The Dutch groove-driven heavy rock band Hell Valley High releases their highly anticipated debut-lp “Welcome To Hell Valley”. The album was recorded at Big Dog Recordings, just outside of Antwerp, Belgium. All music was recorded live to capture Hell Valley High’s true energy. The title is a nod to the legendary 1994 Kyuss album. At the same time - like the band’s name - the title is an ode to the band's favourite movie Back To The Future. “Welcome To Hell Valley” includes groovy & grungy songs and catchy fiery stoner rock tunes. The album also contains a cover of the song “Send Me A Postcard”, that was originally released in 1970 by Shocking Blue. Hell Valley High is composed of seasoned musicians who have played a lot of shows in The Netherlands and toured Europe extensively. The group features ex-members of Wildebeast, Filthy Felons, Note To Amy, Apehanger and Junkyard Safari. Black and orange coloured vinyl edition.

Sgt Papers are a punk rock duo of brothers Ivan and Felipe Garcia from Hermosillo, Sonora, in the heart of the desert in Mexico. They started in 2017 releasing their first album “Sgt. Papers Lonely Psych Punk Band” independently, creating a buzz in the local independent rock scene and the independent scene in the US. They began touring the US playing both clubs and festivals. They followed this with two more albums in 2019 and 2021 while the same time helping grow the rock scene in Hermosillo. Their following grew along with the band. Their approach to recording and touring has been very DIY. The band’s sound is a combination of psych, garage, punk all played with plenty of distortion.

Many ideas were born and discarded, several sessions were played for inspiration, plenty of songs were produced in advance - the journey is the journey. Then the decisive missing link: krajenski. was able to find the two musicians and producers Dirk Berger (Peter Fox, Seed, Marteria) and Samon Kawamura (Joy Denalane, Max Herre, Till Brönner) for this project. And suddenly the production took a completely different magical turn - away from a "band album" towards a musical experiment.

"Growing up collecting and sampling records was an education, whether we realized it or not," he explained. Grimez records and produces music using analog gear to emulate the instrumentals that he's always loved as he works with some of the best musicians in the Cincinnati area to bring his ideas to life. Among others, Jonathan Luck Spaulding and Josh "Mojo" Cole made several appearances on guitar throughout the record. Every Doctor Bionic release is accompanied by a unique, thought-provoking album cover. Following the success of Highly Refined Pirates' forward-thinking guitar gymnastics and Menos El Oso's groundbreaking glitch rock, Seattle's premier pop revisionists Minus The Bear dug into some of rock music's most ostentatious years for inspiration for their 2007 album, Planet of Ice. The title alone conjures images of Yes's Relayer album art, and the influence of the elder statesmen's symphonic scope can be felt throughout Planet of Ice's lush and intricate arrangements. You can also hear the band channel the ominous instrumental interplay of Lamb-era Genesis on "Dr. L'Ling", the deceptively savvy musicianship and pristine production of Steely Dan on "White Mystery", and the tightrope walk between ethereal space and pre-metal riffage of Pink Floyd's "Echoes" on "Lotus". Not that Minus The Bear completely abandoned their earlier style_elements of Menos El Oso's sample-driven technique can be heard on the lead single "Knights". But the heart of the song ultimately belongs to the haunting Fripp-esque guitar lines spliced between verses. One of the most influential bands to emerge from the UK’s festival scene, the Ozrics layer ambient and ethereal landscapes with freeform dub trips, incredible rave grooves and psychedelic progressive rock. It’s an open exploration of music and the soul.

For over 30 years, the Ozrics have experienced the vicissitudes of the rock and roll life. The band has flourished through a number of line-up changes, spawned several side projects, created their own record label, scored a hit record and sold over a million albums world-wide. And yet, the basic motivation behind the band’s existence has never wavered.

Their signature blend of hippy aesthetics and raver electronics with spiraling guitars, textured waves of keyboard and midi samplers, and super-groovy bass and drum rhythms continues to delight fans across the world to this day.

Kevin Parrot, Brian McGladdery, Roger Tweedale, Gary McDougall and Tony Bamforth formed Samsun at the beginning of 1969. After several tours abroad they came to the attention of Geoff Gill (ex-The Smoke), Wil Malone (ex-Orange Bicycle) and Cliff Wade (ex-Fickle Pickle). They spent a week at Morgan Studios recording an entire album but only three songs were released for the Dutch and UK markets. A few years later, the band rebranded as Oscar.

