Through the rush of new ideas and cross-pollination that has characterised cutting-edge techno over the past 20-odd years, Sartorelli has travelled as Marco Shuttle from one considered stylistic concept to the next. On his own Eerie label and across expansive releases for respected outposts such as Spazio Disponibile, Incensio and Astral Industries, he's taken an exploratory approach to rhythm and spatial design while always drawing on intentional thematic frameworks, creating distinctive and immersive dance music in the process.

As Samurai Music continues to celebrate the rich seams of inspiration where deep techno and drum & bass intersect, Sartorelli's malleable, mysterious strain of drum work fits right in and sets a captivating tone for the label's operations in 2026. 'Sumud' is a steely drum mantra dealing in fractured patterns with the primal patina of the early Artificial Intelligence era, while 'Las Dunas de Taroa' leans on gently pulsing melancholia undulating at a half-time pace. 'Iso 50' taps into raw, analogue minimalism once more, evoking the sound of Roman Flugel's Ro70 records in their icy, alien formation. Completing the set, we're guided towards the tense electronica of 'Polylayering What I've Got', where uneasy melodic chimes interlock with intricately programmed drum machines.

There's a distinct sense of golden-era, mid-90s electronica coursing through Sumud EP, but Sartorelli shrouds the classic tools at his disposal in his subtle signature atmospherics, pushing towards a plain of expression that transcends time.

