Cooper Saver joins the Dream Space family for his first solo EP in 6 years, which was well worth the wait.

Born in LA and now residing in Squamish BC, Cooper ran the infamous Far Away parties in his home city through the mid-to-late 2010’s. Over the past decade, he has released exceptional music and remixes on labels such as Hivern Discs, Permanent Vacation, Internasjonal, DFA and more.

Working often as a collaborator, his recent projects alongside Chris Macintyre as Inner Flight and Night Cycle, and as part of hardcore punk band Self Arrest, all hold up to the same high quality output.

After being in contact with each other for years, it feels like a full circle moment to be working with Cooper and sharing more of his music with the world.

Across all four tracks he dives deeper into the new progression of his sound. From the peak time energy of Depths Of Reality and cosmic radiance of Be Alive, to the understated and shimmering B side of Glider / Running In Circles, this one’s an essential.

The roots of Nightlong can be traced back to Havana in early 2008, where a series of recordings captured some of the most compelling contemporary Cuban singers and musicians. These sessions yielded a striking collection of voices, woodwinds, and brass, all imbued with a distinctive warmth and vitality—material that called for a careful and inspired reinterpretation.

That reinterpretation came from Maayan Nidam. With remarkable intuition and precision, she distilled the essence of these performances and reshaped them into a work that feels both organic and forward-looking. Moving beyond her signature dance floor framework, Nidam explores a wider range of rhythms, textures, and tonal depth, crafting an album that unfolds with subtle complexity and emotional resonance.

The result is a fluid and immersive record—one that transforms its source into something entirely new, while preserving its expressive core.

Pianeti Sintetici ('synthetic planets' in Italian) is a new conceptual project by Davide Perrone (Primal Code) that draws inspiration from the factories of Magrathea, a planet in Douglas Adams' classic space opera The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, where artificial planets are manufactured on commission.

'This concept has always fascinated me, and I chose the name to frame a hypothetical future of synthetic worlds, told with sound,' Davide says. 'I like to imagine the howls of creatures inhabiting solar systems outside our own. Rarefied atmospheres, alien sequences, and unfamiliar tonal scales. So, I see Pianeti Sintetici as an open-ended design research project where I can explore these inspirations.'

Esplora I ('explore') is the first record in a trilogy scheduled for release in 2023. It comes wrapped in a custom-cut embossed sleeve adorned with a captivating interpretation by Hypnus' visual artist Gabriella Holmstrom.

Pulsinger & Irl is the collaboration between Austrian producer and techno pioneer Patrick Pulsinger and Bavarian producer and sound engineer Sam Irl.

After ten years of dub-driven live explorations, Pulsinger & Irl are now focusing on a raw, uptempo, and sample-driven take on techno.
Their new album and live set is stripped to the essentials — two classic samplers, the SP-1200 and MPC2000XL, and a 16-track mixer. By pushing these machines beyond their intended boundaries, they craft a gritty and textural sound.
This is first of two 4-track EPs that will make up the entire album („AALLIIAASS“).


The duo met in 2012 at Pulsinger's Feedback Studio in Vienna, where Sam began as his assistant engineer before becoming a studio partner.
Coming from different musical backgrounds, they found common ground in experimental techno, dub, sampling culture, and analogue gear.

Since their debut album Mud (2016), they've released the EPs Function Creep/Woodpecker (2017), Exu (2018) and Retrieval (2019), along with several remixes — most recently a rework of iO's 1994 classic Claire (2024). Their music has received support from Move D, Gilles Peterson, Mr. Scruff, Lefto, among others.

Over the past three decades, Patrick Pulsinger has released music on his own label Cheap Records as well as R&S, M Plant, Disko B, Compost, and has produced for DJ Hell, Hercules & Love Affair, Elektro Guzzi, Fennesz and others.
Sam Irl has released music since 2007 on labels such as Freerange, Jazz & Milk, Brownswood, Pulver and Frank Music.

