Dark Entries helps Suzanne Ciani come out of the closet as Steve! Legendary composer, sound designer, and Buchla maestra Suzanne Ciani has a staggering list of accolades and accomplishments, from scoring Hollywood films to releasing influential new age records to literally designing the Coca-Cola bottle-opening sound. In the late 70s/early 80s, Ciani, while living in New York, acquired an Eventide H 949 harmonizer, which offered high fidelity pitch-shifting. In her words, “When I adjusted the pitch of my voice to 0.80, my natural voice became re-invented as what was clearly a gay man, who I called Steve. I became Steve; and Steve expressed himself as only he could.” Ciani adopted the male persona and collaborated with Peter Baumann of Tangerine Dream on “Steve Goes to a Party.” The track features Ciani-as-Steve adlibbing in decadent and delirious fashion alongside Baumann’s robotically funky beats. Steve would emerge again a few years later at George Louvis’s Stardust Studios in New Jersey, to create “Steve Saves the World,” an absurdist and ecstatic proto-house groover complete with a gospel-esque chorus from the Stardust All-Stars. This EP is rounded out by a birthday wish to Ciani’s then-boyfriend Alfred on “Steve Happy Birthday Wishes” featuring Suzanne. Steve’s Out of the Closet perfectly captures the delirious techno-poptimism of the 1980s downtown avant-garde, with parallels in Robert Ashley’s Perfect Lives or Lynn Goldsmith’s project Will Powers, responsible for the track “Adventures in Success.” The Steve sleeve was designed by Eloise Shir-Juen Leigh, and the record also includes a birthday card with liner notes from Ciani.

The fourth instalment on Daniel Poli's, Suspect Package released in 2002 produced
by Leonora Epremian aka Autonomy. A three-track EP with soulful techno-inspired
textures and rolling, UK groove. The A side features a collaborative project between
Leonora and Daniel Poli.

With “Heat Motel,” Eternal Love join forces with Caravan for a collaborative single landing on Palms Trax’s own imprint, CWPT. The pairing brings together two distinct voices from the current underground: Eternal Love’s Italo-rooted, globally minded production and Caravan’s balearic, acid-tinged sensibility, meeting on a double-sided single built squarely for the dancefloor. The track was written and recorded together in Sydney this past December, the two producers locking into a shared studio session that set the tone for the record. The collaboration follows Eternal Love’s breakout with Ritmomento, their debut EP on Music From Memory’s Second Circle imprint. “Heat Motel” carries that same instinct for rhythm and atmosphere into new territory, filtered through Caravan’s own dancefloor-focused, Afrodisco-informed lens: a house-driven cut built around insistent vocals and a rolling low end, engineered for peak time. Side B hands the reins to Caravan for a solo remix, stretching the original out into trippier, sunrise-session territory — a wilder, more expressive take built for the after-hours crowd.

For the occasion, the Tonbridge-based electronic quartet offers us a hazy, hypnotic slice of early-'90s UK underground house / techno hybrids, balancing a steady dance-floor pulse with dub-inflected spaciousness and a psychedelic, almost otherworldly atmosphere. Its appeal lies in the tension between rhythm and abstraction: music that remains grounded in the physical language while reaching toward something more trance-inducing, elusive, and introspective.

Marking ELSI’s 10th release, iconic Italian DJ Beppe Loda lands on the imprint with “Universal Waves”. This vinyl-only release is accompanied by a thundering remix from Trent.

Charged with his signature analogue heat and unrelenting low end, Beppe Loda’s Original version delivers on all fronts. Produced in Switzerland back in 2015, “Universal Waves” further refines Loda’s pioneering space disco sound. Acid flutters throughout and dissonant arps hold the grip. Culminating in euphoric pads and esoteric arpeggiators, the cut fits seamlessly into his revered catalogue.

ELSI affiliate and prolific purveyor of sounds Trent joins the bill with his proto-infused remix on the B-side. Leaning further into the original's murkier realms, the fellow Italian keeps the energy driving. Fluent in the nuance of the dancefloor, Trent carves out a version that celebrates his gift for sustaining that darker glow.

About the many collaborations between Marco Bellini and Alberto Bertapelle, this is probably the oddest and rarest. Built on a Minimoog bassline that evoked the sound and image of someone eating corn on the cob (that’s where the project’s name came from), the track evolves over a head-nodding breakbeat while a modified TB-303 intervenes with a sick, filtered bassline.

Marco Bellini was in Venezia and went to the studio the day after. With the instruments still plugged in, the samplers loaded, and the levels already set, it felt natural to immediately record a second version arranged by him.

The two tracks were assembled and recorded in one night in 1996 at Madhouse Studio in Mestre (set up in Alberto Bertapelle’s attic), with the help of studio engineers Sandro Viola and Carlo Natale.

