„The Metal Opera Part II“, neu aufgelegt als Vinyl-Edition zum 25-jährigen Jubiläum.
Das ursprünglich 2002 erschienene Album setzte Tobias Sammets bahnbrechendes AVANTASIA-Konzept fort und erweiterte es,
wodurch sich das Projekt als eine der ambitioniertesten und auf Zusammenarbeit ausgerichteten Kräfte im modernen Metal etablierte.
Mit einer herausragenden Riege an Gastmusikern und -sängern festigte „Part II“ den Ruf von AVANTASIA als echte
Metal-Oper im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes.
Für diese Jubiläumsausgabe erscheint das Album erstmals in seiner endgültigen Vinyl-Form, mit einem eigens von Mika Jussila erstellten Vinyl-Master, das speziell für die hochwertige analoge Wiedergabe optimiert wurde. Die Veröffentlichung erscheint als Premium-Doppel-LP auf 180g schwerem Vinyl in einem eindrucksvollen Gatefold-Cover, das die Größe und Dramatik der Originalproduktion würdigt. Eine lang erwartete Sammleredition – und die ultimative Art, „The Metal Opera Part II“ auf Vinyl zu erleben.

Songs, interpretiert von Memphis Slim, Sonny Boy Williamson, Big Bill Broonzy und anderen. Als United Artists 1959 ,Blues in the Mississippi Night" endlich veröffentlichte - nachdem man das Album jahrelang als ,zu kontrovers" eingestuft hatte -, erhielten die mitwirkenden Künstler Pseudonyme, um ihre Familien zu schützen. Das war der Preis dafür, dass sie die brutale, ungeschönte Wahrheit aussprachen. Heute wissen wir, dass ,Natchez, Sib & Leroy" die legendären Bluesmusiker Big Bill Broonzy, Memphis Slim und Sonny Boy Williamson waren. 1947 nahm Alan Lomax die drei Giganten mit einem Presto-Disc-Aufnahmegerät in den Decca Studios in New York City auf, nachdem sie im Rahmen seiner ,Midnight Special"-Konzertreihe in der nahegelegenen Town Hall aufgetreten waren. Lomax bat sie, ein paar Songs zu spielen und über ,den Blues" zu sprechen, und ermutigte sie, offen über die Ungerechtigkeiten des Lebens der Schwarzen in Amerika zu reden. Das Ergebnis war ,Blues in the Mississippi Night", eine bahnbrechende Aufnahme ihrer Songs und Geschichten, die die Ursprünge der Musik in Blut, Schweiß und Tränen der Afroamerikaner aufzeigt, die im Mississippi-Delta unter den Ausbeutungsbedingungen der Jim-Crow-Gesetze lebten. Einfach gesagt: Die Aufnahmen sind atemberaubend in ihrer brutalen Ehrlichkeit und ihrer fesselnden Meisterschaft. Heute hat das Lomax-Archiv die Originalbänder dieser historischen Aufnahme digital remastert, um sie zum ersten Mal seit 1959 wieder auf Vinyl zu veröffentlichen. Im Paket enthalten ist ein 20-seitiges Deluxe-Booklet mit einer vollständigen Transkription der gesamten Aufnahme sowie brandneuen Liner Notes von Anna Lomax Wood und einer Einleitung des renommierten Schlagzeugers und Produzenten Steve Jordan (Rolling Stones, John Mayer). ,Ich fordere jeden, der das Leben und die Wahrheit liebt, auf, sich diese Aufnahme anzuhören", sagt Jordan. Wenn man sich die Texte und die Musik darin anhört, wird das schnell klar. Dies ist eine unverzichtbare Aufnahme - ein Eckpfeiler in der Plattensammlung jedes Blues-Fans und ein unbestreitbarer Teil der amerikanischen Geschichte.

Im Jahr 2025 feiert Chess Records sein 75-jähriges Jubiläum. Anlässlich dieses historischen Meilensteins
wird Chess im Oktober dieses Jahres eine umfassende Jubiläumsreihe mit einer kuratierten Auswahl audiophiler Vinyl-Neuauflagen starten.

