Alex Barbu – Paths Lead Inward marks Alex Barbu’s first release on Bosconi Records, following previous releases on Digital Finesse and Maeteria. Across four tracks, Paths Lead Inward explores the space between minimal, techno, deep house and psychedelic trance, combining stripped-back structures with hypnotic rhythms, dubby textures and subtle traces of Goa-inspired psychedelia.
The EP opens with A1. “Tokyo”, a straight-to-the-point dancefloor missile. A rolling bassline, delayed voices and a simple but highly effective rhythmic structure push the track towards trance territory, with hints of Goa psychedelia filtered through a minimal sensibility. Immediate, hypnotic and built to keep the floor moving.
A2. “2006” takes a darker and deeper turn. A dubbed-out minimal techno cut populated by subterranean sounds, blurred textures and distant voices. Its slow-burning atmosphere makes it particularly suited to the deeper, more intense moments of an afterhours set.
On the flip, B1. “Hello Everybody” brings a heavier deep-house pulse into the equation. Hypnotic arpeggios, deep vocal elements and a rolling groove give the track a physical, almost stomping quality, while maintaining the murky and psychedelic character running throughout the EP.
Closing the record, B2. “Blobfish” dives deepest of all. A heavy bassline anchors a strange and unsettling landscape of anxious breathing, dark textures and disorienting sounds. Hypnotic rather than aggressive, it gradually pulls the listener into an upside-down dimension — a proper late-night trip for losing yourself on the dancefloor.

Acclaimed Hungarian, Berlin-based producer, composer and pianist Àbáse (AKA Szabolcs Bognár) returns, sharing a special, 5 anniversary remaster of his breakthrough project 'Laroyê'. Releasing on Friday 1 May via Bridge The Gap & Oshu Records, this sensitive exploration of Afro-Brazilian culture originally began as an audio diary, documenting Szabolcs’ travels and collaborations in Brazil through a collection of voice memos, fragmented beats, sketches and field recordings. As his journey progressed, and his collaborations and research deepened, the music project started to take on its own life:

"Laroyê evolved through weeks and months of research and collaborations into the album that it is now. That means that all the sessions were done in different apartments, small studios, often with borrowed equipment, which all adds to the character, but makes the creation of a coherent sound a challenge. Benjamin Tierney, Erik Breuer and Analogue Foundation did an incredible job with the mixes and with this new remaster. I truly believe that we are able to hear the tracks in a new light, with even more depth and clarity."

Coming from the West African Yoruban language, Àbáse stands for "collaboration" – a key element of the music perfectly encapsulated on 'Laroyê'. Recorded in Rio de Janeiro and Salvador, Àbáse spent five months working with diverse artists, from young talents to veterans of the Brazilian scene including Letieres Leite, Luciane Dom, Dofono d'Omolu, Afrojazz and more. The album explores the rich heritage of afro-brasilian culture through samba, MPB and Candomblé, mixing these with broken beat, hip hop and afrobeat, creating a contemporary homage to the classic Brazilian sound. Szabolcs shares:

"Despite already leading and managing musical projects that are close to my hearth, I always felt that one day I would like to start a solo project, where I could take full responsibility for the artistic direction and the music would reflect a truly personal vision. In 2017, I decided to take five months to fulfil a childhood dream and travel to Brazil to expand my creative horizon and expose myself to new influences."

An album standout is the bass-heavy, afro-brazilian ‘Agangatolú, which Àbáse describes as "best exemplifying the story and concept of Laroye as a collaborative effort - a research project exploring the rich heritage of Afro Brazilian culture through my own lens." The track features singers and percussion players Jadson Xabla and Gabriel Santana - two artists based out of one of the oldest terreiros (houses of worship) in Bahia, whilst drummer Jorge Dubman is an integral part of one of the most famous afrobeat bands from Salvador IFA. The contributions of one of Szabolcsoldest collaborators - Hungarian flautist Fanni Zahar - also made the track a full-circle moment.