Almost 20 years on, Washington-based Drew Sullivan's 2007 debut as Slow Dancing Society hasn't dated the way you'd expect. The Sound Of Lights When Dim is a reserved work with reverberating guitar drifting through broad, unhurried tones. On opener 'Be There' reversed guitar and blurred vocal traces dissolve before they resolve on 'The Delicate Sound Of Silence.' It's deeply emotional ambient with endless oceanic scale and plenty of encouragement to reflect on your own. Disco Collected celebrates the dance music which originally developed from R&B, soul, and funk from the late 60s and 70s and turned into a mighty subculture in discotheques, with Studio 54, Manhattan, New York as one of the most famous and extravagant discos all over the world. Disco used a steady four to the floor beat, string sections, horns which created a perfect setting for DJs who mixed their special 12 inches to an eager dance crowd.

Movies like Saturday Night Fever and Thank God It’s Friday contributed to disco’s mainstream popularity. Compiled on Disco Collected are some of the best, well-known and great disco hits by Rose Royce, Chic, Kool & The Gang, The Trammps, Thelma Houston, KC & The Sunshine Band and 16 more guaranteed floor fillers.

The 2LP Disco Collected is available as a limited edition on disco ball silver vinyl and includes an insert.

The 3rd Loop Progression release leans heavily into 90s jungle vibes, with Frozen in Time by Champa B taking us on a sci fi odyssey with epic pads and intricate amen patterns, all tied together with a spoken word sample which sets the tone for the release.

Replay continues on the retro theme, with Peeb and Pixl slowing things down slightly on Replay. Lo-fi breaks, pads and a bouncing 808 b-line.

On the B Side Galvatron switches things up slightly with Push, a footwork jungle stomper with metallic breaks and a huge 808 bass, guaranteed to get the dancefloor moving.

a time patterned is Lara Somogyi’s second full-length work: an electroacoustic harp record that maps personal transformation through rhythm, resilience and resonance. Built from loops, pedal textures and electronics, virtuosic arpeggios, stacked tape machines, ambient processing, contemporary extended harp techniques, sweeping symphonic language, and field recordings.

Un Canto por México, Vol. 2 is Natalia Lafourcade's second album dedicated to the reconstruction of the Centro de Docementación del Son Jarocho, a cultural building that was damaged after the 2017 Puebla earthquake. The album features unique new interpretations of her earlier songs, as well as collaborations with artists such as Caetano Veloso and Silvana Estrada. This album really showcases the enduring strength of her songs, which remain powerful in any form.

The album was very positively received by fans and critics. It even got nominated for multiple Latin Grammy Awards (Album of the Year, Best Engineered Album) and Grammy Awards (Best Regional Mexican Music Album).

John Weldon "J.J." Cale was an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Though he avoided the limelight (being temperamentally averse to celebrity), his influence as a musical artist has been widely acknowledged by artists like Mark Knopfler, Neil Young, and Eric Clapton, who described him as one of the most important artists in the history of rock.

J.J. Cale is considered to be one of the originators of the Tulsa Sound, a loose genre drawing on blues, rockabilly, country, and jazz. Cale unfortunately passed away in 2013, but his legacy lives on. Number 10 is Cale’s 10th album and contains another wonderful and laid back/mellow collection of typical J.J. Cale tunes. "Traces", "Artificial Paradise", "Low Rides" and "Jailer" are considered part of his best 1990s songs.

Number 10 is available as a limited edition of 1000 numbered copies on turquoise vinyl, and includes an insert.

Celebrating 30 years since ‘Buena Vista Social Club’ was released, this classic will be made available on limited edition pearl vinyl and features the remastered audio and bonus tracks released as part of the album’s 25th Anniversary in 2021.

Masterminded by the trio of Cuban bandleader Juan de Marcos González, American producer and guitarist Ry Cooder, and British producer and label owner Nick Gold, 'Buena Vista Social Club’ is both the name given to this extraordinary group of musicians and the album they recorded in just seven days in 1996 in Havana’s 1950s vintage EGREM studios. It was clear from the atmosphere of the recording sessions that something very special was taking place. However, no one could have predicted that Buena Vista Social Club would become a worldwide phenomenon – awarded a Grammy in 1997 and, at over 8 million copies, outselling any other record in the same genre.

