With Ayô Dele , Ireke is embarking on a new chapter: the duo is refining its style,allowing the voices to breathe. The groove remains the driving force but opens up to intimacy. This intimacy is carried by two unique female voices: Nayel Hoxo, a Beninese-Nigerian singer/rapper, and Agnès Hélène, who has already made a name for herself on Tropikadelic with "Petit a Petit". From Detroit’s techno resistance to Berlin’s elastic minimalism, Lusaka’s ancestral futurism to Chicago’s house communion, When There Is No Sun is a recording project, uniting visionary electronic music producers to reimagine the universe of Sun Ra. One of the most radical musical pioneers of the 20th century, Sun Ra used jazz, electronics, poetry, and performance to expand the possibilities of sound, identity, and imagination. Commissioned by Omni Sound and curated by Ricardo Villalobos, the series brings together Underground Resistance, Chez Damier & Ben Vedren, Calibre, A Guy Called Gerald, She Spells Doom, Barış K, and Ricardo Villalobos himself. Drawing from Omni Sound’s recordings of Living Sky by the Sun Ra Arkestra and My Words Are Music of Sun Ra’s poetry, the producers pull fragments of sound and text into their own creative orbits, passing through the portal that Sun Ra opened into a realm where the impossible is possible. Saul Williams, Tunde Adebimpe, Mahogany L. Based out of Brighton, UK, Murmurations have been steadily carving their path as an essential label for distinctive dancefloor moods. The fourth record on the imprint is the launch of a new series titled 'Flock', focusing on bringing different artists together who share similar visions and tastes. Volume one features Evasive frontman Rob Pearson with Paul Donton and label founder Leo Christopher on the A-side. On the flip, you have rising Manchester talent Huw Shipps and Bubble resident The Adventures Of Dogman. This amalgamation of producers has materialised into a record that focuses on nostalgic tech house textures, infused with modern elements and deep, dub tones.

First up is Rob Pearson & Paul Donton's excursion, 'Ideas Abstract'. Slinky drums pave the way, as pensive vocals circulate around the distinct and perky drive of the track. The aptly named 'Underground' from Murmurations boss Leo Christopher teases a more mysterious energy, with pulsating bass in combination with tight drum arrangements. The emerging producer Huw Shipps kicks off the B-side with a playful outing; quirky elements splash in and out throughout the track. Finishing off the release is dancefloor heater 'Cruising Around On A Pair Of Naughty Pennies', chunky and driven as it moves, ready to do the damage, keeping the club locked in.

The Murmurations curation thus far has seen each release shine bright, with timeless music for the club, no-nonsense, heads-down action, and long may that continue.

Der Singer-Songwriter Max Subar aus Chicago legte den Grundstein für ,Anything Could Be", sein Debütalbum, in einem Haus am Ufer eines zugefrorenen Sees in Wisconsin. Subar kehrte zu der klanglichen und geistigen Landschaft zurück, die er während der ersten zehntägigen Session geschaffen hatte, und blieb ganz im Moment, indem er nur dann arbeitete, wenn er sich wirklich voll und ganz darauf einlassen konnte. Die meisten der zusätzlichen Sessions, die dem Album Textur und Farbe verleihen, wurden in Subars Heimstudio aufgenommen, in demselben Haus, in dem Case Oats, die von Casey Gomez-Walker geleitete Band, in der Subar Gitarre spielt, ihr 2025er Debüt ,Last Missouri Exit" aufnahmen. Sein Bruder, Sam Subar, spielte Schlagzeug. Weitere Instrumentierung kommt von den Case Oats Bandkollegen Spencer Tweedy (Schlagzeug bei ,I Never" und ,Way Up"), Jason Ashworth (Kontrabass) und Scott Daniel (Violine) sowie den häufigen Mitarbeitern Chet Zenor (E-Gitarre), Kelly Hannemann (Klavier) und Sarah Weddle (Vibraphon, Orgel und E-Piano). Die Arrangements, die dabei entstanden, sind großzügig und erhellend und verleihen den Grundzügen der Live-Gitarren- und Gesangsaufnahmen von ,Anything Could Be" Substanz, ohne dabei ihre Spontaneität zu opfern. Im Ergebnis ein fesselndes, offenherziges Debüt, das mit dem Hörer wächst und Zeit und aufmerksames Zuhören belohnt. Seine 11 Songs sind durchdrungen von dem, was die Dichterin Adrienne Rich ,eine wilde Geduld" nannte, einer radikalen Stille, die selbst eine Reise hin zu Bewusstsein, Frieden und Selbstwahrnehmung ist. Es macht keine Versprechungen darüber, was als Nächstes kommt. Dennoch lässt es die Hörer in atemloser Vorfreude darauf zurück, was das sein mag.