On a quest for cosmic grooves of unity, Àbáses music pulls from an eclectic blend of global reference points, including modal jazz, Hungarian folk, West African, Brazilian, hiphop and underground electronic music. His work has drawn widespread critical acclaim from the likes of MOJO, Songlines, Soulection and The Guardian, and been supported by key tastemakers including Gilles Peterson, Jamz Supernova and BAMBII. As a keyboard player, Szabolcs has also collaborated with the likes of Wayne Snow, Dele Sosimi, Patti Smith, Emmanuel Wilkins, Gulty Simpson and Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange.

Ribe & Roll Dann serve up potent techno on Mutual Rytm with 'Virtus Occulta'.

Built around concepts of unacknowledged work and enduring merit, the release marks their first EP on SHDW's widely
respected label.

Based in Toledo and Madrid, Ribe & Roll Dann are exciting residents at Laster Madrid and Lanna Club, two of Spain's leading venues. Emerging as driving forces in their national techno scene, they have also made an impact on the global landscape, making wider moves through collaborative releases on Klockworks, and individual outings on a number of other influential labels. Having previously featured in the label's Federation of Rytm IV compilation, the pair make their full EP label on SHDW's Mutual Rytm imprint to open March with a deep dive into their expansive sound.

Opener 'Sub Terra' is a pure club tool that is direct, physical and rooted in the underground with a seriously heavy low end. 'Extra Lumen' is more restrained but still built on a steady, forceful rhythm with controlled energy that prefers to operate in the shadows. 'Ars Non Placens' stays true to the idea that music is not made to please, but to exist on its own terms with hunched drums and dubby undercurrents. Next, 'Meritum Negatum' fizzes with static electrical charge and minimal drum funk and is a direct reflection on overlooked skill and unacknowledged work, before closer 'Virtus Persistens' delivers a continuity and a steady pulse rather than an explosive ending, keeping you locked throughout.

In addition, three digital bonus cuts come alongside the vinyl package. 'Labor Inauditus' speaks to hours of technique, production and booth experience that remain invisible. Next come the taught, rubbery rhythms and unrelenting atmosphere of 'Silentium Testium', while 'Sine Aplausu' - which means without applause - brings a ghostly late night vibe that you will never want to end.

Casabianca returns with Omatucada, the second vinyl release from Zagreb-based DJ and producer MIMI.

Omatucada is a journey through percussive sampled rhythms, combining live-recorded instruments, vocal textures, and analog synths across four original productions.

The title track, "Omatucada" opens with a rolling tribal beat and hypnotic vocal fragments, revisiting one of MIMI's earliest productions, originally written many years ago.

"O Lado Negro De Felix" ventures even deeper into dark tribal grooves, suggesting that there is always some light within the darkness, and vice versa.

A landmark of 1970s Turkish psychedelic funk, Zafer Dilek’s Oyun Havaları returns to vinyl 50 years after its original 1976 release on the legendary Yonca Müzik label.

One of the defining figures of the 1970s Turkish studio scene, Zafer Dilek transformed Anatolian melodies through his distinctive microtonal electric guitar and groove-driven arrangements. Across twelve instrumental reinterpretations of regional Turkish melodies, psychedelic guitar, bağlama, heavy bass and tightly locked percussion meet in a sound deeply connected to the golden age of Yeşilçam cinema and embedded in Turkish collective memory.

The album’s influence reaches directly into today’s global Anatolian psychedelic movement: Altın Gün later reinterpreted two tracks from the record, while Khruangbin championed the cult dance-floor cut “Yekte.”

Long sought after by collectors in its scarce original pressing, Oyun Havaları is finally available again as an official archival reissue, restored from the original master tapes, mastered and lacquer cut by Frank Merritt at The Carvery, London, and pressed on 180g black vinyl at Record Industry, the Netherlands.

Polygonia and Simon Popp present ‚Apiformes‘, the second collaborative release from the two Munich-based artists.
As with 2023‘s ‘Candid’, ‘Apiformes’ was born from pure improvisation. Originating from the stems of four concerts, additional elements were built on from a foundation of live recordings — an intuitive endeavor by the musicians with such integrated effects to give one the impression of a sole sonic organism, and mystifying which sound is coming from which performer. Rapid creative decisions create an intriguing sense of aliveness, producing a uniquely vibrant buzz of jazz and electronic influences.

