Crosstown Rebels celebrate their fifteenth year with their monumental 200th release. American DJ and producer Arthur Baker reunites with Rockers Revenge for the first time in thirty years. To complete the package, dance music heavyweights Francois K and Michael Mayer take on remix duties.

On A Mission is exactly that, 'a mission of love, a mission of peace'. The positive vocals hark back to those of early 90s house tracks, which created unity through music and clubbing. The rhythmic beat of the drum is determined, as percussive layers build and the vocals bleed into the synths. Francois K provides two variations of the track. His remix features more prominent drumbeats driven by a growling bassline. On his rockers dub version, Francois goes all out and dubs us into the stratosphere. Up next is the Michael Mayer remix, with a more electronic take on the original with driving synths and a whirring, throbbing bass-line.

Created in 1982, Rockers Revenge was the brainchild of Arthur Baker and Donnie Calvin. Donnie provided lead vocals with Baker's wife, Tina B, Dwight Hawkes and Adrienne Dupree Johnson on backing vocals. Their most prominent track, Walking On Sunshine, was a post-disco hit reaching #1 in the US dance charts and #4 in the UK charts.

Three years ago Baker and Hawkes reconnected through social media with Baker sending through his original Mission idea. Baker is known for his work with hip hop artists like Afrika Bambaataa, Planet Patrol, and New Order whilst also remixing the Pet Shop Boys' 1986 hit In The Night. Fast forward to 2018 and the group performed a monumental live show at Get Lost Miami, and are currently in the studio working on new material. This Summer they will shoot a new documentary and perform live at various events.

Glaswegian House don Tiptoes offers up some absolute belters for his Record Business EP which chalks up his 3rd appearance on the Slothboogie label. The SB crew have been gagging to release these tracks ever since he dropped early demos at one of their infamous 24-hour parties at Sisyphos, Berlin that caused a mad rush to the booth and demands for track IDs!

The title track ‘Record Business’ is a peak time filtered House bomb that has been causing mayhem in sets over the past year… an absolute ear worm! 'Call Me' is another juicy slab of HOUSE that features looped up Motown licks, Jackin’ brass stabs and someone who is not very happy that Tiptoes hasn’t been returning her calls! Finishing off the A side is ‘Food’; the very essence of a ‘Deep House Roller’. Hypnotic tonal loops cycle over tribal drums which are guaranteed to lock any dance floor into a trance.

On the flip you’ll find Tiptoes dimming the lights and getting smokey as he explores his deeper side. ‘Brothers & Sisters’ supplies deep and hazy head nodding beats with clever MPC chops, blissed out keys and spoken word arrangements. ‘It’s Only Love’ sees Tiptoes bringing his motor city influences to the fore with looped up soul snippets, breathy KDJ inspired vocals, thumping lo-slung beats and chopped up string sections worthy of any car wash.

Soul Brother Records present two rare Scepter/Wand disco classics on one limited edition 12” single for Record Store Day Bobby Moore was a singer, musician and bandleader from New Orleans. He worked as a writer and arranger from the 1960s to 1980s, “(Call Me Your) Anything Man” one of only a handful of solo 7” single releases. The 12” version has never been commercially released before, it’s prior existence in this format has only been on acetate. Legend has it that the one acetate was cut at the time because when Tom Moulton mastered the record in 1975, the studio had run out of 7” parts so made it a 12”. The quality sounded so good the 12” single was born!
Sweet Music were the vocal trio who sang background vocals with KC & The Sunshine Band. This is one of the few records ever remixed by West End legend Mel Cheren.

The mysterious Kayroy appears on his second Whiskey Disco record bringing the heat by way of sampladelic dancefloor collages packed with funk and a slight left-of-center aesthetic. 'Like Damn!' and the titular, 'Pavlova Casanova', are both hands-up, disco gaiety that will rip the heart of your chest.

Detroit producer Norm Talley shares his debut album, Norm-A-Lise' on FXHE Records. Having started his career when disco was king, Talley's real life influences over his 25+ year career have included the originations of house through various iterations. His reference points as one of the original members of the West 6 Mile Detroit crew and his dedication to his Analog only studio position him as one of the more dynamic Detroit artists who's finally taking the time to release a complete project for his long awaiting fans. The album features 14 original tracks with influences of disco, house, and beyond taking his signature infectious style deeper. On top of all of that, the album includes a track written by FXHE label boss Omar S aka Alex Smith featuring L 'Renee.

