To mark his second artist album on his own Millionhands label in July, Tee Mango teases with a fantastic second EP from it featuring remixes from Hidden Spheres (Lobster Theremin, NTS), Kiwi (Futureboogie, Optimo, Life & Death) and Hubie Davison (Regraded).

The fantastic full length finds the UK artist stretch himself and serve up a dazzling array of soul-drenched, vocal-laced songs featuring his own singing and influenced by the likes of Prince and Bon Iver, alongside awesome gyuest vox from Detroit funk legend and former Funkadelic member Amp Fiddler.

Opening up EP 2, Tee Mango serves up a fizzing and arpeggiated electronic disco track, ‘Woo Hoo’ which will undoubtedly be rocking festival tents this summer. Irishman and Leisure System man Hubie Davison then steps up to the plate with a heart-warming, tripped out and twinkling organic house mix of ‘Down Down Down’, featuring warm oaky melodies and Mango’s fragmented falsettos.

Then comes a dazzling techno-not-techno mix of ‘Woo Hoo’ from Londoner Kiwi, an associate for labels like Correspondent and Optimo Music. This superb version keeps the galloping arpeggiated feel of the original but swaps the broken beat for a straight four to dizzying effect. Following that is acclaimed Lobster Theremin, Rhythm Section and NTS regular Hidden Spheres with a hip house basement re-rub of ‘Down Down Down’ with more of Tee Mango’s fragmented falsetto over a beat Prince would be proud of.

Finally, Tee Mango himself then steps out with the excellent balearic skit ‘Don’t Worry About the Rain’ with deliciously soothing Rhodes and synth whines topped with Mango’s vocals imploring us to ignore the weather.

This is a top package that bristles with brilliant club sounds for a range of different settings and more than whets the whistle for the forthcoming album.

It was 2010 when Massimiliano Pagliara and Discodromo got together and started working on Costellazione K78. It's finally time to reveal this piece of italo-cosmic beauty landing on Cocktail d'Amore Music. The spaceship starts off and a vocoder announces the destination. In the middle of the track there is an interference...Is that a hole Oh right they are out of it! Going higher, higher...higher through space-time.
B side is taken by a dub version where drums play the main role. Everything is condensing together, it feels like connection is lost, but the bass line comes in and takes control. Destination reached, time to celebrate. Thank you guys for the efxapella, we'll all do good use of it. Greetings from planet Earth!

In 1982 Atmosfear hit their prime with the release of this underground

classic, ‘Xtra Special’. A gear switch from their jazz-funk origins, this boogie

track featuring the sublime vocals of Beverley Skeete, is a prime example of an

innovative band at their peak.

Especial is delighted to present Phil Gerus to the label, with his personal ode to relationships, Still Blind. After acclaimed boogie, disco and italo tinged 12"s for the likes of Public Release, Superior Elevation, Leng and Sonar Kollektiv, here we present Gerus' first solo full vocal performance - eschewing samples as a natural development.

Progressing confidently from his early excursions, Still Blind finds funk'd rhodes, Prophet 5 synth, guitar, slap bass and Linn drum all wrapped around a killer pots'n'pans groove, then sent to vintage cassette. His heartfelt vocal, give a knowing, memory inducing cry that marries past and present as some Downtown NYC meets Europop, discoidiant dream.

In best presenting Gerus' first vox it seemed natural to ask Especial family member, friend and confidant Mr Philip Lauer to once again get behind the mixing desk. Still Blind is just made for his melodic wunder; with an increasing penchant for all things synth-pop, his ubiquitous arpeggio heavy but beautiful tight, rising hats, nuanced dub programming, hands high strings, plus a way with melody that brings the reversion to dance floor transcendence.

The 80s bromance complete, the flip is handed on a dubplate(r) to label remixer, designer and visionary, Jamie Paton to turn out another of his deep, drudge, dub outs. Coming as both vocal remix and dub - again conjoined in "discomix" style for the brave (dead) heads - this is Paton at his brooding, echo laden best. Rising and falling, Gerus' refrain acting as dub melody around symphonic heavy bass. Tune in and dub out.