The acclaim of the original album elevated the artists (including Ibrahim Ferrer, Rubén González, Eliades Ochoa, Compay Segundo and Omara Portuondo) to superstar status, inspired an award-winning film by Wim Wenders, a Tony Award-Winning Broadway Musical and contributed to popularising Cuba’s rich musical heritage. Produced by Ry Cooder and Executive Produced by Nick Gold for World Circuit, the timeless quality of the music and the sheer verve of the veteran performers have ensured that this album will go down as one of the landmark recordings of the 20th century.

Vintage Pleasure Boutique returns to the classic Hotsound Records catalogue with Primero’s “Oh Que Calor”, another unmistakable production from Michiel van der Kuy.

This vinyl edition brings together three newly remastered original versions: Extended, Radio and Instrumental, preserving the sound and atmosphere of the original release, alongside fresh remixes from A.P. Mono, Spacehawk and Disco Computer.

Dutch producer Kid Sublime presents his first EP on Makin’ Moves, here he teams up with Philly singer/song writer Lady Alma exploring elements of soul, broken beat and house.

After years of steadily building momentum within the deeper side of drum & bass, Monika now delivers his long-awaited debut album, How We Saw Forever, landing this August on Spearhead Records.

UK-born and now based in New Zealand, Monika has developed a sound that blends deep rolling grooves, soulful textures, delicate musicality and moments of genuine emotional weight. Across the album he moves effortlessly between late-night introspection, euphoric warmth and darker, more experimental territory, showcasing an artist fully confident in his own sonic identity.

Having already made a strong impression through previous releases on Spearhead and appearances across the label’s 20-year anniversary campaign, How We Saw Forever feels like a major step forward creatively. From the haunting beauty of “What Turns Your World” featuring Oktae, through to the nostalgic rave energy of “Mango Pop” and the weightier pressure of “Syndicate”, the album captures Monika’s ability to balance emotion, atmosphere and dancefloor impact without ever feeling formulaic.

At its core, How We Saw Forever is an album about atmosphere, memory and emotion, music designed equally for solitary headphone moments and packed dancefloors at sunrise. There’s a cinematic thread running throughout the project, but also a raw honesty that gives the album its real depth.

Speaking about the album, Monika says:
“This project became a reflection of so many different seasons of life over the last few years. Finnish producer DJ Dats returns with the four-track EP “Phuture 3030” on his own label, Allowance Trax. The title track is built on solid 808 rhythms, a sliding 303 bassline and futuristic synth textures, while “Test Drive” is driven by a heavyweight Moog bassline and shuffling house drums.

Detroit’s Nels the Operator reworks “Phuture 3030” with his modular synth setup, giving the track a rawer, more live feel and a richly layered sound. London’s Moroka remixes “Test Drive” in his signature style, blending house grooves with jazz fusion influences.

Amsterdam-based Moody Mehran captures the atmosphere of a soft Mediterranean sunset perfectly. Just in time for late summer, the Dutch-Iranian artist debuts on SEVEN with four trance-infused, uplifting cuts, alongside a remix by Maruwa. The EP channels a distinct Balearic-leaning, '90s trance sensibility. Melodic, sun-drenched and emotionally direct. Built for open-air floors and festival moments, these tracks are driven by shimmering synth sequences, rolling basslines, crisp percussion and psychedelic sound design. It’s a sound reminiscent of trance’s golden era reduced to its essence: simple, euphoric, and highly effective.

