"Deeply tied to the composer’s own life, the narrative of Lacrimosa invites reflection in the face of loss. This sonic work draws inspiration from Alice Coltrane’s spiritual Eternity (1976) as well as the traditional structure of the Requiem, a mass for the dead. One of its sections, the Dies Irae, evokes Judgment Day and concludes with the Lacrimosa (literally, “full of tears”), depicting the weeping of souls in search of salvation.

In Lacrimosa, Low Jack transforms autobiographical elements into a messianic, polyglot form, unfolding across eight movements that chart the storms and serenity of grief. The piece unfolds from dawn to dusk, as the eyes open and then close. An initiatory solar cycle, from which one returns like Dante in his Divine Comedy, transcendent yet grief-stricken by the loss of a guiding presence.

Low Jack crafts one of his most intimate compositions, weaving together musical archetypes and universal narrative structures, drawing from both classical lyrical music and pop standards."

Mit diesem einzigartigen Album begann vor 32 Jahren die aussergewöhnliche Geschichte einer der schillerndsten Bands der deutschsprachigen Musikgeschichte - LACRIMOSA. Im Original wurde dieses Album in einer Auflage von gerade einmal 1.000 Exemplaren allein auf Vinyl veröffentlicht, bevor es Ende 1992 auch als CD erhältlich wurde und in den folgenden Jahren Kultstatus erlangte.

Am 17. November 2023 erscheint «Angst» nun endlich wieder auf Vinyl, und zwar hergestellt von den originalen Produktionsmitteln der ursprünglichen LP von 1991!

LACRIMOSA was the first band combining Gothic with Metal, flooded by classical orchestrations when they released their groundbreaking “Schakal” back in 1994!
Two years later, LACRIMOSA was headlining the Dark Winter Nights Festivals, the first Festival-Tour ever bringing together Gothic and Metal bands on one stage, such as THE GATHERING, SENTENCED or DREAMS OF SANITY.
The rest is history: Many bands from the Metal as well as from the Gothic scene followed their example and Gothic-Metal and Symphonic-Metal became established music styles until the very day.

In the meantime, LACRIMOSA elaborated and improved their musical proficiency, while staying independent from any major label since day one until today, playing shows around the world from Argentina to China since more than 20 years, and now bringing it all together in this masterpiece: Passion meets perfection, pain meets salvation, and darkness meets the guiding light of love! “Leidenschaft” is more than a new album, it is a magical achievement of pure passion!

Bambe welcomes Low Jack — the alias of French producer Philippe Hallais — to the label with his debut single “MARKET,” backed by a remix from Bambe label head Bambounou. Following the dark ambient explorations of his recent album Lacrimosa on Stroom, Low Jack returns decisively to the dance floor, channeling his club instincts while preserving a deep-rooted connection to contemporary art.

Originally conceived as a commissioned composition for Australian visual artist Thomas Jeppe, “MARKET” was created to accompany an immersive installation exploring the hallucinatory rhythms of cosmopolitan life. The work was presented in February 2025 at Circolo UltraFiorucci, a newly launched cultural space in Milan, where sound and image converged to envelop visitors in Jeppe’s vivid, destabilized urban vision.

Recontextualized for the club, “MARKET” bridges installation and dance floor, reinforcing Low Jack’s singular ability to move fluidly between experimental art contexts and forward-leaning club music — now sharpened further by Bambounou’s remix, which pushes the track into electro territory.

Album "My Life - Preisner's Music is a live recording from a concert held in November 2024 in Bielsko-Bia?a, marking the occasion of Zbigniew Preisner receiving Honorary Citizenship of his hometown, Bielsko-Bia?a.
This year, on May 20th, Zbigniew Preisner will celebrate his 70th birthday, and the album is a his gift he made to himself.

The album includes 17 iconic themes composed by Zbigniew Preisner among others from Three Colours, Decalogue, The Secret garden, The double life of Veronique, Damage, When a man loves a woman, Eminent Domain, Aberdeen, Mouvements du desir, Lost and Love, but also Lacrimosa from Requiem for my Friend in the interpretation of Dominik Wania.

"When I teach the films of Krzysztof Kieslowski at Columbia University, I always mention that Zbigniew Preisner is one of the world's greatest film composers. He has many fans among my students. And now there is a new album, a haunting distillation of his movie scores into solo piano performances. It demonstrates how he is the master composer of the tritone, trill and tremolo. Listening to his compositions in their own terms - separate from the cinema screen - foregrounds his distinctive and often plaintive melodies.
Because orchestration, lyrics and narrative function are absent, the listener can focus on the richness of the "standalone" music, beautifully performed by Dominik Wania. For example, the memorable score from Kieslowski's "Double Life of Veronique" now feels more ominous than lyrical. From "Mouvements du desir," the tinkling piano sounds grow into cascading notes that envelop the listener. Whether classical (as in "When a Man Loves a Woman" and "The Waltz from The Funeral") or jazz ("The Secret Garden"), the music reigns when there is no movie screen to distract us. Der Nachfolger des selbstbetitelten Snakeskin-Debüts aus 2022, Tilo Wolffs (Lacrimosa) Seitenprojekt, ist eine Kollaboration der Singer/Songwriterin Julia Sabra mit dem Produzenten/Multiinstrumentalisten Fadi Tabbal. Die anhaltende Freundschaft des Paares führt zu einer seltenen Art von Synergie, die an Arbeiten von Virginia Astley mit Ryuichi Sakamoto, Trish Keenan und James Cargill (Broadcast) oder von Angelo Baladamenti und Julee Cruise bei Twin Peaks erinnert. Während Julia textlich ihr bisher lebendigstes und eindringlichstes Werk vorlegt, fügt Fadi der Industrial-Drone-Ambient-Palette des Duos Exkursionen in Hyperpop und Electronica hinzu.

