Taverna Tracks have tapped rising star John Dimas (One Records, La Vie En Rose) for their second release.
The first cut "Life on Mars" kicks off with some dirty swinging snares and hi hats, borrowing some influence from the late 90's.

Longtime not only home-town favorite Erobique (Carsten Mayer) sets out the stall for this release with the very special title track - 'Teknomusi', a charming, deranging and driving take on 'techno music' - quite different from his usual, rather funk driven output. Oliver Huntemann - who's contribution to the Hamburg scene (most recently via his Senso label) has been incalculable over the last couple of years, brings us 'Kiez'- a dark and moody tech house growler that gets under the skin from the very start. Remute (Denis Karimani) is no slouch in making people move either, and as owner of the Remute label has been responsible for some of the city's finest output. 'Summer Slump', which sees its vinyl premiere here, sees him lock into a techy groove and explore various audio textures and shades, while keeping things firmly rooted to the floor. 'Teufelsbrück' (Vinyl Edit) comes courtesy of the Wareika guys, (Jakob Seidensticker, Florian Schirmacher and Henrik Raabe) who's dedication to exploring the further reaches of electronic dance music always impress. Once again its time for another exclusive Vinyl Edition of one of the industries most successful independent electronic music imprints.

Deep Tech Records is well known to the underground community for the consistently delivering quality Deep & Tech productions that are widely regarded by both established and up-and-coming artist. This, their third pressing continues to follow suit to the high quality standard that label head Duky has set forth with his brand.

On this Third Vinyl Pressing and the Second Edition of the Vinyl Sampler we find yet again four intelligent, intricate, boundary pushing, original compositions exclusively produced for all you vinyl lovers by some of the labels hand chosen contributors lead once again by its mastermind.

Leading the charge in this massive collection we find first up on the A-side non other then Deep Tech Records' head honcho Duky, with 'Deep on The Block' a Vocal Deep House original production both smooth and soothing in its arrangement and production elements, a great tune to get the mood going.

Contracting the A-side we find Spanish based producer Medu, whom delivers his unique blend of spiced up Minimal in the original production 'Luv Mood' a composition where its focal point is centered around all that is rhythmic, Percussion, Bass, Vocal stabs all produced and arranged in perfect syncopation creating a perfect flowing production sprinkle a little bit of tastefully arranged and sound designed effects, the result this outstanding piece of Minimal production.

Flipping over to the B-Side we first find long time contributor to Deep Tech Records hailing from the Italian capital of Rome, Dhaze. Known for his intricate productions that blur the line between what is Deep House and what is Minimal Tech, he presents his latest concoction of Deep Groove Delight in the original 'Warm Up for The Kitchen' a strong composition with a Deep, Fat, Present bass line driving the groove and mood of the composition, supported by some subtle chords, a wide array of percussion elements, showered with some time based effects to taste adding depth and color to this dance floor banger.

Last but not least balancing the b-side, we find non other then Innocent Music's mastermind Aney F. delivering the original production entitled 'Girls On Acid.' A composition that showcases a lush female vocals arrangement layered on top of a Deep, Organic Bass line, syncopated to perfection with the percussive arrangement immediately drawing you into addictive groove.

Arapu has maintained a steady flow of releases over the past few years and he's one of the usual suspects in the underground scene. His elegant mixture of housy elements on a techno backbone gained him early support from his peers. Successful stints on labels like Memoria, Crazy Jack, Motif and MRR led him to confidently start his own outlet. Liniar debuts with a three tracker from the man himself.

Broken grooves are almost always present in Arapu's productions and Pitfall is no different. With a trippy synth that goes all the way and effected voices to go along, this track rules the night and the whole A side.

Two tracks found their way on the B side and their flavour is quite different. Escape is a pure deep house gem, and a clear indication of Arapu's soulful influence. Extremely danceable and super uplifting, this track brings the summer back. Wasting on the other hand is dark and has a dirty broken tech groove. This track may seem toolish but it's a monster when it hits.

