The band come across like Bad Company mixed with Shadowman and their debut “Attitude” was loved by many. Lonerider have the feel of that classic Bad Company that we know and love, yet the songs are modern, fresh and vibrant. Since 2019 the band have been working on a new release and it will be available in early 2022, entitled “Sundown”. This new album boasts 12 new tracks of classic rock in the same vein as “Attitude”, well why change a winning formula? - The vinyl version is a numbered edition of 500 and to make it special it has two different tracks to the CD, namely “Love to Love” and “Long Time Gone”. A great start to 2022.

THE NEW GUITAR UNDERGROUND
The New Guitar Underground are Jean-Paul ‘Bluey’ Maunick and Francisco Sales of Incognito. Neither require introduction – Bluey – founder of the legendary Incognito, Inner Shade, CitrusSun and co-conspirator on the STR4TA project, solo artist, Composer and Record Producer & Francisco Sales, guitarist of Incognito and Citrus Sun, as well as being a solo artist in his own right, have come together to deliver a set of 10 highly crafted and accomplished tracks that lift the spirits and soothe the soul.
Inspired by the inspirational playing of the giants of the guitar world – Tony Mottola, Denis Budimir, George Benson, Bill Jennings & Melvin "Wah Wah" Watson to name but a few, the album reflects the deep love that Bluey and Francisco have for this multi faceted and beautiful instrument.
Guests on this album include bass players Francis Hylton, Hendrik Linder, Rui Pedro Pity and Julian Crampton, keyboardists Matt Cooper, James Berkeley and drummer Francisco Mendolia.
Of course the quality and depth of this musical composition should not be a surprise – given the pedigree of the artists involved, however, as Bluey says himself in the album notes, ‘’This is not a project seeking chart success. Just two guitar buddies having fun chasing musical waterfalls, and not sticking to the rivers and the lakes they’re used to.
We are just making ourselves happy. And if in doing so we make you happy too, then that, as they say, is "the payoff!" The result is an intoxicating fusion of guitars, samba, latin jazz, drum-driven beats, heavy bass lines - with some scratching and sampling thrown in for good measure!

Omowale is the powerful new album from Wildchild, one third of the legendary Lootpack crew and a formidable solo artist who released many projects on the iconic Stones Throw Records. Across the 15 tracks, the Cali rapper deftly explores what it means to be a Black man in the U.S. today with timely, poignant lyrics. It’s a hard-hitting look at this country and its decades of wrongdoing, all with an air of optimism for the future. This album is Wildchild’s first solo release since 2016’s T.G.I.F., though he’s clearly kept busy in the interim by working on Omowale and making a number of standout guest appearances. Many of his past collaborators are returning the favor, as we’re treated to dope features from Posdnuos (of De La Soul), Big Daddy Kane, Guilty Simpson, Ras Kass, Murs, and more. Plus, there’s head-nodding production from Madlib, Nottz, Georgia Anne Muldrow, and Mr. Brady, among others. They’re all bringing their A-game on Omowale, an impeccably produced album beyond its instrumentation and rhymes. Wildchild builds on the project’s narrative by incorporating audio from newscasts, protests, and other live events. He also brings that real-world feel to his lyrics, from joyful raps with his son (Black-ish actor/emcee Miles Brown) on the funky “G.O.A.T.” to raw rhymes about police brutality on “Breathe.”
When the album culminates with “Say Their Name”—a moving tribute to the rap legends we’ve lost over the years—Wildchild proves on Omowale that you can balance hope with the harsh, unjust realities of the world.

The Decades Collected compilations are part of the new Collected compilation series, which is a collaboration between Universal Music and Music On Vinyl. The compilations bring together the biggest names of each decade, combined with forgotten hits and less discovered gems, giving the listener an experience of listening to their favorite tunes while uncovering new musical grounds at the same time.

