Planet Rhythm is gearing up for the second effort in their PRRUKBLK series. Both Moerbeck and Fanon Flowers have come up with 2 gritty peak-time anthems made out of heavy drum-action, distortion and hazardous percussion. Moerbeck's A-Side is a ferm combination of granular synthesis and vigorous drums. Where "Black Hand" recalls memories of graveyard shifts in soviet coal mines, the A2 track Mode evokes up a more tripped out state of mind.
Fanon Flowers lays down a more ominous ambiance for his B1 track that has the more than suitable title "Vultures Circling Part 3". Closing down the B side we find "Vultures Circling Part 1" which carries that same threatening vibe but with even more energy due to the use of abundant percussion.

Dutch DJ, producer and Wolfskuil label boss Darko Esser is to self-release his sophomore album, Anipintiros, in April 2014. The eight track album comes four years after his debut and is his first as Tripeo, the techno leaning alias he has been working under most often in recent times.
Working as Tripeo has reinvigorated Esser, who under his own name has been producing his unique take on electronic music for a decade now. 'It was liberating to have another persona take over,' says the man himself. 'I have been so inspired and productive ever since that I woke up one day with the thought 'I'm ready to do another album' and started straight away that day.'
Tripeo music is aimed squarely at the dancefloor, and there sure are some full blooded cuts on the album, but so to are there concessions to the listening experience, meaning deep, dark passages and more leftfield experiments help tie the whole thing together into one cohesive and coherent whole. 'Like all albums, this is a very personal statement,' explains Esser. 'It's just me trying to translate the overwhelming inspiration I feel right now into sound. That, and making the record as diverse as possible without losing the purist identity of Tripeo.'
That identity shines through right from the off on the album, which has been made using a knowing blend of both soft and hardware. 'Anipintiros #1' is a firmly rooted, rubbery bit of deep techno that works you into hypnosis and comes detailed with plenty of otherworldly ambiances. From there, Tripeo explores gallivanting techno run through with celestial pads on 'Anipintiros #2' and tripped out, ever shape shifting and dusty minimal sounds on 'Anipintiros #3'.
'Anipintiros #4' channels the widescreen and pumping techno of Detroit's finest whilst 'Anipintiros #5' is a more industrial and muscular track of the sorts that would sound perfect in the bowels of Berghain. 'Anipintiros #6' is one of the busier and more kinked techno rhythms with punchy drums and fax machine like melodies, before 'Anipintiros #7' thumps with real menace and 'Anipintiros #8' hums and hisses, spits and stutters like the suitably epic and melodic comedown you need after such a captivating ride.Everything, though is backed with serene synth work and an otherworldly sense of alien spirit that runs through all great techno.
There is plenty to get lost in throughout Anipintiros and it proves once again that Esser is someone able to coax far more feeling out of his machines than most.

Darshan Jesrani's new project Funn City continues to break open the notion of modern vs. retro and challenges the listener to categorize what is found inside. Extending the experiment in modern disco without re-treading already explored ground, Funn City offers a playful and rebellious approach to the recombination of old and new. Funn City sticks lightly to the fusion of live and electronic instruments, and heavily to its varied influences from rock and r&b to house and techno, yet casts them in a delirious, neon-lit sheen. 'All-Night People,' the project's first offering, is a relentlessly-upbeat, vivid, saturated trip of a maxi-single inspired by that liminal area of late-70s dance music which existed between shitty, bluesy rock, new wave and disco. Otherworldly, gurgling synths surf atop truncated, slashing guitar and thick, pattering congas. Taut synth sequences spar with sinewy lead lines and trashy vocals, bound together by a precise, modern sensibility, enticing you to waste your time inside a glorious, pinball machine dream. The dub on Side B works most of the same features but empties out the arrangement and infuses the mix with a bubbling, techno-inspired sequence and phaser-licked synth to create a new, more streamlined groove for the track-oriented dancefloor and style of play. Startree is proud to present this first release as a mission-statement in musical form and an indicator of things to come.
