Released first as three EPs, 9PM, 12AM and 3AM, each explores a different moment of the night, from the anticipation of getting ready, to the unifying energy of the dancefloor, and finally the conversations and reflections that linger long after the music stops. Together, they culminate in The Night's Not Dead, a complete body of work that celebrates nightlife as far more than a party.

A genre- blurring statement born from bedrooms and late- night studio sessions, the album fuses live drums, analogue synths, samples, and dense percussion into something critics struggled to pin down - baggy grooves meet electro-pop meets rave culture. Originally designed as an extension of the band's unpredictable live shows, Harder Than It Should Be captures a rotating cast of collaborators and a core four-piece that expanded into an eight-member spectacle. In einer Zeit, in der alles dazu bestimmt scheint, konsumiert und anschließend vergessen zu werden, setzt Ferdi auf die Beständigkeit kreativen Schaffens. Sein Album entstand aus der Überzeugung heraus, dass Kunst ein kostbarer Raum bleibt: ein Ort der Erkundung, der Vermittlung und der Emotion, an dem jedes Detail das Ergebnis eines geduldigen kreativen Prozesses ist.

Von dieser Suche geprägt, ist das Album zugleich eine Hommage an seine Mutter – eine Möglichkeit, all jene zu würdigen, die im Stillen unsere Sichtweise, unsere Vorstellungskraft und unsere Sensibilität prägen.

„Once Upon A Time“ ist ein Schlüsseldokument des britischen Modern Jazz um 1970. Alan Skidmore
stellte das Quintett für das Montreux Jazz Festival 1969 zusammen, wo es gleich drei Preise gewann –
darunter als beste Gruppe und Skidmore als bester Solist. Der Erfolg führte zur Zusammenarbeit mit
Deram-Produzent Peter Eden. Mit Kenny Wheeler, John Taylor, Harry Miller und Tony Oxley vereinte
Skidmore einige der später wichtigsten Stimmen des europäischen Jazz. Das 1969 aufgenommene und
1970 auf Deram Nova (SDN 11) erschienene Album verbindet Skidmores Coltrane-geprägtes Tenorspiel
mit Modal Jazz und freien Formen.
