021 the band focused on writing new music, and in August 2021 they started tracking down their first full length effort, “The Sweet Smell of Unrest”, which was released February 2024 via Improved Sequence.
In 2024 Baratro joined forces with cellist Matteo Bennici to experiment as a quartet, both for composition and live. With this new formation and new found chemistry, the band simply let the dynamics and trust in each other shape the outcome of the music.This new creative process led, about a year later, to the recording sessions of their second full-length “No comply”, to be released by Supernatural Cat.

Sub Pop und die Noise-Rock-Größen Chat Pile aus Oklahoma City bringen eine limitierte 7"-Single raus, auf der zwei Studiotracks drauf sind: ein brandneuer Song und eine coole Neuinterpretation des frühen Nirvana-Songs ,Sifting". Die zweite Pressung der Single kommt auf "BLUE MARBLE" Vinyl, solange der Vorrat reicht. Sub Pop ist total begeistert, dass Chat Pile uns mit diesen beiden großartigen Songs beehrt hat, und wir könnten nicht glücklicher sein, sie in die Liste der Größen aufzunehmen, die eine Sub Pop 7"-Single veröffentlicht haben. Die Band hat uns freundlicherweise ihre Sichtweise zu dieser Veröffentlichung mitgeteilt, also lassen wir sie selbst weiter ausführen! ,Es ist ein wahr gewordener Traum, eine Single bei Sub Pop zu veröffentlichen, und unser neuer Song ,Masks" wird hoffentlich dem Geist der mythischen, manchmal mystischen Stadt Seattle gerecht. Zum Teil dank des Films Hype sind wir schon lange von Seattle, der amerikanischen Underground-Szene der späten 80er Jahre, Sub Pop und ihren Werkzeugen zur Weltherrschaft fasziniert. Alles, was wir über das Packaging von Chat Pile gelernt haben, haben wir von den Sub Pop-Gründern Jonathan Poneman und Bruce Pavitt gelernt. Wir wollten einen Song aus der frühen Sub-Pop-Ära covern, und etwas aus Bleach schien die naheliegende Wahl zu sein. Songs wie ,Paper Cuts", ,Negative Creep" und vor allem ,Sifting" sind ziemlich ähnlich zu dem Sound, den wir mit Chat Pile machen. (Vielleicht nehmen wir uns das nächste Mal einen Song von TAD vor!)
