Oh No helped shape the texture of modern independent hip-hop, introducing the world to his turbulent lyricism with the 2004 Stones Throw classic The Disrupt before establishing himself as one of the world’s most dynamic beat architects. Ranging from soulful to sinister, hypnotic to chaotic, Dr. No’s psychedelic production has become a vital force in hip-hop, bringing the best out of artists like Mos Def, Action Bronson, Prodigy, Murs, Dilated Peoples, Danny Brown, Elzhi, Your Old Droog, and more. The California native has also released several acclaimed sample-themed instrumental collections, mining Mediterranean psyche funk, the work of jazz icon Roy Ayers, Italian library music, rare Ethiopian grooves, and more. Now, Oh No is back with Nodega, his first vocal album in more than a decade. Conceptualized as a corner store where microphone assassins stop through to lay down their street tales, the project finds Oh No cooking up a fresh batch of wild creations as the drama unfolds. While contributing a handful of memorable verses himself, Oh No mostly focuses on crafting soundscapes for a staggering array of guests, including Logic, Ghostface Killah, Talib Kweli, Tha God Fahim, Alchemist, Guilty Simpson, Blu, Crimeapple, Rah Digga, Esoteric, Vic Spencer, Wildchild, Big Twins, and more. “I work with some of the most dangerous emcees in the game,” he explains. “I wanted the album to be like a hip-hop play, with all these different geniuses showing how they steal the scenes.” This concept is brought to life by music Oh No describes as a “cinematic landscape ranging from dark stabbing pianos to melodic jazz interludes, raw gutter loops to funk grit, dirty synths to nighttime thrills.” A visceral experience elevated by immense collective talent, Nodega is a compelling one-stop shop for Oh No’s expansive artistry.

Ston Elaióna is John Also Bennett’s first album for Shelter Press since his 2019 solo debut Erg Herbe. The American born, Athens, Greece, based flautist, synthesist, and composer weaves a strikingly singular electroacoustic excursion for bass flute and Yamaha DX7ii, largely recorded in the golden haze of the early morning hours - bending time at the otherworldly juncture of consciousness and place. Translating from Greek as “in the olive grove”, Ston Elaióna is permeated with the ambiences of the ancient and present world, guided into form by a playfully rigorous approach to sound.
Initially emerging during the mid 2000s as part of Columbus, Ohio’s noise scene, before relocating to NYC around 2010, Bennett’s diverse activities picked up an increasing sense of pace over the following decade - performing and recording as a solo artist (JAB), with the trio Forma and with CV &JAB, his prolific duo with his partner Christina Vantzou, as well as playing in Jon Gibson’s ensemble among many other multifaceted collaborations. However, since 2020 the flautist and electroacoustic composer has existed in a semi nomadic state: drifting between Brooklyn, Brussels, extensive tours, and Greece, where he finally came to rest in Athens last year.

Drawing upon a carefully honed attentiveness to the environments and experiences of everyday life, Ston Elaióna is a suite of nine pieces (with an additional track exclusive to physical formats), many of them composed and played live as the early morning sun touched the Parthenon, in full view from Bennett’s studio window in Athens. Bennett’s refinement and restraint, honed over his years adrift, led him to adopt a limited palette focused on his primary instrument, the bass flute, and a Yamaha DX7ii synthesizer tuned to just intonation scales. Alongside a handful of other keyboards, digital oscillators triggered by his flute, and occasional field recordings, this simple palette is reflected by the deeply emotive sense of minimalism that permeates the album’s two sides. Following two solo albums defined by outward facing temperaments - 2022’s Out there in the middle of nowhere (Poole Music), which used a lap steel guitar and generative oscillators to evoke the surreal landscapes of the South Dakota badlands, and the largely synthetic atmospheres of the 2024 anthology Music For Save Rooms 1 & 2 (Editions Basilic) - the shift in Bennett’s worldly circumstances offered an intuitive return to the calm, inward states of creative exploration that have historically defined JAB’s sound. In parallel, context provided clear sources of inspiration for many of the album’s themes, as well as sources for some of its sounds. The aura of Greece, from the ancient to the present, from its stones and olive groves to its traffic, figures heavily across Ston Elaióna’s two sides. John Also Bennett’s Ston Elaióna forms an elegantly rigorous world of electroacoustic sonority, bridging the expanse of time with the immediacies of environment and happening in the here and now: a profound sonic mediation on the countless dimensions unlocked by life in Greece.

