You can clearly hear decades of the city's influence, mad to think you'd see DJ Die bouncing around Stokes Croft on the rego, or spot Daddy G picking up some fish at the local market on my walk into work each day. First time on 45 for the other early Don Carlos killer from the Wackie's/Joe Morgan/Soul Syndicate connection. Previously only released on the "Reckless Roots Rockers" compilation LP. Rhythm laid & tune voiced in JA, mixed and overdubbed at Wackie's in NYC.

Part two of the FOX FIRE series is here, with more killer 1970's roots from Clive Matthews and Trevor Byfield. 'Jah Guide' is classic roots, originally released only on a UK 12-inch on the Ethnic Fight label.

Wicked previously unreleased late '80s combination tune from Icho Candy & his brother Prince Junior, who are sometimes confused for each other. On the same rhythm as King Kong's "Agony and Pain", which we've now repressed after being long out of stock (see link above). Lyrically about the struggle for freedom of the day, as resonant today as it was nearly 40 years ago.

King Kong's "Agony & Pain" has long been one of our favorite Jah Life tunes, released only on JA 7" in 1987, well-heavy in a sound killing style.

Another previously unreleased killer from the early '80s Radics / Scientist days, this one was played on dubplate by Volcano in JA and Jah Life in NY, alongside other cuts of the rhythm (also eventually to be released). This is Peter Ranking the singer, not the more well known deejay.

Soul Jazz Records presents this new collection featuring the heavy 70s roots reggae of Bunny
Lee - a living legend, one of the last of the great Jamaican record producers who helped shape
and define reggae music in the 1970s from a small island sound into an internationally
successful musical genre.
From teenage fan to young record plugger for Duke Reid, Sir Coxsone and other early
pioneering Jamaican musical entrepreneurs, Lee has spent his whole professional life inside the
Kingston music industry. In the 1970s he rose up to become one of the major record producers
in Jamaica alongside Lee 'Scratch' Perry and the other 'small axe' producers who broke the
dominance of the 'big tree' producers that had ruled Jamaican music in the 1960s.
Featuring some of the heaviest Jamaican artists, including Johnny Clarke, King Tubby, Dillinger,
Prince Jazzbo, Tommy McCook, The legendary Aggrovators (featuring Sly and Robbie), The
Mighty Diamonds and more, the album is a rollercoaster ride of rare, deep and classic 1970s
roots, dub and DJ sounds.
During this era, 'flying cymbals', crashing reverbs, dark echoing thunderclap gunshots and
other 'implements of sound' filled his record productions as Bunny Lee explored the outer limits
of dub with his friend King Tubby in the mix on wild versions that accompanied any 45. A
Bunny Lee record provides a creative and mysterious hidden guide to reggae music itself, a
double-sided three-minute intangible history lesson etched in wax.
Bunny Lee was one of the first Jamaican producers to travel to England in the late 1960s, at
the beginning of the nascent British reggae music industry as record companies such as
Trojan, Pama and others began licensing Jamaican music in the UK to supply the expanding
West Indian communities living up and down England. Lee encouraged other Jamaican
producers to do the same, including Lee Perry, Harry J and Niney The Observer and also
became a conduit between the British music industry and numerous younger Island-based
producers - a frequent flyer reggae ambassador, a musical courier exchanging tapes for
royalties.
Bunny Lee's first recordings in the late 1960s were mainly rock steady but as the 70s
approached the music soon began to mutate and slow down into 'reggae' as the sound became
heavier, more rootsy and the sound itself began to change with the explosion of dub.
Lee was at the forefront to this dramatic musical shift into roots reggae and by this time had
become a major producer, capable of working with whoever he chose as world-famous singers,
DJs and musicians lined up to work with the charismatic man. Lee also employed a fluid but
stable set of crack session musicians who he named The Aggrovators.
Most of the recordings featured here come from the mid 70s, a time when Bunny Lee was
definitely in the zone, releasing heavyweight singles at an almost unstoppable rate. Bunny
Lee's career stretches over five decades and he has upwards of 2,000 production credits on
vinyl.
This album comes with extensive sleevenotes, an interview with Bunny Lee and exclusive
photography. The album is available as a CD pack with 24-page booklet, massive triple LP vinyl
with digital download code, house inner and full notes, as well as digital album.

