BALTHVS is the Colombian trio of guitarist and producer Balthazar Aguirre, bassist Johanna Mercuriana, and drummer Santiago Lizcano. Over five years the band has amassed more than 140 million streams, performed in over 26 countries, earned a Libera Awards nomination, and appeared at Electric Forest, Austin City Limits, Outside Lands, Lollapalooza, Jam Cruise, and SXSW Sydney. »Moondram Sevi«, ein Album, das vertraut und gleichzeitig aufregend anders klingt: Dub und Disco-Diaspora treffen auf Kollywood-Soundtracks, Balearic-Sound, Neo-Library-Music, Psychedelic, Prog und krautige Grooves. Sahana Naresh singt auf drei Songs, darunter »Pambu Mookan Uncle« und »Sa Re Ga Ma Pa«. In all seiner kaleidoskopischen Bildkraft und rauschhaften Fabulierfreudigkeit hat »Moondram Sevi« etwas Cineastisches – und auch das für Keshavara typische babylonische Sprachgewirr aus Deutsch, English, Tamil & Gibberish regiert wieder.
Bei Keshavara versteht sich die Sprache als Musik, während die Musik sich als Sprache versteht. Und mag diese Musik auch noch so filmisch daherkommen, so bleibt sie doch immer tanzbar: »Moondram Sevi« (Tamil für »das dritte Ohr«) ist Kopfkino für die Füße.

Nach „Révisé“ kehrt The Offline mit „Les derniers jours de juin / Marées“ zurück – einer neuen, limitierten 7"-Vinyl, inspiriert von einer Reise nach Biarritz an der französischen Baskenküste. Der Hamburger Produzent Felix Müller verbindet auf zwei neuen Stücken Cinematic Soul, Vintage-Library-Musik und moderne Instrumentals mit psychedelischen Surf-Gitarren, tiefen Grooves und nostalgischen Melodien. Mit weltweit über 3.000 verkauften Exemplaren von „La couleur de la mer“ und mehreren ausverkauften Vinyl-Veröffentlichungen hat sich The Offline bereits erfolgreich im internationalen Markt etabliert. His "Ten Dubs That Shook The World" EM1119CD/LP, released in 1988, has been growing in stature since its release, supported by its re-issue on EM Records, and in the meantime the Sheriff has been working steadily, deep-local style, honing his skills with the Australian sound systems Firehouse Sound and Earthlink Sound. The tracks on "Aftershock Dubs", recorded between 1990 and 2005, while never officially released, have been played as dub plates at sound system parties, proved movers, tested in the heat of action. Recorded at Lindo's 4/5 Studios, these specials were chosen by Japanese sound system savants Takuto Kuratani (Ruv Bytes) and Atsushi Muneshige (Touch the Sky/Corner Stone Music) from a cornucopia of goodness supplied by Sheriff Lindo, mastered by Kuratani for maximum impact. EM Records' first-ever Dancehall release is available on vinyl and CD, with two bonus tracks on the CD. One track features the vocals of Ras Roni; all tracks feature the experience-forged Dub sense of the Sheriff. More than a quarter-century of love, knowledge and soul-science has been distilled here. Ashanti Selah – Musician & Dub Producer hailing from the UK, is the eldest son of the world-renowned soundman, Aba Shanti-I. Ashanti's musical journey began at a tender young age, during his formative years of soundsystem exposure through his father's musical infrastructure he learned the art of the Dub. His education continued as he attended his father’s long-standing annual sessions at the Notting Hill Carnival and traveled the globe as a crew member and diligent student. Via his Steppas Records imprint, Alpha Steppa, son and nephew of pioneering dub-duo Alpha & Omega presents a unique collaboration between two second generation Dub / Reggae producers. 'Ashanti Selah Meets Alpha Steppa' is a testament to their teachers and the product of a life spent in dub. Steppas Records delivers four unique cuts of the long-time Aba Shanti-I exclusive 'Violin Step', featuring the uplifting and transcendental strings of Ras Divarius. New generation soundsystem music with a deep roots foundation.