With the last slice of 10” action on the Make A Dance sub label coming in at 136bpm the guys thought they would slow things down a little and offer up two versions of a boogie classic.

The A side ‘Body II Body’ is a straight dance floor edit, beefed up and chugged out for maximum dancing effect.

On the flip ‘Body II Dub’ the boys take things sub 95bpm working with horn player Freddy Wordsworth who provides a Flugelhorn overdub, that combined with 303 acid flecks takes the track in a new tripped out direction.

Vibes come in three flavors: Sunsplash has the feel of summer heat, heavy synth bass and bouncing leads from New York to Negril.

Original Vibe adds sharp synths over an electro bassline á la Freeez and Body rounds off with a smoother soul vibe.

Reel People Music are excited to present a limited edition 7” Vinyl release of the Opolopo remixes of Mothers Favorite Child & Saeeda Wright’s “Purple Funk, a tribute to the legendary Prince. Of course it had to be pressed on a stunning translucent purple disc !

Music producer and songwriter Paris Toon, founder of Mothers Favorite Child, has teamed up with the ever so soulful vocalist Saeeda Wright for this updated version of Purple Funk. Saeeda Wright who previously performed and recorded with PRINCE adds delightful new layers of depth and nuance with her stylish vocals whilst the one and only Swedish fire starter Opolopo steps forward in real style to deliver his classic bounce to a remix that is set to shake global dancefloors for many a year to come.

Dave Lee presents an EP of brand new slap bass heavy tracks for this exclusive vinyl release. Slapping the bass string hard with the thumb to create a twanging sound is a technique developed by Sly & the Family Stone’s Larry Graham in the early 70s. It’s been used by the likes of Stanley Clarke, Mark King, Marcus Miller and the worlds greatest bass players ever since. All the tracks on the Slap Around The Bass EP feature the legendary UK bassist Julian Crampton (Incognito, Down to the Bone, Sunburst Band) who delivers some serious Slap, Pop and Funk to the proceedings.

From the opening Earth Wind and Fire esque ‘Magnificent Mango’ by The Sunburst Band featuring Xan Blacq, through to Bah Samba’s conscious lyrics, Brit funk style ‘Save Our Freedom’ and finishing off with the boogie synth fuellee ‘In the Mood’ by Foreal People the whole EP is laced with killer live bass lines.

Expect some serious air slap bass moments on the dancefloor.

The ultimate sun-kissed feel-good anthem, Carly Simon’s ‘Why’ produced by none other than Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers sees a much welcomed 12 inch reissue. Originally recorded for the film Soup for One in 1982, though the movie flopped the soundtrack was a success and ‘Why’ became a classic by anyone’s standards - hitting number 10 in the UK charts and staying in them for 18 weeks.

If you were to ask for a defining Habibi Funk track, there are a few that come to mind: from Fadoul’s “Sid Redad,” Dalton’s “Soul Brother” to Ahmed Malek’s “Omar Gatlato.” However, none are as widely connected with us at this point as Hamid Al Shaeri’s “Ayonha.” We heard the track for the first time when we were working on selecting tracks for your first compilation and we instantly loved it. We obviously had heard of Hamid El Shaeri’s music before, but only material from his Al Jeel phase when he was already the full-blown
superstar he is now.

Listening to his releases from the early 1980’s opened a whole new door for us. At the time, Hamid had just left Libya to pursue his career in Egypt via a detour in London, where he recorded his first album. Hamid’s distinct sound of the sound is quintessentially reliant on heavy synths and so it was particularly important to purchase these synths in a timely manner. “Whenever a new one synthesizer would come out, we would have to buy it immediately, otherwise someone else would get their hands on that sound.” London also played an important role for Hamid as a musical epicenter.

He fondly reminisces about the many live shows he attended there, including some of the biggest international musicians like Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson. After returning to Cairo where he also recorded his following albums, he connected with SLAM! for the
release of his debut, laying the foundation of a collaboration that lasted for 5 albums. Luckily, we were able to connect with Hamid through our friend Youssra El Hawary, whose extensive network has opened many doors for us within the Egyptian music scene. We met Hamid for the first time probably in 2016 at his office / rehearsal studio in the outskirts Cairo. We were expecting a larger-than-life
character in-line with his status as a certified superstar, yet the actual person turned out to be very approachable and super easy to connect with. He liked the idea of an effort to amplify his early works again,
which, when originally released, were far from an economic success.

