Kompakt welcomes a force to be reckoned on the fitting home of Speicher - Denmark's Rune Riley Kölsch. How appropriate that this talent was bestowed the (real) same name of the liquid gold that cascades from the taps of local watering holes in the city of Cologne

Brazil-born, Barcelona-based DJ and producer ANNA has garnered international accolades from Mixmag, BBC Radio 1 and others with recent releases on the likes of Diynamic and Turbo Recordings. But her skill set reaches far beyond the studio realm as 2017 marked her busiest year to date. Beyond a whirlwind of festival appearances (including Movement and Awakenings), ANNA had the opportunity to perform at iconic clubs such as
DC-10 and Fabric.

This passion for the dancefloor was fuelled by a youth spent in the DJ booth of her father's night club - and it now leads to her first outing with Kompakt:
SPEICHER 101 carries the DNA of both the studio head and the club dweller, crafting two propulsive, massive belters out of simple, but effective ingredients. HIDDEN BEAUTIES dominates the A-side with raw bass power and sizzling drops of acid, while the flipside brings you THE DANSANT, one of these spiralling minimalistic techno bangers that just seem to grow indefinitely. The release is also a personal milestone for ANNA, as Kompakt's records have always been a staple in her sets: I have so many
records from Kompakt, I've had them since I started, and even though I played so many different styles through the years, I can safely say that Kompakt has always been in my crate.' Her very own release on the label, however, seemed like a distant dream', she says. Turns out it wasn't that distant after all - thanks to her knack for seriously catchy techno with a punch, nurtured by hard work and persistent focus. A perfect fit for Speicher.

2024 Repress

The year could not be complete without having a new release from the man behind the hat - KÖLSCH. He returns to SPEICHER following a phenomenal year of touring that took his DJing from the top of the Eifel Tower to the main stage of Tomorrowland. His IPSO imprint evolved into a global event and he released together with TIGA 'HAL', one of the biggest tracks of this summer.

For SPEICHER 106, he takes an unexpected turn with EMOTICON. Found sounds take on new sonic form and the result is an unconventionally unique groove odyssey. LITTLE DEATH is anything but tragic or small. A choir chant explodes over top of an enchanting house beat which elevates over time to an almighty apex that we have learned to love and rely on from KÖLSCH.

Siberian born and since 2010, a proud resident of Naples where her musical journey began, Anfisa Letyago has brought to the next generation of techno DJ/producers a sincerity and passion few others can. Of which she is successfully channeling to an incredible growing fanbase. From her releases on Drumcode, Rekids and her newly minted imprint N:S:DA, Kompakt are ecstatic to welcome her to our long running SPEICHER series.

“Keep Flight” is bare and punishing. Taking cues from the greats – think early Hood, Broom or Surgeon – Anfisa takes us down a relentless wormhole fortified by a pulsing vocal and EBM synth. In contrast, the flip side “Rhythm Tension” is a more slowed down, acid squelched affair where Anfisa’s vocals keep the vibe fully in check for those feel good moments everyone is currently needing in a DJ set.

Anfisa Letyago stammt ursprünglich aus Sibirien und ist seit 2010 stolze Einwohnerin von Neapel, wo sie auch ihre musikalische Reise begonnen hat. Sie hat der nächsten Generation von Techno-DJs und -Produzenten eine Aufrichtigkeit und Leidenschaft vermittelt, die nur wenige andere haben. Diese Leidenschaft hat sie erfolgreich an ihre stetig wachsende Fanbase weitergegeben. Nach Veröffentlichungen auf Drumcode, Rekids und ihrem neu gegründeten Imprint N:S:DA freuen wir uns sehr, Anfisa als Gast in unserer langjährigen KOMPAKT Extra/SPEICHER-Reihe begrüßen zu dürfen. "Keep Flight" ist so einfach wie gnadenlos. Erinnerungen werden wach an einige der ganz Großen - an den frühen Hood, Broom oder Surgeon. Anfisa führt uns in ein unerbittliches Wurmloch, dessen Sog durch eindringliche Vocals und EBM-artige Synthies noch verstärkt wird. Im Gegensatz dazu ist die Rückseite "Rhythm Tension" ein entschleunigter Acid-Mahlstrom, bei der Anfisas Gesang für genau die Wohlfühlmomente sorgt, die wir alle derzeit in einem DJ-Set brauchen.