The record was released in 1996 and pressed on a 10" vinyl.

Chlamydia Dell'Arte Records returns with its second EP: three versions of Abajour's Just A Tease. On the A-side, the Fatale Mix takes the track on an ambient percussive trip. On the B-side, Rock The Mix rides a dark house kick, and the Acid Mix closes the record as a stripped-back and spacious techno version.

The last chapter of Sunju Hargun's solo album for Siamese Twins carries the rite past its signature sounds and into a wider spectrum of psyched-out dub: an excavation of lost Siamese kingdoms, where old world chants and ceremonial percussion are re-imagined through circuitry. Built on the label's founding belief that the deepest trips are taken in company, "Doi Wao" holds the whole of the A side and appears in two forms. The stretched-out Zen Version meanders through jungle hills covered with foggy temple ruins at dawn. Its answer, made with Dazion, clears the fog with a 4x4 percussive head-trip at full throttle, gaining momentum. The B side opens with "Mok," a polyrhythmic half-timer that grooves and floats on jungle rhythms. "The Seven Spires" follows with head-on psychedelic waves, seven towers of a sonic city. "Crossing Salween," with Tokyo-based Haruka, takes its name from the river cutting through the wider Golden Triangle. Like the river, the track is the final passage: a dub stream that breaks down borders. Two sides, one act of personal world-building. A kingdom mapped in sound, pointing back to Siam and forward past it.

The saxophone, thunderous as a peal of lightning, burns the listener’s body and shakes the soul. Out Of Chaos captures a new frontier reached by Kosuke Mine beyond the depths of chaos.

Having attracted widespread attention through his work with the Masafumi Kikuchi Group and the consecutive release of three albums under his own name in 1970, Kosuke Mine was one of the most talked-about figures in Japanese jazz. Following the breakup of the Kikuchi Group, he released the masterpiece Daguri in 1973, followed by the recording of Out Of Chaos.

From the hard-driving Recollection to the beautiful ballad Little Abi, Mine’s playing—said to have been influenced by John Coltrane during this period—displays both sharp inspiration and a grand sense of scale, blowing with a power that seems to break through every barrier.

Backing him is the trio that helped propel Mine to the center of the jazz scene. Their performance, completely united and burning with intensity, is nothing short of breath-taking.

Idealism Forever is the reissue of Digitalism's genre defining debut studio album from 2007. After the 2024 release of the limited remastered 3 LP set which is sold out completely, this new version is on 2LPs but still has all bonus tracks from the 2024 release. The analogue master of the album shows the songs in their best outfit and the bonus material, which originally was recorded while making the album back in the days, breath the energy of the original recordings. To date the album tracks have been used in numerous games and commercials. They have been sampled and used in new song interpretations all around the world. The songs have millions of streams over the different platforms and never lost their appeal.

The club friendly b-side offers two versions of „point of no return“. The 2 am version has those old schoolish drums and some blissful sounds and voices, just the way we love it, whereas the 6am version is the more straight forward, catchy early morning groover. Noda is especially interested in deep psychedelic music and this is reflected in his productions. Which are equally suited for late night listening sessions or on bent broken dancefloors.

Scopeotaku is the alter ego of Scott Prentice, a Glasgow, Scotland based artist. Scopeotaku has experimented with audio since purchasing a sampler and a four track cassette deck many many moons ago. His love for left-field dub and eccentric sounds have led him to create a variety of output, from industrial ambient, illbent electronics to mutant dub.

The songs of I Love You Dude have millions of streams over the different platforms and never lost their appeal. Songs like Miami Showdown, Circles or 2 Hearts still belong to the most streamed tracks of Digitalism's catalogue. To date the album tracks have been used in numerous games and commercials. The band just released their highly acclaimed new album Optimism alongside a European tour in November. This 2026 re-issue is the first edition since the album release in 2011. The LP was sold out for years and now it's back limited to 300 copies on sky blue vinyl.

Hard-hitting limited 7” floppy disk by West Coast beat maestro Mophono, mashing up two 8bit mini epics by disrupt and shooting them into outer space.

“Budokan Dub” is the instrumental cut of Roger Robinson’s “Bristol Crystal” from the Jahtarian Dubbers Vol. 6 compilation: a bass heavy mutation of Rob Hubbard’s 1989 fighting game soundtrack, re-worked by disrupt on a DIY commodore synth, with added extra rocket fuel by Mophono, cranking the psychedelics up to eleven.

Made with the same DIY synth, “Proper Tings version” on B is based on the original riddim track for Tikiman’s “Who Goes There”. Mophono now sent it through the cosmic slice machine, turning it into a deadly sound system rattler, designed to take the roof off at those very special moments.