The EP includes the much loved Te Faz Bem which became a Balearic classic in Ibiza last summer after DJ Harvey regularly played it at his residency 'Mercury Rising' at Pikes . This caught the attention of Pete Tong who played it on his BBC Radio 1 show multiple times.Deixa Música Tocar (Let The Music Play) on the B side is the second single (currently unreleased) and carries on the same classic Balearic vibe from Te Faz Bem.
Super strong remixes from Riccio & Kenneth Bager complete the 12' nicely. The single representing 'the other side of Ibiza' is receiving strong support from Pete Tong, DJ Harvey, Ruf Dug, Peaking Lights, Alfredo, DJ Pippi, Phli Mison, Jon Sa Trinxa and other Balearic inspired DJs and echoes a renewed interest in Latin and Brazilian inspired sounds across the beach bars of the Mediterranean in summer 2017. Copenema (Copenama = Copenhagen Vs Ipanema) is a collaborative project between artists from Denmark and Brazil with the album partly recorded in the living room of Brazilian star Rodrigo Sha in Rio Di Janeiro, and finished at the legendary Volmers studio in Copenhagen.

Copenema is the latest incarnation of Music For Dreams' label boss Kenneth Bager in collaboration with artists and friends Rodrigo Sha, Danish composer Troels Hammer and producer Thomas Schultz from Ambala. The lead single 'Te Faz Bem' was the last track recorded during the sessions and will be the first single released on Music For Dreams this autumn.

Another classic remastered Italo Disco / Cosmic Classic from Best Record Italy, originally released on Musix Records in 1982, produced by legendary Italian producer Maurizio 'Sangy' Sangineto. (Change, Armed Gang, Firefly). This one includes all the original full extended versions Including the special electronic cosmic version on the side A plus the original and instrumental version on the flip.

Echoes is the second album by the Ukrainian producer Cape Cod, released jointly by labels Vinyla Records & Kiev House.

Echoes is a comprehensive and multi-genre work in terms of sound and song creativity. On second album, dance music floats between genres, styles and mood from track to track, while Cape Cod skillfully waves the breakbeat, r'n'b of the new school, soul and hip hop into the tracks and brings his love to the disco house to the sound level.

Previously released as part of a double LP compilation with her complete output on Selector Sound and the Deep Inside You EP. However, this is the first official reissue of the Deep Inside You EP as it's on stand-alone release. Soul singer Gloria Ann Taylor has no rags to riches tale to tell. Her story is one of personal sacrifice, failed relationships, and missed opportunity. She was leading a hard knock life before being swept-up by the flash and promise of a marriage and business partnership with a successful record producer. She would be nominated for a Grammy, rub shoulders with James Brown and Bootsy Collins, and turn heads from Motown. But in the end she rejected professional singing, the music business, and the lifestyle that came with it. Thankfully for music lovers, before Gloria closed the doors on her singing career, she left us with some amazing soul songs. Deeply shaded by gospel roots, her haunting sound clearly comes from the gut. Gloria did not fake the funk.Gloria was a partial owner of the Selector Sounds label, along with her husband/producer Walter Whisenhunt (previously a right-hand man to James Brown), and her brother Leonard. They released five Gloria Taylor singles between 1971 and 1977. They also released the three-song Deep Inside You EP, under the name Gloria Ann Taylor and Walter Whisenhunt's Orchestra. In the studio Whisenhunt would work up a unique musical brew that mixed northern soul with exotic percussion and fuzzy psychedelic guitars. He moved Gloria through arange of tempos and stylings from ballads to disco. Her gritty vocal performance was set to orchestral arrangements creating a juxtaposition of grandeur and solace. The pinnacle of their collaborations has to be the jaw-droppingly epic EP version of "Love Is a Hurting Thing"; a chugging, string-laden disco track, that sounds like proto-Theo Parrish.

Moving to London, producing two sell-out records with Mall Grab’s Steel City Dance Discs, and nailing mixes for Rinse, NTS and Boiler Room, made 2018 a landmark year for Australian-born producer and DJ Loods. Following his extensive touring across the UK and Europe, Loods has been working away in the studio to produce his Classic Music Company debut. This two-track 12” marks an impressive label outing for the artist, as title track ‘Walking Away’ offers a summer-ready sound with soft keys, a soulful vocal sample and lilting beat. On the B-side is the deep and grooving ‘The Feeling’, where the burgeoning artist presents another track primed for summer dancefloors with this disco house number.

