Next up on Nico Stojan and Acid Pauli’s Ouïe label is the Tia EP by Cologne-based producer Jonathan Kaspar. Fitting perfectly into the label’s roster, as the 2018 predecessor Mera, this is three tracks of tricky, leftfield dance music that will appeal to the more adventurous electronic music aficionados. Lead track Tia is a brooding epic, unfolding in unexpected ways as the rougher edges give way to dreamy pads and a tight, loopy groove keeps things in motion. Bigna shares a similar aesthetic - an intricate percussive groove provides the foundation for some minimalistic synth explorations and textures. Exclusively on the vinyl release is Nea - artfully balancing dancefloor prowess with esoteric instrumentation and a minimal aesthetic. Elin rounds off the digital release, a slow burning heater with live percussion, thick bass and atmospheric pads and blasts of noise.

Luminaere wants to convey a forward-thinking approach to underground electronic music. Its aim is to host music of artists showing strong musical identity with influences ranging from minimal to deeper shades of techno and groovy electro, the key point being blending those influences to create something innovative and personal.

Luminaere is glad to introduce its first release, counting label founder Daïf and respected French producer Lowris on it. This first record is an insight to the label's will to show plurality in its sounds influences. Ever in search of the freshest and most forward thinking minimal talent, Ukrainian label Modeight returns with its 10th release. This milestone 12" sees the imprint tap Canadian beat smith ckb, who delivers an intimate and groovy affair entitled "Round-Robin". Now based in Leeds, the Canadian has spent over a decade exploring both contemporary and left field production techniques. Working meticulously to strike a healthy balance between the two that delivers on the dancefloor. ckb certainly accomplishes this across the EP, as the youngster fires up with 4 distinctive cuts that are energized by complex rhythmic elements and heady atmospheric tones. A well deserved feature for the Canadian who is a perfect addition to the Modeight family.

After a relatively long break Jaffa Surfa makes his return with a new release that is a bit more raw thus shifting the sound of Tape Hiss into the same direction. In comparison with his previous releases on labels like Bosconi Extra Virgin, All Inn Records and Houseworx he is making an effort to explore new territories with 'Psy Lance EP' while staying true to his trademark housey sound. Considering all the musical styles that Jaffa Surfa is taking inspiration from (from the soul/funk/disco trio, through all shades of house music and all the way up to techno) it doesn't come as a surprise to see him churning out productions in various styles even within one release. The rolling yet deep 'Psy Lance' complements the playful and trippy 'Bazz' nicely just as the beatless DJ-tool 'Preacha Bonus'.

The second wax on Nightflight Records contains tracks from Mystic Future (Yannick Robyns & Charlie Levan, Housewax) and Mariska Neerman (Planet E, Semantica). Derek Carr (Subwax excursions, Ferox, Craigie Knows…) shows his musical brilliantness by delivering two superb remixes. Mystic Future’s “Break The Cycle” starts with breaky beats and a trippy, deep pad building up the tension till the 4/4 beat and wobbling baseline kick in creating a dancefloor filler tune. Derek Carr proves that white men can funk: his remix of “Break The Cycle” will keep these asses moving with this hi-tech funk monster! Mariska Neerman’s “Organic Depths” shows that techno can be funky by mingling stomping beats with funky synth stabs. Derek Carr takes “Organic Depths” to a deeper level by reworking to an electrofunk killer track without losing touch with the original.

Tied is back for another vinyl only release. This time with three original grooving tracks from Sakro (Half Baked/Raum/Bon Vivant) and a deep remix by label head Max Jacobson. Universal Glory is for the dark late night hours, while Where R U and Delirium showcase Sakro’s signature sound with rolling bass lines and hypnotic grooves. Max Jacobson’s remix takes you on a deep galaxy ride while keeping some of the core elements from the original.

Sascha Dive was last spotted on Bondage-Music earlier this year with the deep hypnotic pulses of ‘Dark Night’ on ‘Bondage Games 5’. So it’s fitting he returns with ‘Detroit Sunrise’ and, as sure as day follows night, it’s every bit as deep, pulsing and hypnotic as you’d expect from the Frankfurt craftsman… 

His first full EP for the Leipzig label, we open with real talk. ‘Detroit Sunrise’ warms up with broad, swinging drums, rippling textures and a crucial spoken word sample every single one of us should consider. It sets the scene for two classic Dive deep adventures as both ‘Dub Chronicles #1’ and ‘Dub Chronicles #2’ both roll out with subtlety and understatement. Layered, absorbing and endless; timeless tools made for those deep mix moments of magic. 

Last but not least, we end on an upbeat. ‘Ghostdancer’ takes more of a sprightly, light-footed note with an upward-spiralling arpeggiated riff, gentle ebb and flow chords and a light peppering of cosmic flurries. Ghoulishly good. Like all things by Dive and Bondage-Music. Don’t get tied down, get tied up…

2014 was a busy year for Ztrl and Tape Hiss alike. We've been enjoying the support of numerous music-addicts, record collectors and DJs for which we are massively grateful. Rhadoo will release his first record in three years this November! Spanning four tracks spread across two discs, Semantics will come out through Berlin-based label Nervmusic Records. It's the Romanian producer's first EP since 2015's Zanzibar on Amphia. Overall, this will be his fifth release since 2006, not counting 2013's mix for fabric. A founding member of the (a:rpia:r) label and collective, Rhadoo is one of Romania's key artists, having helped shape the country's distinctive minimal sound. Operating a wild blend between his lebanese origins and influences and his love for slow tempo and heavy EBM tracks, Arabian Panther is a promising producer of the newcoming french electronic scene, assuming a dark anonymousness behind a keffieh he never leaves. Following his beautiful ‘Detroit Sunrise’ EP on the label last year, the inimitable Sascha Dive returns to Bondage Music once again for another deep frequency encounter.

