TRELLDOM sind das geistige Kind von Kristian Eivind Espedal - besser bekannt unter seinem Künstlernamen Gaahl. Der Norweger wurde zu einem der führenden Köpfe der nordischen Black Metal Szene, nachdem er sich im Jahr 1998 der berüchtigten Bergener Band GORGOROTH angeschlossen hatte. Sowohl aufgrund seines extremen Gesangs als auch zahlreicher finsterer Gerüchte über seine Person wurde der Frontmann oft in eine besonders schmale Schublade gesteckt. Doch wenn eine Aussage über Espedal wahr ist, dann ist es die gegenteilige, nämlich dass von ihm meist das Unerwartete kommt. Auch mit TRELLDOM hat er bereits Black Metal Geschichte geschrieben. Die im Jahr 1992 von Gaahl in Sunnfjord im Distrikt Vestland, gegründete Band veröffentlichte drei Jahre später ihr Debütalbum "Til evighet..." (1995), das in Underground Black Metal Kreisen großen Anklang fand. Das Nachfolgeralbum "Til et annet..." (1999) präsentierte den Gitarristen Valgard sowie Stian "Sir" Kårstad am Bass als Neuzugänge bei TRELLDOM und erreichte auch die "Mainstream-Medien" im Metal. Als Produzent zeichnete der legendäre Toningenieur Pytten in den Grieghallen Studios in Bergen verantwortlich. Pytten nahm ebenfalls den dritten Meilenstein "Til minne..." (2007) auf, der sowohl von Kritikern als auch von Fans hoch gelobt wurde. Einer der Schlüsselaspekte dieser ersten TRELLDOM-Trilogie lag darin, dass Gaahl in seiner eigenen Band die Möglichkeiten seiner Stimme frei von den strengen Regeln erforschen konnte, unter denen GORGOROTH operierte. After dipping into the archive to deliver a series of essential reissues, Bureau B continue to encourage the chaotic brilliance of Faust with an LP of brand new music curated by originator Zappi Diermaier and a band of musical friends, including fellow founder Gunther Wüsthoff. Over the years Faust has become many things, each as separate as the fingers, but as together as the hand which makes up their eponymous fist. From 1971 to 1974 the Hamburg band blazed a bold sonic trail, helping to create the distinct and delirious strand of German music we"ve come to know as Krautrock. Uncompromising, innovative and experimental, their releases in that period, and the stories accompanying their creation, are nothing short of legendary, and the fact that after a hiatus, the band returned and remained active in a variety of separate and simultaneous incarnations is entirely fitting for these musical revolutionaries. On Blickwinkel, Diermaier"s incarnation embrace synchronicity and chance in order to capture the moment in a six track snapshot of industrial churn, unsettling ambience and psychedelic motorik.

A sanctuary of adoration, creation and imagination, it's also the nerve center of their record label Heads on Fire Industries and the site where the final mixes of their latest album Beyond This Fiction took shape. For nearly two decades, White Hills have been blowing minds with their sonic alchemy: a unique mix of neo-psychedelia, art rock, and post-punk- at once original and recognizable. Their cult reputation emblazoned in celluloid following their performance in Jim Jarmusch's sultry vampire romance Only Lovers Left Alive, the duo has toured vigorously since their inception. Recorded with Martin Bisi, known for his iconic NYC sound developed through his work with no-wave titans Sonic Youth, Swans and Lydia Lunch, Beyond This Fiction sees Dave W (guitar/vocals/synths) and Ego Sensation (drums/bass/vocals) orchestrating their distinct guitar heavy meditations into songs with a stronger focus on vocals than previous albums. Opener "Throw It Up In The Air" and closer "Beyond This Fiction" both have a lush quality that flirts with shoegaze. "Killing Crimson", a song that takes inspiration from Killing Joke and King Crimson, has a driving beat and a catchy hook that begs for a sing-a-long. "The Awakening" plunges into the meditative ambient abyss the band is well known for, featuring the unique voice of frequent collaborator poet Dan McGuire to deliver the meaning behind Beyond This Fiction. The album harnesses the seductive accessibility of 2015's Walks For Motorists while evoking the tempestuous soul of the band's seminal 2011 H-p1. Deeper States Volume 2 is another installment of fresh sounds from producers who have come through a competition that set them to making proper deep hose with a specified sample library. Across four sides of wax, there are some mighty fine cuts here such as the deep garage inflections of Enrico Dragoni, some Motor City vibes from Scott Andrews, the deepest of dub techno workouts from Montreal courtesy of Dealin', soul-drenched late-night cruisers from Khalid Ali on 'Elevate' and some nice bubbly vocal vibes from Dublin don Oscide with his 'Free Your Mind.' This is another hugely effective and stylish EP from the Interweaved community.