While he was down to assist with an interview and his blessing for the project he also told us that for any license we needed to speak with the original label SLAM! who released these songs, still held the rights and also remained in business over the decades though they didn’t actively release any new music. Hany Sabet had started SLAM! records in the early 1980s and focused on cassette tape releases, the
format that expedited the success of a new generation of record labels in Egypt. By the mid 1980’s, SLAM! had become one of the most successful and economically dominant record labels in Egypt, with Hamid El Shaeri being just one of their key artists, alongside Mohamed Mounir, Hanan, Hakim, Mustafa Amar and many more. Luckily, Hany Sabet turned out to be a friend of our colleague Malak Makar’s father, which probably helped to warm him to the idea of licen- sing “Ayonha” to this - in the scale of his world - tiny label
from Germany. Eventually “Ayonha” ended up becoming a widely successful release and either Hany or we brought up the idea of a full album dedicated to Hamid El Shaeri’s work on SLAM!.


"Maktoub Aleina” is the first single and will be released January 14th. Following the massive success of "Ayonha,” “Maktoub Aleina” is another mid-tempo groover with a beautiful, synth-forward melody, that brings together a lovely combination of soul, disco and Arabic pop music of the highest order, giving a taste of full album. The second single, “Yekfini Nesma Sotak” will be released January 28th and combines Hamid’s unique formula of soul and pop, held together by a catchy synth melody. “Yekfini Nesma Sotak” picks up the
pace a bit, making the uplifting mood of the track even more powerful. Third single, arriving February 11th, is “Dari Demou’ek,” one of the stand out tracks of Hamid’s early recordings done for SLAM! in the early 1980s. Dominated by a disco infused bassline, the track offers a lot of space of the funky production to shine while Hamid inserts his vocals at all the right moments. A masterpiece of disco touched by Arabic pop music.

Full album arrives February 25th. This release is dedicated to Hany Sabet, the founder of SLAM! and his wife Rosemary Jane Sabet (who
took the photos we used for the cover and the booklet), who sadly passed away during the time it took us to prepare the release.

Brothers in disco Moodena & Sartorial take the helm for the imprint's sixth outing, packing another constellation of deep feeling, classy edits.

It's evident how musically informed the label-heads are, once again mastering the art of transmuting vintage US sound palettes into contemporary dancefloor missiles for 'Tropical Disco Edits Vol.6'.

Opener, Sartorial's 'Just For You' sets a colourful scene, bringing infectious bongos tickling from below. The breakdown is a righteous, hair-raising incline, eventually plummeting you into slinky vocals and extended strings that are as emotive as they are hedonistic.

The game is in the name on 'Sweet Music', The bongos, kicks and shakers tracing out a clean, spacious groove. Nifty effects feature more than usual, bringing a raucous sense of energy to the track.

Infamous party starter Moodena takes control on the flip with the records real highlight 'Jupiter Rising', a divine gospel of modern soul, penetrated with the artist's signature emphatic drums. Piano and vocals conspire to elicit a bubbling sense of wide-eyed optimism, perfect for beating those autumnal blues.

'Boogie Monsta' closes off the release, pitching it down a couple, Moodena conjures visions of a rodeo showdown at 3am in a bourbon-drenched Texan saloon.

Guilty pleasures anyone? The infamous D.J. J.A. reworks the 1986 classic „Tausendmal Du“ by MF. Du weißt was dich glücklich macht!

Following reissues for Rush Hour & Studio Mule, Sound Of Vast present "A Love From Tokyo 1991-2003," a collection of work from Japanese artist, Hiroshi Mastui.

The album features ten tracks produced between 1991 and 2003, and includes material reissued for the first time and previously unreleased treasures from his own 'WANT YOU! Records'.