King Tubby's Hometown Hi-Fi was one of the great Sound System in Jamaica.
It also proved a fantastic outlet for the Dub Plate Specials cut at Tubby's studio, providing exclusive cuts to be played out and to entice the dance's audience.
The tracks at the time were mainly cut over producer Bunny'Striker'Lee rhythms, that Bunny stored at Tubby's studio, 18 Drumilly Avenue, Kingston, Jamaica.
The versions were given eclusive plays at Tubby's sound before some finding their way on to vinyl, ass the b-side version cut to it's a-side vocal.
It proved so popular that the records were often brought fir its version side over its vocal counterpart.
We have compiled a selection of cuts that were all tried and tested on Tubby's Home Town Hi-Fi Sounf System and that worked a great set of Bunny Lee's rhythms in fine style.
Some of these cuts found a release as version b-sides but many on this set were exclusive Dub Plates unreleased until now.

Another dig from the vaults results in another reissue in a 90s roots / dub classic which was recorded and produced by two of the most respected producers in the UK reggae scene: Nick `Manasseh' Raphael and Dougie `Conscious Sounds' Wardrop.
* Originally released on an extremely hard-to-find Conscious Sounds 7' in 1990.
* Featuring UK based roots reggae singer Tena Stelin and Centry which was the given name to any project that Dougie was involved with before he formed Bush Chemists.
* This 10' slab features the original vocal and dub cuts plus two extra previously unreleased dub cuts.
* `Can't Touch Jah' has been played extensively for nearly 30 years by the sound system heavyweights Aba Shanti I and Jah Shaka.

BERLIN, BRISTOL, CAIRO, JOHANNESBURG, KYIV, LAGOS, LISBON, LUANDA, NAIROBI, NAPLES
50 electronic music producers and instrumentalists from these ten cites were invited to collaborate
in studios over the course of more than six months. As a result hip-hop from the squats of Naples,
dubstep and bass from Bristol and Lisbon, experimental techno from Berlin and jazz-tnged deep-house
from Kiev are thrust upon the pumping kuduro of Luanda, the free-thinking crackled electronica of
Cairo, the afro-jazz of Lagos & Johnannesburg, and the Sheng street slang of Kenyan hip-hop and rap.
A selecton of the results of these cross-contnental experiments can be heard on this record.

Zwei wahre cineastische Juwelen auf einer 7"-Single. Eine Auskopplung aus der beliebten Vinyl-Compilation-Reihe "The Tape Masters", die laufend seltene Rare Groove-Schätze und unveröffentlichte Aufnahmen aus den Archiven des Filmkomponisten Peter Thomas zutage fördert. Später natürlich weltberühmt geworden als Donna Summer, markiert dieser Song ihre allererste Aufnahme als Solokünstlerin im Alter von gerade einmal 20 Jahren. Zugleich war es ihr erster Auftritt vor der Kamera – prominent platziert im ZDF-Krimi-Dreiteiler "11 Uhr 20" (1969). Sowohl der Film als auch bisherige Sampler verwendeten die englischsprachige Version; der Mono-Mix der deutschen Fassung wurde erst vor Kurzem in Peter Thomas’ Bandarchiv wiederentdeckt. Ein weiteres vokales Highlight aus einer deutschen Krimi-Trilogie ist Senta Bergers frech-laszives "Vergiss mich, wenn du kannst" (aus dem ZDF-Krimi-Dreiteiler "Babeck", 1968). Das Lied basiert auf dem Titelthema der Serie und wird von der Sängerin in ihrer Rolle als geheimnisvolle, vamp-artige Barchefin interpretiert. Unter Liebhabern europäischer Filmmusik hat sich der Titel längst zum Kultstück entwickelt und wurde bereits mehrfach gecovert. Das Original feiert nun endlich hier seine Vinyl-Premiere. Achtung: Ein absoluter Doppelseiter!