Claude VonStroke makes long-awaited Crosstown Rebels debut with ‘Noche Clara’, featuring Honeycomb. A full-circle moment between two house music icons finally comes to fruition, with the two-tracker out on 5th December 2025.

Two decades after label founder Damian Lazarus first booked him to play in the UK, American electronic icon Claude VonStroke finally lands on Crosstown Rebels with ‘Noche Clara’ - a release that bridges friendship, history, and the enduring spirit of the global underground. Built around hazy tones, captivating synth melodies, and sweeping atmospherics, ‘Noche Clara’ captures the playful minimalism and late-night atmosphere that defi ned his early work. On the flip, ‘Bam Bam’ layers warped vocals over a trippy off kilter sonics and a tunnelling, hypnotic groove, providing a haunting and commanding deep dive into the late-night hours. A collaboration with beatboxer, producer, DJ, and instrumentalist Honeycomb, who recently toured with The Floozies and Dirtwire, the link-up came naturally following a joint appearance between the pair at California’s infamous Zenyara, plus multiple Dirtybird festival appearances and more.

A true maverick of modern dance music, Claude VonStroke has spent over two decades shaping the sound and culture of house. From founding the iconic Dirtybird label, home to artists like Fisher, Eats Everything, and Catz ‘n Dogz, to headlining the world’s most respected clubs and festivals, his legacy is built on connection, humour, and an unfiltered love of the dancefloor. Now exploring more underground and experimental sounds, VonStroke is entering a new creative chapter ahead of his forthcoming artist album in early 2026 - a shift perfectly exemplified by this impressive debut on Crosstown.

AF1268 is thrilled to welcome Nikol, the rising soundscaper from Manchester, for its third release. After making his mark on various outings for MASS, his own label, and O.C.D., this installment sees him deliver his first solo EP in full force. Across four meticulously crafted tracks, he chisels his own path through modern minimal and electro, honing his eerie yet hallucinatory sonic signature.

This EP unfolds like a spectral journey where Halloween meets tech-house—haunted by ghostly high-pitched whistlings, piercing acid stabs, and hypnotic rolling basslines. It conjures the image of a sweat-drenched, crumbling club cave under a rainy full moon, where bodies sway in slow motion, lost between dreamlike introspection and raw, unhinged grooves.

These tracks were produced by Ori Lichtik between 2006 and 2017.

Minisex: Kult-Album "Ayo" erscheint als limitierte Vinyl-Reissue am 05.12.2025 - remastered, farbig & rechtzeitig zum 70. Geburtstag von Sänger & Mastermind Rudi Nemeczek

Ein Klassiker des österreichischen New Wave feiert ein Comeback auf Vinyl: Am 5. Dezember 2025 erscheint das gefeierte Album "Ayo" von Minisex in einer remasterten 1LP-Reissue - limitiert auf eine exklusive Auflage und gepresst auf red-marbled Vinyl.

Ursprünglich 1984 veröffentlicht, zählt "Ayo" zu den musikalischen Meilensteinen der Bandgeschichte und enthält einige der größten Erfolge der österreichischen Kultband - allen voran die Songs "Rudi gib Acht" und "Eismeer", die bis heute Genre-Fans und Nostalgiker gleichermaßen begeistern.

Der Reissue-Termin könnte passender nicht sein: Nur wenige Wochen später, am 23. Dezember, feiert Rudi Nemeczek, Sänger, Songwriter und kreativer Kopf hinter Minisex, seinen 70. Geburtstag. Die Neuveröffentlichung ist somit nicht nur ein audiophiles Sammlerstück, sondern auch eine Hommage an eine zentrale Figur der österreichischen Musikszene.
Die LP erscheint in begrenzter Stückzahl. Wer sich ein Exemplar sichern möchte, sollte schnell sein - Ayo ist zurück, und zwar schöner denn je.