Now on album number seven , Metronomy has continued where many of their 2000s ‘cool’ band peers have dropped off along the way. Small World is a return to simple pleasures, nature, an embracing in part of more pared down, songwriterly sonics (some moments wouldn’t sound amiss on a Wilco release), all while asking broader existential questions: which feels at least somewhat rooted in the period of time during which it was made – 2020. For all that Mount seems to think he has made a comparatively sombre record, much of Small World still pulses with the zesty, tongue-in-cheek joie de vivre you’d expect of a Metronomy record.
So sure, things are different now Joe Mount is getting older and what’s on his mind is changing, but that doesn’t mark a change in quality for Metronomy. An immaculate set of tracks, Joe Mount’s ability as a songwriter and arranger shines through on Small World, evergreen. Metronomy might be growing up, but they’re not afraid to still have fun with it all. Through the tumultuous ebb and flow of the years, Metronomy continues to endure and make great pop music – and, really, that’s all that we could ask for.

Colin Blunstone and Sundazed Music celebrate the 50th anniversary of
Colin's post Oracle opus One Year with an expanded edition! The half,
itself titled, That Same Year, gives you a deeper introspective look into
that time in his life
The album largely features Colin singing accompanied solely by his acoustic
guitar.That Same Year includes beautifully sparse demo versions of three songs
from One Year including 'Caroline Goodbye' and 'Let Me Come Closer To You'
where Colin is joined by fellow Zombie Rod Agent on piano. Three songs have
Colin joined by Zombie bassist Chris White on classical guitar. Beyond the three
familiar songs you will find Colin's familiar voice and wit come through on eleven
completely unheard compositions all penned for the One Year album; including
'Sing Your Own Song' where sings of reading about his own death in Rolling
Stone.One Year is an album that somehow manages to be both lush and sparse

'Still Life' Carson McHones drittes Album und zweite Veröffentlichung bei Loose Music erscheint Ende Februar. Nach ihrem 2019er Album "Carousel" zählt die aus Austin, Texas kommernde Musikerin zu einer der innovativsten Künstlerinnen aus den Staaten. Inspiriert von u.a. John Cale, The Kinks, Richard und Linda Thompson – gleichgesinnte Künstler der späten 60er und frühen 70er, einer anderen Ära des Übergangs und der Innovation. McHone schrieb die Songs von 'Still Life' in ruhigen Momenten zwischen den Tourneen in ihrer Heimatstadt Austin und nahm sie dann in Ontario mit dem kanadischen Musiker und Produzenten Daniel Romano auf. Diese erstmalige Zusammenarbeit zwischen McHone und Romano offenbart eine unwiderstehliche Dynamik von den präzisen Arrangements bis hin zu den ausgefeilten Lyrics der Songs. 'Still Life' ist mehr als zeitlos, es ist zeitgemäß, von Natur aus modern und ist für Alternative Country Fans ein Highlight!

Erik Escobar with his third release on Ten Lovers Music is joined by Michael Pipoquinhal on Bass and Miguel Assis on Percussion and Drums for five amazing Brazilian Jazz Fusion tracks. The EP is titled New Brazilian Trio and first up is a track called Arcanjo Miguel which is dedicated to the aforementioned drummer and percussionist Miguel Assis. Following that is Chick which is dedicated to the late great Chick Corea who is still one of Erik's main references. Onto the AA side and Samba for Petrucciani is another track dedicated to one of Erik's main influences, the track is inspired by a Michel Petrucciani track called Bite. Next up is Maraca - Funk, this song is a fusion of a Brazilian rhythm called “Maracatu” with added Funk in the style of Herbie with The Headhunters, another one of Erik's influences since his teenage years. Finally Change of Plan is a song dedicated to the memory of his father, Freddy Escobar who was his mentor.