Come on, be honest. You also have been waiting for this. For more than seven years now, the 27-year-old Frankfurter Chris Tietjen stands, like hardly any other DJ, with his Cocoon mix compilations for the sound of this label. Apart from Sven Väth, maybe... So, it was really time for Tietjen to carve his music-aesthetical biases finally into vinyl, because for the value-oriented and highly dedicated DJ, it's a matter of honour to release his tracks in the traditional EP format only. The three tracks on the '341 EP' are not least a deep bow before three of the most important protagonists of the Rhein Main House scene. 'Activ", which was composed together with Cécille producer Markus Fix celebrates a deepness that is on the one hand accented by LFO bass lines and a jazzy-sketchy lightness, but on the other hand still pushes forward at a max. With Frank Heinrich aka Reboot, Tietjen had already cooperated in 2008 for the Cocoon Ibiza pre-season mix CD 'Disco Invaders". With its flute melody lines, their co-production 'Just Happens' presents itself even slightly more organic, before Tietjen sits down in front of the TV with none other than Ricardo Villalobos. All jokes aside, 'TV Watching' combines the suggestive effect of Villalobos' unmatched sense for broken rhythmic textures with Tietjen's very precisely thumping bass dub, and reminds in his hypnotic impact almost of Villalobos' masterpiece from 1999, '808 The Bassqueen". Then, the two release you to the beach with a wistful guitar - it's summer in the city!

Permanent Affinity EP is a collaboration between label head George Paar
and Claudio Mate from Italy. A dj´s record composed of two tracks each
with it´s own style. Side A is a voyage into drone driven techno
embellished with delicate and melancholic sequenced sounds and
emblematic patters true to the label head´s take on modern techno. SIDE
B goes deep and straight into a no holds barred deep techno offering by
courtesy of Claudio Mate. A split record that is very proper for the
dance floor whether it is to open or close a session of modern
intelligent techno.

Käse Kool brings you its third installment of the Da Fromager series with four unique artists. The first track on side A comes from none other than Lyon-based producer Ortella. Having already amassed five releases on both of Dj Steaw's imprints--Steaward and Rutilance Recordings--Ortella lends his signature sound of dubby techno house to the release. A2 comes from the Melbourne native, Kid Only, a new face to the scene with a lot of potential. His track "Recovery" is a stripped-down, 4/4 tooly tune with bouncy kick & bass combination. Flipping to the other side, the next tune comes from London-based native Mikki Funk. Having built quite the reputation for himself with releases on Deep Down Slam, Made Fresh Daily, and Oli Furness's Music Is Love, Mikki's track brings some bassy '90s flavour to the release. Lastly, B2 comes from Brunbjörn (formerly know as as Brunbjrn). Having already made his debut on Käse Kool's first release, he is back with another swingy groove of sheer bliss.

Wound Music is back with the third chapter of the only vinyl series. From the collaboration with Bartolomeo, Cocorico dj resident, the Italian label is glad to present Bear in Black Ep feat. remixes by Julien Sandre & Alex Kennon. 4 killer tracks full of house and techno items. Tip!

Our second vinyl release comes from Berlin based DJ and producer Just_Me. 3 solid original tracks and a very special remix by Paul Mad that take us through Deep, Tech, Minimal and Romanian broken beats.

After last year's second part, the third contribution of the - Vinyl Only Edits' series is curating a wonderful showcase of the diverse artists on BPitch Control. Besides Joy Wellboy, Furfriend, Snuff Crew and Cesare vs. Disorder & Dave Vega put hands on their own tracks again.

After his Tension Dub Version, Kiki roughens the single - Before The Sunrise' by Joy Wellboy with a dubby bassline, oldschool-driven percussion and a housy attitude, without neglecting the poppy face of the original. For their Vinyl Techno Remix of - Mindless', Cesare vs Disorder & Dave Vega remain faithful with their menacing mood, even though the kick drum not turning out as a beast, but as a poignant device to gently set the dancefloor in motion. Especially the morbid strikes in the background give an idea of ominous evil. For the Extended Version of - Walk With It', the duo Furfriend not only stretch the analogue charm, but swing their bat with a deep bass and a more dominant kick drum - a rough and inimitable style. "Tearing Me Away" by Snuff Crew is a wonderful treasure that targeted the dancefloor with the shining vocals of Kim Ann Foxman, but represents the perfect soundtrack for the sunrise as well. Their Vinyl Rework adds a bit more speed, while the chords not only retain their warmth. The acid pirouettes integrate properly to Foxman's timbre and the jagged percussion, before a veritable 303 inferno rises in front of our eyes and ears. Four tracks, four danceable gems.

