The Reds, Pinks & Purples is a San Francisco indie band led by Glenn Donaldson (The Ivy Tree, Skygreen Leopards, Art Museums and Painted Shrine). For fans of_ Guided By Voices, The Chills, Teenage Fanclub, The Shins, The Replacements, Leonard Cohen, The Go-Betweens, Robert Wyatt. Having penned over 200 songs in the last six years, The Reds, Pinks and Purples release a collection of tracks previously unreleased on physical format that continues to romanticise the wonders and woes of the world. With song titles that read like chapter sub-heads for a post-Douglas Coupland novella, 'The Past Is A Garden I Never Fed' takes The Reds, Pinks and Purples central orator Glenn Donaldson through the turmoil of small talk and everyday water cooler moments with a fine sense of pathos and irony. Set to a soundtrack that swerves between the dark days of Television Personalities and Byrdsian twang to the Jarvis Cocker-styled rhetoric and vocal tenderness of 'Richard In the Age Of The Corporation' with hints of everything from Husker Du's fuzzed splendour to the chiming majesty of The Chameleons it's an empowering listen. The pathos and irony of the glorious track 'The World Doesn't Need Another Band' sets out the band's store, it's a measured and quietly outspoken rant at lacklustre opposition peppered with a gorgeous guitar break. Meanwhile, 'I Only Ever Wanted To See You Fail' rumbles with an Eddie And The Hot Rods pre-punk riff before dissolving into a tale of self-doubt and remorse, bemoaning others' good luck. 'Toxic Friend' is from the book of the TVP's Daniel Treacey with an upbeat chorus that smacks of all that was good in old school indie in a hail of fuzzy logic and guitars. From humble beginnings as a home recording project, The Reds, Pinks and Purples has blossomed into a sporadic live unit with tours on both sides of the Atlantic and appearances at Pitchfork Fest London and Woodsist Fest as well as support slots for indie legends such as Destroyer, Guided By Voices, and The Feelies. "Donaldson's best work hides allure within a bigger picture, like a jangle-pop egg hunt" Pitchfork.

This is the second release that DJ Diplomat made all the way back in the early 90’s. His first release was repressed by Vinyl Fanatiks in 2019. This second repress we are doing for him was originally recorded in 1993 and engineered by Secret Squirrel AKA Hellfish who went on to create the Deathchant label in 1997, a label which Diplomat also recorded for. He was also responsible for the mega mixes on the Street Sounds electro series when it was relaunched in the noughties.

Enthused by the support his first repress received Will Diplomat decided to get back into the studio and start making fresh hardcore that sounded like it was made back in the day for the Vinyl Fanatiks sister label Amen Brother. His first release sold out many moons ago but his collab with former partner in the old 1993 hardcore group NARC (DJ Beagle) under the name Diplomat & Beagle is still in stock via Sequence.

tracks of the moment. Not only: it represents the beginning of the annual series of compilations signed
EGO, as a tradition for ten years. Again this year, at the Miami Winter Music Conference, we have
selected several tracks that will count down with you, accompanying you to the start of one of the most
anticipated EDM events of the year. The MMW brings together thousands of professionals and
enthusiasts who will participate in a series of events in Miami, concluding with the iconic “Ultra Music
Festival”.

The selection presented this year reflects current musical trends. Established names like TR3NACRIA,
Cecilia Krull and Tommy Vee with the talented emerging Defreeze, Bohemoon and just a boy, the great
returns of Sapienza, Solarys and Bacon Popper. The energy of Berin, the good vibes of Roberto Tropea
and the euphoric productions of Ema Feud and B-Rain. The ensemble takes place through the extended
version braid that creates a collection usable by both EDM fans and professionals: DJs and producers.

Strike Up The Band is Little Feat's triumph return to rock n roll with plenty of swampy southern soul with Bill Payne (keys/vocals0, Scott Sharrard (guitar/vocals), Tony Leone (drums/vocals), Fred Tackett (guitar), Kenny Gradney (bass), and Sam Clayton (percussion/vocals). It's their first album of new material in over 13 years with songs written by Payne and Tacket as well as Feat's newest members Sharrrard and Leone. The album was produced by the multi Grammy Award winner, Vance Powell (Phish, Chris Stapleton, Jack White) and Bill Payne. The song "Bluegrass Pines" features speacial guest Molly Tuttle and Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams, and was written by Payne and the Grateful Dead lyricst Robert Hunter, and the title track features Larkin Poe on guest vocals.

