Groovedeep, the international supergroup comprised of Toronto’s Ciel and DC stars James Bangura and Jackson Ryland aka JR2k, brings Fixed Rhythms a 12” of four racing, groovy, energetic, funky and lush techno cuts. This is the second vinyl outing by the group, the first one being the recent “Funk Solo” on Turbo Recordings featuring remixes by Batu, Shed, and Mark Broom.

“Speed Queen” opens up the EP with hypnotizing techno that eschews any four-on-the-floor demands. Up-tempo with a touch of house and handdrums and a tantalizing vocal clip. “Witness” has a similar structure…handdrums, non four-on-the-floor kick drum composition, rhythmic vocal chop-work, but whereas A1 is the leap into the deep, “Witness” has us diving down, exploring the eerier depths.

Whip to the B-side with “Flashback”, a slightly more east coast club track while also incorporating a bit more of a pummeling kick. The aforementioned Groovedeep sonic signatures are there, and…can’t get enough of the handdrums?!?! Well then just let that last “Witness (Bongo Heavy VIP)” track slide in, a slightly meaner (and of course bongo-ier) boom of a take on the A2.

Sol Novo is a tale of three parts, created by João Comazzi and Murrin of Púca Sounds & Jogada. In many ways a sequel—and a not-so-distant cousin—to 2022’s Cavalo, the pair return to blend their references into a new, ultra-visual language. Spinning through a sonic world mired as much in greenery as it is in the underground, Sol Novo invites you along for the ride.

The title track, "Sol Novo," whirls into a dubbed-out dawn break, collaging through samples and organic ear-catchers while sun-drenched choruses weave through the mix, reverberating as the light lingers.

On the second track, "Pindorama," Paszarinha’s call to the space-warp curls out from under dark blue bass. Fitting equal parts dreamland and dance floor, the track builds a world to get lost in through ever-orbiting breaks layered with Côco rhythms echoing in the deep.

The final track, "Brasia," arrives in full color: a story led by elements of Gagaku with Axêxê chants and a shimmer bathed in vintage synths. Landing like a call to movement that pulls you up and keeps you moving, it’s a kaleidoscopic sound caught between ancient ritual and electronic nostalgia.

Trelik is an A-grade label for minimal heads and now the founder, Baby Ford, welcomes back fellow micro-house specialist Ion Ludwig for vital two-tracker. 'It Broke With Speed' starts with jittery rhythms and blurts of synth as the rubbery bass rolls on and the percussion is spindled lightly up top. It's a more fulsome sound than you might expect from this producer but the art is in the intricacies of its layers. 'Archa Edel' on the B is quick and deep, speedy but tightly controlled with fluttering snares peeling off the groove and cosmic whimsy existing in the pads. Classy cuts as always.

Originally released by Time Capsule in 2021 and long out of print, Stories From Another Time 1982-1988 returns in an upgraded edition following years of demand and rising collector prices on the secondhand market. Widely regarded as a modern cult classic, Mário Rui Silva’s visionary recordings blend acoustic folk, cinematic soul, spiritual jazz and saudade-filled Lusophone rhythm into a deeply timeless and universal work that transcends genre and geography.

This new edition features half-speed mastering cut at Metropolis alongside an expanded 4-page insert with a tribute essay and unseen photographs following Silva’s passing in 2024.

The roots of Angolan popular music explored in the meticulous guitar studies of Mário Rui Silva. For fans of Naná Vasconcelos, John Hassell’s Fourth World ambient, Eduardo Mateo’s psychedelic folk and Cameroonian electronic music visionary Francis Bebey.

Whether on mesmerising acoustic ballads or hypnotic groove-led tracks, the music of Angolan guitarist, researcher and intellectual Mário Rui Silva has a beguiling, melancholy quality, woven into the dynamics of his deft guitar playing.Rhythmically complex yet supremely effortless, the music collected here stems from three albums Mário released in Luanda in the 1980s that reflect his diverse range of influences, from traditional Angolan and West African rhythms to European jazz and classical instrumentation. It is united by a sense of low-key beauty, whether on the chugging opener ‘Kazum-zum-zum’, the jazz-funk keys of ‘Lembrança Dum Velho’, or the twinkling, late-night poly-rhythms of ‘Kizomba Kya Kisanji’.

Born in Luanda, Angola in 1953, Mário dedicated his life to Angolan popular music. His fifty-year career has seen him live between Angola and Europe, rub shoulders with Cameroonian musicians Francis Bebey and Ewanjé, record the seminal album Angola ’72 with fellow Angolan musician Bonga, and draw influence from Brazilian guitarist Baden Powell.