Remix of The Bucketheads classic is final release in Positiva's 25th anniversary seriesCelebrating 25 years at the summit of the dance music industry, iconic label Positiva Records is proud to unveil the final release of the Positiva 25 series, EJECA's extended 'Got Myself Together' rework.

First made famous by The Bucketheads in 1995, the track quickly cemented a reputation as a staple hit of many 90s clubbers lives. Reimagined with a 2019 touch by EJECA (aka Garry McCartney), the producer laces his own mix with a series of rhythmic bass-line grooves.

With Pete Tong supporting EJECA's previous productions on his BBC Radio 1 show, the Irish producer is famed for his dynamic blend of house and techno, releasing on esteemed labels such as Sasha's Last Night on Earth imprint, KMS and Defected.

Launching in 1993, Positiva's back-catalogue includes many of the biggest hits of the past quarter-century, with the imprint achieving a staggering 14 UK #1 singles. Marking the celebration in 2018 with a range of special events, Positiva hosted parties at a range of venues including legendary Ibiza venue Cafe Mambo and London's Ministry of Sound club. The label also released a complete Positiva 25 box-set to commemorate the occasion, providing party goers with a nostalgic trip down memory lane thanks to 6 discs of the imprint's classic anthems.

With EJECA's slick production set to drop on 12th April, the track is the final release from the Positiva 25 catalogue, and follows re-imaginations from the likes of Floorplan, Kideko, Yotto, Mele, Dash Berlin, Eats Everything and Shadow Child.

Vive La Musique burst onto the scene last year with the hugely successful "Tabala Mouv". For the follow-up, they present two songs from prolific Congolese talent, Sammy Massamba, taken from his cult self-released album "1990 - Beni Soit Ton Nom". Title track "Azali" immediately hooks you in with its mysterious intro, laden with early 90s keyboards and drum machine. Sammy's funk guitar and anthemic vocal lines turn this unique composition into an infectious afro-pop masterpiece. Label founder Aroop Roy steps up with a customary edit, extending the arrangement and giving the drums and mix a modern-club touch. Sammy describes the second track, "Birika", as a mix of Congolese Rumba, Afrobeat. and Reggae. A mid-tempo bass and guitar groove form the backdrop for Sammy's powerful vocals. An exquisite rumba guitar line completes another high class composition.

Marius Circus retuns to his own In The Garden label with his cover version of Lindstrom’s
‘I Feel Space’, backed with an Andrew Weatherall remix.
Norway’s Marius Circus has been steadily building stream over the past few years, starting out
with a release on Prins Thomas’ Full Pupp in 2011 before 2017 saw him launch his own In The
Garden label, picking up support on releases from the likes of Perel, Axel Boman, Jennifer
Cardini and Ivan Smagghe amongst others.
Here though we see Marius deliver his interpretation of fellow Norwegian friend Lindstrom’s
classic ‘I Feel Space’, replaying and programming all the parts of the original whilst adding his
own twist via squelching 303 licks, choppy bass hits and crunchy drums.
Andrew Weatherall’s remix follows next, with gritty low-slung drums, spiralling atmospherics and
winding 303 licks driving the composition whilst the cinematic melodies of the original further fuel the
murky, hypnotic groove.

Leoparden's first appearance is a groovy 45 featuring the soulful uplifting 'Boliglan', and the funky moog jam 'Rist Skjelettet'.

Bonnie & Klein 'Ocean Leap' taken from the Ocean Leap EP
There's a deeper and dreamier feel to the 'Ocean Leap' track, whose bubbly melodic motifs and synthesizer panpipe flourishes offer subtle nods towards 1980's Greek new age electronic composers such as Vangelis Katsoulis amd Dimitris Petsatakis.
Bonnie & Klein's synthesizer-heavy melodiousness comes accompanied by dub disco strength bass and undulating, off-kilter drums, but retains the rush-inducing bliss associated with the pioneering work of their Greek predecessors.

AA is given up to the 10 minute + track from Mirage: 'Endless Ocean' taken from their Reflections of the Sun EP.

'Endless Ocean' is a slowly building masterpiece. After a hushed, atmospheric opening, the track bubbles away on waves of hazy bongo beats, lapping water sounds and seductive chords before rushing skywards in a swarming swirl of trance-style synthesizer lead lines, echoing electronics and picturesque piano motifs.

