Nigel Godrich ist einer der renommiertesten Produzenten und Toningenieure, der vor allem für seine
jahrzehntelange kreative Zusammenarbeit mit Radiohead bekannt ist. Er begann seine Arbeit mit der
Band im Jahr 1994 und hat seit „OK Computer“ (1997) jedes Radiohead-Studioalbum produziert; damit
war er maßgeblich an der Gestaltung eines der einflussreichsten Musikkataloge der Moderne beteiligt. Godrich, der ebenfalls zweifacher Grammy-Preisträger ist, gehört zudem zu den Gründungsmitgliedern der
gefeierten Band Atoms for Peace – gemeinsam mit Thom Yorke, Flea, Joey Waronker und Mauro Refosco.

Passend zu einem Song über die Geister der Vergangenheit steht die Lead-Single „Brussels Is Haunted“
exemplarisch für das stolze Vermächtnis der Band; der lebensbejahende Refrain ist eines der Gründerväter
des Post-Punk absolut würdig.
Auf allen bis auf einen der Songs von „Apples for Isaac“ ist zudem der verstorbene Schlagzeuger Clem
Burke zu hören. Er verstarb tragischerweise während der Entstehung des Albums und erhielt von der Band
folgende Widmung:

Der aus Brooklyn, New York, stammende Trompeter Eddie Gale (1941-2020) machte sich Mitte der 1960er
Jahre zunächst durch Aufnahmen mit dem Sun Ra Arkestra, Cecil Taylor und Larry Young einen Namen. Auf seinem beeindruckenden Blue-Note-Debütalbum “Ghetto Music” verband er 1968 seinen eigenen
avantgardistischen Ansatz nahtlos mit Gospel, Soul, Blues und Einflüssen afrikanischer Musik. Diese Linie
verfolgte er ein Jahr später auch auf seinem zweiten Blue-Note-Album “Black Rhythm Happening” weiter,
das er wie den Vorgänger mit seiner neunköpfigen Band und dem achtköpfigen Gesangsensemble The Noble Gale Singers aufnahm. In einer Rezension des Albums schrieb das US-Jazzmagazin DownBeat damals:
“Die Zukunft des Jazz hängt von Musikern wie Gale ab, die das Vokabular des Genres erweitern.”

Diese neu remasterte Ausgabe von „The Red Garland Trio + Eddie ‚Lockjaw‘ Davis“, auch bekannt als
„Moodsville Volume 1“, erscheint im Rahmen der neuen Moodsville Acoustic Sounds Reihe. Auf dem
Album, das ursprünglich 1960 veröffentlicht und in Rudy Van Gelders Studio in New Jersey aufgenommen

Anchored in a heavy groove that never loosens its grip, Crosstown Rebels’ latest release, ‘Dirty Dancing’, brings together two Dutch artists whose ideas have been shaped by a shared creative language built over time. Amsterdam’s Franc Fala continues to build on what has been a rapid rise onto the global house circuit, with a run of notable releases coupled with a growing touring schedule, ensuring his records and name have been the talk of the town for many. Alongside him, regular collaborator, fellow countryman and close friend Benja has also ensured his approach to music has also landed with impact, leaning on energy and atmosphere to shape records designed to resonate beyond the dancefl oor. Here, the pair reunite for their biggest collaboration to date as they make their debut outing on Damian Lazarus’s revered imprint with a record crafted for the peak hours.

Everything revolves around a vocal hook that doesn’t sit in the background; it emerges to take over the track, keeping listeners locked into the groove beneath. Rather than pushing in obvious directions, it circles and tunnels deeper, drawing listeners in until it becomes the only thing that matters. On remix duties, Brazilian DJ/producer Malive delivers two contrasting interpretations that take command of the B-side. His ‘Noturno Mix’ pushes into shadowy, late-night territory, extending the track’s hypnotic pull through melodic textures and tension, whereas his ‘Goes To Rio’ mix takes a more fluid direction, loosening the groove and introducing bright keys alongside a slick rhythmic swing.

Arguably one of the most memorable house music moments, born out of the black LGBT scene in Chicago at the legendary Warehouse and known as one of Frankie Knuckles earliest productions; ‘Your Love’ is a stone cold classic. A record that is up there with the greats, instantly recognisable and a song that only get better with time.

