When Drop Nineteens disbanded in the mid-'90s, singer Greg Ackell decided he would never make music again. He wouldn't noodle around on a guitar in his basement. He wouldn't get a group of friends together just to jam. He was done with music entirely. Following the release of the shoegaze masterpiece Delaware in 1992, and the intricate experimentations on National Coma in 1993, the group disbanded. They shared stages with Radiohead, Hole, Blur, PJ Harvey and Smashing Pumpkins. They went from being teenagers in Boston to mid-twenty-somethings with a few MTV videos, a couple BBC sessions and numerous festival appearances under their belt. So when Drop Nineteens ceased to be, Ackell felt content. He had the rest of his life in front of him to figure out what he wanted to do. Music was a closed chapter.That was until 2021, when a friend from the band's early days got Greg on the phone to suggest making some music together, just to see how it felt. Instead of shutting it down like he had been doing over the years, he decided to entertain the prospect. For the first time in nearly 30 years, he picked up a guitar with intent. He immediately called up Steve Zimmerman, the band's bassist and fellow guitarist, and the two got writing. It felt effortless for Ackell, like he never stopped writing music. "We were off to the races," he says, "But also the question came up: what does a Drop Nineteens song sound like today?" Enter Hard Light, the band's stunning third record. It's the band's proverbial follow up to Delaware, a modern Drop Nineteens record that is completely singular in its sound and vision. The first task making Hard Light was, of course, getting the rest of the band back together. Drop Nineteens is an inherently collaborative project. Ackell writes the lyrics, and he works with band members Steve Zimmerman, Paula Kelley, Motohiro Yasue, and Peter Koeplin to create the sonic world. The record came together over the course of a year, recording at a patchwork of studios all around the country: Boston, Brooklyn, San Francisco, Los Angeles. When Kelley and Ackell first heard their vocals recorded together on the opus album closer "T", the chemistry was undeniable. Making music together felt natural, fluid, exciting.Hard Light is a romantic record in the literary sense. Beauty from longing; longing from beauty. You put the album on and want to be clad in a velvet dress sprawled across a fainting couch. You want to be holding someone's hand while you sit back in the tall grass. The guitars are expansive and expressive as ever. Ackell and Kelley's vocals are cool, crystalline, and luminous. "Gal" comes on like a dream. The vocals pour in when you least expect them, once in the middle, where Ackell delivers one of the strangest (and best) lyrics on the record, "And there were snakes/with cats at the wheel." Hard Light's first single, "Scapa Flow" is triumphant and an excellent example of what a modern day Drop Nineteens song sounds like. The guitars glide cloud-like, floor toms shuffle and rumble in the background, searching. Ackell and Kelley's vocals are as toned as they are bound. In the B‑side the Brixton Heights Orchestra shines through in a full instrumental version of “Sweet Things”. The brass section takes centre stage throughout, weaving into the fabric of the song soaring trumpet lines, expressive saxophone melodies and rich trombone passages.

With the vocal removed, Gaudi shifts the focus on brass work, rhythm section and layered instrumentation, creating a continuum of different phrases, solos and riffs, carefully carved together into a reggae-jazz theme that executes in a cohesive and coherent way.

When hip hop trio FU-Schnickens emerged in Brooklyn in 1992 with a unique style that combined high-speed rapping, dancehall chatting, and backward rhymes with Looney Tunes-inspired voice impressions and craftily arranged grooves, the Rap world had never heard anything like it.

Following up on their debut F.U.: Don't Take It Personal, Nervous Breakdown, originally released in 1994, proved that the Fu-Schnickens could deliver the goods. Flaw is an American nu‑metal band from Louisville, Kentucky, formed in 1996 by guitarist Jason Daunt. Lead vocalist Chris Volz joined after responding to an ad in a local newspaper. Following a series of raw independent recordings throughout the 1990s, the band signed with Republic and Universal Music Group, releasing two major‑label albums Through the Eyes in 2001 and Endangered Species in 2004. Breakups, lineup changes, and internal conflicts affected the band for much of the decade, though from 2015 to 2017 they reunited with three core members to tour and write new material.

Originally released at the height of the early‑2000s alt‑metal wave, Flaw’s explosive debut Through The Eyes quickly became a defining record of the era. Led by the unmistakable voice of Chris Volz, the band crafted a sound that fused emotional intensity, sharp guitar work, and melodic hooks that resonated with a generation. The album reached #119 on the Billboard 200, and produced two singles, “Payback” and “Whole”. Another standout track, “Only the Strong”, was featured on the soundtrack of the 2002 action film The Scorpion King.