A single track, four hands. Damage Music puts Alexander Kowalskis "Sinee" through the machine and lets three producers find their own way in. The original stands. You are Spring!" beginnt mit einer gewundenen Klangwand, A-cappella-Stimmen, die sich in üppiger Harmonie überlagern und den halb-titelsgebenden Frühling besingen. Stell dir vor: ein Feuerwerk aus glockenförmigen Blüten; Rosa, Citrin und Buttergelb; der Himmel klar, eine Lunge voll Blau; Wärme, überall, die die über den Winter geheilte Haut küsst und sich nach Berührung sehnt; Leichtigkeit nach dem Leiden; ein tiefer Atemzug nach dem Ersticken. "Don't die now / There's life to be found now,", beginnt sie. In Texten, die von Gwendolyn Brooks' Gedicht "To The Young Who Want To Die" inspiriert sind, formuliert Tasha die These dieses Albums mit exquisiter Präzision. Es gibt Jahreszeiten der Härte, Jahreszeiten der Schwierigkeit, ja. Aber hier, in diesem Album, meditieren wir über den Frühling über eine Zeit des Feierns, die umso süßer ist, weil wir wissen, was man ertragen muss, um dorthin zu gelangen. "Alive now / It's spring now / Alive now / You're spring now" schließt sie, getragen von den samtigen Stimmen von Jamila Woods und Taja Cheek von L'Rain, die auf diesem Track zu hören sind, und lädt uns in die paradiesische Schatzkiste ein, die sie hier geschaffen hat. Für Tasha ist der Frühling ein Ort, an dem wir ankommen, aber auch ein Zustand, in dem wir uns befinden, eine Art, wie wir geworden sind. Wenn sie darüber spricht, was das Album ihrer Hoffnung nach vermitteln soll, erläutert sie die Bedeutung von "You Are Spring!" weiter und sagt: Es ist eine Art zu sagen, dass du das bist, worauf sich andere Menschen freuen; du bist das, worauf wir warten; du bist das Schöne." Wenn es im vorherigen Album um Sehnsucht ging, darum, sich nach einer Fülle zu strecken, von der du weißt, dass sie kommt, dann ist "You are Spring!" eine Gelegenheit, innezuhalten und alles in dich aufzunehmen, sobald du in deine Fülle eingetreten bist. Das heißt, You Are Spring!" ist in seiner Aufmerksamkeit für die Glückseligkeit so eindringlich wie sein Ausrufezeichen, aber es hat auch einen klaren Blick auf die Welt um sich herum. Die zweite Hälfte des Albums bewegt sich auf diesem schmalen Grat zwischen Wonne und Untergang. Sieh dir zum Beispiel "Actor" an und seine Auseinandersetzung mit den Gesten, die wir in einer Liebe machen, die hohl geworden ist, gefolgt von Special" und seinem aufwendig arrangierten Klangteppich, komplett mit Tashas Klarinetten-Debüt. Im letzten Titel, Quick!", steigt Tashas Stimme in einer fast Stephen-Sondheim-artigen Tonfolge empor und drängt uns singend: "Quick! See how this beauty rushes by?" Es gibt Dissonanzen im Klimpern der Akkorde, das Keuchen ihrer Finger, die über den Gitarrenhals gleiten, eine raue, fast wie von einer Kassette klingende Qualität der Produktion, wieder von Gregory Uhlmann. Aber wir werden noch nicht aus dem Garten vertrieben; der Song klingt langsam aus, zurück in den Glockenblumenhain von Tashas sanftester Stimmlage. "You Are Spring!" fordert uns heraus, uns an unserer Gegenwart zu erfreuen, uns selbst als die lang ersehnte Jahreszeit des neuen Lebens und Wachstums zu sehen. Und wenn der Winter wiederkommt, wie er es immer tun muss, die Trauer sich einschleicht, Herzschmerz vor der Tür steht, gibt Tasha uns etwas, an dem wir uns festhalten können. Die Gewissheit, dass der Frühling wiederkommen wird, selbst dann. Dass die Schönheit und Fülle, die uns jetzt umgibt, uns wieder umgeben wird, noch einmal.

Mit ihren ersten beiden Alben verwandelten Dream Unending die vertraute Architektur des Death Doom in einen eigenen Ort. Eine Sprache, in der tiefste Schwere mit Progressive Rock, Ambient-Musik, jazzinspirierter Improvisation und unverblümter emotionaler Offenheit koexistieren konnte.
Auf dem neuen Album 'Certain Uncertainties' bleibt dieser Ausdruck intakt, doch der Blick hat sich verändert. Wo frühere Werke oft nach oben und außen zu greifen schienen, kehrt dieses auf die Erde zurück: schlanker im Aufbau, rauere Kanten und von einer ausgeprägt nächtlichen Atmosphäre geprägt. Man könnte es vielleicht 'Adult Contemporary Doom' nennen; Musik von erheblichem Gewicht, die dennoch gelernt hat, wie viel gesagt werden kann, indem man bestimmte Dinge ungesagt lässt.