Es gibt Kooperationen, die sich wie ein Kunstgriff anfühlen, und dann gibt es solche, die sich anfühlen wie die Wärme der Sommersonne an einem Sonntag. ,Helado Tropical", das gemeinsame Debütalbum von Helado Negro und Reyna Tropical, setzt diese ungezwungene, sonnenverwöhnte Zärtlichkeit klanglich um. Es begann weniger mit einem Plan als vielmehr mit einer Begegnung: Zwei Künstler, die sich mit ähnlichen Fragen rund um Sprache, Identität und Musik beschäftigten, landeten schließlich im selben Raum. Was folgte, war weniger ein traditioneller Schreibprozess als vielmehr eine gemeinsame Entfaltung - ein instinktiver, intensiver Austausch, der sich über Geografien, Zeitzonen und Seinszustände erstreckte. Das Duo traf sich erstmals im Juni 2024 in North Carolina, zusammengebracht durch einen gemeinsamen Freund und eine lockere Einladung, Zeit im Studio zu verbringen. Was eine kurze Session hätte sein können, entwickelte sich zu etwas, das eher einem dreitägigen Übernachtungsbesuch glich - zu gleichen Teilen Gespräch, Neugier und kreatives Wagnis. Reyna Tropical, die an enge Kooperationen gewöhnt war, betrat neues kreatives Terrain, während Helado Negro eine ähnliche Neugier und Fluidität mitbrachte. Was dabei entstand, war unmittelbar: Anstatt sich langsam an die Zusammenarbeit heranzutasten, wurden die beiden von ihr vorangetrieben - sie schufen Songs in Echtzeit und reagierten auf die Instinkte des anderen, ohne diese übermäßig zu erklären. Es gab keine starre Rollenverteilung. Der eine brachte eine Idee ein, der andere antwortete darauf. Eine Melodie suggerierte einen Rhythmus; ein Rhythmus formte einen Text neu. Auf ,Helado Tropical" ist eine spürbare Abwesenheit von Zwängen zu bemerken: nicht nur musikalisch, sondern auch konzeptionell. Beide Künstler teilen einen langjährigen Widerstand gegen die Erwartungen, die oft an lateinamerikanische Musik gestellt werden: wie sie klingen sollte, wie sie sich anfühlen sollte, welche Geschichten sie erzählen sollte. Wie auch in ihrer Solokarriere schaffen diese beiden Künstler in diesem Projekt Raum für etwas Fließenderes und Persönlicheres.

Vesu’s returns with List of Lizards IV, the fourth installment in his ongoing series, released July 17, 2026 via
Managua Records in partnership with Moodmusic—marking his first release on the label.
Composed by Vesa-Matti Kivioja, the album features eight original tracks written specifically for the Vesu’s
moniker, blending atmospheric depth with refined musical storytelling. Guest appearances from Kristos’, Georg
Marander, and Tinu add further texture to the record’s layered sound.
Alongside digital formats, List of Lizard IV will also be available on vinyl LP format.

Mihai Popoviciu, one of the most esteemed names in the deep house and minimal scene, is set to unveil his anticipated new album, ‘Puzzle Box’, on Bondage Music. As one of the label’s core artists, Popoviciu returns for his second full-length album release on the imprint following his successful 2016 album, ‘Home’ - available on vinyl from 15th November 2024.

With a career spanning over a decade and with releases on numerous influential labels such as 8Bit to Berg Audio, Popoviciu has firmly established himself as a go-to within the minimal-leaning realms of house music. Known for intricate soundscapes and deep, hypnotic grooves, his work continues to captivate audiences globally. On ‘Puzzle Box’, he delves deeper into his signature stripped-back yet soulful aesthetic, offering a diverse collection of tracks that traverse through various sonic textures.

