Und dennoch ist die im Jahr 2009 gegründete Formation aus Tübingen mit jedem ihrer immer stoisch und schlicht mit dem Bandnamen betitelten Alben stets aufs Neue in vieler Munde, genießt mindestens Respekt, bei etlichen Fans gar unantastbaren Kultstatus - und das nicht nur innerhalb der Punk(Rock)-Basis, sondern auch bis tief in die Alterna- und Metalszene hinein. Große Riffs - mal episch, mal punkruppig, mal schmissig, und so gut wie immer nackenbrechend - und der zuweilen zweistimmige Gesang sind die Kerntrademarks des Vierers, dazu spartanische, aufs Bitternötigste reduzierte englische Lyrics sowie ein magnetisierender Groove, für den unzählige andere Musiker töten würden: HYSTERESE at it's very best. Auch mit Album Nummer fünf pflügen HYSTERESE durch eure Herzen. Wie nicht anders zu erwarten, walzt das Quartett seinen schwermütigen Punk-Rock in die nächste Metamorphose. Lone Ark and The 18th Parallel join forces again! After the critically acclaimed debut ‘Showcase Vol. 1’ (2021), the two spearheads of the European roots reggae scene return with a powerful statement: ‘Man Kill Man’, the first single from the upcoming album ‘Showcase Vol. 2’.

Recorded on 2” tape between Geneva, Switzerland and Cueto, Spain, this new project is another masterpiece of production. It dives deep into the roots sound and playing of the mid 70s reggae with heavyweight drums and bass, razor-sharp rhythm section, and sophisticated flute and vocals arrangements.

Roberto Sánchez, the voice behind Lone Ark, sings about ongoing wars in the world justified by religious beliefs. In today’s climate, where such conflicts persist across the globe, speaking out about this issue is both crucial and deeply relevant. ‘Peace Version’ on the flip is a dub full of message mixed by the man himself, Lone Ark.

In recent years, Midge Ure has spent his time playing live and not has time to fully immerse himself in the studios creating music To that end A Man of Two Worlds is his first album of new material in 12 years. Well worth the wait, the album is a formidable collection of outstanding music, divided into two clear parts.

The first half, World One: Music, consists of eight instrumental pieces, while the second half, World Two: Songs, features eight vocal songs. This concept was partly inspired by the time Midge spent during lockdown listening to instrumental music whilst presenting THE SPACE on Scala Radio. Hearing music that rarely finds a home on mainstream radio, he set about making something without lyrics, where the melodies had to speak for themselves. The eight vocal songs which form the second part of the album, came to Midge as the world reopened. A more divided world, in many ways a much harder and less empathetic one. Sharing an atmosphere with the preceding instrumentals, these songs are incredibly sparse and meditative, and whilst they are subtle, with some songs dealing with the frailty of the human condition, underlying many songs reflect Midge's concerns for the discord infecting world today.

We are honoured to welcome veteran artist Dennis Walks to the Poor Man’s Friend label. Having cut his teeth with Duke Reid in the mid to late 1960s, Dennis Walks has been recording consistently for over 60 years.

Best known for his massive hits “Drifter,” “Heart Don’t Leap,” and “Margaret,” alongside the great The Mudies, Dennis brings a smooth yet powerful voice rooted in R&B and doo-wop influences. Combined with his intricate and thoughtful songwriting, he remains one of our favourite artists from the rocksteady and early reggae era.

“What A Pressure” is a vibrant, horn-led early roots reggae cut that captures the raw spirit and sonic identity of Jamaica’s foundational studio era. Driven by an upbeat tempo and undeniable energy, the track is elevated by rich, full-bodied backing vocals that perfectly frame Dennis Walks’s unmistakable voice. His delivery carries a weight of experience, bringing to life a set of beautifully constructed conscious lyrics that speak with both urgency and soul.

At its core, the production is propelled by a deep, rolling bassline that locks tightly with a heavily saturated rhythm section, creating a warm, analog feel reminiscent of classic recordings from Kingston’s golden age. The horns cut through with authority, adding brightness and drive, while the overall arrangement maintains a tight, authentic groove.

Die aus Las Vegas / Orange County stammende Hardcore-/Punk-Band M.I.A. ist zum ersten Mal seit 40 Jahren mit neuem Material zurück! Nachdem sich die Band 2008 zu einem Gedenkkonzert anlässlich desvorzeitigen Todes ihres Sängers Mike Conley wieder zusammengefunden hatte, spielte sie noch einige Jahre mit dem ursprünglichen Sänger Todd Sampson weiter. Leider verstarb Todd kurz darauf an einem Hitzschlag. Die verbleibenden drei Mitglieder beschlossen, weiterzumachen, wobei Gitarrist Nick Adams nun den Gesang übernahm. Im Jahr 2017 veröffentlichte Darla Records die letzten beiden Alben der Band, ,Notes From the Underground" (1985) und ,After the Fact" (1987), erneut auf CD. Ab 2023 begann Modern City damit, den gesamten Katalog der Band auf Vinyl neu aufzulegen, darunter das bahnbrechende Album ,Murder In a Foreign Place" von 1984 (in Zusammenarbeit mit Alternative Tentacles) und ihren Teil der LP ,Last Rites for Genocide and M.I.A." aus dem Jahr 1982. Die Titel dieser neuen Veröffentlichung wurden im Dezember 2025 aufgenommen und umfassen drei brandneue Songs sowie "'Tomic Bomb", einen sehr alten, unveröffentlichten Song, der 1980 von der allerersten Inkarnation von M.I.A. geschrieben wurde, die damals als The Swell bekannt war. Diese Veröffentlichung ist auf 300 Exemplare limitiert und erscheint mit einem handgedruckten Cover und auf farbigem Vinyl.

A tribute to Bob the Landlord from Rotterdam. Bob the Landlord became known in Rotterdam after appearing in a documentary about the harbor cafe Willems Kantine. He was a loud and direct landlord who rented small rooms to people around the area. Bob was famous for his strong Rotterdam attitude and the way he spoke to people without filtering his words. One of the most famous moments was when Cowboy Jos asked him for five euros. Bob angrily replied, "Five euros? On your face!" This line later became a well-known quote in Rotterdam. Even though he could be rough and strict, Bob became a memorable character and a small cult figure in the city. 4 tracks on one very special release. A1 by Doctr - Our Minds Belong Together. A four-track EP operating between tension and motion. Man in Static features three original tracks and a remix by Adrià from Cúpula Records, Barcelona. The record explores repetition, signal, and pressure, with the club as its transmission point. Written and prepared throughout 2025, the EP is released in 2026 as the first chapter of a series on the Mozali Records electronic imprint.

The EP was mixed by Taro Venn, aka Georj, keeping the sound close to its original form. Mastering was completed by Viceversa, preparing the record for club systems.
