Knight Fever is the second release on Bungalo Disco. The four songs are a mixture between childhood dreams driving K.i.t.t. and a time travel from the 80s to the 20s and back – each track on its very own way.
»Taniacid« is a Neo Italo track with some spices of acid that will make you feel like driving in „Super Pursuit Mode“.
»Trust doesn’t rust« is more or likely an Italo Disco song, hard to say when it has been created. Not even Italo Brutalo himself knows it. »Knightmares« – name is title. The psychedelic track contains just two elements. Less is more. An absolutely secret weapon on the dancefloor. »Not a drop to drink« has originally been written on a very hot summer day in the mountains of Ibiza, what you might not expect due to its dark atmosphere with elements of old school electro music.

The first vinyl release of 2020 on Nang, belongs to the Parisian producer and newcomer to the label, Kelton Prima. The veteran artist has been producing and Djing since the late 80's, also releasing under the alias of D_Tekt. Prima has released on the Belgian label Disco Praline, Chicago based imprint Mathematics Recordings, Pizzico Nobel and also has contributed remixes for Thieves Like Us and Plastique de Rêve among others. Along side him on this release features Hard Ton, the Italian artist, who released previously on NANG188. The duo deliver a cover version of Culture Club's 1983 hit, Miss Me Blind. The release sticks with a retro aesthetic, yet given a modern high impact make-over and features 4 edits.

The "Miss Me Blind" original takes you you on a voyage, straight to a dance floor worthy of the infamous New Dance Show in the late 80's. The upbeat, nu-disco grooves, with Solid bass lines (that later trans into squelchy acid affair) are counter balanced with Hard Tons sublime vocals. The Vintage drum machine sequence is perfectly matched with shimmering synths and guitar riffs.

Second on the release is the The Caribbean House "Vision". This edit takes things a little deeper with a modulating bass arpeggio, that pans across the stereo field. Spliced and pitched down vocal cuts feature in this version alongside chime bell melody and pads that creates a emotional ride.

DJ Rocca, the Italian producer a Nang Records regular, delivers a rhythmic and percussive remix. This is classic Rocca style with retro drum machine programming, and a variety of smooth and silky Italo synth patches. The final edit of "Miss Me Blind" consists of Club Domani's bouncy, bass heavy club version. This upbeat and energetic remix keeping things rolling with break-downs and snare filled drops.

Ancient rites of witchcraft and wisdom are the theme for Red Laser's 2nd release of 2020, with chief sound sorcerer Kid Machine consulting the eight schools of magic to create a spellbound opus of Manctalo mystery.

Across the 8 defined classes: Divination, Abjuration, Enchantment, Necromancy, Illusion, Conjuration, Evocation & Transmutation; Kid Machine renders these archaic energies into reactive musical matter. Much like mages and hierophants have kept centuries-old traditions and processes; the studio wizardry of Kid Machine reflects the various epochs of electronic music preceding it: the wistful yearning of vintage Italo coalescing with the charged energy of Northern English dance music and crafted via a meticulously sourced array of esoteric sound tools.

Side A's 'Magico', schooled in Divination, opens the LP.
A rugged rhythmic synth line nicely tweaked and with tasty clavs it's further expanded with glassy keys and a vocal refrain reminding us of its future-predicting powers.
'Make Me Feel Alright', protecting us with Abjuration, employs both squelchy and staccato synthesizer functions to construct its impenetrable gilded fortress. Banishing its foes to far-away lands with classico leads and a chord progression steeped in Italian nostalgia.
Snappy freestyle beats, galloping arps and searing melodies enchant 'S.D.M', an alchemical hybrid of electro-disco and pulsating EBM that would surely convince plenty, previous, non-compliers to frequent the poppers-drenched dark rooms of Europe's nocturnal underbelly.

Meanwhile, channelling dark necromancy, 'You're Love' closes off disc one with some of the most authentic, Italo-inspired keyboard interchanges and spirit-raising sequences available on the album.
Next come the winds & tides of Illusion and Conjuration. 'NGAFFS's' anthemic licks emanate off the wax. Broken down to 'not giving a flying fuck', it's Kid Machine's most spine-tinglingly epic track to date; uniting all under its Tesla-like harnessing of zero-point energy. Add coital thrust and you find us physically trying to grab the holographic, multi-dimensional synth fractals from the air in front of us upon first listen!

'Muszic' continues with another grandiose Manctalo coup de grace, full of sentiment and yearning.

