Twisted Teens - alias Caspian Halliwell und RJ Santos - gab es vor ihrem Debüt-LP aus dem Jahr 2024, das heute als The Orange Album bekannt ist, eigentlich gar nicht. Twisted Teens entstanden aus einem pandemiebedingten Inspirationsschub, der sie zusammenbrachte, um in passender Lo-Fi-Manier in Caspians Haus in New Orleans aufzunehmen. Ihr erstes Album wurde schnell zu einem modernen Klassiker des eingängigen, warmen Rocks, der Blues, Folk und Punk zu einer rohen und unwiderstehlichen Mischung vereint. Das Duo meldete sich 2026 stark zurück mit Blame the Clown - das sofort von Pitchfork und Paste begeistert gelobt wurde - und anschließend mit dem ebenso gefeierten Florida Water Blues, einer absurden Betrachtung ihrer Streifzüge rund um die Welt. Ihr drittes fesselndes und perfekt schräges Album aus dem Jahr 2026 ist eine Saga über Herzschmerz und verborgene Triumphe namens The Holy Cross Tigers. ,Smoking the Bunny" ist das zweite Album einer geplanten Trilogie von Wilder Maker und verbindet Avant-Pop, Indie-Rock, Free Jazz und Ambient zu einem vielschichtigen, nächtlichen Klangbild. Bandleader Gabriel Birnbaum setzt auf experimentelle Kompositionen, die aus improvisierten Bandsessions entstanden und anschließend kreativ neu zusammengesetzt wurden. Die in Austin ansässigen Lieblinge der experimentellen Indie-Rock-Szene, Font, haben ihr zweites Album über einen Zeitraum von zwei Jahren geschrieben. ,Chicano Poetry" begann als viraler Instagram-Clip des mexikanisch-amerikanischen Musikers Obed Padilla und entwickelte sich anschließend zu einem vollständigen Song. Basierend auf einem Sample von Darondos Soul-Klassiker ,Didn't I" verbindet der Track lässige West-Coast-Vibes mit persönlichem Storytelling und modernen Hip-Hop-Einflüssen. Mike first made his mark in the Dutch underground through Club Risk and later RiskSoundSystem, two platforms that helped shape nightlife culture in the Netherlands throughout the 1990s and 2000s. After decades spent championing the music of others, Now Is Forever is Mike adding his own chapter to the culture that shaped his life.

Created with longtime collaborator Greg van Bueren (Hardsoul) between Amsterdam and Singapore, the album is a deeply personal tribute to the music, people and places that shaped him. From the clubs of Amsterdam and London to the sounds of Chicago, New York and Detroit, it distils decades of dancefloors, record stores, studios and late-night conversations into one body of work.

Across To Remind Myself I Have Lived, aquatic sounds drift through hazy electronics and lush bedroom textures, before giving way to harsher, more industrial British landscapes. Voices appear and disappear. Loops seem to circle memories rather than rhythms. Guitar fragments become dream sequences. Domestic spaces open onto something colder and more distant.

The new album by London-based Michele Tellarini under the Catholic Block moniker gathers works made across five years, moving between composition, improvisation and a more instinctive form of sound collage. Known for his work with concrete punks Qlowski (Feel It Records/Maple Death) and goth-punks Secrecy (La Vida Es Un Mus), Tellarini approaches this material without the conventions of a traditional song cycle, allowing disparate pieces to find their own connections.

There is something strangely timeless in these works: a quality shared with music that seems to exist slightly outside its own moment, from the intimate, confidential organic realm of Mount Eerie to Bruce Gilbert's more abstract electronic and ambient experiments or the haunting digital world of Holly Herndon. To Remind Myself I Have Lived belongs to that same uncertain space, music that feels both deeply tied to the circumstances of its making and somehow detached from them, music for the lonely that shines with crepuscular clarity.

