Aus der griechischen Black-Metal-Bastion Athen kommen Eleventh Ray mit Klageliedern, die schon seit fast einem Jahrzehnt auf sich warten lassen. Die okkulten Darbietungen in der unheiligen Hülle von Reviving Tehom beschwören den Geist von Celtic Frost, Sodom, den 90er-Jahre-Taten des großen Magus Wampyr Daoloth (Necromantia, Rotting Christ, Thou Art Lord) und natürlich Therions 1993er Symphony Masses: Ho Drakon Ho Megas Album.
Die Saat für Eleventh Ray wurde von Material gesät, das einst für die Black-Metal-Kraft von Serpent Noir geschaffen wurde, deren wechselnde Tonalität Gitarrist Y.K. dazu veranlasste, das besagte Material für einen späteren Zweck zu vergraben. Eine Entscheidung, die erst 2022 durch ein verheerendes Probedemo Früchte trug, das das Interesse von Dark Descent Records weckte.

Ein großartiges Album des baskischen Musikpioniers Fermin Muguruza, ehemals Mitglied der großartigen Bands Negu Gorriak und Kortatu, das ursprünglich im Jahr 2001 erschien.Fermin Muguruza hat auf diesem Album einen Schritt in Richtung der Musik seines guten Freundes Manu Chao gemacht, und das zahlt sich aus mit einem Stil, der den Geschmack von Manus Musik teilt, aber dennoch eigenständig bleibt und Groove, Spannung und vor allem Intelligenz bietet. Reggae/Ragga/Dub und mehr, mit einem fast Ska-artigen Touch. Die Texte sind alle in der historischen baskischen Sprache Euskera, der ältesten in Europa, mit hilfreichen Übersetzungen in Französisch, Englisch und Spanisch. Die Feuilletonisten Tageszeitungen schwadronierten ausgesprochen gern vom "Soundtrack der Globalisierungsgegner", als Manu Chao mit seinem zweiten Solo-Album tourte. Eine bedauerliche Verkürzung der Tatsachen, wie nicht nur Manu Chao selbst immer wieder betonte, der den revolutionären Drive schon Mitte der 90er-Jahre für seine Band Mano Negra und sich erkannte, dass auch der dringlichste Aufruf zur Revolte seine Kraft verliert, wenn man ihn zu oft wiederholt. Eine ganz andere Schule vertritt da der Überzeugungs-Baske und tatsächliche Globalisierungsgegner Fermin Muguruza: Er wird nicht müde, gegen die imperiale Politik der weltweiten Konzerngiganten zu wettern, das Fernsehen als Instrument der Desinformation zu geißeln und an die gewalttätig-militaristischen Seiten der amerikanischen Außenpolitik zu erinnern. Dort wo Manu Chao seine Songs als Klangpostkarten von seinen musikalischen Weltumrundungen verschickt, schreibt Fermin Muguruza herbe Kampfprosa in politischen Pamphleten.

NEKRODEUS wurde 2013 gegründet und begann mit einem Demo irgendwo zwischen Death Metal und Sludgecore. Die Band und ihre Musik haben sich über die Jahre ihrer Bandgeschichte immer weiter entwickelt. Die äußerst kreative Band befindet sich nun auf ihrem aktuellen künstlerischen Höhepunkt und verbindet gekonnt Musikgenres wie Black Metal, HC Punk, Death Metal und Grindcore. “In my category, I’m the one and only,” proclaimed Oakland legend Too $hort on his 1990 single “Short But Funky.” Few disagreed then, and even fewer would do so decades later. First appearing in the mid-1980s, slinging homemade tapes out of his car trunk, the man born Todd Shaw has always stayed true to himself. Although he is known more for the dirty side of his rap game, on “Short But Funky,” he also reminds listeners of an important fact: “There’s a serious side to everything I say.” Short Dog’s In The House, was $hort’s sixth studio album, and his second for the Jive label. By the time it hit, he was a West Coast legend, but his rep was growing Eastwards, as the rest of the country started opening its ears to new sounds. Peaking at #20 on the national Billboard 200 chart, the album was exactly what his dedicated fans expected funky, 70s drenched beats made for cars on the boulevard, and no nonsense lyrics that made more sense and dropped more knowledge than he was ever given credit for. For examples of his conscious side, look no further than the P-Funk fueled “It’s Your Life” or the album’s lead single, “The Ghetto.” The album’s second single “Short But Funky” landed somewhere in the middle of $hort and Todd Shaw, talking about where he was at as the new decade broke, and making it clear that he wasn’t going anywhere. His mortality was mainly on his mind after rumors had surfaced the year before that he had died in a crack house. He speaks directly to this crazy episode on “Dead Or Alive.” And although it’s mostly a solo affair, he brings in some heavy artillery and a lot of not for the kids profanity on “Ain’t Nothin’ But A Word To Me,” featuring none other than Ice Cube In between, $hort distributed plenty of tales and charisma for fans to eat up, continuing to build his legendary status as one of the rap trailblazers of the era. Mr. Scrapper’s Blues ist das zweite Album von Scrapper Blackwell und wurde ursprünglich 1962 auf Bluesville Records veröffentlicht. Die Aufführung, die Yunchan Lims Karriere begründete, über 16 Millionen Aufrufe auf YouTube erreichte und ihn über Nacht zum Weltstar machte.