Bristol-based singer, songwriter and bandleader, who has powered her
way to the-forefront of the British blues and roots scene in recent years,
unveils her eagerly-awaited third album 'Shining in the Half Light'
Crammed with vibrant originals brought to life with her A-list touring band, it's yet
another significant step forward in a career already feted with awards and
acclaim.'Shining in the Half Light' is Bailey's first full length album recorded in the
UK & feature's Joe Wilkins on Guitar, Jonny Henderson on Ivories, Matthew Waer
on Bass duties and Matthew Jones on drums. It was recorded in deepest Devon
in December 2020 at Middle Farm Studios and produced by Dan Weller, best
known for his long working relationship with Enter Shikari. Elles wanted this
record to feature 'gospel style vocals' so in steps Izo Fitzroy, an incredible artist in
her own right, who arranged the stunning background vocals on 'Shining In The
Half Light', and performed them alongside Jade Elliot and Andrusilla Mosley.
An exciting team of co-writers feature with three credits for Ashton Tucker & Will
Edmunds, who both wrote with Elles for 'Road I Call Home', plus she teamed up
with longtime guitarist Joe Wilkins to write the slow-flowing, philosophical 'Riding
Out The Storm'. Other kindred spirits include guitar maestro Martin Harley, for the
gentle and romantic 'Different Kind Of Love' and Matt Owens, co-founder of the
hugely successful indie- folk outfit Noah and the Whale, on the aforementioned
'Sunshine City'. The album comes to a striking conclusion with its title track, cowritten with Nashville's Craig Lackey, written over Zoom in May 2020.

Sieben pragmatisch durchnummerierte Tracks hat Wallner komponiert und produziert, obwohl man Pragmatismus hier vergeblich sucht, denn die niemals überladene Opulenz ist ein fester Bestandteil seiner Musik. "Voices" ist natürlich in erster Linie ein Gitarrenalbum, hält aber nicht stumpf aneinander gereihte Griffbrett-Kabinettstücke parat, sondern folgt einem Narrativ, einer Art undertow unter, zwischen und hinter den Tracks: sie sind ineinander verwoben und miteinander verwandt und erzählen fortlaufend eine zusammenhängende Geschichte. Arpeggierte Synthie-Kaskaden und verdichtetes Riffing liefern hier die Staffelei für episch singende Soli, an denen Wallner hörbar Spaß hat. Allerdings hier wird nicht kopflos gegniedelt, man hört die Arbeit eines erfahrenen Komponisten und mehrere Themen und Motive ziehen sich wie Ariadnefäden durch die Tracks.
"Voices" wird höchsten audiophilen Ansprüchen gerecht und ist wie jede Produktion Wallners demanding listening, reife Kompositionen, in denen sich Herz und Hirn vertragen und ergänzen. Das Album illustriert den Jetzt-Zustand eines Musikers, der sich eine luxuriöse Position erarbeiten konnte, kompromisslos sein zu dürfen. Vielleicht sogar zu müssen. Sieht man sich die rund 26 Jahre seiner Diskographie an, war er das eigentlich schon immer und es sieht nicht so aus, als würde sich das jemals ändern.

Zwischenzeit seit dem 2015er „Vældet“ sind die biergetränkten Folk-Metaller in der Live-Szene in Dänemark und im Ausland aktiv, u des Bassisten
und der Entscheidung, das Material eines Albums 2017/18 auf Eis zu legen, entstand die Idee, eine Sammlung traditioneller Folksongs zu ver-
öffentlichen, die die Band inspiriert haben und die im charakteristischen Stil von Svartsot überarbeitet wurden.
Die ursprüngliche Idee war, dieses fünfte Album mit dem Titel „Kumbl“ (ein altes dänisches Wort für „Denkmal“ oder „Denkmal“) im Jahr 2020
zu Svartsots 15-jährigem Jubiläum zu veröffentlichen. Aus praktischen Gründen wurde das Album jedoch erstmals während der Pandemie aufgenommen – von keinem Geringeren als dem Schlagzeuger und aufstrebenden Produzenten der Band, Frederik Uglebjerg.
Die Veröffentlichung markiert auch die erste Zusammenarbeit der Band mit dem dänischen Metal-Label Mighty Music.