D-Edge are proud to present "Black Belt", the stunning debut from one of Brazil's most important figures.
D-Edge Records are proud to present Black Belt, the debut
album from Brazilian DJ, producer, club and label boss Renato
Ratier. After emerging with some already impressive EPs, the
time has now come for a full artistic statement that spans 17
tracks of slo mo electronics, deep house ambiance and tripped
out, disco inflected grooves.
Rather than this being a collection of dancefloor tracks, its
more a carefully programmed journey that takes you up and
down through many different moods and grooves, but all of
them untied by Ratier's analogue textures, unfamiliar hooks
and futuristic melodies.
Opening with the found sound recordings and muffled ambiance
of 'Love Me Tokyo' the album goes through the funky licks of
'Jamaicanese', the well-sampled 'Midnight Sun' and freewheel-
ing deep house and ethereal melodies of 'Teatime'. The latter
half of the album points more towards the dancefloor with the
title track's knotted bassline, the deep and spaced out house
hypnosis of 'Fetisshu' and plenty more besides. It's a stunning
debut from one of Brazil's most important figures.
Containing 4 highly refined techno transmissions, da003 is possibly the finest release yet from Dark Darts. No mean feat considering the first two have received widespread support from heavyweights such as DVS1, nd_baumecker (Ostgut Ton), Mr C and Nick Dunton (Surface).
'North from here' is a startling mission statement - jacking drum manipulation slowly becoming engulfed by a hypnotic, reverb-soaked lead line and razor-sharp percussion - killer techno for underground spaces.
'From The Sky' is a deadly space-house jacker. The metallic, rolling groove is dense, but make no mistake, there is a real lightness of touch here provided by galactic sweeps and shards of melody. This will spread the message to the darkest recesses of the warehouse.
From the farthest corner of the stratosphere comes 'Fragile' - weightless dub pressure is under-pinned by a huge, intricate technoid stepper. Droplets of digitized melody complete a unique, widescreen track - driving but as deep as you like.
'String Theory' is a gripping tracky burner. The strings grab you immediately before the rugged sub-bass-led groove takes over, completing an EP that simply demands your attention. A label going from strength to strength. All tracks by S Crosbie.
This release is an homage to IDM, Intelligent Dance Music, a movement perhaps much better than it's name, but still the place of Aphex Twin and Autechre.
Myrakaru was the most famous IDM project in the Baltic States as Tallinn, Estonia duo Indrek Tamm and Joel Tammik. Their production was beautiful and timely in 2000, after which they disbanded and disappeared.
This is crate diggers IDM now updated with Deep, Balearic, and Main Floor remixes from Tigerskin (Dub Taylor), Filipsson & Lindblad (Sasse), Pan-Pot, and Escape Art.
The Descent of Man EP is the third and last part of a trilogy on vinyl dedicated to Charles Darwin studies. This final chapter is focused on the darkest side of electronic music and his impact on human psychology. As Charles Darwin studied the evolution of physical and mental traits, we want to show how obscure, trembling and aggressive sounds generate an increasing sense of agitation and loss while mild and gloomy atmospheres can relieve the body and brain, achieving a peaceful state of mind.
Don't be afraid to move into a shady space. This is not the end even if it could be.
Walton returns with a strictly-limited EP to precede the release of his debut album 'Beyond'. This is a vinyl-only, once it's gone it's gone kind of release, just 300 copies available. 'Baby' is a brilliant and extreme mutation based around an R&B accapella, one that seems energised by R&B's avant-garde but danceable late '90s period. A hiccuping giggle over stuttering rusty engine stabs, and a so-stiff-it's-funky kick and and snare combination, make this a track that works brilliantly on the dance floor by sheer force of ideas and wildness. 'Can't You See's' widescreen ambience is held together by epic swelling chords, punctuated with rolling 8-bit spirals, trap-like bass, and snares. It's held together so tightly, it feels like it's going to 'drop' at any time, but prefers to just tease the listener in a state of excited suspense. Also included is an instrumental version of 'Baby'.
