Mancunian pianist and producer Matt Wilde prepares to release his debut album 'Hello World' via Band on the Wall Recordings. With a slew of hotly tipped projects released over the past two years via Root Records & Inner Ocean Records- Matt has been steadily gaining support from the likes of Jamie Cullum, Gilles Peterson, Jazz FM & many more. With his name firmly cemented as one to watch in the Jazz / Beats landscape, 'Hello World' promises to be his most expansive body of work to date.

'Hello World' is an audio catalogue of personal experiences, thoughts and feelings, shared with honesty and curiosity for the human condition. Matt crafts emotive and uplifting compositions denoting a tender illustration of the human experience, finding and celebrating the simple and beautiful moments of life.

Coming as the fourth edition, 'EP4' stays true to the series, committing Defected's biggest digital releases to wax, and delivering upfront packages of house heat previously unavailable on vinyl. Opening up the A-side is garage legend and Grammy Award winner Todd Edwards with 'You're Sorry', where his chopped-up vocal sampling, pitch shifts, and kick drums combine to create a track with true groove. Up next is underground gem 'Space & Time' (Extended Vocal Mix) from Dario D'Attis featuring Jinadu, a record that presents grooving house excellence. The B-side continues to deliver the goods, opening with Low Steppa's Defected debut, 'You're My Life', a guaranteed summer weapon for 2019. Rounding off the vinyl release is Austin Millz 'Broke Boy', where the Harlem born artist showcases his genre defying style, with vocals provided by Claire Ridgley, making a reflective and serene closure to this release.

Steel City Dance Discs presents the ‘Wonder’ EP from fast-rising Italian artist Matisa. Fresh and filled with spirit, Matisa kicks off the EP with the transcendent, IDM-meets-Bingo Beats energy of ‘Brilliantine’, where twisted modulations fuse in harmony with angelic abstract vocals. Her original ‘Eyeliner’ is a euphoric breakbeat hardcore stomper, whilst Mall Grab’s take on the same track goes in harder with jacking drums, ecstatic rave stabs and menacing bass. Closing the EP is ‘Lip Plumper’ – a hypnotic stripped-back house cut which nods to UKG. This EP represents a significant moment in Matisa’s musical journey, as she evokes a combination of discovering yourself through creative expression with losing yourself on the dancefloor.

Both albums will be available on 180g-vinyl on October 1, 2021. The first live Steely Dan album in more than 25 years, Northeast Corridor: Steely Dan Live!, was recorded across tour dates at New York City’s Beacon Theatre, The Met Philadelphia, & more, and showcases selections from Steely Dan’s extraordinary catalog of slinky grooves, sleek subversive lyrics, and infectious hits. Spaceman, otherwise known as Stephen Munson or Stephan James, is the former lead singer of English cult glam punk band Living In Texas, one of the very first bands to play an MTV Europe session when MTV was in its infancy, one of the last bands to play at the legendary Elixir Festival in France, once #3 in the Italian charts (1985.),...

At the end of Living In Texas, Munson continued to form other projects without such conviction and to write songs, until meeting Christelle Canot aka Confused, a moment which he describes as his epiphany. He entrusted her with the production of his first (double) solo album.

This follows during the pandemic by the production of a double album featuring 9 songs already recorded in 2000 and the composition of 16 others with musicians from all over the world, carried by the same punk and DIY spirit that has always lived with him.