The safe word is bass as Sascha picks up where he left us with two ‘Dub Chronicles’ tracks on the previous release. Now comes the third; a lavish, unhurried exploration ‘Dub Chronicles 3’ lights the fire with hazy, hypnotic charm and a spoken word well known to those familiar with the foundations.

What follows is a trip that grows in intensity and emotions. ‘Cornerstone’ is a beautiful 11pm track; fleet of foot in the kick department and arms aloft in the vibe department. Total elevation. ‘Ancient Tribal Drums’, meanwhile, takes us much deeper into the night. That rolling conga line will tie you up just the way Bondage likes it while the dubby echoes provide sense-tingling relief… Before the finale takes us to even dreamier heights. Living up to its name, ‘It’s A Groove’ brings the elements of the whole EP together; the dubby hypnosis, the warm, driving beats and that unique sense that you’re not quite tied into any reality while Sascha plays. My Little Dog reaches its release number 100 from the hands of the legendary German artist Sascha Dive.

The first cut of the ep is the title track "I Came to Jack", where Sascha’s music is accompanied by the vocals of one of the most representative figures in the United States scene: Robert Owens.

“I Came to Jack” is a superb Chicago house track, where the bass line blends in an incredible way with the synths, giving rise to one of those timeless songs so characteristic of Sascha. The remix is carried out by Oscar Barila (My little Dog co-owner) who teams up with the Chilean Santiago Deep to give the track a more groovy character. They skillfully use the main parts of the original song, turning it into a groove roller coaster that never stops growing and growing.

If we turn the vinyl, we find “Steve the Robot” where Sascha shows off his incredible versatility by presenting us a more metallic and hard cut, with maximum quality for those peak times moments of your sets. On remix duties, Sergio Parrado (My Little Dog co-owner) pairs with the talented Colombian artist Julian Millan to delight us with a much more melodic and hypnotic cut. It’s the perfect icing on the cake for this 100th release.

We are very pleased to bring you this fantastic collaboration between Dubphone and Patrascu that includes three stunning pieces with their Talking Machines EP. The first track is Talking Machines and it shows an amazing combination of subtle grooves working in different layers where they integrate perfectly to each other among synth and percussions, making room also to the prominent vocal phrase lines that ends up being the main element during the short breaks, where everything is surrounded by a delightful minimalistic vibe. The second track, Chaos, presents a much more underground approach and its composed mainly of a percussive low-end and several backend textures that creates an amazing atmosphere and trippy feeling, but everything created with a superb production skill set by these two fantastic producers. At last we have a Dub Mix of Talking Machines, where we can appreciate this terrific piece without the vocal lines to take advantage of the rhythmic features and grooves this track has to offer.

Sintope bosses NTFO return to Bondage-Music to their ‘Esperantza’ EP. Title cut ‘Esperantza’ sees the duo go to work, fusing rolling, crisp percussion with rich sub-bass, before ‘Uppercut’ interjects, unveiling a production packed full of swing, reinforced by robust drum licks, skipping hats and sweeping synths.

On the flip, the first vinyl only cut ‘Lux’ reveals a smooth, stripped back effort, with lush, deep pads floating effortlessly over hazy background textures, whilst the electro influenced ‘Avoid’ closing things out in fine fashion, as trickling lead lines flow amongst and intricate organic percussion patterns across seven minutes.

ÓbaidlÍ records come along the way from the heart of the desert to set the right tone with a particular style. The idea behind the label is to experiment with a wide range of sounds and textures to give it a feel of the organic sounds.

ÓbaidlÍ records are glad to present their first vinyl release ’Down the road’, a selective, four-track EP. This EP is a collaboration between two talented producers, the founder of "ÓbaidlÍ records" Bídlee and the head of "Deep in you Music” Zohki. Each track brings its unique touch and deep perception.

Leading off on Side A are tracks by Zohki, that will set you up into a deep rhythm and harmony.

Revered DJ and producer Giuseppe Scarano prepares to launch his debut EP Feel Good on his own NICEPEOPLE imprint.

A four-track offering with the dancefloor in mind, the EP opens with title track ‘Feel Good’, an understated house groover with a classic vocal sample. ‘Back Sound’ continues the theme of classic house elements as it traverses gently through melodic waters, before Chicago house legend Paul Johnson steps up to deliver an energetic remix of ‘Feel Good’. Paul Johnson, best known for 1999 chart hit ‘Get Down’, delivers an animated twist on the original with distinct synth sounds & heavy-hitting beats, whilst accentuating the original’s jacking groove. Closing the EP with ‘This Love For You’, the final track crafts an infectious house beat, concluding with a blissed-out finale.

Scarano’s musical journey began at the age of 16 when he started DJing for the first time and was quickly picked up gigs at local clubs. Influenced by Italian house music throughout his youth, he has since seen fast-rising success and shared the DJ booth with a slew of talented artists, including Matthias Tanzmann, Marco Faraone, Stefano Noferini, Joey Daniel, Ilario Alicante, Pan-Pot and wAFF, before launching NICEPEOPLE in 2018. Scarano’s Feel Good EP is the second release to premiere on the label which has hit the ground running, with seminal Dutch electro producer Orlando Voorn releasing a four-track EP Positive Vibes as the debut project earlier this year.

Having played at a variety of Italian parties and festivals including Clorophilla, Guendalina, Discorama and Heartz Festival, Scarano made his debut performance at Amsterdam Dance Event for Drone Time in 2018, further cementing his status as an artist to watch.

An emerging talent from the underground Italian music scene, Giuseppe Scarano’s debut EP is a testament to his unequivocal talent and fast-rising success.