The duo set an otherworldly tone in their latest release, with leanings towards acoustic and percussion-heavy instrumentation, combined with playful synthetic musings which create a sense of opening up: an intriguing and earnest exploration of the ethereal, and what is available in nature as a window to the divine. Named for the scientific name for bees, the project’s mix of warm, dynamic improvisation and sequenced synth instrumentalisation mimic the similarly complex mathematical structures of a bee colony: a visual and sonic world made up of geometric shapes, mating dances and navigation patterns, sensations perhaps most energetically available through a sense of wonder rather than logical extrication.

Therefore this posthumous and highly limited to 120 copies pressing remains the only glimpse into his sonic world, seemingly formed and developed in a place rather isolated from the rest of the electronic music scene, a four track release spanning an arc from haunted Unformatted Techno to Rhythm Industrial x TechnoJazz amalgamations as well as bass heavy Broken Techno fusion and ethereal, hyperdecaying IDM x Glitch realms. This is for the most adventurous and headstrong amongst the DJs only.

Toronto’s Lammping is a project built on the idea that music can exist across timelines. Burnski's Instinct label hits release number 40, having very much helped to define this latest era of minimal, tech and garage mutations. Mattik is in charge for this one and he has become a northern heavyweight in this world. 'Original Badboy (It's Ecstasy)' is a title alone that tells you what to expect - naughty, playfully sleazy garage sounds with old school motifs and a killer descending bassline. 'We Tell Dem' brings an acid squelch and screwy synths that are decidedly futuristic. Mattik & Tuff Trax's 'Get No Sleep' tightens the low end bump and drops in some neon chords and choppy garage-house drums, while Cronnik's 'Feelin' (Mattik's Got The Feelin' mix) blends bumpin' drum work with spraying synths and wobbly bass. Moroccan-born producer Reda Senhaji, better known under the name Cheb Runner, presents 80K, the second installment in Beat Machine’s TERRA TEMPO series. A direct tribute to the cultural heritage of the Souss Massa Darâa region, the release reactivates ancestral rhythms and translates them into a forward-looking electronic language rooted in place, memory, and physical sound.

Drawing from traditions such as Ahwach, Gnawa, and other interconnected practices from the Souss region, the EP preserves original rhythmic skeletons while reimagining them through modern production and club-oriented structures.

Across six tracks, traditional instruments and electronic elements collide fluently, where the 808 functions as a structural force rather than an accent. The intriguingly named Pigeon Steve joins Especial for an EP of trippy, psychedelic electronic dance music that goes far beyond its origin – a thirst for all forms of movement – a struggle filled with all possibility.

Since its inception, the label has sought to take inspiration from a wide range of music genres – new wave and new beat to disco-not-disco, post punk and proto-house – never looking for a trend. This belief system expressed is human; intimate and authentic, dissolving and uniting around shared truths and universal values.

With the second release on Vakuum, the label founder Confusion himself connects seamlessly to the previous release with his “Illumina EP”. VAKUUM002 features four driving yet immersive dancefloor-journeys. On the A-side, “X-Ray” opens with a drum heavy foundation that in tense moments is accented by playful and bright textures. The title track “Illumina” is built around a stand-out emotional storytelling which runs through the entire piece contrasting with an overall melancholic mood. The flip side navigates to more rhythmic territories. “Luz” is built around stripped-back rolling drums, a repetitive hook and an uplifting and dense pad, while “Asix” carries metallic textural slices and strange atmospheres.

UK-based reggae veteran Macka B takes listeners on a journey back to the roots of Jamaican music with the release of his new single, “Memories.”

Recorded over the powerful Diverse Doctrine Riddim, “Memories” is a tribute to the golden era of reggae, celebrating a time when Roots Reggae dominated the dance halls and the term “dancehall” referred to the sound system sessions rather than the genre it would later become.

With enthralling lyrics and authentic reggae instrumentation, Macka B reflects on the lively dancehall culture of the 1970s—a period when conscious roots music, militant messages, heavyweight sound systems, and spirited community gatherings defined Jamaica’s musical landscape.