Inviting Evocation through smokes & strobes, 'Modera' sees amyl nitrates recklessly thrown into the cauldron, tantalizing arpeggios stroking our most erogenous zones with abandon.
Finally, 'The White Hotel', assigned: Transmutation - is a tribute to the infamous nightspot contained within Red Laser's immediate territory, and home for the crew's many spectacular parties.
It's a fitting homage as galloping analogue sequences march over sensual strings and moody chord progressions; evoking that irreplaceable feeling of being surrounded by your favourite homo sapiens in one of the most hedonistic locations on planet Earth.

Dublin based disco imprint Fatty Fatty Phonographics return with the 4th instalment of their 'Downtownsounds Classics' series, this time throwing three stone-cold classics onto one 12, all given the re-edit treatment by in house producers Pablo and Shoey.
Voiced by Leroy Burgess, with drums by hip hop legend Marley Marl and production by The Aleem Brothers, 'Release Yourself' was a huge across-the-board anthem in the clubs of NYC on its release in 1984.
The lads have superglued elements of both the vocal and dub sides together for an epic end of night take on this beloved classic.The B side features two under appreciated classics from the pen of one Billy Nichols, a man known for his work with West End Records (the Levan mixed 'Give Your Body Up To The Music') and the funky band of brothers that was BT Express.
On 'Take Me...' Nichols' hooked up with disco master Patrick Adams for an emotional, string drenched disco belter that has found favour with the likes of Dimitri from Paris, Floating Points and Hunee.While 'Dance If Off' is a wonky proto Acid-Disco trip beloved of Rahaan and Eric Duncan of Rub 'n' Tug. Insanely popular across the Maghreb, name-checked in international spy novels and beloved of music adventurers like David Byrne, Libyan superstar Ahmed Fakroun is the most astounding raï-disco-electronica pioneer you never heard of. His 1983 album, Mots D'Amour, recently reissued by PMG, is regarded as a global fusion classic. This self-titled anthology of songs from the late 70's is an altogether mellower affair. The grooves are slower and sweeter, and Fakroun's multi-instrumentalist chops on the saz, mandol and darbouka drum really come to the fore. The album includes tracks from two of Ahmed's rarest and most sought-after 7's. 'Nysan' has an almost West Coast vibe: think Ned Doheny via Benghazi. Balearic-minded collectors will love the haunting flute runs in 'Awedny', produced by Tommy Vance, and 'Njoom Al Leyel'. There's even a touch of lilting reggae on 'Falah' and 'Yu Hussad.' Multi-instrumentalist/producer extraordinaire - Flevans has been on fire the last few months. With more plays across the BBC 6Music and Radio 2 than you can count on all your limbs combined, his recent singles have proved to be a huge success on the air-waves.

Well good as that was, the fun doesn't stop there as the next instalment of remix magic has disco man of the moment Ray Mang giving the special treatment to It Just Goes (feat. Sarah Scott). He's always been a legend but his re-work of the phenomenal handclap band was THE remix of 2018 for the disco cognoscenti and he has turned in some of his very best work here.

We’re big fans of John Carpenter, errr, Johan Kaseta and we warmly recommend building on this wild bunch of late classics.

Recorded mostly as a live-jam, august 2019, Il Sogno di Carmen is the result of a solitary producer meeting a nomad musician, Viscardi & Alano Santo. A brand new friendship. From there, the duo leads us to a spontaneous and fragile vacation story that yet manages to frame, with a sometimes mischievous accuracy, the current Genevan musical spirit : experimental, sincere, hybrid and hot. “I have no idea where this will lead us. Next up on classy UK label Adventures in Paradise is a release from as yet little known Soma World, featuring the vocals of Guinean musician and singer/songwriter Falle. A sumptuously crafted Afro tinged groove builds and lifts alongside captivating vocals of Falle, as we find ourselves taken on a journey into the sun.

Ray Mang heads up remix duties with an epic Afro disco workout that takes some delightful twisting turns.

This is a Summer smasher from an outfit to keep an eye on.

OK, so the scoop, for the uninitiated is this - the Peech Boys were Larry Levan's group, we're talking early 80's NYC here, 1982 to be precise, around the height of the Paradise Garage as Larry was making the transition from superstar DJ to producer. He brought a sparse, dubbed out, narcotic late night feel to the overall sound of this record. This was a short-lived project, but the influence is still felt today, the Peech Boys DNA is inside the veins of modern dance music, as is Larry's. There is no underestimating what an impact this record had. 7+ minutes of electronic bliss, trailblazing stuff, and don't get us started on the dub. Do yourself a favour, BUY this classic if you don't own it already, you'll keep coming back to it time and time again. Guaranteed. This essential 12" is repressed here in it's original 1979 glory, an essential classic that has stood the test of time for the last 30+ years & is now available again, remastered & repressed for 2017 in conjunction with West End Records, NYC.