The eight chapter of the infamous Slow Motion Compilation series, “Italian Dance Wave Disco Otto”, has quite some hidden gems to be discovered. Beginning with a track from Marcello Giordani DJ (half of the duo Marvin & Guy), that expresses a perfect Italian melancholic sunset (as the title also states), energetic, strong, but always poetic. Always following that "beachy" vibes we find The Caribbean House, serving a track that could last a century, and we would never mind. Electro hints mixing with deep and balearic vibes: ears glued to the headphones. Moreover, we have again Slow Motion queen, System Olympia with a track that could make even nuns sweat on the dancefloor: beats and bass to die for. To close this chapter, you can pamper your ears with a angry balearic track from Gallo, not suited for the more weak hearts, that’s for sure.

Influenced by early 90s hip-hop's use of samples Jesse Bru's sounds pay homage to older traditions in music and come correct as classy soulful emissions.

Like the big bang, 'Science is Science' launches faster than you think right into a proper disco number, and 'Bassment Dweller' is a lovely sunny day soul-jam with a thuddy kick for all the sub-huggin bassment dwellers.

Nashville's dusty funkateers Magic In Threes return to RNT Reserve with a triptych of low-strung grooves, each complimented by a superlative remix. Chupa Cabra, a sweet soulful joint, is reimagined as a devilishly pulsating and funky burner by RNT mainstays FOUK on their remix. Parisian Patchworks takes the 70s-cop-show funk of Work Tapes straight to Nigeria with a beautifully crafted highlife remix. Finally there's Come On Down, reminiscent of classic Donald Byrd in the Larry Mizell days, which is beefed up and readied for the dance floor by analog wizard Lay-Far. A lovely package for listening, or bumping!

Producer and DJ O’Flynn has announced his new 12” single, ‘Sunspear’, to be released on 3rd May 2019 alongside previous single ‘Tru Dancing’ on Silver Bear Recordings.

His latest outing follows a self-released 12” on his newly incepted imprint Hundred Flowers earlier this year, as well as singles on Blip Discs and Ninja Tune.

With his new single he continues to evolve his signature style: the breezy Sunspear swirls with a euphoric world music sample and heated percussive energy, whilst peaktime weapon B side Tru Dancing is a horn-infused disco-house gem.

O’Flynn says "I wanted to make something for the summer dancefloor that people could have fun to. It was about taking the sample and recontextualising it to make something more modern whilst keeping the original feel, adding additional percussion to up the energy.”

Mokadelic - Doomed to Live is the theme tune to the hit Sky original series Gomorra. In celebration of the enchanting classic, Crosstown Rebels commissioned Daniele Baldelli & Marco Dionigi, who produce two stunning ‘Nu Disco’ and ‘Dub’ remixes and Davide Squillace, who provides the equally impressive ‘Ethnik’ remix.

Based on the acclaimed book of the Neapolitan writer Roberto Saviano, Gomorra, is focused on the fierce Neapolitan crime organization, depicting street-level crime and its hierarchical organization from the pavement, all the way up to regional government offices. The original theme tune played a significant part in the success of the show and was quickly commissioned to be remixed. The end result of which is a stunning release featuring a selection of Italy’s seminal artists, who each represent a different aspect of the country’s long-standing affiliation to club music and culture.

Baldelli and Dionigi’s Nu Disco remix combines cosmic synth stabs alongside otherworldly pads to form a meaningful astral cut, whilst the duos Dub mix features swinging drum solos and an infectious wooing vocal throughout. Davide Squillace’s Ethnik remix of Doomed to Live is a tribal fashion, as hollow drums pave the way for a soothing, emotionally charged piano key that runs alongside shimmering Maraca sounds.

Daniele Baldelli is a veteran of the scene and considered by many to be the pioneer of Cosmic Disco, a sound that first came about during his club residencies at Italy’s Cosmic and Baia Degli Angeli. On top of this, Baldelli’s collaborator Marco Dionigi held a residency at Verona’s Alter Ego club for twenty years. Born in Italy’s Siena, it was a trip to London that ignited Davide Squillace’s passion for electronic music. The Italian native debuted as a Circoloco resident in 2007, and has founded multiple labels since, including Sketch, Hideout and Titbit.