Three years on from the bands acclaimed ‘Grateful End’ album, and following up last years reissue of their live release ‘Psychedelic Scum Freaks’. Taipei's underground psych monsters Dope Purple return with their new album proper, ‘This Is The Harsh Trip For New Psyche’

The album is co released again by Riot Season & WV Sorcerer Productions and is available on three vinyl variants, and also digitally.

The album, it's a mixture of harsh noise and psych rock, the noise element being well recorded and presented so we can hear many details, and blends perfectly with the other instruments in all frequencies. The whole album moves between a spectral sadness and insanity, each track takes a rather different direction, recognising the influence of Classic Japanese bands such as High Rise, Mainliner, and Les Rallizes Dénudés.

The album is a collaboration with Berserk, a young underground pioneer from the Taipei scene, and has been performing chaotic frequency manipulation and carefully textured post-apocalyptic soundscape since 2015.

Gerald Mitchell is back on Mother Tongue after the now classic "Another Day" with a new Los Hermanos EP, this time bringing it back to the origins with the Detroit Techno opus "Family".

Recorded in Tokyo with Ian O'Brien, this special extended version has "Anthem" written all over it. Also included is the futuristic tech funk of "Paradigm 4th Shifter" and the intergalactic beatless space jam "Far Beyond Sight".

RT PRO is the new Right Tempo line “for professional use”, addressed to a discerning audience and released on 12” Single format along with a curated packaging. This first instalment is a follow-up to the acclaimed "The Congregation - Jazz Alliance International" compilation by Jazzcat. It features never previously released and brand new remixes of the mythical "Seasons in My Mind" track by Japanese producer Yellowtail feat. legendary jazz singer Mark Murphy. In addition to the Original, come remixes by Further Out Recordings’ head Richard E feat. saxophonist/flutist Jake Telford, by Frankson (one half of the British electronic duo Part Time Heroes), and by all-round musician and producer Emanative, who invited his longtime friend and collaborator, keyboardist Jessica Lauren, to join him for this special project.

Pastime Paradise, first released by Stevie Wonder in 1976 got a new lease of life when sampled by Coolio on his Grammy Award winning Gangsta’s Paradise. It has also over the years been covered by Patti Smith as well as our fave version, courtesy of Latin percussionist Ray Barretto. First released on CTI in 1981, to this day it remains a staple for both the jazz and soul rooms. Never before released on a 12 inch, Major Keys continue their fine form with this extended floor filler that will appeal to DJ’s and collectors alike. It also flips it with La Cuna and Mambotango taken from the same 1981 LP. This is a special EP and one that you will want for your collection.

With their latest album, 'Triptyques', Spëcht promises an immersive listening experience that retains the deep-rooted essence of the band while exploring new musical horizons.

After a period of artistic development and introspection, Spëcht has decided that the name change is a natural step in their musical journey. The name 'Spëcht' not only reflects their renewed focus and energy but also their commitment to creating music that is both powerful and sophisticated, just like the bird of the same name.

Triptyques' is an album composed of three parts, each highlighting a unique aspect of the band. This conceptual masterpiece takes the listener on a journey through various musical landscapes, from melodic harmonies and huge percussion elements with complex rhythms to bold experimental sounds. Each 'triptych' stands alone as an individual work of art, yet together they form a cohesive and captivating story.

With 'Triptyques', Spëcht demonstrates a maturity and depth in their musical expression that will surprise and charm both loyal fans and new listeners.

Settle Down made 2023 his own. And with an ever higher purpose, he strides into 2024 in his now trademark inimitable style with a proper double A 12” in the shape of ‘The Special’ and ‘Twos On A Pack Of Ten’.

