Das Drängen der Fans war so groß, dass Big Time Rush sich dazu entschieden haben, ihr neues Album digital schon früher als geplant zu veröffentlichen. Am 02. Juni 2023 erschien mit "Another Life" ihr erstes Studioalbum seit 10 Jahren. Nun folgt am 18.08. auch die CD und LP dazu!

Die Band um Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Logan Henderson und Carlos PenaVega wurde 2009 durch den Start der Nickelodeon-Fernsehserie Big Time Rush über Nacht zur Sensation. In ihrem Mittelpunkt: die Hollywood-Abenteuer von vier Eishockeyspielern aus
Minnesota, nachdem diese ausgewählt wurden, eine Boyband zu gründen. Die Serie war ein durchschlagender Erfolg und katapultierte die gleichnamige Band ins reale Leben, wo sie drei Studioalben veröffentlichte und weltweit Konzerte gab. Nach einer fast siebenjährigen Pause veranstalteten Big Time Rush 2020 eine überraschende virtuelle Reunion, um das 10-jährige Jubiläum ihres Hits "Worldwide" zu feiern.

Die Wiedervereinigung führte zu einer Massenhysterie unter ihren Fans und wurde zu einem globalen Medien-Spektakel. Im Jahr darauf wurden alle Staffeln der Serie auf Netflix eingestellt, und die Band ging erneut viral. Die Resonanz übertraf alle Erwartungen und bewies die Macht ihrer treuen Fangemeinde. Es folgten neue Musik und ausverkaufte Tourneen.

Sechs Jahre nach "Legends Of The Shires" kehrt Progmeister Richard West an diese Gestade zurück, um uns die lang erwartete Fortsetzung zu erzählen mit seiner brandneuen Supergroup: Oblivion Protocol

besonderer Prog-Aficionado ist Richard West, seit über 30 Jahren renommierter Keyboard-Wizard und Songwriter der britischen Prog-Metal-Pioniere Threshold. Sechs Jahre nach deren epischem Meisterwerk "Legends Of The Shires" kehrt West an diese Gestade zurück, um uns die lang erwartete Fortsetzung zu erzählen. Nicht unter dem Namen Threshold, wohlgemerkt. Sondern mit einer brandneuen Supergroup. Prog-Fans weit und breit, jauchzet und jubilieret: Oblivion Protocol sind da. Und sie bringen uns "The Fall Of The Shires".

DeYarmond Edison war der Vorläufer von Bon Iver und Megafaun. Im Sommer 2005 verließen vier Freunde Wisconsin in Richtung North Carolina mit einem einzigen Ziel: der Folk-Rock-Flaute zu entkommen. Während eines Jahres intensiver Konzentration, des Studiums und der Verletzlichkeit taten sie genau das, indem sie an den ekstatischen Rand des New Weird America vordrangen und von allem ein bisschen ausprobierten - Grindcore und Gospel, Free Jazz und Phasenstücke, Bluegrass und Blues - und es in DeYarmond Edison packten. Der Rest ist Geschichte_ Ein Mitglied ging nach Hause, um das zu gründen, was später Bon Iver werden sollte, während drei vor Ort blieben, um Megafaun zu gründen. Epoch ist die Geschichte von DeYarmond Edison: Brad Cook, Phil Cook, Justin Vernon und Joe Westerlund, erzählt wie nie zuvor. Die Sammlung umfasst fünf LPs, vier CDs, Dutzende von ungehörten Aufnahmen und ungesehene Fotos. Begleitet wird sie von einer ausführlichen Biografie des Schriftstellers Grayson Haver Currin, der auch als ausführender Produzent der Sammlung fungiert. Alles in allem fängt Epoch die Zeit ein, bevor aus diesen vier Freunden zwei andere, aufsehenerregende Bands wurden. Es ist eine Geschichte über Gemeinschaft, Visionen, Familie und ein Quartett, das zu gut sein wollte, um zu bestehen. Es gibt Momente des Experimentierens, subtile Wendungen im Fuzz von "Epoch" und eine stampfende Herangehensweise beim Covern von "All Tomorrow's Parties", die den Grundstein dafür legten, wie Bon Iver und Megafaun die akustische Musik ein wenig umkrempeln würden. Aber ein Großteil von Epoch unterstreicht die einzigartige Sichtweise der Gruppe auf amerikanisches Songwriting, auf das Nehmen von Patchworks, das Finden der Akkorde und das Singen aus vollem Herzen. "Trials, Troubles and Tribulations" ist ein Beispiel dafür. Am bekanntesten ist es als Duett von Justin Vernon und Sharon Van Etten, das hier in ausufernder Last-Waltz-Manier wieder zum Leben erweckt wird, mit Vocals von Megafaun, Justin Vernon, Frazy Ford und Fight the Big Bull. 10 years on from it's original release, we're very excited to make Reuben's third and final album available on vinyl for the first time ever.