Manchester's Yadava steps up to the plate for the next installment of the High Praise Edits series. A member of the cities infamous party collective So Flute collective, Yadava has steadily been making a name for himself as a incredible selector with productions to match (including recent release on the likes of Church and Banoffee Pies records). He also holds down the 'Expansions' show on NTS Radio alongside co-host Contours.

With his incredible knack for weaving spiritual, soulful and uplifting energies throughout his music, it's no wonder we had to get him on board for High Praise Edits Vol IV.

Having hallmarked their success through their ability to showcase the hottest talents in dance music, whilst being renowned for curating some of the finest compilations over the years, London's finest party collective, Future Disco now offers a warm welcome to Gimbrère to the imprint. The young Dutchman steps up to the plate with his heavy weighted disco weapon, 'A Thing', seeing AVA regular Jordan on the remix duty.

Kicking things off, Gimbrère teases with a series of sweet melodic disco grooves under a booming range of 808 kicks, slowly sweeping off the filters to let the passionate vocal howls let loose and tear through the speakers. Coupled with thunderous crashes and well deserved breakdowns, this track is without a doubt some real peak time business from the flying Dutchman.

On the flipside, Jordan lays one down for the early hours, switching up the beat into a trashy hi-hat affair, making room for a wobbly old school bass and synthline to playfully glide along with the sam-ple hooks. Two completely different, yet equally as satisfying cuts, rounding off what is yet again an-other quality release from the Future Disco crew.

Faze Action return with Zeke Manyika to present "Kubatana", which aptly means "Together" in Zeke's native Shona. This second release, in a series of four 12"s, features live horns and flute with the lead track taking influences from the late 80s South African Proto House sound. The result being an uplifting slice of original African House for the modern dance floor.

Alex ‘Kiwi’ Warren’s passion for music has been a fire that has long burned within. With acclaimed releases on Disco Halal, Optimo and others, Kiwi’s work has earned him a wealth of support from some of the scenes biggest names such as Andrew Weatherall, DJ Harvey and Gerd Janson. He now joins Edinburgh’s Paradise Palms for the latest instalment of their highly regarded 7” series which has previously seen groovy, off-beatofferings from Tom Blip and Justin Robertson.

You Want Her To is a playful, low slung stomper featuring a slowed-down House beat, pads and a catchy oddball chant from Warren himself. Peeling Oranges ups the NRG and uses an Italo-strength arpeggiated bassline to great effect, resulting in a peak time electronic Disco smash. Both tracks feature alternative 7” and digital mixes.

Gianni Marchetti is one of Italy's best kept secrets...
A composer with a long and elaborate list of writing credits in both pop music and movie soundtracks.
He penned proper anthems in Italy's post-war melodic tradition. Amongst his large and varied oeuvre, in 1977-1978 he composed and recorded the original soundtrack for the skin flick 'Disposta A Tutto'
A slow-burning mix of funky clavinets, scat vocals, wah wah guitars and sultry tenor sax lines, all tied together by a distinctly Italian sensibility.

Rather than fading into obscurity, the soundtrack became a prized collector's item for DJ's and rare groove enthusiasts.
In 2019, Heristal and Danilo Braca (AKA Dany B) are very proud to present a new version of 3 tracks from the Disposta A Tutto soundtrack, edited and extended for maximum dancefloor impact.

After a short hiatus Phonica Records revives its deep-house focused Karakul imprint for Harry Wolfman's new 12" 'The Ritual'!

Having produced a dozen 12's for labels such as Dirt Crew, Omena and Outplay, Harry has been honing his craft for the best part of a decade and you can hear how his sound has refined over the past few releases, reaching new heights with this latest record for Karakul.
'SMBC' kicks the 12" off in a laid-back style with its woodwind and brass samples complimenting bright pads and drums, reminiscent of MCDE, while the mellow and sultry 'Eva' is up next.

On the flip 'Obi 1' takes things up a notch both in tempo and energy, working around a lo-fi drum loop and cunningly filtered bassline.
Strings come to the fore halfway through making this a real uplifting gem, the mixture of instrumentation bringing to mind early Pepe Bradock.