Funeral Folk is a collaboration between the grammy nomineed folk musician Sara Parkman and the international touring composer Maria W Horn This album was released in July 2022 by Kali Malones label XKatedral and have gained great reviews in The Wire, Lira and Boomkat. In february 2023 the music was played live at Berghain in Berlin. Funeral Folk is music in the land between black metal and folk, drone and hymns, archaic songs and experimental andscapes. Somewhere in between Pauline Oliveros, Bjork, Anna Von Hausswollf and Wardruna.

Requiem for Jazz is a 12-movement suite composed and arranged by Angel Bat Dawid, inspired in part by dialogue from Edward O. Bland’s 1959 film “The Cry of Jazz.”

The original form of the music was premiered at the 2019 edition of the Hyde Park Jazz Festival in Chicago, where Angel conducted a multigenerational fifteen-piece instrumental ensemble (all Black musicians from Chicago’s creative music community) alongside a four- person choir (featuring singers from Black Monument Ensemble), dancers, and visual artists in performance.

Angel mixed and post-produced recordings from the performance – adding interludes, vocals and additional sounds, as well as transcribing a piece from “The Cry of Jazz” film. The final movement of Requiem for Jazz features Marshall Allen and Knoel Scott of the Sun Ra Arkestra. Their contributions were recorded remotely at the historic Arkestral Institute of Sun Ra in Philadelphia in late 2020.

The final Requiem for Jazz work in album form is an immersive 24-track, double LP experience. The physical package is a deluxe, heavyweight gatefold jacket with liner notes by South African writer Nombuso Mathibela, artwork by Damon Locks, and a large fold out poster designed by Jeremiah Chiu, featuring poetry written by Angel Bat Dawid in dedication to all of her collaborators on the project. Additionally, there is a limited Thy Kingdom Come purple color vinyl edition of Requiem for Jazz available for the first pressing only.

For the last 12 years audiences have scrambled to get seats at
venues whenever celebrated American tenor saxophonist Mark Turner toured with Danish guitarist Mikkel Ploug's quartet.

The bond between the musicians becomes especially evident when
they explore their shared musical language, which seamlessly blends composed and improvised material.

On Nocturnes Ploug presents new original compositions and fresh
interpretations of inspiring source material by Danish composers
Bent Sorensen and Carl Nielsen.

Dezember 1991: In der Ehe zwischen dem Prinzen und der Prinzessin von Wales herrscht seit Langem Eiszeit. Trotz der wilden Gerüchte über Affären und eine Scheidung wird für die Weihnachtsfeierlichkeiten auf dem königlichen Landsitz Sandringham ein Frieden verhängt. Es wird gegessen und getrunken, geschossen
und gejagt. Diana kennt das Spiel. Dieses Jahr wird es eine ganz andere Wendung nehmen.

Als Jóhann Jóhannsson im Winter 2018 überraschend in Berlin starb, endete auch ein hochinteressantes Zusammenspiel der Künste. Jóhann Jóhannsson hatte es gewagt, hatte Musik und Literatur, Musik und Theater, Musik und Film in seinen Kompositionen miteinander kommunizieren lassen, sehr innovativ, oft melancholisch, immer tiefgründig, klassische und elektronische Elemente verschmelzend.
Den Philanthropen und Kunstsammler Richard Thomas interessierten genau solche Grenzgänge. Er stellte sich vor, dass ein Werk entsteht, bei dem die bildende Kunst und die Musik in einen Dialog treten, sich
jedoch nicht gegenseitig übermalen, einander in Produktion und Interpretation nicht nachlaufen, sondern eins werden. Und er hatte einen Künstler vor Augen, den Berliner Maler Thilo Heinzmann, der seinerseits sofort an Jóhann Jóhannsson dachte.

Gaspard Augé hat schon immer brillant reißerische, musikalische Welten geschaffen, in denen man sich
verlieren kann. Am bekanntesten ist er als eine Hälfte von Justice, dem Duo, das Mitte der 2000er Jahre
Rock und Rave vereinte und dessen Dancefloor-Smashes eine ganze Generation definierten. Sein diesjähriges
Solo-Debütalbum „Escapades“ besiegelt seinen Ruf als Meister des Maximalismus, ein elektronischer Autor,
dessen imaginäre Soundtracks ein erfrischender Ruck aus der Realität sind. Seine köstlich massiven Traumlandschaften beschwört Bilder von progressiven, heidnischen Ritualen im Orbit oder Spaghetti-Western auf
einer Raumstation herauf. Seien wir ehrlich, der Zappa-artige Produzent hatte nie vor, eine introspektive
Platte zu schreiben: „Ich war schon immer davon besessen, überlebensgroße Musik zu machen“, sagt er.
„Vor allem, weil es mehr Spaß macht“.
Das letzte Mal hörten wir von Augé, als er und Xavier De Rosnay von Justice einen Grammy 2019 für ihr
Album ”Woman Worldwide” gewannen, ein Überarbeitungspaket ihres Katalogs aus dem letzten Jahrzehnt.
”Das Tolle an den Grammys ist, dass man im Voraus nicht weiß, ob man gewonnen hat oder nicht, also kam
es völlig überraschend”, sagt Augé. Es war eine verdiente Anerkennung für ihre gemeinsame, bahnbrechende
Arbeit. ”Wir haben uns einfach gefreut und dachten: ’Wir müssen etwas richtig gemacht haben’”, sagt
Augé. ”Und wir dachten: ’Okay, jetzt können wir dieses Kapitel abschließen’.”