We are back with another chapter in our ongoing series of unearthing smooth vibes from all over the world, this time we go back to the FUTURE for you with: THE SUNSET MANIFESTO Volume 2. After a five year break mainly concentrating on the late 70s/early 80s Westcoast Soul/Yacht/AOR sound, we finally dive deep into the modern world of our beloved sister-label Too Slow To Disco NEO (for the third time after 2018s TSTD NEO - En France and 2020s The Sunset Manifesto excursions). But of course it wasn't a real 5 year break since the first Sunset Manifesto compilation, as in the meantime we also released a few digital TSTD Neo singles, and - more importantly - our "Too Slow To Disco NEO - FM" playlist on spotify (handcurated by Dj Supermarkt every week and now hosting more than 1500 tracks of mellow, modern sunshine vibes) was growing steadily and becoming a new, important fixpoint in the TSTD musical universe. TSTD NEO is the outlet Dj Supermarkt is using to unearth modern laidback, smooth, sunny slow disco vibes with a soulful Westcoast/Balearic touch. For him TSTD always has been about a laidback vibe/feeling, not a certain time period in musical history. And that sunny Westcoast vibe we dug out on those traditional TSTD compilations has become a huge influence to so many modern artists. So it makes sense that we present the cream of new slo/mo NuDisco/Sunset Disco/Daytime Disco acts in the TSTD format, a luxurious compilation, with artists from all across the globe: Not only from the two homelands of that modern slow disco sound, Los Angeles/California and France, but also from Beijing, Montreal, Mexico, London, New York, Stockholm, Rotterdam… the moon, you name it! It’s been a mere two months since Gaz released his first EP after coming back from a debilitating addiction to Greggs sausage rolls. Despite this long road of recovery, he has kept himself out of trouble and returned to furnish us with four more slabs of Steak Baked Garage Bakes!
Gary Loves Garage is a track of such pure Garage that if you knew how to take a m7/9 chord and pitch it about a bit you would be in the same ballpark. A lot of the Deep Garage Dads from his area Whatsapp Gary and on occasion, sit outside his house desperate for the library of m7/9 pad samples which Gaz has lovingly built up over many years on multiple Zip Disks. Of course, Gary would never share these m7/9’s as they form the backbone of his productions and if they got into the wrong hands there would be implications.

Gary gets a rare trip to NYC on Gary Visits NYC (BA Premium Economy). As the name suggests, Gaz splashed out on a British Airways Premium Economy ticket from Heathrow Terminal 5C but unfortunately Gaz got hammered in the Wetherspoons and didn’t realise that a 5C departure meant you had to get on the underground rail connection. He missed his flight.

Gary’s SP1200 - still a bone of contention for Gary with the lack of funds in his current life meaning an SP1200 is way out of reach. He has multiple ex-wives and various children which prove a drain on the monthly finances.

Finally -Gary’s Pad Patterns could be a paean to the aforementioned Zip disc, one of Gaz’s favourites! Zip disc 4 of 8. This has his best m7/9 chord samples on it and actually has not left the Zip reader since 1999 - apart from that one time when Gaz had to change the SCSI cable.

Jukebox Disco Divas makes a fine entry into the world of wax with this first too-classic-to-fail edit offering. Dialling it back to ’97, Lustral - a project from UK based duo Ricky Simmonds and Steve Jones, who also were responsible for other acts such as The Space Brothers, Chakra, Essence, Force Majeure, Ascension and many others, unleashed a future anthem ‘Everytime’. An ethereal breaks/house gem, the original version has euphoria written all over it, not least for those beautiful vocals from singer / songwriter Tracy Lee Ackerman. During the years the track got remixed a number of times, by people such as Nalin & Kane, Way Out West, Timo Maas, Red Jerry, Mike Koglin amongst others.

On this reissue you’re served the classic, unforgettable remixes from Nalin & Kane and Red Jerry alongside an incredible new drum and bass rework from Electron C.