Now celebrating its 25th anniversary, Through the Eyes is available on vinyl for the first time as a double album. This edition includes an insert with lyrics and features a bonus hidden track.

John Williams Legacy: Seine größten Filmmusiken in einer Edition
Dieses Album versammelt einige der bekanntesten Filmmusiken von John Williams, darunter Star Wars,
Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones und E.T. Das Besondere an dieser Auswahl: John Williams dirigiert seine eigenen Kompositionen selbst. Die Aufnahmen entstanden mit den Berliner Philharmonikern,
den Wiener Philharmonikern und dem Recording Arts Orchestra of Los Angeles. Ergänzt wird die Veröffentlichung durch Booklet-Texte von Journalist Jon Burlingame.
So entsteht ein Album, das viele der prägendsten Stücke der Filmgeschichte in einer hochkarätigen Einspielung zusammenführt.

Seit ihrer Erstveröffentlichung ist Sir Colin Davis’ mitreißende Aufnahme der „Symphonie fantastique“ aus
dem Jahr 1974 mit dem Concertgebouw-Orchester erste Wahl geblieben.
Davis’ Verbundenheit mit Berlioz ist mittlerweile legendär. Sein Verständnis für Berlioz’ einzigartige Kompositionspraxis kommt in dieser Concertgebouw-Aufnahme voll zur Geltung. Alle individuellen Qualitäten

Die Serie wurde von Rainer Maillard gemastert und von Sidney C. Meyer in den renommierten EmilBerliner-Studios unter Verwendung ihrer 100 % rein analogen Techniken (AAA) geschnitten. Es werden
ausschließlich analoge Quellen aus den originalen Stereo- und Quadrophonie-Masterbändern verwendet,
darunter auch kürzlich entdeckte analoge Master von frühen Digitalaufnahmen.
Diese in Deutschland bei der Schallplattenfabrik Pallas auf 180 g Virgin-Vinyl gepressten Deluxe-GatefoldVeröffentlichungen in limitierter Auflage enthalten: das Original-Artwork und Liner Notes; Archivfotos und
Faksimiles der Original-Aufnahmeblätter. Jede einzelne Veröffentlichung enthält individuelle Anmerkungen
von Dominic Fyfe, in denen die Geschichte der Aufnahme, der technische Hintergrund und der MasteringProzess detailliert beschrieben werden.

Der außergewöhnlich originelle Saxofonist, Flötist und Komponist Sam Rivers war in Oklahoma mit Gospelmusik aufgewachsen. Über den Blues fand er in den 1940er Jahren zum Bebop, bevor er sich, inspiriert
durch die Musik von Ornette Coleman, John Coltrane und Cecil Taylor, der Avantgarde zuwandte. Zwischen 1964 und 1967 spielte Rivers vier Alben für Blue Note ein, auf denen er seinen Ideenreichtum als
Instrumentalist und Komponist unter Beweis stellte. Das letzte und zugleich experimentierfreudigste dieser
Alben war “Dimensions & Extensions”, auf dem der Trompeter Donald Byrd als Gast einen seiner seltenen
Ausflüge in die Avantgarde unternahm. Obwohl das Album bereits 1967 mit einem von Reid Miles entworfenen, auffälligen Cover für die Veröffentlichung vorbereitet worden war, wurde es, da die Musik ihrer Zeit
zu weit voraus war, auf Eis gelegt und erschien erstmals 1986.