Auf seinem neuen Album "Chopin Orbit" eröffnet Piano-Shootingstar Hayato Sumino einen ganz eigenen musikalisch Kosmos rund um den berühmten Komponisten Auf dem konzeptionell vielfältigen und emotional bewegenden Album, stellt der weltweit gefeierte japanische Pianist und Komponist Hayato Sumino (alias "Cateen") die Musik von Frédéric Chopin in den Mittelpunkt und baut seinen ganzen eigenen musikalischen Kosmos darum auf. Frédéric Chopin, der zu Hayato Suminos Lieblingskomponisten gehört, ist seit Langem eine treibende Kraft in dessen künstlerischen Leben. Diese Verbindung wurde erstmals während seiner vielbeachteten Auftritte beim Internationalen Chopin-Wettbewerb 2021 deutlich und kommt nun in "Chopin Orbit" voll zur Geltung. Zum Programm gehören Chopins Polonaise-Fantasie op. 61, Nocturne Nr. 20 in cis-Moll, Berceuse Des-Dur op. 57 und das "Regentropfen"-Prélude op. 28 Nr. 15. Daneben stellt Hayato Sumino eigene Werke wie "White Keys" und "Post Rain", als auch Stücke von so unterschiedlichen Komponisten wie Thomas Adès, Leopold Godowsky und Leoš Janáček, die Chopins Einfluss über Generationen hinweg unterstreichen. Hayato Sumino erklärt dazu: "Für mich war Chopin schon immer wie ein Idol, und seine Musik liegt mir seit meiner Kindheit sehr am Herzen. Als ich mich als Musiker weiterentwickelte, wurde mir bewusst, wie natürlich sein Einfluss in meine eigenen Kompositionen einfloss. Irgendwann dachte ich mir: Warum nicht ein Album mit Chopin als Mittelpunkt aufnehmen? Dieser Moment war der Ausgangspunkt für dieses Projekt. Meine Stücke entstanden aus der Inspiration durch Chopins Werke. Manchmal zitiere ich ein Motiv oder verwende eine Melodie, aber ich habe nie einfach versucht, 'im Stil von Chopin' zu komponieren. When percussionist, pianist and vibe player Ricardo Marrero recorded the ultra-rare Latin jazz meets funk LP “A Taste” in 1976, little did he know that decades later that sealed copies of the original album would exchange hands among collectors for thousands of dollars. A veteran of the New York salsa and Latin jazz scene since the mid-1970s, Marrero has worked with luminaries such as The Fania All-Stars, Pete “El Conde” Rodriguez, The 5 Stairsteps, Dave Valentin, Angela Bofill and most recently - Ruben Blades. Full of up-tempo funky gems and sizzling slow burners, “A Taste” also includes Marrero’s crossover hit “Babalonia” that received quite a bit of airplay in the mid-1970s. Originally pressed in a very limited quantity on Don King and Lloyd Price’s TSG Records, and with little or no promotion, “A Taste” nevertheless pushed the boundaries of New York City salsa forward and has subsequently become one of the rarest, sought after and expensive records the vinyl world has ever seen. Suffice it to say that the music on this obscure jewel is priceless, featuring some of the greatest players of the era, directed by the great maestro Marrero on keyboards, percussion, vibraphone and vocals with the legendary Dave Valentin (flute, percussion, coro), Ralphy De Jesus (bongos, percussion, quinto), Erasto Bernard (congas), Tito Marrero (drums, timbales, percussion), George Oldziey (flugelhorn, trumpet), Nancy O’Neil (lead vocals, coro), John “Figgy” Figueroa (tenor saxophone, soprano saxophone, baritone saxophone), Sean Mahony (trombone) and John Dearth (trumpet). "Graze the Bell" ist eine Sammlung von bewegenden, faszinierenden Solo-Klavierstücken und das bisher reinste Werk von David Moore. Bekannt für seine atmosphärischen Kompositionen mit Bing & Ruth sowie seine Zusammenarbeit mit dem Gitarristen Steve Gunn und Cowboy Sadness, ist dies Moores erstes weit verbreitetes Solo-Klavieralbum. Wie das Albumcover - ein Foto, das Moore von Hand bestickt hat - abstrahiert die Musik persönliche Erfahrungen zu transzendenten Eindrücken. Moore nutzt sein Klavier, um meditativ die Conditio Humana zu erforschen, und macht "Graze the Bell" zu einem Zufluchtsort des Klangs. Im Laufe ihrer zahlreichen Veröffentlichungen haben Bing & Ruth häufig ihre Form und ihren Sound verändert, sich zu einer fünfzehnköpfigen Gruppe entwickelt und sind schließlich zu einer Trio-Konfiguration gelangt. Ihr jüngstes Album ,Species" stellte Moores Farfisa-Spiel in den Vordergrund, während eine nachfolgende EP mit dem gleichen Namen seine Solointerpretationen des Albums enthielt. Dieser lange Prozess der Destillation konzentrierte sich stets auf Moores Kompositionen für das