Originally released on Shoebox in 1993, this wonderfully pink piece of vibrant vinyl comes with two hardcore/proto-jungle bangers made by SDR & Subsonic who also own Shoebox. They are also the artists behind the Digital Pressure release on A Guy Called Gerald’s label Juicebox (keep it locked to Vinyl Fanatiks in 2024 for this one).

This release has been sought after for a good number of years with the usual high-ticket price on Discogs. But now the opportunity is here to grab a copy at a fraction of the price with some saying it is also a better sounding release compared to the original pressing.

Ma Ze Music welcomes back the quality pairing of UV & Nenor for a new selection of original cuts that were recorded between the Middle East and Scandinavia. Between them they have plenty of styles in their arsenal and here combine them with bold analogue synths, percussion with a tribal twist and some special guest collaborations. 'Arayot' is a real bass odyssey with spaced-out melodies and marimbas alongside Ophir "Kutiman" Kutiel's drums. 'Tanim' brings some moody and psychedelic voodoo funk with hard-hitting drums, edgy clavinets and a magnificent synth lead by Romano, while the icing on the cake is a superb flute solo by Shlomi Alon. Emotional tension and groove come together perfectly here on what might be UV & Nenor's best yet.

Disco don The Rephlex is back with a couple of signature reworks, and this time it is two giants of the disco world that are in the spotlight. First up, disco innovator Patrice Rushen's 'Time Will Tell' gets flipped into a paced, seductive disco sound with tambourines and big horns, funky drums and a nice falsetto vocal all getting you going. A true embodiment of Brazilian Boogie, this is the first official reissue of Brylho's album, founded in Rio de Janeiro in 1978 as Brylho da Cidade. The group was influenced by the Black Rio movement of Tim Maia, Cassiano, and others. Members included Arnaldo Brandão (vocals/bass), Paulo Roquette (guitar), Cláudio Zoli (guitar/vocals), Robério Rafael (drums), Bolão (percussion), and Ricardo Cristaldi (keyboard). Claudio Zoli stands out as an important funk artist of the 1980s, during a time when Pop Rock bands dominated the Brazilian music scene. This album features one of the biggest hits of 1983: the soulful reggae groove "Noite do Prazer." Often described as Rio de Janeiro's answer to George Benson's "Give Me the Night," it's a timeless classic that bridges funk, soul, and Brazilian grooves. On "Se Você For a Salvador," a sun-soaked, feel-good boogie track, younger generations have embraced a new term to describe the sound: Brazilian City Pop. The record also delivers dancefloor heat like the stomping "Jóia Rara," the vibrant soul-reggae fusion "Destrava Maria," the ahead-of-its- time rap-funk hybrid "Cheque Sem Fundo," and the electrifying samba-reggae "Pé de Guerra," rich with Bahian rhythms and energy. Closing out the album are two under-the-radar jazz-funk gems: "Meditando" and "171." Though often lumped into the boogie category, these tracks lean more toward the sleek 1980s jazz-funk sound, reminiscent of UK acts like Level 42.

Dimple Discs is pleased to announce its first release from the legend that is Jah Wobble. It is a completely solo work with Wobble writing playing and arranging. Lee Perry and King Tubby are deep influences with astounding top layer sonics. Jah Wobble, is an English bass guitarist and singer. He became known to a wider audience as the original bass player in Public Image Ltd (PiL) in the late 1970s and early 1980s; he left the band after two albums. Following his departure from PiL, he developed a solo career. In 2012, he reunited with fellow PiL guitarist Keith Levene for Metal Box in Dub and the album Yin & Yang. He continues to tour with a two hour show often presenting "Metal Box In Dub" with former Siouxsie and the Banshees guitar player Jon Klein who Wobble calls the greatest post punk guitarist.

Nach dem explosiven, schnörkellosen, selbstbetitelten Debütalbum aus dem letzten Jahr meldet sich das potente Duo mit ihrem zweiten Album 'Bored Animal' zurück.

Es wurde in weniger als zwei Wochen im Studio von Edwyn Collins in den schottischen Highlands konzipiert und aufgenommen, zusammen mit dem Tontechniker Sean Reed. Abgemischt wurde es von David Wrench (Manic Street Preachers, Let's Eat Grandma, Blur, Baxter Dury). His Lordship entschieden sich, ihren Sound zu straffen: Sie verzichteten auf Harmonien, Rockabilly-Einflüsse und Songs mit einer Länge von mehr als vier Minuten und kümmerten sich nicht darum, die Musik perfekt zu machen.