Cat-O-Log Records gibt in Zusammenarbeit mit Universal Music Enterprises stolz die Neuauflage von Cat
Stevens’ sechster LP bei Island Records, „Buddha and the Chocolate Box“, bekannt.
„Buddha and the Chocolate Box“ erschien ursprünglich am 19. März 1974 und markierte die Rückkehr
sowohl von Paul Samwell-Smith als Produzent als auch von Alun Davies an der Gitarre, die beide auf dem
Vorgängeralbum „Foreigner“ nicht mitgewirkt hatten.
Klanglich fühlt sich „Buddha and the Chocolate Box“ zweifellos wie eine Rückkehr zum Stil der Ära
von „Tea for the Tillerman“ und „Teaser and the Firecat“ an, wenn auch mit musikalischen Arrangements
und einer Produktion, die ein neues Maß an Finesse und Raffnesse erreicht haben.
Der faszinierende Titel des Albums entstand während einer Flugreise, bei der Cat feststellte, dass er in
der einen Hand eine kleine Buddha-Statue und in der anderen eine Schachtel Pralinen hielt. Er dachte
darüber nach, dass man ihn im Falle eines Flugzeugabsturzes zwischen diesen beiden Gegenständen finden
würde, die das Spirituelle und das Materielle symbolisierten.
Anknüpfend an die Neuauflage des klassischen Live-Albums „Saturnight“ (Cat Stevens: Live In Tokyo)
aus dem Jahr 2024 und die Veröffentlichung von „On The Road To Findout: Greatest Hits“ im Jahr 2025
wurde „Buddha and the Chocolate Box“ sorgfältig anhand der originalen Produktionsbänder von Island UK
remastert und mit einem neu gestalteten Cover präsentiert.

„Move Along“, ursprünglich 2005 bei Interscope erschienen, ist das zweite Studioalbum von The AllAmerican Rejects. Es ist nun mit drei seltenen Bonustracks erhältlich: „Kiss Yourself Goodbye“, „Bite
Back“ und „Eyelash Wishes“. Mit Hits wie dem Titelsong, „Dirty Little Secret“ und „It Ends Tonight“
verhalf dieses Album der Band zu großem Bekanntheitsgrad, wurde von der RIAA mit 3-fach Platin ausgezeichnet und füllte Arenen auf dem Höhepunkt eines dreijährigen Tourzyklus.

Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?“, machten The Cranberries Halt im historischen Londoner Astoria II. Nun
ist erstmals eine remasterte Audioaufnahme genau dieses Konzerts erhältlich, die neben den mittlerweile
klassischen Hits „Linger“ und „Dreams“ auch erste Versionen zukünftiger Songs enthält, die schließlich auf
dem nachfolgenden Hit-Album „No Need To Argue“ erschienen. Erhältlich auf schwarzem Standard-Vinyl

Wir feiern das 30-jährige Jubiläum von Another Level. Das zweite Studioalbum von Blackstreet erschien 1996 bei Interscope Records und markiert den kommerziellen Höhepunkt der Gruppe. Es verbindet
geschmeidige R&B-Harmonien mit Hip-Hop-Produktionen und einem ausgefeilten, radiotauglichen Sound.
Das Album wurde größtenteils von Gruppenbegründer Teddy Riley produziert, einem Pionier des New
Jack Swing, und vereint gefühlvolle Balladen, groovige Midtempo-Tracks und cluborientierte Songs. Dabei
präsentiert es Blackstreets charakteristische Mischung aus romantischen Themen, urbanem Flair und stimmlicher Präzision.
Im Mittelpunkt des Albums steht der weltweite Megahit „No Diggity“ mit Dr. Dre und Queen Pen. Der
Song wurde mit einem Grammy Award ausgezeichnet und entwickelte sich zu einem der prägendsten R&B-

Another Level war ein großer kommerzieller Erfolg, erreichte mehrfachen Platinstatus und festigte Blackstreets Position als eine der führenden R&B-Gruppen der 1990er-Jahre. Das Album spielte eine wichtige
Rolle bei der Entwicklung jener Verschmelzung von R&B und Hip-Hop, die den Sound dieser Ära maßgeblich prägte.