Klavier und sein Verständnis davon. Nach zwei Jahrzehnten gefeierter Ensemblearbeit ist das Erscheinen von ,Graze the Bell" ein Moment, in dem sich der Kreis schließt, eine Heimkehr - nicht einfach zu einem Ort oder einer Zeit, sondern zu einem leuchtenden Zentrum, das beides übersteigt. Einige der Stücke auf ,Graze the Bell" waren ursprünglich für ein Album von Bing & Ruth geplant, wurden aber schließlich als Soloprojekt neu konzipiert. Moore nutzte nur das Klavier und versuchte, die bewährten Methoden, die er im Laufe der Jahre entwickelt hatte, weiter auszubauen. ,Ich möchte mich weiterentwickeln", sagt er, ,und dogmatische Denkweisen hinterfragen." Er öffnete sich aktiv für Experimente und suchte nach einer tieferen Präsenz in seinem Spiel, wobei er seine Beziehung zum Klavier und zum Leben neu bewertete. Moores Musik basiert zwar auf komponierten Noten und schöpft aus Lebenserfahrungen, doch die Quelle seiner Inspiration bleibt eher unbeschreiblich. Indem er Letzteres bewusst pflegte, entwickelte er eine natürliche Fähigkeit, sich in einen tranceähnlichen Zustand zu versetzen. Moore kann sich mit dieser Absicht hinsetzen und ist ,innerhalb weniger Sekunden" ,vollkommen dort". Von der ersten bis zur letzten Note basiert das Album auf dem atemberaubenden Klang eines ,bestialischen" Steinway Model D aus Hamburg von 1987. Dies hängt zum Teil mit seinem subtilen Spielstil zusammen, der manchmal an Stille grenzt. Moores anmutige Herangehensweise gibt dem Klang Raum und offenbart Nuancen des Klaviers, die viele Spieler gewöhnlich ignorieren würden. Solche Nuancen wurden während der Aufnahmen des Albums im renommierten Oktaven Audio in Mt. Vernon, New York, gepflegt. Der Klang des Steinway-Flügels des Studios wurde unter der Produktionsleitung des Grammy-Gewinners Ben Kane mit Unterstützung von Owen Mulholland lebhaft eingefangen. Um Moores experimentellen Ansatz zu unterstreichen, setzten sie Pitch-Correcting-Software kreativ ein, um die verschiedenen Register des Klangprofils des Klaviers zu orchestrieren. Der Ausdruck ,graze the bell" (die Glocke streifen) kam Moore vor Jahren aus heiterem Himmel in den Sinn. Er fand ihn poetisch und blieb ihm im Gedächtnis haften. Moore, der lange Zeit daran geglaubt hatte, dass das Leben eine Reise ist, an deren Ende man etwas erreicht oder ankommt, und dies zunehmend in Frage gestellt hatte, fand zunehmend mehr Sicherheit darin, einfach da zu sein, wo er ist. ,Es gibt keinen Gipfel - und keinen Weg dorthin", schreibt er. ,Nur die Hoffnung, dass wir, wenn wir Glück haben, gelegentlich die Glocke streifen." Und diese Erkenntnis hat er in sein Klavierspiel einfließen lassen. Mit diesem Album hat er sich bewusst dafür entschieden, Eigenheiten, sowohl seine eigenen als auch die des Instruments, voll und ganz anzunehmen. Anmut, subtile Klänge, rohe Gesten und glückliche Zufälle werden hier geschätzt. Die Stickerei auf dem Cover zeigt seine Frau beim Drachensteigen an der Küste von North Carolina. Sie wurde während der Abmischung des Albums über zehn Monate hinweg methodisch mit Kreuzstich gestickt, und viele persönliche Lebensereignisse - traurige und hoffnungsvolle - sind in seine Handwerkskunst eingewoben. Da Moore selbst mit einer bipolaren Störung zu kämpfen hat, dienten sowohl das Album als auch die Stickerei als kathartische Mittel der Meditation für ihn. Moores Klavierspiel enthält eine versteckte Karte persönlicher Erfahrungen, die bezaubernde Wiederholung seiner Melodien navigiert seinen Weg und unseren durch die Skalen des Raums. Moores Musik weckt verborgene Gefühle, erweckt uns und erinnert uns an unser gemeinsames Zentrum. In einer Zeit, in der unsere Menschlichkeit regelmäßig abgelenkt und beeinträchtigt wird, lässt ,Graze the Bell" das Herz erklingen, das wir als unser wahres Zuhause kennen. Die japanische Metalcore-Band Crystal Lake wird ihr neuestes Album "The Weight of Sound" über Century Media Records veröffentlichen. Das Quintett ist seit langem ein bekannter Name in der internationalen Metalcore-Szene. Mit Einflüssen sowohl aus dem Metalcore als auch aus dem Hardcore verschmilzt ihr Sound die Intensität beider Genres zu einem einzigartig schweren und mitreißenden Stil, der besonders bei ihren elektrisierenden Live-Auftritten zum Tragen kommt. Während die Band intensiv auf Tour war, wurde das erste Stück ihres neuesten Albums, "BlüdGod" (feat. Taylor Barber), bereits im Mai 2024 veröffentlicht.

