The Stone Tape EP is the fourth record in Session Victim’s Pen & Paper series and sees Matthias Reiling’s first solo outing for the vinyl only imprint. Three original cuts betray Reiling’s fascination with the mystic and occult, elevating the listener’s perception and sending dancers into a spiritual and physical seance. Fellow Sorcerer Leafar Legov’s coproduction and Erobique’s enchanting Melodica on Tarot Nouveau and Ouija Dub add more layers of depth and an extra set of black magic spells to the whole. On top of that, italian beatsmith Broke One stuns everyone at Pen & Paper with his remix of the title track “Vibrate", boosting the original with an intense rhythm section and finally lighting up it’s dark path with warm and hopeful harmonies. These artists have chosen to bring to light the most intimate and profound side of a memory linked to Stefano.

The result is the DLYS vinyl, the first of a long series in which friends and artists will be able to engrave feelings and memories that Stefano left in each of them. Even those Artists who have not had the good fortune to know him and who are equally moved by his own overwhelming passion for music will be able to find space in this project.

The common thread that will unite Stefano and these Artists will be of beneficial support as part of the proceeds will be donated for research on brain tumors. DLYS01 is a tribute to life that aims to remind each of us how important it is,
despite everything, not to lose your smile. Never.

A core member of the Oberbaumbrücke family delivers a sleek label debut.
As the club’s technician, Joris Biesmans (aka Biesmans) has been an invaluable fixture at Watergate for the last five years. A true audiophile, when he’s not tuning WG’s soundsystem to perfection, he’s building modular synths and honing his studio craft.
Having recently quit his technician job to focus on making music full time, he’s a new addition to the WG agency roster and follows suits with an impressive debut EP on the label, after releases on
Correspondent, AEON and Adana Twins’ TAU. The title track ‘Electric Love’ is a chugging slice of electro,
marked by lush key progressions and an attitude-drenched vox from newcomer Idorski. Marvin & Guy Amplifier are tapped for remix duties and inject the original with a celestial melody line primed for end-ofnight moments. ‘Technician on a Mission’ is driven by a polished bassline that modulates throughout,
while 80s synths give it a retro-future stamp. ‘City Boy’ is a modern day synthwave gem, reinforcing the breadth of sound espoused by Watergate Records.

If someone would have told us in 1999, when we put together TOTAL 1 that this would turn into one of the longest standing compilation series in techno world we would have laughed out loud. But here we are – in the year 2020 which will probably go down in history as the most difficult period ever for club culture. But we won’t stop doing what we’re doing. Music is our oxygen. We’ll dance together soon again.

The TOTAL series has always been like KOMPAKT’s yearbook and to say it with the late Frank Sinatra: It was a very good year. Our family of artists delivered a strong heterogeneous mix of uplifting sounds, from the lush reveries of ROBAG WRUHME and SOELA to the stark primetime bangers of MARC ROMBOY or ANNA & KITTIN and everything in between. Notable new entries to our crew are the Londoner KIWI with his wonderfully careless “Hello Echo” that picks up the camp disco vibes Justus Köhncke made a staple in our repertoire. Amsterdam’s DAVID DOUGLAS delivers an appetizer for a full course meal. His quirky pop approach sits comfortably between fellow dutchmen WEVAL’s abstract beats and AGENTS OF TIME’s opulent Italo Disco. YOTAM AVNI blends Detroit techno with new age jazz that reminisces the sound of ECM artists like Jan Garbarek or John Surman. The man with the hat, KÖLSCH also picks up jazzier notes in his very own big room style. Youngblood JONATHAN KASPAR appears twice, fortifying his status as one of the hottest beat smiths of our hometown Cologne. TOTAL wouldn’t be TOTAL without our permanent staff present in full force. As per tradition, KOMPAKT’s founding fathers, VOIGT & VOIGT, JÜRGEN PAAPE, JÖRG BURGER, MICHAEL MAYER as well as our Berlin outpost SASCHA FUNKE all deliver exclusive gems that also feature on Total 20’s double vinyl edition.

Wenn uns jemand im Jahr 1999, als wir die erste TOTAL zusammengestellt haben, gesagt hätte, dass sie der Startschuss für eine der langlebigsten Compilation-Reihen in der weiten Welt der elektronischen Musik werden würde - wir hätten wahrscheinlich laut gelacht. Aber hier sind wir, 2020, ein Jahr, das wahrscheinlich als eines der schwierigsten Jahre für die Clubkultur in die Geschichte eingehen wird. Aber: Wir machen weiter. Musik ist unser Sauerstoff. 'Burn Slow' is a 10-track album from Chris Liebing with
vocal contributions from a diverse range of artists: Miles
Cooper Seaton (Akron / Family), Mute labelmate Polly
Scattergood (onDeadWaves), Cold Cave, Aleen and, of
course, Gary Numan.
'Burn Slow' is a minimalist electronic epic and the start of
a new chapter for one of techno's leading authorities. It
might not be what you expect for a DJ synonymous with
fast, hard and heavy techno but, according to Chris
Liebing, he's always been something of a slow starter:
'I've wanted to do something like 'Burn Slow' all my life,'
he says.
While retaining the framework of the techno beats that
Chris Liebing has dedicated his life to for the past 25
years, here he also seeks out new harmonic territories,
taking aim at the heart rather than the feet, in order to
tackle some deep themes. The key concept of presence -
the idea that everything is happening in this moment and
that everything in the past is mere memory - form the
thematic backbone of the record. It's something Liebing
got in touch with via philosopher Alan Watts, not to
mention decades of getting entire dancefloors lost in the
present: 'If people would stay in the now, everything in
the world would just have a bit more harmony,' explains
Liebing.
Liebing has teamed up with Ralf Hildenbeutel (a key part
of the long since defunct Eye Q family) for 'Burn Slow' and
it was at his new musical 'enabler' Hildenbeutel's Frankfurt
studio that Liebing began drifting into new territor.

