This latest installment in the Stroboscopic saga once again calls upon the talents of two label veterans, both having released EPs on the label while also contributing to its five-year retrospective series. This new split release shared between Kangding Ray and Rrose is a fitting partnership: after all, both individuals are known for advancing the progress of rhythmic electronic music while drawing from creative influences and movements that weren't typically associated with the 'techno' lineage until these producers made such links possible.

Kangding Ray's side, Ardent,' is a gripping and propulsive piece formed in the same spirit as the songs from his latest full-length, Cory Arcane. Dramatic and cinematic from beginning to end, it makes the listener and/or dancer feel like a highly alert martial artist slicing and kicking through a host of liquid-metallic adversaries, with disciplined synth bass and rich melodic swells as defensive weapons. Slick and accessible without ever being conventional, Ardent' convincingly collages stuttering and minced sequences together with steady percolation and smooth, brassy undertones - three different sonic 'states of matter' that unify to make Kangding Ray's musical imagination into an almost tactile thing.

The entity known as Rrose, meanwhile, presents a track here that reaffirms that artist's expert skill at crafting perfectly symmetrical and mesmerizing musical palindromes (a skill that can be seen on other standout Stroboscopic Artefacts tracks like The Stare,' and also on Rrose's interpretation of James Tenney's classic palindrome Koan (Having Never Written A Note For Percussion)).' The track in question, Swallows,' is appropriately named, impressing upon listeners like the sonic equivalent of a massive searchlight which, once it lands upon its target, swallows or vacuums up the listener's conscious attention. This elegantly arching set of multiplying and disintegrating waveforms rewards those with the courage to return its insistent gaze and to play at maximum' volume to reveal the wealth of detail concealed within its deceptive minimalism.

With its scientific exactness and sheer originality, this split is an essential listen not just for fans of either artist, but also for any seeker after new perceptual revelations.

After a few digital releases, Lunar Convoy delivers a masterfully executed debut EP to inaugurate newcomer belgian imprint NORITE's vinyl series. Counting Northern Electronics, Hypnus Records, Semantica and Prologue among his main influences, Lunar Convoy's first effort is utterly coherent while not failing to evoke a plurality of emotions. Imbued with sacred atmospheres, infiltrated with mysticism, ritualistic melodies and aesthetically charged rhythms, Outer Rim Territories is a testimony of his love for deeper realms. On the A side, Seswenna's trancey lead synth and pumping bass opens the EP with an excursion towards distant planets. Ryloth ventures into darker fields, scattered with whirring and saturated analog complains and haunted by ancient voices. On the flip side, Eriadu sets a more mystical pace with syncopated kicks and floating eerie pad, to embark on a parallel dimension. Allen's take on Ryloth is symptomatic of the US-based producer, speeding things up and offering a stripped down version filled with devastating hi-hats and firing toms to end this solid 4-tracker with the hypnotic-yet-effective sound that got him signed on Attic Music, M_Rec Ltd, PoleGroup or more recently Granulart Recordings. With such a captivating release, Lunar Convoy has set a high bar for the upcoming releases and left us under his sway.

For this first vinyl release of 2016 we have the big pleasure to bring you a great three track release called Manipulation EP by nothing else than Pablo Inzunza. The first track called Manipulation is a more than great tech house piece, with several arrangements on the base, where the rhythmic elements takes over letting us appreciate the perfect blend of several percussion layers working together with a superb production quality, and also creating alongside the solid bass line an extremely danceable club track with an amazing groove and party vibe. The second track, Arial Black, has a much more darker and techno vibe than the previous one with a very simple but effective groove created by a minimalistic base and subtle ambience elements, which helps create this almost hypnotic vibe. But it's not all darkness, about three minutes after the start we can start appreciating some deep synth stabs playing around with a filter and saturation to give a warmer touch to this fantastic track and closing the idea perfectly with a melodic touch. The last of the three tracks is Overcast, which presents a continuous string bass, which generates an intricate groove that stars softly with base elements only, until the vocals starts to appear, mainly during the break, and of course they get perfectly complemented with all sort of crazy elements from percussions to synths that creates a super interesting articulation between all the elements, giving order to the complexity of the production process. For sure this is a more than amazing release with three different pieces for several moments of the night.