Chess-Kader präsentieren.
Das Album „Howlin’ Wolf“ von Howlin’ Wolf, das wegen der Abbildung eines Schaukelstuhls auf dem
Cover liebevoll als „The Rockin’ Chair Album“ bezeichnet wird, rockt in mehr als einer Hinsicht. Diese
Platte fängt den wahren Sound des Electric Blues ein und versammelt Singles, die ursprünglich zwischen
1957 und 1961 veröffentlicht wurden. Mit den Talenten der Chess-Stammbesetzung, darunter Willie Dixon,
Hubert Sumlin, Sam Lay und Jimmy Rogers, liefert das Album einen kraftvollen Sound. Zu den herausragenden Titeln zählen unter anderem „Little Red Rooster“, „Spoonful“ und „Back Door Man“.
„Muddy, Brass & The Blues“ markiert einen Wendepunkt in Muddy Waters’ Karriere. Obwohl das Cover

Multi-dimensional Expressionist, Maia aka Sonjia Hubert Harper is an internationally renowned vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and composer who is proficient on several musical instruments that include flute, piccolo, harp and vibraphone. As a music educator Maia specializes in vocal training for adults with developmental disabilities (Autism, Down Syndrome, etc) and school-aged children. Over the years Maia has gained notoriety as a longtime member of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM of Chicago) and Pan Afrikan Peoples Arkestra (Horace Tapscott, Los Angeles).

DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present the much-needed reissue of BAPTHOMET’S BLOOD’s third album, Metal Damnation, on vinyl LP and – for the first time – CD formats. Originally released in 2009, BAPHOMET’S BLOOD continues their roughneck approach to real underground heavy and speed metal. Their Italian Steel may not be sharp, but nonetheless hard hitting. 8 tracks + a cover of Belgian heavy metal cult act Killer can be found on this record.

Downtown Boys have pushed relentlessly forward as an artistic and political project since their founding. Singer Victoria Marie and guitarist/singer Joey La Neve DeFrancesco first met at union meetings while working together at a hotel in Providence, RI, writing many of the band's early songs about labor organizing and exploitative workplaces. The quintet is completed by Joe DeGeorge (sax/synth), Mary Jane Regalado (bass), and Joey Doubek (drums). Over years of touring, and three acclaimed albums, Downtown Boys have continued to grow as artists, musicians, and organizers. Now, the band has arrived with Public Luxury, an enthralling album that keeps politics front and center while summoning the band's most urgent and powerful sound to date. The definition of Public Luxury falls very much in line with that of the title of the second Downtown Boys LP, Full Communism. Straight up, Public Luxury means, "everything for everyone." It's the stubborn insistence that a better world is possible, while fully recognizing the horrors we witness daily, and the individual and collective responsibility to resist the nihilism and hopelessness we all feel. Sentiments like "everything for everyone," and "we will have it all" perfectly represent the cathartic, communal live experience this cadre of multi-instrumentalists create. These sentiments also encapsulate the inclusive, joyful sonic fusion that defines the album: anthemic punk and indie rock mix with Latin traditions, drum machines blend with acoustic drums, saxophones punctuate riffs, and layers of synths add flourishes from new-wave to industrial. The amount of ground covered on Public Luxury can't be overstated, and yet the album feels totally vital and cohesive. Public Luxury is a revisitation of the band's past for the sake of their future. It was co-produced by DeFrancesco with recording engineer and longtime Downtown Boys supporter Seth Manchester (Lambrini Girls, Lightning Bolt, Model/Actriz) at the Pawtucket, RI studio and arts space Machines With Magnets, not far from the band's first home of Providence, RI. Victoria Marie's grandmother-a monumental figure for the band throughout their existence-passed away in May of 2025, and her influence looms large over the album; the songs "No Me Jodas" and "Sirena" are crystallized representations of the love between a woman and her ancestor. Beyond the loss, rage and frustration of the present, Public Luxury points boldly towards a vibrant, open-hearted vision of both music and the world: "Our music is simply for anyone and everyone who believes in the new future we can make together," Victoria Marie declares. "A world that will be awkward, inconsistent, yet truly free when it comes to all that matters."