Acid Pauli returns to the curious world of Gwar Is Not The Answer (originally released 2006 on Smaul) with a carefully remastered re-release that includes two new remixes from Jonathan Kaspar and Acid Pauli. The title track unfolds at an unhurried pace, weaving loose acid traces through warm percussion and off-centre melodic fragments that seem to appear and dissolve before settling into place. It drifts forward with a quiet sense of momentum, balancing eccentric textures with a groove that remains firmly grounded throughout. With his new remix Jonathan Kaspar takes the original into leaner territory, sharpening its contours and drawing out its tension while preserving the peculiar character at its core. His remix stretches the track into a more focused club framework where rolling low-end pressure meets finely tuned rhythmic movement, allowing small details to carry unexpected weight. On the flip Acid Pauli revisits the track from a different angle. The remix opens up the source material into a spacious and fluid arrangement where shimmering tones circle around a deep pulse and subtle harmonic shifts gradually reveal themselves over time. Together the three versions explore different dimensions of the same musical language, moving between psychedelic house, understated dancefloor functionality and the kind of idiosyncratic storytelling that has long defined Acid Pauli's work.

Mit Khudgarzi präsentiert Sheherazaad ihr mit Spannung erwartetes Debütalbum und die konsequente Weiterentwicklung ihres vielbeachteten künstlerischen Ansatzes. SIDE B presents the first installment of a new series aimed at eroding classic structures within club music from inside the playing field. 'The Unshaped Series' pushes depth into the label's mission statement, isolating tone and texture, and confronting its listeners by raising not only the experimental undertones of the music it has been showcasing. This new take provides an opportunity for these spaces to be described and for new emotions to glow between the same walls in turn.

For 'The Unshaped Series' first volume, SIDE B emphasizes its name by challenging ten techno producers to detach themselves from their habitual arrangements. If the rhythm that we hold so dear is taken out of the equation, what is left? This question is answered by the bleeding edge of the international scene and pressed on wax to offer a unique product in concept and quality. Techno has spearheaded sonic research and its artistic application since its beginnings, so to honor this tradition, SIDE B compiles these pieces to boil down the true essence of club music into what it truly is : sculpting time and space.

Hey! Mein Name ist Terry Cole, und ich habe das Privileg, ein wunderbares unabhängiges Plattenlabel namens Colemine Records in Loveland, Ohio, zu betreiben. Im März 2020, als die Realität einer globalen Pandemie einsetzte, waren wir uns nicht sicher, wie es mit unserem Veröffentlichungsplan weitergehen sollte. Alles kam quasi sofort zum Stillstand. Aber nach ein paar Wochen des Brainstormings beschlossen wir, dass wir - obwohl unser Plan für physische Veröffentlichungen völlig auf den Kopf gestellt worden war - jeden Donnerstag abends eine neue digitale Single veröffentlichen würden, bis wir den normalen Betrieb wieder aufnehmen konnten. Wir nannten die Kampagne ,Brighter Days Ahead", denn bei Colemine versuchen wir, immer das Positive zu sehen, wann immer es geht. Also haben wir den größten Teil des Jahres 2020 lang jeden Donnerstag digitale Singles veröffentlicht; dazu gab es virtuelle Listening-Partys und DJ-Sets auf YouTube. Das hat ziemlich viel Spaß gemacht. All diese Songs gipfelten in einem 2-LP-Set, das wir schließlich 2021 in physischer Form veröffentlicht haben. Und obwohl wir hoffen, dass so etwas wie eine globale Pandemie nie wieder passiert, musste ich zugeben, dass ich einen Weg finden wollte, die ,Brighter Days Ahead"-Kampagne zu einer Art dauerhaftem Projekt für uns zu machen. Während ich das hier schreibe, ist es das Jahr 2026 - offensichtlich habe ich also ein paar Jahre gebraucht, um diese Idee zu entwickeln, aber wir sind endlich am Ziel angekommen und das fühlt sich verdammt gut an. Die Idee ist ziemlich einfach: Der erste Band von ,Brighter Days Ahead" verfolgte einen rückblickenden Ansatz _ eine Zusammenstellung dessen, was wir bereits veröffentlicht hatten _ und dieses Mal verfolgen wir einen vorausschauenden Ansatz. Was du in deinen Händen hältst, ist ein Vorgeschmack auf das, was noch kommen wird. Diese Platte ist eine Kristallkugel, die tief in die musikalische Zukunft des Jahres 2027 blickt und dir einen kleinen Vorgeschmack darauf gibt, worauf du dich aus dem Colemine-Universum freuen kannst. Und wisst ihr was? Dieses Stück Plastik, das ihr in euren Händen haltet, ist die einzige Möglichkeit, es zu hören. Diese Songs sind noch nicht digital erhältlich. Einige davon sind Rohmischungen. Visteria ist das Projekt der Warschauer Musikerin Hönorata – Gitarren, Bass, Gesang und Produktion liegen in den Händen einer Frau, deren Einflüsse von Female-Fronted US-Metal bis zu frühem britischen Hardcore der Marke G.B.H. oder Broken Bones reicht. „Ich habe jahrelang zu Bands wie Détente, Chastain oder Znöwhite mitgeschrien und dabei versucht, meine eigene Stimme zu entwickeln“, sagt sie. „Détente war dabei ein besonders wichtiger Einfluss auf den Sound, den ich anstrebe.“
Das selbstbetitelte Debüt-Demo erschien Ende 2024 zunächst bei Godz Ov War Productions und war in der ersten Kassettenauflage nahezu sofort vergriffen – eine zweite folgte, mit demselben Ergebnis. „Visteria“ bietet vier Tracks plus Intro in 15 Minuten: kompakte, furiose Statements, getragen von rohem Riffing und Hönoratas intensivem Schreigesang.
Die Ästhetik — Leder, Nieten, Antikreuze — ist genauso prägnant wie die Musik, und Hönorata zieht keine Trennlinie dazwischen. „Das Erscheinungsbild eines Künstlers ist die visuelle Erweiterung seiner Musik, seiner Botschaft, seiner Haltung und Persönlichkeit. Image und Musik sind untrennbar verbunden.“ Als High Roller Records sie nach dem Black Silesia Festival kontaktierte, war sie überrascht: „Ich konnte es wirklich kaum fassen.“ Die Neuauflage als 12“ Mini-LP und CD gibt nun all denjenigen, die das Tape verpasst haben, die Gelegenheit, ihr Versäumnis nachzuholen.

