"Back in 2022, Ban Ban Ton Ton raved about George T’s then digital-only release, “Roll On, Kings Cross”. We described it as a “dynamite dose of poetry and digidub.” Likening the prose – which describes a train journey from the coast to the city – to Michael Smith and Joe Duggan, while comparing the production to Dennis Bovell’s remixes of Jarvis Cocker’s “Swanky Modes”, and The Sabres Of Paradise’s “Wilmot”. Melodica-led with a hefty post-punk flavour, its dub, which focuses on manipulating and morphing the bass-line, we called “hollowed out house.”

These tracks have now been pressed to vinyl for the second release on new imprint Noetic Rhythm, where they’re joined by Leonidas’ “Great Northern” mix. Eschewing his usual futuristic ethno techno jacking, here he drops into roots reggae. Creating something more skanking, more stepping. An extended “discomix” showered in filtered, Mutron Bi-phased percussion, ghostly horns and peppered with the odd syndrum pop. Washes of sampled surf appropriately accompanying George informing us that “to the left there’s the sea.”

The 12 also features, “Dr Doctor”, a fresh collaboration with Yas Mine, The singer / guitarist’s French vocals countering George’s Matt Johnson-esque delivery, and a John Barry / “Midnight Cowboy”-like melodica melody serenading the song’s slow, squelchy, electronic skanking. While there have been countless performances, recordings and releases of Glass's works, this is the first time that an entire album is devoted to new studio recordings of his original film scores. Over the past decades Philip Glass has become a household name in contemporary music thanks to his prolific activity and output across many music genres, including operas, concertos, symphonies and music for theatre. He has also systematically sought out collaborations with musicians and artists from all over the world. Due to his highly idiosyncratic and distinctive style, the American composer has been considered one of the frontrunners of minimalism in music, even though he himself regards his work rather as music with repetitive structures, in a continual search to integrate harmony, melody and rhythm into a single musical expression. In 2025 he received the World Soundtrack Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the art of film music.

Since the last two years FloFilz played in the first league of european beat-producers. With his smooth jazz samples he catches them all: his 46.000 (!) Soundcloud-Fans, the "Beatgeeks" from Berlin, the "Rapkids" from the Splash Festival and the Boiler Room in London. With "Cenário" FloFilz continues his musically city-trip, which started in Paris with "Metronom" in 2014. For his new album he travelled with the photographer Robert Winter to Lisbon. The impressions from the trip FloFilz put into 16 new tracks, on two of them he gets support by jazzsinger Olivia Wendlandt (Relaén).

All Shook Up is the fifth studio album by the American rock band Cheap Trick, originally released in 1980 and produced by legendary producer George Martin, best known for his work with The Beatles.

The album followed the huge success of At Budokan and Dream Police and found the band working with a new producer for the first time in several years. George Martin gave the recordings his own touch, while Cheap Trick remained true to the sound and songwriting that had made them popular. All Shook Up reached number 24 on the Billboard 200 and was certified Gold in the United States. "Burning Down Paradise", das sechste Studioalbum der NWOBHM-Legende Tokyo Blade, erblickte ursprünglich im Jahre 1995 über Fresh Fruit das Licht der Welt. Fresh Fruit war ein Sublabel von SPV in Hannover. High Roller Records legt »Burning Down Paradise« jetzt zum allerersten Mal als Vinyl auf.
Die Platte markierte die Wiedervereinigung von Gitarrist Andy Boulton und Sänger Alan Marsh, die das erste Mal seit dem Debütalbum von Tokyo Blade im Jahre 1983 wieder gemeinsame Sache machten. Die damalige Besetzung wurde komplettiert von John Wiggins an der zweiten Gitarre, Colin Riggs am Bass und Marc Angel hinterm Schlagzeug.
„Ich denke, alle zwölf Songs haben den Test der Zeit gut überstanden“, kommentiert Gitarrist und Gründungsmitglied Andy Boulton heute. „Allerdings war es eine schwierige Zeit für Hardrock und Heavy Metal. Der musikalische Geschmack hatte sich drastisch verändert. Das Album wurde in einem kleinen Studio direkt außerhalb von Marlborough in Wiltshire aufgenommen. Zusammen mit einem Tontechniker namens Nick Beer. Ich nehme an, man könnte sagen, dass die ganze Band »Burning Down Paradise« produziert hat. Als Hauptsongwriter hatten Alan und ich am Ende aber wohl den größten Einfluss auf den Sound der Platte.“
Laut Aussage des Gitarristen erntete das Album zum Erscheinungszeitpunkt unterschiedliche Reaktionen: „Die Meinungen gingen auseinander, einige alte Fans mochten unsere neue Richtung nicht, während andere positiver eingestellt waren. Und was die Kritiker an sich betrifft, auf die höre ich eh nicht. Meine Einstellung ist: Wenn dir die Musik nicht gefällt, hör sie dir einfach nicht an.“
Nach der Veröffentlichung von "Burning Down Paradise" gingen Andy Boulton und Alan Marsh abermals getrennte Wege. Tokyo Blade lösten sich (zwischenzeitlich) auf: „Wir hatten die Schnauze voll, ohne Unterstützung von irgendwoher weiterzumachen. Es war eine schlechte Zeit für unsere Art von Musik, und wir sahen keinen Sinn darin, die Band weiterhin am Leben zu halten und unsere Kraft zu vergeuden.“

Ich dachte, es wäre cool, eine Reihe von Songs aufzunehmen, die nie wirklich aufgenommen wurden, und zwar auf eine etwas durchdachtere Art und Weise. Aufgenommen auf einem Tascam Porta One im alten Beton-Stulogulo mit einer imaginären Band namens ,Men in Green Striped Trousers". Der ursprüngliche, von Sharp Pins geprägte Garage-Pop-Sound in seiner ganzen rohen, rauen und kreischenden Pracht _ Ich glaube, ich habe davon etwa 50 Exemplare angefertigt. Nun gehört mein Teenagertraum Ihnen.".

Fidel Kato is a producer based in Rome, Italy. In its sound we hear reminiscences of the boom hip-hop mixed with Latin jazz and today's Lo-Fi trends. Der Weg zu ,Welcome to Earth" von den Death Valley Girls beginnt in der Asche des Eaton-Feuers in Kalifornien. Nachdem sie ihr Zuhause in Altadena und kurz darauf auch ihren geliebten Hund Tommy verloren hatte, sah sich die Leadsängerin und Songwriterin Bonnie Bloomgarden mit Fragen konfrontiert, auf die es keine einfachen Antworten gab: Was überlebt eine Katastrophe? Was bleibt nach einem Verlust übrig? Wie baut man ein Leben wieder auf, wenn die Dinge, die es einst ausmachten, verschwunden sind? Das Album, das aus diesen Fragen hervorging, gehört zu den intimsten und tiefgründigsten Werken, die die Death Valley Girls je geschaffen haben. Im gesamten Schaffen der Band haben sie Musik sowohl als Feier als auch als Suchaktion betrachtet.