Consisting of thirteen tracks in total, ‘Puzzle Box’ showcases the Romanian’s sound to its fullest. Soulful Motown City deep house, hip hop interludes, swinging techno, and early Chicago-inspired cuts. Donato Basile steps out onto DVS1's Mistress Recordings label with two 12-inches: Mistress 18 and Mistress 18.5. Pressed in tandem, each record draws upon Basile's dual aliases to go head-to-head as Dona vs. DJ Plant Texture. Rhythmic machine grooves and masterful MPC work that pay respect to the diverse sounds of the metropolis Midwest cities.

Swiss label Mormorio Records returns with its sixth release.
MOR006 is delivered by Zürich-based artist Aline, presenting two original tracks that move between subtle grooves, reduced textures and a warm, driving flow.
On remix duties, Paul K and Lorik each bring their own perspective to the record, stretching the originals into deeper territories while keeping the essence intact. The result is a balanced release that works as well on intimate dancefloors as it does in late-night sessions.

MOR006 continues the label’s focus on understated, carefully crafted club music, rooted in the Swiss underground scene.

Following the critical success of last year’s ‘Cold Feet’ LP, producer, DJ, and multi-instrumentalist Alek Lee returns to Isle of Jura with his most introspective work to date, the ‘Blue Bird’ album. Across eight tracks, the Athens-based artist explores what he describes as a "Peculiar state of minds & Dub Orientated Feelings," blending his signature guerrilla style production with deep, organic soul.

The album’s centerpiece and title track, ‘Blue Bird’ features the haunting vocals of singer-songwriter Keren Ilan. It is a raw, heartfelt exploration of the aftermath of a breakup. The lyrics speak of a "desert heart" and a "loss that grows tall and loud," eventually finding a path toward healing as the "blue bird sings the dawn." Musically, the track is anchored by hazy, sun drenched guitars, a central instrument that weaves a consistent Balearic thread throughout the LP.

The journey through ‘Blue Bird’ is one of shifting shadows and unexpected textures. ‘Treasures’ is a standout instrumental, leaning into a grit-flecked, bluesy "twang" reminiscent of Duane Eddy, while ‘The Beach Road’ sees long time collaborator and ‘Shame On Us’ bandmate, Yovav, lending his magical bass and guitar work to a track that feels like a slow drive toward the horizon.

Side B shifts the energy toward the dancefloor and the sophisticated leftfield pop of the 80s. ‘First Rain’ is a subtle house leaning gem underpinned by a kick drum and lush, synth heavy emotive chord progression. ‘Thanks to Sade’ is a seductive downtempo groove with epic guitar lines shifting through, while ‘Remember the Good’ brings a subtle reggae skank and a French-influenced organ sound into the mix. The LP comes full circle with a smoked out Dub version of the title track ‘Blue Bird’.

A new duo and record label based in Madrid lands on the underground techno scene, led by Mike Gómez and José Castillo, the latter known for his aliases Milford and UHF, and also the owner of the electro label Gladio Operations.

Diorama is born with the intention of recovering the soul and essence lost in electronic music, which for some time has become practically homogeneous and predictable. With a timeless, fresh, and warm sound, Diorama produce rhythms close to dub and Detroit techno, mainly influenced by Juan Atkins, UR, and Basic Channel, among others.

This EP, titled Pacific Trak, begins with a nod to the old Scottish school, where they revive a forgotten track by British producer Anthony Scott, adding its imposing main chord to a true sea of melodic textures, bathed in exquisite acid. Spanish techno master Tadeo gives us his vision of Pacific Trak, exploring dub territories that remind us of past pieces released under the incomparable Maurizio label.

The B-side opens with Soul Memories, a manifesto of resistance that vibrates with detuned harmonies and raw bass lines, recalling the origins of Detroit’s primitive sound. The package closes with Polymorphic, a progression of relentless aquatic chords, set among careful and precise minimalist rhythms that oscillate between high-dynamics tech and dub.