Written by Jamie Principle and originally released in 1986, ‘Your Love’ has become a seminal recording over the past 34 years. Originally an underground club anthem, famously borrowed on the crossover hit ‘You’ve Got The Love’ (The Source feat. Candi Staton), and most recently re-produced by as part of the Director’s Cut project which aimed to update a number of classic cuts for the modern dancefloor, this is a record that endures the test of time. Working alongside The Frankie Knuckles Foundation and Eric Kupper, SoSure Music now releases two new remixes for 2020 from Darrius Syrossian and Alan Dixon.

First up, House music aficionado and legendary Sankey’s resident Darius Syrossian offers his unique blend of beats to the remix package. With releases on the likes of Get Physical, Viva Music and Hot Creations, Darius’ production is heavily influenced by some of the greats – think of the finest spinners from Detroit, New York and Chicago – and is well placed to approach this huge task. Darius introduces a rolling house beat and some old skool breakbeats into his mix, keeping the energy high throughout; bringing a feeling of a euphoria and hitting the peak time moment.

With a beautiful floaty interlude and a raw emotion this remix updates a classic with respect while also giving a fresh new twist.

To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the band's 3rd album and major label debut from 27 February, 1996, the band is releasing In Search Of...30th Anniversary Edition. Recorded at Grandmaster Studios in Hollywood, California by the band and Brian Jenkins (KYUSS, SCREAMING TREES), "In Search Of_" is considered a classic of the '90s and a pillar for the "stoner rock" movement. Highlights include the lead single "Asphalt Risin'," "Redline" and fan favorite "Cyclone Launch." Disco Segreta is going to make Italo disco fans very happy once again, with the reissue of one of the hardest-to-find and most coveted late Italo disco obscurities: Gabriella Bove’s “Autoblu”.

Originally written and produced by Argentine-born singer and songwriter Chaly Albert, “Autoblu” has recently caught the attention of hardcore diggers for its unmistakable ’80s Italo disco sound paired with a chilled sun & sea latin vibe, melting Italo disco with synth-pop.

Released in 1989, when the Italo disco craze was starting to fade into what would eventually become the early Italian dream house sound, “Autoblu” pairs Bove’s peculiar vocal presence with a combination of sounds that is now instantly associated with the Balearic aesthetic. Perhaps precisely because it was so ahead of its time, the record failed to find its audience upon release: of the original 500-copy pressing, most copies reportedly ended up being destroyed.

Disco Segreta reissues both original 12″ versions in a strictly limited edition, sourced from the original master tape and faithful to the tracklist and aesthetic of the original release.

Since the release of DAMAGED in 2024, Michael Fiedler aka GHOST DUBS has been surfing intensifying waves of adulation, earning praise from such diverse underground legends as Justin Broadrick (Godflesh/Jesu), Regis, Stefan Betke (Pole) and Steve Von Till (Neurosis). With second album Oblique, his mastery of sculpting sound waves results in a spellbinding set of alien soundscapes: larger in scale, richer in tone and considerably more cinematic than its predecessor. Lower, deeper and moodier, its cloudy abstractions, shadowy pulsations and submerged rhythms find Fiedler reaching further into his own sonic void, crafting blurred melodies and addictive narco loops into something simultaneously heavyweight and hypnotic. Album opener "Low Times" sets the atmospheric pressure to maximum, resembling a dream date between prime dirt-house era Andy Stott and Berlin dub-tech pioneers Basic Channel. From there, Oblique descends into a series of enchanting mood scenes: the furtive, balletic gyrations of "After All", the haunting ambience and buried heartbeat throb of "Soft Collapse", and the noirish atmospherics of "Blackout Dust", which worms its way into the mind like some forgotten David Lynch scene. The spirit of reggae is more distanced here than on DAMAGED, but the ghost of Jamaican dub still permeates these foggy soundscapes, particularly on "Bombed Suburbs", where Augustus Pablo-style melodicism is chopped, screwed and slowed into a magnetic lock groove. Superficially minimal but maximal in its minute detail, Oblique is a record of contorted reflections, mesmeric echoes and tantalising audio mirages. By the vaporous mist of closing track "Almost a Structure", obvious rhythm has been craftily filtered away, leaving a blurred and blunted residue full of mystery and implied narrative. Dense in the best possible sense and crushing when played loud yet equally potent played quiet, Oblique imagines dub techno burning its own rigid rulebook: sensual, funky and concussive rather than dry or alienating. For REZ36 we turn to two old school Italian musical stalwarts in Giangi Cappai and Fabrizio Minozzi. Originally titled as the 'Dynagrooves EP' and released on Italian label HT back in the early 90's it's a diverse and interesting record that deserves to see the light of day once again. This ain't no Baseball game.