Runenhandschrift von ca. 1300. Zu „Liden Kirsten“ wird ein Musikvideo veröffentlicht, außerdem wird eine Lyric-Videoversion von „Drømte Mig
En Drøm“ erhältlich sein.
Zur Unterstützung des Albums wurden Svartsot für eine Reihe von Konzerten in ganz Dänemark gebucht. Während derzeit nur wenige europäische Shows gebucht oder geplant sind, werden hoffentlich weitere folgen, wenn die Reisebestimmungen dies zulassen.

12k is very happy to welcome Uwe Zahn, aka Arovane, to the roster. Arovane, a well-respected artist in the field, hailing from within the German countryside, has been active since the early 2000s beginning with releases on City Centre Offices and DIN in the heyday of the IDM and microsound years. He has since gone on to release work with n5MD, Pure Magnetik, and Strangely Isolated Place, among others. With Reihen he takes his characteristic pointillist synthetic structures and impeccable sound design and lays them in a web of fagility, decay and etherealism that feels like new a new direction for Zahn.

Tougher Than Tough – Trojan Rude Boy Sounds is an exclusive release from Music On Vinyl’s Trojan compilation series, which celebrates the best works from the legendary reggae label Trojan Records. It was compiled by Laurence Cane-Honeysett, who also wrote the linernotes. One of the things that made Elvis Presley a truly great
singer was that he was singing material that he deeply
loved. He’d grown up listening to Country Music and
Gospel, to the Blues, and its near relative Rhythm & Blues.
In fact, Elvis grew up in the very heartland of the Delta
Blues, in Mississippi and Tennessee. All of that music
filtered through Elvis, who added something of his own as
he delivered it to the world. This album collects fourteen of
Presley’s greatest Blues recordings between 1953 and
1960.

A key figure in Chicago’s second wave of influential house and techno producers, Mystic Bill returns to Classic Music Company with ‘Body Moves’, a release with serious club credentials and drenched in authentic NYC, New Jersey and Chicago influences. Snowmelt is a new record by Australian artists Seaworthy (aka Cameron Webb) and Matt Rosner, the long awaited follow up from their 2010 collaboration Two Lakes. Matt Rosner continues to explore the natural world to inspire his work based out of remote Western Australia. His most recent release being No Lasting Form (Room40). Webb's output as Seaworthy has been sparse in recent years as he continues to pursue a career in environmental research, focusing on urban wetlands and their ecosystems. This marks the first substantial release since Wood, Winter, Hollow, a collaboration with Taylor Deupree in 2013.

Sticking to the galactic theme of his ‘Apollo’ series, ‘Neptune’ sees Shadow Child deliver a Techno-touched cut steeped in nostalgia. With classic-sounding synths wreaking havoc over a rumbling bassline, this track is a peak-time floor-thriller of planetary proportions.

Reimagining the 1997 offering of Belgian pair Hand’s Burn, Shadow Child turns ‘Good Shot’ into a track that resonates with his theme of worlds beyond. The young and ambitious hip hop group Blackalicious emerged from the underground during the late Nineties. Their debut album established them as one of the West Coast’s top outfits, but it was the follow-up Blazing Arrow that earned them major acclaim. This second studio album was originally released in 2002 on MCA Records. The album features several guest appearances, including Zack de la Rocha (Rage Against The Machine), Gil Scott-Heron, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Cut Chemist and Chali 2NA (Jurassic 5) amongst others.

Blackalicious was known for their ‘positive tip’, in other words, their lyrics have often been spiritual and uplifting rather than violent or misogynous.The group consisted of DJ/producer Chief Xcel and rapper Gift of Gab.

For many years, Trumpet players battled in a competition
to see who could blow the highest, fastest and loudest in
the land of Jazz. Then came Miles Davis and with him
came a peace and calm descended. He created the
seraphic mood that pervades this groundbreaking album
and established his reputation as an innovative stylist,
while ensuring his place in the pantheon of Jazz giants.