Die aus Japan stammende Band hat sich eine globale Fangemeinde aufgebaut, tourt weltweit und gewinnt durch ihre kraftvolle und energiegeladene Musik an Zugkraft. Das Quintett, das seine Musik in englischer Sprache veröffentlicht, hat es geschafft, sich im Laufe der Jahre eine internationale Fangemeinde aufzubauen und seit 2002 insgesamt 6 Alben zu veröffentlichen.

Ihr neuestes Album, "The Weight of Sound'", ist weniger von bestimmten Aspekten inspiriert als vielmehr eine Reflexion über die Reise der Band und ihre Lebensweise im Laufe ihrer Geschichte, wie Gründer YD erzählt: "Bevor ich es realisiert habe, war Crystal Lake 23 Jahre lang aktiv. Die Leute sagen oft: "Die Zeit vergeht wie im Flug", aber die Wahrheit ist, dass wir eine lange Geschichte mit Freunden, Bandkollegen und anderen Musikern aufgebaut haben, die Blut, Schweiß und unzählige Kämpfe geteilt haben, um diese Band aufzubauen. Das Gefühl von Gemeinschaft und Zusammengehörigkeit spiegelt sich auf dem Album auch in den verschiedenen Beiträgen wider, an denen die Band mitgearbeitet hat - vom Eröffnungstrack "Everback" feat. David Simonich von Signs of The Swarm bis hin zum düsteren, aber verführerischen "Dystopia", bei dem Jesse Leach von Killswitch Engage mitwirkt. Mit "BlüdGod" (feat. Taylor Barber), das ursprünglich im Mai 2024 veröffentlicht wurde, spiegelt das Album eine ziemlich lange Reise und einen langen Entstehungsprozess wider, der das Warten für Fans und neue Hörer gleichermaßen wert war. Frankfurt's legendary producer Roman Flügel returns to Phonica Records with the 'Cooking The Books EP', another four track collection of his idiosyncratic leftfield Techno.

Roman sets the tone of this release with the quirkily foreboding title track 'Cooking The Books', all zippy, skittering percussion and deep pulsing basslines. The sneaky off-kilter melody of 'Sensitive Contacts' continues the dark and sparse feel of the release, while on the flip 'Shameless' provides the EP's dancefloor climax while retaining its bleak, ominous theme. Finally, the clouds disperse and the tension melts away with gorgeous introspective ender 'Flowers'.

Sahib's Jazz Party is an album by saxophonist/flautist Sahib Shihab, recorded live at the Jazzhus Montmartre in Copenhagen, around the same time that he relocated there in 1963. Shihab is joined by flugelhornist Allan Botchinsky, guitarist Ole Molin, drummer Alex Riel, and 17-year old bass prodigy Niels Henning Orsted Pederson. The recordings showcase Sahib's diversity and dexterity as a player, including his openness to the avant-garde style, expanding on the bop era playing he is known for. The audio has been remastered by Dave Gardner and pressed on audiophile-grade vinyl at Pallas Group in Germany.

Edita's fourth vinyl release contains three tracks already released digitally, Stereocalypse's engaging version of Prince's The Future, Freshim's 90s rave reinterpretation of Supertramp's "Goodbye Stranger," and the elegant vision of Kajagoogoo's "Oh to Be Ahh" by maestro Roman Flugel, plus, as a bonus vinyl only, a brilliant Red Axes version of "Locomia," the band of the same name that hit Spain in the 80s.

Sitzung, kann nur als pure Magie bezeichnet werden. Eingespielt hat Pletnev das Album an seinem

Die Vinyleinspielung ist noch in zweiter Hinsicht eine echte Sensation: Sie ist die erste rein analoge DGNeuproduktion seit den Achtzigerjahren! Mit speziell angefertigten Sennheiser-Mikrofonen und einer Studer
C37-Röhrenbandmaschine wurde Pletnevs Aufnahme festgehalten und anschließend mit klassischen Schnittund Klebetechniken minimal bearbeitet. Das Ergebnis ist der unverfälschte Klang in seiner vollen, warmen
Musikalität, die dem Original Leben und Tiefe verleiht.
Für die hochauflösende Digitalaufnahme für die CD-Version kam ein Elf-Kanal-Mikrofonaufbau zum Einsatz, welche die feinsten Nuancen und Details authentisch zur Geltung bringt.