The album was the first to be released on Reuben's self-run label, Hideous Records. On 29 March 2007.

Jamie Lenman noted that fans can expect "Long songs. Nice artwork and More funny long titles". In comparing INWT to its predecessor Very Fast Very Dangerous, the band expressed a clear preference for the new album, suggesting that it "feels more natural and raw sounding", with "more depth" compared to the "straightforward" sound of the 2005 album.

The album also features special guest vocals from Frank Turner, Hannah Clark and Paul Townsend (Hundred Reasons).

Die Viking Metal Giganten SKÁLMÖD auf den Spuren der nordischen Mythologie Mit Ýdalir blicken die Viking Metal Größen SKÁLMÖD auf die Veröffentlichung ihres sechsten Studioalbums, das am 18. August 2023 via Napalm Records erscheint. Ihr erstes Studioalbum seit fünf Jahren ist von dem nordischen Gedicht Grímnismál, einer berühmten Sage aus ihrer Heimat Island, inspiriert. Die Band begeistert nicht nur Fans bei Festivalauftritten wie auf dem Wacken Open Air, auch der isländische Präsident Guðni Th. Jóhannesson unterstützt die Band und ist sogar im Vorwort ihres offiziellen Buches The Saga Of Skálmöld (2021) verewigt. Basierend auf der nordischen Mythologie thematisiert „Skuld“ die Schwesternschaft des Nornen Trios, das über das Schicksals der Menschen entscheidet, was SKÁLMÖD mit düsteren Bass- und Gitarrenmelodien illustrieren. Mit Ýdalir liefert die Viking Metal Instanz SKÁLMÖLD auf ihrem neuen Album erneut mystische Momente, die sie auf diesjährigen Festivalauftritten wie dem Wacken oder dem Summer Breeze unter Beweis stellen werden.

Gegründet von Sänger Jake E (ex-AMARANTHE) und Gitarrist Jesper Strömblad (ex-IN FLAMES), hat sich CYHRA von einer Band, die an die früheren Projekte des Duos erinnert, zu einer ganz eigenen Identität entwickelt.

Mit der Ergänzung von Lead-Gitarrist Euge Valovirta (ex-SHINING) und Schlagzeuger Alex Landenburg (KAMELOT) hat die Gruppe zwei von der Kritik gefeierte Alben veröffentlicht: “Letters To Myself“ (Spinefarm) aus dem Jahr 2017 und “No Halos In Hell“ (Nuclear Blast) aus dem Jahr 2019 - ein Album, das von Rock TV (Japan) als "Bestes Album des Jahres 2019" ausgezeichnet und vom Power Play Magazine (UK) mit einer perfekten 10/10 bewertet wurde!

Und jetzt, im Jahr 2023, ist die Band mit dem kürzlich hinzugekommenen Gitarristen Marcus Sunesson (ex-THE CROWN / ENGEL) bereit, sich mit ihrem dritten und bisher stärksten Album „The Vertigo Trigger“ zurückzumelden.