Anfang 1996 veröffentlichte The Wedding Present "Mini" über Cooking Vinyl Records, eine EP mit sechs Titeln, deren Songs alle einen Bezug zum motorisierten Fahren hatten. Fast dreißig Jahre später hat David Gedge dieses Konzept wieder aufgegriffen! "Maxi" enthält sechs weitere Stücke, deren Titel/Inhalte sich alle auf diese Thema beziehen. Maxi erscheint über Clue Records und folgt kurz nach der Veröffentlichung von 40 - der Zusammenstellung, die den komplexen und faszinierenden Katalog von The Wedding Present in einem Box-Set mit vier Vinyl- und/oder vier CDs widerspiegelt. Der letzte Titel der Compilation ist "Hot Wheels" - ein Song, der nun auch auf Maxi zu finden ist, zusammen mit fünf weiteren Stücken. Obwohl Maxi dem gleichen Konzept wie Mini (1996) folgt, klingt The Wedding Present 2025 deutlich größer. Dies ist wirklich eine Band in ihrer kreativsten Phase, die sowohl die Grenzen ihres eigenen Stils/Sounds als auch die Erwartungen der Zuhörer erweitert, während die Texte auf provokative Weise Bilder zeichnen, wie es nur David Gedge kann. "Wie ich in meinen Sleeve Notes zu 40 gesagt habe, wurden die Songs, die wir für Maxi aufgenommen haben, relativ schnell geschrieben, weil ich mich besonders inspiriert fühlte, sowohl textlich - durch Situationen in meinem Leben - als auch musikalisch - durch das Schreiben mit der damals neu hinzugekommenen Rachael. Die daraus resultierenden Tracks wirken größer angelegt und stimmungsvoller als alles, was wir seit langem gemacht haben ... und sie sind dank der neuen Rockqueen von The Wedding Present und ihrem Arsenal an Gitarren und Pedalen auf jeden Fall temperamentvoller!" Limited to 500 copies Side A/B is solid red vinyl and side C/D is solid green vinyl. Track listing is different to the CD and digital. ‘Harmonics of the Night’ is the third in what he conceived of as a trilogy of recordings from guitarist Andy Summers. Following on from ‘Metal Dog’ and ‘Triboluminescence’, ‘Harmonics of the Night’ began its life as a guitar improvisation for a museum installation of Andy’s own photos. He did not like the music they had chosen in the gallery so sat down and recorded some guitar improvisations. Summers says that he built this set out from there. These songs and the photos that inspired them have become a staple of his solo guitar shows. Stand out tracks: ‘A Certain Strangeness’, ’Harmonics of the Night’ and ‘City of Crocodiles’. The music for Harmonics of the Night came from a real-life situation, which was the occasion of a retrospective exhibition of my photography at the Pavillon Populaire in Montpellier. I was able to visit the museum in advance of the opening and decided this time (instead of the usual unsuitable music being played by the whatever gallery!) that I must make a music installation to accompany the photography on the wall, a piece that could be looped and thus provide a continual musical counterpoint to the visual. I made a twenty-minute single guitar improvisation, A Certain Strangeness - This piece put a certain approach in my in my head and pointed me in the direction of eleven more tracks. These pieces which vary from minimalist approaches to African influenced dance pieces and are what I consider the sonic parallels to the photography.

Honey Badger Records is pleased to announce the release of its 19th EP, NOLOVE EP, marking the label debut of Seoul-based producer and DJ, Nolove.

Recognised as an active presence within Seoul’s underground dance club community, Nolove has steadily built a reputation for her distinctive style and energy on the floor. On NOLOVE EP, she presents four original tracks shaped by the current momentum of the club scene—where minimal, crystalline synths and tightly woven percussion come together to form a sound that is unmistakably her own.

After a long hiatus relatively speaking("8" and "9" came out in April 2022) Prins Thomas drops his 10th studio album.

Picking up where the last record ended, it's an introspective but celebratory and uplifting affair. One-man-band jams
turning into mini epics, like coming up for air or seeing the bright lights at the end of a long dark tunnel.

Pianist and singer songwriter Tilda Gebhardt creates a curious and immersive world on her debut "Come the Afternoon", a tender portrait of her upbringing in the bleak yet beautiful north west English countryside.

Telling tales that take us back to a 1936 premier of Swing Time, or inside a telescope where a man named Ernest lives, via the vast plains of the Australian desert - Gebhardt's unusual combination of playfulness, storytelling and profound reflection is carried along by her crystalline voice, and acrobatic piano.

Inspired in turn by the magic of moving images and nature, "Come the Afternoon" is like a collection of miniature films, chronicling Tilda's adventures on the fells of the langdales, hiding in the heather on the Trough of Bowland, and exploring the fields and valleys that surround her home in Lancaster.

Sounds like: Joni Mitchell, Liza Minelli and Joanna Newsom picking cockles in Morecambe Bay.

