Alex Kardo was initially a choreographer and dancer for Riccardo Cioni, with whom he shared his most important successes in the 1980s (he is one of the two dancers dressed in red in Cioni’s legendary video “In America”). He is still very active today as a dancer and singer.

In 1988, he released “Music Flying”.

This 12″ 45rpm, in addition to the original and instrumental versions, includes a powerful Chicago house (Ron Hardy… / Electro Italo remix by Delphi, one of the Tiger & Woods who has a drum machine instead of a heart and who has been setting dancefloors in Rome and beyond on fire for over twenty years. Also included is a house version by Kardo’s loyal friend, DJ Alex Gomma.

WRWTFWW Records is happy to announce the release of Casimir Liberski ReTRio's The Z Suites, a full-length jazz album reinterpreting the music from iconic Nintendo video game series The Legend of Zelda. The epic Z-Jazz journey is available in the following formats: limited edition 180g half speed mastered vinyl double LP housed in a heavyweight sleeve with obi, digipack CD with cavalier, and digital.

Casimir Liberski reimagines the golden era of video game soundtracks with jazz versions of Zelda favorites The Legend of Zelda (1986), A Link to the Past (1991), Link's Awakening (1993), and Oscarina of Time (1998) - plus a few Easter eggs! Dancing between nostalgia and avant-garde, the Brussels-born pianist and composer crafts a sonic world of pixelated folklore where melody and improvisation coexist in harmony.

For many video games are a journey of the mind. Since its inception - dating back to the early seventies - this avant-garde artistic medium has nourished the imaginations of a digital age. Pariter continues to strengthen its ties to the roots of the late 90s and early 00s London underground sound. Following the acclaimed reissues of Ron & Roland, 7th Voyage and Terry Francis the label now unearths a truly rare masterwork from two central figures of the legendary Housey Doingz collective: Justin Bailey and David Coker.

Originally released in 1999 and long considered a lost treasure, Majik Man has been one of the most elusive UK Tech House singles, patiently hunted by dedicated heads for decades. With almost no information ever available about the producers behind the project the mystery only amplified its cult status.

Now for the first time, the original DAT has been meticulously remastered by Yossi Amoyal, revealing the full depth of its hypnotic swing. 25 years on, Majik Man still sounds absolutely massive, an undeniable slice of gold from the era that defined the London sound.

A mastermind when it comes to crafting quality electronic music across the house spectrum, expressing various shades of his vision, French DJ/producer Traumer has solidified himself as one of the country’s finest exports while his alias has become a home for heavily sought-after minimal-leaning house productions that journey through expansive textures and trademark percussion. After combining with Romanian favourite Cristi Cons early last year as part of the imprint’s collaborative ‘X Series’ and following a series of releases on his own gettraum label, the Parisian makes a highly-anticipated solo return to Enzo Siragusa’s FUSE as he unveils his latest four-track offering in the form of his ‘Nectar’ EP. The title track ‘Nectar’ heads up the package and brings a blend of snappy drum grooves and zippy synths beneath hooky female vocals as it builds into a rolling anthem, while ‘Lamerci’ gets dubby with crisp percussion shots guiding hazy stabs and deep grooves. On the flip, ‘First School’ strips things back and focuses on a snaking bassline and signature silky melodies, before closing on the interwoven textures and shimmering tones of B2 ‘Rodage’.

The Pleased As Punch crew have every right to be as they roll out another eccentric disco 12". It's Saison that kicks off with the expressive and true 'I Can Make Good Music', a freewheeling collage of excitable loops, florid strings and disco drums with loopy vocals building the heat. 'You Are The One' from Fresco Edits is a chunky, drum-first sound with bobbling bass notes and great swing. Mainline's 'Heat Up The House' calms the vibe and sinks into a deeper, more smooth house sound for when the mood switches once the sun sets and DiscoPlex's 'The Funk' then brings a big finish with monstrous kicks and chopped and smeared synths bring the colour to a Kerri Chandler style groove.

Ronen Sabo aka Nenor has dropped his rough and ready blends of soul and house on labels such as Moodymann's Mahogani and UK powerhouse Defected. Having already found his way into top-level record bags with the first volume of this series on Fossils, he is now back on new label Mumtak with more fully re-imagined interpretations. 'Klock It' is a humid and steamy house sound with a throbbing low end and exotic vocals, while 'Clayers' rides on lovely claps with breezy vocal sounds, ensuring a smooth cruising vibe. 'To Be Free' is a jazzy laced and late night sound with dusty drums and scruffy samples adding up to something loveably rough around the edges and 'El Gato' then brings a more freewheeling sound with big percussive hints and darker bass.

Dungeon Meat and SlapFunk sit right at the vanguard when it comes to house music that truly kicks. It's deep but driving and never too much of a slave to tradition. This is a second collaborative outing that welcomes emerging producers to submit tunes for the chance to feature. Khun goes first with 'Prince,' a delightfully well-swung sound with subtle synth tones and room for the atmosphere to land. Nay Barr's 'Kidnapped' is a more hunched over slammer with a firmer groove, while Patrizio Scope's 'Terdiek8' gets more loose with squirming FX and liquid bass. Yugwan's 'Fungeondunk' is a razor-sharp garage, tech and house fusion to get the floor sweating.

Marc Cotterell makes no bones about the fact that he really loves the classic garage and jacking house sound. And don't we all, frankly. His Plastik People label is doing a fine job in keeping those vibes alive, but with updated designs that mean they aren't pure revivalist throwaways. This fifth various artists outing is another irresistible one that opens with the deep bumps of Chris Fry's 'Come To Me' and takes in the retro piano flair of Harvey Lowe's 'Swingin' Keys', Kid Mark's deep, New York style house cool and Claudio's more shuffling and sensuous 'Boomer'. All are well executed and therefore pretty irresistible tunes.

Reptile Mob is proud to present 'Lost N Found' EP opening the vault to a long-awaited archive collection of unheard garage house tracks from Darlington-born and London-based producer Highrise. Unearthed from old hard drives, this EP captures a raw, unfiltered moment in UK garage, true to its name. Highrise is the alias of Dinn Warde, a name jungle heads know well as Dwarde. While he's been making increasingly large splashes on the jungle scene, his garage output as Highrise on labels like Practical Rhythms, Vibesey Records, Shuffle & Swing, and Fresh Milk Records has been equally on-point. Canadian Jay Tripwire has always operated at the edges of dub, tech and house. His sound is deliciously deep and perfect for when time melts away and you just want to be zoned out in an endless groove. This new one from Soundrive is a perfect embodiment of that. There's a smoothness to the flow of the drums on 'Irene' and a gentle nature to the delicate pads that are layered up like watercolours while wordless vocals drift in and out like words you can't quite decipher from a dream. Thomas Melchior is a perfect choice of remixer, too, given his penchant for similar sounds, and he brings his signature finesse to a just as deep but slightly more driven rework.