Die gemeinsamen Alben und Auftritte des legendären Filmkomponisten John Williams und der Stargeigerin Anne-Sophie Mutter gehören zweifellos zu den Highlights der letzten Jahre. Dieses Album ist das neueste Ergebnis der langjährigen Freundschaft und Zusammenarbeit der weltweit gefeierten Künstler: Mutter spielt das Zweite Violinkonzert von John Williams, das der Komponist für sie geschrieben hat. Williams sagt über sein Violinkonzert: „Für mich geht es in diesem Stück vor allem um Anne-Sophie Mutter und
um die Violine als Meisterwerk der Geigenbaukunst. (…) letztlich wurde diese große Künstlerin selbst zu meiner Inspiration und Antriebskraft.“ Die vorliegende Aufnahme für die Deutsche Grammophon, mit dem Boston Symphony Orchestra unter der Leitung von Williams selbst, entstand kurz nach der Uraufführung
des Zweiten Violinkonzertes im Juli 2021 in Tanglewood. Der Boston Globe schrieb: „Selbst in dieser Uraufführung trug Mutter das Solo wie eine alte Freundin und formte jede Phrase mit Absicht und Elan.“
Dem lyrischen und sehr persönlichen Konzert folgen auf dem Album drei fantastische Zugaben: Beliebte Filmthemen von Williams, u.a. aus Star Wars und Indiana Jones, die er alle komplett neu für Anne-Sophie
Mutter arrangiert hat. In diversen Details des Violinkonzertes, aber auch in den schönen Filmmelodien, spiegelt sich die Ausdruckskraft von Mutters Spiel ebenso wie ihre virtuose Brillanz und die lyrische Wärme ihres Geigentons.

Mit dem Debütalbum „Old Time Feeling“ stellte sich 2020 die amerikanische Sängerin, Songschreiberin und Gitarristin S.G. Goodman vor. Goodman steht knietief in der Tradition des Southern Rock und verbindet ihn mit Country, Singer-Songwriter-Kultur und hier und da auch mal knackigem Rock and Roll. In ihren Texten legt die Künstlerin den Finger dahin wo es weh tut und in ihrer Musik flirtet sie des Öfteren so charmant mit Indie-Sounds, dass man sie keineswegs als konservativ oder „retro“ bezeichnen kann, auch
wenn sie musikalisch an klassische Vorbilder anknüpft. Der Rolling Stone legte sie beispielsweise allen Fans
von PJ Harvey ans Herz.

„Teeth Marks“ ist S.G. Goodmans zweites Album auf Verve Forecast, wie der Vorgänger wurde es produziert von Jim James von der Band My Morning Jacket. James über Goodman: „Ich denke, sie könnte
eine wichtige Rolle bei dem Heilungsprozess spielen, den wir unbedingt brauchen. Sie ist der lebende Beweis dafür, dass wir sein können, wer wir wollen, egal woher wir kommen.“

Die berühmten Songbook-Alben von Ella Fitzgerald sind Evergreens des Jazzgesangs, die in regelmäßigen Neuauflagen und inzwischen auch digital immer wieder alte und neue Fans finden. Ellas mitreißende
Interpretationen der besten Songs von ikonischen Komponisten wie Irving Berlin, Rodgers & Hart, Cole
Porter und natürlich George & Ira Gershwin sind bis heute unübertroffen. Dass Ella Fitzgerald Ende der
1950er Jahre ihr Irving Berlin Songbook zusammen mit dem großartigen Arrangeur und Orchesterleiter
Paul Weston auch live aufgeführt hat, war längst in Vergessenheit geraten.