For its third vinyl release, Eagervision introduces to its public a young producer and DJ from the land of modern minimal par excellence - the talented Daniel Istrati aka Constratti.

As consistent as his output has been, his new release on Eagervision shows a perfected sound brought to the next level both in the quality of the final pieces as well as in their creative forging.

The London based label releases this record in a moment where Constratti’s career feels like it’s about to skyrocket, combining the three next level original mixes with a remix by Silat Beksi, an underground hero that has been pushing this sound forward in recent years.

The result is a unique four-track dancefloor record that will surely stand the test of time.

Danism makes their debut on Noir Music with the emotional
'Reciprocated Love' featuring the vocals of legend Arnold Jarvis.
We fell in love with this stringled and super smooth song from 1st listen at the NM offices. Deephouse like it sounded 'back in the day' and in general just a timeless effort by the Cambridge based guys. Deetron, Deux Tigres and City Soul Project deliver the remixes and all of them are spot on quality with a more clubby edge. So instead of keep hyping this brilliant release.... Let the music do the talking.

When Pig&Dan decided to join forces, they began a truly prolific production schedule establishing their reputation as producers of pulsating electronic music that straddled dark house and high-energy techno, whilst creating their signature style of twisted and experimental breakdowns.

Since those early days, they have created a repertoire that not many can match and have constantly been releasing their music on the most respected labels and playing at the best events worldwide.

Pig & Dan make their entrance to Drumcode with a full force, four track EP. The 'Mexico EP' encapsulates Pig & Dan's well known signature sound with each of the four tracks bringing their own identity to the release.

The tracks, laced with driving kick drums, modulated samples and thumping bass lines, come together to create a heavy yet dynamic EP that prove Pig&Dan are masters of their craft.

Cinthie’s 803 Crystal Grooves Collective Cuts returns this June with
a fresh four- track EP from S3A aka Sampling As An Art.
Parisian producer and DJ S3A has been releasing his take on soul-infused, sample heavy electronic music over the past decade via imprints such as Syncrophone’s Phonogramme, Lazare Hoche Records, 4Lux and Dirt Crew where he dropped his debut album. Here after the success of his debut LP ‘Pages’ and the ‘92’ Anthem’ track, which featured on the inaugural Collective Cuts release alongside music from Asquith, KETTAMA and 9th House, S3A returns to the imprint to conclude the story of his half acoustic half electronic album with the ‘« Pages » Epilogue’ EP.

Session Victim's new label adventure Pen & Paper sets it's sails with the boys' first original track since their 2017 album Listen to your Heart. Puzzle builds an intense groove from an array of mechanical and organic percussion and chunky 12 bit chordstabs over a haunted pad and noise backdrop. Closing the A side, VRIL takes the tune far out into deserted wasteland, steering his drumloops over chilly soundscapes towards a lynchesque string horizon. With not one but two versions, Iron Curtis claims the Flip all for himself and, well, excels, excels twice. B1 hits with everything a breakbeat can hit you with and it brings that exact kind of bassline along. Euphoric retro arps flush everything into enigmatic breakdowns to bring it back out and further. Mr Curtis finally brings the record into classy House territory with his Passagen Mix, embedding the original in between a heavily bouncing rhythm and an irresistible string section. Naïf 009 is the second in a series of five ep´s that are released around the release of the DJ-Mix-CD also named - naïf which has it´s release in April 2018
The second strike comes with two superstrong Techno tracks: - Lean Forward is a contribution by Nihad Tule that wil burn the dancefloors. Followed by - Not Now, Not Yet - a scratchy track from the hands of one half of Cassegrain: RHYW.
Side B heads into trippy territories with a heady, sparse but seductive groove by Marco Shuttle followed by a track from Efdemin in a collaboration with his close friend and fellow Konrad Sprenger (PAN)

After more then three years of silence as a producer, Efdemin a.k.a Phillip Sollmann returns with a striking hybrid concept that merges the album format with the continuous DJ mix' format, presenting completely new material in a seamless manner. The CD-mix, named Naïf, officially reinstates his label of the same name and is a sprawling tour of inner space featuring 19 distinct tracks from fellow producers along with an additional ten that feature Efdemin himself (either as soloist or collaborator). The release condenses his decade-long DJ-ing journey and evolution as a producer into a single potent elixir of contemporary techno.
Naïf consists of completely unreleased material from both himself and valued collaborators, all of which will eventually manifest as EP releases: five on his own Naïf label and two more on Curle.