Das fünfte Studioalbum von Psychic Ills, ,Inner Journey Out", feiert sein zehnjähriges Jubiläum. Ursprünglich erschien es 2016 als erstes Album der Band seit ,One Track Mind" (2013) und gilt als Höhepunkt einer dreijährigen Odyssee des Songwritings, die die Psych-Rock-Landschaft durchquert, die Psychic Ills im Laufe ihrer Karriere geprägt haben, während sie inspirierte Ausflüge in Country, Blues, Gospel und Jazz unternahmen. ,Inner Journey Out" begann so, wie viele Alben von Psychic Ills: mit den Demos von Frontmann Tres Warren. Wie bei allen ihren Alben ist Elizabeth Harts Bass das Bindeglied, das alles zusammenhält. Jnbo ist der Künstlername von Henry Jenkins, einem Komponisten, Produzenten/Toningenieur und Bassisten aus Melbourne/Naarm. Jenkins ist den meisten als Produzent/Toningenieur hinter Surprise Chef, Karate Boogaloo und der für den Grammy nominierten Frollen Music Library bekannt. Als hauseigener Toningenieur für Aufnahmen und Abmischungen bei College In-House-Aufnahme- und Mix-Ingenieur bei Knowledge Records hat Jenkins die klangliche Grundlage für die instrumentale Cinematic-Soul-Bewegung von Melbourne/Naarm geschaffen. Auf ,& Friends" setzt Jenkins seine Fähigkeiten für seine eigenen brillanten Kompositionen ein. Das Album umfasst 12 introspektive Instrumentalstücke - tiefe, cineastische Odysseen, die von Romantik und Aufrichtigkeit durchdrungen sind und jenen unverkennbaren ,Freak Funk Bump" haben. Lewis Taylor is a rising 20-something house head from Newcastle who shows off his chops on this new one from Ebullience. Ebullience is a good way of describing his take on tech and minimal, too. There is plenty of cheer in the lively synth work of opener 'Do You Wanna Come Party', to which the answer is yes, please, very much so. 'Satisfaction' has its head up in the clouds with more wispy cosmic synth motifs, zippy grooves and silky pads that are luminous and pure. 'Optimism' strikes that same balance between low-end oomph and celestial melodic charm - a fresh, future blend that is perfect for summer. 'Still Dreaming' closes with more mature melodies and accomplished arrangements that quietly buzz.