Neon Neon (Gruff Rhys & Boom Bip) present their new album, Praxis Makes Perfect, the follow up to 2008's Mercury Music Prize nominated Stainless Style.
Praxis Makes Perfect is a musical biopic of Italian Publisher, Giangiacomo Feltrinelli's colourful life viewed through the lens of Gruff Rhys' highly original sound writing and Boom Bip's shimmering synth-heavy production.
Guests on this album include two previous Neon Neon co-conspirators in Josh Klinghoffer of Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Cardiff's Cate Le Bon, plus Italian pop sensation Sabrina Salerno and actress Asia Argento.
1. Praxis Makes Perfect 2. The Jaguar 3.Dr. Zhivago 4. Hoops with Fidel 5. Hammer & Sickle 6. Shopping (I Like To) 7. Mid Century Modern Nightmare 8. The Leopard 9.Listen to the Rainbow 10. Ciao Feltrinelli.
BONUS CD (With CDX version) 1. Years of Lead 2. Fuga in Avanti 3. Socalism at Sea (Take in the sails, head into the wind) 4. Non Aligned States.
Away from the hypnotic mayhem of the floating roofscapes, we see fractured images cycling faster.
Just as clouds follow the wind, airy soundscapes track the low-end groundwork with grainy artifacts bursting in amongst the thick.
Lost in this surrounding ambience, the B side carves its way with a resonant materiality where shattering hi-hats pull you out of a hypnotic semi-dormant state.
(B2) enters a sound voyage, an intimate balance between gloomy atmospheres, dark sirens and repeated upcoming unidentified melodies, that play against the ceaseless motion of the hi-hat motive.
Flying Lotus has scheduled the release of 'Until The Quiet Comes', the long awaited follow-up to 2010's Cosmogramma and his third on Warp Records, for a worldwide release on October 1st.
Composed, according to Flying Lotus, as 'a collage of mystical states, dreams, sleep and lullabies', Until the Quiet Comes has the distinct feel of this nocturnal trip. From the twitching descent into a subconscious state and the out-of-focus time-ether of the journey that follows, the sound is an unhinged, yet elegant evolution of the melodic and rhythmic interplay that is woven into the DNA of Flying Lotus' aural personae.

SLEEP D's BACON EP is the next offering from Sydney's excellent DEATH STROBE imprint
SLEEP D are a couple of young cats from Melbourne, the production duo are sure to be an integral part of the deep house explosion coming from their city, spearheaded by the likes of Tornado Wallace, Fantastic Man and the Melbourne Deepcast crew.
The record has a range of flavours all tied together by a fundamental warmth and soulfulness.
The title track flows and floats in a dreamlike state, whilst simultaneously nailing the groove from beat one.
Bubbles vs The Cat takes it up a notch, entering the club realm with rich bass and tight rhythms.
Their remix of Chet Faker's Love & Feeling is certain to give any dance floor a collective orgasm, oozing an erotic strangeness as it heaves and thrusts away, while Ischa has a tickle of Techno thrown into the mix and, despite its druggy sedation, has a hidden energy for dancing feet.