It was the teaching of Angolan legend and Ngola Ritmos co-founder Liceu Vieira Dias that Mário gained a technical, political and spiritual understanding of Angolan musical culture. In the hands of Liceu, the traditional Angolan semba and kazukuta rhythms of the 1940s and ‘50s helped create an emancipatory sense of national pride and collective agency that awakened its listeners to the racism and tyranny of colonial rule, underpinning the country’s push for independence in the process.

What might sound like the intonations of Brazilian influence are what Mário attributes to the “African rhythms taken by the slaves which gave rise to other musical cultures” around the globe. Instead, this music emerged from a collective instinct to assert a cosmopolitan Angolan identity free from the patronising falsehoods of Lusotropicalism.

“There was a need within me to contribute in doing new things,” Mário describes. “In the sense of solidifying the music of Angola that was the result of the meeting of two cultures, and wanting to value the Angolan part whenever possible.”A selection from Mário’s three 1980s albums, Sung’Ali (1982), Tunapenda Afrika (1985) and Koizas dum Outru Tempu (1988) have been compiled here as a 2xLP release by Time Capsule’s Sam Jacob and Kay Suzuki. Together, they provide a snapshot of one man’s journey to the core of his nation’s music, charged with the search for a culture uprooted by colonialism

The Romanian duo Vinyl Speed Adjust returns with the captivating Hypnotizin EP on LOK Black, delivering two original cuts of stripped-back, hypnotic minimal techno. The standout track Acid Storm receives two stunning reinterpretations on the B-side: a deep analog-infused remix by Matt Thibideau and a pulsating, atmospheric take from Oleg Makovskiy. A must-have for deep techno selectors.

Tunnel was made in Naples in 1978 by Giorgio Verdelli and Danilo Rustici only on 7inch and it was the theme song for two RAI radio programs. Going through the names of the musicians we begin with the inimitable voice and the splendid guitars of Danilo Rustici, then passing through the saxophones of Enzo Avitabile we arrive at the keyboards of Joe Amoruso, musician-arranger who left a great void with his untimely death. For Joe, who crossed his experience with Premiata Forneria Marconi, Zucchero, Vasco Rossi, Mauro Pagani and was part of that 'dream team' of Pino Daniele - made up of technically extraordinary musicians, but above all gifted with an inimitable sound - this one-off project represented his recording debut. 'Tunnel Lights' and 'Speed Up' have been brought to light by Dario Di Pace and Claudio Casalini, two visionaries who believe that Neapolitan music is a sonic mixture of ancient and modern musical registers even if it sometimes develops a conflict between tradition and modernity as the recovery of popular tradition is strongly opposed to the push for innovation. This therefore is the reason for a 12" reissue in which the evocative original songs - from almost 50 years ago - are reflected in the new versions created by a bevy of talented DJ-arrangers including Massimo Berardi (with the bassist Luca Andreozzi) and by the industrious and passionate Francisco & Malkuth (ed: Francesco De Bellis and Cosimo 'Cosmo' Mandorino in disguise) in turn assisted by other zealous musicians and dee-jays - including the very good and always very collaborative Raffaele Arcella - who took part in a remix of this EP with enormous fervor The 12" reissue of Tunnel was released both on the classic black vinyl and in the very limited red vinyl version, in order to reflect the lips of the extravagant cover, a graphic work by another brilliant and multifaceted artist: Lino Vairetti, legendary singer of the historic prog rock band Osanna. The envelope developed by Best Record is embossed (front and back cover) to further enhance the passion that Neapolitan musicians have always had in knowing how to combine their roots with all the other musical genres of the world.

French artist Guillaume Labadie, better known as I Hate Models, started to play "Toro" in his sets at the beginning of 2022, a track that was originally released in 2011 and has been through a variety of different versions, styles and audiences. The Mexican producer Andre VII created the original remix and I Hate Models edited a speeded up version to fit into his playing style that got a huge response from clubs around the globe. The track has exploded on social networks, bringing a new buzz to this classic with its unofficial version, going viral on Tik Tok, generating thousands and thousands of videos and reaching Spotify's Top 50 Viral tunes organically, we are happy to release the edit officially on Mushroom Pillow.

Airrica makes her Crosstown Rebels debut with ‘Hi Speed Lover’, featuring Nick Morgan and KinAhau remixes.