Coming with the additional beat tool “Dub Form Creator” and a nice’n’gritty floppy disc sleeve this crucial little data package is not to be missed!

The first chapter of our 40th Anniversary celebration brought “Love Spy” back to vinyl and invited a new generation of producers to look at Mike Mareen’s 1986 classic from their own perspective.

Part 2 continues the story, but there is no reason to tell the same tale twice.

This time we reach once again into the original 1986 package and bring back the “Salutation Mix”, pairing it with two completely new remixes created by two remarkably colourful personalities from today’s European electronic underground.

And colourful is definitely the right word.

The first comes from Tyrell Corporation.

Behind that name stands Martijn Hoogendijk, better known to most electronic music heads as Alden Tyrell.

For almost three decades, Tyrell has been one of the most distinctive characters of the Dutch electronic scene. His musical world has moved freely between Italo Disco, electro, techno, acid, house and EBM, always with an obvious fascination for machines, analogue synthesis and the raw energy of early electronic dance music.

His relationship with Italo is certainly not a recent fashion. One of his earliest Alden Tyrell releases, “Love Explosion”, appeared on I-F’s Viewlexx label back in 1999, at a time when only a relatively small group of Dutch fanatics were already rediscovering and reinterpreting the forgotten European electronic sounds of the previous decade.

Since the early 2000s he has also been deeply connected with Rotterdam’s legendary Clone Records, not only as a producer and collaborator, but as one of its most important mastering engineers. His fingerprints can be found on an enormous number of Clone releases, including the label’s celebrated work restoring and reissuing the Drexciya catalogue. His studio tells much the same story. Synthesizers, drum machines and hardware collected over decades surround a producer whose fascination with electronic instruments started when he bought his first synthesizer in the 1980s.

For “Love Spy” he appears as Tyrell Corporation and delivers exactly what one might hope for from someone with that history: a remix that understands the original language of Italo and Hi-NRG, but speaks it with the experience of nearly three decades spent inside Dutch electro, techno and machine music.

The second new interpretation comes from France. Bubs, real name Maxime Bunel, followed a very different route.

His earlier productions grew from house, disco and French-touch influences, but over the last few years his attention has increasingly shifted toward Italo Disco, Hi-NRG and the rapidly expanding contemporary italowave scene.

In 2025 he made that commitment official by launching Filter Phaser, his own label dedicated specifically to the new generation of Italo Disco and Hi-NRG. And his “Love Spy” remix shows exactly why his name has been appearing more and more often in this scene. This one is pure dancefloor ammunition.

Bubs keeps the elements that make “Love Spy” instantly recognisable, but raises the temperature considerably. The energy is harder, the dynamics are bigger and the production has been pushed towards the sound of contemporary italowave without sacrificing the melody, drama and personality of Mike Mareen’s original. Old DNA, new blood.

The result is not an attempt to drag “Love Spy” away from 1986. Quite the opposite.

Both remixers clearly understand why the record still works forty years later. They simply approach that DNA from two different generations and two different corners of European electronic music, but with the same respect and adoration to Mike Mareen’s legacy.

The 40th Anniversary Edition Part 2 comes pressed on classic black vinyl and a special ruby-red vinyl edition.

It is also the final Vintage Pleasure Boutique release of 2026.

And somehow it feels like the right record to close the year.