First off, "Manifesto Balearico" does exactly what it says: providing a blueprint of the Balearic Beat genre: thick layers of dreamy keyboards over a lavish mid-tempo groove, topped by a sparse macho voiceover and chanting sirens. With "Palmy Days" we leave the Mediterranean Sea for the ocean and the French West Indies: it's not so much Latin music, but rather sophisticated tropical new wave. On the B side we cross the U.S. of A. for some naughty Californian Hi-NRG treat, better served straight into your ear channel: "Got Headphones?". Finally we head back to Bottin's homeland and explore an Italian city well after dark. "Ok Goodnight!" Buonanotte, amiche care.

On the flip is North End's 1979 jam 'Kind of life, kind of love', boasting some serious harmonica and an almost AOR feel, the PBR version clocks in at 10+ mins of building dancefloor magic! Tweaked just right, and with a respectful nod, these 2 new versions are essential for the discerning disc jocks out there.

Berlin Duo Local Suicide and Mexican Producer Mijo join forces to deliver two stunning original works for the latest installment of Roam Recordings. Edo Kai Tora is a uptempo main time jam with a nice vocal weaved through driving electronic stylings. Ganz Falsch has an electro boogie feel with cosmic synths and a fun vocal rhythmically tying it all together.Supporting the EP are two excellent remixes from renowned artists Sascha Funke and Simple Symmetry. Sascha Funke's elegantly dark version creeps in with a hypnotic and captivating energy while Simple Symmetry moves into party mode with pop sensible guitars and heavy wonkiness perfect for picking up the vibe at any party.All four tracks are standouts on their own and together form an outstanding versatile EP and excellent addition to the Roam Recordings catalogue.

Born out of a chance encounter in 2012 that led to a lasting friendship, Rhythm Section Int'l & producer, DJ, label boss, radio host, and record store owner Ruf Dug join forces to present 'The Committee'. Sitting somewhere between fictional band and studio collaboration, the record is the first fully in-house production for Rhythm Section, recorded start to finish at their own South East London studio and featuring vocals from label founder Bradley Zero and label mate FYI Chris's Chris Watson.

Right from the studio's initial creation, Ruf Dug felt inspired by the space's unique musical identity, jumping at the opportunity to create a collaborative record there over a two week studio residency. And between his DJ residencies at Pikes, Gottwood and NTS radio the Manchester-via-Ibiza computer game freak and renowned vinyl digger found the time to meld his wide range of influences. Having been a key driving force behind Be With's Holy Grail reissue of Bô'vel's - Check 4 U , Ruffy has more than earned his stripes as a boss level Street Soul collector, pre-empting the resurgent interest in the genre, which began in the mid 80s and is still a popular sound in Manchester today. This new release draws parallels between the DIY attitude of Street Soul labels like TSR, Intrigue, Jam Today & Elite and the modus operandi of the RS studio.

A wholly synergetic work, the project's title 'The Committee' reflects the collaborative nature of this release, as Ruf Dug states: 'Authorship is a strange concept at the best of times but this genuinely is a group effort and I very much enjoyed feeling like just one piece of a larger entity - the complete opposite to my usual production experience of being all alone in my room for days at a time.' The EP also features additional production from Rhythm Section's own Mali Baden-Powell, who DJ's and produces as Z Lovecraft and comes from a background in Street Soul music, his father was also in legendary UK acid jazz collective D'Influence. In addition, the record features a dynamic range of vocalists: sultry deliveries from Natalie Wildgoose and Sienna Mustafa, a rap from her sister Nadina, and the vocal debuts of FYI Chris's Chris Watson and Bradley Zero. 'I had been joking with Bradley that he needed to be on the record somehow and he did appear, playing an egg shaker at one point, but his singing wasn't in the least bit planned... I got back from lunch, and the next thing you know he just starts singing...So I dragged him reluctantly down the corridor to the studio and that's it- now he's a pop star!'

Also playfully melding digidub, soul, chicago house and acid jazz, the release not only marks a new chapter in the development of the Rhythm Section sound, but also catalogues a crucial turning Point in Ruf Dug's musical development. Still oozing with the cheeky DIY approach that won his own label, RUF KUTZ an army of fans, this latest Collab steps things up and opens a whole new realm of possibilities for one of Manchester's favourite sons.

SIRS returns with another healthy dose of edit debauchery, dropping four more secret weapons that are perfect examples of what a good rework should be.

The tracks on Infinite Experience is Alton at his finest. 'Afro Grey' showcasing a rich and soulful house sound and on the flip 'By The Way She Moves', another sublime slice of deepness.