Poet, director, an artist touching everything and a great lyricist, his songs are personal and universal, love letters to his children, to nature, to our addictions, confessions of weakness, regrets, his life passes through these 25 songs that range from the folk lo-fi masterpiece "frEND" to pure postpunk sound straight out of the 80s "Everybody's Hooked On Something", to folk-rock ballads like Martin's Garden, eternal songs with "Loving Ways" or ballads of Lynchian love... Hollenthon ist eine Symphonic Death Metal-Band, die von Martin Schirenc von Pungent Stench gegründet wurde. Hollenthon debütierten 1999 mit "Domus Mundi" und erlangten mit ihrem zweiten Album "With Vilest of Worms" Kultstatus.mit ihrem zweiten Album "With Vilest of Worms to Dwell" im Jahr 2001. Nach diesem Album wurde es ruhig an der Hollenthon-Front, da Schirenc sich darauf konzentrierte, Pungent Stench wieder zusammenzubringen. Nach zwei Pungent Stench-Alben kehrte Schirenc jedoch zu Hollenthon zurück und "Opus Magnum" war das Ergebnis."Opus Magnum" zeigt eine neue Entwicklung des Bandsounds, da die symphonisch-orchestralen Elemente nahtlos mit dem gebotenen Death Metal verschmelzen. Das Album zeichnet sich durch großzügige Chöre, Synthesizer, Streicherarrangements und weiblichen Soprangesang aus, die sich perfekt mit Schirencs
klassischen und ethnischen europäischen Folk-Elementen verbinden. Das Gitarrenspiel hat ein neues Niveau erreicht, mit unglaublichen Soli auf dem gesamten Album. Das Album ist ein perfektes Ganzes, bei dem jeder Song anders ist, aber dennoch einwandfrei zusammenarbeitet. Hollenthon experimentiert auf diesem Album furchtlos mit verschiedenen Sounds, und das funktioniert unglaublich gut. Das Album ist ein durchgehendes, hochenergetisches Erlebnis, und jeder Song ist einzigartig und doch zusammenhängend. Fans von Therion und Symphonic Extreme Metal werden "Opus Magnum" lieben, das unserer Meinung nach sogar besser ist als alles, was Therion seit langem veröffentlicht hat. Insgesamt,"Opus Magnum"
ist eines der besten Extreme-Metal-Alben des Jahres 2008! Sehr empfehlenswert!

"With Vilest of Worms to Dwell" ist ein episches und majestätisches Kraftpaket! Dieses Album mischt Folk, Pagan Metal mit Death Metal Tendenzen.
Zum ersten Malauf Vinyl!Dieses Album ist ein Kraftpaket, ja, wir haben es gesagt... Mit Anflügen von Therion, gemischt mit melodischen Death Metal Tendenzen, bricht "With Vilest of Worms to Dwell" in seiner ganzen majestätischen und epischen Ausmaß und ist auch 22 Jahre nach seiner ersten Veröffentlichung im Jahr 2001 noch immer ein großes Vergnügen zu hören. Hollenthon demonstrieren ihre symphonischen Elemente von Anfang an, und die ersten drei Tracks sind geniale Kompositionen, die, obwohl sie unglaublich sind, dem Hörer Geduld abverlangen, die dann aber mit einer großen Belohnung belohnt wird. Hollenthon hat ein zugängliches Album geschaffen, aber man hört bei jedem Hördurchgang etwas Neues.Gleich zu Beginn springt "Y Draig Goch" mit einer wunderbaren "Aufbau"-Strophe heraus, bevor er in einen der headbangfähigsten, erhebenden Refrains mündet, die man seit langem hören wird.Zeit hören wirst. Klingt nach Power Metal? Weit gefehlt, Hollenthon spielen eine mitreißende Mischung aus Death Metal und orchestraler Musik, die an Therion meets Morbid Angel erinnert, aber viel, viel besser als dieser schlechte Vergleich klingen mag.

Tresor is proud to present the debut split 12" from Chloe Lula and Ireen Amnes. Meeting in the darker, harder-edged side of the Berlin techno scene in 2019, the pair have regularly collaborated and performed together, but Synergy marks the first time they've shared a record sleeve. Amnes describes Synergy as "the world we built while thinking about our journey as friends and the connection we share as people and artists," and while the record highlights their relationship and shared influences, it also showcases how each has grown into their respective lane.

Amnes' tracks lean into significantly more distorted territory, characterized by a dense fog of grainy pads punctured by sharp, expertly-programmed percussion. On "Our Bodies," these fragments are sculpted into driving hardware gear, replete with distant vocals and acidic squelches, where "Fragments of Desire" makes space for a more somber attitude, descending into murky, psychedelic electro.

In counterpoint to Amnes' deep atmospherics, Lula's contributions are driven by intricate sound design and a focus on dancefloor
impact. Taking cues from Regis and the Birmingham techno sound, she reins in the distortion of 2021's Errant Bodies for aufnahme + wiedergabe in favor of rolling techno and breakbeat-inspired rhythms that nod to her EBM influences. Making use of the extra space, she builds tension through heaving, textured basslines and crescendos of noise, and on EP closer "Event Horizon," she carves through the beat with her own metallic vocals.