In 1997 the Vienna, Austria based live act Syncmode was founded and formed by Bernd Rausch & Sascha Sadat Guscheh. Their first 2 EPs were self released between 2001-2003 and continue to play an important role in their reclusive production ethic. They continue collaborations with a close knit operation between 24seven and Breakin Stevens, which has directly triggered them to surpass the common duo and develop into a collective of changing members, which include the latest fixed members Christof Winkler and Sonny Blake. This EP is stripped down to a mix of live synthesis and heady synth-sync and machine drum trickery as it touches on past and future electronic music production techniques and solidifies these four tracks on a solid 12 Vinyl. MM Discos originally emerges from the passion of two friends who share the same fondness for records made just of vinyl, after years spent hunting, collecting and spinning them.
This is driven by the intention of bringing to light the work of talented newcomer artists.

MM Discos is born with no musical prejudices whatsoever but undoubtedly influenced by a certain mix of genres in which one can identify, among others, Disco, Synth-Pop and Italo.

Our first track is a groovy Edit, produced back-to-back by notorious Akirahawks, Capo di Tutti I capi of the Berlin scene and House Mannequin's frontman, and Enzino, responsible of his own editions at Encino's Rec. and one of the most significant representatives of the Balearic sound around the world.

The second cut is brought to you by the enigmatic MSMCI, who has masterfully deployed all his skills to put together a killer House track drizzled with soft-spoken vocals that carries the listener to an evocative world of Daiquiris, palm trees and girls in bikini.

On the B-side, Marvin & Guy coming hard after a series of successes on Hivern Discs and Young Adults, combining Synth-pop and Italo crystalising in a Nordic 80's-influenced Edit ready to rock the dance floor.

Both members have quite a unique story, with far reaching credentials. ARGY seized the spotlight with the massive 2005 hit 'Love Dose', one of the songs that defined the whole minimal house trend of the time. Although this first single focuses more on dancefloor orientated songs, Dominonation, the full length album highlights the duo's more elaborate song-writing abilities, fusing contemporary underground genres with radio friendly hooks, serving up tinges of gothic darkness with a smattering of gritty, lo-fi sensibilities. The full Dominonation album experience is planned for release later this Autumn, accompanied by a live band tour which will disclose a completely new approach on how to throw an emotionally fueled modern rave.

An eight-minute freeform jazz-minded jam that owes just as much to Bugge as it does the Belleville Three, 'You're An Orchestra In The Cosmos' is a luxurious, lolloping groove peppered with cosmic improvisation and a faraway star-gazing spoken word. It's also a discussion on the chaos of shared perception and the paradox of cosmic harmony. Sebastian explains it best...

'The cosmos guides us all. It moves us, beyond time and age, it belongs to us. We are the cosmos.

'We each look at the same molecules in an object, the same physical features on a person, the same stars in a constellation, but each of us sees these differently, each of us has a different experience. It is this experience that we need to give time to, listen to, and understand. It's only then that we can become an instrument in the orchestra of the cosmos.

'The cosmos is the greatest paradox of life. It guides us - some would say it even conducts us, but without us it does not exist. It is in this silent desolation that we, a cacophony of individuals, create the harmony of existence through our connected individual interpretations of every atom, being and thing.'

As with every project that has preceded this and the ones that will succeed it, Sebastian has invested every atom of his soul and thought into the original and his three different versions: his lean and trippy Blinkarp dub, the softer focus Rhodes version and the spacious dub hypnosis of his Wa Wu We remix. Label boss Joris Voorn has also offered his own interpretation of Mullaert's musical molecules: strapping us tightly into his euphoric rocket, he provides a deep trip into peak time nebular.

French producer Juliano delivers the next EP, entitled This Must Be...', on his own imprint That Place Records'. Fourth in line on the label, following on from releases from Visitors for Reworks, MZKBX (aka Sacha Mambo) and Love Comedy, the now Berlin-based artist gifts his very first EP to the collection. As a DJ, Juliano has spent the last 13 years honing his craft - first cutting his teeth holding down a residency at L'Ambassade, and then going on to play all over France and throughout Europe. Over a decade of digging and spinning has led Juliano to develop a refined palette and a knack for finding tunes that make the dance floor bounce. Strongly influenced by US house, 'Panaugust' is a real dance floor killer with its never ending synth. The more emotional 'Anthem For A Friend' is a real tribute, drawing inspiration from Chicago and Detroit such as 'The Real Mess' with its special Rhythm & Blues vibe. Finally, 'Cupid Mess' brings a touch of Japanese mood, evoking images of an early-morning rising sun thanks to the classic Juno6 sound. Juliano's ethos is that music should stay fun - preferring to keep things simple, but always real. Watch out for this one.