Im Juni 2022 wurde Yunchan Lim der jüngste Goldmedaillengewinner des Internationalen Van-CliburnKlavierwettbewerbs; seine Darbietungen zeugten von einer „magischen Fähigkeit“ und einer „natürlichen, instinktiven Qualität“ (La Scena), die Zuhörer in aller Welt in Erstaunen versetzte. Die Juryvorsitzende Marin Alsop äußerte sich wie folgt: „Yunchan ist der seltene Künstler, der tiefe Musikalität und erstaunliche Technik organisch miteinander verbindet.“

Sein künstlerisches Können und die Verbindung zu den Zuhörern sicherten ihm auch den Publikumspreis und den Preis für die beste Darbietung eines neuen Werks. Der darauffolgende Aufstieg des jungen Koreaners zu internationalem Ruhm war kometenhaft.

TOTEMIC MODULATIONS, UNEARTHED FROM WIND AND WORDS

“The album Chênes mainly brings together songs. These songs are narratives of scenes that unfold in the forest, or in the city but with animal and plant protagonists. One song also tells the story of a solitary walk in the mountains. They are like zoomed-in snapshots of the world of insects, amphibians, birds, and mammals. They are also celebrations of growing life, and the pleasure and joy it brings.

Composed over the course of about two or three years, it was a deliberate choice to bring them together for this album, even though they were not initially connected to one another. One of them is an exception and is more of a collection of vocalizations and cries without actual words, composed in a language incomprehensible to humans because it is nonverbal.

This collection of imitated chants and sung songs had to be illustrated by the collages of my friend Fen. Even though the stories describe real species and elements, they are indeed imagined tales. Her collages are, too. There’s also the violin that adds a wandering touch to the pieces, and other instruments that shape the environment and setting of these stories. Bells, bird calls, whistles, flutes, jaw harp, harmonica — all imitate more or less imaginary species. Each has its role and its life, down to the horsehair of the bow that rubs the strings of my violin to bring forth the sound.

Dennoch markiert das neunte Album der Band »Crooked Teeth« die Rückkehr zu ihren ursprünglichen – hungrigen – Wurzeln. Aufgenommen wurde das Album mit den aufstrebenden Produzenten Nicholas »RAS« Furlong und Colin Brittain in einem kleinen Studio in North Hollywood. Furlong und Brittain sind mit der Musik von Papa Roach aufgewachsen und haben die Band dazu inspiriert, sich auf einige der Tugenden zu besinnen, die sie an Papa Roach immer besonders gemocht hatten – allen voran die bemerkenswerte Rap-Technik von Frontmann Jacoby Shaddix.

Eleven is a magic number in many cultures, for us maybe it is… or not, anyway our eleventh release is going to be something special with vinyl again as the main format after some only digital releases.

The man in charge of production duties is well known for crafting merciless techno exercises all over the place, RNGD is not a newcomer at all, his roots come from the late nineties and you can somehow feel that into his modern tunes.

These four cuts have a strong link with the classic Birmingham school, Regis,
Downwards, Female, Surgeon… but with a personal and unique twist.

Direct Source is a clear example of what I mentioned before, a few elements are enough to make the funk happen: a solid sequence, proper drums and a hypnotic arrangement.

Same approach on 037, proper neural funk with basic elements administered properly. B side opens with Degradation, again with the same mantra, anabolic, gymnastic and physical.

To close the release Diabólica, providing the mental slice of the pie with the
occasional pad and vocal samples but yet energetic and direct to the floor.