I’ll be straight up, this press release got long! but f**k it, it’s about the connection you make with music and this time it is a long story. Plus there’s at least two serious points to make:

Groove Armada are a consequential part of the story of dance music, particularly in the UK (and this EP shows that the story isn’t over yet by a long way….)

First Facts. Then the story.

Facts are we have three jacking stripped back house tracks built for dancefloors by some of the best to ever do it landing 21st Aug 2026 on Shall Not Fade. Groove Armada’s ‘Body Action EP’ drops on 12” vinyl & digi AND we are gassed about it.

Lead track ‘Body Action’ is a heads-down stripped back 808 workout. It’s proper gear, a pumping house cut for the DC10 terrace. ‘Gangster Girl’ should be studied. It’s a culinary masterpiece from a pair of three starred chefs. The ingredients are 2000’s minimal percussion, ragga vocals and a rude AF bassline but the result is just quintessentially Groove Armada… Deconstructed to make the dancefloor bounce but signature Groove Armada; immediately identifiable, and so much more than the sum of its parts. Then there’s ‘U Found Love’. I said this section was for the facts: so Fact. this one is HUGE. A feel good and emotional house anthem complete with a killer vocal that's been playing in our heads and putting smiles on our faces for months. This one reaches back on the House lineage for those classic M1 organ chords. Hands up. Smiles wide. Find Love.


Now the story…

I have been a Groove Armada fan since the first time I heard ‘At The River’. I don’t actually know when the first time I heard it was because it was everywhere. It was the cornerstone of at least one, probably two summers for me in the late 90s, it was the soundtrack to my imagined Ibiza, the downtempo Cafe Del Mar / Cafe Mambo at sunset ibiza anti-athem for whatever riviera you could conjure. It was “chillout” for many. But this was no one hit wonder there was depth and legitimacy in those early Groove Armada tunes. Born from the early parties they promoted Groove Armada’s output covered house, trip-hop, breakbeat, downtempo and big beat too. Cornerstones for the new everyraver at a time the underground was going overground fast. It was the age of the CD, Ministry of Sound compilations were good and not yet weekly and the collective thirst for dance music culture hadn’t yet tipped into full blown commercialisation. Every Ibiza, Dance, Chillout compilation that was worth listening to featured a Groove Armada track. Their name could sell 10,000s of CDs across every high st in the land. And this was a good thing.

The point is coming, but back to some facts, quickly!

‘At the River’ was first released on Tim ‘Love’ Lee’s ‘Tummy Touch’ label (more on Tummy Touch shortly) it featured on the first pressings of Groove Armarda’s first album ‘Northern Star’. (which is a great album!). And it was also on their 2nd album, ‘Vertigo’ which was released on Jive Records (bare with here). Jive is one of those labels you know but you don’t — it was part of Zomba which later merged into BMG, which then merged into Sony BMG and has now in 2026 been relaunched under RCA — ANYWAY… Jive is a massive legendary catalogue including many important records from 2Pac, Tribe Called Quest and… HERE IT COMES… if you look on Jive Records Discogs page you’ll see Groove Armada’s Vertigo album sits sandwiched between Britney Spears – Oops!... I Did It Again album and Back Street Boys - Black & Blue album.

SO.. my point, finally. Just like the entries above and below on the Jive Records Discogs page Groove Armada are a massive act on a global, generational scale. And I’d argue that Britney and Back Street Boys did as much over their careers to get teenage girls (and boys) into music as Groove Armada did to get people in general into dance and electronic music AND that Groove Armarda’s catalogue and Live & DJ performances continues to do a lot of heavy lifting in that respect today.

