The very young band from Bilbao, Head Holes, present their second full-length album, 'Requiem'. A concept album at 45 RPM, in which the narrative rides on the back of 90's punk, grunge and hard rock. They are an ambitious reality that will surprise fans of previous generations and are the great Basque hope of rock'n'roll. After releasing their first album 'Decade of Decay' in 2022, Head Holes decided to explore new artistic horizons by working in an unconventional way. Therefore, they set out to do something that few people in the Basque Country had tried before: a conceptual narrative album, where every detail matters, but where each track can also be enjoyed independently, without the need to know the backstory. None of them is over 21 years old. Eder del Valle (vocals), Naroa Esturo (drums), Xabier Aguado (guitars) and Jon Mikel Batiz (bass) make up a band without musical prejudices combining influences from 90s punk, grunge and hard rock, among others. Their hard-hitting, hard-hitting live shows, full of attitude and followed by an ever-growing fan base of their generation, are a must-see. They have also attracted the attention of 'older' people who think that Head Holes sound like what they have been listening to since they were their own age. An ambitious reality embodied in Requiem, which confirms them as the great hope of Basque rock'n'roll.

WORLD OF HORROR is a 1-bit roguelite horror RPG inspired by the works of Junji Ito and H.P. Lovecraft. The mystery and terrors of Shiokawa, Japan are fully brought to life by this retro-inspired chiptune soundtrack that is as melodic as it is atmospheric. "Writing music for a horror game with such a limited chiptune sound palette was a very interesting challenge. It made me consider every part very carefully, resulting in an unusually melodic soundtrack for a horror game", says composer Joseph "Qwesta" Bailey. He and the other musical mind of the game's soundtrack, Garoslaw, have collaborated with Black Screen Records to bring the WORLD OF HORROR onto cassette tape to really give investigators the feel of 1980's Showa Era Japan. We can't provide the AE86, but we can provide the soundtrack!

Five Five is the second studio album from the Miami-born underground rap pioneer, Pouya. Marking a slight transition into a more mature sound, Five Five showcases Pouya’s evolution as an artist while maintaining the raw authenticity that has endeared him to his fans. In what became truly a solo effort, Five Five is limited to one feature in Night Lovell, with production primarily handled by Mikey The Magician (Track 4 produced by Chevali). The album draws from elements of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, yet remains uniquely rooted in Pouya’s own style. Over the years, Pouya has developed a long lasting core fanbase, first bubbling up in Miami alongside artists such as Denzel Curry, and then becoming a nationally celebrated artist. Jawad Nawfal and Mazen El Sayed, better known by their stage names of MUNMA and EL RASS, met for the first time in Beirut, during the summer of 2011. A common friend told Jawad wonders about an MC who rapped and slammed in the classical Arabic language, as opposed to the vernacular Lebanese dialect. The two musicians met in a small café in Beirut’s Hamra neighborhood, spoke of music, argued about politics, and decided to collaborate at once. They began working on tracks the following day. A month later, they had already produced a dozen sketches, instrumental beds and accapella vocal tracks. These demos eventually landed in the hands of Ziad Nawfal and Fadi Tabbal, who set out to bring to life the duo’s first recorded album. “Kachf el Mahjoub” (the title is from a Sufi master-work penned some 900 years ago) was eventually released as a limited edition of 500 CD’s, during a launch event at then-budding alternative venue Metro al Madina in Hamra, on the 22nd of February 2012. These CDs went out of print in record time, as can be expected, and the album’s mythical status became reinforced over time – El Rass & Munma collaborated sporadically during the next ten years, but never fully grasped the level of musical intensity and explosive tension attained on this first outing. It has been a longstanding dream of ours, here at Ruptured, to produce a vinyl version of this album, and we are thrilled to say this moment has finally come. Artist ALI RAFEI’s original artworks have been painstakingly reproduced, the music has been dutifully remastered for vinyl by CEDRIK FERMONT, and the records were pressed by our friends at Mother Tongue in Verona. We added bonus track "Fi Kala'at Tarablus" to this 10th anniversary reissue for good measure – recorded during the same sessions that yielded “Kachf el Mahjoub”, it appears on the digital version of the album. “Kachf el Mahjoub” is a landmark album in Lebanon’s alternative music scene, and the MENA region’s hiphop and indie scenes writ large. At the time of their collaboration, El Sayed was a prolific writer and musician, at ease with a variety of instruments, notorious for his masterful flow in the classical Arabic language, with lyrics tackling both social and political sensitive subjects; Nawfal has previously released an impressive number of albums and EPs, exploring downtempo electronica and ambient dubstep, for a number of Lebanese and international labels. The collision of the former’s brazen, slammed vocals and the latter’s harsh beats works wonders on “Kachf el Mahjoub”, Munma’s sound-world perfectly fitting El Rass’s agitated discourse, alternating between broken beats, elaborate percussion, and ambient layers of synths. At times reminiscent of mutant hiphop outfit Shabazz Palaces, at others of the collaboration between dubstep producer Kode9 and the late vocalist The SpaceApe, this album is an uncanny meeting of Arabic hip-hop and electronica, an exceptional event in the realm of contemporary Lebanese alternative music.