Dark Entries Editions reissue series continues with a double A-side of the first two Helen maxi singles, 'Witch' and 'Zanzibar', as a 4-song EP. Helen was an Italo disco studio project that consisted of various producers, songwriters, and vocalists from Italy in the 1980s. The first line-up included popular Italo producers Piero Cairo and Massimo Noe, known for their work with Joe Yellow, Den Harrow, Pink Project, and Dharma to name a few. They were joined by prolific Italo session vocalist Elena Ferretti. 'Witch' was originally released in 1983 on Out Records, a label distributed by Discomagic Records. Signature Linndrum and Simmons drums create the driving rhythm track while Elena's powerful vocals tell the haunted tale of a witch and her magic. In 1985 the second incarnation of Helen recorded the song 'Zanzibar'. The vocal version was written by Ennio Ronchelli (Keyboards) and Roberto Barocelli (Guitar, Bass), with singer Daniela Paratici. This line-up was heavily influenced by the 'Afro' movement made popular by DJ Beppe Loda. 'Afro' refers to the Cosmic musical trend of slower disco records featuring African drums and rhythms. The 'Afro Mix' of 'Zanzibar' was produced by DJ Daniele Losi and Roberto Lodola, with additional live hand drums and sticks by Nigerian percussionist George Aghedo. All songs have been remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The vinyl is housed in the original jacket from the ''Witch'' maxi single, featuring artwork by Elena Feretti. left of feld, slightly of kilter grooves - DAY2DAY builds and snakes itself into a bottom bass heavy House jam - Chicago style keys mould the snare and hats into an infectious work out - with an alien like hook that keeps it all slightly wobbly. The
next cut is from the super talented CARL FINLOW under carl's RANDOM FACTOR guise, a beauty in its own right ! Super tight drums and a punchy RANDOM FACTOR bassline take's this mix on a journey through many shades of electronica - as the track swells nicely with warm atmospheric pads and sprinkles of emotive keys, with an electro style hook that keep's it all swinging in Carl's trademark sound. The next mix is from LA based producer MIEKA DU FRANX. Mieka's mix strips the original
down to the bare essentials and gives it a tuf minimal feel. The last mix is from ECHO OF GLORY, which see's Echo take the track on a Acid tinged work out - adding
dubbed out vocals and super subbed out bass.

Following on the heels of the hugely successful Joaquin Joe Claussell Edits & Overdubs Lenny Williams Changes 12” comes another soulful disco 12” monster taken from the eagerly awaited forthcoming Joaquin Joe Clausell’s Edits & Overdubs
Part 2 Double CD + Limited 7” Vinyl coming September 2019. Served up this Nme is another dope Joaquin Joe Claussell Edit & Overdub of the not overly played soulful disco classic Ntled “Come Go with Me” by Pockets. Come Go with Me is an album cut that was never releases on a 12” and is another example of album songs that were a favorite at the Claussell family’s home growing up. This is destined to be another Unofficial Edits & Overdubs Classic.

Welcome to the fourth chapter of the ELASTE series!

In this compilation I am progressing a style I am inaugurating: Vintage Futurism. The best metaphor for this genre is Charanjit Singh's 1982 album Ten Ragas to a Disco Beat in which he created a sound which mirrors, but more importantly pre-dates, the first acid house record by five years. It is no novelty record, but truly capturing the hypnotic potential of acid/house music. It became my key track for Elaste Volume 4.

Previous incarnations of Elaste have aimed to catch the spirit of the late 70's Italian Cosmic Discotheque, a place where the history of DJing was rewritten within this microcosm. For this latest instalment I was most intrigued by weird of-the-time (or 'out-of' as the case turned out to be) electronic disco, a vast genre!

Bringing together those progressive avant-garde tracks that were expanding the genres of house, disco, acid, new wave, and ultimately use Elaste as a vehicle to highlight those tracks that were ahead of their time. These legendary works ranges from 1978 to 1996, a wide spectrum of musical history, in which some of the older tracks may sound modern, and newer ones sound may sound vintage.