Aufgenommen mit weniger Schichten und einem bewusst unmittelbaren instrumentalen Ansatz, gibt 'Certain Uncertainties' den einzelnen Darbietungen Raum zum Atmen. Derrick Vellas Gitarren bewegen sich mit ungewohnter Freiheit durch Blues-, Jazz- und Progressive-Vokabular und tragen zuweilen den offen geführten Charakter amerikanischer Roots-Musik in Gefilde, die man im Doom selten antrifft. Justin DeTores Schlagzeug ist durchgehend präsent, verleiht dem Album eine physischere Dynamik und hilft den Kompositionen, ihre Ziele mit größerer Sparsamkeit zu erreichen. Dennoch hat die Prägnanz die Vorliebe von Dream Unending für Entladung nicht geschmälert: Insbesondere das Eröffnungs- und das Schlussstück steuern auf enorme Druckpunkte zu, während die Zwischenräume Vellas Spiel zum Wandern, Reagieren und gelegentlichen Unvollkommenheiten einladen. Jeder Song funktioniert als eigene Vignette – teils Wüsten-Träumerei, teils After-Hours-Noir – durchzogen von Spuren westlicher Landschaften, dämmrigen Räumen und leeren Straßen.

Diese erdgebundene Qualität passt zu einem Album, das sich im Kern mit Instabilität und Wiederaufbau beschäftigt. Entstanden in einer Phase, in der Vella sein eigenes Vertrauen ins Risikoeingehen neu aufbaute, trägt 'Certain Uncertainties' Zweifel in sich, ohne der Verzweiflung zu verfallen. Die versehrte Balladenhaftigkeit von 'I Carry Your Burden' (mit Gastgesang von Brendan Radigan), die improvisatorische Offenheit des Titeltracks und die hässlicheren Ausbrüche des Death Doom gehören alle zum selben emotionalen Terrain: Schönheit und Unbehagen dürfen denselben Rahmen einnehmen. Wenn das frühere Werk von Dream Unending eine andere Welt jenseits der Grenzen schwerer Musik imaginierte, findet 'Certain Uncertainties' etwas ebenso Seltsames in der Welt unter unseren Füßen. Ein Album voller trockener Luft, langer Schatten, ungelöster Fragen und dem sturen Impuls, sich weiter durch sie hindurchzubewegen.

Das Wiener Kollektiv TAKESHI'S CASHEW präsentiert sein neues, drittes Album "Planet Odyssey 64". Nach weltweiten Tourneen mit ihren ersten beiden Alben, gönnte sich die Band eine kreative Pause und kehrt nun mit neuem Sound zurück. Der bisherige analoge Cosmofunk der Band wurde um Electro-Einflüsse erweitert. Die sechs Musiker experimentierten mit alten Synthesizern, ließen sich von vintage Computerspielen inspirieren und schufen so ein neuartiges Klanguniversum. Ihre besondere Spielfreude brachte die Idee für eine Art Konzeptalbum namens "Planet Odyssey 64" hervor. Zahlreiche Bands kreisen nach ihrem zweiten oder dritten Album um Fragen der Standortbestimmung - auch Takeshi's Cashew mussten eine Weiche stellen bzw. wollten ein Konzept: nun treffen - back to the 90s - Mittelalterwelten auf Game Boy & Nintendo 64. Wie die loopbasierten Klangwelten der ersten Konsolen oder die höfischen Tanzmusiken, arbeiten Takeshi's Cashew auf Planet Odyssey 64 ebenfalls mit zyklischen Figuren. Nicht nur 8-Bit-Games erzeugten ihre Atmosphären mit reduzierten Mitteln - auch die Wiener Instrumentalisten haben ihre Werkzeugkiste im Vergleich zum bisherigen Ouvre komprimiert. Di verwendeten Leitmelodien und Chiptunesounds gedenken Videospielikonen wie "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" oder "Pokémon Saphir Edition". Das rhythmische Amalgam hingegen formt ein Hybrid aus synthetischen Elementen und organischen Bausteinen. Präsent im Klangraum steht ein vorwärts kippendes Krautrock-Gerüst samt E-Bass und Schlagzeug. Die zweite Säule übernimmt ein monophoner Bass-Synthesizer namens Roland SH-101. Völlig verabschiedet haben sich Takeshi's Cashew trotzdem nicht von ihrer originären Herangehensweise, dem Jam. So entstand z.B. binnen eines Tages der vibrierende "Operator" auf dem alten Moog-Synthesizer eines Familienmitgliedes. Im Kern dient diese Musik als Transzendenzapparat, die Hörer*innen kehren mit heiterer Verwandlung von dieser Odyssey zu sich selbst zurück. Most reggae fans will be familiar with the Heptones’ Lee Perry sessions including their outstanding “Garden Of Life” from 1979.