Introversion delivers a powerful five-tracker on FJAAK's CROWD with 'Ghost Rockets', pushing his signature blend of gritty textures, stripped-down rhythms and emotional weight even further. Known for fusing 90s-rooted techno with contemporary clarity, Introversion opens the EP with 'Lights', a track that rides a relentless hardgroove rhythm before lifting off into an epic, melodic climax made for big rooms and peak-time moments. The title track 'Ghost Rockets' follows with the unmistakable CROWD signature: rolling, minimalistic grooves anchored by Detroit-inspired synth stabs and tense, driving percussion. On the B-side, 'Visitors' starts deep and atmospheric, slowly morphing into a propulsive, forward-pushing roller that balances subtlety and pressure. On 'Hessdalen' things take a darker turn: A menacing groove emerges, led by evil synth stabs that march with precision through a hypnotic, unrelenting beat. The EP closes with 'Wow-Signal', a digital-only track that begins with a long robotic intro, building tension before unfolding into a groovy, nerdy banger loaded with synthetic detail and energy. Introversion's 'Ghost Rockets' EP is a high-impact release that balances floor power with intricate design, being a perfect fit for both deep club nights and peak festival moments. Mikhail Pletnev veröffentlicht sein erstes Studioalbum bei Deutsche Grammophon seit 2005.
Die künstlerische Vielseitigkeit des Pianisten, Dirigenten und Komponisten spiegelt sich in der besonderen
Ausdruckskraft seiner Interpretationen zweier bedeutender Präludien-Zyklen wider: Chopins 24 Préludes
op. 28 und Skrjabins 24 Préludes op. 11. Mit unnachahmlicher Klanggestaltung fängt der legendäre russische Künstler den Charakter jeder einzelnen Miniatur ein.
Das Album war als Konzertaufnahme geplant und wurde dann doch zu einer Studioaufnahme. Ein Glücksfall für alle Hörenden, denn, was bei der Studioaufnahme entstand, in einer einzigen, viereinhalbstündigen
Sitzung, kann nur als pure Magie bezeichnet werden. Eingespielt hat Pletnev das Album an seinem
bevorzugten Instrument, einem Shigeru-Kawai-Flügel.
Die Vinyleinspielung ist noch in zweiter Hinsicht eine echte Sensation: Sie ist die erste rein analoge DGNeuproduktion seit den Achtzigerjahren! Mit speziell angefertigten Sennheiser-Mikrofonen und einer Studer
C37-Röhrenbandmaschine wurde Pletnevs Aufnahme festgehalten und anschließend mit klassischen Schnittund Klebetechniken minimal bearbeitet. Das Ergebnis ist der unverfälschte Klang in seiner vollen, warmen
Musikalität, die dem Original Leben und Tiefe verleiht.
Für die hochauflösende Digitalaufnahme für die CD-Version kam ein Elf-Kanal-Mikrofonaufbau zum Einsatz, welche die feinsten Nuancen und Details authentisch zur Geltung bringt.

Editors-Frontmann Tom Smith veröffentlicht sein Solo-Debütalbum „There Is Nothing In The Dark Which Isn’t There In The Light“

Nach zwei Jahrzehnten als Frontmann von Editors und zwei Alben mit Smith & Burrows betritt Tom Smith mit „There Is Nothing In The Dark That Isn’t There In The Light“ nun endlich Solo-Territorium. Motiviert durch den Wunsch, zu den rohen, akustischen Anfängen seines Songwritings zurückzukehren, machte sich Smith daran, etwas Intimeres und Persönlicheres zu schaffen, weg vom kollaborativen Charakter seiner Bandprojekte.
Anfangs Stand noch der Gedanke im Raum, diese Songs wieder mit seinem langjährigen Kollaborateur Andy Burrows zu schreiben, entschied sich aber schließlich für einen einsameren Weg und engagierte stattdessen den Produzenten Iain Archer. Gemeinsam schufen sie ein Album, das auf emotionaler Ehrlichkeit, akustischen Texturen und Themen wie Verbundenheit, Erinnerung und Resilienz basiert.
Auf dem gesamten Album balanciert Smith reduzierte Arrangements mit filmischen Schnörkeln und schafft so eine dynamische Bandbreite – vom minimalistischen Schmerz von „Broken Time“ bis zum mitreißenden Drama von „Life Is For Living“.
Obwohl von Melancholie geprägt, schwingt auf dem Album letztlich Hoffnung mit – es unterstreicht Smiths Entwicklung als Songwriter und seinen Wunsch, Musik zu schaffen, die das Wesen seiner Persönlichkeit widerspiegelt.