The third release on Uprising pairs a sax-driven rockabilly thumper with one of the coolest dance craze records of the mid-60s. ‘Red Hot Car’ was Bobby Verne’s only recording and came out on the tiny Californian Doc Holiday label in 1962. Judging by the current price and collector demand for an original copy only a small quantity were pressed. This is a powerhouse of a tune that has been filling dancefloors across the globe for some time now.
As for the flip, in 1965, Buddy Wayne added self-penned lyrics to Gary Paxton’s rendition of the James Bond theme. Released on the Big Ben label – that only put out four records − it sat unwanted for decades. Then the rockabilly scene picked up on it in a big way when they discovered that it was the perfect stroller. This was closely followed by the northern soul and mod scenes. Today, it is at last crossing over to a more mainstream audience.

Space Ghost returns with Back From Reality, his first solo album since 2022. Blending ambient, downtempo and house, the LP explores themes of escapism, introspection and the search for moments of calm in an increasingly overwhelming world. Out October 9th, 2026 via Space Ghost’s own Peace World Records.

Drawing influence from late '90s and early 2000s ambient and electronic music, the record channels the nostalgic atmosphere of PS2-era video game soundtracks, console startup screens, and save menus. “I used to play games like Spyro, Crash, Ape Escape, Gran Turismo. It's fun for me to reimagine songs that could have lived in games from that era. ” The project reveals Space Ghost's interest in writing music for video games, with tracks such as "System Reset" reimagining an alternate PS2 startup screen or “VGM” visualizing a stage selection screen for an imaginary game.

Visually, the project emulates the minimalist design trends of album artwork from the same era: sparse industrial landscapes paired with minimal type. Space Ghost took the cover photo himself while driving around the quiet, empty Oakland ports at night. Tracks like “Sugar Cube” and “Back From Reality” mimic these late night environments and create a downtempo zone for listeners to get lost in. “One of my favorite things to do after writing songs, is to drive around Oakland listening to them. It's almost like the final test for the songs, to see if their emotion holds up.

Written over the course of five years, Back From Reality reflects Space Ghost’s experience of balancing everyday life with the desire to be creative. “This album is me coming home from my day job and returning back to the place where I feel the joy and freedom in making my music. If I could, I would work on my music full time, but for now it's part time and often a form of escapism. ” Beneath its calming surface, the LP quietly wrestles with larger questions. Against the backdrop of global conflict, environmental decline, and economic uncertainty, the album searches for small moments of optimism through creativity and introspection. Back From Reality holds a moment of space away from these overwhelming times, allowing listeners to pause and recharge.

Ron Trent’s Primitive Arts originally released on Peacfrog Records in 1999 is a triple LP collecting some of Trent’s most beloved tracks released on his own label, Prescription Records, and rounds it off with a few new cuts that easily assimilate with Trent’s best material.

Prince Jeepni delivers two cuts of pure heat on this limited 7" from Funk Freaks Records. Side A, "All I Need Is Your Love," is a smooth reggae rework of a boogie classic, featuring Prince Jeepni's effortless vocals over a rolling groove produced by Diamond Ortiz. Flip it over for the dub version of "Psycho For Your Love," a deep, hypnotic ride co-produced by King Hippo and Prince Jeepni himself. Part of the Spliff Funk series — reggae covers of boogie classics — this black vinyl 7" comes in a picture sleeve and marks the first time Funk Freaks Records is available through distribution. Meet Matas Petrikas, a music producer, DJ, and book author with a passion for electronic music. Born in Lithuania during the time when it was still a part of the Soviet Union, Matas began experimenting with electronic sounds during his teenage years using self-built instruments and recording equipment. In 1991, Matas took a trip to Berlin that would change his life forever. There, he encountered the early years of techno culture, which led him to co-found EXEM, one of the first house and techno bands in the former Soviet space. With EXEM, Matas was one of the pioneers of electronic dance music in Lithuania, and by the end of the decade, they had charted numerous hits. They performed live shows ranging from intimate clubs to massive arenas, sewing the seeds of the local electronic music scene. Since then he relocated to Berlin and has forged a musical solo career focused on live-sets, experimentation, and authoring the book 'The Joy of Electronic Music'. The Unknown is Matas’ first release on his newly formed imprint Dangė Records, focused on supporting electronic music from Lithuania and the Baltics. The 6 track EP forges his love for texture heavy hypnotic techno with industrial and warehouse leaning low end and percussion. Although mainly an EP rooted in driving a groove, the use of earworm worthy basslines, rave breaky drums, and squelchy lead synths is where Matas’ long career foray into many genres of electronic music shines through. Dangė Records releases electronic music from Lithuania and the Baltics—sounds that emerge from underwater, carried by artists who inherited the weight of transformation.