This is the true spirit of techno, don’t be fooled for the new trends. Timeless is the word here.

Deranged Records and Forward! Records will release Wildhoney's first LP, Sleep Through It. The group formed in late 2011, aiming to write pop songs with the energy and malcontent of hardcore punk, but without its entrenched masculinity. The five-piece has since become one of the loudest—and sweetest—bands in its hometown of Baltimore. Sleep Through It expands on two excellent 7-inches and one cassette EP, drawing influences from '60s girl groups, '80s post punk, indie pop, and shoegaze. New songs like first single "Fall In" showcase just how well Wildhoney combines wall-of-sound power with delicate passages and gorgeous vocal melodies. Older songs such as "Super Stupid" and "Seventeen" return on the LP, newly realized and sounding better than ever. Throughout the album, the group's blasts of distortion and use of dense textures are balanced with beautiful pop tunes and chiming guitar work. The swirl of noise surrounding singer Lauren Shusterich's voice is not unlike the best of the Cocteau Twins, or even Deerhunter, especially on the soaring title track. Sleep Through It was recorded at Beat Babies Studio in Woodstock, Md., with Chris Freeland (Lower Dens, Wye Oak). The album is Wildhoney's first with synthesizers and features liberal amp and pedal experimentation. The recording process was intense and fast, cramming lots of work into a small amount of time. That hectic schedule is impossible to hear on the LP, which unravels at its own dreamy pace.

Sought after instrumentals for critically acclaimed album Sour Soul, by Toronto jazz / hip hop band BadBadNotGood and Staten Island rap champ, Ghostface Killah. Inspired by 1960's and 70's music and taking inspiration from the recording techniques and production of that era, they embrace live instrumentation and zero sampling. BadBadNotGood with producer Frank Dukes created a dramatic, cinematic musical staging for Ghostface's vivid storytelling and this is the first and only time the instrumentals will be available as a standalone album.

On the other hand, we are honored to welcome the legendary The Advent, a living icon of pure Techno, who has delivered a track that gives us goosebumps and brings back the essence of his early 2000s sound, the most aggressive and powerful The Advent.

We are honored to celebrate 9 years of work with this 12′ vinyl edition alongside artists we deeply admire, and we hope you love it as much as we do.

Un año más y una nueva edición de nuestra serie en vinilo ANAØH INVITES.

Como es tradición, en este tercer volumen, Dig-It y Fixon, anfitriones del sello, invitan a dos artistas a unirse a ellos para presentar cuatro tracks originales en un vinilo especial de 12″.

Para esta edición contamos con dos artistas a quienes realmente queremos y respetamos. Por un lado, hasta hace unos meses, el misterioso BLK_BETTY, un artista de pocas apariciones pero sin duda un productor potente y visionario, un verdadero representante de ese sonido jacking lleno de energía.

Por el otro, nos honra dar la bienvenida a la leyenda The Advent, un ícono vivo del Techno en su forma más pura, quien nos entrega un track que pone la piel de gallina y revive la esencia de su sonido de inicios de los 2000s: el Advent más agresivo y poderoso.

Die limitierte Vinyl-Veröffentlichung des Albums „Love Songs“ von Elton John ist am 2. September endlich wieder als Vinyl erhältlich.

Das Album, welches 1993 ursprünglich veröffentlicht wurde, knüpft an den enormen Erfolg von „The Very Best Of“ und an seine erste britische Solo-Nr.1, „Sacrifice“, im Jahr 1990 an. „Love Songs“ enthält
18 von Eltons beliebtesten Balladen und erreichte Platz 4 der britischen Charts und hielt sich 48 Wochen
lang in den Charts.

Das Album ist als 2LP und auf 180g Vinyl erhältlich.