Das Ergebnis ist ein Album, das eine Vielzahl von Ideen in seine elf prägnanten Songs packt. Und obwohl die Songs von 'Bored Animal' Anleihen beim alten Rock ’n‘ Roll nehmen, ist das Album keineswegs ein Retro-Aufguss oder eine Hommage an die Vergangenheit.

Sie wurden zunächst auf Kassette veröffentlicht und kamen 1982 und 1983 auf Vinyl heraus. Nur wenige Monate nach der Leon Keita-Veröffentlichung präsentiert Analog Africa nun Ousmane Kouyatés zwei funkgetränkte Mandingue-Perlen aus den frühen 1980er Jahren, sorgfältig restauriert, gepresst auf pink gefärbtem 180g-Vinyl und in einer wunderschönen Siebdruckhülle.

This, however, is not a biography; it’s a simple piece of communication to let people know that from Friday 4th July the second pressing of Daniel’s radio sessions recorded for the BBC will released on translucent A project inspired by BBC Radio 6 Music’s Marc Riley, the tracks have been licensed from the BBC and approved by Daniel’s family, management and charity. The sessions were spread across an eight-year period with two sessions for Rob Da Bank and three with Marc Riley (both of whom are executive producers of this album). A few bootleg recordings of these sessions have been available across the years but now they have been lovingly mastered and cut by Frank Arkwright at Abbey Road Studios in London. Daniel was a lifelong fan of The Beatles and the overwhelming consensus from those who knew him was that he would be so proud and excited to have his music mastered above the legendary Studio 2 at Abbey Road. This project’s objective is to celebrate Daniel’s musical legacy, rather than explore further his well-documented mental health problems.

LA-based producer Real Bad Man and Detroit artist ZelooperZ release their joint album Dear Psilocybin via the pro-ducer’s own Real Bad Man Records. The album marks the duo’s first collaboration, culminating in a full-length project that also features guest appearances from Boldy James, MAVI and a verse from The Alchemist. On Dear Psilocybin, ZelooperZ invokes unconventional production out of Real Bad Man to match his own unpredictable and outlandish delivery, working outside of traditional song structures and existing in a lane of his own. The Detroit multihyphenate, who is an integral part of Danny Brown’s Bruiser Brigadecollective and also an accomplished visual artist, painted the album’s corresponding cover artwork as well.

“I definitely haven’t made anything like this before, it’s a very subtle version of my music as far as tone, ” ZelooperZ explained in a conversation with Real Bad Man for his RBM Radio show. He elaborates on the off-kilter approach to the way he recorded to say, “the album feels like a movie soundtrack for a film about a man losing his mind and getting spurts of memories along the way. ”

Speaking about how the project differs from the rest of his collaborative catalog, RBM says, “It’s trippy and it’s a little different – but the main goal was for it to be authentic to Z and his process. ” That dedication to authenticity rings true across his catalog, drawing back to the foundations of his beginnings as a producer, learning the fundamentals of sampling, experimenting with chords and learning to piece songs together by ear. RBM builds a cohesive production arc around each artist he works with, catered to their strengths as artists, working with a variety of lyrical stylists includ-ing Memphis rapper Lukah, Pink Siifu, Blu, Kool Keith, Elcamino & more.

Real Bad Man is the production moniker of visual artist and designer Adam Jay Weissman. A designer and visual artist first, he made his foray into music through his On High Alert series of imaginative, multi-generational compilations, which have featured the likes of Roc Marciano, ROME STREETZ, Pink Siifu, Maxo and more. In the years since, he’s partnered with some of hip-hop’s most talented and adventurous artists on full-length projects, refining and shaping the trajectory of some of rap’s most exciting independent artists.

The project captures Josh’s signature blend of sharp wit, undeniable Mancunian cadence, and layered references that land harder for those from the North West. It’s the next step for an independent artist who has never signed a record deal yet has amassed millions of streams across tracks like Paul Scholes, Own Ting (featuring Eliza and Jesse James Solomon), and the Skepta-produced, Cigaweed.

