Lavvi Ebbel was without a doubt one of the most talked-about bands of the Belgian new wave scene. In the early eighties, the band achieved considerable success with singles such as “Give Me a Gun” and “Victoria.” This ten-piece band had a solid live reputation thanks to the original sound of the two guitarists (Marc de Wit and Chris Van Ransbeeck), pianist (Bea Van Ransbeeck), and the steady Eric de Wit on drums. Singer Luckas Vander Taelen and backing vocalist Kristien D’Haeger provided a strong stage presence, supported by the swinging horn section with Jan Weuts and Eric Sleichim, who was the driving force behind Maximalist and Bl!ndman some time later.

Lavvi Ebbel played about 200 times in Belgium and the Netherlands, both in small clubs and at prestigious festivals such as Seaside. On the compilation LP “Get Sprouts,” which is a true sample chart of the music of this period, we find Lavvi Ebbel's “No Place To Go,” a high point in their versatile collaboration with producer Jean-Marie Aerts. “Albü Meth” is arguably the best-known mini-LP, featuring the cult song “Le Cafard.” After the release of the album “Kiss Me Kate,” produced by the American producer David Avidor, the band called it a day in 1983. Following a couple of very successful performances in 2013, Lavvi Ebbel, 12 years later, is making a comeback with the original band members.

**ON LTD SPLATTER VINYL** First time available on vinyl! With bonus tracks and unreleased material! The Sultans formed in 2000 and were John Reis / Slasher and Tony DiPrima and at times also Andy Stamets / Black Flame (Rocket From The Crypt’s ND) and Dean Reis / Black Velvet (Mannequin Piss, Spider Fever, The Heartaches, Los Dug Dugs). Shipwrecked was the bands second album and was released only on CD in 2004.

It was hailed as a “power-pop meets ’70s punk classic” by Virtual Underground Press and “…a masterpiece of the form...essential” by the Cleveland Call And Post. This reissue is a labor of lust with maximum attention to detail in resurrecting these masters from their deteriorated, analog state. The result is a louder, thicker and even more bristling slab of triumphant rock ’n’ roll. Everything on this reissue cuts deeper and breaks the digital glass into razor sharp shards and then shits on the 1s and 0s. Treble Magazine says. “It is the perfect soundtrack to your post-breakup life: fourteen songs about heartache, shame, trying to move on, regrets and just plain old hate. (And by the by, hate has never sounded as good as this)”. Added to the original are four bonus tracks, one being a cover of The Dils “Blow Up” and another the never released “Out Of Focus”. Shipwrecked was the last record at Drag Racist (Hot Snakes, RFTC, etc) before it shuddered its doors for good.

200 Records marks its 50th release with a four-track EP showcasing both fresh faces and long-time contributors to the label. M.R.E. opens with a vibrant house cut, full of energy and warmth. Blauert follows with a deep, dub-tinged house track, subtle but with a steady, driving rhythm that keeps things moving. Havantepe contributes a deep and intricate Detroit-inspired techno track, rich in texture and unmistakably his own. Nach einer kurzen Auszeit melden sich die Jungs aus Torgau zurück, die Richtung ist geklärt, ab jetzt geht es nur noch vorwärts. Der Einfachheitshalber und um es nicht zu vergessen, heißt ihre dritte VÖ dann auch "Vorwärts". THE COCKHEADS gehen eher sparsam mit ihren Akkorden um, ist ja auch nicht Kunst, sondern Punkrock. Ehrliche Mucke ohne Schnörkel, schnelle Beats und eingängige Melodien, drei Akkorde mit ,Doppel-Wumms". Sound im Stil der frühen Achtziger, als NDW noch Punkrock war. Ähnlich verhält es sich auch mit den Texten, einfach und eingängig. Kernaussage, zwei, drei Sätze drumrum, mehr is nicht und braucht's auch nicht. 14 Wörter reichen der Band für den Song ,DDR". Kernaussage:'grau und 20 Jahre hinterher', war ja 'ne Mangelwirtschaft, da gab es halt nicht so viel, auch nicht Wörter. Themen des Alltags mit der Sprache des Alltags. Ob Nazi-Stress, Liebe oder machtgeile Studie-Punker, die Thematik wird auf den Punkt gebracht und die Kernaussage so oft wiederholt bis der Letzte es versteht. Der Sound von THE COCKHEADS ist zwar schlicht, aber genau das macht ihn gefährlich, er setzt sich fest und lässt nicht mehr locker. Noch Stunden nach dem Konsum wippt man in seinem Takt. Gewarnt sei hier besonders vor dem Titeltrack, sein Genuss kann als Nebenwirkung einen Ohrwurm erzeugen! Gute Musik kann so einfach sein. 7 Stücke Minialbum, einseitig bespieltes, pinkes, 180gr Vinyl!

The 3xLP collection celebrates a decade of the game's rich musical legacy, marking a milestone in the globally successful Black Desert IP. Music has been a core pillar of Black Desert's immersive experience since its inception. The third volume of the AfroColombia Remix series merges African and Colombian sounds with contemporary electronica. It's a collaboration between Colombian labels Galletas Calientes and Palenque Records that celebrates Palenque's 20+ years of activism and Galletas Calientes' two-decade legacy while honouring the late Abelardo Carbono with a remix of his track 'La PiNa Madura' by Voilaaa - it's a standout here with hints of funk, soul and disco all bringing the sunshine. The compilation also reinterprets Nigerian Igbo Highlife and Ekobe music thanks to producers Captain Planet, Uproot Andy and Caribombo. They bring new, funky energy to timeless classics while preserving the original cultural essence.

Fresh off his second EP last month, Baumb returns with those trademark low-end orbs, guiding us through the fog with finesse. Glen S strips it back and locks into a tech-deep groove. BDP lands on F1. Sublime, heads-down deep house with that unmistakable sample finesse — pure signature gear.

A nod to the 9 incredible artists who feature on the release through digital exclusives — Astro alongside Ash Is, Rounds & Plastic GRN, Primitive Needs, Hotpretty, Tourman, Skinner (making his way through the Pyramid Fields portal), and Wigs — whose Trigger Step track has been getting heavy rotation from Spray and Roza Terenzi, to name a few.

2025 Repress

Roberta returns to her own Night Moves label with her most accomplished work to date on NMR012. After a string of recent underground hits on prominent labels like NDATL, Worldship Music, and Innermoods, it is easy to wonder where she would go next. With all that cachet built up, a return to her roots with increased confidence has paid off in this exquisite and refined record.

"Your Touch" kicks off with Roberta's signature dusty drum sound before sultry vocals and electric piano drop in, setting a proper atmosphere for dancefloor action. Moody strings along with instrumental solos including one from James Duncan on mute trumpet elevate this track to an even higher level, certain to be big with the best deep and soulful house DJs across the globe.

On the flipside, "All The Things" works with a similar sound palette, but focuses more on harmony. Jazzy Rhodes chords slide over each other into an extremely infectious and memorable pattern, playing off the bumping and melodic bassline. The vibraphone solos are the cherry on top of what would be an A1 killer on any other record. Here it has to settle for being an unreasonably hot B side jam for the heads.