Known for his commitment to positive reggae music and socially conscious storytelling, Macka B once again delivers a recording that honors the genre’s legacy while resonating with longtime reggae enthusiasts and new listeners alike.

Naarm/Melbourne-born, now Berlin-based, Willem shows us the house side of his work. Techno-leaning grooves lay the foundation of the record, while leaving room for textures that drift into the realm where dub techno meets house.

On the B side, we hear the debut release from Naarm/Melbourne-based justjoe. His dreamy, pad-heavy productions round out the release perfectly, riding a line of tech house-inspired drums whilst holding a mood that taps into those deep, inward states.

Offering four more thrilling dancefloor weapons, the iconic talent lands on SHDW's new Mutual Rytm X Series to deliver the label's second release.

Legendary Bulgarian artist KiNK is widely regarded as one of the most respected live acts on the global scene. He is a noted tech wizard who creates loops on the fly, crafts killer drums and never fails to hypnotise dancefloors. He has released on almost every influential label of the last 15 years and taken his unrivalled live show to all corners of the world, often drawing on those sets to bring aspects and inimitable qualities from his performances into his tracks. This innovative approach has helped to solidify his reputation as a groundbreaking figure, inspiring a new generation of musicians and producers, and he once again showcases precisely why he's in a league of his own here with a first appearance on SHDW's newly minted Mutual Rytm X.

'Unicord' opens up this new EP in thrilling fashion with sleek, Detroit-style synth loops flashing up top as the heavy, pounding while warm drums drive things down low. 'Quantum Shake' brings 90s energy with new school sound deists - the dubby drums are fast and urgent, the synth craft is deft, and the percussion adds texture to a straight-up but sophisticated techno anthem. 'Pitch Down' then brings fantastically unhinged synth leads that spray and zip about the mix to boggle the brain. Rattling percussive loops and chunky drums keep things moving as those synths get even more wild. To close, the digital bonus 'Highpass Lowpass' is a masterfully muscular cut with rugged bass and taught synths interlinking to mind-melting effect.

Four percussion-heavy tribal techno tools on SDM008. Leaf-cutting flutes slice through bone-crushing grooves, royal frequencies rise above the dark, sub-heavy Baltic pulse. High energy on the A-side, deeper cuts on the flip.

Dajusch brings his distinctive sound to Backspin Records with 'Oracle', a five-track EP that showcases his instinct for powerful grooves, deep low end and carefully selected synth work, rounded out by a remix from Dutch techno veteran Sterac. Another strong addition to Regal's Backspin Records, this EP balances Dajusch's musical sensibility with his feel for high impact club music, keeping the focus firmly on club functionality.

Opening with 'Boxer', Dajusch immediately strips things down to their essential elements. A buzzing deep bassline provides the foundation while a repeated vocal hook becomes the central motif, surrounded entirely by percussion including a punchy kick, heavy toms and crisp hats. 'Narrow' introduces a saw wave synth that functions simultaneously as bassline and lead, gradually building tension through repetition and a slowly opening filter before a droning pad leads into the return of the drums. Closing the A-side, 'Reeses Piece' is built around a wide gliding Reese bass moving across di?erent notes. A heavy breakbeat, clean claps and hats provide the framework while a high-pitched vocal brings a distinct 90s rave energy, with swinging toms adding movement to an already groovy production.

On the flip side, the title track 'Oracle' shifts the focus towards melody, with Detroit-influenced synth work taking centre stage. A classy melodic motive is complemented by heavily processed vocals transformed into euphoric, drone-like elements, adding another dimension without losing the track's directness. 'Strings' closes the original material with a hefty saturated kick while string synths carry the main theme. Drums straight out of a classic drumcomputer and warm chords build into a more expansive breakdown before returning to the groove. Closing the EP, Sterac's remix of 'Narrow' takes the original saw synth motive into a more hypnotic direction, playing with its pitch and arrangement while reducing the percussion and pushing an already deeper kick further into the mix, giving the synth work more space to breathe.