What is different here though is that ‘At the River’ will be 30 years old next year and while my inbox is open if Britney wants to fire over some tunes Groove Armada actually did. That’s more than a catalogue with longevity, it’s true consistency. This is just what they do and have always done and that is what is so remarkable.

Ok so thats the first point well made I hope.. Groove Armada have had a substantial impact on dance music, and a hint at the second. But let’s also be clear - these 3 tunes bang. On to the second point..

Releasing records is a wonderful thing. One of my first jobs in music was working for Tummy Touch Records (remember them from earlier…they released the first Groove Armada tracks circa ‘97..) . It was a happy accident.. I’d been working at another record label in the same building in Shoreditch and Tummy Touch needed someone to ‘run’ the office. (well “run” is over egging it, more “be in the office”). I never met Andy & Tom, but at the time it felt slightly serendipitous being around their music and I did get a taste of the scale they had achieved when I had to entertain an MCPS audit because the label had pressed and sold so many copies of Groove Armada records that no one could keep up. (I’ll never forget that dull as dishwater auditor who bored me to tears for a week and everyday tried to get me to expense lunches for him (“there is no expense account mate”) as he fingered through the folders and folders of sales/invoices. Everything was paper back then, and this was my music industry and from what I could see Groove Armada were winning it.

So roll on 20 years and here I am releasing Groove Armada on Shall Not Fade and it feels like a full circle moment. What’s madder still is that the Shall Not Fade offices now are in the same building in Shoreditch as the Tummy Touch office was. And while I’m sure no one else finds much meaning in this geographical serendipity – particularly as I’ve never actually been in the same room as Tom & Andy nor do i have any idea if they have ever been in the building I am writing this press release from & dealt with an MCPS audit in 20 years ago – but what is magical is connection. Connection is not always direct or physical or even mutual but for each of us connection can bring joy, joy when things fit, joy when they are familiar and joy when they are consistent. So in addition to the bodily joys these new Groove Armada tracks bring to my ears (and the walls of this room), many many others will take great joy that these tracks will continue the connection they have with Groove Armada’s music. And that Groove Armada continue to be so consistent in their output only amplifies the joy in that connection. Groove Armada have always made very very good, accessible, enjoyable, feel good music to make you dance and smile. And that’s what it’s all about really isn’t it.

Born from the collision of punk, analogue synthesisers, sequencers, disco, reggae and experimental studio techniques, hardCORPS created electronic music that was as physical and emotional as it was mechanical. The arrival of French vocalist Regine Fetet gave the group its defining identity, placing her raw, uncompromising voice against the dense machinery of Hugh Ashton, Clive Pierce and Rob Doran. Working mainly with a Roland System 100, several Roland MC4 sequencers and later an additional MC500 and Atari ST 1040 computers, etc. pp., hardCORPS always transformed limitations, accidents, distortion and human imperfection into part of the music itself. Although rooted in the early 1980s, ‘Metal & Flesh’ refuses easy nostalgia, retaining the tension, space and character that made hardCORPS unlike their contemporaries. Yet, shall we eventually mention Kraftwerk, maybe let’s quote Ian Shirley from Record Collector magazine: „’Je Suis Passée‘ was not only a love letter to Kraftwerk but penned with such verve, passion and precision that Ralf and Florian probably would have accepted a blind date at a Düsseldorf cocktail bar (…).“ And as Martin Rushent famously said in 1990: “Hard Corps were ignored in their time. Perhaps it is the burden of the adventurous and the innovative to be ignored in their time, which is sad. Don’t ignore them now.”

This new edition has been carefully remastered to preserve that character and dynamics rather than simply making the recordings louder or more ‘modern’, while the artwork has likewise been developed to reflect the band’s original identity. Metal & Flesh’ is not merely an artefact of the 1980s, but a rare and fiercely individual document of four people discovering what happens when human instinct and machines collide.

Berlin-based Harry Wills joins the label for an EP of loopy tech house.