,City Slicker", die erste von zwei Konzept-EPs, erschien im Herbst 2021 nach mehreren erfolgreichen Singles. Bei diesem Projekt ließ sich Cameron Lew vom japanischen City Pop inspirieren, der in den späten 70ern und 80ern beliebt war. Das Hauptkonzept basierte auf folgender Prämisse: Wir schreiben das Jahr 1981, und Ginger Root wird gebeten, den Soundtrack zur amerikanischen Adaption des fiktiven japanischen Films ,Machi No Yatsu" zu komponieren. Vom Künstler: ,Verrückt, dass dieses Ding jetzt schon 5 Jahre alt ist. Wohl die EP, die den Kurs von Ginger Root verändert hat. Konzeptionell, klanglich und karrierebezogen. Wir haben als Dankeschön an euch - JA, EUCH! - die Hörer - einige besondere, bisher unveröffentlichte Versionen aller Songs auf der B-Seite dieser Platte beigefügt! Adrianne Lenkers drittes Soloalbum entstand nach einem zweiwöchigen Roadtrip durch den Südwesten der USA. Gemeinsam mit ihrem langjährigen Freund Luke Temple ging sie anschließend ins Studio, wo die beiden eine Woche lang Musik aufnahmen. Für diese Sammlung wurden die Songs ausgewählt, die im Aufnahmeraum am lebendigsten wirkten. Es handelt sich dabei weder um aussortierte Stücke noch um B-Seiten. 11th 2026, on exclusive crystal clear vinyl, complete with new song “The Ugliest Girl On The Beach” and a new music video for album standout “I got god.” The sound of the album, recorded between Julian’s Bed-Stuy basement and Dan’s Williamsburg studio, is that of a bright and beaming collaboration. Blending lo-fi and hi-fi production, the songs have the glossiness of a radio-friendly hit mixed with the distortion and rough edges of a home demo. Every song keeps at least one element of the initial recording, while building around the loops and half-songs Julian scraped together. The lyrics on the record span from humorous self-aware popisms (“‘you and I’ will soon be, used to be ‘us’”) to crushing realities of bitterness (“i’ll never forgive you, that’s how I keep you close”) and abstract imagery (“mothers wave from doorways, in ostinato”), all delivered with such an immediacy and fervor that in the middle of singing along, you wonder if this guy slept much last night. Much to their surprise, My Heart’s release ushered Victoryland into a whirlwind of a year. Pitchfork praised the album’s “bright, madcap approach reminiscent of the New Pornographers’ Twin Cinema or Clap Your Hands Say Yeah’s Some Loud Thunder.” Stereogum named it their Album of the Week and proclaimed it “a surprisingly cohesive scrapbook of sounds from seemingly every corner of the indie pop umbrella.” The album also received support from Steve Lamacq at BBC 6 Music and Sian Eleri at Radio 1. After a string of sold-out shows in NYC, Victoryland later joined LCD Soundsystem on their North American tour and performed at Pitchfork London, Pitchfork Paris, among other festivals across Europe

On the flip Bo Marley are back with a track previously only released on tape, S.NOVA spreads her haunting vocals over an Alien Trackers depth charge and Slim Levy dubs the Beatles into outer space.

There is more Dub love coming from the newly born Snorks outfit, disrupt appears with a beautiful spaced out hiphop track and Barcelona Dub heroes STA finish the journey with a super hypnotizing brain melter that will see an extended 12” version soon.

Seit nunmehr über zwanzig Jahren als Musikduo zusammen, setzen Hammock ihre bemerkenswerte Reihe klanglicher Entdeckungsreisen mit ,A Moonrise Was the Second Coming" fort. Dieses Projekt, eine Fortsetzung von Hammocks vorherigem Album ,The Second Coming Was a Moonrise", fängt eine Zeit der Entdeckungen ein, als Byrd und ein Freund in seinen späten Teenagerjahren unter dem Einfluss von Psychedelika den Mondaufgang für die Wiederkunft Christi hielten. Marc Byrd von Hammock sagt dazu: ,Manche glauben, dass nach einem Ereignis namens ,Wiederkunft` bestimmte Dinge zurückgelassen und in einen Feuersee geworfen werden. Byrd und Thompson, beide in erster Linie Gitarristen, haben festgestellt, dass ihre musikalische Verbundenheit immer stärker wird, während ihre gemeinsame Arbeit im Laufe der Jahre noch dramatischer und reichhaltiger wird - auf der Suche nach einem Gefühl von mitreißender, schimmernder klanglicher Ehrfurcht, die sich niemals einfach als etwas anderes als sich selbst zusammenfassen lässt. TVPCO has always been a label created by DJs, for DJs. The best proof of this was their sampler series tailored for eclectic sets, where floor-filling dance tracks were consistently contrasted with slower, more atmospheric cuts. Although the catalog gradually expanded to include more listening-oriented music, reissues, and artist albums, the label is returning to its roots for its 16th anniversary.
THE VERY POLISH DANCE VOL. 16 delivers 100% dancefloor bangers from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. The tracklist features gems like "Daj mi", "Serce to jest tancerz", "Zabawa", and "Graj dla nas, graj", along with a stack of delightfully cheesy, slightly cringe-worthy, but undeniable anthems sung in Polish. You'll definitely recognize some from the labels late-night parties (if you ever attended one) or the depths of the internet, while others will be complete surprises.
Both musically and visually, the release pays homage to the iconic Polish compilation tapes that flooded local open-air markets in the 90s, as well as the 80s promotional vinyl sent directly to radio and club DJs.
The brilliant, era-accurate artwork was crafted by the one and only Bartek Szymkiewicz.

Dort nahm sie zehn Songs mit Akustikgitarre auf. "Im Grunde ist es wie ein Live-Solo-Konzert", beschreibt Lenker, "nur mit einer zusätzlichen besonderen Note." Hours Were the Birds erschien 2014. Durchzogen von wunderschönen Bildern und intimen Geschichten ist es das Werk einer Frau auf einer Reise, die mit Mut und Ehrlichkeit neues Terrain erobert.