In-demand, groove-fuelled producer Opolopo and 24 Carat singer-songwriter Angela Johnson join forces for the eagerly awaited album ‘Best Of Both Worlds’ – a stellar collection of uplifting, struttin’ soulful house, disco & beat-laden music.

Stockholm-based DJ-producer Opolopo can boast two decades’ worth of productions right across the soulful dancefloor spectrum for labels such as Local Talk, Z Records and Defected. His remix discography includes Gregory Porter, Jungle, Leroy Burgess and Mother’s Favorite Child. NYC native Angela Johnson was a member of acid jazz group Cooly’s Hot Box before enjoying solo success via a string of acclaimed R&B albums including They Don’t Know, It’s Personal and Naturally Me & featuring on a host of singles from Reel People Music.

The album follows previous collaborations and provides another stylish pooling of these two soulful talents. The chemistry fizzes and uplifts as ever, Johnson’s rich, fully-flavoured vocals riding confidently upon struttin’ disco, soulful house & dancefloor dynamite.

Heartbreak, Misery & Death is the seventh studio album by beloved Alabama-based troubadour Grayson Capps--joined by his long-standing guitarist Corky Hughes-- turning his attention to 16 traditional and folk songs by artists ranging from Doc Watson and Jerry Jeff Walker to Randy Newman and Gordon Lightfoot. Introduced as a child to these timeless touchstones by his father, they'd catalyze Capps' love for music at a young age, while informing the Southern Gothic vernacular that he'd go onto so eloquently explore and reimagine in his own body of work.

BLIND EGO ist zurück! Der Gitarrist der deutschen Vorzeige-Artrock-Band RPWL Kalle Wallner hat sein Versprechen wahr gemacht und ein neues Album aufgenommen. "The Hunting Party" drückt im Vergleich zu seiner Hauptband RPWL das Pedal deutlich zugunsten von Rock- und Metal-Elementen durch. Seit dem Debut aus dem Jahre 2007 ist der neue Longplayer bereits sein fünftes Studio-Album. Dazu erschien 2017 ein Live-Album und 2022 sein "beinahe-Instrumental"-Album "Voices" unter eigenem Namen. Wallner scheinen die Ideen und die Lust am Produzieren nicht auszugehen - trotz seiner Hauptband RPWL, dem eigenem Label Gentle Art Of Music, seinem Tonstudio und vielen weiteren Projekten als Produzent und Gitarrist. Dabei stand die Tour des letzten Albums 'Preaching To The Choir' unter keinem guten Stern. Für viele Fans waren diese Konzerte im Frühling 2020 die letzten unmittelbar vor dem Corona-Lockdown und für viele Monate die letzten Konzert-Erlebnisse. Zum großartigen Gesamteindruck des Albums trägt neben Wallners außergewöhnlichem und markantem Gitarrenspiel vor allem der talentierte und erstklassige Sänger Kevin Kearns bei. Kearns, der bei seiner eigenen Metalcore-Band Cyant normalerweise ganz andere Töne anschlägt, entpuppt sich als Idealbesetzung: er interpretiert die Songs auf 'The Hunting Party' ganz besonders emotional, nimmt einen durch alle leisen und lauten Passagen mit - mal schnörkellos, mal filigran, aber immer höchst ausdrucksstark und voller Energie strotzend.?Dazu gesellen sich erneut Ausnahme-Drummer Michael Christoph und Wallners langjähriger musikalischer Weggefährte Yogi Lang (RPWL), der dem Album nicht nur als Mitproduzent und Keyboarder seinen Stempel aufdrückt, sondern sich auch für den glasklaren Mix und das Mastering verantwortlich zeigt.
Kevin Kearns führt hier den Hörer atemberaubend durch alle emotionalen Höhen und Tiefen, ehe die Wogen ruhiger werden und der längste Song des Albums mit einen wunderschönen Gitarren-Solo schließt. Nicht zuletzt wegen solcher Soli fällt einem bei Wallner sehr schnell der Vergleich zur Pink Floyd-Ikone David Gilmour ein. Dieser zentrale Song umfasst sehr gut dieses emotionale und abwechslungsreiche Album.