Many of these authentic back-to-the-aural-future moments were initial sparks for whole genres - Larry Heard´s Disco-D alias happened just before house music. Greg Wilson's 1984 project Equip was produced for a UK Electro compilation, but never made the LP, because it sounded simply too futuristic. Michael Rinder´s Gluttony can't be called Disco any more, not even Post-Disco. For Elaste Vol. 4 we have built Vintage Futurism as a home for these ultramodern mavericks. - Dompteur Mooner

Mooner stepped into the limelight as part of Zombie Nation, whose 1999 smash hit 'Kernkraft 400' was signed to DJ Hell's Gigolo label and earned worldwide chart success. As one of the most knowledgeable experts in obscure vintage electronic music, Mooner however decided to do things a little less obvious from that point on: He left Zombie Nation and founded Erkrankung durch Musique, a label dedicated to releasing left-field electronica, from techno to experimental pop, old and new. He also a highly regarded DJ, known for his unmatched record collection and bootleg edits, such as his - Girls Girls Girls' Ep that combined great 80s girl bands as extented edits, or - Greatest Hits', an hommage to dance - orientaed Rock music.

With their next carefully curated release, the Opilec Music label begins to shine a light on the roots of Italo with the reissue of an ultra rare and obscure synth Italo disco track by A. Avenue from 1984.

This is a special Record Store Day 2016 release and of course, Opilec Music has remastered the original vocal and instrumental versions and here include I-Robots reconstructions and two Flemming Dalum's reworks.

This is a track many labels wanted, but only Opilec Music have been granted official rights to this cult re-release. Originally released on Discover Records, this is the only EP

A. Avenue (aka Dario Ancona and F. Feleppa) ever put out and it now fetches high prices on Discogs. Once you hear the music, you can understand why: The lovably naive and innocent vocal version is seven minutes of cosmic and psychedelic grooves with perfectly retro melodies and pixelated chords that take you into outer space.

Mid tempo drums are full of funk and drive and the two part vocal—one crisp and clean, one filtered and dehumanised—really lend the whole thing a special robot feel that is second to none. As well as a stripped back instrumental, there is a fine I-Robots Reconstruction that is quicker and more driving.

The vocals are also more prominent, soaring up top above reflective synths and rainy xylophone style melodies. It is a real Italo disco gem that is followed by a spacious and tripped out version from Danish DJ and producer Flemming Dalum, who has been devoted to Italo all his life and works with labels like Mothball, Bordello A Parigi and Disco Modernism.

He also layers in more cowbells, punchy drums and claps that refresh it for a modern club, and buy the EP digitally and you will get a second Dalum edit that is the deepest of the lot - 100% true to the original.

This reissue will make many record collectors and Italo disco fans truly happy, and is just the start of some brilliant new projects to come.

MB DISCO IS BACK After a break. we're ready with new releases. After heavy demand, we decided to press this little gem on vinyl. It features the stellar remixes from Psychemagik.

Named after an 80s French cartoon, this single is the product of Turkish producer Alico and his shady cohort, Cagri. The tune is a straight-up salad of vintage Eurodisco with lashings of Italo dressing. Evoking the likes of 'Droid' by Mito, Vangelis and anything by Hipnosis, this laconic sprawling synth-fest is saved from total retroville by a crisp modern electro-house bounce.

Emotional Rescue returns to the Caribbean with the music of Glen Ricks and his infectious Jamaica meets Boogie goldmine that is I've Been Waiting For You.

A performer since the age of 7, Glen Ricks (born Ricketts), established a reputation for his singing range and ability to seamlessly shift from tenor to soprano, going on to sell over a million records around the world.

Having immigrated to Canada as a child, after teaming up with his first band The Fabulous Flames Ricks returned to Jamaica to create his first records. Moving effortlessly from reggae to lovers, and dancehall to soul, R&B, disco and boogie, Ricks established a successful career and he continues to perform to this day.

I've Been Waiting For You is indicative of that cross-pollination of style and sound. Released on 7" in 1983 on the short lived Seraff label, the mix of Ricks' soul voice with laid back boogie groove creates a sound full of lazy JA swing.

Now highly sought after, this special 12" reissue includes the stand out vocal and is backed with an instrumental that builds on the interplay between bass, drums, piano, guitar, keys and finally, backing vocals. To seal the deal - and in true label style - LA's rising star DJ Duckcomb presents the perfect Discomix, seamlessly cutting between both versions with some respectful dubbing in the mix.