Charles Lloyd, Ausnahme-Saxophonist, spiritueller Freigeist und musikalischer Visionär, ist seit mehr als
sechs Jahrzehnten fester Bestandteil der internationalen Jazzszene und mit 84 Jahren so kreativ und produktiv wie selten zuvor. Dieses Jahr veröffentlicht er auf Blue Note Records ein „Trio of Trios“, drei
eigenständige Alben in jeweils unterschiedlichen Trio-Besetzungen.
Den Anfang macht „Trios: Chapel“, aufgenommen mit Gitarrist Bill Frisell und Bassist Thomas Morgan. Das fantastische Zusammenspiel der drei Jazzgrößen macht gespannt auf die zweite Folge „Trios:
Ocean“ (erscheint im August) mit Gitarrist Anthony Wilson und Pianist Gerald Clayton, und die dritte und

Dreamland is the third album from Italian ambient band PCM. This time out, the trio of Francesco Perra (P), Matteo Cantaluppi (C), Matteo Milea (M) veer away from the inter-cellular themes of their previous collections to shed aural light on what humans spend most of their life doing: sleeping.

Each track on Dreamland focuses on a phase of sleep from that ever-frustrating half-awake feeling to tranquil R.E.M. and from disaffect- ing nightmares to blissful dreaming.

As a result, each of the album's works float by, some with a cloudiness that mirrors confused sleepy feelings and others that display the vividness of the most memorable of dreams.

Im Januar 1990 konnte Lindenberg mit dem neuen Panikorchester im Zuge der politischen Wende erstmals auch auf Tournee durch die ehemalige DDR gehen, wobei das Konzert in Leipzig ebenfalls aufgezeichnet und als das Livealbum Live in Leipzig ausproduziert und veröffentlicht wurde. Zeitsprung ins heutige Jahr 2023: Zum großen 50-jährigen Jubiläum des Panikorchesters erscheinen nun nicht nur diese beiden Livemitschnitte, sondern gemeinsam mit dem kaum weniger legendären Livealbum LIVE ’96, welches die bis heute anhaltende Reunion des originalen Panikorchesters dokumentiert und 1997 ebenfalls über Polydor erschien, und nun erstmals auf Vinyl verfügbar sein wird. Big Crown Records is proud to present the debut full length offering from Les Imprimés, Rêverie. The stirring and ethereal sounds of Les Imprimés have been making fans of anyone who hears them since their first 7" single hit the speakers. Morten Martens is the man behind the band. Born, raised, and working in Kristiansand, Norway, he keeps a low prole while making his heart felt, highly infectious, and unique music. This album is a long time coming for Martens and it is sure to make him a name to be reckoned with. The first thing you notice listening to Les Imprimés is the high level of musician-ship. Martens plays nearly every instrument on the recordings and handles the production and arranging. He has been making records for decades, winning a Spellemann Award (aka, the Norwegian Grammy) in 2006 for producing a HipHop album as well as getting nominations across three other genres. While awards and accolades speak to the level of his talent, this new album really shows who he is an artist on his own terms. Moving away from being a hired gun on the touring scene naturally led him to start doing more studio work. Slowly collecting gear and getting more experi-ence behind the boards he built his own studio on the island of Odderoya and was making a living playing with and recording other people's music. As the story goes, after those sessions would end he would work on his own project into the wee hours of the night. From these late night sessions, Les Imprimés was born and Rêverie began to take shape. However, "it wasn't until COVID, when things locked down, that I was really able to nd the time to focus on Les Imprimés" Morten says about creating and leading his own solo project. "It was a scary time. But I knew I had to do something with it." He took the sum of his inuences, combined them with his own vibe and got busy writing the music, playing the instruments, and singing the songs. "It's soul music, but I don't exactly have the soul voice," Morten explains humbly. "But I do it my own way, in a way that's mine. "It is his sound, his fingerprint, his sensibility, that makes his music hard to put in a box. The album showcases both Martens' range and his ability to make a cohesive album. The lead single "Falling Away" starts with a raw drum break and turns into a lushly arranged tune that paints the picture of love when it slips away. On "Still Here" he professes his resilience through life's twists and turns over a thundering track that puts a new spin on the B side ballad genre. Songs like "You" and "Our Love" mix tones from 60s and 70s Soul with arrangement nods to Doo Wop records while Martens' lyrics and delivery leave you singing the melodies long after they finish. "Love & Flowers" finds Martens in a moment of clarity with a song that ts the niche sub genre of happy break up tunes, the four on the floor track will move the dancefloor or while the message will resonate with anyone who put too much effort into the wrong situation in their lives. However, it is songs like "Muse" and "Chess" that really encapsulate the uniqueness of Les Imprimés as they push the boundaries of genre, one a profession of love for music and the other a cover of an electronic record respectively. Martens' lyrics, emotion, and delivery truly make the whole thing come together and stand out from any of his peers. Big Crown Records is proud to present the debut full length offering from Les Imprimés, Rêverie. The stirring and ethereal sounds of Les Imprimés have been making fans of anyone who hears them since their first 7” single hit the speakers. Morten Martens is the man behind the band. Born, raised, and working in Kristiansand, Norway, he keeps a low profile while making his heartfelt, highly infectious, and unique music. This album is a long time coming for Martens and it is sure to make him a name to be reckoned with.