With 'Oracle', Dajusch delivers a focused statement rooted in classic Techno while remaining connected to a modern sound. Another strong addition to Regal's Backspin Records, this EP balances Dajusch's musical sensibility with his feel for high impact club music', reinforcing the label's dedication to forward-thinking techno with a clear respect for where techno came from.

After a stellar debut on the No Guestlist label Blay steps back into the light with an ambitious new record Wave Formations. This record finds Blay pushing further into the space where afro-centric jazz and deep house collide, weaving together synth heavy production with organic rhythms and live instrumentation.

From its opening moments its title track ‘Wave Formations’ holds you captive. From field recordings blurring into a dreamy atmosphere, taking you on a 9-minute spiritual journey across the cosmos.

Its counterpart ‘Rhythm Of Love’ is equally dreamy; A reverb-soaked vocal track with live-band-like energy shape-shifts around its steady and forward pushing rhythm before unwinding into a meandering, melancholic piano outro.

On the flipside, ‘New Teacher’ is an invitation to dance — call-and-response synth phrases on top of driving percussive polyrhythms. What starts off simple and stripped down transforms into a full-on celebration; a boisterous rush of sonic afrofuturism that tries to reach the sun.

Keeping the joyful spirit high, the record closes off with the festive and playful ‘Faith In Us’. This highlife and afro funk inspired record reimagines band members feeding off of one another, switching from recognisable motifs to energetic solos pushing each other further into the light.

Ohio’s 156/Silence return with From a Distance, their crushing new full-length and first release for Pure Noise Records, arriving September 4. Produced by Josh Schroeder (King 810, Lorna Shore, The Plot In You), the album expands on the breakout success of People Watching with a darker, more cinematic approach that balances punishing heaviness, eerie atmosphere, and emotional depth. Featuring guest appearances from Mike Hranica (The Devil Wears Prada) and Alex Reade (Make Them Suffer), From a Distance pulls influence from horror, prestige television, and retro game soundtracks while moving seamlessly between hard rock, experimental textures, and the band’s chaotic mathcore roots. Atmospheric, unpredictable, and unbound by genre, From a Distance pushes 156/Silence further into their own lane while cementing them as one of heavy music’s most fearless rising acts.

Peach Discs sends their last record of 2026 to the pressing plant in the form of G-Zip's wigg(l)ed-out, tech'd-up, but very much tuned-in "The Mystic Dog" EP.

A new house-focused alias from Stephen Howe – who you may remember from his excellent "Mimesis" EP for Joe Delon's Welt Discos, or his abso-fucking-lutely everywhere remix of Oklou – the G-Zip sound sits in the centre of the Venn diagram between London's tech-house pump and the blissed/blessed relief of deep house.

Hats from early grime instrumentals, interviews in club smoking areas, compilation skit tracks, video essays and jazz interludes – "The Mystic Dog" EP is built from a library of samples that extend far beyond house, tracing a deeply personal line through Stephen's influences and inspirations both past and present. Meticulously sequenced synth lines sit atop tightly woven Digitakt grooves, all mangled together through FX boxes and the Mackie desk that sits at the heart of his Berlin studio.

The EP sets out its stall with "Juiced (Monomania Mix)." Written after Stephen's first visit to Open Ground and inspired by a standout set from Fumiya Tanaka, it pairs stomping, techy drums and phat bass with a restless collage of mono synth patches that donk, squiggle and gurgle throughout.

"Missing Track" leans into contrast as a staccato bassline rubs up against the tighter than tight percussion, before skyscraping synths enter the picture to respond to the rhythm section's call. Flipping the record puts us back into banger territory with "Talking About Drums", as the tuned percussion and heavier-than-heavy subs nail the track to the dancefloor. Until the halfway point that is, when post-dubstep-indebted synths briefly arc across the stereo field – a glistening glow-up amidst the locked-in groove.

Closer "Mystic Dog" showcases Stephen's knack for idiosyncratic melody, as a wonky modular sequence twists and turns across the track while smack-in-the-face drums offer a bashy counterpoint. A classic B2 track if ever there was one, and wicked way to round off the EP.

(Oh, and there's a cheeky alternative mix of "Juiced" as a digi bonus for the hip-house heads).