Black Truffle is thrilled to present a Song for two Mothers / Occam IX the first ever solo release from Laetitia Sonami. Born in France in 1957, Sonami studied with Éliane Radigue in Paris before moving to California in 1978 to study electronic music at Mills College, going on to make important innovations in the field of live electronics interfaces and multi-media performance. Sonami is perhaps most closely associated with one of her inventions, the Lady’s Glove, an arm-length tailored glove fitted with movement sensors allowing the performer fluidly to control digital sound parameters and processing, as well as motors, lights and video playback. Having performed with the Lady’s Glove for 25 years, Sonami retired it in 2016, turning her attention to the interface/instrument heard and pictured here, the Spring Sprye.

In Sonami’s own description, “The Spring Spyre is composed of three thin springs that are attached to reverb tank pickups, mounted on a metal ring. The audio generated when the springs are touched, rubbed or struck is analyzed in Max/MSP. The extracted features are then used to train machine learning models in Wekinator and Rapidmax and control the audio synthesis in real time. We never actually hear the springs.” After decades of aversion to documenting her work on recordings, a Song for two Mothers / Occam IX treats listeners to two side-long performances with the Spring Spyre: the very first piece developed for the instrument and the most recent, the two contrasting remarkably in sound palette, energy and form. A Song for two Mothers (2023) spins an intricate web of rippling synthetic burbles, rapid sweeps and fizzing textures. Performed in real time with the sensitive and partly uncontrollable Spring Sprye ("a bit tyrannical," Sonami calls it), the music is delicate yet chaotic. Abrupt gestures hover against a backdrop of silence, "devoid of spatial or temporal direction". After several minutes, the sound-world becomes metallic and percussive, tapping and ticking in pointillistic flurries before a wavering harmonic cloud emerges, sprinkled with resonant drips and pops.


Occam IX is a radically different proposition. At the outset of Sonami’s exploration of the Spring Sprye, she asked her former teacher Éliane Radigue to compose a piece for it—and her: like all of Radigue’s work since she ceased working with analogue electronics at the beginning of the 21st century, Occam IX is written not only for an instrument but also for a particular performer. These scores are developed verbally, through meetings and conversations between performer and composer; each is grounded in an image (usually kept from listeners, to avoid influencing their experience); all magnify the subtlest acoustic phenomena and require great commitment and patience from the performer. Sonami’s is one of the few Occam pieces to make use of electronics, bringing it closer to Radigue’s famous longform pieces for ARP 2500. Beginning from a rumbling low tone, the listener is gradually immersed in slowly lapping waves of synthetic tones, eventually thinning out into delicate bell-like pings against a background of white noise, reminiscent of one of the most beautiful sections of Kyema from the Trilogie de la Morte.


Accompanied by notes from Sonami, her longtime collaborator Paul DeMarinis, and Radigue, and illustrated with scores, photographs and images of the Spring Spyre, a Song for two Mothers / Occam IX is an essential document celebrating an under-recognised pioneer of electronic music and performance.

Realistic IX, the third full-length by the duo of Michael Jones and Turk Dietrich aka Belong, is both an expansion and excavation of their signature acid-washed songcraft.

Bleached guitars, metronomic drums, and buried voices rev, swirl, and seethe across shifting gradients of haze and hypnosis, alternately driving and diffuse. Melodies surge closer to the surface, flexing their form before resubmerging into quickening currents of feedback. Elsewhere the elements dissipate into a dusk of murk and microtonalities, electricity liberated back into infinite night.
Although it’s been thirteen years since Belong’s prior Kranky offering, Common Era, none of the duo’s rare synergy has decayed in the interim. Jones and Dietrich’s commitment to oblique states of motorik drone and liminal emotion continues to evolve and unfold, increasingly tactile and unreal, an alluring glow glimpsed through fogged windows at witching hours.

Current 93’s first and last album, NATURE UNVEILED dragged together my obsessions, as I had decided to make a pop album that dealt with my (then—as now!) primary fascinations: Christian apocalyptic and eschatological Christian texts.

In my Speed-Ridden Soul and Mind, I thought I was reinventing The Ronettes, and that the 2 long sides of NATURE UNVEILED were A- and B- Sides of a Wall Of Soundhogs HIT! But the reality is that I was sharing a squat in Vauxhall with Little Annie Anxiety, and hanging out with Youth in The BatCave, with chickens rescued by The Animal Liberation Front in our backyard. Or did that come soon after, soon later? The album was recorded at The Roundhouse Studios in London’s Chalk Farm, home of Bronze Records, the label of my heroes (then—as now!) Uriah Heep, and Motörhead too, for whom I had moved stage-gear on their tour promoting their debut single on Chiswick Records.