The recordings of Grant Green are sought after and this
album is no exception. Presenting six quite varied tracks
where the moods and playing styles shift effectively,
supported by Ben Dixon on Drums and Organist Baby
Face Willette it crosses genres from Jazz and Blues to
R'n'B. The critic Dave Hunter retrospectively described
Green's playing as 'lithe and lose', and by 1962 he was
presented with the 'Best New Star' award by the famed
Downbeat Magazine.

This ground-breaking record produced by Creed Taylor
came about when Charlie Byrd introduced Stan Getz to
the Brazilian Rhythm style, having brought the first Bossa
Nova records over to America from Brazil. Recorded in a
church in Washington, during February1962. The subtle
improvisation of Getz, is perfectly matched by Byrd's finger
style on Classical Guitar along with the backing of
experienced personnel.

The Incredible Jazz Guitar of Wes Montgomery, cemented
his reputation and led to him becoming generally
acknowledged as one of the most important Jazz
Guitarists of all time, alongside Django Reinhardt and
Charlie Christian. Wes would eventually be cited as an
influence by guitarists as diverse as Stevie Ray Vaughan
and Jimi Hendrix

It was certainly an act of genius on the part of Norman Granz to
devise the concept of Ms. Fitzgerald devoting a double album to
the work of one of America's finest and most revered composers.
When Granz launched the Verve Records label in 1956, his first
release was the ground-breaking album that would elevate Ella's
career to new heights. Ella was eminently suited to interpreting
Cole Porter's clever, sophisticated lyrics. So indulge yourself in

"Bobby Ro$$" is the debut full-length from Perry Porter. It's a vibe-heavy hustle through the landscape of art, blackness, and self-love. Porter inhabits the alter ego of Bobby Ro$$, a trap music avatar of the much-beloved PBS painter, rapping alongside a who's who of the top up and coming music producers from the Northwest. The Summit of the Gods is a French animated film directed by Patrick Imbert, released in 2021. It is an adaptation of the manga The Summit of the Gods by Jirō Taniguchi, based on the novel by Baku Yumemakura. This journey is set against the backdrop of the fate of a Japanese mountaineer and George Mallory's adventure to the summit of Everest.

Balancing on a double culture that he claims, Amine Bouhafa develops a very personal style by playing with the clichés of orientalism. The quality of his writing and the originality of his style led to his being chosen by the producer Sylvie Pialat and the Mauritanian director Abderrahmane Sissako to compose the music for Timbuktu. The film won seven Césars, including the one for best original music.

More recently, he composed the inspired scores for Tu Mourras À Vingt Ans by Amjad Abu Alala (Golden Lion for the first film - Mostra 2019 / Best Music Award at the Odessa International Film Festival 2020), Un Fils by Mehdi Barsaoui awarded for the best actor (Orizzonti selection - Mostra 2019), Gagarin by Fanny Liatard & Jérémy Trouilh (Official Selection of the Cannes Film Festival 2020 - Best Original Score Award at the Rome Film Festival 2020 and at the Bordeaux International Independent Film Festival (FIFIB), L'Homme Qui Vendu Sa Peau by Kaouther Ben Hania awarded Best Actor (Orizzonti selection - Mostra 2020) and the Star of the Best Arab Film at the El Gouna Festival 2020 and The Summit of the Gods by Patrick Imbert (Official Selection of the Cannes Festival 2021).

This split LP offers two short albums on one disc, providing two entry points into Seattle's flourishing underground hip-hop and electronic music scenes. On one side is “S’WOMEN,” the highly-anticipated solo debut from THEESatisfaction’s Stas Thee Boss. “Love Memo,” on the flip is a runaway success from EDM wunderkind Chong The Nomad. Both women are producers, singers, beatmakers, and queer artists of color. Crane City Music is proud to press up both projects on limited-edition, deluxe numbered vinyl. Every single record is a different color with spatter accents. Chicago’s Dusty Groove Records praises this split vinyl, citing its “hypnotic, abstract hip-hop vibe, moody, insistent beatcraft, and vocal samples... It’s solid all the way.” Pitchfork adds that "this is a sharp solo debut doused in heartbreak and identity." The Needle Drop's Anthony Fantano is also a fan, saying "Chong The Nomad is fucking awesome. There's not a thing about this I don't like. This music literally made my day."