As Shadow Pressings hits its 10th release the fledging vinyl-only label bring us five heavyweight basement jams, hand-picked from DJ Split’s own circle of friends and musical conspirators including one track from Split himself. Dusty machines creating stripped back grooves, strange frequencies, and raw, late-night club pressure. A little Chicago, a little Detroit, a little somewhere else entirely.

Following the hugely acclaimed 11-track Variety Magic, which saw Vibert unearth and hand-pick a collection of forgotten jungle and drum & bass gems from his original mid-90s DAT archive, Robotic Futuristic digs even deeper into the same treasure trove. Four more raw, playful and highly distinctive Plug cuts, all previously unheard and finally brought to light.

The EP takes its title from one of the tracks and opens with Luke Vibert's personal favourite: 'Bring A Fuckin' Army'. A full-on jungle workout driven by rolling breaks, heavyweight bass and that unmistakable Plug funk. Put the needle on the record and let it rip. Go 'Head - Do It!

Robotic Futuristic also marks the 17th anniversary of De:tuned, making this a particularly fitting release for the Belgian label.

Revelling in adventurous, malleable synthesis and a strong melodic instinct, long-standing techno heavyweight Oscar Mulero brings his Trolley Route alias to Dekmantel. Across four rush-inducing cuts of studio exploration the Spanish veteran showcases a lighter side to his muse without sacrificing maximal dancefloor impact.

Oscar Mulero first debuted Trolley Route back in the early 00s through albums and EPs for Pure Plastic, Minuendo and others, offering a more playful strain of machine music to contrast with the steely output under his own name. Embracing dub textures and Detroit-coded synth leads, the recently-revived alias has become a haven for the looser styles that spill out of his studio. It just so happens these outliers are as crucial as any of Mulero's primary club smashers.

From the swampy chord sequence that dominates 'New Visual Order' to the meaty sub-bass and delay-soaked synth sweeps of 'Relativity Of The Vision', the whole EP is spilling over with madcap charm and a casual boss-level quality that can only come from a true legend letting their hair down.

Four years on from the much-loved Shelter EP, Orphic return with the Mambe EP, a long-awaited follow-up that sees the duo push further into their signature world of deep, dubwise techno and hypnotic club music. The record opens with the title track, a slow-burning piece of stripped-back techno that unfolds through submerged chords, rolling percussion and finely detailed sound design. Sitting alongside it are two solo productions from each half
of the Orphic project.

Kieran Jandu’s Back To Mine veers into deep, bass-heavy electro, all cavernous sub pressure, fractured drum programming and smoked-out atmosphere, landing somewhere between the weight of Digital Mystikz and the hypnotic, off-centre psychedelia of a Craig Richards set.

DJ Space Taxi takes a different route with Dream Cycle, an introspective, dreamlike cut where shimmering textures, drifting melodies and restrained rhythm combine to quietly draw
you in.

Flipping the record over, two of the underground’s most distinctive voices reinterpret the title track. Polygonia brings her unmistakable fluid, organic touch, stretching the original into a beautifully detailed, living groove, while Konduku strips things back into a
deeply hypnotic, psychedelic excursion that feels tailor-made for the outer edges of the dancefloor.

A beautifully restrained return from Orphic that more than justifies the four-year wait. Four artists, four distinct perspectives, held together by a shared appreciation for depth, space and subtle movement.

A two-way Italian/Mexican stand-off here, as Saint Wax founder Gledd (real name Eduardo Barbi) and Kaninchenbau label chief The Funk District (Fernando Mendoza) deliver their first joint EP since 2022. The latter steps up first with two solo workouts- the Clavinet-splashed nu-disco-goes-bluesy deep house shuffle of 'The River Bends Back' and the Rhodes rich deep house disco of 'Got To Be Alright' - before the duo combine on two collaborative cuts. 'I Said' is a gospel-powered slab of ever-building disco-house hedonism, while 'Down The Middle' is deeper, more bass-heavy and topped off with classic soul vocal samples. Gledd then takes over, following the infectious piano house bounce of 'I Said' with the colourful, acid-flecked excellence of 'Blessin'.