Few but the most grizzled collector knew that Sibbles had recorded a deep roots cut in Toronto several years earlier in 1975 while living in Canada.
Urgent, soulful and raucous with its killer horns section and bubbling organ, this version of Garden Of Life is actually Leroy’s favourite.

Vier Jahre brodelte es im Berliner Untergrund: Nach zwei DIY-Tape-Releases durchbrechen SEK die Flanke und präsentieren mit Wallensteins Garage ihr erstes Album auf Vinyl ein Debüt, das gleichermaßen Geschichtserzählung, Konzeptalbum und ausufernde Jam-Session ist. SEK benannt nach den Anfangsbuchstaben der Nachnamen ihrer Mitglieder - Paul-Willy Stoyan (Gavial, Jacke Schwarz), Georg Edert (Elder, Gaffa Ghandi) und Lucas Kazzer (Gaffa Ghandi, Borders Down) - vereint drei Musiker, die seit Jahren in der Berliner Underground-Szene aktiv sind. Ihre gemeinsame Sprache findet sich zwischen Improvisation, historischer Erzählung und druckvollem Rock. Was die drei verbindet, ist weniger ein gemeinsamer Stil als die Lust am Ausprobieren: ausufernde Proben, lange Improvisationen und die Suche nach Klanglandschaften, die ebenso sperrig wie eingängig sein können. Was 2022 während des pandemiebedingten Lockdowns mit stundenlangen Jams begann, entwickelte sich in den vergangenen vier Jahren zu einer eigenwilligen Mischung aus Psychedelic Rock, Krautrock und einer Prise Prog. Die Band selbst nennt diesen Sound augenzwinkernd HOR Historian Oriented Rock: Musik, die historische Stoffe nicht illustriert, sondern in Klang übersetzt. Die Inspiration für die Songs stammt aus dem Dreißigjährigen Krieg (16181648), insbesondere aus dem Leben des böhmischen Feldherrn Albrecht Wenzel Eusebius von Wallenstein und den Ereignissen rund um die Schlacht bei Lützen (1632). Das musikalische Arsenal ist ebenso vielseitig wie die erzählte Geschichte: verfuzzte Gitarren mit wabernden Delays treffen auf einen galoppierenden Bass und treibende Drums, getragen von träumerischen Keyboards. Immer wieder öffnen sich freie, fast chaotische Passagen, in denen Harmonie und Rhythmus auseinanderbrechen wie Schlachtordnungen, die im brutalen Nahkampf ihre Form verlieren. An anderer Stelle schaffen sanfte Mandolinenklänge Momente der Ruhe, bevor sie sich in schwere, schmerzvolle Trauermusik verwandeln, inspiriert von Doom und Drone Metal. Zwischen hypnotischen Grooves, improvisatorischer Freiheit und cineastischer Dramaturgie erschaffen SEK einen Sound, der Vergangenheit nicht nachstellt, sondern neu erfahrbar macht.