Lorelle Meets The Obsolete return with their seventh album. It's the Mexican duo's finest, most ferocious work to date which sees them turbo-charge their psychedelic post-punk with a new electronic engine. Mixed by Antoine Goulet (live sound engineer for SUUNS) and mastered by Mikey Young (Eddy Current Suppression Ring), the most obvious comparison in terms of mood and mode is Primal Scream's classic XTRMNTR, another record that processed personal and political conflicts and spat them out as distorted dance music. It shows the influence of the duo's DJ sets and last year's radical Remezcla remix collection on their way of thinking and why they are now namechecking the likes of Moor Mother, MF DOOM, Patrick Cowley, The Bug, Paula Garcés, Phil Kieran, Coby Sey, Run the Jewels and Anadol."Playing other artists' music is different," says Lorena Quintanilla about the change of direction towards the dancefloor. "You're not just listening, you're watching how energy flows and how it affects other people. It gives you the chance to witness what moves other bodies." And Corporal, as the title suggests, is all about the body. "The body is what carries the weight of stress, exhaustion, sadness. It's the body that the system breaks first," explains Lorena. "Unintentionally, while composing the album, our bodies were seeking joy in the songs. Reconnecting with pleasure became a way to open new dimensions - a way to escape, yet remain present." The theme is carried over into the lyrics which, according to Lorena, variously refer to "the bodies that disappear, the abused bodies, the bodies we miss, the bodies that march together in protest, the bodies that are being controlled".

MAR 004 continues the evolving catalogue of Moozikeh Analog Room, a label imprint emerging from the broader Analog Room ecosystem. Over time, Analog Room has developed into distributed creative structure spanning, bridging club culture, archival releases, and experimental instrument design. MAR 004 extends this trajectory, reinforcing the label’s position as a long-form documentation platform for contemporary electronic music practices rooted in both regional and international dialogue.

"The relationship with Roman Flugel started with us listening to his music and be fascinated by the simplicity but bold sound. The sound design and the story telling was inline with how we enjoyed music. After inviting Roman for a few times to perform at Analog Room, the relationship led to the point that when it was time for us to think of the MAR releases, we could not miss on asking Roman to join the label and the rest is what you are going to experience with this thick, deep and rhythmic EP that represents what the world need at the moment, some SOLUTIONS. Analog Room has always tried to bypass the issues in the South West Asia region through music and art and show how we are all the same and connected."

"My record for Analog Room is essentially a long-term project that was sparked by multiple invitations to the Analog Room club in Dubai over the course of several years. The club held a special place for me—a sanctuary for the underground music scene in a city otherwise defined by a very different ethos. I am delighted to now be part of the Analog Room label family. The record blends various moods and directions within my personal musical landscape, and "Solutions," in particular, has created euphoric moments during my DJ sets over the past few months."

From 1993, a hallmark UK Dub album returns to the light. Originally pressed in a small run and extremely hard to find, this record was produced at Earthquake Studio by TNT Roots and Winston Dread.

Together, they provided a raw contribution to the early UK Dub scene using a basic setup: a Siel DK-80 synth, a Yamaha home keyboard, a Casio RZ-1 drum machine, and an Atari 1040 computer running Cubase V2.0. The tracks were shaped through an old Dynamix 8-channel mixer and captured on a Casio portable DAT machine.

TNT Roots provided the drum, bass, and chord patterns, while Winston Dread added the lead lines and performed the mixing duties. This raw, undiluted music reflects the evolution of Dub and contains the seeds of all their future work. Their dubplates were staples for legendary UK sound systems like Aba Shanti-I and Iration Steppas, becoming sought-after anthems that defined the "heavyweight" digital roots sound.

These are heavy sounds that stand the test of time. Back on the streets after 30 years, the album has been fully restored and remastered to honor the dubplate masters of UK Sound System culture

Crackazat returns to Freerange for his latest EP entitled Shine, and sees the artist in his finest form to date! An absolute anthem in the making the title track appears here in Club Mix and Mana’s Dub form, plus an amazing flip of Crouching Tiger from Baltimore legend Karizma Shine is a soulful, jazz-inflicted epic which will have any dance floor worth it’s salt fully locked in. Crackazat’s own vocals bring hints of Jamiroquai whilst his production calls golden era MAW and Blaze to mind. Add an incredible arrangement, live horns, bass and drums to this already heady concoction and you get an idea of why we’re so excited about this release. These kind of club tracks are few and far between these days! Next up we have one of Crackazat’s own Mana’s Dubs of Shine.