Italian House music pioneer LTJ releases two funky edits and hosts a lush rework by Canadian heavyweight DJ and producer Eddie C on London label untitled (recs) for the second installment of the imprint's u(r)blue series. 2 sides, 2 heavyweights groovers!

LTJ has been DJing since the late 80s in his hometown of Bologna and has since then developed a cult following garnering international acclaim from his peers. His productions are notably regulars in Moodymann's tracklisting.

The opener 'Street' is an edit of 'Street Dance' by funk/disco American group Fatback band. A2 is an exhilarating rework with acid undertones of 'Black is The Color' by legendary funk guitar player Wilbert Longmire. On the B side, Eddie C goes head to head with LTJ by producing an edit of the same Longmire track fueled with his own signature deep & dreamy production.

Summer is coming sooner this year, and you can tell from the heat of the two latest releases from Slow Motion: yes ladies and gents, Italian Dance Wave Compilations are back! The first of the two, “Italian Dance Wave Disco Sette”, is here to delight you: starting from a half Italo and half Asian influenced Altieri track, killing it with a dancefloor belter that will make you sweat the night away, raving sensations guaranteed. Lukebox (Fabrizio Mammarella and Umberto Saba from the duo Loudtone) will serve you a slightly more downtempo, modular, weirdo beast that will make your head bang without you even notice: banger. Back on your turntables, is also Robotalco who is providing some proto-house extravaganza and adding some charme to the dirty, chunky beats of the compilation. Last but not least, José Manuel, delivering a touch of biting deep house and electro tribal feels to close the gap, and make us scream “hell yes”.

Who said that da new Long player must consist by Intros, Outros and Off-Tracks – that all lies in the eye of the beholder and depends on his perspective. It must be honest and has to odd pictures in the heads. DOMPE succeeded that in a perfect way. At the beginning of May, he will release his latest album named HIPPIE CRACK on his own Label JACKRUIT RECORDINGS.

HIPPIE CRACK – music is our drug – it makes us happy and gives us the chance to flee from the gray and ordinary daily routine. These 12 Tracks are highly addictively. Close your eyes, dance and time can be forgotten. Back to the roots – back to good old house music tunes, simple but not easy produced. The DOMPE Style has not to be described on more details; Again, and again full of different facets. These tracks are as always full of summer vibes und carried by lots of samples with plenty of old-school-sounds.

All tracks from the Album tell a story, can be listen to at home or also in the club. It starts with love and full of harmony, before it changes the chill mood the clubbing sounds. All in all, the complete package is very atmospheric. Like a good gig the sounds it goes harder step by step and at its best it comes to an end.

Prelude Records is easily one of THE most influential Disco labels of all time. The label released classic upon classic and launched the careers of many now influential artists and producers and engineers. Names like Francois K, Shep Pettibone, Tony Humphries and more were all intrinsic to the Prelude story. The music this label released throughout it's life has shaped modern day club culture and continues to do so....

1977 saw the release of one of Prelude's most sought after, desired and rare offerings. A 12" promo that features 2 insanely deep cuts from the labels impressive repertoire. Bill Brandon & Lorraine Johnson's split DJ promo '‎We Fell In Love While Dancing / The More I Get, The More I Want' - 2 megaton Disco bombs that will have your dancefloor in a frenzy. This essential release has changed hands for hundreds of pounds on the used market and has never been legally reissued before, there are sub-standard boots around and they sound awful. This official reissue has the full unedited versions of the tracks and has been repressed from the master sources and with the full involvement of the licensors to provide 2019's clubs with a true Disco rarity, as it was way back in '77!

Kalita's obligatory Record Store Day offering is something rather special: synth-funk visionary couple Emerson and Leora Sandidge's mythical unreleased album finally sees the light of day, following Emerson's sole private press seven-inch single release way back in 1988. Those two tunes ("Sending All My Love Out" and "Why Are You So Cold?") make the cut on this belated debut set, alongside six other previously unreleased recordings from the same sessions. Their take on electrofunk, boogie and '80s soul is colourful, soulful and synth-heavy, with the included tracks veering from up-tempo club workouts (see "Raw Deal Cocaine Kills") and fizzing dancefloor pop workouts, to sugary ballads and seductive slow jams. In other words, it's a more than tidy selection of rare and unheard gems.