Synergy includes a digital bonus track from each artist. Lula's sees her pushing deeper into finely-tooled techno territory, her drums at a swift, driving gallop, surrounded by ominous swaths of reverb. In contrast, Amnes crafts a gritty warehouse trip, sharpening the angles of her drums and detuning her synths until they sound bent and alien. Complete with the EP's physical cuts, these tracks are a testament to how the pair can simultaneously complement and contrast with each other, departing from their shared sonic origins and ending up in wildly dierent destinations.

2023 will see the band releasing their new album I Want It All Right Now, produced by Grammy-winning producer John Congleton, on Glassnote Records and embarking on a North American stadium/arena tour with pop superstar P!nk.

Armand is the debut of a sound collage project called PVNCTVM, which refers to Roland Barthes' term "Punctum". A handful of field recordings, taken during extensive walks through nature and landscapes of certain places, evoke memories in a similar way as sometimes photographs do. Based on this material, personal impressions, literature, photographs, sketches and more a process of various sound experiments begins to create soundscapes which reflect the deterioration of memories between various states of mind. Instruments and other sound sources are used symbolically, as are elements of musique concrete, ambient, glitch and drone.

With the release of the Gospel album, His Hand In Mine during December
1960, Something For Everybody was the first non-religious Presley album
to be released since Elvis Is Back! and the contrast couldn't have been
greater. None of the songs had ever been previously released in any form
and were divided equally into 'the ballad side' and 'the rhythm side'. With all
of the tracks recorded at RCA Studios, Nashville, in March 1961, except for
I Slipped, I Stumbled, I fell, which was recorded at 20th Century Fox
Studios in Hollywood six months earlier in October 1960.

Hailing from Macclesfield, Cheshire, and growing up in Cheadle Hulme, John Mayall had already made a name for himself on the Manchester blues scene before relocating to London in 1963 at the urging of Alexis Korner.

Following the breakup of The Bluesbreakers in 1968, Mayall took a three week break in LA, and it proved an eye-opener for him. As a result, Blues From Laurel Canyon was a concept album of sorts, a view of a Brit Abroad at a time when it wasn't de rigueur to travel. 2401 especially is an incredible confection – acknowledging Cream, foreseeing Led Zeppelin; Mick Taylor's slide guitar would soon be heard in the Rolling Stones. Fly Tomorrow is a nine- minute blues- rock tour de force.This re-issue faithfully replicates the original 1968 Decca Records UK stereo release with gatefold sleeve and is pressed onto high quality 180g vinyl.

"Domus Mundi" ist seitdem ein Lieblingsalbum, das ich mir immer wieder gerne anhöre, weil es einen unendlichen Wiederspielwert hat und eineneinzigartigen Stils, den keine andere Metal-Band nachahmen kann. Umso erstaunlicher, dass alles von einem Mann geschaffen und arrangiert wurde, nämlich von Martin Schirenc, der vor allem durch seine Arbeit bei Pungent Stench bekannt ist.Dieses Album lässt sich am besten als orchestraler Extrem-Metal beschreiben, aber auch episch, volkstümlich und mittelalterlich sind angemessene Adjektive für dieses Werk. Schirenc beweist, dass er nicht nur ein
großartigerSchirenc beweist, dass er nicht nur ein großartiger Gitarrist ist, sondern auch ein brillanter Arrangeur, der gregorianische Gesänge, Spoken Word, ethnische Musik aus dem Nahen Osten, neuseeländische Kriegsgesänge und jede Menge klassische Musik in seine Musik integriert.

Die Samples reichen von Rimsky-Korsakoffs "Sheherezade" bis zu einem Dudelsackfilm aus dem Film Braveheart, zu gesprochenen Samples aus Ridley Scotts Legend und vielem mehr. Diese Samples verleihen dem Album eine einzigartige Note und machen es extrem abwechslungsreich, etwas, das man so noch nie gehört hat. Schirenc verwendet einfache Songstrukturen und setzt Hooks in seiner Gitarrenarbeit ein, um lange Songs und sich wiederholende Strukturen interessant zu halten.