A chance for Ben to strip things back, loop things up and dub things out. Keeping the funk intact, we’re treated to a feelgood party-starting house track which has a classic sound that can’t fail to warm the cockles! Flip over for a proper curve-ball from everyone’s favourite Baltimore house hero Karizma who turns Crouching Tiger into the kind of twisted, rolling, jazzy and leftfield workout we love him for. A driving force of the city’s underground, he always comes with the raw energy and fearless creativity. A staple of the dance floor and a leader beyond it, Karizma represents the past, present, and future of Baltimore House and once again proves why he’s such a don.

Drop this one and run for cover whilst the dancers throw crazy shapes! Closing out the EP we have Crackazat’s Mana’s Dub take on previous single Watchu Say. Looping up the killer piano hook and his live bass line, Ben manages to craft the kind of warm, uplifting slice of house music which simply works. And for those who love a big drop, this one should fit the bill with a trademark Mana’s Dub seratonin-boosting build that hits all the right buttons.

Italian producer Gledd has been quietly carving out a reputation for groove-led house music that balances raw dancefloor energy with rich musicality. Drawing on influences that span gospel, afrobeat, and classic deep house, his productions channel both heritage and forward-thinking club culture. My House Is Your Church marks his debut release on Delusions Of Grandeur - a fitting home for his expansive, souldrenched sound - and signals a bold new chapter in his evolution as an artist.

The EP opens with On His Way, a percussion-heavy deep roller built for maximum dancefloor impact. Anchored by fat, heavyweight production and a massive low-end presence, the track surges forward with relentless energy. An incredible gospel vocal cuts through the mix, elevating the groove into something transcendent - equal parts spiritual and physical. On It’s Not That Easy, Gledd leans further into his gospel house influences. Highimpact and rhythmically rich, the track weaves together organ fills and subtle tropical flourishes, creating a vibrant, sun-soaked energy while keeping the pressure firmly on the floor.

It’s a track that feels both uplifting and commanding. Flipping to the B-side, Habibi Gospel pushes into more “outernational” territory. A wild, expressive lead vocal takes center stage, riding atop a heavy, driving groove. Organ stabs punctuate the rhythm, locking dancers into a hypnotic flow that bridges cultures and styles with effortless confidence. Closing the EP, Can You Hear My Noise? brings things to a richly textured finale. Slightly more organic in feel, it blends echoing synth stabs, percussive melodic lines, and chopped vocals into a melting pot of sound. The result is a seamless fusion of gospel, afrobeat, and classic house - deep, emotive, and undeniably danceable. With My House Is Your Church, Gledd delivers a statement of intent: music as ritual, the dancefloor as sanctuary.

Relapse presents a remastered reissue from the undisputed king of Japanese noise-MERZBOW. "Pulse Demon" is one of the most celebrated releases of Masami Akita's storied 4 decade long career. Composed entirely by live noise concrete and the use of a fuzz box, "Pulse Demon" eschews all overdubs and studio trickery, laying MERZBOW bare. What follows in these recordings is the pure essence of unfettered noise. The rawness in "Pulse Demon" is palpable; praised as "genuinely extreme, downright torturous sounds that are strangely compelling in their shredding intensity." (A.V. Club) upon its original release in 1996. Remastered by James Plotkin (ISIS, ELECTRIC WIZARD, FULL OF HELL, and more,) the "Pulse Demon" reissues features "Extract 1", a never-before released track that was recorded as part of the original "Pulse Demon" sessions.

The Gods Must Be Angry comprises 3 tracks that have been doing the rounds with some of the heaviest-of-the-heavy house DJs, available for the first time on vinyl. We’ve combined these into one release and added a new track - What I Know - as a vinyl-only exclusive. Across all four tracks there’s a balanced mix of headiness and body-jerking funk.