GEORG DANZER - "JAHRESZEITEN" - Das Beste aus fünf Jahrzehnten Anlässlich des 80. Geburtstags des großen österreichischen Liedermachers GEORG DANZER veröffentlicht Sony Music eine von Georg Danzers langjährigem Wegbegleiter und Manager Franz Christian Schwarz liebevoll kompilierte Best Of mit dem Titel "Jahreszeiten". Das auf farbiger 2LP sowie auf 1CD erhältliche Album umfasst Lieder aus jeder Schaffensphase des 2007 verstorbenen Künstlers, dessen musikalisches Erbe die österreichische Musik nachhaltig prägte. Das Albumcover setzt sich aus vier Portraits Georg Danzers zusammen, die von Nina Maron, Tochter des unvergessenen Sigi Maron, gemalt wurden. Franz Christian Schwarz beschreibt die Zusammenstellung der Best Of mit folgenden Worten: "Alle meine Lieder sind wie Sonne Mond & Sterne" ist der Beginn eines Liedes auf der CD-Single "Sonne, Mond & Sterne", die anlässlich der gleichnamigen DVD-Veröffentlichung von Georg Danzer erschienen ist. Diese Liedzeile gab auch den Ausschlag, die vorliegende Doppel-LP "Jahreszeiten" zu nennen, um die Bandbreite von Danzers musikalischer Vielfalt unter Beweis zu stellen. Danzer schaffte es wie kaum ein anderer Beobachtungen, Erzählungen, Gedanken und Emotionen in Worte und Melodien zu fassen. Mit über fünfhundert veröffentlichten Liedern für sich selbst und andere Interpretinnen und Interpreten zählt Danzer zu den produktivsten Liederschreibern des Landes. Einige seiner Lieder hielten auch in Schul- und Notenheften Einzug. Die vorliegende Doppel-Vinyl und die um einen Titel verkürzte CD-Version wurden eine spezielle Zusammenstellung, auf der neben bekannten Liedern auch solche zu hören sind, die entweder bisher unbekannt oder dem Zuhörer nicht so geläufig sind, aber das musikalische Spektrum des großartigen Poppoeten widerspiegeln. Mit "Stadt der blauen Eier - Selected Recordings and Rarities 1980-1981" widmet sich Tapete Records einer der außergewöhnlichsten und heute weitgehend unterschätzten Gruppen des frühen deutschen Punk. Korpus Kristi gehörten gemeinsam mit Bands wie Die Radierer und The Wirtschaftswunder zur sogenannten "Limburger Pest", einer Bewegung, die Anfang der 1980er Jahre einige der eigenständigsten Veröffentlichungen des bundesdeutschen Undergrounds hervorbrachte. Diese Werkschau bündelt Singles, Raritäten und ausgewählte Albumaufnahmen aus den Jahren 1980 und 1981 und dokumentiert die kreative Radikalität einer Band, die Punk, Avantgarde und künstlerische Provokation auf einzigartige Weise verband. Die Zusammenstellung macht ein lange vergriffenes Kapitel deutscher Punkgeschichte wieder zugänglich und unterstreicht die anhaltende Bedeutung von Korpus Kristi innerhalb der experimentellen Underground-Szene jener Zeit.

This release closes the current run of much‑needed raids on the Digi Dub archives. Label boss Berwick emerged from the DIY ferment of Camberwell's squat era , blending reggae and rave influences into a stream of boundary‑pushing music and events under a tangle of ever‑shifting aliases. Nodding to the Far East stylings of Augustus Pablo, South‑Eastern Style finds Berwick, working under his Mudskipper alias, refracting Pablo’s melodic meditations through a mutoid bass filter, delivering six cuts of idiosyncratic, genre- agnostic electronics.