Drop the needle on this latest dispatch from the tape vaults, and we are back in Chicago at The Curtom Studios in 1977. For instalment number five in the "Hutson Sevens" series, Home of The Good Groove Records are so very honoured to deliver this previously unreleased cut from Leroy Hutson—a true titan of soul music and an absolute master of his craft.
"Betting On My Love" carries that signature smooth orchestration we have come to expect from Hutson’s finest hours. It moves with a wonderful, breezy optimism. Hutson’s joyful, velvet lead tones skip effortlessly across the groove, wrapped in lush backing harmonies that instantly evoke the feel of the Hutson II
classic, "I Think I’m Falling in Love".

Now, a brief confession of pure, crate-digging indulgence: if tailored strictly for the dancefloor, the track arguably hits its logical peak and fade just past the three-minute mark. But to cut it there would strip away the raw human magic of the session. If you let the wax ride to the very end, the arrangement dissolves into a wonderful, lingering instrumental outro, culminating in the studio players purposely "clattering" their instruments in a moment of pure creative release. It is a brilliant, candid studio artifact that was fortunately preserved on the original master recording. Essential listening for the global soul family—do not sleep on this debut pressing.

For the flip we present Leroy Hutson’s 1979 cut “ So Nice”, a masterclass in late-70s soul music. A stand out track from the “Unforgettable” album and a vital reminder of Hutson’s unmatched ability to inject sophisticated romanticism into the bleeding edge of that disco era.

Slightly edited for the 7-inch pressing, up steps our remastering and editing maestro Mr Phil Ward. Phil always has the utmost respect when remastering and editing original content, ensuring that every second of the groove is fully respected and preserved. His stellar work here includes the studio recording of the three-count drum intro, never heard before now, leading into that meditative smooth groove layout.
It is an exquisite arrangement of simmering electric keys, nimble basslines courtesy of the legendary Keni Burke, and subtle bongo accents that collectively deliver a timeless masterpiece. Now available on 7-inch vinyl for the first time.

1986 veröffentlichten Bassist Ron Royce (Ron Broder), Gitarrist Tommy T. Baron (Tommy Vetterli) und Schlagzeuger Marquis Marky (Markus Edelmann) ihr erstes Demotape »Death Cult« mit Hilfe von Celtic Frosts Tom Gabriel Fischer am Gesang (Fischer war auch für die Texte verantwortlich).
Kurz darauf, Anfang 1987, unterschrieben Zürichs Avantgarde-Metal-Pioniere einen Vertrag mit Noise Records aus Berlin. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt hatte sich Bassist Ron Royce entschieden, selbst die Rolle des Leadsängers von Coroner zu übernehmen.
Schließlich buchte Karl-Ulrich Walterbach von Noise Records für Coroner Studiozeit im Berliner Music Lab Studio, damit sie ihr Debütalbum unter den wachsamen Augen von Harris Johns aufnehmen konnten. »R.I.P.« wurde im Juni 1987 veröffentlicht und erhielt ausgesprochen positives Feedback in der Presse.

1988 folgte auf Coroners Debütalbum »Punishment For Decadence« (diesmal produziert im Sky Trak Studio in Berlin, produziert von Guy Bidmead). Laut Gitarrist Tommy Vetterli war das eine natürliche Weiterentwicklung für die Band: „Wir haben uns mehr auf die Tiefe der Musik konzentriert, es war nicht mehr nur eine Demonstration unserer technischen Fähigkeiten. Die Band war ziemlich tight, definitiv tighter als auf unserem ersten Album. Insgesamt denke ich, dass die Platte etwas reifer ist. Es ging weniger darum zu zeigen: ‚Schaut her, wie gut wir spielen können‘, sondern der Fokus lag auf den Songs.“
Der herausragende Track auf dem Album ist „Masked Jackal“, ein Fanliebling bis zum heutigen Tage. Außerdem wurde ein Musikvideo zu dem Song gedreht, wie der Gitarrist erklärt: „Es ist das Stück, das auf dem Album heraussticht. MTV war damals für jede Band extrem wichtig. Deshalb ist ‚Masked Jackal‘ bis heute ein Favorit der Fans.“