The debut album from Glasgow's Homework is fuzzy, sentimental indie rock for fans of Teenage Fanclub, Pavement, and The Vaselines. Bang Here if Stuck was recorded live at Chime Studios and arrives on vinyl September 25 vía Meritorio Records. Homework is a quintessential Glasgow band - overstimulated and a little rough round the edges, but with a pretty streak and a big, sentimental heart. They make fuzzy 90s-indebted indie rock that's bursting with ideas and sounds like home. Twin songwriters Michael Newton and Santiago Taberna trade off driving lopsided anthems and fuzzy baroque pop experiments, their voices and guitars tangled together in a way that feel less like a band and more like a shared language. Rhythm section Lizzie Quirke and Andrew Gordon provide a loping centre of gravity - steady enough to hold everything together, loose enough to let it breathe. Bang Here if Stuck, their debut album, delivers a kind of enthusiastic chaos where everything fits exactly where it should. Recorded at Chime Studios in Glasgow with Melissa Brisbane, the band tracked the core of the album live to best capture the playful spontaneity of their gigs. Drawing from the likes of Pavement, Teenage Fanclub, The Vaselines and Urusei Yatsura, it offers a familiar sound that's easy to love, punctuated by oddball diversions that lead somewhere unpredictable and unique. Iker is back with "Sinkronia". A gripping takes on Eastern and Western minimalist traditions influenced by the likes of Steve Reich, Suso Saiz or Midori Takada. Transcendental and esoteric rhythmic wonders that take time to unfold. A young percussionist and guitar player with electronic interests displaying a rich sonority and a great sense of structure and arrangements. This record shows the refinement of Iker's attributes, who initially worked in the noise/punk scene and now is part of the local Free Jazz/Improv landscape of San Sebastian, although he currently lives in New York where he has been playing several gigs including a rendition of Glenn Branca's Symphony No.13 at Lincoln center with 100 guitarists. For this new album he uses Xylophone, hand drums, electric guitar, synths and percussion instruments that guide us in an energetic way to territories somewhere between Italian avant-garde, Japanese New Age and American Minimalism. Iker Munduate Thusberg is a Basque multi-instrumentalist born and raised in San Sebastian and with strong ties to Mikkeli in Finland, where half of his family are from. A fine arts student at Bilbao's UPV (Basque university), his interest in sound, art and design has led him to combine all these different disciplines and convey them into his music and his work. 2026 Repress

Nottingham duo Andy Riley and Laurence Ritchie AKA Inland Knights, continue to celebrate a quarter of a century of Drop Music with a third special EP. This one features two utterly new and exclusive cuts - the first is 'Bad Situation', a brilliantly loose and soulful deep house sound with well-treated vocals, and the second is 'Some Lovin', a more raw and jacked-up cut but with magnificently elastic bass, funky riffs and old-school vocals. The steamy house throb of 'Slummin It' and twitch future tech of 'Get High' round out a fine EP from these enduring greats.

With his Periodical EP, Isaiah delivers a six-tracker rooted in the foundations of early techno, built around percussion, groove, and stripped-back functionality. As a driving force in the underground scene, both as a DJ and the founder of the Frenzy and Vulged collectives, Isaiah meticulously designed this EP for selectors and club settings.

Opening with 'Monthly', the EP sets the tone with a punchy kick, crisp high-end percussion and a driving bassline, while smeared textures and subtle effects create depth within a minimal framework. 'Yearly' intensifies the approach, with sharper hi-hats and layered mid percussion pushing the energy forward, maintaining a hypnotic yet no-frills momentum.'Hourly' keeps the focus on rhythm, pairing dense percussion work with a bouncing bassline that locks into a steady groove, while occasional pad accents add flashes of brightness.

On the second half, 'Real' strips things back, centering around a rolling bassline and sparse percussion, with shimmering synth touches guiding the track into deeper territory. 'Everlasting' reintroduces a tougher edge, driven by a hard-hitting kick and a bouncing low end, while eerie synth elements add a darker tone. Closing the EP, Beau Didier, a rising force in the Techno scene and fellow Frenzy collective member, reshapes 'Everlasting' into a smoother, more low-end focused roller. Known for his heavy basslines and powerful rhythms, Didier brings the bassline to the forefront, softens the percussion and introduces vocal chops that expand the atmosphere.

On his debut EP on Regal's Backspin Records, the 8th release of the newborn imprint, Isaiahpresents a focused collection of percussive techno tools built for diverse sets, offering tracks for every moment while maintaining a consistent, groove-driven identity throughout.