Balancing experimental musical curiosity with her playful take on house and techno, Los Angeles’ Airrica may only be two releases into her blossoming journey as a producer, but she has already showcased her growing sound and vision while aligning with her own powerful DJ sets. Following her collaborative release alongside Ashee on Diplo’s Higher Ground and building on her debut via Crosstown’s sister label Rebellion, Damian Lazarus now welcomes her to Crosstown Rebels for the first time ahead of her appearance alongside the label boss at Hï Ibiza as she unveils her ‘Hi Speed Lover’ EP - accompanied by remixes from Canadian-born DJ/producer Nick Morgan and hotly-tipped talent KinAhau, as both also make their label debuts.

Bumping and trippy, ‘Hi Speed Lover’ is a snaking, bass-heavy cut loaded with energy as warped vocals are accompanied by slinking drums, icy hats and resonant chords and strings, while Nick Morgan’s take brings a stylish, hazy glow to the track as dubby low-ends and delicate keys work amongst the mix. Second original ‘Cherries’ is another impactful production merging metallic drums with further vocal murmurs and an infectious acid-dipped bassline, while KinAhau’s remix strips things back to deliver a classy journey through rich textures with an ethereal trip to close the package.

Batu returns to A Long Strange Dream for a deep dive into otherworldly ambient soundscapes, after infusing his interest in beatless forms in recent releases.

Drawing inspiration from the ambiance of chill-out rooms and their ability to channel the intense emotions of rave, he presents an entrancing voyage into post-euphoria, where self-exploration lives at the border of lucid dreaming and reality.

By recontextualizing his signature studies of the frontiers between organic and synthetic sounds outside of dancefloors, the multi-faceted producer displays a blissfully radiant and emotive side throughout an ecstatic journey.

Intergenerational trio Dry Speed is one of the best-kept secrets of the Belgian free jazz and improvisation scene. Formed in the early 2000’s, trumpet player Joachim Devillé and saxophonist Thomas Olbrechts were in their twenties at that time, while drummer – their teacher at the art school in Brussels - Dirk Wauters was already in his fifties. Logically, twenty years later the first one are in their forties and the third one in his seventies. They only released a couple of CDs before “Indium” but never stopped to play, for themselves and for audiences, in concerts.

'Too often we describe music using classifications; genres like “jazz,” “experimental,” “avant- garde” are an easy shorthand to relay the rough parameters of the music to another person who may not have heard it. But these words are useful because they’re so vague, and they are most often used when the impression the music makes is equally vague. But when a group makes sounds that move the listener, these terms don’t hold up.

Dry Speed has released a record that is, at turns, futuristic and organic. It feels alien and new, like plastic or titanium, but at the same time as if it is shrouded in the natural, growing like moss or amplifying the sound of a great tree’s roots. ‘Indium’ gives the listener multiple entry points into the trio’s music: from a broad soundscape to a densely knitted series of minute and exacting musical gestures.'

Following on from the recent and well received half-speed masters of
‘Amplified Heart’ and ‘Walking Wounded’, Buzzin’ Fly are proud to release EBTG’s 1999 album ‘Temperamental’. The album is a follow on from the global success of Walking Wounded in 1996 and features a myriad of rhythmic pop styles, including deep house grooves, fierce drum & bass and hip-hop infused funk. It contains the singles Five Fathoms, Blame and the title track Temperamental. The original vinyl was released on a limited edition ‘DJ friendly’ vinyl which is now a collectable item. The artwork for this new edition has been re-created
from the original source material to bring it in line with the original CD version. Like the previous two releases, it has been Mastered and Cut at half-speed by Miles Showell at London’s Abbey Road Studios.