Starkes Albumdebut des Surf-Psych-Groove-Instrumental-Trios Goblyns. »Hunki Bobo« brauch sich hinter Größen wie The Meters, W.I.T.C.H, Khruangbin und Can nicht verstecken. The Meters, W.I.T.C.H, Khruangbin und Can: das sind nur einige der Bands, die die Psychrock-Newcomer Goblyns als Einflüsse auf ihren Sound nennen. In Südafrika gegründet leben die drei Bandmitglieder mittlerweile in Berlin und Amsterdam. In Europa schrieben die Drei auch die Songs für ihr Debutalbum. Die acht Tracks auf »Hunki Bobo« wurde in einem fünftägigen Studiorausch im schwülen Juli 2023 unter der erfahrenen Leitung von Andre Leo aufgenommen. Leo ist vor allem für seine Arbeit mit Medicine Boy und Wombed bekannt und hat zusammen mit den Musikern etwas ganz besonderes erschaffen. Das Album hat eine einzigartige Dynamik und steckt voller Energie. Jeder Song strahlt einen Groove aus, dem man sich schwer entziehen kann. Ob düstere Krautrock-Hypnose, grooviger Surf, Psychedelica. Mutant und Paramount Pictures präsentieren stolz eine Vinyl-Neuauflage von Lorne Balfes Soundtrack zu „Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning“, dem siebten Teil der beliebten Spionageserie des Schauspielers und Produzenten Tom Cruise. Gepresst auf 2x 140 g Gold Key-Vinyl, mit Begleittexten des Komponisten und Co-Autors, Regisseurs und Produzenten Christopher McQuarrie sowie einem Verpackungsdesign von Mo Shafeek. Lorne Balfes Filmmusik zu „Dead Reckoning“, dem siebten Teil der beliebten Spionageserie des Schauspielers und Produzenten Tom Cruise. Die fortwährende Neuerfindung der einst formlosen Franchise durch den Drehbuchautor und Regisseur Christopher McQuarrie – der unterschiedliche Stile und Themen geschickt in einen zusammenhängenden und überzeugenden Mythos einbettet – hat den Komponisten Lorne Balfe dazu veranlasst, dasselbe zu tun. Lornes Filmmusik, die im Laufe der dreijährigen Produktionszeit komponiert wurde, ist nichts weniger als ein Wunder. Sie ist zugleich eine Ode an das Vermächtnis der gesamten Serie und führt die musikalischen Motive fort, die bereits in seinem vorherigen Teil sowie im bei den Fans beliebten „Mission: Impossible – Fallout“ begonnen wurden; die Musik dieser Serie klang noch nie so grandios.

Howl. Hammer strikes firing pin. Its echo ricochets over river bend. The woodpecker’s syncopated pop-pop-pop clink and thwap in time with cops practicing prayer at the firing range.

Quick. Sketch a few constellations onto a postcard: empty shotgun shells, these pre-forgotten fossils snaking rusted railroad spikes, like snagged rosary, fallen poplar petals draped over cerulean glass ashtray scattered along glittering fractures, ignored like a treaty. Train tracks reverberate necrophilic boomerang-hunger for mountain air without that coal dust. Eat. Eat. Everything is real estate. Even the air is for sale. Buy it cheap while I.C.E. carves through the valley along the Trail of Tears in unmarked SUVs, traffic stops.

Howl. Callback to estranged entanglements oscillating over holler and highway. Meet on the porch. Haint-blue ceiling. Some ghosts can’t get through anyway. They got tied up on the Walnut Street Bridge by a mob of white spit. Howl. The South should scare you.

But the woodpecker is still nesting, hungry, typing uncannied punctuation marks into black oak: a deed. Home? Takes a side-eyed knowing to call by name. The moon sickles in a sweating glass of iced tea.

Speculation cycle: symmetry as ancient as sour-dank betrayal of the tongue, bitter bones binding blood and lead, alchemical forgetting like I found a hairbrush in the yard while planting wild irises, like someone is charging $10 for an old glass Coke bottle, like semicolons itching restless under new sod from no-one-knows-where. Howl. Sing back. History is soil-in-stereo.

How will this line end? Like riverbank? Like atlatl arching hope smash-through a stained glass window? Words fall out of the sky, and 30 American flags snap at attention on the bridge. Howl. A shift in the wind gallops through the streets tossing her head back, laughing.

Tennessee River, who once kissed Pangea, how she softens at the knuckle-suck of it all, that secret-sweet stowed in the feathers of sandhill cranes lifting up on warm summer breeze: slow-shooting stars bending toward unbothered brevitas.

Howl. The red wolf knows her truest kin is always her shadow’s shadow.

In Thin Air, forms a musical companion piece to Robert and Jackie's book The Book of Birds - a book that is a love letter to the splendours and mysteries of birdlife, and a clarion call to halt the loss of birds from land, sea and sky. The music was created within the contemplative green oak roundhouse of Ty Sanctaidd (Sacred House) in the grounds of Ty Trefacwn in South West Wales, and recorded at Castle Sound Studio in Pencaitland, East Lothian. As with our other albums In Thin Airhas been recorded and produced by Andy Bell of Hudson Records. Throughout The Book of Birds there runs a gentle mantra - " Nest, Egg, Beak, Song, Feather, Flight, Migration -- these are the Seven Wonders that together conjure the miracle of Bird ". Intrigued by this concept, the seven musicians have created an intricate new album that has an overarching narrative, capturing the remarkable world of birds from birth to flight.