»Punishment For Decadence« kam mit einem auffälligen Cover-Artwork daher (ein Gemälde mit dem Titel „Porte de L'enfer“), eine Idee von Schlagzeuger Marky: „Er kletterte mitten in der Nacht eine Leiter hinauf und fotografierte hier in Zürich das Artwork von Rodin. Das Plattenlabel fand jedoch, dass dieses Cover nicht ‚Heavy Metal‘ genug sei, also veröffentlichten sie für die zweite Pressung ein anderes Cover mit diesem Skelett, das Geige spielt. Jenes Motiv war eigentlich nur als T-Shirt-Design gedacht.“

Laut Tommy lief das Album in Sachen Verkaufszahlen ordentlich: „Anscheinend müssen die Verkaufszahlen befriedigend gewesen sein; sonst hätten wir wahrscheinlich nicht weitermachen können. Wir haben nicht viel Geld mit Coroner verdient, aber das Ganze hat viel Spaß gemacht. Wir konnten überleben und das tun, was wir lieben. Die Presse und andere Musiker mochten uns, aber wir erreichten niemals die breite Masse.“

For UnExposed Records first vinyl release, Uruguay’s Marcos Coya wanted to show the world a different side of his artistic approach. In a world of monotonous copy/paste, Marcos wanted to bring something unique to the table. A compilation of spacey, dreamy & emotional tunes custom built for the dance floor yet still experimental as well. Deep grooves & long developments. No fluff. No overbearing bangers. True underground production principles. Crafted for those with a refined palate.

The A-side is dedicated to Marcos Coya’s four to the floor production work. This sonic expedition begins w/ a bang: the record’s title track “Moon Trippin”! A showcase of freaky melodies accompanied by groovy percussions which bolster a vocal of Prince speaking his mind about the true essence of creating musical art & his disdain for mainstream music industry critics.

“Delirium” closes out the A-side w/ a dreamy acid house tune adding an emotional touch to the record. After hours material. A real step forward for Marcos and his production work. Leaning heavier than ever into trusting his melodies. Taking a bit more risk with his approach by creating something you’ve never heard from him on any of his nearly 20 vinyl releases over his career.

For the B-side we shift over to a more breakbeat approach with 2 absolute heaters. B1 introduces the track Hearthug has claimed to be one of the tracks of the year: “Rage Dog”. Rage Dog is a Marcos Coya signature track due to its rock & hip hop influences developed during his adolescence. Marcos even purchased new synthesizers specifically to improve this track & its melodies. The cherry on top is the vocal from Rage Against The Machine’s front man, Zack de la Rocha, which adds a rebelliously political undertone to the record, something UnExposed & Marcos both are very proud to address w/ passionate conviction during this time of war and injustice.

We close out the record with “D.N.A.”, the most experimental piece of art on this vinyl release. A wild combination of breakbeats, guitars, melodies & crazy vocals. The perfect bizarrely fascinating conclusion to this wild trip to the moon and back.

Sublime frequencies from the golden era of ambient electronica.

Plumbing hidden depths beneath a deceptively tranquil surface, MLO's mid-90s masterpiece Io is an overlooked gem from a golden era for ambient electronic music. Originally released in 1994, Jon Tye and Pete Smith's collaborative album responded to the growing chill-out movement by leaning into classical and avant-garde influences from Satie, Debussy and Cage through to Soft Machine, Incredible String Band and Eno. Recorded across various studios stacked with classic and rare synths, Io was patiently composed into slowly unfolding suites punctuated with ripples of arrhythmic interference to arrive at a purist vision of true ambient.

The next instalment in Forever Records' ongoing reissue series shines a light back on this landmark piece of UK electronica with the first official reissue since its original edition on Rising High. As well as the original double LP pressing and a new CD digipak version, there will also be a uniquely numbered, limited edition housed in a gatefold sleeve that comes with a bonus 10" featuring two previously unreleased versions of the album's opening cut, 'Wimborne'.