Formed in New York City in 1993 around singer, guitarist and songwriter Chris Leo, the band emerged from the same fertile underground scene that gave rise to many of the most influential post-hardcore, indie rock and emo acts of the decade. Yet while many of their contemporaries went on to achieve wider recognition, The Van Pelt chose a different path: one built on artistic independence, restless experimentation and a stubborn refusal to fit comfortably into any scene or trend.
Across two landmark albums — Stealing From Our Favorite Thieves (1996) and Sultans Of Sentiment (1997) — The Van Pelt developed a singular language that combined intricate guitar interplay, spoken-word intensity, literary lyrics and emotional depth. Their music occupied a unique space between post-hardcore urgency, indie rock invention and the introspective sensibility that would later become associated with emo, influencing generations of musicians while remaining largely outside the spotlight.
After disbanding in 1997, the band's reputation continued to grow. What began as a well-kept secret among underground music fans gradually became a touchstone for listeners searching beyond the obvious narratives of 1990s alternative rock. Reunions in 2009 and 2014, the release of the long-lost Imaginary Third, and a series of acclaimed live performances introduced their music to a new audience while reaffirming their enduring relevance.
In 2023, The Van Pelt returned with Artisans & Merchants, their first collection of new material in more than twenty-five years. Rather than revisiting old formulas, the album expanded the band's sonic vocabulary while preserving the qualities that made them unique: curiosity, intelligence, vulnerability and an unwavering commitment to following their own instincts.
Now, more than three decades after their formation, The Van Pelt are set to return in 2026 with Remain Obscure, their fifth studio album. Continuing their tradition of defying expectations, the record pushes beyond the familiar boundaries of the band's sound while embracing the same spirit that has defined them from the beginning. A band whose influence has consistently exceeded its visibility, The Van Pelt remain one of independent music's most enduring and rewarding secrets.

This is a record of noted pedigree. Nottingham is one of thee homes to god-tier hardcore punk. The scene there has evolved, revolved, mutated, and grown over the decades. It's DIY venues and recording studios are now of legend.
The catalogue number of WSR084 is no coincidence. As with Crass and their 'counting down to 1984' aesthetic, this is anarcho hardcore railing hard against the times. If you're not currently furious you're asleep and Blind Eye are spitting anger.
Taking inspiration from The Comes, Jerrys Kids, Aus-Rotten and Chaos UK, this album is a concise call to arms. Perfectly captured over a weekend towards the end of 2025 by Boulty at Stuck On A Name Studios, Mistrust Your Nation sees mid-tempo stompers mix with breakneck ragers, all pressed at 45rpm and sounding as hefty as the band playing in your front room.
Anmarie Spaziano's vocal is at once melodic and raging, giving new definition to “pissed off”. Steve Charlesworth's drums are second to none, they've never been equalled in over 40 years of doing this. Andrew Morgan's guitar on this record is wild: shredding equal parts cosmic noise and brutally-tight riffing whilst Matt Grundy's bass anchors the chaos, pushing every second onwards.
As a label we never tire of bands who have THAT THING. We struggle to describe it and to pin it down, but we know it and we feel it and we only deal with people who have it. When we put gigs on and Blind Eye share a bill with solo banjo player Jacken Elswyth (for example) the sound is clearly different, but the ethics are the same. In den Jahren vor ,ALL MY ANGELS" kämpfte die Band mit ihrer gemeinsamen Trauer und dem Leben auf Tour. Momente der Trauer fanden auf Tour statt, in engen Transportern, die durch fremde Länder fuhren; eingeklemmt zwischen SPEED-Auftritten, auf grandiosen Festivalbühnen vor 15.000 Fans. Während die Band eine Auszeichnung und einen Erfolg nach dem anderen verbuchte - einer außergewöhnlicher als der andere -, hielt der Schmerz hartnäckig an.Auf ALL MY ANGELS hat genau diese gemeinsame Trauer die fünf Freunde näher zusammengebracht; sie ermutigt sie, ihr Leben mit größerer Klarheit zu leben, und verschafft ihnen eine fundiertere Perspektive darauf, woran es sich wirklich lohnt festzuhalten. On their 3rd and final album INEPSY leave the D-Beat Punk behind in favor of some Tank meets Motorhead Bad Ass Hard Rock Motorcycle Metal.

The follow-up to 2024’s "Perpetual Eden" sees Bloody Head stretch out and capture the cosmic sprawl of their live gigs on record. Available on limited-edition LP with spot-varnished sleeve.
After finding their Perpetual Eden and then seeing it violently retrograde, Bloody Head return with a new transmission devoted to the pendulum’s swing and the big wheel’s turn.

A sprawling mass/mess which oozes and lurches from bloody minded heaviness to meditative reflection to unsettling delirium and back again, ending in total sonic breakdown. Now 'Divinities: Twelve Dances With God' returns to vinyl in a stunning half- speed remastered edition, expertly mastered by Grammy-winning engineer John Webber at London's AIR Studios using audio sourced from the original tapes. Pressed on black vinyl & housed in a faithful reproduction of the original artwork, this new edition stands as the most detailed & dynamic presentation of the album to date. Originally premiered live in its entirety with orchestral accompaniment before its release, 'Divinities' remains a singular work within Anderson's catalogue - a testament to his restless creativity & compositional range beyond the bounds of progressive rock.