Nils Frahm hält sein Versprechen aus dem letzten Jahr und veröffentlicht eine weiteres Piano-Album nach Day. Night, das fünf neue Tracks enthält zudem als CD-Version Night & Day, die alle elf Stücke von Day und Night vereint. Die Stücke auf Night nahm Frahm auf dem Klavins M450 auf - einem einzigartigen Klavier, das in seinem Studio im Berliner Funkhaus steht. Gebaut wurde es vom deutsch-lettischen Klavierbauer David Klavins für den ersten Piano Day im Jahr 2015 - ein von Frahm initiierter Feiertag, der in diesem März bereits zum zehnten Mal mit Konzerten und Aktionen rund um den Globus begangen wird. Mit 4,5 Metern Höhe und über einer Tonne Gewicht war es damals das größte aufrecht stehende Klavier der Welt. Das neue Album erinnert daran, dass Nils Frahm zwar längst für seine komplex arrangierten, multiinstrumentalen Werke bekannt ist, aber seinen Ruf ursprünglich mit ebenso meditativen Klavierkompositionen auf Alben wie The Bells (2009), Felt (2011) und Screws (2012) begründete. Wie schon Day zeigt auch Night, dass Frahm ein Meister der subtilen Schönheit bleibt - mit Stücken voller Zärtlichkeit, Eleganz und einer prägnanten Ausdruckskraft, die lange nachklingt.

Die 1997 gegründeten Hard Oi!/Streetpunker Non Servium aus Madrid präsentieren eine komplett remasterte Best-Of in Form der neuen Vinyl-Compilation "Street Songs Since 1997", veröffentlicht auf Loikaemiess Fettfleck Records. Die aktuelle Besetzung der Band besteht aus Sänger Carlos und Gitarrist Snoker plus Ivi Bass, Gordo Gitarre und Niño Drums, wobei Carlos und Snoker während der gesamten Bandkarriere und auf allen Alben die Kernmitglieder waren. Der Sound von Non Servium ist Oi! oder "Brutal Oi!" mit Einflüssen aus Punk, Street Punk und deutlich Hardcore Punk. Ihre schnellen Schlagzeugrhythmen und starken Bass- und Gitarrenlinien sind ein charakteristisches Merkmal. Ihre Texte sind meist politisch verortet, obwohl auch Songs über Punk-, Skinhead- und Hooligan-Kultur dabei sind. Sie sind neben Bands wie Kaos Urbano und Núcleo Terco die größten Spanisch-singenden Vertreter von Oi! mit einem explizit antifaschistischen/antirassischtischen Haltung. Die Band hat bisher sieben richtige Studioalben veröffentlicht, wobei ein leichter Stilunterschied zwischen dem Debütalbum und den nachfolgenden Alben festzustellen ist, die sich durch einen kraftvolleren, dem Hardcore näheren Sound auszeichnen. Vor vier Jahren wurde eine ,Greatest Hits" auf CD veröffentlicht, aber diese neue Zusammenstellung ist nur auf Vinyl erhältlich, hat eine andere Tracklist und alle Titel wurden neu gemastert. Black Truffle is pleased to announce the release of Ichida, the first release from the duo of two important yet often underappreciated musicians, Eiko Ishibashi and Darin Gray. Ishibashi is a singer-songwriter, keyboardist, drummer, and multi-instrumentalist, known in Japan both for her own elaborately conceptual solo albums and for her frequent collaborations with figures such as Jim O'Rourke, Merzbow, and Phew. Darin Gray is a bassist and multi-instrumentalist known for a multitude of collaborations (with O'Rourke and Loren Connors, among many others), for On Fillmore, his cinematic post-exotica project with Glenn Kotche, and as one half of Chikamorachi with Chris Corsano, one of the finest free-jazz rhythm sections around. Presenting the entirely of a live set performed at Tokyo's Super Deluxe in March 2013, the set begins as a duet for Ishibashi's flute and Gray's upright bass. Calmly melodic yet harmonically inventive, with shades of 'spiritual jazz', the pair's acoustic ruminations are gradually joined by Ishibashi's lush electronics, which randomly flicker between chords in a manner recalling the classic work of David Behrman. As the electronics build into a gloomy fog of slowly cycling loops, Gray lays his bass aside and turns to making strangely mournful interjections on a mouthpiece. Eventually Ishibashi moves to the piano, enveloping the audience in rippling pools of sustained, octave-doubled melody, provided by Gray's bass with a fluid and dynamic foundation. For much of the second side, both Ishibashi and Gray turn to electronics, ultimately arriving in a bizarre space of melancholic arpeggios and random sputter and sizzle, oddly reminiscent of 70s outsider prog acts like Wapassou. An uneasy coda of rich piano chords ends the set. Captured in warm room ambience and beautifully mixed by Jim O'Rourke, Ichida is a rare combination of improvisational acumen and emotional directness, both adventurous and immediately accessible.

Once again, Pye Corner Audio delivers innovative soundscapes, drawing inspiration from ambient techno, cinematic electronica, and experimental slow disco.