The album opens with two first-time reissues, an emotional piano house anthem, "Crazy Love," which appeared on the CD mini-album "Call You Back," released in 1991 on Japanese major label 'Alfa Music', and the breakbeat house banger "Call You Back”. The opening track soon makes you realize that Hiroshi’s music is timeless. “Little Bit Of Our Love" (1993) and “Super Love” (2003), featuring Japanese vocalist Suzi Kim, who also appears in "(Earth In) Blue" (1999), resemble that euphoria of the first golden age of House music in the 1990s. While "Love Luv Rendez-vous" (1994) and "Dancing On Mars" (2003) are direct descendants of the sounds of early Chicago House music. The bustling arrangement of the anthem track “Samba De Howa Howa" (1992) and jacking acid house track "Tsun-Ban-Tsun-Yeah" will drive even the modern-day floor to its peak. The album concludes with the long-awaited, previously unreleased "Love Me One More Time" (produced in 1993).

Professionally Hiroshi Matsui is a 'career musician' who has written and arranged countless commercial music/songs/pop songs since 1986. The tracks in this album are pure dance music that was independently produced and released spontaneously in parallel with his day job. Underground house fans are familiar that "Howa," licensed to King Street, appeared on "Sounds Of Far East Dance Music - Compilation Vol 1" (1993), along with Soichi Terada's "Sun Shower" and other tracks. His excellent works became highly sought after in the second-hand market. Alongside the reissues mentioned above and "ハウス (House) Once Upon A Time In Japan..." (2015), produced by Brawther & Alixkun, his tracks are starting to be revived on modern dancefloors.

The tracks on the compilation are heavily influenced by US House music from the same period, and also display Hiroshi’s distinct melodic sense and compositional ability composer/arranger that he developed through his musical career. It seems as if we have heard it somewhere before, but at the same time, it also sounds completely new. In other words, his work invites you to a unique musical experience, as if looking back on a parallel past, and it is through this experience that we may find LOVE - the theme of his work.

Hiroshi Matsui は1986年以降から現在に至るまで、多数のコマーシャル音楽/歌謡曲/ポップスの作編曲を行っている「職業音楽家」だ。本作に収録されている楽曲は、その職業音楽家としての活動と並行してゲリラ的に自主制作・発売されていた、ダンス・ミュージック群だ。そのうちの一つ、1992年に限定300枚プレスでリリースしていた"Samba De Howa Howa"が、King Street にライセンスされ『Sounds Of Far East Dance Music - Compilation Vol 1』(1993年) にSoichi Teradaの"Sun Shower" 等と共に収録されたことは、アンダーグラウンドなハウス・ファンの知るところだろう。彼のリリースはその内容と希少性から、中古市場でカルト的な人気を獲得。そして、先述の復刻盤やBrawther & Alixkunが監修した『ハウス Once Upon A Time In Japan...』(2015年) を経て、現代のフロアに蘇りつつあった。

本作には、初復刻となる楽曲や、これまで未公開であった自身の〈WANT YOU!! 『A Love From Tokyo 1991-2003』の楽曲では明らかに同時期のUS産ハウス作品が参照されつつも、氏の本業でも培われた作編曲家としてのメロディー・センスや構成力が発揮され、他と一線を画す個性が溢れている。どこかで聴いたことがあるようにも思えるし、全く新しい何かのようにも思える。つまり本作はパラレルな過去を顧みるかのような不思議な音楽体験の源であり、その体験にこそ、氏のハウス作品のテーマである“愛”が見出せるのかもしれない。

A collective of musicians led by Barcelona-based producer Miguel Ferre Falcon, Kokoro Disco San first appeared on the RNT radar with their 2019 Isla Fantasia release on Rocafort Records.

KDS now brings their uncanny ability to capture the mood and instrumentation of classic disco and soul with the uplifting summer anthem 'Sunshine' and the Candido-esque sonic journey 'Jungle Deep.' Rounding out the EP are two remixes of the title track by label co-head JKriv, who delivers an extended acidic exploration with his Beach Burn Mix, and a bumped up yet loving treatment of the original song with his SPF76 Mix.

The title track kicks proceedings off, a fluttering flute holding sway over a nicely retro disco/house hybrid groove, before 'Frog Business' drops the mood to a more relaxed, chilled tempo, with smooth pianos, vocal snippets and languid jazzy brass embellishing the beat. 'Juicy Brass' is the EP's proper brassfest, as well as being blessed with a bouncing bassline and percussive frills, before 'Lucky Piper' sees us off with its irresistible bassline, smooth guitar riffs and more of those jazz-inspired flutes. One for fans of the early Talking Loud or Acid Jazz releases, perhaps, although it's hard to imagine anyone with a penchant for cutting a rug being able to turn this one down.