Anyway, anyway—I had not reinvented The Ronettes, though every time, every place, I listen to NATURE UNVEILED it Hits Me, And Feels Like A Judas Kiss. There has been NOTHING UNVEILED like NATURE UNVEILED, Before, Since, Or After.

Remastered by The Bricoleur at Bladud Flies!, and with the original artwork refreshed and reborn by Rob Hopeye, this 12” vinyl picture-disc comes in a full-colour die-cut sleeve, which is printed on both the outside and inside.

This is one of the first 4 reissues of the entire back catalogue of C93 on picture-disc and standard vinyl, in the lead-up to the publication of my autobiography at the end of 2025, whilst I also work on many other recording, publishing, and painting projects, and Watch And Pray! The wild greaser with an ever-broken heart, Cong Josie, is back! His
eagerly anticipated sophomore album; Moto Zone, pulls up throbbing,
revving, sweating and grinding hotter than bitumen on a summer day
It is a non- stop EBM'in', synth- punkin', rock 'n' rollin' and doo- woppin' sizzler, in
much the same vein as his 2021 debut Cong!. With this release however, Cong
pushes his own M.O. even deeper. The throbs get bolder, the NRG goes harder,
slow sleaze hip-grinding enters and the dream washes return to envelope all that
hear them like a siren's call. On Moto Zone, Cong conjures the age of rock 'n' roll,
a world of motorcycle gangs and hot rods, leather, chains, backcombing and hair
pomade, with an Aussie twist on greaser 'cool'. Confessional lyrics tell tales of
addiction and mental illness tracing the scars of a troubled past. Cong says the
"Moto Zone" reflects his daily life and mindset. A life of ADHD, burning the
midnight oil, living on black coffee, obsessively creating and revving through
every day. Ultimately Cong is reaching for bliss, feeling connection and a new
world in these songs. Exhilarating? Anxious? Hedonistic? Dangerous? Beautiful?
A lust for life? The record is all of the above.

The wild greaser with an ever-broken heart, Cong Josie, is back! His eagerly anticipated sophomore album; Moto Zone, pulls up throbbing, revving, sweating and grinding hotter than bitumen on a summer day. It is a non-stop EBM’in’, synth-punkin’, rock ’n’ rollin’ and doo-woppin’ sizzler, in much the same vein as his 2021 debut Cong!. With this release however, Cong pushes his own M.O. even deeper. The throbs get bolder, the NRG goes harder, slow sleaze hip-grinding enters and the dream washes return to envelope all that hear them like a siren’s call. On Moto Zone, Cong conjures the age of rock ’n’ roll, a world of motorcycle gangs and hot rods, leather, chains, backcombing and hair pomade, with an Aussie twist on greaser ‘cool’. Confessional lyrics tell tales of addiction and mental illness tracing the scars of a troubled past. Cong says the “Moto Zone” reflects his daily life and mindset. A life of ADHD, burning the midnight oil, living on black coffee, obsessively creating and revving through every day. Ultimately Cong is reaching for bliss, feeling connection and a new world in these songs. Exhilarating? Anxious? Hedonistic? Dangerous? Beautiful? A lust for life? The record is all of the above.