The first thing you notice listening to Les Imprimés is the high level of musicianship. Martens plays nearly every instrument on the recordings and handles the production and arranging. He has been making records for decades, winning a Spellemann Award (aka, the Norwegian Grammy) in 2006 for producing a Hip Hop album as well as getting nominations across three other genres. While awards and accolades speak to the level of his talent, this new album really shows who he is as an artist on his own terms.

Moving away from being a hired gun on the touring scene naturally led him to start doing more studio work. Slowly collecting gear and getting more experience behind the boards he built his own studio on the island of Odderøya and was making a living playing with and recording other people's music. As the story goes, after those sessions would end he would work on his own project into the wee hours of the night. From these late night sessions, Les Imprimés was born and Rêverie began to take shape.

However, "it wasn't until COVID, when things locked down, that I was really able to find the time to focus on Les Imprimés" Morten says about creating and leading his own solo project. "It was a scary time. But I knew I had to do something with it." He took the sum of his influences, combined them with his own vibe and got busy writing the music, playing the instruments, and singing the songs. "It's soul music, but I don't exactly have the soul voice," Morten explains humbly. "But I do it my own way, in a way that's mine."

It is his sound, his fingerprint, his sensibility, that makes his music hard to categorize. He has crafted an album of songs with different energies that all fit together to make one gorgeous record. The lead single “Falling Away” starts with a raw drum break and turns into a lushly arranged tune that paints the picture of love when it slips away. On “Still Here” he professes his resilience through life’s twists and turns over a thundering track that puts a new spin on the B side ballad genre. Songs like “You” and “Our Love” mix tones from 60s and 70s Soul with arrangement nods to Doo Wop records while Martens’ lyrics and delivery leave you singing the melodies long after they finish. “Love & Flowers” finds Martens in a moment of clarity with a song that fits the niche sub genre of happy break up tunes, the four on the floor track will move the dancefloor while the message will resonate with anyone who put too much effort into the wrong situation in their lives. However, it is songs like “Muse” and “Chess” that really encapsulate the uniqueness of Les Imprimés as they push the boundaries of genre, one a profession of love for music and the other a cover of an electronic record respectively. Martens’ lyrics, emotion, and delivery truly make the whole thing come together and stand out from any of his peers. There’s an infectiousness and a pop sensibility in the writing that is done with the utmost class and taste giving Les Imprimés the rare quality of immediate attraction that only deepens the more you listen.

When The View reconvened last year after five years apart, the three old-friends realised just how much they have missed... well, everything about being in a band: the rush of seeing an audience react to their performances, the camaraderie of being together, a simple jam idea evolving into a fully-fledged song. A run of comeback gigs at Glasgow"s O2 Academy saw all 10,000 tickets sold in advance, the fan reaction was overwhelming and they were even joined on-stage by an old friend in the shape of "Line of Duty" actor Martin Compston. After all that, how could you resist wanting more? Especially as their rehearsals for the shows saw the band conjure up a wealth of new song ideas just like they did back when they first started out. And so The View today announce that "Exorcism of Youth" - their first album since 2015 - via Cooking Vinyl.