Ahead of the launch of his latest and greatest album, Powers of Ten, Stephan Bodzin is teasing fans with a new single from it. Entitled Birth EP and released on his own Herzblut Recordings on April 24th 2015, it features standout original 'Birth' and a remix by Super Flu.

The album itself is hugely personal and is filled with cerebral messages and well thought out concepts. Due to land in June of this year, it is an engaging listen from start to finish, as are these two new lead singles.

'Birth' is a hypnotic and beautifully melodic track that rolls along at an inviting mid tempo pace. Smeared pads and bendy synths lead up to the skies and vocal coos add an angelic feel to the clean, crisp groove before a soothing breakdown builds tension. Once the track drops again it is a subtly euphoric affair that cannot fail to sweep you off your feet.

Super Flu, aka Herzblut Recordings regulars and German pair Felix Thielemann & Mathias Schwarz, then remix. Their version is laced up with big pain chords and squelchy synths, watery droplets and plenty of deep dance floor drama.

Both these excellent tracks will whet appetites for the full length later in the year and give a magical insight in what to expect from it.

The 5th release on wax for Karton Label. The Amsterdam-based Ferro comes with "8 Or 9", fellow dutchman B.M.U. on his first release ever with the hypnotizing "Fog" and from Germany and for the first time on Karton comes Daniel Madlung with "Vawpol".

When Jimmy Scott died in 2014, dozens of musicians, hundreds of journalists and thousands of fans mourned the passing of a jazz legend. Not only had a link back to the era of Billie Holiday, Charlie Parker and Lionel Hampton been lost, but so had the chance to bring the fame and respect denied to him throughout his long and rich life. Now, as if sent from some righteous deity, comes "I Go Back Home", an album full of life recorded by Jimmy Scott years before his death. Created by German producer Ralf Kemper, Jimmy Scott and with mixes produced by Phil Ramone, no expense was spared in giving Scott the lushest musical backdrops possible, creating an album that, like Scott's inimitable vocal style, comes late but but right on time.

This is Jimmy Scotts very last album!
Many of the most talented musicians of the worldwide jazz scene are paying tribute to him on this album: Dee Dee Bridewater, James Moody, Kenny Barron, Peter Erskine, Arturo Sandoval, Joey DeFrancesco, Monica Mancini, Till Brönner, Oscar Castro Neves, Bob Mintzer, John Pisano, Renee Olstead, Gregorie Maret, the legendary HBR Studio Symphony Orchestra are guests and even the actor Joe Pesci got two songs with Jimmy Scott.

The double-LP-vinyl comes with 180g vinyl cut by Abbey Road, gatefold-sleeve, audiophile pressing, handnumbered LIMITED EDITION to 2000 units worldwide and a Jimmy Scott picture included.

Claudio Coccoluto goes back to print with THE DUB Records

After spending over a decade in hibernation the Claudio Coccoluto's record label The Dub comes back to life with a new disco tinged offering from the label boss himself and sets the tone for a full schedule ahead.

Claudio Coccoluto is one of Italy's most famous musical sons; a DJ, producer, radio and TV show host and music writer. He plays all over the world at clubs and festivals as well as for brands like MTV and Peroni.

Using everything from the vintage sounds of Chicago and Detroit to the ultra-modern music coming out of Europe and everything else he hears around the world, Claudio Coccoluto is never afraid of experimenting with pioneering sounds and allowing others to be influenced by his never ending search for the next record.

* This full length album for Headz from Jungle Drum & Bass alumni Dom & Roland comes at a perfect time for the artist and the label, it follows his massive "Outta Endz / Unofficial Jah remix"release and comes at a time where the label has been at its most fertile in recent memory.

* The album harks back to pioneering 90s aesthetic of the music but it doesn't feel retrospective, in fact it feels futuristic- a thread that Dom has made sure ties all his work together. The reference points for the album stretch far and wide, from the inspiring and equally green eyed Sunday Sessions at Blue Note to RZA's approach to sampling.

* Dom's own words on the album perhaps shed the most light:
"The album is inspired and processed via a collection of moments I had through growing up, the things i was into, memories of good and bad times i'd had and the music i was listening to at the time'
Collaborations are kept sparse and potent, US legend Hive turns in a very rare appearance on "D.M.T"and vocal features come from Robert Manos and Natalie Duncan.