This is the first full-length project Josh has released since supporting Danny Brown on tour, an opportunity that saw him sharpen his already unruly stage presence under the mentorship of one of rap’s most unpredictable voices. Garfield (track 8), incorporates a genuine jazz breakdown—an unexpected but fitting evolution from the days of sweaty, beer-stained basement shows that were a rite of passage for a young Black Josh. The production across the tape reflects Josh’s versatility, with tracks produced by Blah mastermind Lee Scott and longtime collaborator Sumgii.

With YSL Bootleg, Black Josh once again proves that his music is on his own terms—crafted with his peers, rooted in Manchester but designed to travel far beyond.

1975 marked the year the American progressive rock band Kansas released two absolute classic albums, Song for America and Masque. Their third album Masque is a forty minutes piece consisting of 8 songs. It’s a concept album based on a mythological theme and well performed by the different band members. Highlights are the fan favourite “Icarus” and the almost 10 minute counting stunning prog epic “The Pinnacle”. The album is an excellent addition to any prog music collection.

Kansas became popular during the 1970s with hits like “Carry On Wayward Son” and “Dust in the Wind”. Besides their well-known ballads they also recorded some impressive progressive pieces.
The diversity of their music and immense energy of the band is one of the reasons why they’re still performing and recording.

Bobby Lyle is a keyboard legend from the fusion period of jazz in the mid to late 1970s. He was the pianist with Young Holt Unlimited and played with Jimi Hendricks, booked to go on the road with him just ahead of the untimely death. In 1974 he moved to Los Angeles and went on the road with Sly & The Family Stone, and then through dates with Ronnie Laws he met ex-Crusader Wayne Henderson who took him to Capitol Records where this, the first of three iconic albums was released in 1977. Bobby also became Wayne’s keyboard player of choice on his solo albums and productions through the remainder of the 70s and early 80s, contributing to the ‘At Home Production’ sound which defines these albums. “The Genie” was rediscovered in the ‘rare groove’ period of the 80s and is from which Bobby gets his nickname for the lightning pace and magic of his playing. This album is ultimate jazz funk from a period that gave us artists like Lonnie Liston Smith, Joe Sample and Bob James. Bobby still tours to this day with artists like George Benson and Anita Baker.

Ende der Achtziger hatte sich Thrash Metal auch in Deutschland etabliert und spielte weltweit sogar eine führende Rolle. Bereits zu dieser Zeit war es einigen Bands nicht mehr genug, einfach nur schnell und aggressiv zu spielen. Der Thrash Metal wurde in vielen Fällen anspruchsvoller und technischer. In den USA trieben das Watchtower auf die Spitze, in Deutschland folgten gleich mehrere Bands auf dem Aaarrg-Records Label (Mekong Delta, Target).
Während andere Acts erst noch straight agierten und dann im Verlauf ihrer Karriere mit progressiven Elementen liebäugelten (Holy Moses, Deathrow, Destruction), schnürten die Hamburger MEGACE schon nach der Bandgründung 1988 ein anspruchsvolles Thrashpaket. Mit der Sängerin Melanie Bock hatte man zudem ein besonderes As im Ärmel, denn sie kann Beides: Das kehlige Thrash-Shouting und melodischen Gesang. Das hob MEGACE direkt von anderen Bands ab, was ihnen direkt eine Chancen bot, die auch genutzt wurden.

Nach einigen Demotapes, die auch von der internationalen Presse gelobt wurden, erhielten sie einen Plattenvertrag bei 1MF Records, das Label des ehemaligen Sänger von Angel Dust und Scanner, S.L. Coe. Im Juli 1991 wurde dann in den Dust Music Studios (Dark Millenium, Torchure, Morbid Jester, Sacrosanct) das Debütalbum „Human Errors“ aufgenommen, welches in der Presse durchweg gelobt wurde und auch heute noch Fans auf der ganzen Welt hat. 2025: Golden Core veröffentlicht die erste (offizielle) Neuauflage dieses Genreklassikers. Die CD-Version enthält die bisher unveröffentlichten Aaarrg Records Demos, die im Studio von Ralph Hubert (Mekong Delta) 1989 aufgenommen wurden. After a massive 2024 that included the release of their second album Vol. 2 and a U.S. tour, Naarm/Melbourne punks Split System are back with new 7" On the Edge/On the Loose.The feeling of stress and anxiety permeates through both tracks. The opener is the sleazy, hardcore-infused On the Edge, featuring a pounding rhythm that mirrors the pressure of day-to-day life and the inevitable breakdown that awaits.Next, the sub-two-minute On the Loose delivers a catchy, high-energy garage-punk thumper about moving through life feeling like you've got a gun to your head. The band will return to Europe mid-year 2025, including a spot at the Best Kept Secret Festival in the Netherlands.