New York City 1976 and D.C. LaRue is dancing at David Mancuso's 'The Loft' party with friends, as they get higher and the atmosphere more intense DC loudly proclaims 'These places are the new cathedrals'. This epiphany sent him straight back to his Manhattan studio where he wrote the seminal Disco anthem that is 'Cathedrals'. A classic that has lasted because of the quality of the song writing and the stunning musicianship.

These mixes (apart from Greg Wilsons Edit) are taken from the original multi tracks that DC and his crew created that hot summer of '76. Maurice Fulton takes a beautifully eccentric leftfield view that drips drama. Chicago's Jamie 3:26 jacks it up chi-style but without ever losing the soulful essence of the track.

Faith's Farley & Jarvis take a different approach choosing to loop the big hooks under some fresh 909 House beats creating what we hope will be a terrace summer anthem. Greg Wilsons edit has been a heads fave for some time but now its remastered on quality vinyl.

LA producer Blake Robin aka LUXXURY’s new full-length album finds the bassline obsessed disco addict experimenting with funk, synthpop and even (gasp!) pure instrumentals. ‘Increasingly in my most recent singles I’ve been treating vocals like instruments’ says Robin, ‘backgrounding and balancing them as sonic elements instead of centerpieces, so the listener gets lost in the groove.’ And indeed the star of these 11 songs is undoubtedly the 11 stellar basslines that ground the swirling synths and melodies as vocal fragments coolly dip in and out of the mix along.

Originally released in 1979 this single might have been another attempt at birthing an Italian starlet. “Teneramante” on the A-side is a harmlessly well written cheerful Pop oriented number one might hear in a radio of some Italian cabriolet on your way to an aperitivo gathering with some mildly well dressed friends. On the B-side things take a deeper melancholic turn with “Angela E Cosi” - the winner - a funky broken beat underlays the tempo of the track, perhaps not unlike the emotional complications nuanced in the beautiful Italian sung lyrics – recollections of romantic disillusions over a beautiful melody. The six track debut EP features a host of Melbourne’s finest musicians including Blasko (Billy Davis), Silentjay (Hiatus Kaiyote/Sampa The Great) & Horatio Luna (30/70) to name a few. The most obscure and sought after italian electronic release, but also another extraordinary 70s output from the legendary Regson Studio of Milan (remembering in 1976 "Funky Bump" and a year later "Disco Shitan", both produced by Pino Presti). The eclectic brother of Vangelis (chit> he was playing keyboards like him), helped by Yorgos Pentzikis for the "vocoder" vocals, reached the right sound for one of the craziest electronic disco song now available for for the first time on 12, containing also the unreleased instrumental version. Nikos Papathanassiou in 1976 achieving success with the disco-hit "U" by Chrisma, but Maurizio Arcieri (cousin of Pino Presti and Chrisma's leader), moved towards new-wave and punk. So for the orchestral conducting of a new cosmic-disco project titled MoreI Like It he involved Rodolfo Grieco who later produced in the emerging genre of Italo-Disco great classics like "Going Crazy" by Lily Ann."

‘Lose Control’ is arguably one of the best songs written by Miguel Migs & Lisa Shaw - released in 2011 on the album ‘Outside The Skyline’ by Salted Music in partnership with Om Records. Italian house masters Micky More & Andy Tee provide a new package with three mixes to suit all tastes via their label, Groove Culture. Side A sees the vocal mix centred around a timeless Wurlitzer groove with a delectable bassline played live and an unexpected trumpet solo in the final part, all of which beautifully compliment Shaw’s dreamy vocals.

First up on the flip, a dub version for the dancefloor featuring an infectious piano and bass groove. The package ends with the B2 a rhodespella version played by maestro Riccardo Burattini who wrote an emotional arrangement for Lisa Shaw's voice. All in all, a timeless record and a must have.

The original single from Escape From New York finally gets an official reissue. Originally released in 1983 ‘Save Our Love’ was released a year before ‘Fire in My Heart’ and sets out their highly effective fusion of New Wave, Disco, Italo and Post Punk. Featuring Jaki Graham and D.C Lee on backing vocals, the 12” also includes an instrumental mix and cult classic ‘Slow Beat’ (Dance Mix).