Der lettische Pianist Georgijs Osokins widmet sein Debütalbum bei der Deutschen Grammophon dem estnischen Komponisten Arvo Pärt. „For Arvo” ist eine Hommage an die baltische Klavierkultur und die
zeitlose Musik des Komponisten anlässlich dessen 90. Geburtstags am 11. September 2025.
Neben Originalwerken für Klavier enthält das Album Osokins eigene Transkriptionen zentraler Pärt-Kompositionen
wie „Fratres”, „Pari intervallo” und „Fragile e conciliante, die das Vertrauen in Osokins’ musikalische Integrität und seine tiefe Auseinandersetzung mit Pärts Werk unterstreicht.
Osokins erforscht mit dem Programm die „verborgenen Beziehungen zwischen den verschiedenen Stücken
in Pärts Klavierwerk“ und spannt so den Bogen von Pärts frühen Kompositionen bis zu seinem charakteristischen Tintinnabuli-Stil. „Ich wollte genau den Moment kompositorischer Erkenntnis einfangen –
von komplexer zeitgenössischer Avantgarde bis hin zu reiner, leuchtender und rätselhafter Schönheit und
Schlichtheit”, erklärt Osokins. Eingespielt wurden die Werke auf einem über 100 Jahre alten blauen
Steinway-Flügel, dessen obertonreicher Klang dem Album eine unverwechselbare Atmosphäre verleiht.

Atsuko Hatano is a contemporay classical Viola player who works with electronics to add textures and layers to her sound. Located in Tokyo, Japan, she is a commanding instrumentalist and composer who constructs innovative compositions with strings and layered electronics.
Cells #5 is an orchestral collection and sequel to her previous album Cells #2 which will also be released on cassette via Imprec’s Cassauna label. Cells #5 required three years to complete and the work features the artist’s signature methodology where the instrumental performances are gradually enveloped by multiple layers of a string orchestration.
When not playing solo Atsuko is extremely active recording, collaborating and playing live with Jim O’ Rourke, Eiko Ishibashi, Mocky, Midori Hirano and many more acts.

Free Universe follows up their highly acclaimed debut release with Impromptu Adventure, a three-track collaborative EP between Brooklyn-based label founder Gee Dee and one of the leading names in German electronic music, Roman Flügel.

The three-track EP, recorded in Brooklyn over the course of three days, perfectly captures the duo’s unique, evolving, and boundary-pushing style. “Trip Or Trap” opens with a punchy, psychedelic groove that immediately pulls listeners into the jour- ney. “Cosmetics” lifts the energy even higher with playful piano flourishes and an acidic bass line that’s a surefire crowd-pleas-er. Trailblazing outlet for forward-thinking Danish Jazz, April Records proudly presents the debut from trumpeter/composer Rolf Thofte; a vivid and personal record that blends lyrical melodies, inventive rhythms, and subtle harmonic exploration. Written while Thofte adjusted to fatherhood - the album captures moments of joy, reflection, and experimentation, brought to life by a handpicked quintet of Denmark"s most exciting young jazz talents. Martha"s Dance is set for release on September 19th, 2025 via April Records. The title track is a tribute to Thofte"s three-year-old daughter - a playful, clapping, goat-hoof-stomping tune in quirky 5/4 that channels the spirit of childhood joy and spontaneity. "It"s just a fun tune to play, and I feel like it really captures Martha"s spirit," says Thofte. "This band came together at a time when I was trying to get a foothold in a new life situation as a father, so it felt perfect to make this the title track." Released in 1989 by the noted audiophile label Chesky Records, Portraits is a testament to the prodigious talent of the legendary trumpeter, flugelhornist, and jazz educator Clark Terry.

The first of four albums for the Chesky label, Portraits was recorded when the St. Louis-born hornblower, then 68 years old, was a much-venerated jazz elder. By then, he had 35 albums under his belt and boasted a resume that included stellar collaborations with Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, Quincy Jones, and Dizzy Gillespie.

For Portraits, produced by David Chesky, Terry assembled a quartet comprising pianist Don Friedman, bassist Victor Gaskin, and drummer Lewis Nash. With Terry alternating between flugelhorn and muted trumpet while also showing off his chops as an occasional vocalist, the quartet breezes through a blend of familiar jazz standards, like 'Pennies From Heaven,' and Terry's hard-driving original tune, 'Finger Filibuster,' where he shows off his athletic scat singing.