Some of Berwick’s Mudskipper material was partially exhumed for digital release in 2021, but the alias was only one of several he deployed during Digi Dub’s most fertile years and during the 90s Mudskipper material was released sparingly. It feels fitting, then, that this project finally gets its due in the form of a full vinyl release.

Beware Dub is the only track here to have seen daylight before, with a version originally appearing on the 1996 four‑track EP 4 Golems. It makes a fine opener: an agile bassline rolling through tunnels of processed skank, rocking in a haze of centrifugal breakbeat. Ambrosial Dub mounts an imperious, guitar‑laced groove onto a solid steppers march, while Pillars Dub drives another vigorous, sub‑heavy bassline forward in the mix alongside a mechanised rhythm track, shards of noirish piano and bursts of twinkling synth.

The second side opens with the cosmic skank of Stand It Dub, followed by the mutated one‑drop drift of Where There’s Dub, suspended in a canopy of gentle keys. Wasted Dub closes the EP in fine style, Berwick applying widescreen dubwise pressure: a robust low end topped with the distinctive twin twangs of jaw harp and slide guitar, coming on like Jah Shaka meeting Ry Cooder.

Unglaublich, aber es ist tatsächlich schon zwanzig Jahre her, dass Georg Danzers Album „Träumer“ veröffentlicht wurde. Damals allerdings ausschliesslich als CD, die heutzutage schon fast ein Wegwerfprodukt
wurde. Wer hätte sich gedacht, dass nach der langen Zeit seit der Erstveröffentlichung die grosse schwarze
Scheibe wieder in Mode gekommen ist.
Es lag daher nahe auch Georgs 33. und letztes Studioalbum erstmalig auf Vinyl zu veröffentlichen.
Somit erscheint rechtzeitig zu Danzers 80. Geburtstag „Träumer“ in einer ”20th Anniversary Edition”
als Doppelalbum auf blauem durscheinendem Vinyl mit zwei unveröffentlichten Liedern wie „Ollas hod
sein’ Preis“ das eigentlich für den Austria3-Film „Jackpot“ gedacht war und „Schwoazza Reg’n“, der ursprünglichen Version des Titelliedes „Träumer“.
Georg Tomandl hat alle Titel nach den Maßstäben der modernen Tontechnik neu gemastered.
Die von Gerhard Weber liebevoll gestaltete Klapphülle inklusive aller Texte auf den Innenhüllen verleiht
dieser Veröffentlichung noch zusätzlichen Charme und sollte daher in keinem Plattenschrank fehlen.

Featuring some of the best female vocal singles released over the years, most of which have never before appeared in LP format, plus a genuinely rare Sharon Liltle cut, previously only available on a very elusive Gorgon 7" ("Jah Love Is Gold").

Dina Summer is the Berlin-based collaborative project of Greek-German dark-disco couple Local Suicide and Bavarian electronic producer Kalipo. The supergroup began working together in 2019 and have since been refining their combined sound. It is a unique blend of their influences, drawing from 80s italo disco, new wave, EBM and early 00s electroclash for a dark retro-futuristic synth/wave pop sound that stands out with club-ready basslines, epic melodic hooks, and lyrics ranging from dadaist abstractions to empowering, thought-provoking themes.

The trio will return with their new mini album, “Children Of The Night”, bringing together all the elements that have defined their sound so far. From the disco infused synth pop of “Burning Heart” and “Bats In Paris,” recalling their debut album Rimini (2022), to the dark club driven tracks “Fuel”, “Komodo 3000”. and the title track “Children Of The Night,” which echo the atmosphere of Hide & Seek (2024), and the dark wave influenced indie songs “Rat Race” and “On The Road”, which would have felt right at home on “Girls Gang” (2025), the release showcases the full spectrum of the band's musical identity. The nine track record takes its title from and pays homage to Bela Lugosi's iconic line in Dracula (1931): “Listen to them. Children of the night… what music they make”.