Escape From New York were short lived and disbanded in 1984 following the release of ‘Fire in My Heart’, ultimately buckling under the pressure of commercial expectations for their innovative brand of pop music. Fast forward to 2023 and history has been kind and these singles are now regarded as being pioneering classics.

It can take a while for an artist to find their musical voice. For Alex Andrikopoulos, it’s been a journey that’s taken the best part of two decades. Now he’s set to mark a major milestone in his transition from record store owner, label co-founder and DJ to producer with the release of his long-promised first solo album for Leng, Waving. The Greek artist first joined the Leng Records roster in the autumn of 2020 and has since gone in to release the acclaimed ‘Punta Allen’ EP for the imprint. Before that, he spent the first decade of the century running the popular Radical Sounds record shop in Athens, before refocusing on running Quantized Music with fellow DJ/producer Tolis Q and developing his DJ career, where his unique blends of disco, house and techno tracks earned him bookings at some of Europe’s most storied clubs.

Waving, which appears on the back of a handful of fine EPs for a variety of labels, is his boldest and strongest statement yet as a musician and producer. Created with a little help from guest musicians and collaborators including keyboardist Artis Boriss, bassist Brotha Gilla, percussionists Ilario Arnel and Harold Perez, pianist Luciano Ledesma and guitarist Alex Searle, the album brilliantly blurs the boundary between 21st century disco, afternoon-ready downtempo grooves, and the kind of dancefloor-minded Balearic fare that’s devilishly difficult to pigeonhole.

Fittingly, the set begins with previous single ‘Punta Allen’, an eight-minute chunk of organic dancefloor goodness which slowly unfurls before rising towards and gorgeous and joyous conclusion, and ends with the squelchy, slo-mo cosmic funk of ‘Patrol Di Caribe’, where trippy synthesizer lines, layered percussion and more tuneful style pan style lead ins catch the ear.

In between, highlights are plentiful, from the driving, piano solo-laden dub disco brilliance of ‘Down My Soul’ and the languid, sun-kissed, beach-ready downtempo grooves of ‘The Jamail Pass’, to the rubbery, pitched-down electrofunk of ‘Window Spells’ (featuring a fine lead vocal from Max Giovara, the flash-friend, dubwise Balearic funk of ‘Waving’, and the throbbing brilliance of ‘La Di Da Di’, whose crunchy Clavinet lines, fluid electric piano solos, snappy drums and pulsating, arpeggio-style bass encapsulate all that is good about the album.

The digital edition of the album also comes bundled with eight more tracks not featured on the double-vinyl LP. Featuring the same blend of expansive musicality, organic drums and dancefloor nous, this octet effectively extends the album via a string of similarly playable, club-ready and sofa-friendly tracks. Standouts include the non-stop, nu-disco-meets-house excellence of ‘Large Stacks’, Hammond-laced head-nodder ‘Take The High Road’, horizontal Balearic funk shuffler ‘Prezend’ and hazy, vocal-sporting dub disco roller ‘Angels of Rhythm’, which previously appeared on the flipside of Lex’s ‘Punta Allen’ 12”.

DJ Supermarkt came across this rare private press 7 Inch a long time ago, and since tried to locate the band to include the track on his Too Slow To Disco compilation series. After years he found bandleader Jeff Wollman, who gave TSTD permission to finally rerelease this funky space beauty for the first time on the new compilation TSTD 4.
The story could have ended here, but Jeff and DJ Supermarkt went one step further, and came up with the plan to give the track to a few selected producers for new versions/reworks. We contacted our favorite smooth space approved producers of today, and they all said “Yes” and we are super proud to now give you: The Reworks!

The Mini catalogue (dedicated to 7-inch vinyl) fits into the narrative of our masked hero as a sort of prequel, as the 'Mini' vinyl represents the 'childhood' of Apparel Wax, his life before its music started to be heard around the world. Another novelty is that the first release is double. In fact, APLWAXMINI001 and 002 will drop on the same day, both containing two tracks, one on each side. With a physical product of different size, we have also adapted the graphic design of the project, as you'll notice looking at the record. A new adventure begins in the world of the masked artist who, this time, will tell another musical story created by the now famous anonymous collective of phenomenal artists behind the project. Kampana put together arguably their hottest 7" so far, with two heavily in demand tracks from Brazilian producer Ruas, who shows his creativity, blending unique samples with live musicians.