A Split System split 7" release in tandem with French garage-punks Les Lullies - one song apiece. The Australian side features a tough-as-guts Rock & Roll stomper, 'Chemicals'. On the other side Les Lullies deliver A L'Etroit. written and recorded in a burst of urgency - fast, loud and straight to the point. The two bands will hit the road together in June 2025 for a run of high energy gigs across Europe.

Lammping, the genre-defying psych-rock project from Toronto, is set to release four unique albums over the next year, each showcasing the eclectic range of influences and talents of its founders, Mikhail Galkin and Jay Anderson. A collaboration with Montreal's Bloodshot Bill kicks off the series with a psychedelic, sample-driven freak-out that’s as unpredictable as it is fun, blending Lammping’s DIY spirit with Bloodshot Bill’s singular style.

Our Best Album? Out of 26?

That’s not nothing.

What makes it “our best?” Is it the songs? Is it the production? Is it the convergence of those two elements? What if we added “accessibility?” It is, after all, a pop album. You know, very much in the same way that “The Why Album” and “What Sequel?” are. In fact, we very nearly named it “Now What”, viewing it as the final installment in this pop trilogy.

But that started to feel wrong, because: Why get locked into a “series” every time we happen to lean on the more melodic and concise aspect of what we do?

You know, and the thing is, this isn’t any kind of “return.” This is something new. Though it certainly shares DNA with the aforementioned What/Why releases, it also very much incorporates the rock and dissonance and experimentation present in many of our other forays. Maybe this is simply where we landed. Maybe this is what we are now. Maybe we’ve finally found the combination of ingredients that so perfectly synthesize as our aesthetic that there’s no need to go on from here. Maybe we’ve stopped. Maybe we’re done. Maybe we’ve finally found that sweet spot between the “adventurous” and the “palatable,” and we now intend to rest on our laurels.

What an Admission that would be.

Chicago-based composer/producer Joey Meland makes music under the moniker Cocojoey. Treating genre conventions and ostensible barriers between disparate musical vocabularies like playthings to gleefully smash and reshape at will, Meland channels decades of experience as a polymathic professional musician adept in styles like metal, jazz, synthpop, and experimental sound design into their infinitely combinatory compositions. STARS, their first album on Hausu Mountain, follows the self-released COCOJOEY’S WORLD with a spellbinding burst of heart-on-sleeve self-expression. The album finds Cocojoey indulging their most adventurous impulses in production and technical instrumental performance, launching into a constantly morphing program that contrasts day-glo earworm hooks against cathartic moments of screaming intensity. Cocojoey’s music exudes warmth and finger-wagging mischief as it exhumes the depths of their psyche with the pure-hearted goal of making their audience smile — when those listening find a chance to breathe within the ecstatic overstimulation.

US veteran JT Donaldson makes the sort of killer tech house that immediately makes you want to move. This time out the Dallas, Texas resident lands on Dolfin Records with a deeper sound that is raw and heavy. 'Choose' rides on knackered-sounding kick with just deft synth smears for company. 'Don't Sweat' has a double-time rhythm with sombre chords adding the soul and 'Want Her Around' gets the hips swinging with its lovely claps, muted, softly glowing sustained synths and lumpy deep house drums. Flipping the script yet again. 'Sunday Drive' is a more nimble and jazzy dancer and 'Take 2' is a sunny house sound with hints of Metro Area nu-disco synth magic and a big fat bassline.