The development of the rock steady sound, late in 1966, enabled a new generation of young, dynamic music makers to make a mark upon Jamaica’s recording industry and of these, few proved more successful or influential than Clancy Eccles. In 1969 he scored his biggest hit, the rambunctious ‘Fattie Fattie’, which sold in huge amounts both at home and the UK. The single’s popularity prompted Trojan Records to issue Eccles’s debut long-player, Freedom, which gathered the best of his self-produced recordings as a singer. Freedom’s sleeve photo is one of the classic reggae music images, with Clancy riding a motorcycle through a rugged terrain absolutely screaming relaxed cool.

TIME magazine counts Gifted Gab amongst the top female rappers in America. "Cause & Effect" is her vinyl debut, showing off Gab’s singular style, mixing complexity with wit, confidence with seduction, bars-upon bars of rapping with R&B melodies. Half of the album is hard-hitting gangsta murder music, while the flip side is effortlessly smooth. "It's for the after-party, the kickback. When you finally got the one you’ve been vibing with all night up close and personal,” as DJ Mike Ramos describes in the liner notes. The record is the color of blood and love, both appropriate analogies for its twin sides. Former New York club CBGB’s soundman Tommy Victor founded Prong in 1987 as his outlet for sonic fury. Having their roots in the Thrash Metal and Hardcore scenes, Prong carved a niche for themselves - groovy, angry, massive; just perfect mosh music.

The trio wrecked stages and impressed audiences all over the world. They built on their signature sound with their 4th full length album Cleansing. Aptly titled, the album indeed cleansed their sound, resulting in 12 stripped down, highly effective musical precision bombs. The single “Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck” became one of their significant highlights.

Cleansing is produced by Terry Date and feat. ex-Killing Joke members Paul Raven and John Bechdel. Prong will be performing the album live around the globe in 2019.

The Seattle Times declared “On The Quarner” as one of the best albums of 2020, saying that “Stas doesn’t so much rap over beats as aerate her misty tracks with the feeling of a dream you’re certain is real.” The title is a nod to "On The Corner," the 1972 jazz classic from trumpeter, bandleader, and composer Miles Davis. Stas chops up the source material, reimagining and recontextualizing it as a single 16-minute musical suite for these pandemic days indoors. Seattle radio station KEXP calls this record a “masterwork that warrants uninterrupted listens”, while describing the former THEESatisfaction member as "a sculpture artist, building statues out of every musical element possible, stacking rhyming sounds and pitch-shifted harmonies, unpacking complex thematic concepts, and rapping circles around even the best of her peers just for the hell of it.” Northwest underground hip-hop label Crane City Music is thrilled to release a deluxe vinyl edition of “On The Quarner” on red wax with an extra 22 minutes of exclusive instrumentals and bonus tracks. Battle Axe is a Trojan compilation album that was originally released in 1972. The album is a set of early productions by Lee Perry. It features many rarities and includes recordings by well-known singers such as Junior Byles, Delroy Wilson and Little Roy amongst others. Most of the instrumentals are by The Upsetters. The title track, which is also by The Upsetters, is actually an instrumental version of Bob Marley & the Wailers’ “Small Axe”.

The Upsetter is a rocksteady, reggae compilation that was originally released in 1969 on the Trojan label. The album features early recordings by the iconic producer Lee Perry. Most of the instrumentals are by Perry’s studio band The Upsetters, but the recordings also feature vocal tracks by Busty Brown and The Muskyteers. The latter are also known as The Silvertones, but sometimes they recorded under the name of The Muskyteers. On The Upsetter they’ve recorded their version of Brook Benton’s Sixties R&B/pop song “Kiddio”.