The Modal Lounge LP will bring you to a dreamlike state, it's smooth, jazzy drum and bass definetely not for the masses. Leisure System, the collective, label and famed Berghain club night of four years standing, is back with their third release from co-founder and resident, Sam Barker. Known for its genre-defiant lineups, Leisure System's quarterly residency has consistently brought together artists with varying styles. Flying Lotus, Autechre, Afrika Hitech, Jackmaster, Surgeon, Jimmy Edgar, Blawan, 808 State, Dopplereffekt, Clark, Machinedrum, Surgeon, Venetian Snares, Objekt and Egyptian Lover have all graced the decks, showing off the collective's commitment to the exploration of new and experimental sounds in EDM. The development of the label, and now this release from Barker, is no exception. After discovering computers and raves in the late '90s, Barker began making tracks at age 13, building up a sizable collection of vintage analogue synths, paving the way for his future solo work and collaborations with artists like Tim Exile, Clark, Shitmat, Scotch Egg, The Field, Leafcutter John and Jimmy Edgar. Shortly after his 2007 move to Berlin, Barker began collaborating with fellow Berghain resident nd_baumecker, resulting in their ongoing project Barker & Baumecker. Their first EP 'Candyflip', was released on Ostgut Ton in 2010, followed up by a live show tour throughout Europe. The duo is currently readying their second EP and have a long player due out in August 2012. For this new solo EP, mastered by electronic music legend Pole, Barker presents a creative three-track lesson in diversity and highlights Leisure System's ever-evolving aural curiosity. The opener and title track 'Like An Animal' is a number that builds and builds, quickly changing course and mutating into a percussive and texturized melting pot of sounds. Up next the hypnotic 'I Feel', which is filled with moody pads and syncopated breakbeat rhythms, paving the way for the mechanical, yet smooth half-step rhythm of 'Hot Lover'. Siimilar to the collective, this offering pushes boundaries and mirrors the progressive ideals of the collective. Just like Leisure System's first two 12's from Pixelord and Eprom in 2011, Barker's 'Like An Animal' EP is a clear statement of the label's simple and distinct commitment : to be a platform for timeless, thrilling and soulful dance music in the fields of house, techno and electronica, disregarding media hype and genre borders. In keeping with this clear sonic manifesto, Leisure System's design aesthetic is equally individual, with all vinyl releases housed in deluxe die-cut jackets.
It's no secret that Kompakt pioneers Wolfgang Voigt and Jörg Burger have
maintained a long and steady friendship outside the studio. It's even
detectable if you give a critical listen to their collaborative sound, where
almost like magic, the distinct musical swagger of each artist synchronises
completely with the other. There's Wolfgang Voigt, a confirmed radical, a
stalwart, analytical, mindbombing sensualist who famously transformed
Techno into a state of matter and lifted the Art Brut club canvas. His
material spans from Mike Ink and Gas to Protest or Kafkatrax, and within
this contrast-rich portfolio, each new oeuvre transports the serial anarchy
which is the artist's trademark.
Oh Holy Molar is the second album from UK trio Felix. The group produces a bewitching, minimal chamber pop that works as the perfect framework for singer/songwriter Lucinda Chua's oblique and emotionally immediate stories of superstition and searching for protection against bad omens.
*As a follow up to their debut You Are The One I Pick, the band return with a collection of songs with a sound stripped back to its very core. Something is said to have "teeth" when it has the ability to make an impact. This record certainly has "teeth", and sharp ones at that.
*" The album was recorded in a vast, spooky 1940s cinema in Nottingham, England, now converted into a studio. After recording was completed the band discovered that underneath the live room lay an abandoned Dental Laboratory. "Oh Holy Molar" indeed.
*" Since the release of the rst Felix album, pianist/vocalist Lucinda Chua, also an accomplished photographer, has been working on a number of projects, most recently with Wallpaper* in Detroit. Guitarist Chris Summerlin has been recording and touring with his new band Kogumaza. The group is completed with the recent addition of drummer Neil Turpin who, when not performing with Felix, can also be found touring the world with French composer Yann Tiersen.