Nowadays Luca Torre from Highgrade Records is one of the most requested names in Berlin (Panorama Bar, Club Der Visionäre): his track on A side is a sweetly trip under Minimal/Deep House domain. This newly inspired project has also been launched as a partnership with hometown friends - Nitin and former Art Department band-mate Kenny Glasgow in support of an issue very close to their hearts - animal cruelty. White has recently begun work on MAAC (Music Against Animal Cruelty), a charity project started with long time friend and Pulse Radio founder Wade Cawood. The charity will serve as a fundraising initiative with plans to galvanize the support of the electronic music industry and to help raise money andawareness to protect african wildlife facing the threat of diminishing population or extinction. Social Experiment will serve as a non profit record label with 100% of proceeds donated to MAAC.

It's the collaboration we've all been waiting for! The careers of both Catz N Dogz and Eats Everything have been intrinsically linked since the Polish duo debuted the incredible Mr Edible via his agenda-setting 'Entrance Song' on Pets in 2011. Their relationship was compounded by dirtybird dynamics; both acts sitting on the fringes of house and techno, neither side shy of the rich taste of bass, the work of both Eats Everything and Catz N Dogz has always sat side-by-side.... After exploding onto the scene last year with the highly charged and widely acclaimed CLR debut, 'The Engine EP', Bryan Black revises his BLACKASTEROID guise to present 'Black Acid': five tracks of lab-crafted techno, and a deeply groovy entry into the Electric Deluxe stable. Whilst BLACKASTEROID is still a fairly fledgling endeavour, Black's production credentials are as rich as they are steeped. Starting out at Paisley Park Studios as a sound designer for Prince, Black proceeded to foment a passion for techno as the other half of Motor. Signed to Novamute in 2003, over the course of nearly a decade Black and his partner Olivier Grasset consolidated EBM, industrial, pop and electro fusions into four albums and a string of EPs. But it is as BLACKASTEROID that Black has come into his own as a unique and highly skilled sonic engineer, with 'Black Acid' marking further steps towards a purer, and yet boundless engagement with techno. 'This EP is about chemistry and space. I chose to focus on raw, analogue sounds. I spent a lot of time playing with white noise, static and sub bass, often layering them together and coming up with new sounds in the process.' From the EP's punchy granular title track to the meticulous disorder surrounding 'Hydrogen' and palette of alien, mechanical sounds that proliferate throughout-distinctly towards the EP's space-themed closers: 'Pressure", 'Lunar Landing' and 'Lunar Escape"-'Black Acid' is an inventive and ever intriguing record. Like some estranged and maverick alchemist, Bryan Black mixes drops of discordant home-brewed noise with plenty of infectious floor-ready rhythms to form compounds that transcend straight listening and danceable orientations. Indeed, whether an aficionado of sound or simple beat junkie, 'Black Acid' will lure you in with one and hook you with the other. Turn up the bass and dive deep into its timbres to discover the weird and wonderful vistas of BLACKASTEROID's sonic imagining.

For Volume 4, Cahoots decided to turn over the B-Side duties to two fresh Berlin artists. stevn.aint.leavn, hailing from the infamous Beste Modus crew, is a regular in the Berlin scene. His contribution 'Silk Share' is a galloping work of punchy percussive rolls and fills. This train is certainly rolling through and will be making a few quick stops along the way. stevn.aint.leavn's live sets always promise rugged beats and vibes built strictly for the club.
Our next Berlin based Cahoots cohort, Anders Hellberg closes out Volume 4 with 'Viol,' an aggressive analog anthem with driving techno influence. A hypnotic bassline carries the track through dark passages of menacing dips and drops as stuttering hat and drum patterns keep this one locked into an firm groove. Anders' continues his journey into sound with promising releases on labels including Telefonplan and Sonntag Morgen.