They mark the second foray on the artists newly minted label, SDWN. And they are also the first Settle Down release since his slew of debut releases last year, and signify the beginning of what’s about to be a sonic assault from a prolific and dedicated artist.

With these tracks already on dub for some time, and now finally to be released into the wild, both sides have seen heavy rotation from a who’s who of discerning DJs, featuring in a host of high profile sets, and look set to cause further damage in the near future.

2023 was quite the introduction to Settle Down. But in 2024 Settle Down is looking to raise the bar even higher, and SDWN002 is just the start of what’s to come.

We are proud to release first full length album on the series by FAKK, the boss of “under.time”, a label and event series running in Rosario, Argentina. The album is named “El cementerio de las maquinas parlantes” which translates to “The graveyard of speakers” and have a mystical, ghostly feel to it. This project was a while in the making with an idea to be full club ready release with 8 tracks ranging through a specific spectrum of electronic music through the worldview of the artist resulting in this 2x12”. This marks an official pathway for more albums on the label in the future but that’s another topic. It is a joy to see it turn out how it did with a super high chance sending some speakers to beyond repair state in the world that we are living in.

The Lovely Eggs return with new single 'My Mood Wave' to be released February 9th digitally & on a 7" single to follow March 15th. New album due in May. It's been four years since the world heard any new music from our heroes in psych-punk-power duo The Lovely Eggs. Four long years since the release of their Number 1 Independent Chart topper, 'I Am Moron'. But it's not like they've been lazy, oh no. They made their own TV series EGGS TV and hosted it on YouTube, they duetted with Iggy Pop, piled into their van and played a load of sold out gigs and festivals, spent two years fighting to save Lancaster Music Co-Op (a community rehearsal rooms and recording studio where they live), and then they got their heads down and wrote a new album_ Due in May, the new Lovely Eggs album was recorded by the band at home in Lancaster with production work from Flaming Lips producer Dave Fridmann. They flew to America in December 2023 to mix the album in Fridmann's studio in upstate New York and we'll all get the chance to hear the first results of these sessions on the 9th of February, when the band will unveil the album's first single, 'My Mood Wave'. "My Mood Wave is kind of an internal thought monologue," says Eggs singer and guitarist Holly. "It's a brain on a surfboard, trying to navigate the barrage of daily shit that gets washed up each day. It's a coping mechanism handbook for people who sometimes find the world too much." 'My Mood Wave' has an uplifting contemporary feel, haunted by a West Coast retro vibe that pulses and shimmers with a gorgeously addictive melody that will float around your head for days. Although the single will be released digitally on February 9th, there will also be a physical 7" with the customary mind-bulging artwork from Casey Raymond, and an exclusive track tantalisingly titled 'Crab Shell' on the flipside. The 7" will be released on Aquamarine transparent vinyl and in true Lovely Eggs style. More details on The Lovely Eggs new album to follow...

Yuki Kanesaka, the multi-instrumentalist/Producer who's been the Mastermind behind his monolog project recordings is back with the delicious uptempo cover of "Watermelon Man". He indulges us with star-studded features of Bill Summers, the percussionist of the Head Hunters and Curtis "Fitz" Williams, the musical director and keyboardist/saxophonist of Kool & the Gang. The backstory is, Yuki traveled all the way to Bill Summer's home studio on Valence Street, New Orleans to record Bill playing a variety of alluring percussive instruments. That includes playing Hindewhu, the style of singing/whistle-playing of Central Africa mixed with a Peruvian Pan flute Zampoña much like the infectious Head Hunters version. Other notable instrumentations include congas, and shekere and Bill's hand scratching used as a human shaker. Curtis Williams plays the lead soprano sax melody we all know and love, with some added clavinet that adds extra sugar to the watermelon funk. B side features a special drum break version called "Bill's Valence Street Jam", so you can really savor the mouthwatering groove of the Watermelon Man. Both tracks are performed, produced, mixed, and recorded by monolog aka Yuki Kanesaka.