Psychic Zebra third 12" release, TMRS by Todd Modes and Ryan Spencer. Todd and Ryan put everything into this one and came out with something that genuinely moves. I brought back Hugo Capablanca for the artwork, Dietrich Schoenemann on mastering, and Archer Record Pressing to press it right. ‘Talk Talk (LA Guitar Mix)’ is the slow burn with guitars from Scott McNamara weaving through Todd and Ryan's production. Sounds like flying into 1980s LAX at night. Wheels down. City lights. No luggage. ‘Talk Talk (Frantic Mix)’ flips it on its head. Same bones, completely unhinged with Sarah O's vocals stacked over a groove that doesn't quit. ‘Risk Of The Road’ sits in heavy space between dance and dub. ‘Weird Wave’ is exactly does what it says. Sleater-Kinney feiern das 30-jährige Jubiläum ihres zweiten Albums ,Call the Doctor" mit einer neuen Vinyl-Ausgabe auf "Northern Light"-farbenem Vinyl. Sleater-Kinney ist eine gefeierte amerikanische Rockband, die 1994 in Olympia, Washington, gegründet wurde. Die Kernbesetzung der Band besteht aus Corin Tucker (Gesang und Gitarre), Carrie Brownstein (Gitarre und Gesang) und Janet Weiss (Schlagzeug). Mit Beiträgen des Ambient-Pioniers Brian Eno, des Komponisten und Multiinstrumentalisten Roger Eno sowie des Grammy-prämierten Produzenten Daniel Lanois. Live at the Aquarium, später im selben Jahr aufgenommen, dokumentiert einen seltenen Soloauftritt Brooks in London und hebt das hypnotische Sustain und die atmosphärische Tiefe hervor, die sein Werk prägen. Über seine Alben hinaus komponierte Brook Filmmusiken für gefeierte Filme wie Into the Wild, Brooklyn und An Inconvenient Truth. Die Gründungsmitglieder von Mojave 3 sind Sänger/Gitarrist Neil Halstead, Bassistin/Sängerin Rachel Goswell und Schlagzeuger Ian McCutcheon. Die Band trat 1995 erstmals in Erscheinung, als ein Demo mit sechs Tracks 4AD so sehr beeindruckte, dass ihnen ein Plattenvertrag angeboten wurde - trotz des damals vorherrschenden musikalischen Klimas des selbstbewussten Britpop, der scheinbar völlig im Widerspruch zu dem stand, was Mojave 3 machten. Two supreme House Grooves from the world renowned “Maestro” of the dancefloor in the continuing build-up to the Louie Vega “Expansions In The NYC” album release. With “Another Day In My Life” Louie Vega incorporates elements of the classic jam “Never Had A Love So Good” by Charles Johnson (fully cleared and licensed from the legendary Henry Stone Music Company), and creates a driving and infectious soul-infused club anthem that ruled the DJ download platforms prior to its vinyl release. Odisea is the new album, actually the real debut from Los Retros, out in April on Stones Throw. It draws inspiration from 1980s Japanese City Pop, and marks a new creative chapter from Mauri Tapia shaped by growth, reflection, and renewed purpose. It's been a journey since Tapia first captured hearts with the lo-fi magic of "Someone To Spend Time With", recorded at the age of 17 on a humble four-track in his parents' living room. Now 25, the Oxnard native has stepped into an entirely new season of life - he married his high school sweetheart, became a father to two daughters, and embraced spiritual faith. Earlier this year, he revisited his start with Early Days (2016-2019), a compilation of unreleased music from Mauri's teen years. "Jazz fusion has become my favorite genre and greatest inspiration of all time," Mauri says. "I made this album for the version of me that first fell in love with music. It's my full-circle moment - a sonic hat tip to my beginnings - as well as a nod to the forefathers of jazz fusion and city pop for leaving us with great music." Through it all, he's kept the same DIY spirit, writing and recording every note himself, only now in a home studio of his own. On Odisea, Tapia blends neon-lit City Pop with the melodic sensibility of Latin American soft rock. Early Days (2016-2019) is a new collection of previously unreleased songs from Mauri Tapia a.k.a Los Retros.