press quotes for You Are the One I Pick
'It's a gateway into another headspace, one aglow with uncertain magic. As statements of romantic intent go, 'Death To Everyone But Us' must represent either the most straightforward, honest distillation of the love song, or the creepiest.' BBC
'In Felix's world, everyday mundanities give rise to furtive explorations of human interaction and ineptitude in a manner as oppressive as it is oddly and honestly addictive.' Drowned in Sound
'The duo keep things refreshingly simple, with single strands of piano, guitar, and cello in quiet symmetry, leaving the listener ample room to savor Felix's knotty, enigmatic songcraft.' Pitchfork
'There is mystery and elegance in the marrow of this music, and I imagine this record will prove to stand the test of time, reserved to be pulled out for the perfect accompaniment to just the right brooding but whimsical mood.' Delusions of Adequacy

1.The Bells 2. Sunday Night 3. Oh Thee 73 4. Don't Look Back (It's Too Sad) 5. Hate Song 6.Oh Holy Molar 7. Blessing Part I 8. Blessing Part II 9. Rites 10. Who Will Pity the Poor Fool 11. Pretty Girls 12. Practising Magic 13. Little Biscuit
A new label offering from the ever active vaults of Mr. Sascha Müller is the new imprint named Psychocandies which is setting things straight for an Acid-poisoned future with cat.no. 001 which is a marbled, limited to 200 copies 7" pressing holding Sascha Müllers "Tempelrotation (Edit)" and Acidfloors "Goja 3" on the flip. Whilst the first mentioned tune is on a grinding, distorted MonoAcid tip clearly influenced by long gone labels like Labworks or Propulsion 285 we see Acidfloor working on a mind bending fusion of dry ElectroPhonk and a tweeking 303 that is about to make all breakers twist their legs and the rest of the crew jump around like mad. If you love alltime classics like "Higher State Of Consciousness" you'll surely appreciate this little tune as well. Watch out for more candy!
Peter Clamat returns with two downgraded state- of-the-art Slowhouse rollers straight from South- West Germany. The A-side with "Future" and "Dispatch" shows once again the great development of Peter's sound into more and more deepness and originality. Slow, dope and shuffling like hell.

The new album will be released across a series of 4 limited edition 12" vinyls. This is the 2nd 12 inch From Tronic Jazz The Berlin Sessions. A Guy Called Gerald has spent the last couple of years flitting through shadows, turning up on labels like Perlon, Beatstreet and Sender like a peripatetic prophet of the Berlin underground, seeding the scene with cryptic singles that return to the past to suggest alternate futures. Now he returns to Berlin's Laboratory Instinct label with the follow-up to 2006's Proto Acid: The Berlin Sessions, the album that re-established Gerald as an acid hero and techno auteur. Tronic Jazz: The Berlin Sessions builds upon the foundation established by its predecessor to create an even more powerful statement of intent, one that communicates more persuasively than ever Gerald's vision for techno in its third decade of existence. One immediate difference stands out, this time around. Where Proto Acid offered a seamless mix of 24 cuts, recorded in one epic session, Tronic Jazz collects 13 standalone tracks. That's welcome news to DJs. After so many years of digital anything-goes, you might have forgotten the kind of sounds that are possible with "old" machines: the way a lead stacked against tuned percussion and shrouded in pads can evoke still other sounds, hidden in the mix, or maybe not really there at all. It's a ghostly, suggestive presence, a kind of evocation of infinite possibility within the context of a limited set of inputs. In that sense, Tronic Jazz follows a certain minimalist impulse, but it's far too lush ever to be mistaken for the dread "mnml" of recent years. This stuff is wide-eyed and full of life. When it funks, it funks hard, and when it smoothes out, it can be as intimate as a hand-written note left on a lover's pillow. As "class ic" as Tronic Jazz may be, the album refutes any notion that "class ic" equals "retro," that the ideas have all been expressed before. Tronic Jazz takes the foundations of house and techno as though they were a kind of language, and speaks volumes with them.
Techhead Toolbox 003 features the creative wizardry of the United State's techno soldier and MHR-HRD label boss Roman Zawodny, alongside remixes from powerhouses Virgil Enzinger, Sinisa Tamamovic, and John Karagiannis and PayLipService.
Soda Gong presents “Support Surfaces,” the new record by Alexi Baris, a musician hailing from Vancouver, British Columbia. Baris’ methods are patient and deceptively rigorous, trading in sonics that are at once organized and organic. Synthetic and acoustic elements are presented in sonorous states of perpetual flux, carefully amalgamated into structures of fertile ambiguity. His is a diligent and painterly approach to sound design and arrangement, in which tiny events are magnified and brought up close, and expansive gestures are repurposed and shifted in scale. There is an abiding quality to these compositions, sounds that have been hung in the air with remarkable restraint and left to float there, defined by texture, tone, and their own entrancing spatiality.
All music by Alexi Baris.
Mastered by Kassian Troyer at D&M.