'All the Way Down' is a monster jazzy disco-house number, with freshly recorded drums and up-front bassline, taking the groove levels off the chart on a retro soul vocal.

On the flip, 'Like You' sees Ruas digging deep to find the unmistakable voice of a true 'royal' legend hyping the crowd in a rare live interlude.
Ruas went into the studio with his crew of Brazilian musicians to record a full instrumental to blend with the vocals. The result is a jazz-heavy track that sounds like it could easily have been discovered in the artist's lost archives and will cause a riot on the dancefloor.

The imprint is home to many a DJ's favourite tracks from the '90s with a back catalogue filled with pure gold! Packed, full of dance music nuggets.

Chubby Chunks 'Testament 1' was one of those records! It had a universal appeal: played in all genres of the club night, none of the mainstream. Building all the way, the funky beats, cool riffs, acid line and piano are all layered together, flowing and fluid. It is still a great tune today having been quite different when it was released back in 1993 but always a winner!

Zambon from The Very Polish Cut-Outs have once again sought out forgotten and somewhat obscure artists whose music is in need of a revival. This time, they have chosen the duo MODFUNK, who were active in the Polish electronic music scene from 1999 to 2009. Piotr Jarecki and Martin Tigermann, two Varsovians who shared a love for the "french touch" genre that dominated dancefloors worldwide at the time, showcasing Daft Punk, Cassius, Stardust, and Bob Sinclar, were the brains behind the project.

The compilation comprises a subjective and cross-sectional selection of the ten best tracks from Modfunk's entire discography. While their music evolved over the years, they never abandoned their French-inspired sound, which is why the compilation includes tracks like "Souler" and "The Wav," which draw inspiration from Daft Punk. It also features "Love," a track sung in Polish that echoes Romanthony's work, as well as "Texmex" and "Wishes," two electropop tracks that could have been released on Ed Banger Records

Radiorama were one of the most successful Italo disco projects in the 1980s.

With hits like „Chance To Desire“, „Aliens“ and „Vampires“, the Italians conquered all European charts.
The album „Four Years After“ from 1989 is now remastered available on CD and vinyl.

There are few people across the globe, who will have not been touched by the work of Frankie Knuckles. Forever regarded as ‘The Godfather of House’ for his unrivalled contribution to the house music we know today; what started as an underground movement in Chicago has grown to international heights thanks to Frankie. His records earned him recognition on a global scale, allowing him to work with some of the globes biggest names including the likes of Diana Ross, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson.

Frankie passed away in Chicago on 31st March 2014 leaving behind one of the greatest house music legacies spanning almost four decades. Now he is commemorated by long time writing and production partner Eric Kupper. Eric, himself a seasoned DJ producer and writer, has worked on over 116 Billboard #1 Dance Records and played a pivotal role in many of Frankie’s productions. Having both worked together for many years they established themselves as ‘Director’s Cut’ from 2011 and set about producing original releases and remixes based on the classic ‘Def Mix’ sound while sharing equal credits for their creations.

Together they re-produced and re-purposed classic cuts for modern dancefloors, with reworks including tracks from Marshall Jefferson, Ashford & Simpson, Artful & Ridney and The Sunburst Band, alongside Frankie Knuckles originals. These releases have now been brought together by Eric to feature on special album called ‘The Directors Cut Collection’ on SoSure Music.

For the third volume classic cuts such as Inaya Day & Robin S. - Right Now (A Director’s Cut Master) and Marko Militano - Good People (Director’s Cut Signature Mix) are nestled alongside equally absorbing Directors Cut mixes of Vintage Lounge Orchestra covering 'Dreams' and Art Department pres. Martina Topley Bird feat. Mark Lanegan & Warpaint covering 'Crystalised'.

The Director’s Cut Collection is a fitting tribute to commemorate the seventh anniversary of Frankie’s passing whilst giving Eric a platform to tell his side of the creative story. This album is to be released in collaboration with The Frankie Knuckles Foundation who work to continuing Frankie’s legacy well into the future.