Buried until now in the vaults, Samsun's self titled album finally emerges blinking into the daylight a mere 52 years after it was recorded to provide yet another missing piece of the seemingly forever incomplete Morgan jigsaw. Taken from the original master-tapes, it provides yet more evidence that, during a five-year period in the late Sixties/early Seventies, the in-house Morgan team was as productive as any similar-sized British pop collective. Agitator is a band that evokes strong emotions. Euphoric acclaim for debut album 'Jag trivs bäst där du är', released earlier this year, drew its energy from the band's ferocious sincerity and pedal to the metal-mentality. The influences from classic post-punk, techno and the noisy guitar scene of the 90s became in Agitator's interpretation something that felt more now than anything. Audiences flocked to the band's gigs, all over the country. Already in the same year, their second album "Vänner för evigt" is released, a monumental work of howling post-punk guitars and synths. In the Agitator's world, the cold, hard and the soft meet, embracing without collision.

elbow return with their seventh studio album on 3rd February 2017. 'Little Fictions' was recorded in Scotland and Manchester and sees the band collaborate with the string players of The Hallé Orchestra, the Hallé Ancoats Community Choir, members of London Contemporary Voices and session drummer Alex Reeves. As with the previous three elbow albums it was produced by Craig Potter.
'Little Fictions' is emphatically a band album. Having written individually for its chart-topping predecessor, 'The Take Off and Landing of Everything', sessions this time were collective affairs, with all four members gathered initially in a house in Scotland before moving to Guy's attic in Prestwich and finalising recordings in the familiar setting of Blueprint studios, Salford.
'Little Fictions' is an upbeat album. All the band talk of the sessions being 'joyful', Mark summarises it as 'the sound of four people who love what they do and each other', of an album that came into being naturally and, at times even unconsciously. Lead single 'Magnificent (She Says)' was embraced for the joyous, thrilling piece of music it is, positive and outward looking. Mark never even considered his audible switch towards electric guitars, most notable on the psychedelic lushness of 'All Disco', until the very end of the process.
The departure of drummer Richard Jupp prior to commencing the writing and recording process in earnest saw early sessions characterised by new approaches to rhythm, with the band utilising percussive noises, sampling and loops to build tracks. The grooves that run through much of the album, from the go-go beats of 'Gentle Storm' through the jagged trip hop of 'Kindling' to the soulful 'Firebrand & Angel' represent both the band's widest musical palette and a newfound sense of experimentation borne from both necessity and desire. That desire fuelled the title track, an eight minute piece that is epic without at any point feeling excessive. As a shorthand for the album it is perfect, crossing musical genres and experimenting with sound in ways that demonstrate the confidence and enthusiasm of the band throughout the recording process.
'Little Fictions' is, therefore, more than just yet another brilliant elbow album. In many ways it marks the start of a new chapter for the band, characterised by a rediscovery of shared purpose in doing the thing that has always brought them together, the place that Mark describes as 'the creative space where we all meet'.

One of the finest Brazilian jazz funk fusion albums ever recorded; thoroughly deserving of its cult status. First official reissue outside of Brazil.

Cesar Camargo Mariano is a celebrated Brazilian jazz pianist, composer and producer, born in Sao Paulo in the 1940's. He has played and worked with the likes of Elis Regina (to whom he was married at one point), Som Tres and Sambalanco Trio and still plays very regularly today.

'Sao Paulo Brasil' saw Mariano and co. step deep into jazz funk/fusion territory - and nail it. Tight, tough drum grooves, intricate arrangements, layers of synthesisers, percussion and FX transport and tell a story from the first beat.

Zum 50sten Jubiläum (genau genommen 51sten) des 1973 erschienenen Solo-Debüts von Haruomi Hosono - dem Kultalbum 'Hosono House' - haben sich auf dieser Compilation verschiedenste Künstler versammelt, um mit ihren eigenen Neuinterpretationen einem Werk Tribut zu zollen, dessen Wirkung und Einfluss weit über Japan hinausreicht und auch heute noch spürbar ist. So nannte u.a. Harry Styles es als eine der Hauptinspirationsquellen für sein Grammy-gekröntes Album 'Harry's House'.
Bekanntheit erreichte Haruomi Hosono auch mit dem Elektropop-Trio Yellow Magic Orchestra, dem auch Yukihiro Takahashi und Ryuichi Sakamoto angehörten.
Die Compilation wurde von Josh Bonati gemastert, das Vinyl für ein besseres Hörerlebnis mit 45rpm geschnitten.
Auch für das Artwork ließ man sich durch das Original inspirieren von Tomoo Gokita.

As sampled by Marcelo D2 on one of our favourite Brazilian hip hop records 'Desafabo', the track features on Claudia’s stunning album of the same name and had never been released on 7"" until this point.

On the flip, a sun dappled, heartfelt and hard to come by track from Cizinha. Originally released on Rozenblit in 1968, it had been, and more importantly still is, a firm favourite of ours. Shimmering horns, deft flutes and a tight percussion section providing the perfect basis to this sweet samba groove."