The third installment unveils a constellation of entirely new tracks, weaving the ambient, synthwave, and retro-futuristic textures that define Jenkins' work. Meanwhile, Where Things Are Hollow 4 amplifies this narrative, incorporating reinterpretations by some of today’s most visionary artists: Alessandro Cortini, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Lord Of The Isles, and Surgeons Girl, alongside the popular 2020 John Talabot remix of "Resist".

As with previous entries, the visual identity of Where Things Are Hollow: No Tomorrow is a striking collaboration between Basora Studio and renowned illustrator Alex Trochut, offering a visual counterpart to the series' otherworldly audio.

Bob The Egoist presents his first solo EP released via Wide Awake; Felipe Gordon's own record label. This three-song EP features a broad pallet of Bob's musical abilities, beginning with A1 "Fever", co-written with his close Berklee friend and collaborator Bedo. This track kicks-off the EP with chord-heavy grooves and simple, yet effective vocals. It follows up with "New Beginnings", an emotive tune which showcases the intricacies of the songwriter approach to house music: meaningful lyrics and heavy grooves.The EP ends with "Ride Club" a jazzy dance floor tune which features heavy use of cymbals and scat vocals, this is a must-have release for every deep jazz head out there!

Best Record thus creates ''the triplet'' of the Italo-Disco operas made by the immense musician from Bologna, who used various nicknames at that time - as the trend of the main Italian arrangers - feeling 'a certain shame' in making commercial pieces, songs that were danced in the discos. He hid under dozens of pseudonyms (Adal-Scandy, Azoto, Bulldog Lama, Sandon, Super Band....) ''Magic'' and ''Precious Lies'' kept hidden, almost buried for over 40 years (but with many followers abroad) now shine their own light! Indeed. "Kindred spirits and loyal soldiers on the frontlines of the dub war Detroit's 2Lanes and Los Angeles' Cromie link up to present to the world, Destiny Cloud. With a project name inspired by a mystical vacant storefront in Cromie's neighborhood of Altadena (still standing after the fires, bless), the guys formed like a storm after being intro'd by a notorious LA promoter and hotboy producer matchmaker. Funnily enough, the first session was foiled by a missing cable, so it wasn't until the sexy summer of 2023 that the cloud seeds that went on to become Sun Phase/Moon Phase were planted. From the jump, their vision was lucid and their objective collective: lock in at the stu(s) to make the most jiggy, psychedelic, tripped out club shit they could muster. Fast forward to today, Destiny Cloud is proud to bring you the latest missive on 2Lanes' Auto Shop imprint.

On the A side, Sun Phase sets it off with searing stabs from the hands of session killer Ji Hoon on a heavenly Jupiter-8 (sorry not sorry, the real thing does sound better) before a bassline straight off the Adriatic's Argonaughty comes in to funk up the flow over a bed swung hi-hats and drum circle conga lines the Wickedest west coast house heads can appreciate (no hippy shit, but we ARE on Hipp-E's dick). A keep-it-simple-stupid *muah' organ line plays nice with a gang of embellishments to take this one through its duration (Joey pressed record and said "ooh-wah" into the vocoder; no lie, I was there). With his Toxic Love remix, NYC upstart DJ John Brooklyn injects the tune with the highest grade octane to up the revs. The aforementioned organ becomes a timeless trance lead, and new pipes are inserted reminding us all that house music is forever.

Day turns to night on the B Side with Moon Phase, where booming kicks let you know off the rip that this is some real deal late night trunk funk. We're talking dualities here y'all; Cromie's deep-as-the-Pacific bassline meets Joey's frozen-lake-cold Detroit stabs as the drums speak in tongues with those on the other side of the slab. Reverb ghosts and rhythmic acid have this one veering more psychedelic without losing the jiggy factor, while diving proggy synths will have the Global Underground saying, "yea this is our shit, for real." With a run time that allows for maximum fun time, the ambient outro gives you a kiss on the forehead to put that ass to sleep. The iconic DJ Miss Parker takes the wheel on the remix, taking this one straight down the Tunnel with new-school/true-school Tenaglia-isms that wouldn't sound out of place in 2000, 2005 or 2025.

Like all the work we do, this one's a team effort. Salar Ansari put's his deft touch on the mixdowns and Jack Anderson blesses the center of both sides of the disc. Out mid-May, just in time for when things start heating up