What we do know is that few figures in dance music have spent as much time digging, discovering, and championing forgotten sounds as the Italian maestro. Long before algorithms, reissue campaigns, and online marketplaces made obscurity accessible, Beppe was uncovering hidden treasures and introducing them to adventurous dance floors. His influence stretches from the legendary Typhoon club to the present day, inspiring generations of DJs, collectors, and cosmic music devotees along the way. Italian Spaghetti Disco Freak Vol. 5 offers four more clues. Drawn from Beppe's vast archive and lovingly retooled for modern-day disco freaks, these edits are a reminder that the best dance floors are built on surprise. Strange records become anthems, forgotten melodies become obsessions, and once again Beppe proves that nobody keeps dancers guessing quite like he does. By now, the evidence is overwhelming. Looking back on her career in the early 90s, Stevie Nicks described the first track of Rock a Little as “the most exciting song that I had ever heard.” This coming from a superstar who was already closely affiliated with several bajillion-selling Fleetwood Mac albums — to say nothing of her own benchmark solo debut. Her remarks attest to the enthusiasm and effort she invested in her third record, a 1985 work that quickly furthered Nicks’ profile and cemented itself as a piece of 80s pop lore.

Mastered at MoFi’s California studio, pressed at Fidelity Record Pressing in California, strictly limited to 4,000 numbered copies, and housed in a Stoughton gatefold jacket, Mobile Fidelity’s 180g 45RPM 2LP set presents Rock a Little in audiophile sound for its 40th anniversary. Helmed by a cadre of producers and engineers, and recorded for a reported one million dollars, the platinum-certified album teems with a head-spinning array of colors, tones, dreamscapes, and accents. This reference-grade reissue marks the first time they are all brought to light and conveyed with proper balance, dimensionality, and positioning.

Though Rock a Little doubtlessly has period characteristics of a mid-80s LP, Nicks and company spare no expense when it comes to distinguishing the music with expansive sonics distinguished with lush melodies, high-tech percussion, echoing vocals, sampled keyboards, and layers of sophisticated accents. The degrees of spaciousness, headroom, and dynamics are nothing less than inspiring, while the newly enhanced detail, texture, and clarity make the songs sing like never before. As for Nicks’ voice? Wait ’til you experience the transparency and depth.

Those advantages extend, of course, to the aforementioned “I Can’t Wait,” a statement-making opener shot through with modulating synthesizers, splashy drums, metallic guitars, and serious drama. Holed up in a massive studio, Nicks required just one take to nail her part, which she called “magic and simply not able to beat.” The singer-songwriter also distilled the reverberating emotional essence of the Top 20 tune, stating “when I hear it on the radio, this incredible feeling comes over me, like something really incredible is about to happen.”

The same can be said for nearly all of Rock a Little. Crafted by the likes of Songwriters Hall of Fame multi-instrumentalist/producer Rick Nowels, Heartbreakers organist Benmont Tench, bassist Bob Glaub, jack-of-all-trades Greg Phillinganes, and session-pro guitarists Waddy Watchel, Les Dudek, and Danny Kortchmar — along with another two dozen or so participants — the record spills with diverse ideas, shapes, and moods. Everything is in the right place, as evidenced by the swirling glide and sensual undertow of the slightly funky title track to the snapping rhythmic pace and big hooks of “Imperial Hotel,” one of Nicks’ standout moments.

“What was it she wanted?” Nicks queries on “No Spoken Word,” continuing a theme of contemplation that runs through the narratives. Nicks never lands on a definite answer, but hearing her explore loneliness, love, and the secrets we keep to ourselves proves continuously rewarding. Take her passionate performance on a cover of Chas Sanford’s “Talk to Me,” a Top 5 smash furthered by tasteful saxophone lines and understated folk elements. Immersive yourself in the grand sonic corridors of “If I Were You,” laden with Nicks’ signature mysticism.

Moreover, surrender to the gravitas of the closing “Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for You,” a piano ballad composed about the death of Joe Walsh’s three-year-old daughter. As Nicks asserts earlier on the album, she sings for things money can’t buy.

So, rock a little, yes, but dare to feel even more.

Maybe in the future a Moonrover will be launched to other planets and satellites. And this is only a small part of the huge research capacity of humankind. Using this capacity to the full we hope to find answers to the questions on the origin and existence of life.