Das lange vergriffene Debütalbum der beliebten Indie-Rock-Band Velocity Girl aus dem Jahr 1993 ist wieder erhältlich, mit einem neuen, von der Band genehmigten Mix und einem kompletten Album mit Bonustracks, das Singles, Outtakes und die Peel Session der Band von 1993 enthält. Velocity Girl gründeten sich etwa 1989 an der Universität von Maryland außerhalb von Washington DC und setzten sich kurz darauf aus Gitarrist Archie Moore (Black Tambourine), Gitarrist Brian Nelson (Black Tambourine), Schlagzeuger Jim Spellman (Starry Eyes, Foxhall Stacks, High Back Chairs, Julie Ocean, Piper Club), Bassist Kelly Riles (Starry Eyes) und Sängerin Sarah Shannon (Starry Eyes, The Not Its) zusammen. Die Band kombinierte englisch inspirierten lärmenden Shoegaze-Fuzz mit rauem US-Indie-Rock und klassischem 60er-Jahre-Pop-Songwriting. Eine Killer-Single auf Slumberland und pausenloses Touren erregten die Aufmerksamkeit der damaligen Indie-Rock-Kenner, und nach einem hitzigen Werben, das sowohl Abendessen als auch Nachtisch beinhaltete, unterzeichneten Velocity Girl in Hoboken, New Jersey einen Vertrag auf einer Motorhaube, und machten Sub Pop zu ihrer Heimat. 1992 begann die Band mit der Arbeit an ihrem Debütalbum "Copacetic" in den Easley Studios in Memphis - einst Heimat der Bar-Kays und anderer klassischer Soul-Bands - unter der Leitung von Bob Weston (Volcano Suns, Shellac), und mischte das Album anschließend mit Weston in Chicago. Obwohl das Album starke Songs enthielt - Popsongs wie "Audrey's Eyes", "Pop Loser" und "Living Well" neben ehrgeizigen Erkundungen wie "Pretty Sister" und "Here Comes" - hatte die Band wenig Erfahrung mit der Produktion und es fehlte ihr an den Fähigkeiten, im Studio "das Boot zu steuern". Infolgedessen war das Album eine eher schlichte Angelegenheit, der es an der Üppigkeit der früheren Aufnahmen mangelte. In den Ohren der Band war das ein Schock, und sie merkten bald, dass dies nicht die Platte war, die sie zu machen hofften. Bob Weston hatte genau das getan, was von ihm verlangt wurde, und die Klänge eingefangen, aber die Band hatte nicht ihren Teil dazu beigetragen, eine klare Vision zu formulieren. Aber die Zeit der Band im Studio war vorbei, und Polvo war gerade aufgetaucht, um an ihrem Album zu arbeiten, also machten sich Velocity Girl auf, um das Video zu Audrey's Eyes" zu drehen. "Copacetic" kam 1993 auf den Markt und die Leute schienen es zu mögen, aber innerhalb der Band gab es ein Gefühl der Enttäuschung bis zu dem Punkt, an dem die meisten Mitglieder es nicht mehr ertragen konnten, die Platte zu hören. Seitdem hat die Band viel über Aufnahmen gelernt, und Archie Moore eine Karriere als Tontechniker eingeschlagen, so dass die Band schließlich beschloss, sich mit "Copacetic" nochmal auseinanderzusetzen. Nach umfangreichen Ausgrabungen tauchten die 2"-Bandspulen im Haus der Mutter von Jims Ex-Frau auf, und im Frühjahr 2023 begann Archie mit der Arbeit an einem Remix. Song für Song entstanden die neuen Abmischungen genau so, wie die Band sie sich vorgestellt hatte. Der erhabene Gesang von Sarah (die am College Oper studiert hat), die klingende Leadgitarre, die saftigen, verwaschenen Rhythmusgitarren und das klare, stampfende Schlagzeug. Die Popsongs sind viel poppiger. Der Klang ist kraftvoller, und die Platte ist ein zusammenhängendes Werk, das von Song zu Song fließt. Der Ansatz war nicht, ein Album zu machen, das nach 2024 klingt, sondern sich auf das Jahr 1992 zurückzubesinnen und das Album zu machen, das die Band damals hätte machen sollen. Das Ergebnis, "UltraCopacetic (Copacetic Remixed and Expanded)", ist eine spannende alternative Geschichte von "Copacetic". Und während sie dabei waren, hat die Band den Rest ihres Studiomaterials aus dieser Zeit ausgegraben und aufgefrischt: "Ultracopacetic" enthält "Warm/Crawl" von der Velocity Girl/Tsunami Split 7", ,Creepy' von der Crazy Town 7", "Stupid Thing" von der Audrey's Eyes 7" und die unveröffentlichte Albumauskopplung ,Even Die'. Abgerundet wird das Ganze durch die komplette John-Peel-Session der Band aus dem Jahr 1993 mit fünf Liedern, darunter zwei Tracks, die seit der ursprünglichen Sendung nicht mehr zu hören waren. "UltraCopacetic" ist wirklich die definitive Version von Velocity Girls erstem Album.

Of course, the list of ingredients on "Feel The Curse" also reads like something straight out of the textbook of electric guitar music: the opening title track is a galloping banger with razor-sharp riffs and Pretty Maids flair, "Spellbound By Her Eyes" offers black romanticism and early Maiden vibes, "Dr. Evil" is the semi-acoustic intermezzo with Spanish guitars and eruptive thrash outbursts, "Lords Of Darkness" is a gripping semi-ballad with just the right amount of pathos and the closing "Dead Without A Grave" fires from all cylinders like Motörhead in their prime. Everything in, everything on.

den ersten Musikhelden seit Buddy Holly.
Das Projekt setzt sich aus Aufnahmen zusammen, die über mehrere Jahrzehnte hinweg in den Spur Studios, seinem Heimstudio außerhalb von Austin,
gemacht wurden. Unterstützt wird er dabei von den Musikern/Nachbarn Joel Guzman am Akkordeon, dem Keyboarder Bill Guinn, dem Sänger Eddie
Beethoven und dem Geiger Richard Bowden. Letztes Jahr im The Zone in Dripping Springs, Texas, fügte Jeff Plankenhorn seine Gitarre zu drei Stücken
hinzu und der Tontechniker Pat Manske, der Driven to Drive gemastert hat, steuerte das Schlagzeug bei.