Texas-based Ben Hixon and Atlanta's Stefan Ringer collide on this new split EP for the increasingly vital Dolfin label. It is Ringer who starts with a tight, grinding groove on 'Moving Walkway' with spoken word snippets and kaleidoscopic synth sequences bringing a trippy and unusual energy to the menacing bass. His 'PLGLY' (SR Big Room mix) is then a heavy beatdown with synths that snap and crack while jazzy percussion and dark vocals bring extra character. Chelou is the moniker of London-based artist Adam Gray, a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer known for his psychedelic blend of folk, blues, and indie electronics. Raised in Camden and influenced by a musically rich environment, Chelou developed a reverb-soaked, dreamlike sound that combines minimal vocals, distorted guitar, ambient textures, and offbeat lyricism. His name, "Chelou," is French slang for "bizarre" or "strange," reflecting his enigmatic and unconventional identity.

He emerged in 2014 with the DIY EP The Quiet, gaining early support from BBC Radio 6 Music DJs like Lauren Laverne and Tom Ravenscroft. Tracks like "Halfway to Nowhere," "Out of Sight," and "Garden" drew attention for their raw, intimate tone and distinctive visual accompaniments. His debut album Out of Sight (2018) expanded his sound and artistic reach, featuring a popular animated video created by Robin Eisenberg.

Cody, the London multi-talent musician and Kapote, the Berlin based creative head of Toy Tonics have a lot in common. After their 2022 LP 'Twelve Hymns To Syng Along', cult songwriter Mark ten Hoor, bass giant Peter Kroes, and drumming king of tape-hiss Arjan Spies - aka THE KRYNG - did what they do best: record more tunes at Studio Teepdek.

Mondo Paradiso is the fifth studio album by Sino Hearts - a record unlike any before it. Mocca Chung, the driving force behind the band, embarked on a journey from Beijing, China. His longtime bandmate, American guitarist Ned Moffit, set out from Washington, D.C., marking nearly two years since he left China. Their reunion in Vienna, Austria, was only a brief stop before they ventured to Brescia, Italy, where they joined forces with Italian drummer Carlo Manzoni. Under the guiding hand of producer Brown Barcella, this album was brought to life.

Since first forming in 2016, London's High Vis have steadily polished their palette of progressive hardcore with shades of post-punk, Brit pop, neo-psychedelia, and even Madchester groove, mapping a middle ground between hooks and fury, melodies and mosh pits. Singer Graham Sayle describes their third album 'Guided Tour' as an axis of competing forces: "It's trying to be a hopeful record, while also being incensed." Rounded out by drummer Edward 'Ski' Harper, guitarists Martin MacNamara and Rob Hammaren, and bassist Jack Muncaster, the band's deep roots in the UK and Irish DIY hardcore scenes have kept them grounded but growing, inspired equally by restlessness and righteous anger. Recorded across a few weeks at Holy Mountain Studios in London with producer Jonah Falco and engineer Stanley Gravett, the results feel dynamic and dialed-in, like anthems burned into sense memory through sweat and repetition. Harper cuts to the chase: "We had a clear idea going in, every moment got used. Maybe when we're 60 we can sit around and get a drum sound right, but for now it's about getting things done."The album's 11 songs span the spectrum of contemporary guitar music, sharpened by experience, camaraderie, and societal frustrations. From swaggering street punk ("Drop Me Out," "Mob DLA") to jangling indie sneer ("Worth The Wait," "Deserve It") to heavy alt ("Feeling Bless," "Fill The Gap") to shoegazey spoken word ("Untethered"), the group's chemistry transmutes any style to their unique intensity. Sayle champions this evolving fusion: "For years coming from hardcore, we had pretty clear boundaries - other scenes were separate worlds. Now things are getting more blended, drawing from different places."Nowhere is this sentiment flexed more boldly than on "Mind's A Lie," a dance- punk anthem inspired by Harper's love of house, garage, and pirate radio. Stabs of sampled female vocals (by celebrated South London singer and DJ Ell Murphy) build into a razor wire rhythm of low-slung bass, tense drums, and sparkling guitar before Sayle's staunch voice starts barking harsh truths ("Face to face with all I've known / I can't call these thoughts my own"). After a sudden breakdown, the track regroups and takes off, cruising into the horizon in a haze of chiming guitars and Murphy's ascendant voice, from the streets to somewhere beyond.

Netherlandsbased artist Heckerman delivers four tracks of surrealist and textured techno on 47. Laced with swirling sequences, snarling basslines and jagged motifs, 47046 swells with soaring to more introspective moods, streaked with an idiosyncratic flair. 47046 is out July 4th available