The album is Dom & Roland exorcising his artistic demons and we're proud to be releasing the project on Metalheadz.

Following nearly a year of relentless touring, the Desolat co-founder is ready to drop an exciting new collection of tracks that ooze his musical heritage and customary meticulous style. Collectively they provide a timely reminder why he is one of the most in-demand artists on the planet. Possessing an abundance of touring experience means Dice is more than aware of what will make a party click. This coupled with a carefully bred studio-nous has resulted, expectantly, in a release brimming with dance-floor bombs. The EP kicks off with 'Auxotox' which offers a chugging rhythm; bouncy bass-line alongside a maniacal sample that is gives a haunting early-hours feel. A staccato pulsating synth burst then elevates the track up through the energy levels. This tune has peak-time stamped all over it and will no doubt find its way into the record boxers of many an artist looking for that tool to send the party in the stratosphere. Not much respite in this track barring the well placed breakdown that harks back to Dice's Hip-Hop past. A great addition that is the genesis of fantastic brass section that is sure to raise the roof. 'Neurotox' is unquestionably the more techno affair. A warbling synth gets to work immediately, and is underpinned by a punchy big room bass line. The tracks driving nature is balanced by delicate rising synths that are sure to please fans of more musical techno. The EP ends with 'Retox' which possesses a dark and steady groove.

Matador's Loveland Festival 2016 EP showcases two big A-side tracks from the Irish maestro which have been pressed onto a limited edition vinyl (200 copies) with full colour sleeve of lavish artwork created by up and coming designer Sjors Verwijmeren. 2016 will be remembered as a milestone year for Dublin-based live techno producer. Another year of headline performances at key events worldwide has been complimented by a surge of musical activity including the release of his debut artist album Ructions that is in turn building a new brand Rukus.

club socialization in the 90ies.
With the title Love Supreme , Peter Pardeike delivers a monster of a track, which we are sure you will not forget. When the remarkable vocoder choir comes in for the frst time, you will feel it reverberate though your entire body, making it stick in you mind forever.

Drum & Bass duo The Prototypes release their much anticipated debut album 'City of Gold' on Viper Recordings following hit singles such as 'Pale Blue Dot', 'Don't Let Me Go' and 'Pop It Off'.

Already one of the hottest acts in the UK Drum & Bass club scene having 3 out of the Top 10 best selling tracks of 2014 on Beatport, The Prototypes are reaching new heights with their debut LP which showcases their trademark club sound and vocal anthems.

Cologne based artist 'Adryiano' has finally threaded into label managing waters. Ever since the emerge of his multi functional platform 'Cestraw' back in 2011 Adryiano has been twisting and thinking on when to launch the label side of things. After the humble success of his latest "Down South" effort on Soul Notes it felt like the right time.

CR/001 turned out to be an emotive dance floor record that touches several different modes within the spectrum of underground dance music. From the straight forward 303-anthem "Break Module" to the uplifting yet deep, Chicago-ish tones of "Path Of Yours" - Adryiano's "Default EP" is set to unfold just in time for the cold, dark days before Christmas.

Creative partnership Audiofly are the next to release on Crosstown Rebels with the show stopping 'In The (Last) Moment' featuring the angelic voice of Georgia Lewis. The release comes complete with a steadfast remix from Germany's Robag Wruhme.
'In the (Last) Moment' sets the foundation with broken chuggy beats as intricate layers and grumbling pads unfold beneath the beautiful sounds of Georgia's voice. Audiofly explain that, "sometimes it's nice to not have to write the usual peak time bomb, with this one we followed our hearts and the vibe of young vocalist Georgia Lewis and what emerged was a sunrise moment."
With 13 years behind them Anthony Middleton and Luca Saporito AKA Audiofly have established a creative empire, which includes two record labels and their Flying Circus global party brand, which celebrated its 10th anniversary earlier this year with a world tour. Working harder than ever, a second artist album is in the works following on from 2011 long-player 'Follow My Liebe'.
Industry veteran Robag Wruhme has more recently had releases on the likes of Kompakt and Pampa Records. Here he makes an imprint on Crosstown Rebels with this epic remix that fuses elated synths and industrial elements over solid rolling percussion.
